Brandon Urie excorcized all his talent into Death of a Bachelor, which is the only explanation I have as to why that album slaps so hard but everything afterwards is ehhh to awful at best

#dumb stuff#panic! at the disco#patd#p!atd#brendon urie#death of a bachelor#it might also be a hint of nostalgia since that album came out right as i started college#but i still think that album fucks hard despite it being a urie solo project#he got all his best songs out first then languished in mid territory before destroying his voice with coke

hello people I though I should probably post an intro or something so here :3
nova/noah^^
I AM A MINOR
I'm trans masc and I use he him but I don't really mind :3
I'm also bi (I think??) and I have a super cool girlfriend who is the best ever
I'm neurodivergent and get hyperfixated very easily
I live in the UK which is really helping my horrible horrible depression
some of my current hyperfixations are
•generation loss
•the magnus archives
•my chemical romance (especially the album lore)
•the umbrella academy
I'm just a massive nerd in general and I rant about my interests a lot
I really like music too and I play guitar, violin, piano and a tiny bit of bass but I'm not very good
I mainly listen to 2000s pop punk/emo so like mcr, patd, fob, ptv
I also really like random music and some of my current favs are
•radiohead
•will wood
•arctic monkeys
•mitski
•the front bottoms
so yes that's me for now if any of you want to know :3
I'll probably be ranting on here about genloss, music, magpod, welcome to nightvale and maybe more stuff<3

I think I could go into about how it was very obvious that Brendon has always wanted to make an album like Viva Las Vengeance, but has hadn't really allowed himself to.
But I would have to expose how much of a fan of Glam Rock music I am, and I can't possibly expose that side of me. Because I will not shut up once I start.
Instead have the best Christmas song ever from a band that PATD covered in the Vices & Virtues era!

Okay before i can muster up the courage to look at my embarrassing concert videos (I am screaming in all of them but my vocal cords can't really yell or scream loudly so it just sounds like a half wail followed by coughs lmfao),
General ~vibes~ of the Fall Out Boy show in Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA
Had the best time. It was quite different from the 4 other concerts I've been to before (all kpop & all different venues) so I didn't have a frame of reference and it felt all very new.
Once through a quick bag check, security, ticket scan, shoreline amphitheater had a lot of food and merch before you get to the actual seating.
There was a lot of food options and a Lot of alcohol offers. I don't drink, and I really dislike the smell & being surrounded by alcohol/drunk people, so i put on a mask. But that's more of a me-specific thing. Everyone looked like they had a good time chilling with drinks and food.
Merch: from the area I was in, right inside the gate, there was 2 merch tables back to back, carried fob & opening acts merch. Line was about 30 minutes. The size I wanted was gone so I got the size up.
Openers: unfortunately I missed the first two openers, but managed to catch a few bmth songs. They were really good. The vibes of the crowd was different than for fob, more people were yelling & standing on the seats. idk much about bmth but they sounded good, the lead singer was charismatic, I'd be interested in checking their stuff out. (+ a couple in front of me, with the girl who didn't want stop standing on the seat when the bmth asked everyone to sit down for the last song, left like after sugar? Which was honestly great for me bc the guy was tall lol)
A lot less people were filming (compared to kpop, which makes sense) and everyone was vibing. Lots of dancing, waving arms, clapping, just having a lot of fun. (The couple next to me were making out half the time and kind of slow grinding? which was interesting shsj)
The pink seashell project! I wasn't able to find people who were handing them out, but it looked like a lot of people had them ready (even the couple on the other side of me, who were both really chill/casually bopping to fob, whipped them out for fake out). I ended up using my lightstick for the pink light, but it was amazing to see the pink lights irl. Just so so pretty.
There aren't much breaks or ments in between sections of songs. Usually pete will say a couple of lines (s/o to support act, smfs album, succession speech-interrupted by Patrick banter!-patrick saying pete just disappears again, patrick piano enrichment, 8ball ments, encore line). Everything ran smoothly in a set pace.
Pete in the Box; our venue didn't have a catwalk like bmo stadium did, but he still popped up for dance dance in the little area between the 100s and 200s! I knew it was coming but was still surprised when the spotlight beamed at pete across the venue.
A LOT OF CONFETTI FOR SATURDAY. I was in like the first 15 row and the whole lower 100s were COVERED in bnw confetti and streamers.
People watching: its the bay area, but even for that, gay people. Gay people everywhere, icluding me. (/j). Lots of people in black, celestial/star prints, mesh and fishnets, belts, and a lots of eyeliner and purple lipstick (so, a lot of hot people). but not everyone were in black/alt/emo, there was a lot of people in band tees (saw hella mega, green day, blink 182, even a corporate rainbow patd urie shirt, which hmmm.) It was really fun to people watch in lines, bc it was exactly what you'd see at a fall out boy concert in the best way.
After the show, a kind soul gave me a save rock and roll bracelet, which made the whole experience perfect.
And of course. Fall out boy put on an amazing show. The light effects, the Pyro, the plastic bubble balloons, streamers, etc were so engaging, and the performances were amazing. (Patrick, hand in marriage. Please)

