I have yet to meet a character who loves Tatooine, nobody likes that dustball of a planet. It's iconic for a reason though. (And that reason is probably how all the characters in-universe dislike it, haha.)
Many of my characters grew up in a big city (Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant) or in space and feel more comfortable there, but none of them have such a big, irrational dislike of "nature in general" as Vic. I guess his line of works doesn't really bring him to the "nice" places a lot. ;) It would make sense for the Jedi to embrace and love all living things and have a strong connection to all the animals and perhaps the planet itself. But I do have one that prefers the company of droids and computers to animals (Var'lin, he is an archivist/librarian and not very light sided so perhaps that explains it). Shavi is probably the one that loves space the most. He grew up on a ship, so it feels like home to him. ❤
Vic basically grew up in space. He doesn't like animals, plants or "nature" in general. The worst thing in his eyes are desert planets. You know what they say about sand...
I think all of my characters have a distaste for Tatooine. And yet the universe seems to revolve around that planet...
Eva likes weather -- not nature so much. Precipitation is interesting; changing temperatures are not, nor are bugs, dust, humidity... She's probably spent the least amount of time on a planet out of my OCs. She (and her mother Athene) actually has spacer glow -- a combination of cosmic radiation, iodine meds, and vitamins that substitute for sun exposure. It's part of the reason why she appears pale; when she spends a few months on Rishi and Yavin, Eva looks less 'ethereal' than when she landed. Eva prefers droids to animals. Unless it's a cat.
Fria as a Jedi consular has been the most terrestrial. She's most nature-inclined and embracing of the way things are...she's also the least irritable of the bunch. Fria has the whole Snow White 'animals come out of the woods to greet her' type vibes going on.
Gronn lives in a tin can. Unless he is on a ship, life sucks a little. The smallest living thing he likes is Blizz. He loves Blizz like a witch loves their familiar.

KINKTOBER DAY 28
kink of the day: Cloning & Self-cest
additional kinks/warnings: threesome, plug and play/cyborg interfacing/mind sharing?
characters: Var'lin and Shelly @starrealis
A/N: In her base of operations on Tatooine Shelly often uses her clones to do some minor repairs. Turns out they are good for other things too. :P
***
Var'lin winced as Shelly plugged in another cable, the sensation almost too much until she remembered to slow down the data feed. He breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed back against the surface of the worktable, finally able to enjoy the slower stream of information and the connection building between them through the interfacing cables. Shelly kept working on his implants, most of her attention dedicated to the delicate task, and he took the opportunity to greedily download whatever data he could find. She didn't bother to erect any firewalls and let him into her unique mind, giving him access to her memories and even let him control some of her environmental subroutines. His fingers traced one of the cables connecting them, caressing it like he would any part of her body. His other hand followed the circuits in her arm as he was playing with the sensitivity settings of her body to see if he could make her shiver. When he succeeded, she stopped working for a moment to look at him. Her expression wasn't exactly annoyed, but he could still tell she wasn't happy with the distraction.
“This is a very delicate procedure.” “I know.”
He was in her mind. He knew what she was doing and how easily she could damage him. He also knew this was going take a few more hours at least. But their connection worked both ways, so she could probably feel his growing arousal, too. He pushed one of her own memories at her, a recent memories of when he had arrived on Tatooine a few days ago. Her hands tearing at his clothes, her body moving on top of him, the sweet pain of her nails digging into his back. He knew this wasn't a very smart course of action, but Shelly always made him reckless. “I need to finish this, and yet you insist on distracting me.” She was genuinely puzzled by his behavior. If he hadn't known better he could have sworn she was pouting.
“I'm sorry,” he lied, smiling at her. “I have a proposition for you,” she finally said without looking at him. His curiosity was piqued, but to his immense disappointment, she just kept working on his implant and didn't elaborate, didn't share her plans through their link. He noticed part of her consciousness working on something new, he could sense her connecting to another machine in the deeper parts of the base where he couldn't follow. Curiosity only fueled his desire. He slipped one hand past the waistband of his trousers to stroke himself, disappointed when that didn't get any reaction from Shelly. She must be able to feel it through their connection, the silky soft skin under his palm, the tingling pleasure in his spine, the pressure building...
