Y'ALL. Y'ALL so for a long time I've believed that "the sun" in Meursault's story is Carmen, and I went to check Hell's Chicken's dialogue to see exactly how he said that he'd dealt with distortions before, and... you know what else he said?

To my knowledge, it is a phenomenon where an individual morphs into a form often unfit to be considered “human”. It has no known causes, and the appearances were all different.

Unfit to be considered human.

Meursault, who, in his book, was judged by the court to be soulless.

Meursault, who has EGO for Cyborgs who have been so mutilated they barely act like people anymore; a murderer who was experimented on until ceasing to be human; a sheep named after Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, a novel about the humanity of androids and the inhumanity of humans; and now a rose that can't help its bloodsucking nature, based on Carmilla, a vampire whose story emphasized the duality between her vampiric traits and her human ones.

Meursault, who answered Heathcliff's ironic question of if he had metal for brains like this:

#limbus company #project moon #meursault #sorry of my info on carmilla is off i still havent read the book #me post #CLARIFYING IN THE TAGS: MEURSAULT IS HUMAN #it would be a disservice to his character and honestly pretty gross if he ended up not being human #the entire point is that he IS human and that other people perceive him as otherwise because of how he behaves #so I guess theoretically if he did distort it would exacerbate the issue?#extremely speculative but there are distortions who can behave pretty normally while distorted #like the marksman of the mist (and also some of the reverb ensemble but those people are all full of issues WAYYY bigger than marksman was)#if meursault was one of those...#someone calling him unfit to be human. it's fine it definitely won't leave a scar on his psyche #i think in his canto there might end up being something about how even though people don't see distortions as humans #distorting is a very human thing to do #anyway i think overall there's juxtaposition with him and don quixote #don isnt human and wishes she could be #meursault is human but people don't think he is #yknow despite my theories it would probably be more poignant if he DIDNT distort #them looking at him and assuming he only couldve done something like that if he distorted but he didnt #oh wait but the timeline... they probably wouldn't have known about how distorting works yet #nevermind back to the first idea #they ask why. he talks about a beautiful voice. no one knows about this yet and they all think there's something deeply wrong with him #'a beautiful voice convinced me' holds up in court about as well as 'the sun was too bright'

Being authentic and true to yourself is the only way you are 'supposed to be/act like' (insert entity). If anyone else disagrees it only tells you about them.

#going to start a small 'series' where I document stuff I learn that is otherkin specific. This is for myself as well as anyone who might #be struggling with things I used to/am working on(otherkin specific). hopefully this will reduce any mental pitfalls other otherkin may #fall into as they explore their identity and help out someone.#this 'rule' took a LONG time to fully understand and grasp. for the longest time I would consciously or subconsciously #think I was less Loki if I did or was something 'Loki would never do. until i realized I do exactly and experience exactly what Loki does #and experiences because...Im literally Loki. What I love about Hellboy and Abe Sapien's dynamic in the comics is that, if you came into this blind, you'd expect Abe to be the voice of reason or the straight man to Hellboy's impulsive and hotheaded personality. But no, Abe is more often than not the crazy one. Hellboy would deal with fighting evil monsters and bad guys by just sighing and getting it over with, while Abe is going rabid over tearing the creature apart when he does get into a fight. Hellboy acts like it's a 9-to-5 job and will reasonably talk things out with a guy that had nearly killed him before, Abe acts like a madman in a slaughter house and his first instinct is to shoot first kill second and ask third. They're both insane, but on completely different levels.

