@BrotherRasheed
I was born and raised as a Muslim. My father was the imam of our village mosque. I had no intention of leaving Islam if I believed it was the truth. However, I left it because it no longer made sense to me, and I could not reconcile its issues.
1. Problems with its founder, Muhammad
Muhammad’s actions and teachings raise significant concerns:
•He was a violent leader, involved in 27 wars and 56 raids, most of which he initiated rather than defended. •He subjugated neighboring tribes, enslaved their men, women, and children, and engaged in sexual relations with one of the captives just days after killing her family, including her husband. •He married his adopted son’s wife and wed a child, Aisha, when she was only 9 years old, while he was 53. •He exhibited questionable behavior, like having sexual relations with all his 11 wives in one night without even washing in between, and sometimes forgetting next day whether he had done sex or not. •He demanded 20% of war booty, suggesting a pursuit of power, wealth, and sexual gratification under the guise of prophethood. •He was misogynistic, teaching that women: •Have half the intelligence of men. •Are the majority of Hell’s inhabitants. •Appear in the image of Satan. •Are inherently crooked due to being created from a crooked rib. •Are cheaters and unfit to rule.
2. Issues with the Quran
The Quran contains teachings and errors that are deeply troubling:
•It promotes hatred towards non-Muslims through the concept of Al-Walaa wal-Baraa (loyalty to Muslims and disavowal of non-Muslims). •It commands Muslims to wage war against non-believers until they submit to Islam, and imposes the Jizya tax on Christians and Jews who refuse to convert. •It allows men to beat disobedient wives, and assigns women half the inheritance and testimony value of men. •It is riddled with historical inaccuracies, such as: •Confusing Mary, the mother of Jesus, with Miriam, the sister of Aaron. •Referring to Samaria as existing during the time of Moses. •Claiming that Haman was a minister of Pharaoh. •Depicting Alexander the Great (Dhu al-Qarnayn) as a prophet sent by God and a virtuous man.
3. Islam’s incompatibility with modern laws
Islamic Hudud punishments are incompatible with human rights and modern legal systems. These include:
•Amputations for theft.
•Stoning and lashing for adultery.
•Crucifixion.
•Execution of apostates.
These are barbaric 7th-century laws that have no place in today’s world. For these reasons and more, I could no longer follow Islam.

Introduction to My Au David and His Bride
I know most people know about @ghoulgeousimmaculate and @misslavenderlady Au and their boys' wives. I love their stories, which then inspired me to start my own Au! I wanted to make a story with a slightly traditional route because I want to be able to represent women from my culture as it is a beautiful culture and I would want to see how the boys go about it. I also will be making the wives here either Muslim (people who follow the Islamic path) or whatever religion you all believe the others would be.
_This occurs in Modern times, with cell phones, tablets, etc. and Michael had joined the boys willingly, even after seeing how monstrous they can be. He joined them the day (well night hehe) of the bonfire and slaughtered the few surfer Nazis that tried to escape.
-The boys and Michael first met Mahnoor (the woman in the picture) on the street when they walked past a small wedding hall and decided to crash it for free food. David felt a strong hand smack him on his shoulder and turned to see this beautiful woman staring at him with disdain. David claimed he had never seen a more beautiful woman in his life and instantly turned on his charm to try to win her over. Just between us, it did not work because she instantly kicked them out of the party by herself.
-The boys instantly fell for her and David could not let her get away! For a few weeks, David began to... "admire from afar" (aka stalk) the lovely lady, slowly realizing she is... soft and caring. He had witnessed her help out the communities around her, giving a lot of her paycheck to orphanages and homeless shelters, and she always had a smile on her face. Most people would assume that because she is like this, her home life must be horrible, but she has an even closer bond with her family than most would. She loved her parents and her 2 younger sibling as they loved her just as much. David felt... a bit jealous seeing how close her family was but nonetheless, he wanted her even more so time to take action!
- He first let himself be known where she worked, a small coffee shop where she was a baker. His go to order was a black coffee and some toffee cake that used to bake. See, David is not into sweet treats, but the cake was so delicious, he fell for her even more. Mahnoor, even though despised him in the beginning, felt herself all flustered and a little happy that he liked her cake as he kept coming back for more. The boys had started to come in slowly to the coffee shop for their own little treats; Marko and his love for hot chocolate pudding, Paul and his favorite chocolate brownies (though a bit upset for the lack of weed in them), Dwayne and his desire for the peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake, and Michael with the classic coffee crunch tres leches cake.
