once more reading a big fat typography book in the school library instead of studying and every so often it strikes me how similar the genshin font is to garamond in places. maybe this is a "guy who's only really stared at serif fonts for the last three months" kind of situation tho

#at this point i've accepted that it's an in-house customization ofc but it always drives me nuts anyway #like some of the design choices that they make do feel distinctly garamond!!!!#*points insanely at the lowercase w* DO YOU SEE IT *circling the middle part of the w in red marker* DO YOU SEEEEE IT #well i'm also not looking at a reference sample of the genshin font rn. maybe i should print one out to compare against this book's fonts #anyway it's sad that automatic bolding is a feature of most font editors but god forbid you try to unbold a thing #which makes sense but truly everything i do is but a labor of love... le sigh (lmao)#花話
