guess who got an idea for another comedy essay (it's me. i do not have time to write essays other than my current school work rn but oh my goddd my brain is stilly in comedy analysis mode)
#this essay in particular would be about the common themes explored in kids in the hall vs i think you should leave#bc of course we can compare and contrast their comedy style and technique (which would definitely be part of the essay)#but one thing i always find interesting with sketch shows is how even tho most sketch shows don't intentionally have a central theme/topic#comedians and comedy troupes do have themes they gravitate towards consciously or unconsciously#not gonna spoil the essay bc if i start listing what these themes are for the two shows i will just fall into writing the whole essay now#but the crux of it is how kith never did commercial parodies and never parodied specific things in the pop culture and politics of the time#and was much more about human behaviour#vs ITYSL does have infomercials and commercial parodies etc. but it wasn't until today that i noticed they do something very odd with them#that actually does kind of carry through the KITH ethos that's a byproduct of *not* doing commercials#and more closely resembles the KITH view than it does the more mainstream SNL view#idk this might not make sense i'm being vague on purpose bc if i write the essay now my work will not get done