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was a album so good the band basically died on the spot after it and then Brendon Urie proceeded to do his best to Weekend at Burnie's and Thesus Ship PatD! til he couldn't anymore and finally put down it down officially long after many of the members of the band left

hello. please explain in as much detail as is comfortable how your music taste has grown and changed over the course of your life. thank you. ?<- question mark for redundancy since you said to ask it but i accidentally didnt phrase it that way
Hi!!! Thank you for this question
So one thing you gotta understand is we're the son of two professional orchestra violinists so a lot of our early introductions to music were classical with the exception of fiona apple when our mom introduced us to the album extraordinary machine when we were like 7. we also listened to a lot of stephane grappelli and django reinhardt, ella fitzgerald singing harold arlen, duke ellington - jazz is one of our favorite genres to this day and fiona is an all time favorite artist so clearly that era stuck with us. lots of the Beatles also and we have a soft spot for some of their songs despite despising them as an entity
we'd listen to radio pop on our computer and record shit thru the speaker onto our shitty voice recorder so we could play in the backyard and listen to it this was a no phone no ipod era
the first artist I can remember us really getting into on our own was owl city before we found out he's rather Christian which we don't really vibe with. our best friend at the time introduced us to some classic rock especially queen. somewhere along the way we discovered patd by watching some random speedpaint and then got rly into them age like 10-11. some mcr too but we never had a fall out boy phase Hashem bless.
I remember buying a Florence + the machine cd at Barnes and noble at like 11? 12? Lungs which is a great album I've always loved their music but I didn't list any of their albums on my big list of favorites just now bc I take issue with some shit she's done. Also got into Muse around that time I think
2012 is when shit really started the idler wheel by fiona apple came out and we were a hot mess so it rly resonated with us. This is also when we got into andrew bird. Discovered a bunch of shit - soley, daughter, marina, lana. really mentally ill period
After summer camp 2013 I got into arctic monkeys and vampire weekend which was at the time really transformative to our approach to music. Then we started dating someone with rly fucking good music taste and everything really fell into place. Got rly into alt-J on my own but my now-ex showed me james blake, rory ferreira, sufjan stevens, the antlers, death grips, bunch of shit. I started getting more into hip hop, got into chance the rapper for a bit before realizing he's kinda mid though acid rap does rly hold up, also discovered glass animals in like 2015, really there was a lot of stuff I don't have very good memory of this time period
2016 was like. Vince staples car seat headrest deerhoof Hiatus kaiyote whatever the kids at Berklee summer were listening to...got rly into a sun kil moon album but later found out he did some creep shit so we don't listen to that anymore which sucks. Our then best friend got us into gorillaz and Kate bush
2017-19 we discovered king krule and mount eerie among other things which was epic and cool. Phil elverum sees straight into our mind it was a revelation. Rory ferreira only keeps getting better and better. Too many things to name. Hyperpop, sophie and PC music, lots of blood orange, we were chronically high as shit
2020 we holed up in the upstairs of our house with a dude who no longer speaks to us to record an album of original music. I finally decided to listen to talking heads and my world was blown open. Also the era of listening to let's eat grandma and grimes (I know) while flagrantly psychotic in quarantine. Shabazz palaces black up shoutout and all the random goofy shit my (ex) bandmate showed me also fugazi
2021 i broke up with good music taste ex and started dating someone else also with very good music taste but in a different direction, got into the Mars Volta and a bunch of shit here you go
And the 2022 one is even longer. By a lot. it speaks for itself really fucking good year for music
And this year I've been getting more into punk shit like cherubs, special interest, a frames; finally got into sonic youth the other day, lots more deerhoof too.
extremely long response thank u so very much for letting us ramble about this!! 💓

idk man like i'm usually not a fan of an artist just playing their entire new discography in a row for a concert set list (i.e patd) but it's fine if i want certain songs to be played that would otherwise never be played bc most groups tend to stick to their more popular songs
fall out boy and bmth i get 100% they have so many albums that literally getting a specific song i want sounds like a pipe dream but come on now cater to me :(( and dont play the songs i want at other tour dates jfc
**i joke w love ofc still the best concert i've been to probs**
#im trying to rationalize the fact that i'm never going to hear hospital for souls live lmao#but tbh it's just not a performing type of song also it's like 6 mins long lmao#but alpha dog is v much doable if you're gonna do bob dylan#but i need it just for me
