"I appreciate that you've at least spent enough time overseas to say my name properly, but there's no need. I enjoy the pet names just fine," Zemo added, gently petting Alpine's head as she headbutted his face. "And if you truly insist, I suppose I could be bothered to call you 'Bucky'." It would be easier, he tried to assure himself. "So long as we can agree that when Sam does arrive, I will not call you Bucky, and we will not mention that I did. He'll be obnoxious about it."

“Not if no one knows the middle name, most of the kids I grew up with were pretty sure my name was actually Bucky.” He raised an eyebrow. “No clue who James Dean is, but most of the others are associated with politicians and they are the same ones who sent us to war.”

Bucky shrugged. “I like Bucky, I answer to James in the line of duty but I’m not working now Helmut.” He dragged out the name just to put emphasis on it. “Steve gave me the nickname and I’m keeping it.” He relaxed once Zemo was seated on the bed.

The Iron Roses are unfortunately not able to play our tour dates in Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Montreal due to unforeseen circumstances.

We will still be there to play these shows with Psych Ward Grips, Lucid Smog Disorder, and Le Plan Caneton. Sorry to Iron Roses fans who were looking forward to seeing them. Let's throw down and make them proud.

Okay, so here's an observation:

As a person who's constantly on check with what they feel and do (reflecting on probably 90% of social clues and information) I've discovered an interesting titbit: sometimes I pick on people's feelings (men, it's mostly of men) of being uncomfortable around me. And when the interaction is over, I circle back to that conversation in my head, trying to figure out what was it that bothered them. Was I being too loud? Or not mindful enough? Did I happen to speak over them at one point or maybe take up too much space? 'Cause it feels like it. And then I'm like: Oh, wait. I did not, in fact. I was polite, as I usually am, I took up exactly as much body space as they did, I talked with the same volume, but the thing is - I'm a woman. So it made them uncomfortable. And then they transferred those feelings to me. But I'm good, actually, I didn't do anything wrong.

It's just that for a woman acting as an equal feels impolite.

So there's that. Never knew I'd discover this deep of an effect gender socialization has on us. Thought I'd share.
