Navigating the Challenges: The Dynamics of Afghan Logistics
Navigating the Challenges: The Dynamics of Afghan Logistics
Afghanistan, a nation with a rich history, has long been at the crossroads of trade and commerce. The success of any economic endeavor in this region relies heavily on efficient logistics, a critical component that facilitates the movement of goods, services, and resources. As Afghanistan emerges from decades of conflict, the focus on establishing robust logistical frameworks becomes paramount for sustainable development.
Geographical Complexity:
Afghanistan’s rugged terrain poses a formidable challenge to logistics operations. The mountainous landscapes and vast deserts make transportation difficult and time-consuming. In this context, the development of modern infrastructure, including roads and bridges, becomes crucial for facilitating the smooth flow of goods across the country.
Security Concerns:
Security remains a top concern in Afghanistan, impacting the movement of goods and the overall Afghan Logistics network. The presence of insurgent groups and the historical context of conflict necessitate careful planning and coordination to ensure the safety of shipments. The integration of advanced security measures and collaboration with local authorities are essential aspects of managing these risks.
Tumblr media
Cross-Border Trade:
Afghanistan shares borders with key trading partners, including Iran, Pakistan, and Central Asian countries. The efficiency of cross-border trade is vital for economic growth. Addressing bureaucratic hurdles, improving customs procedures, and fostering diplomatic ties are instrumental in creating a conducive environment for seamless cross-border logistics.
Infrastructure Development:
Investing in infrastructure is pivotal for transforming Afghanistan’s logistics landscape. The construction of modern transportation hubs, warehouses, and Afghan Logistics centers can streamline supply chains, reduce transit times, and enhance overall efficiency. International collaborations and partnerships can play a significant role in funding and executing these infrastructure projects.
Technology Adoption:
The integration of modern technologies such as GPS tracking, blockchain, and data analytics can revolutionize Afghan Logistics. These technologies not only enhance visibility and transparency in the supply chain but also contribute to the optimization of routes, reducing costs and increasing overall efficiency.
Human Capital Development:
Building a skilled workforce is essential for the effective management of logistics operations. Training programs and educational initiatives can empower individuals with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the complexities of the logistics industry. This, in turn, contributes to the sustainable growth of the Afghan economy.
Global Partnerships:
Engaging in strategic partnerships with international organizations and neighboring countries can provide Afghanistan with valuable support in developing its logistics capabilities. Collaborative efforts in areas such as trade agreements, infrastructure development, and knowledge exchange can foster a more interconnected and resilient Afghan Logistics network.
Conclusion:
Afghanistan’s journey towards economic prosperity hinges on the successful development of its logistics infrastructure. Overcoming geographical challenges, addressing security concerns, and embracing technological advancements are crucial steps in this process. By investing in human capital and fostering global partnerships, Afghanistan can position itself as a key player in regional trade and commerce, unlocking new opportunities for growth and development.

Bringing the world together through supply chain management
Tumblr media
What exactly is supply chain management A visit to any supermarket or a hyper store will tell you many stories. If you buy a few shelf items which include electronics, groceries, clothes, and medicines, you will discover many things. If you observe the labels only, you will discover that most of these bought goods have been manufactured either in China or even in Mexico. That coffee that you consume every day comes from Africa. The computers that we use every day have been shipped out of Taiwan. The rice that we eat every day, is from Pakistan. World markets are expanding every single day. They have gone beyond borders into other territories as well. The usual way to address the supply and demand issue has changed for the better. It has a global perspective to it now. Global businesses are driven by markets in multiple countries and continents. To bring manufacturing costs down, global businesses have expanded into areas and regions where the cost of labor and raw materials is cheap. When it comes to raw material procurement and sourcing, a dynamic procurement strategy must be in place. It should be spanning across countries. This strategy, if properly executed will make sure that vendors supply on time, at the desired price, and to multiple locations. Keeping the above scenario in mind, one comes across businesses sourcing raw materials globally from assorted vendors to supply raw materials to their manufacturing units located in different locations, usually a considerable distance apart. The final finished products go through multiple chains of the distribution network. This includes warehouses, export to other countries and their local markets, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and eventually to the end-user. Simply speaking, the management of the above-listed activities to counter the demand and supply, on a world scale is called supply chain management. The definition of supply chain management is “all business processes and activities involving procurement of raw materials, manufacturing, and distribution management of finished goods is called supply chain management.” This is the art of management that provides the right product, at the right time, at the right location, at the right cost, and to the right customer. The importance of supply chain management The strategy of the supply chain is the spine of modern businesses. The market coverage, and access to products across multiple locations, depend on the quality and effectiveness of the existing supply chain strategy. When a new product enters the market and is advertised, the entire market within that country and all the sale points need to stock that product, so that the customer and buy it or take doorstep delivery. If the product is not available at the right time, it can drop customer interest and customer demand. This can have disastrous consequences. Another aspect that is important is the transportation network design and management of the fleet. This is extremely beneficial for the support of the sales and marketing strategy. Two critical elements that impact the balance sheet’s bottom line are inventory control and inventory visibility. Both of these elements are cost drivers. An inventory that has value is an asset to any business. All businesses have a standard vis-à-vis inventory turnaround. It must be optimal for the business. How many times the inventory was sold and replenished over a calendar year is what is referred to as inventory turnaround. The health of the inventory is a reflection of the health of the business. In a global situation, finished goods are stored at many locations and distribution centers. These are managed by third parties. Everything that is in transportation, everything that is stocked with distributors, and retail stocking points are also part of the overall inventory. Any loss of inventory would be a loss in value. Thus, proper control and visibility of inventory are very important aspects of the function known as supply chain management. Read the full article

Tax deductions with Accounting Software in Pakistan
Erpisto #1 Accounting Software in Pakistan There is a lot of confusing and contradictory information available. It's difficult to grasp what a sole owner needs to do to understand the tax ramifications of running their business between the website and sites with a lot of adverts. That's why we decided to write this guide — no adverts, fluff, or technical jargon, just straightforward, easy-to-understand facts. Are you paying attention to what we're saying?
As a solo proprietor, you're always looking for ways to save money and increase your profits.
We understand. So, let's discuss about tax deductions for sole proprietorships.