-Seeing the boys devour her desserts every other day, Mahnoor felt proud of her food and started to come out more from the back and just talk with them, get to know them a little more but she did get drawn to David more. She felt like David and her had the same thinking, since they are the eldest of their family and had more responsibilities than most. She had slowly gotten to know him more after work, usually hanging in the park or just simply walking to her house before her curfew hit. David would never admit it out loud but he really truly felt heard when he was around her and that melted his cold, undead heart. Sadly... something traumatic had to happen for him to finally and truly reveal what he and his boys are.
-Mahnoor was closing up for the night when a bunch of men were harassing her across the street. She usually ignores them as they have been there from the start of her opening of the shop but they have been getting more bold as they quickly cross the street and start to follow her, getting more inappropriate by the second. Mahnoor tried to quickly escape but was grabbed by her shirt and was tugged back by the group. They kept pushing her around, pulling on her shirt to try to rip it off as she screamed for help from somebody, until she saw 5 pairs of glowing yellow eyes in the alleyway. The... creatures moved so fast, ripping the men off of her as she heard screams of pain, the gushing of blood, and manic laughter from... the creatures that sound.. so much like the people she grew to love as she shut her eyes in fear. Once the screaming was gone, Mahnoor slowly opened her eyes to see the man she loves, his face morphed into a nasty snarl, his teeth and mouth covered in blood and his glowing yellow eyes. She gasped in fear when she slowly looked behind him to notice the boys... also covered in blood and have the same damn eyes.
-David did not know what to do, he wanted to explain to her before who he was and what kind of... creature they all were but the timing was never right! He did not know what to say to comfort her because... he never had to worry about some girl's feelings but... his heart aches for her. The boys, bless them, tried to deescalate the situation as much as they could, but... Mahnoor simply backed away and ran off home before they could even try to comfort her. David... let her run, not simply because he did not want to terrify her.... he himself was so terrified of seeing or hearing what she had thought of him.
-It had been several weeks since the incident and Mahnoor... well her heart was aching for someone she has not seen since the bloody mess. He has not come in to the coffee shop but his boys have... but only to get what they wanted and quickly leave. Even when they never asked for it, she always packed a small toffee cake for him... She felt hurt but she ached for him to come back... she wanted to see him yet was still terrified of the face she saw that night. That night, after closing the store up, she had gone to the Mosque and prayed for him, prayed to god asking if she should give him the chance, if he was truly the one for him. That night, she had gotten her answer when she left the mosque to see him in the flesh on his stupid bike he drives around town.
-He did not know what to say when her saw her, but he felt like he didn't have to for when she walked over to him, she hugged him oh so tightly. She called him a stupid demon for leaving her like that for which he quickly corrected her by saying he was a vampire, not demon. She smacked his chest when she pulled back before holding his hand, squeezing it a little as she told him that she did not care what he was... it would not stop her from loving him. David wanted to sweep and kiss her but he knew because she is a Muslim girl, he had to wait for that occasion so he kissed her forehead and whispered an I love you too.

Jumu'ah Sohbet: 13 September 2024
This Sohbet will take you on a proverbial flying carpet through the past, present, and future. With Allah, we go, Bismillah!
#1. We are living such turbulent times in our modern era!:
However, intellectuals Mehdi Hassan and Rob Delayney advised those of us deflated by man's state of affairs: "Don't be pessimistic about the future because this is your moment to relive history." Implying that at some point in our history, this sense of apocalyptic demise has been experienced before. Look, despite COVID, Climate change and War, they are continuing to make my accident old news 😅
youtube
Spiritually, Hazrat Jalaluddeen Rumi (RA) says: "Lovers find secret places inside this violent world where they make transactions with beauty." I couldn't agree more because what keeps us grounded, apart from the maddening crowds, is our spiritual connection through our Tariqa (spiritual school) that keeps us conscious of the truth and reality of La ilaha illalah (There is no god but God / Allah)! We are therefore programmed to see the positivity and beauty of Allah, no matter how much human ugliness is projected around us. Shukran Ya Allah (Divine gratitude)!