The doors to her lab opened with a hiss and Var'lin's jaw dropped when another Shelly entered the room. No, not one, two. As soon as he got a closer look, he realized that they were two of her clones, and that they didn't resemble Shelly as much as he had thought at first glance. They both lacked the extensive implants of the original. They also had normal human eyes. Green, like the sea on her home planet... As soon as they had entered the room the two clones started stripping out of their jumpsuits, their movements lacking the elegance of the original, but Var'lin wasn't going to complain. Not when they stripped down completely, revealing slightly fuller breasts, perfect pale skin and oh. Now they were kissing. Touching each other. One of them moaned as the other bent down to suck her nipple into her mouth. “I love the way you think,” he said out loud, but then he realized that this was his fantasy, and Shelly was just giving him what she had seen in his thoughts. Before he could communicate anything else, the two clones had already climbed onto the worktable. They crouched down next to him, careful not to disturb any of the cables connecting him and the original Shelly. One of them proceeded to get his cock out and wrap her mouth around it, her expression curious, as if she had never done this before. Well, she probably hadn't.
Var'lin moaned anyway as she started sucking on it, her technique improving with every second, as Shelly no doubt fed her with all the relevant information. Damn, he couldn't say what was hotter. The way both of them pressed against him, or the way they stroked his balls as the clone increased her efforts. What he didn't particularly like was the way they kept looking at him. Their eyes were wrong, not just the color, there was fascination in them, adoration, and an innocence that just wasn't right. He didn't know how far Shelly's control over her clones went. Perhaps she had given the instruction or perhaps the second clone acted out of her own free will as she straddled him, but in the end it didn't matter. She took him inside with a startled moan, and Var'lin could see the confused pleasure reflected on her twin's face.
The clone started moving, slowly as not to jostle him too much. She was so tight Var'lin had to hold his breath and bite his lip to keep himself from thrusting. He doubted Shelly had ever used them in this manner before, had allowed anyone to use them like this. The second clone was kneeling next to him, squeezing her breasts, drawing red welts on pale skin with her nails, hungry for sensation and moaning every time her twin brought her hips down.
“Stay still,” Shelly's dispassionate voice reminded him.
“I'm sorry,” he lied again, but he did his best not to make this any harder for her. After all he wanted her to finish quickly and join them, for she was the only Shelly that mattered to him.

Pick three OCs. How would they explain the origins of the Sith if asked?
Tumblr media
Var'lin is not only a librarian with a cybernetically enhanced memory. He has been interested in the history of the dark side from a very young age. He's read every book the Jedi know on this topic, as well as those they don't want him to read. It's safe to assume he knows everything about the origins of the Sith, about the Great Schism and the Hundred-Year Darkness, about the first Lords of the Sith and everything else. He has built up a huge factual knowledge, but he would be reluctant to talk about any of it. If he knew he could trust the person he's talking to, he would love to discuss this topic at lenght. He's a bit of a nerd.
Tumblr media
Like most of my pureblood characters Sarvis buys into the tale of how the arrival of the Dark Jedi elevated her ancestors. She doesn't see them as oppressors or colonizers, but as saviors and heroes of her people. To her, the Sith as they are today are a product of both her species' ancient powers and knowledge, and the strength of those Dark Jedi like Ajunta Pall. On the contrary, she sees the Jedi as oppressors who have tried to eradicate her people and her culture at numerous times in galactic history. A fairly standard imperial viewpoint, as she hasn't really been exposed to anyone who would challenge that point of view. (Her brother Sarian has actually started to question this point of view since he has been exposed to the light side, and he's had deep and meaningful conversations with the occasional Jedi).
