Is this my best comic ever?? Nope. Do I think I characterized either of these two particularly well in this comic?? Not really. Did I spend an unreasonable amount of time on it to the point that it would be a waste to not post it?? Yes, yes I did.

I really committed to this one, spent a lot of time on those backgrounds and treated myself to ample suffering with the perspective, which is not my strong suit but I am happy with how it ultimately looks. Yay perspective and background practice!!

(Tbh I shouldn't talk like I think this one sucks, I think I've just been staring at it for so long that my brain has decided it's not good and it's actually way better than I think it is, and honestly I am quite happy with it. The artistic process really is something, isn't it?)

The inspiration was basically me reminding... myself... to take breaks sometimes... by drawing for several hour stints during my only little bits of free time. Which totally tracks. Probably. But I've been rolling around in my brain this idea that Lambert is a very uptight people pleaser and anxious workaholic, but Narinder, at least since adjusting himself to the circumstances (which probably took at least a century, maybe two) has discovered the joys of self care, and has made an active effort to chill tf out. This has not made him any less terrifying to the cultists (save for Lambert's closest disciples), nor has it made him friendlier to really anyone but Lambert (and maybe his siblings), but he sure has found some serious peace of mind. That said, I can't place what his motivations are here. Perhaps he is secretly concerned about Lambert's sanity, because he doesn't want them to turn into what he was, or maybe he's just trying to steal away some quality time with his one and only friend, but regardless of the reason, I spent too much time on this for nobody to see it, dang it.

That said. Enjoy this silly little comic that I spent way too much time on, and I hope this silly comic brings you some joy today.

Things I hope the devs of CotL don't do, but a part of me feels like they'll do anyways (or might already be doing):

Revive Ratau if we chose to sacrifice him. Like I said on a previous post, it would invalidate the weight of our decision, and would open the floodgates of "can we undo other heinous actions we do?" If yes, then why should we care about the events of the game if they can all just be undone?

Make the bishops so unlikable and unsympathetic to the point where the audience ceases to care about them. I know they already aren't the most likable characters due to their abrasive personalities (excluding Shamura), but people still find them tragic, so taking away that would just be the nail in the coffin. Unfortunately, this one already seems to be happening, if the description for the graphic novel is anything to go by.

Make Narinder seem like the good guy or otherwise have the story take a side in the whole "sealing of the one who waits" debacle. This kind of ties in when the previous bullet point (especially with the "already happening in the graphic novel" thing), but if they did this, it would feel like they're just pandering to the Narilamb fans by having the story bend over backwards for it.

Have the Lamb be this flawless, unstoppable, and perfect being who everyone (except bad people) loves and will never lose ever. This one is kind of self explanatory. If the devs decide to go this route, then I feel many people would cease caring about the conflicts if this game. After all, if the Lamb can't lose ever, then what's the point of caring about any the conflicts in this game of the Lamb? I will admit that this one is more of a "me" thing than anything else

Cure the bishops of their disabilities. Heal the injuries, sure, but not the disabilities, please. In my opinion, it would be very ableist to do this, as it would imply that the only way for the bishops to be truly happy is them being cured of their disabilities.

Have there be a "canon" interpretation of the Lamb. At the end of the day, the Lamb is a player-insert character, and the fun about those characters is that they can essentially be anyone and can have many interpretations. Making a "canon" Lamb would take away the fun of those characters. This ties into the other Lamb related bullet point somewhat.

Have the Fox and Midas become followers once we beat them. This is assuming we fight them at all, of course. This one is also very opinionated. I feel like getting them as a follower would be bad because it would A) imply they have a chance at redemption and personally I like the fact that we have at least 2 villains we can just hate (here's hoping to more!) B) let us treat them however we want, which means they could not get the punishment they deserve. And before someone says that you can do the same with the bishops (the whole "not getting the punishment they deserve" thing), they already suffered in purgatory, which counts as punishment imo.

Rely too much on toilet and "naked people are funny" humor. This one is another opinionated one. Personally, I'd prefer if we got more character-based humor (hell, maybe some surreal humor as well) than humor that only a child would laugh at. I do want to post this one on the suggestions channel, but I'm afraid of the backlash.

I'll probably add more onto this when it comes to mind

Old Faith courting and favour

I decided to write out some of the old faith courting rituals since I'm art blocked at the moment and I have Ideas. A lot of these will be based off of the sorta Victorian era way of flirting since I enjoy all of the little secret languages they had.