#2. We just passed the 6th of Rabi ul-Awwal which marks the Wisaal (Divine meeting) or Urs (Divine wedding) of the spirtual monarch of our country, Hazrat Shaykh Sayed Ahmed Badsha Peer (RA). His resting place was round the corner from where I worked pre-accident, and at a particularly sad time in my life, his spiritual solace carried me through it! In the middle of Durban's humble inner-city within a multiracial cemetry during a racist passage of South African history itself. Subhana'Allah (Divine glory)!:
Hazrat Badsha Peer (RA) arrived in Durban from South India as an indentured labourer in 1860 and was recognised by the British authorities as a spiritual personality and discharged of his duties. I remember telling visitors that his legacy as an indentured labourer was that his plot of sugarcane was always harvested at the end of the work day, without him having to sweat, were some of his mystical abilities. He passed away in 1894 in the precinct of the Grey Street Juma Masjid and buried in the Brook Street Muslim Cemetery. He was from amongst the Majzoob category of Sufis, who are totally drowned in the love of Allah, making them unaware of their own physical conditions. Due to this, people never recognised his spiritual position! It was in 1895 upon the arrival of Hazrat Soofie Saheb (RA) that in pure Sufi ethic, he first went to pay homage to the great Awliya (Friend of Allah) of this country. And, in doing so, located the grave of Hazrat Badsha Peer (RA), making it known for the first time that here lies "BADSHA PEER" (A King amongst Spirtual Guides)! [Chishty Sabiree Jahangiri Khanqa and Research Centre]
This was at a time when I was not even a Sufi murid (follower). As the Sufi adage goes, when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Shukran Ya Allah that he did, in the form of Shaykh Taner Ansari of Allahistan! It is also where your Mimi's Ummi is laid to rest with Allah in this world. Allah blessed your Mama and me with Mimi's blessed presence in our lives where she sought me out at the nearby offices and spiritually enlivened my consciousness of the blessing round my corner. Allah, if Hazrat Badsha Peer (RA) was involved in the spiritual mechanics of keeping me alive after a 2-month coma as it was while I still worked there, please convey Your love and eternal gratitude on my behalf:
Ya Shakur Ya Wadud!
#3. Anne (our spiritual mother) asked us to contemplate on the English translated version of Sura 89 of the Chronological Edition of the Qur'an as renewed by our Tariqa, Al-e Imran (The Family of Imran). I couldn't stop the outpouring of insights and awe within me towards Allah's words in those 200 verses. For example, I will just share 3:
- V4: Allah as the mighty establisher of consequences. (Yes, us human beings with free will must be made to feel the consequences of our choices!)
- V7: Some messages of the Qur'an are clear, but others are allegorical. Allegorical means containing a moral or hidden meaning. (As a past Qur'anic Arabic student herself, I had felt that the Qur'an is either too simplistic or too deep which drove me to keep trying to connect to it or altogether evade it! Until, unexpectedly and gloriously, did our Tariqa delve into it as richly as it did, where at virtually every other verse I am compelled to contemplate!)
- V86: The community of disbelievers who reject truth after it has come to them! (Like extremist Jews and extremist Christians that firmly hold onto their forefathers' practices! But, Islam was the most recent of Abrahamic religions, which affirmed their paths and with reasoned caveats. Another reason the community of the middle path [ummatan wasatan] makes more sense, if you ask me):
In conclusion, we enter Yuwm un-Nabi, which is an annual celebration of the birth of Rahmatul lil 'Alameen (Mercy of the worlds), our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)! Insha'Allah, it is a well-executed success as planned, which unites us deeper:
Ya Ghalib Ya Azim (Yearning Allah's ability to succeed)
Ya Wadud Ya Salaam Ya Jami Ya Nafi (and Allah's love, peace and unity in goodness)

Marriage in Islam: Traditions, Rituals, and Blessings
Introduction:-
Islam, however, deems marriage to be a sacramental and a traditional union. It has been used as a tool to meet spiritual needs and worldly demands as well as being the source of love, companionship, and perpetuation of the human race. Islamic marriage or "Nikah" is considered to be a civil contract between two consenting parties with the presence of witnesses. Although customs and traditions vary in different cultures of Islam, fundamental principles are always the same.
Key Principles of Islamic Marriage:-
Consent:- Both the bride and groom should give their free and willing consent to the marriage.
Mahr:- The groom is obliged to give the bride a gift as a token of respect and commitment.
Witnesses:- The marriage contract must be witnessed by at least two adult Muslim males or one adult Muslim male and two adult Muslim females.
Khitbah (Proposal):- It is presented by the groom or his family to the bride's family, making a formal proposal.
Aqd (Contract):- It is the ceremony when the contract is written and the marriage is legally endorsed.
Traditional Customs and Rituals:-
Pre-Wedding:- Many traditions involve a celebratory night with the bride for applying henna. Friends and family gather in anticipation of joy and paint the bride's hands and feet with henna.
Wedding Banquet:- Traditionally a wedding banquet. A feast of food and banter and joyous cheer ensues on a gathering of nears and dear ones.
Walima:- Traditionally, walima or groom's dinner where the groom's family hosts another feast as a celebration of a wedding.
Dowry:- Not required in Islam, but could be there in a society where dowry exists, which is the custom of giving some presents by the bride's family to the groom.
