I know I don't post about bnha too much (or at all, really), but my fav ship is TodoDeku actually. I'm saying this because I just remembered I have an au in my drafts where Todoroki and Momo have a private book club, which is just them both picking books to read and recommend to the other and talking about stuff (cofcof crushes cofcof), and find out about the light novels with the "villainess noble girl" trope. —If you don't know what that is, it's like, a female character that is aware of her doomed fate or everyone thinks she's evil (be it true or not). An example is Katarina Claes (HameFura), or Iris from Common Sense of the Duke's Daughter—
Anyways, he starts to see parallels between his novel's characters and the people around him and his conspiracy theorist brain believes it's not a coincidence. Momo gets dragged to his shenanigans, and then the two of them start following people around trying to unveil the mystery. I think Uraraka and Jirou join them later? That's about it, I think.
Oh. The "villainess girl" character was either Izuku or Shinsou. I can't remember. But it was a Tododeku.

Mizutori’s bakudeku fanfiction master list [complete works]
Really really good writing by these incredible authors. In no particular order! These are all Top!Bakugou and Bottom!Deku. If A/B/O dynamics then it’s Alpha!Bakugou and Omega!Deku. Yes, I have preferences.
Canon World – until 15k
What The Fuck Did You Just Call Me? by reading_raindrop | 8,303 | Izuku starts calling him Bakugou and it pisses the explosive teen off a lot more than he thought it would.
Oh right, you were a little sh*t by SaysiWrites | 5,653 | When Midoriya Izuku gets hit by an age-reversion Quirk, the last thing anyone expected to find out is that Toddler-Izuku is a little shit. Except for one Bakugou Katsuki, who has seen this phase one too many times already. (Bonus+ the entire Little Sh*t (Kidfic) series)
Do Not Disturb by surveycorpsjean | 10,010 | Apply enough force, and something is bound to break.
And Atlas fell by supercrunch | 15,185 | They move in together, after a while. Katsuki joins Best Jeanist and Izuku trains under Gran Torino. They still take comfort in each other every day, curl up in bed and kiss and talk about how life is going. Their live are tumultuous, after all, what with villains and training and rescuing people every week. It’s nice to have something certain. At the end of a day filled with violence and adrenaline, Izuku knows he can come home to someone concrete. It’s perfect. Being a hero is scary and grueling and uncertain, but this part is just right. And then, one day, a child dies in Izuku’s arms.
be loved by bonnia | 5,403 | The kidnapping incident leaves bakugou traumatised about being touched on the back of his neck, and midoriya decides to take matters into his own hands.
Big Protein by Mysecretfanmoments | 13,683 | Bakugou Katsuki has a thriving hero career, an agent to manage his famous attitude, and absolutely zero romantic interest in anyone. With the exception of his favourite health food joint refusing to expand to his city, his life is pretty damn perfect—so why does a viral video revealing Deku's stash of dirty mags involving him and Deku together turn everything upside-down?
Chocolate cake and resin preserved flowers by Anoksun | 11,396 | Izuku loses his memories. Katsuki struggles not to lose Izuku too.
Twin Stars by theperksofbeinglarissa | 8,435 | When Deku saves a woman's life, her quirk is accidentally activated. Her quirk? She reveals a person's soulmate. A star-shaped mark appears on Midoriya's left arm... and on Bakugou's as well. Kirishima is the only one who knows that Bakugou is Midoriya's soulmate, and Bakugou isn't taking the news very well. Can the twin stars of class 1-A work out their differences and find their happy ending?
Unhealthy Fixations by Thesis | 12,522 | Izuku is an adult who knows better than to crush on his childhood bully. AND YET.
Like the Moon by osakakitty | 14,781 | Katsuki Bakugo is having constant, erotic dreams about Izuku Midoriya. He isn’t sure why, but they won’t go away. In order to make them stop, he needs to figure out what Izuku Midoriya means to him.
Worth a Second Shot by cinnabee | 13,080 | Katsuki and Izuku celebrate registering as a Hero Duo together with a big party. What could go wrong?
Like Something Out of A Shoujo Manga by Merrywetherweather | 2,971 | Deku ends up in a rather interesting quirk accident, one that triggers flag events as if he were the protagonist of an otome game.
Canon World – 15k++
Blood Moon by lalazee | 94,860 | The Thank-Fuck-We-Aren’t-Dead Sex had started then, and had never really stopped. Then came the feelings and the fights. The ego, the pride, the jealousy. And then there was Us.
The Way You Used To Do by edema_ruh | 669,463 | During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Just Like Breathing by MD_Daydreamer | 35,423 | Izuku got engaged. He didn't mind. If that made Uraraka happy, he could do it. He thought his life wouldn't change much. But then, Kacchan went to live in the USA.
briar roses (and hundred years of sleep) by vannral | 15,951 | In which Izuku is hit by a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Quirk, Class 3-A tries to find his True Love and get them to kiss him, and Katsuki’s very angry about it all.
"what's your type?" by sapphicflower | 20,192 | In order to increase their popularity rankings as up and coming pro heroes, Izuku and Katsuki participate in the most popular late night talk show for hero duos - ‘Heroes Rising!’. They’re killing it, obviously, because they know each other from inside and out. Until one question stumps the two of them: “What is your hero partner’s type?”
and it was Just Right by cinnabee | 23,759 | Katsuki spends two years post-graduation in a furious one-sided competition with his childhood friend and rival's promotional photos - until they finally run into each other, and, well. You shouldn't believe everything you see in magazines. A love story about size differences.
Notice Me, Nerd by useless_donut | 40,000 | Bakugou is in love with Midoriya. He doesn’t hide it, in fact it’s so painfully obvious that the entire class of 3-A has him figured out in a matter of months (days, in some cases). Too bad Midoriya is the most oblivious motherfucker out there, and Bakugou is too damn stubborn to actually ask him out. A love story as witnessed by the class of 3-A.
in your dreams, nerd! by sapphicflower | 37,639 | In a strange and unexpected set of circumstances, Izuku and Katsuki find themselves sharing their dreams together whenever they happen to fall asleep at the same time. Being hopelessly in love with each other, they don’t mind it all that much. What better way to spend time with your crush than in a stupidly vivid dream?
Hear Me by my_name_is_Levi | 22,419 | It wasn’t as if nightmares were uncommon for the freshman class of Yuuei. They’d seen plenty of things, heard and felt and witnessed enough travesty in their lives to last them a lifetime. But Midoriya Izuku was screaming, and no one, not even Bakugo Katsuki could ignore it.
Bridges by supercrunch | 18,018 | Bakugou is signed up for a Calvin Klein modeling gig. The thing is, they really do need the money. And Katsuki's technically the leader of this bunch of morons, so he finds himself taking the job even though his pride will never recover. And even though nobody thought to tell him that he'd be working with his ex-boyfriend. You know, the cute freckled guy from high school who went and broke his heart. So, yeah. This whole situation kind of sucks.
objective truth by mamalade | 15,390 | Izuku gets hit with a truth quirk, as one does. He seems to be handling it well—until Katsuki shows up.
catharsis by dollcewrites | 15,071 | It's been six years since Izuku graduated. It's been six years since he confessed to his childhood friend; his classmate and his inspiration. It's been six years since he deleted Bakugou's number, asked his friends not to mention the name, spent every last effort of his heart turning off the TV and averting his eyes from the newspapers. It's been six, long, long years since he gave up on Katsuki Bakugou ever loving him back.
Here here, my friends and me (You are my familia) by Jeka | 128,832 | Bakugou Katsuki has made a great job of ignoring the fact that he is tragically in love with Deku, someone who could never love him like that and let's face it, he doesn't deserve. Now that he can't ignore it anymore, he has to find a way to keep his childhood friend and move on for his own sake. Or so he had thought, maybe he can have Deku, after all. Izuku has everything he always wanted in life. But suddenly he has to navigate the most important relationship in his life through different eyes.
Canon World – Jealous!
Hands Off by SaysiWrites | 7,140 | When a new girl at school starts flirting with Bakugou, his friends quickly become invested in the idea of their friend experiencing love - even if he doesn't seem at all interested in her. What they don't see is Midoriya fuming in the background. But how can he get rid of her when they've spent so long keeping their relationship a secret?
Surfaces by surveycorpsjean | 25,225 | Katsuki has a new girlfriend, but something isn't right. As impossible as it is, Izuku can't help but wonder what it'd be like to be called Katsuki's girl.
Green-Eyed Beast by SecretKiwi | 4,721 | Everyone wants a piece of Katsuki Bakugou, but they should beware of the Green-eyed beast always lurking close behind him.
Green with Envy by Sol_Morales707 | 2,611 | Izuku Midoriya is not as innocent and pure as everyone thinks he is. The truth was he was very jealous and willing to do anything for a certain blonde.
Happy Camper by Arysa | 7,074 | Wanting a break from the stress of dealing with the rookie Pro Hero grind, a handful of students from Class A decide to go on a camping trip. Deku's Already Fucking Taken by asdfjkl129 | 20,704 | 5 times people don't realize that Deku is already in a very happy relationship and try their hand at asking him out, and then in Bakugou's unique and special style, get very firmly corrected, +1 time where no correction is needed.
His by sister_elric | 6,206 | Izuku would like to consider himself a pretty level headed individual. Sure, he had the occasional tunnel vision, especially when it came to training. And hero work. And Kacchan. But, overall, Midoriya felt as though he typically kept his cool. Well, maybe that was a stretch. But, at the very least he could understand his own emotions. So, it surprised even him when an unfamiliar emotion coursed through him as a first year approached his boyfriend, Katsuki.
Down the Red Line by MinervaHope | 7,804 | Izuku has been able to see the red strings of fate since birth. It's no surprise that his is connected to Katsuki.
Canon World – Fake Relationship Goes Wrong
how he should’ve known (and how it turned out) by vannral | 43,918 | In which Katsuki and Izuku pretend to be a couple to avoid journalists, the plan backfires magnificently because of course it does, and the act goes on. Includes feelings, pining, domestic fluff and jealousy.
Vicious by feelslikefire | 105,173 | Midoriya and Bakugou wind up in the very last position either of them thought they'd be in: Hero Partners. It's not fun, but they learn to cope. we'll do the things that lovers do by ethereals | 29,544 | Izuku gets an invitation to Shouto's wedding and Katsuki is PISSED that he asks Kirishima to be his date (also he wasn't even fucking invited
Canon World – Friends With Benefits (?)
Four Times Bakugou Katsuki Doesn't Intend to Sleep With Midoriya Izuku (And the One Time that He Does) by fallingraine85 | 17,601 | He hadn’t planned for any of this. He isn’t about to go delving into the ball of yarn that is Midoriya Izuku’s heart; he isn’t equipped to try and untangle and make sense of it all. He isn’t about to try to analyze how he’s feeling about all of this, either.... How many times can you repeat the same mistake?
We Wear Chains on the Weekend by surveycorpsjean | 35,086 | Well, in a day of revelations, it turns out that Izuku isn't as vanilla as Katsuki previously thought. Unfortunately, that fascinating discovery is overshadowed by Izuku's dumbassery, because he has zero concept of aftercare."Don't go to anyone else," Katsuki says, because screw it. He can do a better job anyways. Or; Katsuki finds Izuku on a bad drop.
Just for Now by Shiro_Kabocha | 48,135 | Katsuki's parents are out of town over a school break and to keep him from getting up to any shenanigans, they ask Izuku to house sit with him. What are two teenaged boys to do when left alone to their own devices? (Bonus+ the entire Just for Love series)

Alternative Universe – No Quirks
Bluebird by EtherealBeing | 53,108 | Dialing a wrong number was no unusual occurrence. Everyone did it once in a while, and Katsuki was well aware of that fact. However, possessing this knowledge made it no less aggravating for him to discover — a full two minutes into his rant about his day — that he’d been venting his frustrations to a complete stranger. As if that wasn't enough, said stranger was also inexplicably determined to hear his story to its end.
Someone Borrowed by mynameis152 | 138,996 | It felt like hours that he stared at Izuku, coming to terms with the fact that a man, his childhood best friend, whom he hadn’t seen since their senior year of high school, was there in front of his very eyes. Then his brows furrowed and his jaw clenched before he uttered through gritted teeth the very name Izuku had longed to hear for years. “Deku.”
Dark Side of the Sun by Synnie | 51,598 | Staying up too late playing video games, Kirishima wasn't expecting to get an urgent call begging for help. Next thing he knew, he was letting his classmate Izuku Midoriya take refuge in his apartment - without consulting his always angry roommate.

