Podfic #2 for the Caught On Tape Carry On Podfest! This is The Sound of Silence by aralias! This one's also for Teen and Up Audiences, with Ch1 around 28 mins and Ch2 around 21 mins! This fic is another one of my old favorites, and it was so much fun editing it all up!
Once again I need to seriously thank the mods for this fest! They've all been SO supportive and kind and made me feel so much closer to a fandom I've cherished so much for the past two years but was always too scared to be more than a lurker in! I was so worried about learning to make podfics and exposing my voice to internet strangers, and yet the reception I got for my first podfic was completely mind-blowing and heart-melting, and I'm so grateful to all the amazing people in this fandom! This would not have been possible without all of them, but the mods super duper especially!!
I've got one last fic on the way that I'm gonna have to really go crunch time on, but for now enjoy listening to The Sound of Silence by aralias!

Several people have been kind enough to let me publish their thoughts on fandom, community, and queerness to celebrate Pride in the Library. Today's piece comes from @stavromulabetaaa.
Last year was hard. Living with a toxic family member and then losing two friends to suicide really took a toll on me. But I always had a safe, supportive space to turn to when I needed it.
Fandom has been a part of my life for over 15 years. From a 12 year old lurker (yikes) to an active member of the kindest fandom I've ever experienced. I find there's an extra special connection in the Drarry community due to the fact that many of our creators and organizers are queer and very outspoken about the topic of She Who Must Not Be Named. We're still here, defiantly. Proudly. We contrast bigotry with kindness and I love being a part of that.
I come from a more liberal part of the world but have faced my own hardships expressing my identity (queer, arospec, leaning towards nonbinary) and that struggle seems to be a common thread in this community, an integral part that brings us all together. The bonds that I have formed with so many people from all across the world are so special to me. They mean more than I might express! Late night/early morning (damn timezones!) discord chats, screaming about art and fic, and swapping pet photos bring me the wholesome, genuine, and positive energy I want to see more of in this world. Thank you all for keeping me sane in the worst and best of times, for making me feel seen and heard. For being the positive, open-minded queer community young Stav needed to witness and experience all these years.
Happy Pride from Stav, Masudi, and Desmond!

Thank you, Stav, for joining me in the Library. It is an privilege to hear what fandom has meant to you and how it’s been a comfort. I’m so glad you took the time to come and celebrate Pride in the Library with me.
If you want more Stav, be sure to check out her work as a co-creator of @lostdrarryfics! I can’t say enough of what a help that account and all the people who run it are to our fandom. I also encourage you to check out the fest she is co-hosting, @unleashed-fest. If you’ve ever wanted to read or write a fic with a furry (or feathery or scaly!) creature, this fest is the one for you!
🏳️‍🌈 Lots of Love and Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈
