i have this project about web accessibility, and it is WILD how many websites do not have proper alt text for images. i looked at the code for our biggest news page (NRK) and they don't even do it consistently. most pages i looked at, if they have any alt text at all, it's often just the title of the image. or if it's an image associated with an article it's just the title of the article or the name of the person in the image. online stores often have alt text that is just the product name.

#it's actually crazy how bad accessibility is once you go down the rabbit hole of educating yourself #i'm very lucky to not need any special accommodations online #other than maybe be able to adjust text size and color contrast bc of eye strain #last week we had this exercise to buy plane tickets online using just our keyboards (bc some people are unable to use a mouse)#and it was literally impossible #we got stuck choosing the right flight bc the tab button just wouldn't work #stina.txt #master stuff