But he called anyway. Turns out all he has to do is to be the spoiled little puppy of a rich businessman.
Our Eleven Summers by Dark_Mage_Ayumu | 34,472 | The first time Katsuki met Izuku was when he was eight. For the next eleven years, Izuku changed his life, and no one even knew. Their relationship was something they shared in secret.
sticky note crushes by ladyofsnails | 3,239 | Katsuki hates his roommate. The green-haired, freckled, artsy son of a bitch with his dumb pun t-shirts and paint-stained hands he can’t fucking keep to himself. Katsuki can’t leave a single assignment or paper out in his room because that idiot will just grab anything to draw on it. He’s like a shark that can’t stop swimming else it’ll die – he can’t stop drawing. Ever.
Don't Play Pretend by SweetSide | 10,103 | Actor AU: Deku and Bakugou get the leading roles for an upcoming TV Drama. They weren’t aware that they would be working with each other for who knows how long. It would’ve been completely fine if they weren’t exes.

A/B/O – Quirks
Mark Me. Make Me Yours. by decadentbynature | 10,062 | Midoriya is the only Omega at UA and he's been hiding it well but there's one issue that threatens to expose him: his attraction to an Alpha, Bakugo. After being told to give some paperwork to Bakugo, Midoriya lets him into his dorm room and is immediately overwhelmed by his scent. Unable to help himself, he gives in to his urges, only to be discovered by Bakugo but instead of becoming enraged, Bakugo decides to give Midoriya exactly what he wants
Claim Me by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 114,449 | Being an Alpha has nothing to do with Katsuki's success as a Pro-Hero, the same way Deku's Omega status hasn't kept him from becoming Number Two. Secondary gender doesn't mean anything nowadays and “mating” is an antiquated practice. So when Izuku, his rival, asks Katsuki to Claim him in the middle of the night, there is only one logical thing to say. “What the fuck?”
Change of Plans by Mikacrispy | 185,965 | Alpha Pro Hero Bakugou Katsuki never planned to get married to some random omega but what he wants isn't an option anymore. One for All wielder Midoriya Izuku has suffered injustice too many times and doesn't plan in allowing his secondary gender to dictate how he must live his life. Falling in love was never in the plans.
Going Feral For You by ANGIE_fic | 17,977 | Bakugou has an aggression problem that might have to do with his Alpha. His job is on the line because of it. So what do you do with a pent up Alpha? Yes.Rut. (Quirkless Izuku)
i live for you, i long for you by jeonjeonggukkkkkie | 19,165 | The five times Izuku hinted he wants Katsuki to spend his next heat with him, and the one time Katsuki took the hint.
Baby's First Bloom by ContraryBee | 44,945 | Izuku blooms for Katsuki one warm day in their third year of middle school. What follows is both boys learning about themselves, their bond, and the society they live in.
As Fate Would Have It by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 88,737 | Katsuki Bakugo had plenty of reasons why he wasn't mated yet, not that he was going to explain why to just anyone. But now, Ground Zero was running out of time. If he didn't find someone soon, he'd lose his position as a Pro-Hero and he'd never get to be #1. So, when he finds out there's a male Omega recently arrested for prostitution that's headed to prison if he too doesn't get a mate…well it must be fate. (Quirkless Izuku)
A/B/O – No Quirks
Gravity by warschach | 71,477 | Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round. Not that he cares, pfft. (Fine, he cares.)
Nine Months by greatcloudninja | 23,303 | Omega Midoriya Izuku connects with Alpha Bakugou Katsuki through an online singles ad. Izuku pays Katsuki to help him with his heat, ending up pregnant in the process. What follows is a pregnancy filled with ups and downs, but whatever hurdles come their way, they can make it through together.
The long dark by Ominous-Anonymous (Ominonymous) | 13,289 | He could have been really dangerous. He could be a fucking murderer for all he knew. But Izuku Midoriya, ever the reckless daredevil, was not thinking of that when he got into a car with a complete stranger. Completely ignoring the part where his mother always taught him to never gets into cars with alphas he didn't know...

SFW Alphabet: Izuku Midoriya
Aaaaand here’s everyone’s favorite green bean! Look at my baby, all grown up and ready to destroy people. (wipes away tear)
(Both of y’all are around 16 here. Don’t worry, nothing horrible here! Just two dorks in love.)
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
He’s incredibly affectionate to you. He’s definitely more of a verbal affirmation kind of guy (and if you identify as female he’s gonna be horribly flustered if you try to hug him). He always talks to you and encourages you, and his smile is just adorable.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Your friendship likely started when he was on a trip into town and he noticed you needed some help carrying a couple of boxes. The two of you hit it off right away (especially due to the fact that you were wearing an All Might shirt). As your best friend, he’s incredibly chatty and smiley. He loves hanging out with you and just talking about things. When you first showed him your Quirk, he was so starstruck that you both spent an entire lunch just talking about it. He’s so sweet it’s hard not to get along with him.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
He’s so shy with physical affection it’s hard to cuddle with him without him fainting. Usually he only cuddles with you when he’s half-asleep and unaware of what he’s doing, and only then he pulls you to his side and all but curls himself around you.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
He can cook a little bit, and he can clean fairly well. At the moment, he doesn’t want to settle down. He wants to become a pro hero first. Judging by his commitment to the grind, the day he gets married and has a family may never come.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
It would kill him, but he’d set you down and gently explain why you can’t be together anymore. He would keep any and all tears at bay until he’s alone, and then he spends a night training and crying, trying to get your hurt expression out of his mind.
F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
He’s very reluctant to commit. He’s still just a teenager, after all, and he’s got a whole career as a hero ahead of him. He doesn’t want to get married because he doesn’t want his loved ones in danger; he already keeps his mom fairly out of the loop just because he doesn’t want Shigaraki going after her.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
He’s definitely a little more gentle with you in both ways. He really cares for you and doesn’t want to hurt you, especially while you’re a civilian. This can be a bit of a double-edged sword at times, but he more than makes up for it.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Having grown up with a really affectionate mom, Izuku likes hugs. He can’t help but get horribly flustered every time you hug him, but he does love them. He’s not going to initiate it, but he hugs back tight enough so that you can’t be separated. Sometimes when he’s sleepy he’ll wander around and hug you, hiding his face in your neck as he mumbles something about his mother. It’s really cute.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
It would take a lot for him to realize he caught feelings for you. Like, a lot. This boy is so oblivious it’s likely he’d never actually say it. It would take you telling him for him to start thinking about it, and even then it would be a while before he admits it back.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
He can get fairly jealous, but depending on who it is he’s not going to act on it. Usually it comes about that he gets insecure about your relationship and is worried that you’ll find someone better than him. If he gets a seriously bad vibe about the person you’re with, he'll go up to you and try to walk you away.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
If you kiss him right on the mouth, he’s going to pass out. If you kiss him on the cheek, he gets red as a tomato and starts stuttering. It can be irritating sometimes. He does like it, though; he’s just so shy he doesn’t initiate. Sometimes he’ll kiss your forehead absentmindedly.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
He’s pretty good around little kids. He’s got a way about him that gets their attention. It’s so adorable seeing him interact with kids like Kota and Eri due to how obviously starstruck they are.
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
Whoa now, both of you are still first-years. I don’t imagine ever sleeping at the same place (unless he needs a place to crash at in the future). Going ahead a few years, when he’s already a pro, it’s likely he’d get up way before you, cook breakfast for you, eat, and leave -- leaving a note saying that he thanks you for your hospitality and he’s sorry to impose. What a gentleman.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Again, going into the future when he’s a pro, the only way he’s staying the night at your place is if something happens and he needs to stay. He’s incredibly apologetic as he thanks you for letting him stay. He retires to the guest bed when you retire to your room, and he’s out like a light.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
He doesn’t reveal anything about OFA, of course, but sometimes he’ll give you tidbits about his life. He tends to be a bit more hesitant about his past, but he has lots of stories about the present that he likes to share.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
He can be very patient, especially when it comes to his friends. It takes a fair bit to set him off. Usually it’s when he sees an injustice that his friendly smile drops and he gets serious. Or when Bakugo is being horribly rude again, though that’s more of a rarity these days.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
He documents everything he can about you. Sometimes this accidentally creeps into stalking territory, but he’s usually good about realizing that and backing off. He tries to remember everything you tell him about yourself because of how close you are.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
His favorite moment? He has a lot that he considers his ‘favorites’. Picking just one, though, he fondly remembers the first time you told him you loved him -- he was in the hospital after a bad run-in with a villain, and you visited him with flowers and tears, demanding that he not be so reckless because you loved him. It really got him thinking about your relationship and kicked off his realization that he loved you back.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
He’s incredibly protective of those he cares about, and you are definitely not an exception. He’s so protective he would rather pull a Nana Shimura than let you get hurt because of him, so you’ll have to do a lot of scolding to get him to stay put.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
He puts his all into stuff between you two. Gifts for every date, he remembers every anniversary (and gives you presents for that too), occasionally brings you your favorite snack whenever he sees you -- there’s a reason he jotted down everything he knows about you.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Like I said before, he’s so self-sacrificing that he would pull a Nana before ever letting you get targeted. It can be infuriating when he avoids you for a while due to this, and while he is incredibly apologetic it’s the first thing his mind goes to. His mumbling can be a bit irritating if you don’t have the patience for it. He can be a bit of a stalker towards certain people until they realize and tell him to quit. He’s so dedicated to being a hero that it’s often all he thinks about.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
He can be concerned, but only when he looks at his scars. Sometimes he can be fairly self-conscious about how scarred his body is, especially when he gets depressed and anxious.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Honestly? At first, but he would push it down in time. He loves you so much that he would rather you not have to associate with him if it meant you were safe, and no matter how much that hurts, he would do it. It doesn’t mean he wouldn’t keep an eye on you from afar, but eventually he would be able to push the pain down and go about his duties.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Gets incredibly clingy when he’s half-awake. So much so that Bakugo is the only one who’s used to it the first time it happens in the dorms (and surprisingly doesn’t make a fuss). Whenever there’s a major exam, there’s at least one night where Izuku passes out on someone and will not stop clinging to them. Usually it’s Uraraka or Iida, much to the former’s excitement/embarrassment.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
Nothing villainous. Nobody rude, or abusive, or manipulative. He’s had enough abuse from his peers, and now that he’s got a healthy friend group, he’s not going to tolerate that from even a s/o. Especially not anyone who’s against the hero world. As much as he has his doubts, he’s not going to go out with a villain.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
Fairly regular sleeping pattern, given that he’s only a student. He goes to bed kinda late, but wakes up early to work out.

BNHA AU Ideas: Puppydog Tails
Also on AO3!
TL;DR:
Izuku manifests his quirk, and watches his old life burn in front of him in a matter of months. Scared the villains that killed his mother will come after him, he uses his shape-shifting quirk to hide in plain sight as Katsuki's dog. They keep each other safe and sane throughout the years, a duo people become uses to seeing as they jog down the sidewalk each morning.
Izuku doesn't just use his quirk to help Katuski. His heroic spirit can't be crushed so easily. In his wanderings, he meets and helps countless people, from heroes to Katsuki's future classmates.
Let's just say Katsuki's first day of school is a wild one.
basically, izuku is a shapeshifter, but can only change into different mammals. he needs to know their internal organ structure perfectly or he's in trouble too.
he manifests his quirk and quickly goes about learning some common but practical animals like a small cat, greyhound, mouse, bat and rabbit
he and bakugo are friends
his good times dont last long though, his mother is killed for a connection to a villain she didnt know she had (probably dad for one) and the villain group is after izuku as well
they don't know his quirk, he honestly hadn't gotten it registered yet
inko tells izuku to run, hide and be safe, right before shes practically cremated where she stands by a powerful fire quirk. izuku runs, shifts into a small dog and goes the only place he can think: the park he and bakugo play in
now, mitsuki is frantic bc inko's house is on fire and they can't find inko or izuku
katsuki doesn't know whats happening though, and she sends him off to the park in case they start pulling bodies out of the building. katsuki is happy to go, asks if he can bring izuku. mitsuki says izukuis busy
katsuki goes to the park and hears a soft whining sound, he finds izuku, hidden behind a tree, smelling like ash
izuku shifts back to a human and explains that villains hurt his mama and they want to hurt him too
katsuki, crying, tells him to change back into a dog. he'll keep him safe from the villains. izuku agrees, only if he can look after katsuki in turn.
they don't tell mitsuki. izuku is worried she'll get hurt, and part of his is also worried she knew about the villains and said nothing.
Katsuki and dog!izuku run back to the house, only finding charred bones where his mother had been
they both sob
mitsuki finds her son, sobbing as he clutches a tiny dog to his chest, seeing a sight so horrific she herself wants to throw up. when he asks if they can keep the puppy later that night, it's not even a question in her mind. of course they can. Anything to keep that broken expression off her son’s face.
katsuki changes after that. his best friend and friends mother apparently dead, he gets angry, but he's scared to go out where there are lots of people. he's scared of the villains that killed izuku's mum, scared they'll hurt them like they hurt inko
he goes to therapy. they quickly work out the dog is helping him cope, so izuku is trained as a therapy dog. he does astoundingly well, unsurprisingly.
katsuki ends up bullied for his service dog, but the amount they help each other is enough for him to be willing to put up and shut up
the only time he ever explodes is when someone hurts his dog, 'deku' and it's not like izuku sits idly by while katsuki gets hurt either
anyway, izuku likes to wander, whenever katsuki doesn't have school or is feeling particularly good, he'll go on an adventure, normally as a different animal
every animal he shifts into is green, so katsuki sometimes sees him when he's out and smiles
izuku's heroic spirit is undying, even as an animal, which kinda leads to him sticking his nose where it doesn't belong and helping out kids he thinks need the help.
he hears shouting and crying from the foster home down the road, sees a child muzzled
he goes hero watching as a kitten, sees the small child standing too stoic on the front lines as endeavour fights. he follows him home, whistling songs to the kid when he cries, perching on his shoulder when he sees him
ochako remembers the fluffy puppy with its massive paws showing up at her door when the power went out during winter, keeping her warm with its curly green-black fur
aizawa knows of the kitten that ages too slowly and keeps bringing troubled children to him
iida remembers the rabbit that used to race him on the tracks. without his quirk its was honestly a challenge
kirishima knows about a dark colour fawn that would always come over to him when he was upset and let him bury his face in its fur and cry
mina remembers the little green bat that nested in her hair and clumsily copied her as she danced, its colour making her feel better about her own
Tsuyu would often see a little green and black tanuki when she’d take her siblings out. It always kept them safe and out of danger and never failed to make her smile on a bad day.
he earns shinsou's trust as a too-small kitten, along with aizawa's (just out of school, learning to be an underground hero) , until he can drag aizawa to the house during the shouting. shinsou gets out, aizawa gains a son
shouto's best memories from his childhood are of the little cat that always showed up when he felt his worst, who purred like an engine in his arms and was never afraid of him
he also remembers seeing it the day he dyes his hair. its licks his nose
Even heroes know about the little green dog that watches from the sidelines. They’ve seen it drag civilians from danger, look for people in buried rubble and comfort crying children. It doesn’t often approach them, but it tends to do a little happy dance if they pet it, wagging its tail 1000 miles an hour if a hero so much as looks at it.
They call it little green, seeing him basically becomes a good luck charm. Even All Might feels a little better when he sees the little dog catching from the crowd, knowing it’ll keep some too-brave civilians safe from attacks and falling rubble.
When Katsuki applies for UA, his class doesn’t cheer him on. They whisper about the kid so angry, unstable and scared he brings a puppy to class. Izuku leans against Katsuki’s leg in support, unable to do anything for his friend. The teacher pays it no mind.
He’s told not to apply. He’s not normal or sane enough to be any help to anyone, they say. Katsuki flips them off and puts UA in all three slots on his form.
He takes Izuku with him on the day of the entrance exam. He tells himself it’s so Izuku can see the school at least once, if he doesn’t get in. Deep down he knows it’s because he’s scared and doesn’t want to be alone. Izuku doesn’t mind either way, he’s just excited to cheer on his best friend and get to look at some heroes.
He does leave Izuku with the teachers. He can take care of himself, but the idea of dragging him into a situation where he might accidentally burn his only friend? It makes him feel sick. Izuku understands. He’d do anything for Katsuki, but he was still scared to enter the exam location. He never did get over his fear of fire.
Izuku ends up in the monitor room. The teachers are trying not to coo over the too smart, too nice puppy. It’s All Might that recognises him.
“Is that, is that little green? The dog who always shows up at hero fights?”
Nemuri is ecstatic
“It totally is! I love that little guy! Hey little cutie, did you know you were famous? All the heroes around here love you!”
Aizawa, Nezu and Present Mic all separately notice that the dog honestly… he honestly looks flustered. Excited, yes, but almost sheepish. Aizawa draws some internal connections to the green and overly brave ‘stray’ kitten he’s seen his whole career. Nezu looks at the fur colour and thinks “quirked, like me. But was he always an animal?”. Present Mic sees the humanity in those eyes.
All three of them say nothing, filling the information away for later.
Katsuki ends up in the arena with Iida and Uraraka. He recognises both of them from Izuku’s whisper descriptions in the rare moments he let himself slip into human form.
Tall, broad, clearly the younger brother of Ingenium; that’s the stiff boy Izuku raced as a rabbit, trying to get him to loosen up and connect with those around him.
Round-faced, bright cheeks, fierce eyes and a body a little too thin from too many hungry nights? That’s the girl Izuku looked for when it got too cold, just to make sure he heating was working. She’d moved away from home, apparently. Izuku had found her new house and gave it a once over – if he figured it was safe, Katsuki would believe him. Izuku was the most paranoid person he’d ever met.
He almost went to say something. But Iida’s stern glare curdled his nerves. He shot back a snarl and focused on getting ready.
Back in the viewing room, Nemuri and Yagi are not so subtly fighting over Izuku. They are both trying to call him over, offer little bits of food, give him a good pat. It’s a little funny for Aizawa to watch as the poor pup ties himself in knots trying to please the both of them. He notes vaguely that he doesn’t take the food bribes from either of them.
Yagi is winning slightly, on virtue of being All Might, but Nemuri is not above begging a dog. It works shockingly well, with Izuku not wanting to upset a hero. She sends smug look’s All Might’s way as she triumphantly pats Izuku.
Mic yells start, the student's flood into the arena. Katsuki makes short work of the robots, racking up a score of 50 in almost record time. The teachers watch as ‘Deku’ clearly tracks his charge across the screen, whining softly when he pushes himself a little too far or gets a little too close to the robots.
Then the zero pointer is released and all hell breaks loose.
Katsuki sees Uraraka, trapped. He can’t leave her; not one of Izuku’s people. He’d never forgive himself for letting someone important to Izuku get hurt ever again.
He doesn’t realise Izuku couldn’t stand seeing him hurt, either.
He blasts the rubble apart, shielding Uraraka with his body, preventing her from being hailed with slivers of rubble. Uraraka sees not another student, but a hero, saving her when she thought she might die, selflessly giving up time to save someone he didn’t know. She vows to make it up to him, somehow.
It’s not enough, the robot looms too close. Bracing himself as best he can, Katsuki lets out the largest explosion he can muster, uncaring of the damage it may do to his wrists. If he gets crushed, his wrists hardly matter, do they?
The robot shakes, then topples backwards, overbalanced by the blast. Katsuki drops to his knees, both wrists dislocated. He’s hissing swears under his breath.
Uraraka sees a lump of rock flying to him as he sits there, prone from the attack that saved her life. She leaps towards it, leaving it weightless before it can hit him. The action leaves her hand red raw from the force of the rock.
Time is called. They both collapse.
Izuku is off of the door the second the explosion sounds. It’s so big it rattles the monitors in their room. Nemuri tries to stop him, reaching for his collar, but his collar doesn’t fit a mouse. He shifts into the smaller form, scampering out the door upon where he shifts into a greyhound.
He takes off full tilt towards his friend's exam arena. He's panicked and scared – the flash of fire and the pained look in Katsuki’s eyes have totally fried his nerves.
The doors aren’t open yet. He doesn’t care, shifting into a bat until he can clear them, diving down as fast as he can. He shifts again into a greyhound, racing though the robots – broken and sparking.
He sees Katsuki, jaw grit tightly as he fights back tears of pain, and Izuku lets out a pathetic whine, running full tilt towards his best friend, before lingering nervously in front of him, unwilling to touch him lest he hurt him.
“Oh get over here, Deku.” There are tears in Katsuki’s eyes still, but he’s smiling softly. Izuku shifts once more, into the softest dog he can, pressing against his friend as his tail wags like mad.
Present Mic calls time. If he was a solid 30 seconds late as he tried to process the whirlwind of chaos that little,,, dog? Left, well no one was going to notice. Other than Nezu, obviously, but the maybe-rat seemed just a confused as him.
Uraraka turns to her hero, only to see the little dog that would warm her on cold nights. She turns to him, wide-eyed. Izuku sticks his head over Katsuki’s shoulder, making happy yips at her.
Iida stumbles over, confused as to how a dog got in, confuses as to how he clearly saw it change between two distinct dog breeds in its quest to reach the prickly boy he’d seen at the entrance, who had just seriously injured himself to save a stranger.
The dog looks at him, then perks up. It gives a quick snuggle into its owner's hair before trotting over to him. It wags its tail. Iida looks on, confused.
Before his eyes, he watches the dog shift into what is unmistakably the rabbit he remembers from his earlier childhood, the one that would race him around tracks until it’s little legs couldn’t race anymore and would bound over to him as happily was a rabbit could.
He stares.
Katsuki watches this and laughs.
“I see you’ve both met Deku.”

How Far Would You Go For Love? Part 1
Hey everyone!! Today I got something different for you all. Not Star vs for once. That’s write, I branched out a little and wrote for another series I’m really into. My Hero Academia. I’ve been in love with this show for years and decided it would be fun to actually make something for this fun and entertaining show. So here I am! This story is gonna be for my fav ship in the show: Uraraka x Deku (I don’t know what the ship name is oops ^^;). I love these two dorks and their chemistry and I had to try my hand at writing them! This story is also in first person so I really am stepping out of my comfort zone for this one haha XD I really hope you enjoy! I had a lot of fun with it and I’m pretty proud of the results!!
I shivered violently as the crisp, cold air sting my face and hands, any semblance of bare skin felt like it was being jabbed with a thousand sharp needles. I scooted closer into the warm body beside me, ignoring any feelings I had in favor of staying warm. I tried to ignore the way the form shifted awkwardly towards me, possibly trying to provide some sense of comfort, either for me or him or both. Thanks to the harsh wind in my ears and loud-pulsing heartbeat I barely heard Deku whisper to me, “It’ll be okay, Uraraka. We’ll find a way out of this.” I knew he was trying to make me feel better, to comfort me in my moment of terror but... well...
Comfort was hard to find when you were a hostage.
At the mental reminder of my situation I licked my lips and shifted uncomfortably, trying to ignore the coarse ropes rubbing up against my wrists or the sharp pain from the movement. My wrists had already been rubbed raw from my pointless struggling, my determination to escape stronger than the pain.
Of course with every moment I became less and less sure escape was an option.
I'm sure Deku didn't feel that way but as always I was well aware just how big a gap there was between us. Deku was a born hero, he saved people without hesitation, and when I was with him I always felt like I could do anything. It’s why I looked up to him and wanted to be by his side. It’s why I strived to be as good a hero as he was someday.
... And it’s the reason I had fallen in love with him.
For a long time I had denied my true feelings for him, justifying them in my own mind to avoid having to face reality, telling myself I just thought he was cool and someone I admired and wanted to be like. But now, faced with the possibility of death or worse, helpless and alone in the hands of a psychotic villain, I no longer had the strength to fight it. If I denied my feelings for him anymore then I might die never coming to terms with them, to let that empty, gaping hole in my heart remain until the end. Because the truth was I had no idea how this all would end. Sure, I knew UA and the other heroes would do everything in their power to save us but-
No, no I can't think like that!I shook my head back and forth to try and rid it of the nasty, taunting thoughts. This isn't the end, it can't be. If I give up then this villain wins. I forced my brain to think straight, to be like Deku, and I took a moment to examine the situation at hand like he would. We were on the roof of some large building, probably abandoned, and although I hadn't gotten a good look over the side, judging by the amount of wind I was being constantly assaulted by we had to be at least 20 stories high. I shivered involuntarily again but forced my brain not to panic.
Instead I tried to remember how we had ended up in this mess, hoping it would offer me a clue out of it.