The quick version is that more deductions equals lower taxes.
As a sole proprietor, it's in your best interest to take advantage of and maximize tax deductions. They'll lower your tax bill, allowing you to put more money into your company.
It's not easy to file taxes as a sole owner, so don't fret. We're here to assist you.
To begin, we'll go through the fundamentals of a sole proprietorship and how it's taxed. Then we'll go through many tax deductions you should be aware of and how to take advantage of them.
Erpisto #1 Accounting Software in Pakistan
Tumblr media
What are the signs that I'm a sole proprietor?
That is an excellent question. To assess your tax responsibilities, you must first decide if you are a sole proprietor. This is required in order to calculate your deductions!
Ownership is not restricted to a single industry. A lone proprietor is a person who owns and operates their own firm. Because it is not a legal corporation, the owner is responsible for all financial and legal obligations.
Even if you work as an independent contractor for one or two companies, you are very certainly a sole owner. In most cases, employers do not deduct taxes from an independent contractor's pay. You're probably a lone owner if no one is withholding your taxes.
The simplicity of starting a business as a lone owner is appealing. It's by far the simplest business to start because all you need is yourself and a set of abilities. Here's an example of a sole proprietorship business to get you started:
Services for computer repair
Freelance writing or graphic design are two options.
Photography for a landscaping or lawn service
Do sole proprietors have to pay taxes on a quarterly basis?
If you're new to working for yourself, you'll need to brush up on your tax knowledge.
One significant distinction is the payment of estimated taxes. Because your company does not deduct this money from your paycheck, you must make these every quarter to assist you meet your tax obligations.
If you work with an accountant, they can assist you in calculating your quarterly single proprietor taxes.
You'll need to know your net profit or loss to make accurate payments. Any net income over $400 earned each year must be paid to the Accounting Software in Pakistan.
What is the best way for a sole proprietorship to pay taxes?
It's time to start thinking about taxes now that you've determined you're a sole owner. We understand that this isn't the most enjoyable subject.
We'll break things down for you and make the process a little easier.
The quickest and most convenient way to pay your lone proprietor taxes is to go to the website and pay online. You have the option of using your bank account, a debit card, or a credit card. You can plan payments in advance by using your bank account. Those paying by debit or credit card can now make a payment over the phone. You can send a check, but the fastest way is to do so online. If you can't pay your tax bill right away, you can set up a payment plan. It's worth noting that this figure could contain interest and late fees. Don't forget to visit the website of your state's Department of Revenue. They are in charge of state sole proprietorship taxes, and it is to them that you must submit your state payment. While you may owe less in state taxes than in federal taxes, it's still vital to pay them.
Do sole proprietorships have to pay sales tax?
As a result, if you manage a flower shop or an internet store, you'll have to pay state taxes on the items you sell. The state in which you live will determine your tax rate.
You won't have to pay sales taxes on your services if you're a writer or graphic designer, but you will have to pay state sole proprietorship taxes on the money you make.
What is the procedure for a lone proprietor to receive a tax refund?
Overpaying on quarterly projected payments is the greatest way for a solo proprietor to seek a refund. If you pay more than you think you owe, you'll have a better chance of getting a refund when you file your return.
If you pay more in the hopes of getting a refund, you'll miss out on the opportunity to put that money to better use throughout the year.
As a lone proprietor, what expenses may you deduct?
Now comes the fun part. Let's speak about the deductions you can take as a sole proprietor when submitting your taxes.
You can have a lot of inquiries, such as "how much of my phone can I deduct from my taxes?" or “Can a home repair be written off?”
Each of these is covered in detail in the sole proprietorship standards. However, to save you time (which we understand is valuable as a business owner), we've compiled a list of significant deductions to be aware of. This will assist you in lowering your sole proprietorship's tax burden.
Is it true that our initial costs are tax deductible?
You're well aware that beginning a business is a difficult task.
It's also quite costly.
You can, fortunately, deduct some of your charges. In your first year in business, the Accounting Software in Pakistan will allow you to claim up to $5,000 in deductions. Advertising, travel, and fees linked with services or consultants are examples of these costs.
All of your beginning costs should be treated as capital expenses, according to the IRS. While interest and taxes can be deductible in some situations, they cannot be deducted as startup costs on sole proprietorship taxes.
Getting your firm off the ground costs a lot of money.
Starting a business as a sole proprietorship has one of the lowest entry barriers. However, you will need to invest some money to get your idea off the ground, just like any other firm. Many of these costs can be deducted from your taxes as a sole proprietor.
The majority of businesses require a website. There are fees associated with getting a site online, whether you develop it yourself or hire an expert. You'll need to get a domain name and create landing pages, among other things. Each of these goods has a price tag attached to it. You may deduct each as a business cost on your single proprietorship taxes, which is wonderful news.
Continuing education is important.
Perhaps you'd want to attend a few classes to extend your horizons.
The cost of your own schooling is deductible. You can subtract classes that help you maintain or develop your abilities in your current field.
You must be able to demonstrate that the knowledge you received maintains or enhances the job-related abilities.
If you're an accountant, taking a culinary class is unlikely to be tax deductible (but it may save you money on client dinners).
Deductions for health-insurance premiums
You probably bought insurance from a private company or the Healthcare Exchange.
In most cases, you'll be able to deduct the cost of any health, dental, or eligible long-term care insurance you buy.
You, your spouse, and any dependents may be included. These are not only wonderful investments, but they also help you save money on your sole proprietorship taxes.
Taxes on Social Security and Medicare can be written off.
The deduction of Social Security and Medicare from most W-2 employees' paychecks is handled by their employer.
You'll have to handle this on your own as a lone proprietor. On your quarterly social security and Medicare payments made throughout the year, you can claim a 50% reduction.
Plans for Retirement
It's a no-brainer to put money into a retirement account. As a lone proprietor, it's even more critical to keep track of your finances. You can deduct portion of your contributions from your taxes, according to the Accounting Software in Pakistan.
Let's look at two of the most common programmes and how they affect your sole proprietorship taxes.
