#was clicking around various fromsoft wikipedia articles and found this bit of criticism on malenia's#fromsoft certainly has some Questionable™ moments with female characters/designs but uh. this is quite a take#'brokenness disfigurement abandonment and loss' you mean the traits that are basically universal to fromsoft NPCs and worlds as a whole?#'the only cure is to enact succinct violence'...aka how you defeat essentially every boss in any combat based video game???#'void of needs or motivations' you can just critique the character lore for being too opaquely delivered. that's valid#but it's disingenuous to act like it's not there at all#i think i need to lie down now#i was just thinking literally this morning how interesting fromsoft's female characters are so this was a wild read#'afflicted by gender' is a very funny and highly relatable phrase though#kathryn plays video games