When Deku had first come to me with two special tickets to the grand opening of the All Might museum he had been beyond excited. I had seen him turn into the fanboy I knew and loved before but this was on a whole different level! He seemed almost over the moon at this. He was practically squealing when he told me in his typical Deku ramble how he had spent the previous night sending in what must have been hundreds of contest entries asking basic questions about All Might’s career and judging by the bags under his eyes he most likely hadn’t slept all night because of it. But all that work must have played off cause he was declared the winner.
And then he offered me the second ticket and I thought I might die right there on the spot. While the museum itself sounded cool and everything, it almost felt like Deku was asking me out on a date! Something I had dreamed would happen for months now. It took every ounce of strength I had not to turn into a blushing, flustered mess at the very idea of such a thing.  I tried not to get my hopes too high and overthink it, but I couldn't help but ask why he picked me out of our whole class, considering anyone would be thrilled to go to a place dedicated to our awesome teacher.
He had grown slightly embarrassed by my question and I could still remember the adorable shade of pink on his cheeks as he explained that I was one of the only people who didn't judge him for his fanboy love of heroes. I tried to tell him nobody cared except maybe Bakugo but  before I got the chance Deku had nervously muttered something along the lines of “It’s different with you. I can be myself around you.”  And if my heart was any fuller in that moment it probably would have exploded.
We both decided to keep our 'date' a secret, Deku worried about upsetting the others for not inviting them, while I was more concerned about the girls finding out. I loved them but they were born gossipers, especially Ashido. The last thing I wanted was the whole school finding out that me and Deku were going on a date. Especially since I don't think Deku meant it to be one.
That still didn't stop me from spending a good two hours picking out the perfect outfit though, while trying to ignore my jittery nerves. I kept telling myself that this wasn't a date. That this was just a get together between two friends, nothing more. But convincing my racing heart of this seemed to be an impossible task. All my hard work paid off in the end when Deku spotted me, blushing and muttering under his breath something about ‘me looking really nice’ and how ‘he wished he had changed out of his All Might t-shirt' but I quickly assured him he looked fine and considering where we were headed, would fit right in.
What happened next I remembered all too well. As if I was reliving the same horrible events all over again.
I can’t believe how lucky I am! Here I am, next to my favorite person in the world, walking side by side with him on a date! Well not technically a date but still it was close enough for me. I can’t stop smiling I’m so happy! Or wait, am I smiling too much? Is Deku gonna think I’m weird cause of how much I’m smiling? I glanced over at my friend, only to find he was too distracted to notice my weird smiling. He was talking to himself or maybe to me, it was hard to tell sometimes, going on and on about something. Probably All Might related if I had to guess. His eyes usually only gleamed like that when talking about his hero. Even if I couldn’t always follow along, I loved listening to how passionate he was about stuff like this and it was hard not to get excited with him, his enthusiasm was contagious.
As I listened to Deku’s adorable rambles, I gave a quick glace up at the towering building coated in All Might’s signature colors of red, white, and blue, his name displayed above the front entrance in bright, flashy letters.
“Hey look, Deku,” I said excitedly to him. “I think that’s the place up ahead.” I pointed it out to him and his green eyes seemed to be filled with starlight. His whole face was practically glowing, he looked like a kid at Christmas, then again for him this probably was like a second Christmas for him. Before I knew it I was smiling like an idiot right alongside him. Date or not, I was just so happy to be here with him. Today was gonna be great because I was gonna get to hang out with the coolest guy I knew. Without realizing it, my hand reached out for his and to my even greater shock and surprise he actually held it back! I felt my cheeks heating up in a blush while my heart was busy pounding away a mile a minute. I was floating on cloud nine! Nothing my quirk could do could possibly make me feel more like this, like I was walking on air, only Deku had that power over me and I loved it.
Just before the two of us could enter into the museum, however, a sudden scream reached our ears. The voice was muted and distorted from distance but there was no denying the call for help, nor the fear in the man’s voice. One quick glance at Deku and I knew we were both on the same wavelength, our thoughts for a moment one. Of course, Deku being Deku, he ran into the alley without a second thought, but I was proud to be right on his heels, ready to prove myself as worthy heroes in training and maybe even Deku’s equal.
We immediately came across the victim, a man crouched on the ground, clutching his chest as if he was in some kind of pain. My lessons kicked in as I did my best to survey the situation: the man was alone so it didn’t seem to be a villain attack, from what I could see he wasn’t bleeding out or in any critical state, although that could be shielded by his arm. I watched as Deku knelt next to him, putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder, asking the standard questions: ‘If he was alright?’, ‘What we could do to help?’, that kind of thing. But for some reason I felt an uneasy twist in my gut. Something wasn’t quite… right.
Instead of answering his concerned questions, the man simply asked Deku if we were heroes. Something about the tone of his voice set me off, there was no sincerity there, only an underlying malice. But before I could voice these concerns, though, Deku had already replied with a cheerful smile. "Actually we're UA students."
The man smiled and I heard him whisper something dark under his breath, before his hands lashed out and grabbed onto Deku’s arm.
I saw the look of confusion on Deku’s face before he realized the danger and started to pull away, lifting his leg to kick. The man, however, simply twisted Deku’s body around, holding his arm tightly against his back, the awkward angle looking incredibly painful. I watched as my friend squirmed and screamed in pain, demanding the villain release him. But the look in his eyes was what caught me off guard the most, they looked distinct and half-lidded as if he was struggling to stay conscious.
“Let him go!” Wasting no more time, I threw myself into the battle, too, determined to free my friend from this villain’s wrath. Whatever he was doing to Deku, I needed to stop it now! I tried to touch him with my fingers, hoping to make him float so taking him out would be easier but he moved out of the way much quicker than I was expecting. He threw poor Deku to the side like he was a worthless ragdoll and for whatever reason, my crush was unable to catch himself as he landed hard on the paved ground, his head no doubt taking quite a bit of the fall, the impact making me cringe. I couldn’t help myself, my concern for my complain greater than my hero training as I turned and shouted, “Deku!”
And that was the only opening the villain needed as he latched on strongly to my arm.
The instant he did I felt my head grow fuzzy and everything began spinning in a nauseating circle. I was used to this feeling, thanks to my quirk, and did my best to try and pull away, but his grip was like a vice. Everything started to blur in a flash of colors and noises. I heard Deku scream my name, followed by a grunt, though I couldn’t tell if it was from him or the villain.
I knew we were running out of time to act, so I forced my brain to remember my training as I attempted a move to dislodge his hand from my arm, but thanks to my functionless mind, my movements were too sluggish and slow. I didn’t even have time to react as the man grabbed me by the hair and slammed me hard into the cement ground. My vision began to go black but just before the world faded away, I could hear Deku’s panic-filled scream call out to me, his voice slurred as he began to lose consciousness just like me.
And then there was nothing.
When I finally came to, I had a massive headache unlike anything I had ever felt before. My brain felt like it was on fire and I groaned in agony. I risked opening my eyes only to discover my uncomfortable position as this villain's hostage. I had lost track of how much time had passed since then but my guess was that it had been close to an hour or two.
I let out a slow breath to calm my racing heartbeat. I had to find a way to escape. I just had to! Before- before... well I didn't want to think about that. I had to focus on getting away at any cost. But I was unsure what to even do,I had already exhausted all the other escape attempts I could think of, the few that came to mind. Maybe Deku had an idea?
He probably did but it wasn't safe to ask him, not with the villain pacing back and forth in front of us. I looked over to said villain and noticed he wasn't paying either of us any mind. Which was nothing new, ever since we got here, this unknown villain hadn't shut up about his plans. He had rambled on and on about his goals, about how he would make the heroes pay, how it was thanks to heroes his life was ruined. I had nearly let out a sigh of annoyance the moment he started up his cliche monologue but caught myself at the last second. It felt like every villain I encountered had the same flawed view of hero society. They all wanted to see it destroyed and replaced with their own messed up world. Didn't these guys have anything better to do?
Now though, he just looked agitated, wringing his hands together nervously as he continued his incessant pacing. I could hear him mumbling something under his breath. It was clear he was becoming unstable. And that boded poorly for me and Deku. I had suspected this person was suffering from some sort of mental illness (after all what sane person would kidnap two high schoolers) and it seemed my suspicions were confirmed.
What terrified me is what he would do when the little sanity he had left snapped? What would become of me and Deku when he got bored of us?
The thought turned my blood to ice and I fought back the growing tears of defeat. If this was the end for me and Deku then...
I cast a longing look at my crush, his eyebrows furrowed and his mouth set in a flat line. There were a few new bruises on his body and I guessed he hadn’t be taken so easily like I had. He looked so unlike the Deku I knew, the one who I had seen not a few hours ago, giddy and full-of-life, and I could feel the tears nearly spilling over just looking at him. This whole ordeal must be affecting him terribly, too. I didn’t want to do this, not here and certainly not now, but I doubted I'd have another chance, so I drew in a shaky breath to try and steady my frayed nerves, gathering what little strength I had left to muster.
"Deku," I squeaked and instantly regretted that decision. Gosh my voice sounded awful, like I had been gargling nails and hadn't spoken in a year. Not to mention the noticeable shake in my tone even though I had tried so hard to fight it.
It was no surprise then that Deku whipped his head around to face me, his eyes wide and full of concern (most likely for me). When our eyes met though, I felt a small bit of warmth settle inside my cold, tired body. It wasn't enough to completely halt the despair I felt creeping into my mind but it helped to give me a little strength and hope to fight that overwhelming feeling back.
I tried to summon the courage to tell my crush my true feelings, to ignore the darkness and terror we were trapped in and create a small moment of light and love to cling to. But what I wasn't expecting was for Deku to smile at me.
He actually smiled! And I knew that smile better than anyone, I had seen it enough times to know what it meant. He was trying to provide me comfort. In this dark, hopeless situation, Deku still had the courage to smile. It was forced and shaky, his eyes full of fear and the corners of his mouth quivered with the effort of holding it together but it was there! And I was once again reminded of the true strength my friend had and by proxy how little I had in comparison. Before I had a chance to speak he whispered in a shaky but determined tone, "Don't worry, Uraraka. I promise we'll get out of here. I won't let this be the end. I swear."
I had no words with which to reply with but I could feel the tears threatening to spill over. Without thinking I buried my head in the front of his jacket and sobbed. I knew how weak it made me look, that a hero shouldn't behave this way but I couldn't help it. Deku didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve me. Even though he was scared and worried, he still had the strength to try and help me. He was a true hero and it scared me to think that he might not live to prove that to everyone.
Deku didn't say anything to me while I sobbed brokenly. He just let me work it all out of my system. He didn't even fuss over the fact I was completely drenching his limited edition All might hoodie. Instead he just leaned his head on top of my own, the only comfort he could offer with his hands tied uselessly behind him. The gesture only made me sob harder. Because gosh he was too good for me!
I probably could have stayed like that forever curled up on Deku’s chest, if my loud bawling hadn't unfortunately attracted the attention of our unnamed captor. "Hey shut up you damn brat, before I make you!" He hissed at me, the venom in his tone enough to make me choke on my tears, trying feebly to stop their flow.
While I was busy with that, Deku shot the man a glare and I felt him curl around me even more in a protective manner. He looked like he wanted to say something but he held his tongue, his attention shifting back to me as he began muttering meaningless phrases in an attempt to comfort me. It took a bit of effort but I finally managed to quiet my sobbing till it was nothing more than small whimpers.
This seemed to quell the villain (for now) as he went back to muttering to himself and I tried to take this as a small relief. I blinked a few times to clear them of tears and felt shame at the sight of my friends tear-stained hoodie, the whole front of which was soaked in my tears. Deku’s stare was burning into my skin but I kept my head lowered. I couldn't face him after my breakdown. What would he think of me? Here he was being brave and heroic while I broke down over the littlest of things.
Before the tears could start up again I forced myself to meet Deku’s eye, my heart pounding painfully in my chest. As expected, his look was one of pained sympathy and my cheeks felt like fire from the blush that spread over my face in an instant. I was the first to break eye contact, staring sheepishly at the floor. "Sorry," I whispered, trying to resist the temptation to hide in Deku’s hoodie again.
"Don't be," he replied with a small shake of his head. "I know this a lot to deal with. I don't blame you for crying." He tried to crack a smile, joking awkwardly, "Beside you've seen me cry plenty of times before."
It was true. I had seen Deku cry more times than I could count but I never saw that as a weakness. When he cried I knew he was just overcome with emotion and was expressing it freely. I respected that. That he wasn't afraid to express himself. So why was it, I felt so ashamed of doing it myself? It just made me feel weak. Like the barrier between him and me had become even wider. I didn't want him to comfort me, I wanted to be strong enough to protect him.
