in the age of AIs and scraping and binge watching and ever-growing pressure to become a content creator, an influencer, an "how-many-followers-do-you-have"; I think I'm going to have to make a choice.

and my choice, my promise to myself is this; I will find unbridled joy in creation. I will love the the things I make, because I made them. I will not worry about the time, or the efficiency, or whether I create enough. I will create out of love. I will find joy in what my friends, my acquaintances, strangers across the world are creating. On their own time; freely given out of love.

In the end I'm going to choose not to let it get to me, not to let it matter, how the world cycles and churns a grinds.

It does not matter; because I love.

I love all the details, her scars, the sea dragon and sea dragon head, the jewelry, the Frostmark Mountain range on her collar bone, not to mention the serithan itself, which is incredible detailed and stunning. I love the take on the (ill gotten) Lars Drakehand jewelry!

2. Any sleep habits either had to get used to?

Renila: Akila's probably had to get used to Ren's weird sleeping patterns, aka ability to wake up at will in the middle of the night and be functional. See, Akila grew up surrounded by luxury and leisure in Joko's harem, so Ren's work habits that bleed into her everyday life have probably been a bit of a 0-0 to her when they started living together. On Ren's end, she probably had to get used to Akila sleeping in late more than she does, so she had to be extra quiet to not wake her girlfriend up.

Shiverpeaks Rose: Mirka's had to get used to Fiadh glowing at night. She's used to sleeping in darkness like most people, then she starts living with Fiadh who's a glowstick and a constant source of light in a dark room. That's okay, though. She's the wife.

8. What’s one way their personalities compliment one another?

Renila: See, they're both pretty smart women, pretty perceptive. They have to be, to do what they do (Akila's also a spy, but for Order of Shadows. She joins them after Ren rescued her from the harem.) But I feel like Akila's marginally gentler than Ren is, and also more in tune with herself. That stability that Ren's lacked for a long time is what draws her in, I think. Akila hasn't had to switch identities in quite the same way Ren has, after all.

Shiverpeaks Rose: Fiadh reignited some of Mirka's sense of adventure that stopped for the most part when she had Kov. Dating someone so different from you (in culture, certainly, but in race as well) has been something Mirka never really expected to have but she's loving it, actually.

19. How do they deal with being away from each other for a long time?

Renila: They take a chill night in. Have a glass of wine in their living room, talk about what had had happened in their absence, lazily cuddle/make out, etc. Just enjoying each other's company after being away for so long. Just casual, domestic gfs living their best sappy life.

Shiverpeaks Rose: Spend time with Kov, certainly, but when he's in bed, they go to a moot, have some fun, hunt together. Fly around on Hydra Breacher too, for a good measure.

39. What other couple would your otp get along with the best?

Renila: Nyra and Trahearne? That's the vibes, still tentative. Ren and Nyra are friends, though, so why wouldn't they get along w/ each other's partners, as well..?

Ren and Alar. Starry Velantis night I commissioned from a wonderful Kuwagatata. Their backgrounds are just incredible. There is no such moment in the game and I don't know if there will be an opportunity to relax, but I really wanted to give boys some peace and quiet. If describe the situation, Al went out to relax and he himself wasn't expecting to start dancing, but he needed somehow to get rid of heavy thoughts, at least for a while. Ren turned out to be in the exact same place by chance. Perhaps he had some business to attend to? But he happened to notice Alar and stayed to watch him stealthily. And then he felt something. Something in his chest that bating, squeezing, trembling. Magnetizing to another creature. I highly recommend listening to MAMAMOO - Starry night and Tiffany Young - Magnetic Moon. Very suited to the situation and it atmosphere.

got my new bottle of my regular cologne today and since the gift giving season is rapidly upon us I am going to share my favorite perfumer with you all in case you've got young adult book nerds or dnd players who already have a library card and too many dice but who haven't quite figured out what they wanna smell like on your list: wylde ivy

They've got collections (w/ sampler sets, if you're looking for gifts) based on:

Edgar Allen Poe (smell like coffee and leather. It's not labeled unisex, but ymmv; i have a midnight dreary + this castle by the sea which have notes of leather/coffee/smoke + stone/salt/wood/sage. The other scents in the collection lean floral, sweet and fruity. Kind of a gender maximalist collection. For your coolest friend.)