Tumblr media
Maks doesn't talk much, but she would probably explain the origin of the Sith like this:
"It was a mistake. Not killing all of them. Sending them away to the stars in the hope they would come to regret their path. We've damned billions of people, entire civilizations to a cruel fate worse than death. And all of that just because we were to weak to make the tough decision." She's always felt that the Jedi are in some way responsible for the evil of the Sith, and she has vowed to do all she can live up to that responsibility.

I wish to hear more about Var'lin and this Sith half brother. how did that happen? who are their parents? how similar do they look? why is Var'lin impersonating him?
I love talking about them, thank you for asking! For the longest time they didn't even know about each other's existence. Then the war happened and Var'lin was wounded in a skirmish with a group of Sith on Corellia. He was taken captive by one of them, who - to his complete shock - looked like his evil doppelganger.
I wrote some stories (here, here and here) about that story arc, but the conclusion happened in rp only (he eventually got back home and the brothers decided to stay in contact). They look eerily similar, even though Var'lin is younger (and prettier, he claims). Var'lock of course has only one eye and he generally looks more sithy with the pale skin, gaunt face and the corrupted orange eye. They share the same father. A Sith who fathered a lot of illegitimate children all over the galaxy. One of them was a little slave boy on an imperial colony world. Var'lin's mother fled to Coruscant where she gave birth and never told her son or anyone else the story of how she had gotten pregnant with a Sith's child (it's not a pretty story).
Var'lin is eventually going to help his brother with some pesky assassins. Draw them out by impersonating Var'lock. Just the usual Sith power struggles, you know? A normal day in the Empire.
Here's some lovely art of the two.

f your Jedis had to disguise themselves as a Sith, how convincing of a job would they do?
Thank you for the lovely asks for the fandom, dear anon. You are the best. :)
Tumblr media
Silvass has the advantage of being a chiss. His people are not only aligned with the Empire, most people also consider them "hard to read". I have no doubt that he could LOOK the part, but he wouldn't be able to fool anyone looking more closely. There is a certain kindness and just ... generall aura of selflessness about him that is hard to miss. He is pragmatic but not very good at lying. I would say 4/10 with the help of a little force persuade
Tumblr media
I don't want to call Var'lin surprisingly good at impersonating Sith, because it's not a surprise at all. He is a dark side user, a gifted liar and he has a talent for manipulating people. In fact, he has disguised himself as a Sith before, and will probably do so again in an upcoming story (where he has to play the role of his Sith half-brother). 9/10 would probably fool most people
Tumblr media
Kadreth can't speak a lie without blushing. He'd do a terrible job, but I guess at least he is big and imposing. Let's just hope he doesn't have to speak. perhaps he can get a mask or something. 1/10 would not recommend

Kissing prompts 01
for @starrealis and @kaosstar
💋
DRAX and EINAN (@kaosstar) – forced kiss
“Kiss him.”
Two simple words. A simple task. He had fought for her, even killed at her command. She had made him kneel and fall in love with no more than a few words from her lips. So why did he hesitate? He never hesitated when his master gave an order.
Drax took a deep breath and forced himself to lean forward, grab the Jedi's chin and turn his face towards him. The kiss was just a brush of lips against lips, barely worth being called a kiss. It lasted only a for few seconds, but the Jedi's lips were surprisingly soft, and Drax realized that he had closed his eyes and was holding his breath.
“That was not what I meant and you know it.”
There was no need to look at his master. He heard the disappointment in her voice as clearly as he felt his own, conflicting emotions. He hated disappointing his master, but he hated more how much he wanted to go for another kiss.
Drax opened his eyes and growled at Einan, as if it was somehow all his fault.
💋
VAR'LIN and SHELLY (@starrealis) – passionate kiss
She was growing more and more frustrated with him. He could sense it, but he didn't stop. He kept going, long past the point where he had intended to stop. Perhaps he was being needlessly cruel, but he loved the way she was slowly losing control, the way her shoulders trembled and her hands clenched into fists. Her anger was as beautiful as it was dangerous.
She finally snapped, optics blazing with bright light as she twisted to catch his throat in her hand and squeezed hard, pulling him down for a violent kiss, moaning into his mouth.