#wheres that one comic where abe gets into a mission and has to tear down a monster with an axe #then at the end when hellboy appears and sees abe going ham while covered in blood. he's like ''oh hey abe. good job you're doing there''#hellboy was not even worried for a second. he trusts abe to handle things on his own #they both trust each other to do their job but they also know when they can handle a fight on their own and will help if needed.#their trust and bond with each other is so implicit but speaks volumes. they dont need to say anything. they just know #we talk so much about hellboy being like. an alright guy and a whole lot kinder than the world treats him. and that's right #but it really does make Abe look fucking batshit wild in comparison because of it #the entirety of the abe sapien comics is that the guy is on his hinges and the only thing keeping him sane before was his job (which is #debatable.) and the bprd. mostly hellboy and liz and kate and roger. johan and ben are a weird case but he does kinda care about them #i love abe btw. he's such an interesting critter. absolutely crazy maniac of a guy.#tbf i dont blame him considering his backstory. if i went through some of the shit he did; i would not be sane either #also. the moments post hellboy's death in the comics where abe is trying to deal with his passing but never directly says anything about it #until he was confronted by hellboy in his dream. thats the cool bit yknow. we dont need to be told Abe was grieving about hellboy #we just knew he wasn't handling it well. using present tense when talking about hellboy to other people. avoiding saying his name.#its great stuff #the fire burns #hellboy #hellboy comics #abe sapien

we give garp a lot of (rightly deserved) shit but unironically like 90% of the criticisms towards him i see not only ignore the wider worldbuilding context of one piece but also don't acknowledge how sengoku is like the worst friend ever

#like in the world of OP its fully acknowledged and present that most pirates are like Kidd (ie violent against normal citizens)#and Garp is stated to be one of the pillars preserving peace not unlike how Whitebeard also did #but even then theres like 4 moments in marineford off the top of my head where garp WAS gonna betray the Marines #and it was Sengoku holding him back snd trapping him each time #and even beyond all this one of the themes behind marineford is that they all chose their paths and have to live with the consequences #luffy and ace chose their paths knowing full well it would make garp their enemy and garp had his hands tied entirely at marineford #and even then garp let luffy pass him!! garp could have easily stopped luffy and didn't. like he did choose them in the end as well #anyways garp does absolutely deserve a sock in the jaw because he strikes me as someone who wanted to change the system from the inside #but he failed. and like for all that koby and smoker are 'good' marines theres also not nearly the same amount of criticism towards them for #yknow. working for the marines knowing full well theyre a horrible organization #in any case i want to punch garp and strangle sengoku. oh ace is too evil to leave alive but law is perfectly ok huh sengoku????#one piece #zerav meta #garp

We all know Timmy is Wanda’s mama’s boy but we need to keep in mind he’s still Cosmo’s kid too and that Cosmo would love him just as vehemently as Wanda

#fairly oddparents #not that anyone has portrayed him different #certainly not distance he loves Timmy he probably says it the most in the show and in fanon #but still- watching New Wish there felt like there was a disconnect with Cosmos character-like he wasn’t as well defined as he was in OG #that’s in part due to them toning him down from being an idiot plain and simple but I feel like it wasn’t fitted with something else it was #simply taken away #just to say he didn’t have as much of a presence to me in New Wish as Wanda did and I crave spinning Cosmo around in my brain #I want to see Poof being his Dad’s Boy yknow and I want to see cosmo doting and I want to see when he gets like. parental rage for the sake #of his kids #yknow? Yknow? part of him feeling detached in a new wish has translated into him not wanting to get as close to Hazel as he did Timmy-#to try and play it more like godparents are supposed to- just a presence for a couple months #but also because like. he got SO attached to Timmy and he’ll never regret it and he’d never do anything different #but idk. if it were me I wouldn’t have the capacity to go through losing my godkid again after becoming that attached #that’s not even mentioning that they don’t HAVE to be in hazel’s life the same way they were in Timmy’s because Timmy was going through #neglect and Hazel has loving family and friends all around her at all times- her blocks are mental #in that way cosmo and Wanda just have to do the Typical Godparent Job of aiding her- not becoming people she desperately needs in life #which also bleeds into why I think Peri was having such a. difficult time #godparents aren’t supposed to be attached the way his family was to Timmy and that how he learned it #but his first godkid is Not Easy and lends immediately to the issues Timmy was having where he HAS parents he HAS things (though .