Contemporary views:-
In this modern era, Islamic marriages remain dynamic while remaining true to its core values. Many couples include modern elements within the marriage, but respect old values.
Conclusion:-
The marriage institution in Islam is sacred, and fulfilling, and encourages love, respect, and mutual support. It is a journey of shared responsibility, growth, and spiritual enrichment. With adherence to Islamic principles and cultural traditions, strong and harmonious marriages that will be sources of joy and blessings will be formed.
Note:-
Marriage in Islam is a sacred bond, based on love, respect, and commitment. The primary rituals are Nikah (marriage contract), Mahr (dowry), and Walimah (celebration). These customs emphasize mutual consent, responsibility, and community support. Islam treats marriage as a spiritual journey based on peace, procreation, and emotional support. It lays down a very strong foundation for a blessed and fulfilling life. For more details about Islamic marriage traditions, check out Princess Matrimony.

People often say that LGBTQIA+ people doesn't exists in Muslim/Islamic World. Nowdays many muslims argued that LGBTQI+ rights are contrary to their traditional beliefs, homosexuality shouldn't be decriminalized in their native countries, because it goes against their moral values, cultural norms & social mores,[...].
But previous Islamic history & muslim traditions had wide range of acceptance of sexual & gender diversity. In those days Muslim communities weren't so bigotted, heterosexist,homophobic/transphobic, heteropatriarchal.Colonialism, communism, dictatorship, islamist regime justified the prejudices against queer folks in Muslim world, not Islam itself.
In 1854, Ottoman empire legalised consensual homosexuality in parts of Middle East,North Africa,Eastern Europe & West Asia.Notably Mughal,Mamluk,Khilji,Sayyid, Pathan,Lodi,Abbasid,Safavid,Qajar,Ottoman empire gave privileges to gender variants and eunuchs.Even it is also said that Aghawas (a designation for trans feminine, effeminate,agender/eunuch & intersex) were served as guardian of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s mosque & tomb. There had been numerous homoerotic paintings & same sex romantic poetries in medieval islamic era.In pre-modern muslim societies ghazals (sufi spiritual song) has direct references with queerness. In some sufi traditions cross-dressing, gender fluidity was considered as sacred.
Since 18th & 19th century almost all muslim countries were colonized or being influenced by European Orthodox Christians.Europeans pushed their moral codes, heteropatriarchal system & gender roles upon muslim communities. But western colonialism was unable to erase queerness & love from asia.In Pakistan,Bangladesh,India & some parts of Afghanistan, Hijras (designation term for trans feminine, trans woman, gender diverse, intersex) are still exists.Hijras has recognition of third gender in Pakistan,India & Bangladesh. They have some civil rights in those countries mentioned. But Transgender people's livelihood in Afghanistan is very worst. Some Afghan trans people's lifestyles are very similar to Hijra/Khawaja Sara subculture. In central-asian muslim cultures gender vice-versa or variance are not uncommon.Bacha bazi or Bacha-bozi is practice where adult men get sexual services from young crossdressers and effeminates.
Waria, another transgender muslim community can be found in Indonesia.Waria transgenders has very limited rights comparing to Hijras. In South Sulawesi, Indonesia Bugis (a muslim tribe) recognized 5 genders: Oroané(masculine men), makkunrai (feminine women), Calalai (trans-masculine or masculine women), Calabai (trans-feminine or feminine male), Bissu (androgynous or non-binary).The classification of the calabai, calalai, & bissu as third genders is disputed. These roles can also be seen as fundamental occupational and spiritual callings, which are not as directly involved in designations such as male and female. In pre-Islamic culture, Bissu were seen as intermediaries between the people and the gods. The Bissu are closely associated with the female yet androgynous moon goddess, as her spiritual offspring.Up until the 1940s, the Bissu were still central to keeping ancient palace rites alive, including coronations of kings & queens. Historically, Bissu have played an important role in other ceremonies as well, particularly in weddings and childbirth events. However today Bissu & Waria faces marginalization in their homeland due to rise of Political Islamism & Islamic Extremism .
Here is a list of Muslim/Islamic nations where homosexuality is not a criminal offense (technically):
Albania - Legal since Ottoman period.
Bosnia & Herzegovina - Legal since Ottoman period.
Kosovo - Legal since Ottoman period.
Azerbaijan - Legal since 1918 or 2000 (not sure). But state often arrests LGBTQ community members.

Indonesia - Homosexuality never been a criminal offense until 2022.LGBTQI+ people often faced persecution by state & harassment. In 2022, Indonesian parliament passed a bill that outlaws all types of sexual relationships outside the traditional marriage.