"How are you so calm right now?" I wondered aloud.
Deku shrugged. "I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared. Really scared," he admitted honestly. A shaky breath before he continued. "But... I have to keep smiling. I have to believe we’ll be okay. That the other heroes will save us. Cause that's what All Might would do. He'd stay strong no matter how bad the odds are."
I couldn't help but admire Deku for a moment. He really was amazing. And if he could keep believing, then I had to do the same. No matter how bad things got.
Both me and Deku jumped when our captor let out a loud, guttural howl. It sounded inhuman, filled with malice and insane energy. The sound alone was startling enough but the fact that it had happened seemingly at random put me on edge. Whatever sanity the villain had seemed to have finally shattered as he began loudly talking to himself, getting more and more agitated by the second. "They aren't coming. Why aren’t the heroes coming? They should be here. Maybe they forgot. No, no they couldn't have. They must not think I'm a threat. But I am! I need to show them, I-I need to... give them a reason to come. Yes that's it."
With that the man slowly turned towards us with a long, creepy expression stretched across his face. The little comfort me and Deku’s conversation had brought me was shattered in an instant when I saw the look in the villain’s eyes. Those were the eyes of a corned animal. The eyes of a beast pushed to its breaking point. There was danger in them and I knew at once things were about to take a very, very bad turn.
For a few tense seconds we just stared each other down, captor and captives waging a mental battle and I had no clue who was winning or losing. The air was so thick with dread I could almost feel it with each breath I took. There was no sound, only silence, but that seemed to have mesmerized the villain, like he was waiting for it to break. And I feared what would happen when that pin dropped and that silence was shattered.
Then, with no warning, the moment was broken, the villain moving towards us in a flash, a crazed look still in his eye. I flinched instinctively, closing my eyes and waiting for the pain to start. There was no doubt in my mind I would be the target of his rage since I had been the biggest nuisance to him. He would be quick to dispose of me.
But to my surprise it was Deku who cried out and my eyes snapped open in shock. The villain had a tight grip on Deku’s hair, his fingers laced painfully in his green curls, while the other hand fumbled to undo the knots around Deku’s wrists. But being Deku, he put up a resistance, squirming and making the job difficult for our unknown assailant. Meanwhile, I was forced to watch powerlessly with my own arms bonded uselessly behind my back. I shouted to the villain and kicked my feet but it did nothing to deter him.
The villain growled in frustration, giving Deku a wild shake that made my stomach twist into knots. He leaned down to hiss in his ear, but I was able to make out the chilling words, "Stop fighting or the girl takes your place instead."
I watched with horror as Deku calmed his resistance, allowing the man to finish his work still glaring daggers the whole time. No, no this was all my fault. I was being used against him! Deku, the one I loved was about to die to save me. This horrible villain had just twisted my sweet Deku’s heroic nature into something wrong and despicable.
The villain eventually loosened the ropes enough that Deku was no longer pinned in place, but his hands were still tied tightly behind him, keeping him weak and helpless. I thought I might puke as I watched the man drag my friend away by his hair. By his freaking hair! I could hear the roots tearing but Deku, to his credit, suppressed any screams through gritted teeth.
I continued to scream and thrash in my bounds, desperate to help my friend, to save the boy I loved from this nightmare. I could feel hot, sticky blood dripping from my wrists, every movement painful from where I had rubbed the skin raw struggling but still I fought. I refused to give up. Not until Deku was safe. "Let him go! Leave him alone!"
Deku didn't give up either, determination hidden behind the fog in his eyes as his body glowed green. I recognized the power of his quirk immediately, the air itself filled with electricity as he swung a leg towards the villain in his signature shoot style and I sucked in a breath, daring to hope this terror might finally end.
But Deku’s reflexes had been dulled thanks to whatever this villain's quirk was and his movement’s sloppy and formless, at least compared to the lightning fast attacks I was used to seeing from him. Our capture was able to easily snatch Deku’s leg before it made contact with his face, a new look of dark fury flashing in the man's crazed eyes.
And then he began to twist Dekus ankle, my crush struggling to hold back his pained whimpers. He moved slowly, so slowly, and oh gosh I don’t think legs can bend that way! I was gonna be sick, I wanted to look away but it was as if I was under a spell, mesmerized by the horrible display, while my brain and mouth begged and screaming for it to end. But he just kept twisting,
 ...and twisting,
 ......and twisting,
Until...
Snap!
Deku’s blood curdling scream burned itself into my subconscious and I watched with teary eyed vision as my friend writhed on the ground, his foot twisted at an awkward angle, already red and swelling. My heart ached inside my chest. It hurt so damn much to see my crush and best friend hurting so much, while I was powerless to help him. I felt sick, my stomach in knots and my blood cold. Without realizing, I had stopped struggling, I lacked the strength to even raise my arms. It felt like my heart had just shattered along with the bones in Deku’s leg.
And then, while the two of us writhed in our own agony, the villain started to laugh. Actually laughed!
And I saw red.
I was not an angry person, far from it, but that laugh, that sinisterly gleeful chuckle, made me feel for the first time ever true unyielding rage. And it scared me.
My struggles renewed stronger than ever, I didn't care if I ripped my arms off! I was stopping this! For a second I had a flicker of a thought, wondering if this was how Bakugo felt all the time.
As I fought valiantly against my bonds I watched as the villain slowly pulled open his coat and a glint of silver metal caught my eye.
My heart froze and I could see from the corner of my eye the fear in Deku’s eyes as the gun was pulled free from its holster. The man seemed amused by our fear, a cruel, wicked smile splitting open his lips revealing a layer of crooked teeth. The villain soaked in the power he held, taking his dear sweet time as he cocked the deadly weapon.
The click caused tremors through my body, the realization that all of this was actually happening hit me hard. There was a real weapon before me and right now it was loaded and ready to kill.
The barrel was soon aimed and level with Deku’s head and despite how brave and strong he was I heard a tiny whimper escape his throat.
And I lost all sense of self control.
I pulled violently against the thick ropes, blocking out the pain completely as I twisted my arms as much as I could in any attempt to get free. I didn't have time to waste, in a matter of seconds Deku would be dead. Finally I heard a loud snap behind me and I had no idea if that was the ropes or my wrists themselves, all I knew was that I was free.
I scrambled to my feet, running at the villain as fast as my sore legs could carry me. I didn't hesitate, I didn't think, I was reacting on protective instincts right now, my only goal to keep Deku alive. I slammed hard into the man's back, jabbing my elbow into the center of his spine, just like I had been taught. I knew this wouldn't be enough to knock him down, his stature was much greater than mine, so I reached out for the gun hand, my fingers just barely managing to brush skin, but that was enough for my quirk to do the job.
The shift in weight was enough to knock us both off our feet. On the way down I heard a loud bang next to my ear, causing it to ring loudly. The ground was much harder than I expected, my body skidding painfully across the rough terrain. I could feel skin being scraped off, the pain sending jolts to my stunned brain. When I came to a stop my whole body was radiating pain, I could feel every gash and bleeding cut as they throbbed in agony.
But I quickly shoved all of this to the side, focusing my attention back on my hurt friend. Deku looked shaken up, his leg still twisted at an unnatural angle but other than that was no worse for wear. I could see a tiny indention in the ground next to his head and realized the bullet must have missed him by mere inches.
But at least it did miss.
Deku’s eyes were wide in what I could only assume was shock and fear, his gaze locked on me and me alone. I had never been happier to see those green irises in my life, the relief that he was still alive and breathing far greater than anything my battered body could complain about. Deku was still alive, that was all that mattered.
He was safe and I could rest.
But just before I could collapse and sleep for a hundred years, I heard a familiar voice yell to me, the tone dark, twisted, and most of all angry. "You bitch!"
I glanced up to see a new terrible sight. The villain was still alive and he had his gun. Thanks to my quirk he was currently suspended in the air, his body doing slow turns. I must have hit him harder than I thought because he was dangling over the side of the building, a long, deadly drop waiting just below his feet.
The look in his eyes... that was the look of a killer and I knew at once I had made a terrible mistake.
"You're gonna regret that," he hissed at me, venom dripping from every syllable. He once more raised the gun and I flinched, expecting to be staring down the loaded barrel. But instead, he pointed the gun at Deku and fear clenched my chest.
"I'm gonna make you hurt," the monster said, grinning at my pain. He knew where I was vulnerable, we both could see it and one of us was too late.
I tried to stand, maybe I could shield Deku or push him out of the way somehow but my body refused. It was failing me at the worst possible second.
I saw the terror in Deku’s eyes as they jumped from the gun to me and then back to the gun.
"Your boyfriend is dead, ya hear me!"
My brain scrambled for an idea, searching tirelessly through my limited options for some way out of this mess.
But I didn't have one.
Nothing would work.
It was over.
My heart squeezed painfully in my chest as Deku tried to reason with the villain, trying to delay his death. "Please, you don't wanna do this."
I saw the man's finger slowly pressing against the trigger and I knew I was out of time.
Out of options.
Only one thing would save Deku now.
My hands moved on their own, my fingers pressing together as a strangled cry escaped my throat. "Release!"
And then the villain vanished.
Disappearing over the side of the building.
His echoed screams reached my ears, every second growing softer.
Softer.
Softer...
And then they just stopped.
The abrupt silence caught me off guard. After the rush of terror and adrenaline that had been so present a moment ago, the peaceful atmosphere that remained felt strangely out of place. A cool breeze tickled my sweaty face, blowing my hair and ripped clothes all over the place.
Was it really over?
It had all happened so fast that my brain took a moment to process it all. All I could do was stare at the spot the villain had just been, before he -before I-
My hands flew to my mouth as I choked back a sob.
No.
No I didn't.
I-I couldn't have.
That was impossible.
But I had.
I had just killed someone.
A feeling of guilt unlike anything I ever felt before hit me at once as the reality of my situation sunk in. I had just broken one of the only rules a hero had to follow. I was a murderer. My breaths had become shuddery and shaky as I fought back the tears that threatened to spill.
In a desperate attempt for comfort I looked to Deku, hoping he could somehow make this whole, nightmarish situation better. But the face I was greeted with was anything but soothing. Deku was staring at me with wide, pained eyes, his body tense as he regarded me and he flinched when I turned his way. Almost like he was afraid of me. The normally bright green of his eyes that I loved to look into had darkened greatly. I could see the judgement in his eyes, I could feel the disappointment from where I was. Deku saw me for what I had become, a killer, someone unworthy of being a hero. Someone unworthy of Deku.
I felt sick, bile rising at the back of my throat and I whimpered struggling to hold it back. But I could no longer fight off the tears, Deku's dark expression had been my breaking point. The tears flowed freely down my cheeks, burning my skin.
I sobbed pitifully, burying my face in my hands as pain and guilt racked my body. How could I do that? How would I ever be able to face my classmates again after what I had done? How could I call myself a hero?
Warm arms wrapped around my torso and I tensed in surprise, looking over with tear-stained vision to see Deku. Deku was hugging me. I had wanted that for so, so long and now I couldn't even enjoy it. I didn't deserve to enjoy it. His eyes were full of sympathy and I could see tears forming in his own vision, but that just made the pain worse.
I didn't deserve to be forgiven. Not by him, someone who was already a greater hero than I could ever hope to be.
"Its okay, Uraraka," he whispered, tightening his hold as my sobs only grew. "It's not your fault, it'll be alright."
Not my fault? Was he blind? No. Leave it to Deku to sugar coat reality, to see the light in the endless darkness. He somehow didn't believe it was my fault when it so clearly was.
"I'm so sorry," he muttered and I felt something wet drip on my shoulder.
He was apologizing. Why? I was the one who killed that guy. This was my fault, not his.
I couldn't stop crying, no matter how much I tried to silence my pitiful sobbing, I couldn't. My body and mind had taken all it could handle and it needed to feel no matter how much I wanted to suppress this.
I couldn't escape this. This feeling was my burden to bear now.
The cold wind swept over my body, chilling me to the bone. For a long time, I just sat there, weeping in Deku’s arms as he spoke soft words of comfort to me, holding me as if I might break. As if I deserved forgiveness. But I didn't. I had saved Deku from death but at the cost of my own morals.
And the part that scared me the most was that I didn't regret it.
Despite the heaviness on my heart and soul, the guilt that was seeking to crush me and pull me under, at the end of the day it didn't matter. Deku was alive. He was safe.
And nothing else mattered but that.