First off fan language. I like to think this predates the bishops, and they learned how to do it from their predecessors. There's a lot of issues with followers claiming favoritism and dissenting if one of the gods is seen flirting in the open, so they devised a way to communicate with their favored without judgement. i imagine this is the one that Narinder tends to favor since theres a few signals in the real life one that can convey if someone is listening in or following you, and I imagine that the practicality of it made that on more appealing, Also pretty boy with a pretty fan. obviously

Flower language. What god wouldn't give their favored a gift afterall? Flower language is the same as it is in real life, with the added layer of combining flowers to covey particular messages to the recipient. i imagine that the container in which it is given also plays a factor but not that much. i imagine to some degree all of the bishops used this way at least once, whether it was for flirting or not (death threats in the form of nightshade on your doorstep)

Gems and Jewelry. Different gems carry different meanings, the metal tells intent, and the type of jewelry shows who you received it from (so necklace for hekets cult, earrings for kallamars, etc.) Gold is usually given with the intent to marry (romance doesn't matter) and silver is given to those you consider close, whether it be family or friend. gems usually contain the qualities you admire within someone, So and example would be if you admired someone for eloquence and had intent to marry, you would give them a gold and emerald ring. Obviously Kallamar favors this method the most, and cares very little if people see that he favors someone above the rest. He typically gives pearl jewelry to people with specific colours depending the person. Also the jewelry type thing being cult related is a very loose rule, its just a fun thing the cultists decided on their own.

Fruit! its fig incident time (kinda). so you know how figs are typically associated with fertility? Well in old faith terms, offering someone a fig implied an invitation to bed and eating a fig out of someone's hand was akin to telling them to take you then and there. Hekets preferred method of courting, right up their with lavish feasts and specially cooked meals. i personally feel like shes too blunt a person for a proper courting phase so she just tends to get to the point rather quick. (theres a narilamb fig scene I have planned that I can't figure out how to explain but now yall have a basis to go off of so feel free to imagine)

Anyway thats all the ideas I had so far. Hope you guys like them! I'll always take suggestions though so don't be afraid to shoot me an ask :]

Lately, the Tumblr side of the fandom has been lacking attention towards the more obscure things. Plimbo. Midas. Sozo. You know, those lads.

Not to mention: OCs. Think your OC is gonna get attention? Well, apparently, how it works here is it’ll only grow if it’s a NariLamb OC, a lambsona, or something the devs themselves have promoted/responded to.

And the forms of media, too.

Artwork, animations, and comic/“graphic novel” style are not the only kinds of media. Some of us aren’t artists, but we can write. Or, we can make music. Don’t ignore things that aren’t visual. Give them a look. Show your appreciation. Don’t just leave us behind.

Now, I’m not saying that everyone will have the time/patience/attention span/ability to read through the equivalent of a single- or multiple-page-long Google Doc or listen to something original or anything, I’m just saying that artwork/animation/comic-style stuff is not the only kind of creativity out there.

Give other forms attention. Just because it’s not NariLamb or a lambsona or a piece of artwork doesn’t mean it’s shit. Read someone’s fic, appreciate all kinds of OCs, give the other characters attention.

No, I’m not implying that I find those other forms bad. I’m just saying diversity is at a sickening low, and I want that to change.

I didn't expect this one post about the fandom to hit this high and still get notifs about it.

I made this at the start of 2024 so may as well update my opinions before 2025.

This will NOT be under the main cotl tag, but a special tag (cult of the lamb critical) because it's good etiquette to tag your posts properly.

With that being said:

OKAY. So I'm taking from my January post + other critical points and updating my initial thoughts of the fandom.

Death and the Archivist has been long gone and has been forgotten. Check my COTL Blog for the better AUs.

The fandom still tends to pull a blind eye and do "Narilamb AU #7899" but to me personally, it's not much of a personal problem. It still clogs the main tag (much like how DCA clogs the main FNAF tag).

The only thing that probably has stayed is the inappropriate jokes regarding the Sins of the Flesh update. Mainly the ones that force Narinder to the mating tent (we'll get to that section in a bit, same goes for the infantilization bit).

Again, Death and the Archivist doesn't exist anymore.

My point still stands. I much rather see content of AUs that focus on how people can interpret the game as it is (the Lamb claiming revenge for their kind because of a prophecy caused by Narinder's ambition to cheat death) rather than a AU that is Narilamb with no interesting aspect. This is why I like the Gang/Mafia AUs people do for Narilamb. They interpret that the dynamics are going to be a wild rollercoaster, Narilamb-focused or not.

Another point that still stands. I still never get how people look at the implied atrocities the bishops have done to not only the Lamb's species but to other creatures and think they are innocent then turn and put Narinder in situations such as abuse and torture. It is a really sour taste.

It may be just me but I look heavily at the details the game offers (ex: Sozo's shroom addiction). These aspects of the game can work immensely for AUs but the fandom, at least a good portion of it, doesn't explore it because it can't fit in their Narilamb puzzle. It's a personal gripe.

The other points like woobifying characters, not making ocs interesting, and not placing more attention to other NPCs that no one gives more a fuck about are either personal gripes that I can't set a opinion on or can't comment.

Remember that the abuse/torture tags are here for a reason and this is the moment where I explain my big gripe with the fandom about this.

