#also I looooove how people like to say that SPN queerbaited AND pretended Destiel didn't exist #bonus points to those who also say people who ship Destiel were seeing things that weren't there #but really. seeing how other fandoms operate I can tell that things are DIRE #because people absolutely CAN NOT differentiate between #'interpretation that is possible' vs 'definite intent in the show' #or 'queerbait' vs 'creatives showing support for fandom' #etc #and of course there's subzero genre/entertainment business awareness #and even more worryingly #zero interest in understanding/believing/respecting what the creatives say #even when they speak as plainly as possible #so I'm just like... #whatever #blocking and muting and just doing my thing (via @ironworked)

Pretty much every post about spn "queerbaiting" carries in its implications that every destiel shipper who understands what happened here is drinking imaginary water from hallucinatory aquifers. People have absolutely no clue how invalidating their words are. I don't know why this is still going on in the month of October in the year 2024 but when these invalidating posts (complete with reblogs that blame the writers for deliberately dehydrating us all) keep getting big engagement while insightful meta that treats destiel as part of canon gets blown off, it really grinds my gears.