Here is a list of Muslim/Islamic nations, where transgender & gender diverse people has rights:
Iran - Transgender individuals were officially recognized by the government, under condition of undergoing sex reassignment surgery, with some financial assistance being provided by the govt. for the costs of surgery, and with a change of sex marker on birth certificates available post-surgery since early 1980s. However, substantial legal and societal barriers still exist in Iran. Trans individuals who do not undergo surgery have no legal recognition and those that do are first submitted to a long and invasive process (including virginity tests, parental approval, psychological counseling that reinforces feelings of shame & inspection by the Family Court).
Bosnia and Herzegovina - Trans people may change their legal gender in Bosnia & Herzegovina after a sex reassignment surgery & other medical treatments.
Pakistan - Pakistan recognized Hijras as third gender in 2009. In 2018 Pakistan's parliament passed “The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act” which provides fundamental rights in health, education, government and security.
Lebanon - In late 1990s Lebanon allow sex reassignment surgery. In 2016 Lebanon court legally recognized a trans man as man.
Turkey - Transgender individuals were allowed to change their gender since 1988.However later Turkey adopted harsh policies for transgenders, required many pre–requisutes in order to be able to receive gender-affirming surgery. Transgender persons had to ask & be granted permission for the surgery,be at least 18 years of age, unmarried, & sterilized in order to receive gender-affirming surgery.
Jordan - Since 2014 jordan allow trans people to change their gender after a sex change operation.
Bahrain -Since 2008 Bahrain allow trans people to change their gender after a sex change operation.
Bangladesh - since 2013 Bangladesh recognized hijras & eunuchs as third gender. In 1975 Dr. Hosne Ara Begum became the first transsexual woman to be recognised as woman in Bangladesh.
Indonesia - Indonesia allows sex change operation for Warias & give limited rights for transgenders.
Kazakhstan - Since 2003, trans people allowed to change legal gender following sex change surgery, medical examinations, & sterilisation.
Kyrgyzstan -Transgender people allowed to change legal gender following sex reassigment surgery, medical treatments, sterilisation since 2014.
Tajikistan -Under Tajik law, trans people may change their legal gender on their passport if they provide a medical statement that they have undergone sex reassignment surgery. There has been 2 sex-change operations performed – the first one in 2001 and the second one in 2014.
UAE- allows intersex persons to undergoes a sex change surgery & change their gender.
Egypt - In 1988, a sunni Islamic Fatwa by Muhammad Sayyid Tantawy grants legal permission to perform gender affirming surgery. In Egypt, those who want to undergo the surgery must seek an approval from a gender reassignment review committee at the Medical Syndicate of Al-Azhar. But the committee has not convened since 2013, when Al-Azhar withdrew its member from the ccommission.

- Caleb's nickname is Kanan
- masters= parents (adopted or bio, a few exception cases like Ahsoka and Ani, Obi wan and Ani, ect.)
- obi wan is qui gon's bio kid, Anakin was adopted
-Ahsoka is adopted by plo koon
- while I would love to include all clones, last time I tried that I fried my modern AU, so here's a more edited list with my faves
- Jango had Boba and Omega
- Rex and Cody are brothers, they're boba and omega's cousins
- the bad batch(quintuplets) + domino twins are brothers and are boba and omega's first cousin once removed (so Jango's aunt/uncle's kids)
- pretty much everyone in the fett family joins the military to some degree
-Bd-1 is Cal's small dog, C3P0 is a golden retriever (or possibly a service dog for Ani due to childhood trauma) and R2 is a cat (maybe a tuxedo), Chewwie is one of those big super fluffy dogs, Chopper is a ginger cat, and Jar Jar is Padme's overly excitable yippy dog (couldn't decide on a breed)
- Hera and Kanan eventually adopt a wolf dog they name Dume, Chopper hates sharing attention
- Kanan adopts Ezra
- Sabine is related to Bo-Katan and Satine (somehow, I know she's the same clan so extended family!)
- After meeting clan Wren (I am writing this as I watch Rebels) I have decided Ursa was Satine and Bo-Katan's adpoted first cousin once removed
- Hera is totally Airforce, like I feel like that's the closest to her role in rebels, her and Kanan met in highschool
- their song, which later became their first dance at their wedding, is "Ain't no mountain high enough"
- Zeb is another friend of theirs from highschool, he was a year or two younger
- Zeb is a security guard, Ezra is an animal conservationist (see him and Loth wolves), his parents had a radio show where they talked about endangered species
- Kanan is a firefighter (because irony) and Cal is an elementary school teacher who is in charge of his school's fencing club
- in this au Kanan's injury comes from a job, once he's blinded he joins Ezra in his work
- Cere is a highschool music teacher, Merin is a history teacher who also has an elective cultures course, and Greez is a freelance pilot who's business is definitely totally 100% legal(/s aka he takes some shady jobs)
- Cere and Greez are neighbors, Merin works at the same school as Cere, and she meets Cal through her
- Din obviously adopts Grogu at some point, and Luke volunteers at the temple's Sunday school which is where he meets them(???)
