fun fact: as stated by the quiz she fucking. loves her water bottle. when she was a baby we were worried she had a blockage in her throat because she kept slamming it back against the wall of the hutch REALLY LOUDLY and her sister didn't do that. so we took her to the vet. nothings wrong. maybe it was just a thing when she was a baby no. no she just really fucking loves her water bottle and likes making it really loud

worst experience: she cut her paw open on a piece of hay when she was about a year and a half old and was bleeding SO FUCKING MUCH i almost missed a class final to stay home with her. she was fine lol

best experience: she likes to shake hands. i have a photo of this somewhere. if you put your hand down in the hutch she'll run over and put both her paws in your palm so you can "shake" them it's the funniest fucking thing

ii. Mei Rosalind

name: -- mei for my fiancee's middle name lmao (lenora-mei) -- rosalind for Rosalind Franklin (biochemist who discovered the structure of dna)

fun fact: again as in the quiz, she likes sunbeams. a whole fuckin' lot. like, too much. it was about noon and i walked into the room they're in and she was on her back. lil paws in the air. and i thought she was Fucking Dead but no. she was just sunbathing

worst experience: she once sneezed in my mouth and i thought i was gonna die

best experience: when i was studying for my organic chem final she slept on my desk the whole time and just generally kept me from Flipping The Desk and giving up lmao

iii. Meg Helen

name: -- meg for meg jay (clinical psychologist on adult development) -- helen for. helen keller. bc she's blind

fun fact: the only guinea pig we got from a pet store, who we weren't actually going to get. but she was curled up in the corner of a too small cage and was obviously miserable, so we ended up biting the bullet and adopting her. took her to the vet, vet told us she is The Most Blind Animal she has ever had the pleasure of meeting. take that as you will

worst experience: we got her when she was just a little over a week old and she had to be quarantined from the others. we ended up having to switch off and sit with her at night because she'd cry the whole time and she has the saddest fucking wheek

best experience: she has the croakiest voice of all time. we're pretty sure it's the same genetic inbreeding problems that made her blind, but it doesn't hurt her and it sounds Hilarious. when she finally got out of her quarantine hutch and to her real one (which is 45 feet squared lmao) she didn't stop popcorning and squeaking for fifteen minutes. i cried my fiancee cried i took a video and sent it to my parents and they cried it was a day

iv. Piper Florence

name: -- piper for the pied piper of war because she's the leader and the others follow after her like she's the. the pied piper -- florence for florence nightingale because again if you've been here for more than .5 seconds you know that i am a. healthcare bitch

fun fact: once jumped out of the hutch and then just stood in the middle of the room because she didn't know where to go. is Best Friends with meg and shows her where everything is in the hutch when we have to change it/replace objects. she does not like sue and ignores her. just doesn't like her there's nothing to be done

worst experience: we thought she had ovarian cancer about a year ago because she was lethargic/sick/swollen etc for a long period of time. tracking her poop what she ate all of that etc etc. turns out that she had a cyst which was still a fucking nightmare, but hey at least it wasn't cancer

best experience: when my fiancée got really sick a few years back piper would just sit on her chest and purr. it was cute and needed and she's fuckin BEEN there man she's basically our dog

anyways that's it. congratulations if you got through it all lmao. i also have four cats (i am. not good at fostering) and a dog so maybe i'll make a post about them idk. ok bye

So the two plots stolen from Genshin is the Chenyu Vale story quest, and I've forgotten the second one, oops- I thiiiink it's kinda like the Mondstadt festival (the one where u have to pick that fuckin flower and it didn't matter abracafuckyou /lh)

LOOKING AT MY THINGS THERE WERE MORE okay hold on-

So the concept of the campaign is every character is a fallen god who's forgotten their divine life, and they regain a shred of their memory and now must find a way to ascend due to the fact that only Whole Mortals can reincarnate/be reborn, but if you die as a mortal-body divine-soul That's It (yadda yadda, non-dnd approved type shit; there are actually multiple ways they could go about it but I have no idea what they'll do beyond revive the sun) - One player didn't do that, but it's fine, he is instead POSESSED by a goddess, it's chill, and I adore his backstory and he's the only one with a backstory tightly interwoven with the world's lore and local area the campaign takes place in he is THE ONLY MAN WHO MATTERS T O M E (/j)

The Genshin Quests that I have plots for bc I stole them are as follows; Natzissenkreuz Ordo, Chenyu Vale, and the Windblume Festival. I won't get into it rn so you don't have to tag this ask as spoilers (unless... thinking emoji) BUT oooOOOOooOoOOo you wanna hear abt my dnd So Bad sdfsdfsdfg (I just wanna talk abt it SO BAD bc we're on a month hiatus bc one player's in the middle of bumfuck nowhere for a while)

I ALSO HAVE A ONESHOT PLANNED FOLLOWING/INSPIRED BY THIS YEAR'S SUMMER EVENT IN GENSHIN! I'm planning on running it at two tables (different groups) and potentially even a third when I get to sorting it out, ASK ME ABOUT IT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE asdfgh

DND ASIDE- I recently found out one of my irls plays Genshin and I've been talking to him about it and honestly??? very nice, very fun (very demure /j) asdfgh I got into genshin to play w/ some other irls but now I am the last,,, genshin player standing,,,, and we're gonna help eachother farm when Natlan comes out bc I love running domains >:3 I'm a lil domain fiend

Ignore the fact that I'm responding backwards. But the pressure did work 👀 now I just need it to happen again because I blinked, and a month rolled around. I thought it was at most a week but no, my sense of time is fucked.

I'm so bad at names, and I barely do the story in any game I play unless I'm forced to (I missed an event in ZZZ because I wasn't on the third chapter yet ;-;). So I don't remember if I've done, seen, or even heard of the Chenyu Vale story, but I do know Mondstadt, at least.

