I had an emotional breakdown at work today. That's always the beginning of the end.

Porsche & Arrested Development
I want to piggyback off of this post by atlasshrugd. Go check out that post because there are some gems in there. I agree with that user for the most part but I want to examine it from a different angle. Yes, Kinn didn't tell Porsche exactly why he needs to stay away from the minor family, and Vegas by extension. Which is where Kinn fucked up honestly. I think the disconnect comes from the fact that we, the audience, know what Vegas is capable of. We saw Vegas drug Porsche and attempt to sexually assault him. To some people, it makes no sense whatsoever for him to trust Vegas.
I think that's why some people are less forgiving when it comes to Porsche trusting him. Even though we know what happened, Porsche doesn't. I can't fault him for that because he doesn't know what he doesn't know. I think the audience forgets that the characters don't know what we know. This is where Kinn screwed up though - he should have been far more open and honest about why Vegas couldn't be trusted in the first place. He should have elaborated on why he felt that way instead of vaguely warning Porsche away from him. Porsche is in a state of arrested development, right? He had to grow up pretty quickly when his parents died so he had to raise his brother and take on the role of guardian since his uncle wasn't equipped to do so.
Arrested development refers to the stoppage of physical development, emotional development or mental development before reaching adulthood.(x)
Because he is in this state of arrested development, Porsche is still very much like a teenager. He's impulsive. He doesn't listen. He rebels. He acts out in ways that could quite literally get him killed. The quickest way to get a teenager to do something is to tell them not to do it. If you tell a teenager not to befriend certain people, then they're gonna go out of their way to do the exact opposite of that. You can't just tell Porsche not to do something because he's not going to listen. Which is strange because he falls for pretty lies that make him feel seen and heard.
But I think that's due to how he and Kinn's dynamic started - I think Porsche saw Kinn as more of an authority figure than an equal, so Kinn telling him anything is the equivalent of your father forbidding you from dating the person you like. Kinn isn't going to say anything hella mushy to Porsche. He prefers to give him the harsh truth, which Porsche can't handle. Despite all of that, he is still very sensitive so you have to handle Porsche with a gentle hand. Which is how Vegas managed to get as close to Porsche as he did. Porsche didn't have a lot of emotional validation and support growing up after his parents died, so that's how he prefers people to deal with him - hold his hand and tell him how pretty he is and how much you love him. Again, which are all things Vegas did. Kinn does this too in his own way, but Vegas has never said anything too harsh to Porsche the entire time they've known each other. At least he didn’t prior to his big villain speech in this last episode.
Porsche has street smarts but he's still naive and wet behind the ears (inexperienced and immature). As much as people talk about how naive and trusting Chay is, we all have to admit that this is all of his brother's doing. Porsche is exactly the same but on a lesser scale. He needs to get to a place where he's more suspicious and less trusting. Especially if he intends on staying in this world and being with Kinn. He has to learn to keep people at a distance. Be cordial but don't get too close. Understand that just because someone says something that sounds good doesn't mean they're being honest or that they have your best interests at heart. In that world, words don't mean shit. They mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. You have mob bosses sitting at the same table smiling and making niceties with each other in one moment. And in the next moment, they're pointing guns at each other and lobbying threats left and right.
All in all, I believe that Porsche has learned a hard lesson already. I think all of this will serve to make him move differently within that world now. I have faith that he could take this lesson to heart. Or at least I hope so.