the Concept of Adventure (my favorite, both for myself + for giving gifts to people who like games and stories with sprawling maps- wayfarer. unisex collection)

Ren faires (unisex, and also one of them has notes of corn?? apparently??? so)

3 different types of ocean/sea sets, not counting Wayfinder which has some sea-adjacent scents

Tbh most perfumes/colognes dont make great gifts for my friends, because a lot of them are still figuring out their shit, the perfume scents aren't well explained, or the obviously gendered scent isn't gonna work. Instead i can get either a full bottle of Fun Space perfume or a sampler of 5 bottles of Rock Themed Perfumes. You can make your own sampler of their entire stock or a premade themed set. It's fun to walk out the door going "i smell like an old map :)" and they've so far been a hit as gifts. Also you can choose to smell like smoke and corn. And I think you should choose to smell like smoke and corn, if given the option

Another town to traverse through simply meant more leg work for him once the steps spent on keeping his brother in line of sight were also accounted for. Not to mention all the extra attempts the wayfaring wizard threw in by way of attempting to shake Birvor off his trail to do gods knew what. That was his agitated excuse to their cleric in response as to why he felt the need to keep his overbearing antics up after she made gesture to where Ren stood obliviously in the foyer of a nearby shop, thumbing through books like the actual nerd he was. Damn her- she even quirked a brow at him like he'd grown another head. Clearly the cleric didn't know what youth cut loose were capable of getting themselves into, especially in his brother's case when the lad hadn't been let outside but maybe a couple times of the year, and no farther than the gate of their courtyard. Which for a high city home was only about a few hundred square feet out before the street. Still, if anything Birvor thought he was being more than lenient these days seeing as the tether between them was now long enough to not alert him as he stood on the street's edge and waited for his brother to finish his shopping trip while simultaneously making anyone else inside the shop unfortunate enough to peer out the smudged window uncomfortable with his mean mugging.

Although shopping trips were becoming easier to deal with, taverns were still iffy to him. Why yes, he'd absolutely prefer to spend the evening practically bowling his brother over from behind just to ensure there wouldn't be room for any wandering rogues with a scent of lost rich boy in their noses to slide a dagger between them. Never mind they already had a rogue following them much to Birvor's ire. To make matters worse, Ren had been utterly clueless when he'd informed the rogue in their party that they were from the high city in Baldur's Gate and on their way back. For all the books Ren read, it seemed he didn't learn anything except that strangers with attractive faces always had the best intentions at heart. The half-orc could gag about it, he really could-

After some firm words, a shove or two, and the promise the cleric would keep an eye out while she and Ren grabbed refreshments, Birvor had little more to say on the matter when a line of dancers darted between the lot of them, cutting him off from the rest of the party who seemed none the wiser save for Ren who turned to give him a little wave and a smug look before joining the rest of the crew at the table-top bar further up along the tavern tent's outskirts. He had half a mind to stampede after them, but he supposed he could save the effort until it was really needed. The dancers that were in his way would be spared ...for now.

Instead, he plopped back onto a bench surrounded by some crates and watched the other side of the tent where his party was, tusks grinding into his bottom lip in agitation. Of course they were all over there laughing...enjoying themselves without him. Better to just leave it at that, he thought pettily, hoping the dancers would pull any of them in to their undertow and leave them trapped in the throes of liquid-courage fueled movement. Maybe then they wouldn't be so keen to wander off. He almost smiled at the thought, though halfway through the curling of lips, he caught sight of the stranger next to him and froze.

A shade of green in their skin and the large curve of their tusks caused something in his heart to clench and hike halfway up his throat. For a moment, he was back in a dark hallway under the looming stature of an orc who regarded him with the same indifference of a dog faced with a single piece of kibble. He let out a shaky breath and shook his head to rouse his sensibilities. No-...not an orc. Just another half-orc like him? Though he'd yet to see another in their travels so far. Perhaps his staring had alarmed her, because before he knew it- she was wheeling round to address him. His eyes cut heavily to the side to avoid looking like he'd been observing her for the short amount of time he had been, though he tilts his face in to catch the end of her grumblings just in time for their message to sour his expression. "Oi- what's that 'en? Ever think...if your eyes got a job to do, ya ought... oh, I dunno-" He clicked his teeth, elbow propped upon his thigh now popping up his jaw that he ground furiously in to the speckled belly of his palm. "-keepin'em to yerself??" Because he hadn't been staring a bit too long to warrant drawing her suspicions in, no- definitely not.