I love it when my friends actually get invested enough with my imagination/ideas that they actually tie things into the ever-working narrative ;u; sometimes I feel like people don't do it because (they don't fucking care lol) they don't want to overstep on something that's made up by you. I understand, but man, it feels so uplifting when it happens. Keep that man alive. Are you planning on revealing parts of their divine life as the campaign goes on? I remember watching this youtube short about DND where they basically say that each player is given a blank sheet, and as they progress through the story they learn more things about their characters based on outside reactions.

I only know Windblume Festival but if it's a required quest/event quest, then I've most likely played the others. But yess, feel absolutely free to dump all your DND lore since I know you can't say it to your players unless you reveal too much. I'll tag spoilers in case you want to get more specific with the genshin quests because I do not remember any of them.

I was talking to an old anon on another blog and it kinda makes me sad how the genshin community died out. Not in the sense that there's no fandom there, but that old players have either quit or lost interest. It makes me wonder if I even like genshin or if I write it because it's what I've been doing for so long.

I love Inception stages, but whenever I see photos, gifs and videos of Seonghwa's abs flash I just don't feel too good, I've known he lost weight for a long time, but everytime he opens up about that period of time my heart breaks. Also some members are more likely to show more skin and some don't wanna do it so calm the fuck down

That joke made me cackle and I passed it on, because udyhshdajshhshs Baek comedian. Yesterday two bumblebees flew into my room, like seriously I have nothing against bumblebees, but come ooooooon. Thankfully I quickly escorted them outside. But that big fucking spider on the balcony HA HA HA HA HA FUCK I'm glad it's far away from my room. If there are so many insects on 12th floor I can't imagine how it is downstairs...

I agree lore is an additional bonus, sure you might not get some things, but it's easy to ignore? Some people just wanna be upset over nothing seriously. Yessss I wanna explore XH's world more, hopefully the comeback delivers cause the boys deserve good stuff <3 SM needs to be more subtle but they're just really in our faces with everything lmao. Yes Enhypen has a vampire concept, but there are some werewolves involved as well?

Basics of handling a firearm can be done dry, and even introduction of SUT can be done dry or with like Airsoft, but once you're at a point where you're doing that, doing it dry becomes less and less effective (and accessible). I was at the gun shop waiting for a transfer I think, and a black couple that were there before me were just finishing up a purchase when the clerk, a young white man, did the usual pitch for concealed carry legal protection, specialized lawyers who deal in self-defense pleas with gun deaths. This is mostly a scam, it can be useful, but like all insurance it's exploitative. But the real kicker is how the clerk pitched it. To these people of color he said "Yeah you know George Zimmerman? this company was started by the lawyer that defended him". It's like... insulting to suggest that marginalized people can't tell immediately how hostile 99% of gun culture is to them.

‘Leftist gun culture’ is, overwhelmingly, focused on a very petty-bourgeois, hobbyist sort of individual firearms ownership, rather than anything genuinely revolutionary.

General armament (a historical aberration) came about in the US almost entirely due to the nation’s roots as a settler state, where every settler was expected to take up arms and wage genocide wherever they were - defending occupation. As the country developed, this morphed into the need for the (white) citizenry to be ready to organise into posses and slave patrols at a moment’s notice. Later still, lynch mobs of armed citizens. The throughline here is the petty-bourgeois settler, Defending Their Home and Property - and this is still the dominant narrative in the wider US gun culture to this day.

Supposedly-leftist gun culture often carries on this trend, emphasising individual firearms ownership justified by, with some minor modification, these conceptions of self-, and home-defense. The idea of ‘home invasions’ by anonymous masked men (fought off with a shotgun hidden in the drywall) is changed slightly, given a progressive veneer, but the core idea remains the same. But, to fight off the masked men most likely to actually invade your home with guns - the police - requires much more than personal gun ownership, it requires a revolutionary war. The quote bandied about so much: “Under no pretext, etc.” has much less to do with arming proletarians, and much more with arming the proletariat.

Even those nominally more focused on revolution still replicate the existing, petty-bourgeois gun culture, through their hobbyist outlook. Guns are pored over as an object of obsession - not just a tool. Customisation, arguments over different brands and manufacturers, and expensive personal collections; they fit equally well on a forum for motorcycle enthusiasts as they do in the discussions of these prospective revolutionaries. The customised AR triggers and bespoke leftist plate carriers fit much more with the ‘50s Man of the House, building a gyrocopter in his garage, from a mail-order parts kit; not the soldier, equipped with standardised, stock equipment - and much less the guerrilla fighter, using whatever stolen equipment is available.

Spending thousands on a gun, on its accessories and ammunition, and further still on regular upkeep, let alone other equipment - it isn’t something most people can afford. And when the time calls for the use of guns, when an armed people’s uprising takes place - not just by the most active vanguard of the guerrilla forces, but by the mass of the people organised into local militias and self-defense groups - will we expect every one of them to have previously dedicated a month’s worth of income on it? Even ignoring the importance of other sources of equipment, hobbyist insistence on top-of-the-line gear restricts the actual usefulness of broad, basic training and equipment.

Lenin’s focus was largely on providing the proletariat with military training - firearms experience, not firearms ownership. A ‘leftist gun club’ pooling together funds to buy a rifle and range time can provide that training to a much greater number of people, at a much lesser cost, than the same org hashing out EDC pistols (and far moreso than disorganised individuals arming themselves!). In countries with mandatory military service, civil unrest is especially volatile - the workers, trained in military affairs, need only capture weapons to equal the state forces. When the time comes, a hundred well-trained people ready to take up arms are far more useful than a dozen that come pre-equipped.