- I feel like Luke would own a martial arts school, Leia becomes a politician like her mum, Anakin would be a robotics engineer
- Satine is prime Minister of Mandalore, Bo- Katan is either military or lawyer (she strikes me as the lawyer type), Sabine was going to join the military but ended up pursuing an artistic career, Korki wants to go into politics like his aunt
- Mandalore works like the u.s where it's a bunch of small countries a trench coat, except they're more functional... mostly
- Obi wan is either a social worker (helping other kids like Anakin) or some kind of diplomat, he only became a diplomat cause he took a few classes to spend more time with a cute international student *cough* Satine *cough* and found he was good at diplomacy
- Plo Koon and Ahsoka are body guards/ security, Plo has his own company, Ahsoka started as being in charge of marketing (I consulted my mom for Ahsoka's job and she suggested marketing because she's so bubbly)

At the feasts given on these occasions [weddings], and on subsequent days of the marriage-festivities, a curious custom, which reminds us of the alites or prœpetes of the Romans, is usually observed. The cook makes two hollow balls of sugar, each with a hole at the bottom: then taking two live pigeons, he attaches little round bells to their wings ; and having whirled the poor birds through the air till they are giddy, puts them into the two balls before mentioned: each of these is placed upon a dish; and they are put before the guests; some of whom, judging when the birds have recovered from their giddiness, break the balls. The pigeons generally fly about the room, ringing their little bells: if they do not fly immediately, some person usually makes them rise; as the spectators would draw an evil omen from their not flying. The ball and bird are called "el-kubbeh wa-t-teyr." It is said that the Muslims of Egypt, on some occasions, as on the inauguration of a Sultan, used to observe the custom here described; but this appears to be an error, arising from a misunderstanding of the term "el-kubbeh wa-t-teyr" applied by historians to an umbrella surmounted by the figure of a bird, which was borne over the head of a Sultan in certain pompous processions.
-Edward William Lane, The Manners and Customs of the Modern Egyptians, page 550 (reiterating my usual warning that while Lane extensively documents the material culture of Egypt in the 1830s, he is a racist and a misogynist of a possibly criminal degree, so I advise caution reading his works)
#cipher talk#actually egyptian tag#Masr#Coptic culture#Also I'm sorry about the way he transliterates Arabic its a fucking eyesore#I was just re reading his Appendix on Copts because of how comically racist he is in it and this stuck out to me as interesting

Do you have any fics in the works? Tell us about them!Looking forward to any other writer's upcoming fics? Tell us about them too!
My wip folder is never empty, darling. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing to say it, given the number of unfinished works I have there, but oh well...
I haven't had much time to write. You know... real life, bills, family, more bills... 😵 and of course I procrastinate a lot (I blame Netflix Brasil for getting Downton Abbey and all the Turkish diziler I find online 🤦🏻♀️). But I write sometimes. Not every day. Not most days of the week as I used to do before. But I'm still writing.
The one wip I'm actually half way through is a Hamid x MC xmas fic. I know you're thinking "but it's almost February! And Prince Hamid is Muslim!" and you're right. But Daphne is Christian, very fond of Christmas, Hamid loves a nice social gathering and finding any reason to tease his favorite girl and we do not follow the real life calendars in here, so why not?
Among the series I write, earlier this month I was working on Meant To Be (Desire & Decorum modern day AU) chapter... 27? (I lost count... 🙈) Anyway, I think the next two chapters will finally explain why I label it as a Soulmates AU. There's a Sinclaire and Daphne awkward scene here, a little Sinclaire x Alisha moment there... But nothing too dramatic for now.
There's also Jade and Liam's For The World to Know. Tbh I have no idea what chapter I am (I'm getting super lazy on this because Tumblr and AO3 count the chapters automatically for me 😅). They're just a couple of weeks away from the wedding, they're getting joint a bachelor and bachelorette party, there's some heart to heart talk with Hana (these girls need it), Leo is joining them in Vegas (and we all know he often brings drama) and there's Drake situation to be solved. I'm close to reaching the end of FTWTK and I wish I could really start Happily Ever After (instead of just posting a few one shots of them married) because I've been daydreaming about the plot for years (the story will be soooooo good, ugh!), but I don't know... If I managed to finish FTWTK (or just The Fives Stages since there's only two more chapters left), I'll take it as a win.
