It warms my heart so much that the twins take to Velora so readily. They love her so immediately when it would have been so much easier for them to hate her.

She’s everything they were told they could never be for their entire miserable childhood. She has the life they could have had if their father were a little kinder or their mother a different race.

It would be so easy for them to fall into a ready reservoir of resentment for the child who has everything they should have and didn’t.

It would be so easy for Vax who hates everything to do with his father to hate the child born of his blood and welcomed in his life.

It would be so easy for Vex who craves his approval even now to resent the child who never had to prove her worth.

But they don’t. They love her in an instant. They are kind to their step mother and generous towards their sister. Their hatred toward their father still burns hot and bright but they direct it entirely toward him, never letting it touch even those closest to him.

Syldor is the only one who sees the reflection of the misery he poured into their lives. Everyone else gets to see the best of Elaina shine through. Her strength, her love, her heart, that’s what the rest of the world gets to see. Even Velora.

Percy

He is so smug about the fact that he gets to call you his spouse. Absolutely the type to refer to you as his husband/wife/spouse and then melt over the fact that he can say that.

Similar to the last point, as you now have a title due to being married to Percy, he will find excuses to use it. It's another reminder that you chose him!

No matter how stubborn this man is with most, he folds like wet paper with you. Percy is awful at saying no to you. He is whipped and he cannot do a thing about it.

All he really wants to do is spoil you with everything he has. What is the point of money and status if not to give you the perfect life?

Cassandra does her best to strike up a friendship with you and thinks it is hilarious that you could easily convince your husband to do anything. She will try and get you to take advantage of this for silly things.

If you become close with his sister, he's done for. Family is so important to him, and you and Cassandra are the biggest parts of his. Having you two get along is all he wants.

Cass makes a comment once about wanting to become an aunt and almost kills Percy.

Vex

Vex is subtler about how incredibly happy she is, but you know the way her eyes sparkle whenever someone mentions you.

There are jokes made about you being Trinket's step-parent. Trinket has decided the correct way to react is to try and make you pet him whenever he hears it. If he isn't expecting it, he gets excited and will knock you over from the force of it. Vex loves this.

Vex'ahlia has a possessive streak and you are well aware of it. She likes having a hand on you whenever she's next to you, and it will become incredibly obvious if she starts feeling as though someone is paying a little too much attention to you. This is when she starts saying 'My spouse," every time she refers to you.

She will say the worst, most blatant, innuendo in front of the party without so much as a blush. If you get flustered, then it's all the more fun.

Vex finds a lot of joy in still being able to fluster you, no matter how long the two of you have been together.

Vax

Vax can't quite believe that you agreed to marry him. On some level, it feels like he has been living a dream since the wedding.

He's so ridiculously soft over you. Vex claims he has heart eyes whenever you aren't looking. She's right.

He has dreamed of having a simple, content life ever since he was a kid. All he really wanted was to have someone he loved and could rely on. You give him so much more than that.

His deal with the Raven Queen haunts him sometimes, when he thinks about how much time he will or won't get to have with you. He promised himself that he would give you all of the love he could for as long as he could.

Vax tries to do small things to make your days easier when he can. For him, that's what love is. Wanting to make someone's life easier, to make them happy. You'll often see small things that he'd done for you without him saying he's done them.

I love that, when the twins are fucking thrown into Syngorn, not prepared for that, and, oh no, we have to reveal our relationship to our fucking father that we hate (Vax) and have really complicated emotions towards (Vex) and oh, yeah, by the way, he has a full-elf daughter now. Your half sister.

And immediately.

With barely any conversation.

Vex and Vax completely accept her. They embrace her. They say, you call us Vex and Vax. Oh, Father said we’d never come back? And miss the chance to meet you? A travesty.

And it just highlights the difference between them and their father. They embrace their new family. He rejects them. 

God I love Velora. I love that the twins love Velora. *chef’s kiss* well done

Bitch you ask for a headcanon I shall provide ya:

How well does the rest of the team do as petsitters for Trinket? Do they fail a lot or are these guys used to petsitting by now? Does Grog try to feed him ale?

Grog definitely tried to give him ale - once, before Vex all but chewed him out so hard he couldn’t look at her. Other than that if anyone even looks at Trinket he’s got his weapon out.

Scanlan refuses point blank to look after Trinket. He just does not like that bear. At all. For no reason. And the feeling is mutual.

Vax successfully sneaks ale to Trinket and Grog pouts about it. Vax is the second best pet sitter for Trinket, partially because the bear is part of his family but mainly because his sister scares him.

Percy and Trinket have a respect and understanding for each other. Trinket knows to be safe. Percy knows to let him do his thing. Vex loves them both.

Pike is sweet with Trinket but she smells like Scanlan and he is not a fan of that. So she has to bathe before she can look after him.

Then there’s Keyleth. Sweet, loving, Keyleth. I think Trinket has a softness for Keyleth, doing as he’s told the way he does with Vex. Sometimes she becomes a bear and they just sit together, other times she druidcrafts flowers to make into a crown for him.