Roth IRA: Roth IRA contributions are not tax deductible. Traditional IRA: If you or your spouse (if you're married) aren't protected by an employer retirement plan, you can deduct your whole contribution. When it comes to single proprietorship taxes, the rules are a little more complicated. The amount deducted varies depending on the plan you choose and whether or not you contribute to it.
Tumblr media
It's beneficial to work in your pajamas.
In today's world, it's highly likely that you're working from home. Maybe that's where you've always worked. This space can be claimed as a deduction because it is used for a business. The Simplified Method and the Regular Method are the two procedures used by the Accounting Software in Pakistan for home office deductions. There are two key conditions that must be met regardless of the option you choose: Your home office should be your primary place of business and should be utilized solely for these purposes. It's where you do most of your business. We'll go over how to figure out how much your home office is worth and how much you may deduct. If you have a home office or a room that is utilized for that purpose.
Simplified Method:
This option became available in the 2013 tax year.
It does not modify the qualification standards, but it does make the calculation easier.
$5 per square foot is the standard deduction (up to 300 sq. feet).
Mortgage interest and real estate taxes, for example, may be eligible.
By decreasing the quantity of record-keeping, this strategy makes things simple.
Regular Method:
If you pursue the traditional approach, you'll need to figure up all of your home office expenses (utilities, mortgage interest, insurance, etc.)
Rather than cost per square foot, the deduction is based on the percentage of your home that is used for commercial purposes.
You may be able to claim direct and indirect expenses on your taxes if you use the traditional technique.
Here's the whole list of deductions you can take from your home office:
Losses due to rent casualties
Insurance against mortgage interest
Utilities
Depreciation
Repairs and maintenance
These write-offs are usually divided into two categories: direct and indirect charges. Repairs and upkeep to your office would be considered direct expenses because they are only tied to the commercial section of your house. Typically, these are entirely deductible. Indirect costs are those that apply to your entire home. Insurance and utilities, for example, are indirect because you use them for both commercial and personal purposes. To determine the permitted deduction, you'll need to compute the proportion usage of these items in relation to your firm.
Is it possible to deduct home repairs?
Home repairs that are directly relevant to your home office can be deducted. Perhaps you installed some storage, a new workstation, or repainted the room. These are costs that are tax deductible.
Unfortunately, deducting the cost of new kitchen countertops is not an eligible deduction.
What is the maximum proportion of utilities that I can claim?
When you saw utilities on the list, that was certainly one of the first things that came to mind.
Because home utilities overlap with personal use, you'll need to figure out what percentage of your home is used for business. You can use that formula to figure out how much of your utility costs you can deduct.
How can you figure out how much your home office is worth?
The Accounting Software in Pakistan allows you to depreciate the portion of your home that you use for business, but not the cost or value of the land. Before you depreciate your house, there are a few things you should know:
When you first started doing business out of your house.
The expense of upgrades done before and after you started doing business with it.
The proportion of your home that is used for business.
Your home's adjusted basis when you first started utilizing it for your business.
Alternatively, the fair market worth at the time you used it for business.
What if you rent?
Since we’ve talked about home office space, this may raise a question: “I’m a renter. Can I deduct rent on my sole proprietor taxes?”
The short answer is, yes. The same requirements apply to the business use of your home.
If you rent space (an office, co-working desk, store, etc.) you can use this as a deduction.
The IRS does have a caveat on what they refer to as “unreasonable rent.” Meaning, if you’re renting space from someone to whom you’re related, you need to pay them the same amount you would a stranger landlord. This situation typically only arises if you’re related, in some way, to the owner of the property.
Choosing a deduction option for a home office
If you're not sure which method is ideal for you, take out your calculator (also known as your cell phone) and conduct some calculations. If the projected deduction is close to the same, utilizing the simplified technique will likely save you time and frustration.
This is one of the best deductions for single proprietorship taxes, regardless of whatever option you choose.
Daycares are exempt from the rule. You can still claim a home deduction if you use your house to care for children, people over the age of 65, or people who are unable to care for themselves. You'll need to figure out how much of your home is used for childcare.
For your phone, there are deductions.
If you own a company, you're undoubtedly wondering, "How much of my phone can I deduct on my taxes?" After all, it's a significant element of your business. Cell phones aren't getting any less expensive, either (as we said earlier, it doubles as your calculator).
The IRS does not allow you to deduct the expense of your home's first phone line. Long-distance calls and the use of a dedicated business phone are both allowable deductions.
Deducting your travel and mileage expenditures
As a lone owner, you presumably use your vehicle for business activities, such as driving to meetings, conferences, and business meals, even if you usually work at home or at an office.
You are free to utilize the automobile in your personal life as well. If that's the case, you'll need to figure out what percentage your company uses.
It is possible to deduct mileage. This refers to journeys taken outside of your typical commute or within the approximate vicinity of your workplace and home.
Meals
The client dinner, oh, the client meal. Lunch is another option. Perhaps some coffee. Whether you like them or not, these meetings may pile up. Meals and entertainment expenses are normally eligible for a 50% deduction. The cost of travel to these meetings is a distinct expense that is not subject to the 50% rule.
When travelling for work, it's common to take advantage of free time and sight-seeing opportunities. You cannot deduct any expenses incurred during your vacation that are not relevant to your business (for example, travelling to a sporting event or visiting a museum).
Is it possible to claim coffee as a business expense?
If you enjoy coffee, you're in luck. In certain circumstances, you may be able to deduct your coffee expenses.
This is not deductible if you go to your local coffee shop for an afternoon pick-me-up. If you're meeting someone for a meeting, though, you can deduct 50% of the expense.
If you purchase brewing equipment or coffee for your home office, you can deduct the cost on your IRS sole proprietorship taxes.
Assets that depreciate
It's rare that most sole Accounting Software in Pakistan have a substantial number of assets having depreciation that can be deducted.
Let's take a quick look at this to make sure we've covered all of our bases. You can deduct a maximum of $1,040,000 starting in tax year 2020.
Depreciation on a vehicle is the most likely application for your sole proprietorship. The maximum depreciation deduction for a vehicle you use for work and that was first put into operation in 2019 is $10,100.
Expenses associated with impairment
If you have a disability, you may be able to employ services or tools to assist you with business responsibilities. If the support is solely for business purposes, the charges might be deducted from your sole proprietorship taxes.