Part 2 coming... whenever I can finish it ^^;

ITS FUCKIN UHHHH kiribaku fic rec time
they’re all sfw i think, listed in no particular order. none of them are unfinished, most of them are mutual pining because i’m a sucker for that. if there’s angst it won’t be too heavy and if it is i’ll give a warning :)
1) 2am knows all secrets by Unbreakable_Red_Riot on AO3, 15/15 chapters, 59k words
okay if ur searching for a list of kiribaku fics it’s more than likely that you’ve read this one. it’s a classic, it’s a fave, it’s very popular BUT FOR GOOD REASON. basically bakugou suffers from nightmares, kirishima is a good bro, it develops from there
2) ‘Cause The Dark’s Not Taking Prisoners Tonight by imatrisarahtops on AO3, 10/10 chapters, 52.4k words
very similar concept to the previous one but written differently, more focus on what they do to combat the insomnia (dear god that makes it sound like it’s gonna be nsfw it’s not). quality platonic affection between kiri and kami, quality dadzawa, what more could you want? ALSO each chapter starts with a twenty one pilots lyric about sleep and as the biggest clikkie i appreciate that
3) winter doesn’t linger here by drifting_i on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 14.1k words
some sweet domestic winter kiribaku. plenty of mutual pining, staying at kiri’s for christmas, kirishima has lesbian parents, the whole shabang
4) fatal flaws by poetic_leapard on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 13.7k words
a common trope that i LOVE: mutual pining while bakugo tutors kirishima. eventual getting together, bakugo is bad at words and feelings (bless his heart), 1A has to figure out their fatal flaw (you’ll NEVER guess what kirishima’s is)
5) Ready To Climb This Mountain Inside by cherryredriots on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 5.8k words
i think this is the shortest of the list? the boys go mountain climbing, ends up with a few confessions. straight up fluff and kiribaku quality time, really nice sweet ending and read overall
6) houdini by chonideno on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 14.1k words
another fairly popular one but GOD i love it. a late night in the dorms leads to kaminari suggesting a game of spin the bottle seven minutes in heaven - guess which pair it lands on! it’s basically fourteen thousand words of the boys making out but it stays completely sfw, if you were worried
7) Love Notes by PurplePersnickity on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 5.5k words
a short but cute story of bakugo Not being able to communicate like a regular human so instead leaves a series of anonymous notes for kiri to find. sliiighhttllyy ooc bakugou if you squint, only putting that there because i know some people have a problem with ooc :)
8) ‘cause i love you for infinity by multi class maps on AO3, 9/9 chapters, 23.2k words
ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE ALL TIME FAVES FROM ANY FANDOM. criminally underrated. no quirks au, demon (but not technically demon more like spirit) bakugo au, reincarnation au. an absolutely beautiful fic. features tokoyami and yaoyorozu as central characters, which is rare. slight angst with a happy ending, mentions of death but nothing graphic
9) Tonight, We’re the Sea by idratherhaveyou on AO3, 11/11 chapters, 60.7k words
pretty popular fic but omg do i love it. no quirks au. kirishima’s grandmother has a bad fall so he moves to a quiet seaside town to take care of her where he makes friends with ashido and kaminari and falls in love with the artist bakugo, who’s studying under the famous artist Yagi Toshiniri. i LOVE kiri’s grandmother in this. slowburn, pining, hurt/comfort, angst if you squint.
10) The Beauty of a Beast by starofjems on AO3, 15/15 chapters, 101.6k words
okay i’m not usually the biggest fan of fantasy aus but FUCK this is the exception, i’m so in love with this fic. beauty and the beast au, kirishima is the prince cursed by a witch that wanted to punish his father for his selfishness. bakugou is a kingdom-renowned monster hunter who hears about this apparently vicious beast. no quirks but still powers, both bakugo and kirishima need true love to break their curses. fairy mina, wizard kaminari, knights uraraka, midoriya and iida, dragon tetsutetsu, prince todoroki, monoma and kendou are in it too but i can’t remember what they are off the top of my head - guess you’ll have to read and find out!
11) heart stains on the carpet by cityboys on AO3, 4/4 chapters, 25.9k words
a lovely fake dating turns real dating fic. no quirks au. bakugou is a chemistry student working on nitroglycerin based products that someone is trying to steal and weaponise. kirishima is assigned to be bakugou’s bodyguard and has to be by his side 24/7, including moving in. technically college au, platonic kacchako, a really good read
12) the fool’s rush by chonideno on AO3, 4/4 chapters, 40.7k words
same writer as number six on this list! i ADORE the vibes of this fic, it’s lovely. after UA, fresh on the scene pro heroes kirishima and bakugou get an apartment together and try and work around the unresolved feelings between them. slowburn, fluff, mutual pining, a LOT of hurt/comfort because i love it. mentions of blood/wounds and mentions of alcohol.
13) neon season by chonideno on AO3, 1/1 chapters, 26.3k words
another chonideno fic! the vibe of this fic is just gorgeous. kiribaku road trip fic. the boys share a car, food, hotel rooms, beds, and each other. mutual pining, denial of feelings, happy ending. there’s also implied sexual content but nothing major. this is probably the most angst-heavy of the list because of miscommunication and general dumbassery but it has a happy ending.
14) quote love unquote by newamsterdam on AO3, 28/28 chapters, 135.7k words
this is a LOONGG one so buckle yourself in. fake dating turned real dating trope again. celebrity au where bakugo (among other bnha characters) is a famous actor and kirishima is in a small rock band and has been a long time fan (as well as having an intense crush) of bakugo for years. when kirishima bumps into bakugou at a party, the press take pictures and rumours about the two of them spiral, kicking kirishima’s band into the spotlight and helping them reach new levels of fame - with one exception. bakugou’s manager sero hanta insists that they fake a relationship for the press, and we all know where that’s bound to lead.
15) This Song is Dumb (And So Am I) by notoraeous on AO3, 6/6 chapters, 50.1k words
lord okay i haven’t read this one in a while and it’s very late night let’s see what i can remember for the summary. kirishima and bakugo and kaminari move in together after graduation, kami moves out for his career. unrequited but not really unrequited love, kirishima almost gets married to a woman, UNBELIEVABLY jealous bakugou. this is actually fairly angst-heavy, but i promise there’s a happy ending. i only cried a few times, promise
16) Roses are red and they taste like shit by Unbreakable_Red_Riot on AO3, 6/6 chapters, 47.8k words
a GORGEOUS hanahaki au. if you’re not familiar, hanahaki (literally translates to like “to cough up flowers) is a fictional disease often used in fanfiction where the sufferer painfully coughs up flower petals when they think they have an unrequited love. bakugou starts coughing up petals and it only gets more intense. kinda angsty, happy ending. tw for mentions of improper use of medications, depression-like symptoms, obviously several descriptions of throwing up
aaand that concludes my list for now!! there’s definitely ones i’ve missed off that i must’ve forgotten to bookmark so i’ll likely be adding to this over time or maybe posting an updated version. i hope you enjoy!!

OH MY GOD! i wrote this thing back in like, last february and never posted it. so. here have the bnha characters in the good place au!
featuring ochako as eleanor, iida as chidi, kirishima as jason, bakugo as tahani, and deku as a whole host of things including kamilah and janet XD
relationships include: past tsuchako
this is disjointed and rambly but there’s some good stuff so i hope you enjoy it
ochako uraraka dies. then, she wakes up in an office building starring at “everything is fine!” in glaring, yellow letters. some weird old white man in a suit with a polka dotted die explains things to her. you know, how she died. how it was unpleasant and embarrassing. but now she’s in the afterlife, apparently, and things are hunky dory. this is the good place.
there was backstory before this happened, of course. in order to die, someone had to live.
before ochako was dead, she was alive. she was a little girl who wanted to grow up to become a hero to support her parents, but they tell her that she should be a hero to help other people, not them.
they die in a tragic car incident, ochako gets shuffled through the foster system, and grabs tightly onto that idea of becoming a hero to make her parents proud and be able to support herself and give herself a good life.
in american society, people cannot get provisional hero licenses until they graduate from high school and they cannot become licensed heroes until completing a bachelors degree. kids who can get provisional licenses right out of high school are much preferred for hero courses at colleges, and it’s nearly impossible to get a provisional license right out of high school unless you were able to attend a specialized hero prep school.
ochako is a foster kid in arizona. ofc she can’t afford prep school, does not get a provisional license, and cannot make it into a hero course. she studies her ass off for the next year, taking a gap year, and she’s able to pass the entrance exams and agrees to sign away her soul in student loans. but the program so heavily favors kids that had prep school experience and already had their provisional licenses. while working and trying to put herself through school, she just can’t keep up with the rigorous schedule and the bias against her.
ochako drops out of the hero program after a year of failing to stay afloat, and she just wants a god damn stable job. so, she goes into sales. not exactly sales that are on the up and up either. think. selling fake drugs to old people.
she gets into a relationship with tsuyu asui and they bond over failed attempts at hero careers. tsuyu decided to go into counseling instead and is still trying to make her best effort to be A Good Person TM and ochako gives it a try for awhile, but it starts making her feel inadequate pretty quickly and she gets defensive.
tsuyu psycho-analyzes ochako more than ochako’s ready to deal with and easily figures out her issues and tries to like, solve them. ew, and ochako ends the relationship and falls back into her selling fake drugs to old people ways before dying in a blaze of shopping cart related glory. it was apparently, hilarious, because after the shopping carts hit her she subconsciously used her quirk to send them up in a shopping cart mushroom cloud. which crushed her again.
yeah ochako’s really glad that she can’t remember any of that.
“so,” michael the architect says, “would you like to meet your soulmate?” she’s had a lot of casual flings and hookups, but never anything serious other than tsuyu. so. yeah she’s pretty interested in meeting her soulmate.
he’s kind of hot, in a nerdy as shirt way.
“this is your soulmate, iida tenya.”
“is that first name first or first name last?” ochako asks. she’s japanese american and knows enough japanese to be able to puzzle out that his name IS japanese, but she can’t for the life of her tell what order that’s in.
“she’s american,” michael says.
“ah,” he says, “then i’m tenya iida.”
he gives her a little rundown of his life, and apparently, the life of a moral philosophy professor is actually... pretty intense. at least it is when you started off life wanting to be a pro hero.
“you mean you almost killed the hero killer?” admittedly, ochako doesn’t pay all that much attention to world events, but the hero killer fiasco was sort of a big deal. a serial killer only targeting professional heroes? and for reasons he thought were completely justified? that was the biggest news story for at least a week, even in america.
“he paralyzed my brother,” tenya says, “i’d never been so angry before in my life. i truly think that if he hadn’t beaten me, i would have.”
“wow,” ochako says, “that’s dark.” tenya nods.
“i was lucky my friends pulled me out of it.” he talks about his friends saving him, friends that apparently include PRO HERO DEKU. which, like, ochako’s not that invested in the japanese hero scene, but everyone knows about pro hero deku.
the dude worked his way onto the hero scene with a quirk that hurt him whenever he used it, took over all might’s position, and admitted to being quirkless until he was fifteen. he used almost all of the immense amount of money that he made as a hero building up his own charities, doing work for community organizations, and trying to support disabled and quirkless organizations around his country. he’s the kiss babies save people then go home and continue doing favors for people when he gets there type.
deku was a good guy. like, a REALLY good one. he was one of the most famous heroes in the entire world when ochako died, and she’s pretty sure that he was going to take the number one spot from that explosive asshole any day. hell, he was even always NICE to the guy, acted like they were friends even though the explosive shitstick always treated him like dirt.
ochako might have had a little bit of a hero worship crush on the guy, okay. it’s not that big of a deal.
“so then how did you become a professor of moral philosophy? sounds like you had a good gig going at that hero school of yours.” U.A. is the best known hero high school in the entire world. she’d sort of dreamt of going to U.A. herself as a kid.
“i realized that morality is... a lot more complicated than i thought it was before. i made a rash decision and it almost cost me my soul. hero work is complicated and muddy and i didn’t want to be left running around in circles doing it, never knowing what was right. instead i dedicated my life to studying what’s right. now i always try to make the most ethical possible decision. at all times.”
“that sounds forking exhausting,” ochako says. tenya looks shocked.
“forking. FORKING,” ochako glares, “you know i don’t mean forking right?”
“yes,” he says, “i do. the good place does not let you curse. many of us do not like it.” well. that’s good to know that he looks like a nerd and he IS one.
“well i forking do dumbash,” she says, “do you think that’s going to darn me to heck?”