He couldn't help it, he just melted into the kiss. He loved it when she displayed such open aggression, it was part of what had attracted him to her in the first place. It was extremely gratifying to get such a strong reaction out of her, but he didn't have the capacity to process that thought for much longer as her lips devoured his and her legs wrapped around him.

February Day 1
prompt: head wound
character(s): Var'lin and Var'lock
A/N: I've always wanted to write the story for this amazing piece of art I commissioned years ago, finally the brothers get to meet (one of them has a concussion, the other is just crazy)
~~~
Var'lin woke in a bedroom he didn't know, in a bed that wasn't his own. Pain and nausea started to overwhelm him as soon as he tried to lift his head, and when he finally managed to sit up the world around him spun so violently he almost threw up.
Breathing exercises helped a little. They also helped to calm him down. He looked around slowly, taking in the table littered with ancient scrolls, the crimson wall hangings, the shelves full of artifacts. A holocron was glowing faintly in the dim light.
Something was wrong with him.
Perhaps it was just the fact that his implants had been turned off, he hadn't been without their input for such a long time, but something else felt off too. He couldn't put a finger to what it was. Apart from the splitting headache he didn't feel any pain, couldn't find any injuries.
Suddenly a flash of memories hit him. A battle. An explosion. His own face looking down on his broken body through the smoke, wearing an eyepatch over his left eye..... panicking he touched his face, almost expecting to find his eye missing. But it was still there, not even a scratch. His hand rubbed the stubble on his jaw. How long had he been here? And where was here? He tried to hold on to his thoughts, but they seemed to slip through his fingers.
A knock on the door made him reach for his lightsaber, but of course it wasn't there. The man who entered wore dark robes and an eerily familiar face.
It was like looking into a mirror. A dark and twisted mirror that reflected only the shadows of the real world. Var'lin shook his head, almost expecting the other man to do the same. How was this possible? Was he dead? Hallucinating? His doppelganger cocked his head, looking at him with fascination. “What’s your name?” he asked in a conversational tone.
He must have passed out then. The next time he woke, he was back in bed, painkillers numbing the worst of the pain, adding a layer of fog to everything instead. The man who looked so much like himself sat on a chair next to the bed. Now that Var'lin could get a closer look, he saw the differences. It wasn't just the eyepatch. The man was older, his hair shorter, his cheeks more gaunt. Sith his senses screamed in warning. He found that he couldn't move.
“What did you do to me?” It was like trying to speak under water, his words somehow too slow and too big for his mouth. The Sith seemed to understand him just fine, however.
"Oh, you are finally awake," he said excitedly, leaning closer. Var'lin was quite thankful that his voice was so different from his own. Somehow it made things easier. “That must be the drugs. Don't worry, they will wear off soon.”
“Where am I?”
“You are in my bed,” the Sith said, as if that explained everything.
.
(In case anyone is curious, this is what happened right after the battle.)
new year drabbles 5/?
featuring @lhunuial's Domi and my Var'lin
Not sure if at this point Var'lin has already delved deeper into his dark side studies, but let's just assume his intention aren't as pure as Domi's (hey, how do you do, fellow jedi archeologist? I am totally NOT here to search for hidden Sith artifacts! nice to meet you!)
~~~
The narrow hallway lead into another room with an altar and overgrown temple walls, adorned with more ancient writings and paintings depicting the history of these ruins. Domi was so excited by her breakthrough that she followed the carvings without even looking at her surroundings. This was the piece of the puzzle she had been looking for since she arrived on the jungle moon.
Her fingers trailed along the carved letters as she translated the text, following the revelations of the ancient Jedi down the temple stairs and through yet another hallway, loosing track of time as she worked. She didn't notice the sound of footsteps not her own, not even the force as it whispered to her of the other presence in these ruins.
The next room was partially caved in, and she had to duck under the vines hanging from the roof to get to the next section. There was something on the ground! A piece of a crystal or...
