That's too easy gotta pick the biggest hurt of the hurt (I did acknowledge that all of these are awful </3 Liked seeing how people ranked said hurt and again wish we had ranked polls).

I remember reading the first thirty-seven chapters after completing the series for the first time (watched season 1 then read starting at chapter 38 because I was impatient) and thinking that the tradeoff of losing Demizu's gorgeous backgrounds was an acceptable cost for the little animated nuances we got

(I'll never be over how palpable the fear is on their faces as we see their noses scrunch up in abject, visceral horror, though we also lose some of the fine detail on the still wonderfully animated demons.)

along with other advantages of the medium shift (hearing "Isabella's Lullaby" come to life is such a beautiful, haunting experience). I could deal with the physical setting of Grace Field being scaled down for how its deceptively oppressive aura came to life through its occupants.

S2 though scaled back on visuals in all categories so much though (not nearly as many dynamic, intense shots like what we get between Norman and Ray in S1e05, for example) and it didn't have the writing to make up for it.

But like I said previously each of the locations listed in the polls could have easily blown the animation budget with all of their visual intricacies. Like imagine the Seven Walls with a Your Name-level budget and the time to let its atmosphere really breathe.

And then if the guy Vylk saw in his flashback in S2e09 explaining how he came across the Minerva pen chip was Lucas or Yuugo it just adds insult to injury. 💀

*We never got to see the Paradise Hideout in its proper glory, along with all the characters introduced during that arc

**Isabella being reintroduced back into the story differently in S2e04 but still following the same path she took in the manga (minus her dying)