Perhaps you require a computer to type documents and emails but are unable to do so. Buying dictation software for your business might be written off as a business expense.
Bad debts, loan interest, fees, oh my...
Hopefully, this does not happen frequently, but you may have a client who is unable to settle a bill you owe them.
A bad company debt can only be claimed if it was previously disclosed on your income.
Interest on loans that you intend to repay can usually be deducted. This is especially handy if you bought your firm with the help of a mortgage. You can deduct the costs of obtaining a mortgage from your sole proprietor taxes (again, providing you utilize the property for business purposes). The interest you pay on your mortgage can also be deducted.
Clubs and fees for organizations
A chamber of commerce, trade association, or networking group might be a good option. These groups are great for getting the word out about what you offer and meeting other professionals. These fees can be deducted if the organization is established for a business purpose.
This exception is to the IRS rule that club meals are not deductible. Your membership to a golf course didn't make it into the list.
We can help you to help yourself
There are many things you can do in tax season to make it less stressful.
Keep track of all your records. You can either save your records digitally or print them (preferably both). This information should be kept safe. Keep your receipts, bills, and statements organized. This will make it easier to find and allow you to take advantage of any deductions.
Hire a competent accountant. It is worth it to file correctly and get all the sole proprietorship tax deductions. It's OK if you are not a great at keeping records. A professional bookkeeper can make your life easier and prevent you from making costly mistakes. When it comes time to file taxes, your accountant will be grateful for the work of the bookkeeper. These services are also deductible.
Separate your personal and business expenses. If you blur these lines, things can become complicated. You should only make purchases with your business income ( Hint : eating out for yourself is not deductible).
Considerations for COVID-19
The IRS delayed the deadline for 2019 taxes due to ongoing economic crisis and pandemic. It will now be July 15, 2020.
Numerous state governments have changed their tax deadlines. Check with your Department of Revenue to find out more.
Tumblr media
Additional resources available for sole proprietors
Due to the increase in gig jobs, IRS resources for sole proprietorship have been made easily available. Side gigs can be anything from ride-sharing to online creative marketplaces. More people are making side incomes than ever before.
These types of work are often part-time or temporary and done via digital platforms. This category could include services such as freelance writing, photography, and design work. Other sellers may offer handmade goods on online marketplaces such as Etsy and Uncommon Goods.
These fields have tax implications. You will need to pay taxes on gig work, regardless of whether it is your full-time job or a side hustle with Accounting Software in Pakistan. To reduce the tax burden on sole proprietorship taxes, the IRS recommends keeping track of all expenses.
You must keep track of your income. This is good business practice. You will still need to report income, even if you don’t receive a 1099 form from the people with whom you have worked.
Solopreneur does not necessarily mean you are in it alone
Even the most financially well-informed, tax season can send a chill down your spine. Many people worry about how to pay their taxes or what they should do. It doesn't have to be lonely filing taxes as a sole proprietor.
It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the information available. However, it will be easier to have a competent accountant or bookkeeper.
Even if your ability to manage your own records is sufficient, you should consider buying reliable bookkeeping software. This will allow you to keep all of your information in one place. It is crucial to keep good records in order to pay your sole proprietorship taxes. Your life will be easier after April 15 (or July 15, 2020).
Good habits are key to maximizing your business income. Your taxes can be viewed as a way to lower your expenses. Taxes can be one expense that you don't have control over if you are a sole proprietor. It is difficult to reduce rent, payroll, and insurance. You can reduce the tax impact on your bottom line by being meticulous in your business management.
To help sole proprietors do the things they love. This allows you to spend less time worrying about details such as taxes and deductions.
Simple Accounting Tips
KISS Keep it simple. Start small. A sole proprietorship is the simplest entity to start your business. This type of ownership does not require any special communication to the Internal Revenue Service or filings until you begin paying employees.
You are the sole proprietor. If your municipality or county requires it, you can only obtain an occupational license. You, the owner, are responsible for all state and city taxes collected on wholesale or retail sales that your business makes. State tax collection is not applicable to service businesses or most cross-state sales.
A personal liability umbrella policy is the best and most affordable way to protect yourself from personal liability as sole proprietor. It is important to know your trade and keep detailed records to avoid any liability.
Focus on building your business, not on communicating with the IRS. The IRS won't even know that you are a sole proprietor until you file your first personal income tax returns. Schedule C will be included in your return. This schedule lists all sales and expenses that you have recorded for your business. These sales and expenses don't need to be held in separate accounts as required by the LLC/Incorporation form. To provide a tax refund, the sole proprietor's losses can be offset by your day job's earnings.
In the first five years, 90% of small businesses go under or become new owners. You can plan your business to prosper, but if it becomes sole proprietor, you must cease doing business. There is no need to communicate with the IRS or fill out special forms. You will not be subject to additional taxes. Just file the final Schedule C along with your next personal tax return. KISS.
How can you get paid as sole proprietorship? You can simply take the money out as an advance. There are no quarterly forms or payroll taxes. Startups lose money in the initial years. Keep your day job to cover your living expenses.
You should know that "write-off" does not mean you are exempt from expenses. It only means that you will be able to save some taxes if you use the income for specific purposes.
Once you have passed the five-year hurdle you can speak with a CPA to discuss other entity types that may be able to save you taxes. A simple bookkeeping entry can transfer all business assets from the sole proprietorship to the new entity, without tax penalties of Accounting Software in Pakistan. You can then quit your job and celebrate your new income.

Pakistan's Sea Buckthorn Berries Are Beautifully Underappreciated
By Tahereh Sheerazie, 15/4/15
Sea buckthorn is widely coveted in Michelin-starred kitchens like noma, but people in northern Pakistan, where the orange and red berries grow like wildfire, couldn't care less—even if it does make a delicious and healthy jam.
It was everywhere up north, but I hadn't noticed it on my previous trips.
It grows wild, in Pakistan's Shigar Valley of Baltistan and Shimshal Valley of upper Hunza/Gojal region; a fruit that is widely coveted in Western Michelin-starred kitchens like noma. But locals in these far north valleys care less about eating it and more about using it as barbed wire for fencing around their farmland to keep the animals out.