Last year, I also remembered I never finished my Bloodbound series. A while ago, I got a comment on AO3 from someone who wanted me to extend the series and I thought about doing it, but at this point I wouldn't know how to do it. I'd probably have to create a new plot since the one I started back then is nearly solved. But that would demand time to replay Bloodbound to find inspiration and, unluckily, that's something I don't have lately. I started planning a chapter with Adrian x OC (any Adrian stans still out there?), then I'll write one more chapter to wrap it up.
There are other Desire & Decorum AUs and a TRR AU, but I haven't touched those wips in months... I rather not make any promises regarding any of those stories for now.
Other than that, there are a few one shots planned:
A Thomas Mendez x Ayla (+ Stephanie and Luz) inspired by one of my favorite Brazilian memes and a scene of a 2010 romcom. I can't explain why I'm doing this... The muse wants what the muse wants 😂
A few ficlets (or short stories, depending on how inspired I am when I actually sit down to write) to answer some OTP asks for Hamid x Daphne and Nate x Stella (TWC). I was debating if I'd include Liam x Jade, but I might give away the plot of Happily Ever After in one of the questions, so nope 😅
When it comes to other people's stuff, I don't know... I'm not super active on Choices (or any fandom, for that matter) and I'm not familiar with most of the fandom and what people have been writing lately. I do have my faves (@missameliep @lilyoffandoms @storyofmychoices @princess-geek @noesapphic ) and they still write from time to time, but I'm not going to pester them for new fics. They have their own lives and write whenever they can. As a fan of their work, I respect their writing pace and I'm simply glad they're still here.
Thanks for the ask, anon!

Asian Wedding Photography and Videography: Blending Tradition with Modernity
Introduction
In the vibrant tapestry of cultural celebrations, few events hold as much significance as weddings. For many, these moments are not only a union of two individuals but also a celebration of heritage, family ties, and cultural legacies. This is especially true within Asian communities, where traditional customs intertwine seamlessly with contemporary practices. As we delve into Asian Wedding Photography and Videography: Blending Tradition with Modernity, we'll explore how Birmingham wedding photographers and West Midlands wedding photographers capture the essence of these unique celebrations.
The art of wedding photography has evolved dramatically over the years. No longer confined to static poses and formal group shots, modern photography embraces spontaneity, emotion, and storytelling. In this article, we will discuss various aspects of Asian wedding photography and videography that reflect both age-old traditions and modern innovations.
Asian Wedding Photography: What Sets It Apart? Cultural Significance in Photography
Asian weddings often feature rich traditions that vary by community—Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Chinese, and more. Each culture has unique rituals that deserve to be captured authentically. Photographers specializing in Asian wedding photography Birmingham understand the importance of these customs and strive to encapsulate their essence through their lenses.
Storytelling Through Images
Rather than merely documenting events as they unfold, skilled photographers aim to tell a story through their images. This narrative approach allows couples to relive their special day long after it has passed. By capturing candid moments alongside traditional ceremonies, photographers create a comprehensive visual diary.
Utilizing Natural Light
One hallmark of expert wedding photographers is their ability to utilize natural light effectively. In an Asian wedding context filled with vibrant colors and intricate details, natural lighting can enhance the beauty of photographs significantly. Many Birmingham wedding photographers prioritize outdoor shoots during golden hour for that perfect glow.
The Role of Videography in Asian Weddings Capturing Movement and Emotion
While photography freezes moments in time, videography offers a dynamic way to experience emotions. A well-crafted wedding video can transport viewers back to the day’s joyous laughter or heartfelt tears. Hiring a dedicated wedding videographer ensures that no precious moment goes uncaptured.
Incorporating Cultural Performances
Many Asian weddings involve live performances like dance or music. A talented videographer captures these moments with precision, allowing families to relive the excitement for years to come. The interplay between audio-visual elements makes these recordings invaluable keepsakes.

Tailored Elegance: Muslim Dressmaking Services for Men in Charlotte
When it comes to traditional and modern Islamic fashion, Muslim dressmaking services for men in Charlotte provide a unique opportunity to create custom pieces that reflect cultural heritage while ensuring comfort, style, and perfect fit. Whether for daily wear, prayer, special occasions, or weddings, custom-made garments allow Muslim men to express their individual style and embrace their faith with confidence. Let’s explore the benefits of Muslim dressmaking services and how they cater to the diverse fashion needs of the Muslim community in Charlotte.
