that feel when Garou's "I would need to kill all three... but that's impossible!" isn't just in reference to the fact that it is physically impossible in his current state, but also that in his right mind he would never be able to take Bang's life no matter how dire the circumstances :')
Referring to when he was cornered by Genos, Bang, and Bomb and legitimately believed that even his old man was out to kill him (aka 'put him down' out of his misery like a rabid beast...) in his most desperate 'kill or be killed' situation struggling for his very survival... Where Garou's sense of hurt, heartbreak, betrayal, and disappointment towards his old man Bang seemingly outright rejecting him in detached cold blood was very palatable...
And yet it's exactly as you say - despite Bang's perceived harsh treatment towards him, in Garou's right state of mind, it's absolutely correct that he couldn't possibly bring himself to kill him in return. :O Because he subconsciously cares too much. (His heart's too soft.) We see his genuine relief when Bang survives later, and Garou's awakened fury driven to save Bang's life from FU when on the cusp of death too. That's the true reflection of how he feels. No matter how much he dishonestly struggles to admit it. (And deep down truthfully craves for Bang's validation and acceptance...) Because just like how much he cares for Tareo, Garou would rather die than see his loved ones killed. (He proves this when he later sacrifices his life for his.)
Which is also why it's incredibly cruel and fucked up when god's corruption forces him to radiate death in a hands-off, indirect way (with the horrible loophole being...he never actually had to lay hands on them for them to die anyway) beyond his knowledge or conscious understanding. Just by being in close proximity to him (which is what Garou specifically tried to avoid by keeping his distance from Tareo) was enough for Garou to 'kill' them. And that's why the realization, that it was 'his fault' they died, thoroughly breaks and devastates him so...:'))