It's an innocuous part of the landscape in the dry Karakorum mountain range high up in Pakistan's northeast mountainous terrain, home to K2 and many other mighty peaks. Mostly growing wild along river beds, the first time I encountered sea buckthorn (Hippophae) was in late summer of 2008 in upper Gojal's remote 10,000 feet Shimshal Valley in northern Pakistan.
It is here where the ripe orange and red berries grow along the water's edge and brighten the landscape with their brilliant color.
I thought nothing of it, except that it was beautiful—in an odd, thorny sort of way.
That same winter, I was traveling by bus up the KKH (Karakoram Highway, the old Silk Route) to Kashgar from Rawalpindi. This was when I first tasted sea buckthorn in a tangy, sour-sweet, slightly bitter jam at the Serena Hotel in Gilgit, the areas main regional hub.
I was determined to bring some back home to Karachi and Pasadena where I live. No one in Gilgit knew much about it, except that the hotel bought its jam from a supplier in Skardu, Baltistan.
I poked around, searching for clues to find someone who might know of sourcing it in Gilgit. Finally, I was able to locate Wazir Aman, a man who pretty much has a PhD in sea buckthorn studies. A sort of mad scientist meets mad cook, he has been making and selling the juice and jams for years, and churns out sea buckthorn by-products out of a tiny cabin right off the KKH. Studying art in Karachi—like many art school graduates—his education had left him struggling for cash so he returned home to look for employment up north, earning an income by carrying loads and cooking for trekking expeditions. I can't recall what piqued his interest in sea buckthorn, but he began doing extensive research, and, among other things, discovered that the longevity of crows—which feed on the berries—is indebted to the fruit. This is what got him hooked on promoting sea buckthorn to people.
I followed my nose to find his scruffy cabin a few hours north of Gilgit, which was crammed with all sorts of things to cook and experiment with. His buddies sat chatting on a few scattered chairs, huddled around small tables. Wooden shelves filled with empty glass jam jars and rows of orange-looking juice in green, one-liter 7UP bottles decorated the walls. A two-burner gas stove sat on one of the very messy counters, sharing space with tins containing oil, sugar, salt, bags of berry powder, and who knows what else.
I sat drinking the customary sweet hot milk tea, listening with rapt attention to Wazir's tales of his life and the benefits of this miracle fruit. He extracts its juice for controlling high blood pressure and diabetes, grinds the sea buckthorn into powder for medicines, makes pulp for jams, and even presses the berries for oil.
I bought it all—the ideas and the merchandise.
He whipped up three jars of jam for me and one bottle of juice before I left next day. No one drank the sour, bitter juice when I brought it home, but everyone licked the jam jars clean. Wazir gets his raw material from the Shimshal Valley and from a man named Ghulam Nabi Shigri in Skardu, Baltistan. Ghulam Nabi (the king of Balti sea buckthorn) exports the dry crushed berry to markets elsewhere in the country, which then make it further afield to Europe's medicine and cosmetic industries. Wazir's successful experiments with jams and juices even helped him pay off a large chunk of his art school loans.
That sounds like a miracle fruit to me!
Among all the minerals, fatty acids, and antioxidants it's famous for, sea buckthorn is best known for its high vitamin C content, but I barely met anyone in these northern valleys who was eating it for health reasons. On subsequent trips, I managed to locate a jam outlet in Skardu, Nabi Shigri's warehouse, as well as a government-run agricultural research institute in Skardu that is making jam, extracting the precious oil, drying the leaves for tea, and pounding the berries into a powder for a Tang-like dry juice. I was delighted to know that such a large organization is promoting the use of the berry, even if the world is still largely ignorant of its existence.
I stock up on sea buckthorn jam from Skardu whenever I am there, but I avoid being overly generous in sharing it. Getting a bottle of jam from so far north in Pakistan is just as cumbersome as jumping the thorny shrub to graze on forbidden farmlands. Someday I hope to catch up with Wazir Aman again and hear about the next miracle fruit he might have discovered in those remote mountains.

Internet Marketing Company in UAE | sntechsol
Internet marketing refers to the strategy used by businesses to market and sell their products and services online through digital means such as website, social media, email and SMS marketing, Google and social ads, mobile applications, and many more. Examples of email marketing include banners, email lists, social media promotional and sponsored ads, PPC (Pay per Click), and website endorsements etc.
E-Commerce Marketing
No business can survive without setting up an e-commerce store in today’s world, especially after the Covid-19 breakout. E-commerce has become a major source of selling for most businesses. There are numerous benefits of opening up an e-commerce store:
 1.       Mechanized inventory management
With an online e-commerce store, you do not need to carry bulks of stock on hand and spend money on warehouses and storage costs, and then scrap costs of unsold inventory. An online business model allows you to outsource your inventory, or place order after the customer places an order on your website. Many smart businesses mention number of stock items left for particular products that is visible to the customers looking at the product as well, allowing for more transparency.
2.       Lesser targeted marketing
With removed restrictions of a physical store, with your affective internet marketing done well, you do not need to target a market geographically, but you can reach a worldwide audience. This brings down the expense of client procurement.
Specialty Market Dominance
With the removal of operational costs, you can now focus on your high profit potential clients, and increase your company’s productivity by more than two-folds than you would be able to achieve from a physical store.
What we offer
We offer a 14-day trial period for you to test out our services. If they work for you and your business, you would be able to generate a much higher profit margin for your business and achieve that potential that your business model has. We make your e-commerce business as flexible and as easy to use as we can.

Setting up Online Grocery Business in 2021
Switching business to online marketing and opting for digitally advanced solutions is considered a demand of time. With the outbreak of the global pandemic COVID-19, the business trends have witnessed dramatic change. So if you have got a new idea or are planning to start a new way to make money, then a grocery startup will be the best option in 2021. It is believed that the online grocery business has had a high probability of success in recent years. If you are concerned with starting a profitable grocery shopping business, this article will help you.
What is an online grocery store?
An online grocery store is a platform that provides retailers an opportunity to sell their products online using the internet. It is the cheapest way to conduct business. Establishing an online grocery business requires you to just invest in subscription rather than investing in infrastructure. Different software or platforms such as the Howmuch POS system are specifically designed to provide vendors an opportunity to get themselves registered, set up an online grocery market, and start selling online within the shortest period.