Domi almost collided with someone who was also reaching for the glowing object on the ground. Shocked, she gasped and stumbled back, instinctively reaching for her lightsaber. Before she could ignite it, her senses had already told her that there was no need to defend herself.
The other Jedi seemed to have a similar thought process, since he lowered his saberstaff and exhaled deeply. “By the stars!” He shook his head in disbelief. “You scared the living force out of me.”
The situation was so absurd that Domi had to laugh, and the Jedi made a noise that was part snort and part chuckle. He was about her age, handsome, a few cybernetics on his temple glowing in the dim light.
Apologizing profusely, Domi was just about to ask him what another Jedi was doing here, when he bent down to retrieve the glowing object from the rubble.
They both stared at the holocron. It's soft blue glow had turned red in his hands.

There is a Jedi in your bed, master...
another Idalia (@kaosstar) and Var'lock drabble, featuring an unconscious Var'lin
~~~
Idalia froze at the door of her master's bedroom. She had never actually been in there, and she didn't particularly want to do so now.
“What was it you wanted to show me again, master?” she asked at the doorstep, voice carefully neutral. There was no answer from the room, so she grimaced and stepped inside, having little choice in the matter.
You never knew what to expect with Var'lock, but her master had never struck her as someone who was interested in that kind of power play with his apprentices, so she was quite confident--
“Come to the bed!”
Uh. Okay...
Idalia's mind went blank for a second, before her eyes adjusted to the dim light and she saw her master standing in front of his bed, his back towards her. There was someone in the bed. Her curiosity piqued after all, she came up to his side and looked down at the sleeping figure. And gasped.
The man lying there looked so much like her master it was uncanny. The hair on the back of her neck raised in alarm, she threw a glance at her master, just to make sure he was standing by her side, but he seemed lost in thought as he so often did and didn't offer an explanation. On closer inspection there were some differences, they were just difficult to make out in the dim light of the holocron by the bedside. The biggest difference was the lack of an eyepatch, of course, but the man in the bed was also younger. And kind of pretty. Ugh, what the fuck was wrong with her. She shook her head in disgust, clearing the repulsive thoughts from her mind.
“What do you want me to do with him?” From the thousand questions in her mind that seemed the most important one to ask right now.
Her master turned his piercing gaze to her, considering his answer for a few long seconds before he looked back at the bed: “Look after him. I'll be back in a few weeks.”
Yes, Idalia remembered he had been called off world on some important mission for the Dark Council. She nodded, still incredibly thrown off balance by what her eyes were showing her. “Of course, master.”
Her master had already started to turn around, but he looked back at her with a frown on his face. Voice dangerously low as he added: “See that nothing happens to him while I am away.”
His lips twisted into a smile that was somehow not reassuring at all. “I'm counting on you, apprentice.”
 🗡️ Var'lin
Raw power ★★★ (he's a Jedi knight but not insanely powerful, he's more of an archivist and researcher than a fighter, however: his power has been growing over the past few years and he's definitely going to fight dirty if he has to)
Formal Training ★★ (the basic Jedi training, he might be an archivist but he also knows how to use that lightsaber of his)
Combat experience ★★ (wasn't involved in a lot of fighting until recently, fought in some major battles and had his quiet life upturned after meeting Shelly and being wounded on Balmorra)
Willingness to kill ★★ (higher rating than the average Jedi, who I would say only kill if they absolutely have to)
Previous victims★★ (and to think that until recently he had only killed a few people... the influence of the dark side really made him rack up his kill count)
💋Varlin /Shelly?
Their first kiss was on a battlefield!
In the aftermath of this battle. The prompt for the story was "adrenaline" but that also sums up their first kiss pretty accurately. It was Shelly who initiated the kiss. She pushed Var'lin up against the wall and kissed him passionately. He was a bit confused at first (and had a head wound which seems to be a recurring theme with him idk), but decided to roll with it.
I remember his immediate reaction to her kiss:
She was crazy. Crazy and beautiful.
What do you think? What was going through her head?