Noting the sharp end of her spear in the candle light, he bristled figuring she was likely the only person in the tent he had to worry about should things go south any time soon. Though his immediate response to being told to fuck off in basic terms was to cross his arms and spread his legs a little wider to take up more space on the bench. Send a little message her way that he was not about to be bullied off the best spot in the tent to keep an eye on the goings on. Granted, the smooth, scarless state of his face was not exactly a deterrent in that regard.

"Babysittin' with a twist, izzit? Can't say I can relate 'cause I never sucked so much eggs at it to warrant a choppin' block. Hells, guess Baldur's Gate is a lot more civilized than these parts after all." He added, not noticing how his agitated shifting had bumped a lit candle nearby which toppled off the bench and rolled off someplace below still burning.

Ren Varadon is an assassin. A street urchin from the Undercity, he was recruited into the Swiftmark chapter of the Erebian League at a young age. He stayed with the League for most of his adult life. After many years plying his trade for the Velantian elite, he abandoned the League during a crisis of faith and turned himself into the authorities.

Physical Attributes:

Height: 1,83m (6ft)

Weight: 82kg (180lb)

Black hair (kept short on sides and medium on top) and dark brown eyes, he is very characteristic of his ethnicity. Somewhat long, down-pointed nose, fairly flat cheekbones and a slim, rectangular jaw. He's not particularly handsome but he's not unattractive; he's just a guy. However, he is a fair bit tall and spends spare time at the gym or playing recreational basketball. He has a fit physique, especially his shoulders, arms and quads. He has numerous freckles on his face, hands, shoulders and upper back from sun exposure.

Style and Appearance:

Day-to-day he dresses fairly plainly: solid-colored shirts, tees or sweatshirts with neatly ironed or otherwise well-maintained slacks or jeans. Occasionally he wears a patterned shirt. At home loungewear, pajamas or gym clothes: anything goes. Bright, mismatched patterns and colors, crazy designs and characters on shirts. He tends to prefer classic, short running shorts when he is working out or swimming. No jewelry. Sunglasses are Wayfarer-style and black/black. Typically, he carries a leather or solid-colored nylon shoulder bag. He has a penchant for wearing red socks and underwear, briefs specifically. Up until his older years he is clean-shaven; in his mid-forties or so he takes a liking to the moustache.

Personality:

He's a pure simple optimist with his heart on his sleeve and it ends up biting him in the ass constantly. He ends up coming off as a pushover but really he's just a softie. He's not particularly intelligent but he's passionate about his career and his athletic hobbies. He's a caregiver by nature and his love language is absolutely acts of service. He can see the best in everyone, often to the detriment of their relationship.

Brief Background:

Born in Japan, Toshiya is the eldest of two boys. His parents were on the older side, in their mid-thirties, when he was born. Life was on the easy side of average because of their established careers as a police officer and owner/operator of a small housekeeping business. He was a mamas boy from the get go and was up until the very end. His parents worked hard and lobbied hard to win a spot in a prestigious/elite international academy for Toshiya. There he would thrive, become far more worldly than them, and have a better chance at a better life.

Come time for senior high school and his best friend, Max Klaasen, is leaving Japan for Germany. Toshiya is gutted but by their second year there's nothing interesting going on at home so he figures out how to go to an international exchange program and he ends up in Germany. The arrangement works well and he returns on a student visa for the rest of his education, even attending university there.

While in university he explores himself but ends up getting his girlfriend pregnant. She has the baby, a daughter named Natascha, but the relationship doesn't last. They're amicable but that's it. Before the girl turns three his visa expires and he has to make the choice between which country he wants to be in: go back to Japan, his home, or stay in Germany for his daughter but his Japanese citizenship is revoked.

Needless to say nearly all of his income goes back to Germany or is spent on trips to visit the love of his life, his precious daughter. He has little time for personal indulgences, like a coveted romantic relationship, so he spends his free time working out and playing recreational basketball.