Benefits of selling groceries online
In the globalized world, millennials are highly reliant on technology for their major and minor needs.T. That is why selling groceries online is an emerging trend that saves time and keeps hassle away from the customers and retailers. Hence everyone has their own benefits associated with this business.
Customers
Now the customers do not have to wait for the weekend and create a separate list to do grocery shopping, and standing in long queues for billing all these things might become hectic for people. However, grocery eCommerce provides customers a platform where they can easily do their grocery shopping with their mobile phones. Moreover, they do not have to visit different shops to buy things because they can get everything in one place within the comfort of their home.
Entrepreneurs
For entrepreneurs or business owners, a grocery store business idea is an excellent opportunity to invest in because its demand is very high. Similarly, the earning chances in online stores are much more as compared to physical stores.
Software providers
With online grocery stores, the software providers also get many benefits as they provide vendors a platform where they can get registered and sell groceries online. Hence by providing facilities for online grocery shopping software providers, they earn monthly commission out of profit earned by retailers.
How to start an online grocery store?
To create an online grocery market, you need to focus on specific points that are the roots for setting to make your grocery store.
The first step for creating an online grocery store is to set your target market; you need to find out where you’ll deliver your products while the residents living there are also concerned and prefer online shopping. For instance, the posh areas where people mainly belong to the working class and couldn’t spare enough time to shop grocery would be an ideal target market for you.
The second step requires you to get your business registered. You also need to focus on minor and significant formalities and clear all your paperwork documentation and taxation regarding your business.
Thirdly, you must focus on your stock management, and for that purpose, you need to shortlist your product categories, like which products you will sell out. Additionally, you have to focus on the market demand as well.
Tie up your partnership with reliable wholesalers and suppliers and set up your warehouse as well.
Figure out delivery options for your customer, like how you’ll deliver online orders to them. Also, you have to decide the range of delivery like you can return within 5km, 10km, or 15km radius. You can hire some delivery boys or integrate your grocery store with foodpanda to deliver your products to your customers.
Create a website or application or approach any eCommerce website builder to provide your product and services online. Recently the light speed POS software is prevalent. For instance, Howmuch POS is a growing online platform with diverse offerings, products, empowerment, and tools especially designed for store retailers to sell almost anywhere. Howmuch keep hassle away from you because it is an all-in-one cloud-based POS system that will automate your business operations.
Hence, by following these minimal steps, you can create your grocery business and sell groceries online.
Best eCommerce website builder for online grocery store
Business owners have two options for creating an online grocery market: either create an e-commerce website or get partnered with an e-commerce service provider. There are different platforms for that, such as Shopify, food panda, and howmuch. No doubt, Each eCommerce service provider strives to provide the best services to their customers. However, Howmuch POS is one of the most popular and no. one POS systems and e-commerce (online Store) sales channels in Pakistan. It is an online home for your business. You can use howmuch to showcase your products, sell your products, manage your inventory, accept every way your customer wants to pay and provide customers ease and excitement while shopping. The main idea behind this concept is to promote the local shopping experience to e-commerce businesses and save shopping time with an enhanced experience.

(see link for a video on this episode that captured literally all of my reactions and will undoubtedly capture yours too)
Manager: You found that stolen Monet in Florence, saved your company a $25 million payout. That identity-theft case, you saved $15 million.

nate sees .00005 seconds of normal life and yeets the hell out

(The lobby is teaming with people when Nate walks in. A sign shows that Sophie is starring in The Sound of Music. He sees Parker at the ticket counter)
Parker: Picking up for one.
Ticket Agent: Last name?
Parker: Parker.
Ticket Agent: First name?
Parker: No. Just one name.
Ticket Agent: Great. I hope you enjoy it.
(Parker turns to see Nate across the room and smiles)
Hardison: Parker?
(Parker looks to her right to see Hardison. The sound of Eliot’s laughter from across the lobby draws Hardison’s attention)
Eliot (to women): All right. After the show, then. I'll see you.
(Eliot turns and sees the others. The all meet in the center of the lobby)
Nate: Eliot.
Parker: Nate.
Hardison: Parker.
Eliot: Hardison.
Eliot: So, how have you...
Nate: Good. Good. Great. You?
Eliot: Fantastic. Six months of traveling. Did a couple of big jobs.
Hardison: eah. Me, too. Great off time. Well, I bought an oxygen tank. Cool, nice.
Parker: Yeah, super. I've been really super, too.
Nate: Yeah, she didn't tell me that you guys would..
this is that dinner scene from shrek 2 right???
also, parker’s lil smile when she sees nate, hardison’s big smile when he sees parker + hardison says parker and eliot says hardison = ot3 acknowledging each other
- - - - -
Hardison: I didn't know you could sing.
Sophie: You know. Not as well as I act, but, yeah.
Hardison: Oh
- - - - -
Sophie: Uhhgh…
Hardison: Yeah, you know, I'm sure the reviews will be...
(Sophie hands Hardison her phone)
Hardison: …on the news website already.
Parker (grabs the phone): Really? Wow. "Never before has a production of 'The Sound Of Music' made me root for the Nazis. (Hardison gestures something like ‘WHY’ to Parker and she gestures something like ‘JDJSJSJ SORRY’ back)
POOR SOPHIE LMFAO
- - - - -
Sophie: No. No, no, no. Stop it. There is nothing you can say that's gonna make me feel better.
Parker: I know what could make you feel better. We should steal something.
Nate: No, no.
Sophie: Yes! We could do it together.
Eliot: I like this. Get right back up on the bike.
Parker: Bike of crime.
Nate: Didn't you earlier tell me how great your new lives were?
Parker: Yeah, well, I stole the Hope Diamond.
Nate: What?
Parker: (Everyone looks surprised. Eliot looks like he is going to say something.) And then I put it back. Yeah, 'cause I was bored. Didn't care.
Hardison: I spent three days hacking the white house e-mail. No buzz.
Nate: See?
Hardison: But we are doing some pretty hinky stuff in Pakistan. Hinky.
