sometimes, i wonder if my profs find my recognition of events or culture from like the late 80s-early 00s charming or perhaps even relieving when you also recognize that like no one in my classes is over the age of 30 and the other students give them crickets when they ask.

#well technically untrue regarding my queer history class there's someone who was like 11 when lion king came out in uhhh 1994 #but in my programming class the prof asked us if anyone remembered the year 2000 n no one said anything or even raised their hand #and then when i figured out what he was getting at i was like 'oh!! the y2k bug!!!!' n he was like 'YES THE YEAR 2000 BUG'#'WHEN WE ALL THOUGHT THAT ALL THE PROGRAMS WERE GOING TO BREAK BC THEIR INTERNAL CLOCKS STOPPED DEC 31 1999'#the worm speaks #truthfully everything i recognize in my queer history class is bc i listen to all the old people here #and everything historical i recognize in my programming class is bc i have historical interest in fandom + technology of the 90s/00s #but still it's gotta be of Some Relief or w/e to see some young person recognize tidbits of life or culture you lived through or even shape