“dark impulses aren’t what make people good or bad,” tenya says, “acting on them does.”
tenya iida, ochako soon realizes, talks a big game for someone who can’t decide on a flavor of yogurt because of the possible ethical ramifications.
kirishima opens his eyes and sees a smiling, old white man. that’s generally not a good sign. normally smiling white people are either attorneys or librarians who are about to scold him for falling asleep on the library couch again.
“you, jianyu li, are dead.” kirishima almost says “dope” but then he realizes that it is not, in fact dope. the guy asks if he wants to not talk because of some taiwanese monk thing, and seeing that kirishima is most definitely NOT a taiwanese monk he decides to go with it and not give anything away.
he goes a couple of weeks before he finally talks to the girl with the big eyes and the auburn hair who wasn’t supposed to here in the good place either.
“oh god,” she says, “please tell me that you’re smart enough to get us out of this. please”
“um, maybe? i’m from florida”
her eyes widen and she whispers “no”
“my name’s kirishima,” he tells her, “or some of my boys call me ‘ro. it’s short for eijiro. no biggie tho.”
“we are so forked,” ochako says.
he’s american dawg. if you really get into, japanese american, but he’s not taiwanese. that’s probably racist. weird, racist algorithm
“you, bakugo katsuki, are dead”
“dead?”
“yes, dead.”
“i forking died?” bakugo demands.
“yes, but you were the number one pro hero at the time of your death and now you’re in the good place. i think you can think of that as a victory.” well, that does make him feel a little better. at least deku never succeeded him in the rankings, even if he’s number one hero now.
“forking,” he says, glaring at the air, “forking! you know i don’t forking mean forking, right?”
“i’m aware,” michael says.
michael goes onto explain all the rules of the good place, including the not a robot not a boy assistant that can cater to their every whim. an assistant who just so happens to look exactly like someone bakugo would prefer to never see again.
“FORK!” bakugo screams.
“i am deku,” he says, smiling and tilting his head like a curious owl, “how can i help you?”
“wait,” ochako says, eyes widening with glee, “he looks just like deku.”
“uraraka!” bakugo shouts. ochako shrugs.
“if you had a sex robot of your celebrity crush are you saying you wouldn’t go to town? come on, ground zero. i’m only human.” bakugo looks horrified.
“not a sex robot.”
“but are you a robot not for sex?” she asks.
“not a robot,” he chirps, “also i am sentient but do not consent to sex with you.”
“oh,” ochako says.
“that’s called rape, and you know where rapists go?”
not a sex robot smiles as he chirps, “the bad place!” ochako shudders.
“uh,” she asks, “what exactly... happens in the bad place?” deku opens his mouth and the screams of a thousand tortured souls come out.
“that is what happens in the bad place,” he says, “but you do not need to worry about that. the good place’s algorithm put you here.” ochako giggles nervously.
“IT SURE DID”
“i can’t get away from forking deku,” bakugo says, “even in heaven.” deku smiles at him.
“actually, you can get away from the original, pro hero deku. i am only a source of all the knowledge in the universe.” not-deku smiles widely but it doesn’t reach his eyes. it’s damn creepy.
“why the fork do you look like him?”
“they chose pro hero deku because he’s the most popular figure currently on earth. they thought this face would set the residents at ease.”
“well it forking doesn’t,” bakugo says.
“i am sorry that you feel that way. is there anyway that i can help you?” not-deku asks.
“change!” bakugo demands, grabbing not-deku roughly by the arms.
“i cannot do that,” not-deku says, “now that i’ve been programmed with this face, i am stuck with it. it literally will not come off.” then he grins again.
“fork you,” bakugo says. deku just smiles again. if he thought that the thing had feelings he’d be sure it was trying to piss him off.
bakugo slams his palm into his face.
“my soulmate is a forking idiot,” he says.
“you just figured that out?” ochako asks, snorting.
“holy motherforking shirtballs,” ochako says, “we’re in the bad place.”
“that can’t be true,” bakugo says, “i wouldn’t go to the bad place.” he was a pro hero. despite his flaws, he did a lot of good.
“you think that you belonged in the good place?” michael says, and he laughs so hard he almost cries, “you- bakugo katsuki? you were just a hero so that you could be the best at something and try to pound deku into the ground. you never even used your platform to try to help people. it was never about helping people. it was always about your ego and your need to destroy deku.” bakugo feels an uneasiness in his stomach as he realizes that michael is right. he doesn’t deserve to go to the good place. he was always a shitty person.
“what about me? what did i do to deserve to be here?” iida asks. then a horrified realization shows on his face.
“oh no,” iida says, “the almond milk.” michael glares at him.
“it wasn’t the almond milk, iida. it was everything you ever did after you tried to kill the herokiller. you made a mistake, and then you over-corrected in the worst possible way. you went from trying to help people to doing nothing but thinking about your own ego-centric view of morality. you could never make a decision, and that hurt the people around you.”
michael snaps his fingers and the world goes white.
“doug forcette? melissa shield? midoriya izuku?” shaun laughs, “you think any of them are going to the good place?” shaun laughs and laughs as they send him through the portal back to the bad place.
“you all stay here,” michael orders.
“don’t poof anything,” not-deku orders, “my void feels weird with all these people in here.”
“what do you mean? deku’s not going to the good place?”
“oh no,” the accountant says, “there’s a negative 10,000 point value for becoming a pro hero. deku’s doing well, all things considering, but he can’t overcome that handicap.”
“what about all might?”
“oh he’s in the bad place,” the accountant says, like saying that the symbol of peace is burning in hell is just a normal bit of trivia.
“not even ALL MIGHT went to the good place?” michael asks, his eyes widening.
“oh no no no,” the accountant says, “pro heroes are too messy and selfish. for every good action that they take, they cause so much harm. their wealth is a drain on society. even the most virtuous end up doing more harm than good.”
“there were some bets going around that bakugo katsuki might surpass endeavor’s record for highest negative score a pro hero ever racked up, but he died too quickly. it was a real shame.”
“tsuyu asui?” michael asks. from ochako’s memories of the woman, she seems like a fine specimen of humanity.
“no,” the accountant says, “therapists often end up messing up more than they fix.”
“well, is midoriya inko headed for the good place?”
“no,” the accountant says, “motherhood is messy business, michael.”
“malala yousafzai?”
“activism is even messier.”
“how many people got into the good place this year?”
“none”
“last year?”
“none?”
“ten years ago”
“none.”
“when was the last time that anyone went to the good place?” michael asks, his voice rising in fear. the accountant does some typing, some searching. then he comes up with his answer.
“571 years ago,” the accountant says blithely.
“oh shirt,” michael says.
“do you want to save people or not?” bakugo demands.
“of course i do, kacchan,” deku says, “that’s what i’ve always wanted.”
DON’T REMEMBER WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THAT ENDING BUT HERE YOU GO

Second Base
Summary: How will Shouto help Momo with her problem? How will the class react to this?
--------------
Getting out of bed that Monday morning was tough even for Momo who is a diligent student leader. She let her alarm snooze for 10 more minutes before finally climbing out of bed. As she walked in the bathroom, she let out a deep sigh as she remembered Aizawa-sensei giving them a heads up last week that he has amped their training program a notch higher. The familiar ache in her abdomen begged her to spend the day curled up in bed but she knew villains would never wait for her to feel okay before striking. Service above self. That thought spurred her to start her day and she started preparing for school.
After their intensive sparring session with tough robots, Momo is somehow relieved that the next period will be for academics. Finally, some much needed breather. She is exhausted from the training, and getting her monthly period at this time of the month is definitely not helping. Her menstrual cramps can sometimes get out of hand. She lost her concentration easily. She wasn’t able to move as agile as she wanted to during the training. It was frustrating because she could not move the way she wanted to. Too much and sudden movements radiate pain from her center to every nerve ending in her body. She sometimes was distracted by the pain which slowed her reaction time that the robot nearly hit her had she not perform an awkward dodge. That could’ve caused her minus points from Aizawa-sense’s class. She is also worried that her performance will take a negative toll on her grades, which in turn will make a dip in her overall class ranking. This might affect the Hero Agency that will take her in when she starts a career internship. Okay, so her train of thought has now taken a dark turn. She stopped herself from overthinking things.
She wiggled out of her hero costume, which felt like second skin and changed into her school uniform. The pain is quickly becoming unbearable. ‘Hang in there Momo. This is the last period and then we can get the much needed rest’, she encouraged herself. She is grateful for the warmth the uniform afforded her. Really, all she wanted to do right now is sleep. When she got back into to the classroom most of her classmates are already there chatting with each other while waiting for the next subject teacher.
She settled into her seat but the cramping in her lower abdomen won’t go away. If anything, the pain intensified from the strenuous activity earlier. She wished she knew how to create pain relievers which would really be handy on the spot when the time comes she becomes a pro-hero especially in rescue efforts. For now, she’s good at creating impromptu weapons used for fighting off villains. She made a mental note to study the structures of pain reliever medicines, hot pack and ice bags later plus the legalities of producing analgesic drugs. Besides, her quirk is restricted only to creating things that are not the elemental water, fire, air and earth. She could create hose to transport water, lighters to make fire, fan to generate wind but not the basic elements. If only she can create hot water bag and ask Todoroki to heat water with his quirk, that would be great. Just imagining the heat soothing and untying the knots in her abdomen made Momo crave for something to at least alleviate her lady woes.
She sighed. Then a voice from her right said “Are you alright? You look pale.” She looked up and saw Todoroki studying her intently. ‘His multi-colored eyes seem to search inside me.’
“My stomach hurt a bit from the intensive training earlier. Thanks for asking.” She replied. She kept on rubbing her lower tummy to relieve some pain. ‘I can never get really used to those eyes. They transport me to exciting places just staring at those mesmerizing eyes.’
Iida being the responsible class representative announced that their teacher for the next subject would be late for a little bit because of an emergency meeting of teachers. He added that they had better make use of the time wisely by studying on their own until sensei gets back from the meeting.
She barely heard what Iida said. After all, the blue in Todoroki’s eyes gave her a glimpse of the ocean where the sound of waves gently lapping at the shore and the sound of seabirds gently flying by made her really want to close her eyes and sleep. She really wished she could curl down on her own bed and rest.
She did not realize she is openly gawking at his face until Todoroki cleared his throat. “I’ll come a little closer and if you allow me, I’ll gently warm up my hand to at least relieve some of your pain.”
That snapped her out of her reverie. She looked at him puzzled.
Todoroki brought his hands to his neck. “I saw your fight today and you didn’t seem to be in the best shape fighting off those robots. I mean you still did well but I think that’s not your usual style,” said Todoroki. “Besides, Fuyumi has the same condition as you do once in a while.” Todoroki replied while rubbing his neck. “She sometimes uses hot compress to relieve the pain. Unfortunately we don’t have that right now so if you don’t mind, I can use my quirk to warm up my hand and help you ease off the discomfort.”
Todoroki is a friend and she trusts him. He gave her encouragement when she needed it. Now, he observed her fight and noted her physical discomfort. ‘Wait, was he looking at me when I’m not looking? No, he probably just randomly saw how I screwed up today. Oh Kami-sama, why did it have to be today?’ She mentally face-palmed.
After pondering a teeny, tiny bit of a minute, she nodded. Better this than passing out. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt Todoroki’s large, warm hand rest and place a bit of pressure on her tummy. The warmth shoot out electrifying effects on her body, are those butterflies now on her stomach? Her cramps gently unknotted and she felt the pain subside significantly. For a good 10 minutes, she just sat there with both of her eyes closed. She is savouring the comfort of the warmth Todoroki’s hand gave her stomach. Why is her head not falling off from her position? She opened an eye and saw Todoroki reading a book with his other hand while his other hand is gently pressing on her tummy. What’s more embarrassing is that she had the audacity to even place her head on his shoulders. Here he was being a Good Samaritan and she was taking full advantage of his kindness. She felt her entire face burn with embarrassment.
She also noticed that after Iida said the announcement that All Might will be running late, she still could hear a buzz of background noise. After several minutes, the noise died down, not even the sound of pages turning or a chair scraping the floor can be heard. The silence that enveloped the room seemed unnatural, unless All Might is already there. However, she did not hear him make his presence known. What could be the reason why her classmates are as still as a stone? Curiosity got the better of her, she gingerly lifted her head, which was conveniently resting on Todoroki’s shoulder and saw that many heads were turned 180 degrees from the front of the room towards the back of the class where they were seated. All eyes were trained on her and Todoroki. Several pair of eyes locked on their somehow intimate position. Especially their seats have gotten so close. Plus Todoroki’s hand is on her body. ‘So that’s why the class was quiet. They must be jumping to weird conclusions’, she thought
Uraraka’s eyes turned as big as saucers. Hagakure had been taking their pictures. Mina is having a field day. Jirou gave out a knowing smirk. Kirishima wore a goofy smile while Kaminari had his mouth shaped like the letter O.