Sophie: Look, I'm miserable. They're miserable. (to Eliot) Okay, what have you been doing the last six months?
Eliot: I was in Pakistan. (Parker grins)
Hardison: You see what you did? You took the world's best criminals, hitter, hacker, grifter, thief, you took us, and you broke us.
Nate: No, no. I-I, what I did, I taught you how to help people. That's all.
Parker: Exactly.
Sophie: Yeah.
Eliot: This is the problem, with being the good guy. It gets under your skin.
Sophie: Look, Nate. You have to have some poor, little lost soul somewhere who needs a little extra-legal aid.
Nate: Look, we all agreed that we'd just move on.
Sophie: Yeah, but we're... We're thieves.
Nate: Not me. Look, it was great. It was fun. It was wonderful while it lasted, but I was drunk most of the time, to be honest with you. And I… A little crazy.
Eliot: Yeah, but you were good.
Parker: You were the best.
Hardison: We were the best.
Parker: Yeah.
Nate: Listen, really, I owe all of you. And I'm very proud of what we did. I-I really am. But I got my life back, and I intend to keep it that way. And I am not a thief. (stands up) It was great to see all of you. Good night. (leaves)
BIKE OF CRIME + also bruh let them have their found family, nate
- - - - -
(Nate enters the dim room and looks around. Behind him, the Thug opens the door and comes at him with a knife. Nate sees the reflection in a pot lid and turns to block the blow. Sophie comes in behind the Thug)
Sophie: Oi! Does your mother sew? (headbutts Thug) Stitch that.
(Thug runs out of the condo. Nate runs out after him, but Thug gets away. As he reenters the condo, Sophie hits him in the head with a cookie sheet and Nate falls to the floor)
Sophie: Ah! Bugger
she tried, your honor + her tough talk and then AH BUGGER
- - - - -
(the next morning, Nate wakes up on the couch to the sound of Parker eating. Parker is wearing a Nun’s habit, smiles and moves away. Sophie comes downstairs wearing Nate’s shirt)
Nate: That's my shirt.
Sophie: Yeah. I stayed the night to make sure you were okay. You what? But don't worry. I didn't look under your bed. I know that's where guys keep weird, kinky stuff.
Nate: There's nothing under my bed.
Parker (opens cupboard): This is all coffee.
Nate: Get out of there! (sees Hardison and Eliot at the table) What are you guys doing? (gets up) Come on, get out of here. Get all this stuff out of here. You're planning something. I know it. Come on. Get out of my house.
...
Hardison: Look, nobody else is gonna help that guy and his little girl. Okay, that's what we do. We help people. By the way, I compared Sophie's description of your attacker to the accident footage from the security camera.
(Hardison pushes a few buttons on the laptop and zooms in on the Thug’s face to begin a facial recognition search through various cameras in the area)
Hardison: Do you realize, on average, people are caught on security cameras 13 times a day? ATM cameras, traffic cameras. It's crazy, man, but we can track him. We can. Well, I lost him in this.
Eliot: Yeah, well, I found this empty briefcase belonging to a Matt Kerrigan at that intersection.
...
Eliot: Yeah, well, the problem is, these two cats went down to the safety deposit boxes.
Parker: Which is the only room in every bank, with absolutely no cameras.
Hardison: Which means we up, baby. (puts on a priest’s collar) They tried to kill Kerrigan for what was in the briefcase. We're gonna steal it back.
Eliot (laughs): She was dressed that way 'cause she's doing a con.
Nate: What, you thought she was dressed like a nun for no reason?
Eliot: It's Parker.
...
(Nate walks away)
Sophie (to Eliot): So, you going?
Eliot: I'm not going anywhere. The man has 700 sports channels.
Sophie: You want to see what he's got under his bed?
Eliot: N-no, I do not.
Sophie: Icky

(Parker opens her Bible to reveal a lock duplication kit with a depression in the plastic of the master key)
[Flashback]
(Parker takes the key from the Bank Manager’s pocket as Hardison talks, pressing the key into the form before replacing it into the Bank Manager’s pocket)
Hardison: And the children... The children thank you. They will send you a card just as soon as we buy them tiny pencils. And teach them how to spell. It's a two-step process, you see.
[Bank Vault]
Parker: Superglue and a heat-activated polymer to set it. Seven seconds, instant plastic key. (hands Hardison the Bible) Shake it.
Hardison: What?
Parker: Shake the bible.
Hardison: This is even more wrong.
(Hardison: takes the Bible and begins shaking it while Parker picks box 5076)
they’re so competent ugh
- - - - -
Hardison: I did look for you. For six months.
HE LOOKED FOR HER FOR SIX MONTHS
- - - - -
Parker: I think people are like locks. Really complicated and frustrating. But you can't force them. You have to take time and be fiddly.
Hardison: Fiddly?
Parker: You learn to be patient, and just wait until you hear the...
(the lock opens and the door swings wide)
- - - - -
(Hardison is sitting on the couch going through some paperwork and working on a laptop. Several boards have been set up with information about the case)
Nate: Now, this is not "gone." This is "more."
Hardison: Yeah, I, uh, I scanned the documents in Leary's box, but I wanted to print out a few pages.
Nate: I asked—I asked Eliot to get rid of this stuff. Now there's more stuff.
Hardison: Did you? Oh, we-we crossed, but didn't see each other. He didn't tell me.
Nate: Oh, that's how you're gonna play this?
Hardison: Oh, man. Look... (stands up and sniffs)
Nate: What?
Hardison: Is that... What is that aroma? That's that apple shampoo that's open.
Nate: You've been up in my shower, rummaging around?
Hardison: Man's in a strange bathroom, he's got a lot of time to kill... Nate, Nate, Nat-
I CANNOT
- - - - -
Nate: Grew up in the same neighborhood. The O'Hares are mobbed up. These are all mob businesses you're talking about here.
Hardison: Mob?
Nate: Where's Eliot?
Hardison: Oops.
Nate: What?
[Warehouse]
(Eliot is going through boxes when his phone rings. He answers)
Eliot: Yeah, Hardison. This is the third place I checked. It's all the same. What do you mean mob?
Thug: Hey!
