ahsjsk omfg I'm honoured 😭 the image of jbd has been stuck in my head all day because of this au! I apologise if this post gets long...

- their song is poker face by lady gaga but slowed down okay like this is PEAK mob loosier vibes

- they get assigned as partners under Corrigan's sector, which means having to bunk down in an apartment in a rundown area of the city together

- leckie does NOT like hoosier at first; he's too sarcastic and blunt in his nature and leckie finds it hard to get a grip on him

- this means they clash a lot for the first year working together but hoosier is the best shot on the team, not to mention his torture techniques would break the toughest of men, and leckie is the brains behind the operations as well as a skilled getaway driver so skills-wise they're perfect together

- things change after an operation involving a faulty explosion, leckie thinks hoosier gets hit but turns out he's fine (beside a few cuts and bruises), leckie loses his shit with him and has him pressed against a wall growling about "incompetence and disregard for anybody else"

- nobody can blame hoosier for getting a little excited in the moment, he says it's the adrenaline, and he pulls leckie down into a bruising (literally) kiss which leckie melts into

- from then on they're basically the power duo of the sector, always got each other's six and taking on every operation Corrigan throws their way

- they're soon the most feared names in the city, everyone knows who they are and nobody in their right mind wants to mess with them

- they're close with Runner and Chuckler, another duo based nearby under their sector (they've had to do a few operations together)

- leckie is a not-so-secret bookworm, he collects so many vintage books and their apartment is full of them

- hoosier may or may not have 'adopted' a dog that was left behind from a target they had to take out

- when an operation goes horribly wrong resulting in hoosier being taken captive...all hell breaks loose

- like, just imagine leckie with all his rage, packing up shotguns and rifles and a knife (because you can never be too prepared) ready to rescue his man

- he (and their friends) finds hoosier beaten and bloody tied go a chair in a dingy abandoned factory that's acting as base for one of their rival gangs and leckie goes feral on them

- it's a planned out rescue mission, chuckler knocks out the guards easily, runner has found blueprints of the building and got a makeshift bomb wired up too because he's just that smart, and leckie wastes no bullets

- not a single guy is left breathing by the time they emerge from the building supporting a semi-concious hoosier

- something that hoosier never lets leckie forget, he teases him constantly about how he came to save his 'damsel in distress'

- he's also the worst during his recovery, getting leckie to do everything for him and complaining constantly (he's restless and bored and he definitely hates the idea of leckie going out without his partner-in-crime)

- they ooze charm too, so when they're on undercover missions set out to find the rats or get close to big, rich folk they're usually the go-to in the sector

- leckie will flash his charming smile and hoosier is such a damn flirt (leckie definitely doesn't get jealous and drag hoosier to an empty room in the middle of the gatherings at all) but it works, they secure countless business partners for Corrigan

- they still argue like an old married couple though, even in the middle of shootouts where they'll be bickering and shouting at each other over the fire of bullets and insulting each other

- on days off they prefer to lounge at home watching reruns of sitcoms or old western because they're both nerds, lazily kissing under blankets and ordering take-out because neither of them are brilliant cooks

- hoosier has a strange obsession with leckie's shaved hair, he loves to run his hands over it whenever he can

- likewise, leckie refuses to let hoosier cut his hair because he most definitely loves to card his fingers through it and grip it tight when they're getting handsy

these have all pretty much been thought up on the spot and thrown together because my brain has no sense of organisation 😅