I very much hate this part of the fandom and I took a VERY LONG break when these "jokes" came out when Sins of the Flesh announced/released. These "jokes" were never funny to begin with. They're gross and those who make these "jokes" need serious help.

I am not a survivor but I have seen how insensitive people can be about survivors. I am ashamed to be in the same space as these insensitive people.

This is a big gripe with the fandom as a whole. I love Narilamb (certain interpretations) like the next person but they are becoming the next "DCA clogs the FNAF tag" issue. Narilamb isn't the only thing this game provides. Broaden your horizons.

There is possibly more around here in the critical tag that I haven't put in this post but just scroll through.

All in all, this fandom is fine. It just has its moments where people get really weird and you need to take a break from the fandom because of seeing disgusting shit like Bishop x Bishop or Narinder abuse/torture in the tags or in reblogs of people you follow.

Hmm...I only write happy ends so...maybe a few oneshots (very few) in "Other kinky situations, BONUS, AU & more." ?

My hanahaki chapter might have a more bittersweet ending note, maybe ? (☀️​🌻, kinda unrequited feelings but it's imply that it won't be for long...and a part 2 is in the work that confirm it becomes mutual)

Or the part 1 of my Twins AU chapter ? But part 2 & 3 make it all fine so... (​🔪​☀️​🌻 but part 1 focus on the 🔪​☀️​)

Sometimes but rare enough. I usually delete comments if they pass the limits (insults, slurs, death threats, suibaiting,…)

I don't really mind people stating their opinions as long as it stay polite and don't pollute the comments too much.

9. Do you write s.mut?

YES!! I try to include it in a natural and casual way, especially in multi-chapters fics, because that's what I like to read. It's part of life so it's only natural that it's also part of the characters' life.

I'm aroace & both romance- and sex-repulsed so I'm a little picky with what I like and writing those (romance&sex) can be a little bit of a challenge sometimes.

10. Do you write crossovers? 

I never did and don't plan to in the future but you never know. Probably not though, not really my thing.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? 

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

Not by someone else. I translate my OMORI fics in french little by little myself. It's my first language but somehow writing is easier in english ?

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? 

Nope, and I'm not sure I could.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Well, outside of poly ships (cause I really can't chose between those), I guess Sunflower ? It became such an OTP, that I feel genuine distress if I try to read an OMORI fic where they're explicitly not together.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

None. Unless something happens to me, I will finish all of them even if it takes me years :)

16. What are your writing strengths?  

Um...I've been told that the way I write the characters dynamics is good ? I dunno, if there's some of my readers that see this and want to let me know what they think is my writing strengths, go ahead !

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Beside the way my disability mess with my ability to write so much that I need to use text generation (NovelAI) as an assistive tool ? I dunno, that's kinda the bigger one (￣ ￣|||)

Translating thoughts into words is pretty hard for me so...yeah.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think I would only do it for a language I can speak well enough to not mess up too bad ?

Oof, tough choice. I love all my fics quite a lot and I can't really chose one so...

And so, he'd wait. (☀️​🌻, mentioned before, I'm quite proud of this one and I love the Yandere/Yandere Unhealthy but Happy relationship going on there, someone once described it as the "healthiest unhealthy relationship" they've ever seen and...well I guess it fit lol)

It wasn't like things couldn't have been different... (☀️​🌻 + ☀️​​🏀, Short: 4 chapter, Angst with a Happy Ending, the whole "I let my chance pass and now he's with someone else" but with a polyamorous resolution~, I also love the discussion between Polly and Basil in the last chapter <3)

Always there for you, always loved you. (🔪​☀️ + ​☀️🌻 ➡️​ 🔪​☀️🌻🍉 + Minor 🎀🍭, Not completed but I really have a soft spot for this fic, I always write Sunny and Basil as autistic but in this one I feel it's the most obvious, also the 🔪​☀️​🌻​🍉!! I love that ship so much)

The door may be locked, but the window isn't. (☀️​🌻 + ❓, Soft Yandere|Basil who wasn't involved in Mari's death here, Not completed but again love the Unhealthy but Happy relationship going on there, the...almost wholesome if you don't think about it vibe)

They've been brothers for millennia, why would that suddenly change now ? (The NariLesh oneshot !! Who became a twoshot but shh...I just really love the whole polycule aspect in this one, the NariLamb moment is so cute, the LeshyCat with Thory playing matchmaker, Leshy comparing Nari's size to the Lamb lol)

Also a bunch of oneshots like the Basil front while visiting Basil. (Basil/Basil) or the Solo-bloodplay & Phone sex. (Basil/Sunny) or the Headspace|Basil fucks Sunny's eye socket. (Headspace|Basil/Sunny) (A lot more wholesome than you'd think when seeing the title, I promise) or Transmasc|Ace|Sunny part 1 & part 2, or...!