The Importance of Tailored Muslim Garments
A Perfect Fit for Comfort and Style One of the primary reasons for opting for Muslim dressmaking services for men is achieving a perfect fit. Unlike ready-made garments, which often vary in size and shape, tailored clothing is crafted to the exact measurements of the individual. This ensures that the garment fits comfortably and flatters the body, allowing for freedom of movement, especially during prayers or while engaging in daily activities. Muslim dressmakers in Charlotte can create garments that enhance both style and comfort, giving you the perfect fit for every occasion.
Reflecting Personal Style and Faith Muslim men’s fashion is not limited to a single style; it can be versatile and deeply personal. Custom dressmaking services allow men to choose the fabrics, colors, and styles that resonate with their personality while adhering to Islamic dress codes. Whether you prefer a traditional thobe, a modern kufi, or a contemporary fusion of Islamic attire, a tailor can bring your vision to life. Tailoring ensures that each garment is not only a reflection of your faith but also a testament to your personal style.
Quality and Craftsmanship Muslim dressmaking services for men in Charlotte offer high-quality craftsmanship. Skilled dressmakers use premium fabrics and expert sewing techniques to create garments that are durable and long-lasting. Custom-made clothing is crafted with precision, ensuring that every stitch, seam, and hem is completed to the highest standard. By investing in tailored garments, Muslim men can enjoy high-quality attire that will remain in excellent condition for years to come.
Cultural Significance and Tradition Islamic attire holds cultural and religious significance, with garments like the thobe, shalwar kameez, and jubbah being staples in many Muslim communities. Dressmaking services for Muslim men not only ensure that these garments are stylish and comfortable but also that they maintain their cultural significance. Tailored garments celebrate Islamic heritage and provide men with a way to embrace their traditions while adapting to modern life. Whether for daily wear, Eid celebrations, or other religious gatherings, a custom-made piece can make these occasions even more special.
Muslim Dressmaking Services for Men in Charlotte: What to Expect
Charlotte has become a diverse and vibrant hub with a growing Muslim population, and this demand for tailored Islamic clothing has led to an increase in dressmaking services that specialize in Muslim men’s fashion. These services cater to a wide variety of needs, offering customized pieces for daily wear, prayer attire, and formal occasions. Here’s what you can expect when seeking Muslim dressmaking services in Charlotte:
Personalized Consultation When you approach a dressmaker, the process typically begins with a consultation. During this consultation, you’ll discuss your specific needs and style preferences. Whether you are looking for a thobe, suit, or casual wear, the tailor will take your measurements, listen to your fabric and design preferences, and offer expert advice on fabric types, colors, and style options that align with your vision.
Fabric Selection and Design Choosing the right fabric is a crucial part of the dressmaking process. Muslim dressmaking services in Charlotte offer a wide range of fabrics, from breathable cottons and linens perfect for hot weather to luxurious silks for formal events. The tailor will help you select the ideal fabric that not only suits the occasion but also provides comfort and durability. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss any special design elements, such as embroidery, cuff styles, and collar options, ensuring your garment is one-of-a-kind.
Expert Tailoring and Craftsmanship Once you’ve chosen your fabric and design, the dressmaker will begin constructing your garment. The tailoring process involves precise measurements and expert sewing techniques to ensure that the final product fits perfectly. The dressmaker will carefully craft your piece, taking time to ensure that every detail, from the stitching to the finishing touches, is done to perfection.
Fittings and Adjustments A fitting session is a crucial part of the process, as it ensures that the garment fits perfectly. If needed, the dressmaker will make adjustments to the garment to ensure it meets your expectations. After the final fitting, you will receive your completed piece, ready to wear for any occasion.
Why Choose Muslim Dressmaking Services in Charlotte?
Cultural Sensitivity and Understanding Tailors who specialize in Muslim men’s fashion have a deep understanding of cultural and religious needs. They know how to create garments that meet Islamic dress requirements while offering modern, stylish designs. They also understand the importance of modesty in Islamic fashion and ensure that all garments are designed to maintain this principle.
Convenience and Personalization Having a garment custom-made locally means that you can work closely with your tailor and receive personalized attention throughout the process. This ensures that you get exactly what you want and that the garment fits perfectly. Additionally, local tailors can provide timely alterations, making it easier to have a wardrobe that always fits.
Versatility for Every Occasion Whether you need clothing for daily wear, religious events, or weddings, Muslim dressmaking services in Charlotte offer versatile options. Custom tailoring ensures that you’re ready for any occasion, from prayer to celebration, with garments that are both functional and stylish.
Conclusion
Muslim dressmaking services for men in Charlotte offer a unique and personalized approach to Islamic fashion. By choosing a custom-made garment, you are investing in quality, comfort, and style that meets your cultural and religious needs. Whether you're looking for a traditional garment or a more contemporary look, these services ensure that you can express your faith with confidence and style.