(three men approach, one of them the Thug, who has his nose bandaged and is carrying a baseball bat)
Eliot: Oh, that mob. (hangs up)
hardison’s “whoops” followed by I HAVE TO WARN MY BOYFRIEND + in this episode we have eliot using a baseball bat as a weapon which is yet another piece in the continuation of eliot using things as weapons that are not supposed to be used as weapons
+ he apologizes to the guy that just had a nose job for beating him up and punching him in the nose he’s baby
- - - - -
(Nate opens the refrigerator to find it full of Hardison’s orange soda)
Nate: Seriously?
(Nate turns to see the island covered in food and dishes)
Nate: You know, guys, there is a dishwasher here.
Eliot: You're out of ice.
he literally can’t get rid of them + also I WONDER whose orange soda that is
- - - - -
parker robot dancing in the 80s jacket and looking DIRECTLY at eliot lmfao
- - - - -
Nate: What? Sophie, how do you catch mob guys?
Sophie: Ah, two glasses of Chianti and a story about my grandma in Sicily
- - - - -
Nate: Well, yeah. I mean, if you have a body in the trunk of your car, you're gonna drive under the speed limit, aren't you?
Parker: You know, when you're sober, your metaphors get creepier
- - - - -
eliot and parker sitting next to each other? cute
- - - - -
Hardison: Mr. Leary, I'm Detective Costello, with the Massachusetts State Police. This is Detective Costigan. I believe you met with our chief, Lieutenant Bonanno
more aliases to keep track of
- - - - -
Parker: We're investigating your colleague Matt Kerrigan's (air quotes) "car accident."
Leary: So you don't think it was an accident?
Hardison: Of course not. She did the finger thing. You got that. Everybody gets that.
Parker: Did I do it right?
Hardison: No. No. This guy just... (pulls picture from his pocket)
~ a few moments later ~
Parker: I did it right, didn't I?
Hardison: It was perfect.
Parker: I knew I did it right.
Hardison: It was beautiful execution. Absolutely.
Parker: Just like you taught me. I did it. (she smiles brightly)
Hardison: Yeah. Yeah, you did it. I like it. Yeah. (gives her a thumbs up)
SHES LEARNING IM SO PROUD OF HER
- - - - -
Eliot: Hey, this detonator - If I'm around the corner, is it still gonna be in range?
Hardison: Should be. I haven't worked out all the kinks yet. Sometimes the things just go off.
Eliot: Whoa, whoa, wait. Hey. I thought you said this thing was safe.
Hardison: Mostly. Mostly safe. I was very specific. Sometimes the frequencies get messed up.
Eliot: What frequencies, man? Huh? I got these things in my pants.
Hardison: Like, you know, a garage-door opener, a car alarm.
(a car alarm chirps then goes off, making Eliot jump. He moves away angrily)
Parker: What are the odds that Eliot's crotch will actually explode?
Eliot: Damn it, Hardison! (stalks off)
chaotic ot3
- - - - -
Sophie (shows passport): Annie Kroy.
O’Hare (grabs passport): Name's familiar.
Sophie: My family does business in North London with Terry Adams, and a couple of other organizations. We handle the money.
Nate (getting up): Yeah, see, what they do is they clean the money.
some people think that annie kroy is sophie’s true identity. I think, if anything, it would be her duchess alias but can you IMAGINE mob child sophie??? also, hi. im jackie and I wholeheartedly believe annie kroy has killed a man.

(Eliot is parked outside of the bank when Leary comes out, looking at files. Eliot hits a remote and the sound of gunfire fills the street as the squibs go off. People scream and Leary dives for cover. Eliot laughs and closes his window.)
chaotic eliot
- - - - -
Leary: And for that, the government hunts them down like dogs. People like me, we took billions from the banks. Billions. And what did the government do when they finally caught us? They wrote us a giant check and begged us to make it all better.
that’s disturbing
- - - - -
(Parker uses a taser on O’Hare and Hardison pulls up a recorder)
I think that was the first time parker tasered someone and we love to see it
- - - - -
Nate: So, how did you do it?
Eliot (gets up): Detonator, (holds up remote, reaches into his shirt and pulls out ketchup wrapper) ketchup.
Nate: Ah, the classics.
Sophie: Oh (hops happily), I love a good death scene
- - - - -
parker in a nun costume smelling money and saying “ahhhh” is certainly a mood
- - - - -
Leary: I was tricked. I was tricked. It wasn't me, you understand?
Bonanno: Somebody tricked you into bringing a briefcase full of evidence of your own crimes straight to the police? Come on, Mr. Leary. Nobody's that smart. Get him out of here
THEY ARE T H A T SMART
- - - - -
Zoe: Thank you. There are wolves in the world. But sometimes they're the good guys, I guess.
I didn’t like that whole metaphor because it felt kinda cliche but whatever, they ARE the good guys
+ bruh why is hardison wearing glasses??? him and eliot will sometimes wear them and honestly I don’t know who actually needs them and for what at this point ???

(Nate enters the condo to find that Hardison has installed five of six large monitors on the wall and is working on the last one)
Nate: Whoa, whoa. What are you doing there?
Hardison: I'm running this cat 5 cable to the--
Nate: Oh, no, no, no, no. You don't understand. No, I don't want to have these monitors in my apartment. No.
(Parker opens the door and walks in carrying a large painting)
Parker: Coming through!
Nate: No, these must go. What? No! Parker, no! Not that paint--I don't ever want to see that painting.
Parker: (shaking the painting as she talks in a funny voice) “Hi, I'm old Nate, and I live here, too."
Nate: You can't just break in here and start hanging--
Hardison: Oh, yeah, yeah. For repairs or renovation, your landlord has full access to your dwelling. It's in the lease.
Nate: What are you doing reading my lease?
Hardison: I bought the building.
Nate: You bought the... You're my landlord?
Hardison: Yeah. (holds his hand out for a fistbump) Yeah.
(Nate looks away, then hears the sound of a chain saw. He turns to see the end of a chain saw come through the wall)
Nate: No, no! No! No!
(Part of the wall falls to reveal Eliot holding the chainsaw and grinning. Nate coughs and both Parker and Hardison put their arms around him)
CHAOTIC OT3 + THEIR TIRED DAD