Momo inwardly groaned, how could she possibly explain that Todoroki is only helping her out?
Todoroki was completely oblivious of the commotion (or the lack thereof) the whole time. He noticed the absence of the pressure and warmth on his shoulder, he laid down the book he was reading and finally looked at what’s happening around him.
Sero was the first to break the silence, “Way to go man!” sending a salute in Todoroki’s direction.
Mineta’s nose is bleeding yet he still managed to croak out, “Todoroki, how could you do that in class? Give me some tips will you?” In response, Mezou smacked him in the head for such an offhanded comment.
Kaminari even said, “Wow, Todoroki you’ve gone second base!” It’s Jirou’s turn to smack Denki.
Aoyama with his dazzling countenance smugly told Tsu, “I told you they had something going on between them”.
And dear Mina who was having a field day casually announced, “It’s official, presenting our power couple Todoroki and Yaomomo.” And she proceeded to demand pay ups from the Baku Squad, apparently winning her bet that Momo and Shouto are a couple.
Uraraka added, “As expected of the recommended students!”
Midoriya began mumbling about the future of the future offspring of Creati and Shouto what with the combined powerful quirks of their parents, which could potentially land them the title of Number One Pro-Hero. This earned him a glare and glower from Bakugo.
‘Just what happened!? And what was the class even thinking!’ Deep inside, Momo is panicking. ‘What will Todoroki think of this? Of me? Aaahhh’ Everyone started speaking all at once. Some of their classmates are clapping and throwing them makeshift confetti from torn review papers.
Feeling awkward, Momo gently pried Todoroki’s hands off her abdomen. “I feel a lot better, thank you for your help. This is enough, let’s not give them something more to think about.” She hoped he did not notice the blush slowly spreading on her cheeks. She noticed how warm Todoroki’s hands were, and she wished it had not ended too soon. Nevertheless, her classmates are now spreading the news like wildfire so she at least has to minimize their false assumptions about her and Todoroki. ‘He might not like it at all.’
At this, Todoroki surprised her. “I’m not really bothered by what they think. If it’s you I’m helping, I don’t mind doing it again. I’m really impressed by how you handled your fight earlier when you were in such pain.”
Now her cheeks are definitely on fire. It really helps to sit down when Todoroki dishes out unexpected surprises like this especially behind that stony façade. That way she wouldn’t be overwhelmed with mixed feelings. It also helps when the crashing sense of realization sinks in, that after her heart did somersaults and backflips when it settled on her rib cage, her usual heartbeat of lub, dub, lub, dub was now replaced with Sho, To, Sho, To.
Thankfully, All Might entered the room and ordered everyone to pay attention to his lecture. This is going to be a long day. Momo knew that once at the dorm, she is going to have to do a lot of explaining to the girls and setting matters straight before they spiral out of control. She knows it’s going to be tough when she herself had just come into terms with her feelings for Todoroki.
‘But I wonder what did Kaminari mean earlier when he said Todoroki is at second base?’

I can see the resemblance.
Uraraka had seen and heard a lot of things along her training and career as a hero. Clothes getting ripped apart in more than one inconvenient spot. Dealing with random hits of crazy quirks that made you speak only the truth, be turned into an animal or become the opposite sex, normal stuff. Also her classmates' more than unique ways of proposing either after dealing with the kidnapping of several people including their boyfriend or after a building almost fell down on them. Yeah this guys seemed to need near death experiences to pull the ring out.
She especially remembered the worst moments in which a comment to out-of-place, mostly by too enthusiastic fans, made her want to float out of the atmosphere.
She was still slightly creeped out by that time a girl had asked Froppy to marry her.
Today hadn't seemed one of those days, the villains had been successfully captured after their leader was sent flying against an abandoned building and promptly knocked out. But that also brought down most of said building so now it was time for damage control. While she juggled with bent metal and ridiculously big slabs of concrete, sidekicks were being checked by paramedics; the police was busy keeping curious onlookers out of the area.
She gave a silent wave to Shouto, sorry Freezer-burn, who waited patiently for his husband to finish his own check up. Uraraka held back a chuckle as the freckled man furiously tapped on his phone as a young doctor looked him over, flashing a quick smile with every answer he gave. She felt bad for the poor pal trying to remain calm in front of "hero Deku", he was totally oblivious of the effect he had on people after all.
Suddenly the latter's face shifted into something between surprise and....a great need to cry? She wasn't sure, all she knew is something on the hero phone had caused him to slam it down to the ground, special phone case of course, and hold his hands against his mouth in a silent scream. The doctor was freaking out too now great.
" What just happened ? " She asked Shouto in utter confusion for her friend was still in shock, he just shrugged as he retrieved the phone from the ground and dusted it off.
" Izuku ?" He said shaking his husband softly which seemed to finally snap him out of the stupor. " Did something happen ? "
" W-What? Oh! No no not at all why would you say that everything is totally fine, I'm fine as well as you so everything is just dandy. " Replied Izuku rubbing his neck nervously and a slight tint of color coming to his cheeks. " Just...something my mom sent me that's all." He mumbled taking the phone and unlocking the screen .Uraraka tilted her head in confusion as she peered over Shouto's side, damned height difference, at the gallery.
..........
...........
...............
Uraraka now understood why Izuku had gone through mental combustion moments ago. There were several pictures of his three-year old twins wearing class 3-A's hero merch. She gave a quite uncharacteristic squeal as the next picture was of Haruki wearing a Uravity onesie holding himself up against the mirror, his messy mint green curls stuck out awkwardly from the hoodie almost blocking his view but still wore a big smile.
"Ilovehimsomuch." she gasped almost making her self float as she clasped her hands together.
Shouto chucked softly as he went through the different pictures, hanging on long enough at one of the children wearing their own hero merch. Sayuri holding tightly a green and black cap too big for her head while Haruki beamed at the camera in symmetrical red and white shirt.
" Oh look Bakugo would love this one." Laughed Izuku pulling out a video and pressing play."Best impresion I have ever seen."
The red and white-haired girl was standing on the sofa with a pillow held high over her head as she hovered over he oblivious brother. Uraraka noticed her hair pulled back by a black and orange hair band that matched her shirt.
" Die!" She cried striking Haruki from behind, who in return tackled her into a pile of clothes on the ground. Before the video got cut off Inko could be heard in the background pleading whoever was behind the camera to stop filming, along with a laugh from a third person.
"Should I be concerned ?" murmured the odd eyed man nevertheless smiling softly. Most people assumed the little girl would resemble Shouto the most, having already the bi-colored hair and mismatched eyes but he would insist she had more of Izuku including being an utter fangirl that could easily cry during the news.
"Nah she's fine." chuckled Uraraka shuffling through the pictures on her own as Shouto chided his husband for believing for a second that leaving the twins with Katsuki Bakugo had been a good idea.
"DEKUISTHISREALLYYOU???" She suddenly cried startling the pair as she shoved the screen under their noses. Shouto just glanced back and forth from the phone to his husband, who was currently groaning and hiding his face behind his gauntlets. There were actually four pictures, the first two focused on a little boy wearing different All Might onesies and the next of the twins wearing the exact same clothes.
"No wonder they're such dorks you were just like that even as baby!" she gushed at her friend, quickly sending herself all the photos, perfect blackmail material. "I need this framed on my wall."
"Make that two frames." teased Shouto leaning against Deku. " I need a new one for my office. "
"Please stop. "whined the freckled hero. "How did they even find those things ??"
° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° ° °
- Hours before the photos were taken-
There was suddenly a loud crash and a pair of sobs soon that made Inko drop the kettle, thank god it was empty, she had been holding and rush to the room were the sound came from.
On the floor she found her two grandchildren sobbing like it was the end of the world surrounded by boxes and their spilled content.
" I'm sorry" sniffled the little girl, pressing her head against Inko's chest once she had calmed down. Turns out the pair had gone exploring and gone into Izuku's room. There they had found many boxes of different sizes stacked inside a closet, at the very top one labeled "toys". Inko wasn't sure how it even happened but they had managed to reach the top and in the process brought down the whole cardboard pyramid.
Now she had two teary grandkids clinging to All Might actions figures, many notebooks scattered on the ground along with plain white t-shirts and some yearbooks.
" Its alright sweetheart, the good thing is that neither of you got hurt. " She murmured carding her hair through her unruly hair. " Why don't you and your brother go play while I clean this up ?"
" W-We can help you clean up gamma!!" Piped Haruki pulling on her cardigan with one hand, the other secured on a bunch of notebooks and a toy. He hadn't managed to said gramma at the very first try so now she was a letter of the Greek alphabet.
Inko chuckled softly and nodded in reply. " I can tell you two about your dad when he was just your age while we're at it. I bet there are some albums around here."
Both children cheered loudly, they loved hearing about their parents shenanigans.
She hadn't expected to find Izuku's baby clothes to be in that mess or that both children had the urge to try them on.
Lunch was quickly forgotten as Inko was pulled to the nearest store to look for kid sized hero merchandise, having previously called in reinforcements.

MHA Season 2 Wrap Up
First, for my wrap up specifically about the stain arc go here. If you have any interest in my thoughts specific to that arc, there you go. Lol. It will get mentions, but I’m not intending to reiterate anything that I covered more in-depth there because it seems silly.
Second, I’m sorry but this thing is huge. In the future I may break up character discussion and possible theories into a separate post. Is that a thing you guys would prefer? Or do you like the whole wrap in one?
Now. Holy... wow. A lot happened in season 2, and the arcs felt like distinct arcs. By that I mean... like um. In season one everything felt like a natural progression, from one to the next - meet all might, train with all might, get into school, school classes. I know it’s technically broken into “arcs” but it didn’t feel like it, really.
In season 2 each arc is extremely distinct, though of course they are tied together so they don’t feel disjointed. We start with the sports festival, which ends hinting at the stain arc, then we flow into the stain arc, and then, almost anticlimactically, we come back to school and do our final exams because this is a school, remember? And all the chaos that has happened over the semester doesn’t change that.
So, generally, I’ve got to say the extra episodes did this season a load of good. The extra screen time did wonders for allowing a little more exploration with all the characters. Some are still way less fleshed out than others, but almost none of them are just floating question marks. ... At least not out of the 1-A members.
This is super pleasing because it was one of my biggest frustrations out of season 1 - because we spent so much time gearing up for UA that we didn’t really get to explore much of the class that was suddenly tossed in front of us. And because class time was limited, obviously, by screen time, we got a somewhat limited view of who was who and who did what. Personalities were very vague at best and while I had impressions for several characters I didn’t... feel much for any of them, outside of a select few I already knew something about either because they were important (Midoriya, Bakugo) or because I had pieces of the puzzle handed to me in the form of spoilers (Kirishima, Todoroki, Momo/Jiru).
Things went better this season in terms of giving us information about everyone, at least in a limited form, and thus in endearing more of the cast to me.
Sports Festival Arc
Okay, so. First arc of the season. It gave me all the information about Todoroki I could have asked for - even though I guessed at least 80% of it with the pieces of the puzzle I’d already been handed and my parallels to prince Zuko. Despite that it was a wild ride. I enjoyed the arc in a way I don’t enjoy most tournament arcs.
Biggest negative, in a sense for me was that the fight I was most looking forward to - and, imo was the most hyped up - was in round two of the event (Todoroki vs Deku) and... to me at least everything after it fell flat. None of the fights after Todoroki and Deku made any real impression on me. Even the final battle between Shoto and Bakugo was comparatively uninteresting. I know that was important, I do. I know why Shoto “stepped back” so to speak, I get that he had something to figure out for himself before he could really keep charging forward there.
... But the fight was dull and it had very little weight for me. I’m quite sure that that’s an unpopular opinion, but here we are.
The tournament set up a lot of important things and it opened a lot of doors, so to speak. Which does redeem the anticlimactic final battle, if only because it wasn’t “just” a tournament, important things happened there too.
Stain Arc
One of the biggest events of our protagonist’s careers so far, quietly skated over by the media and the glory given to someone else. Other than Stain’s ideology blowing open the doors for the Villains to explode into action, we get a lot of growth for Izuku, Shoto, and Iida. We also got some significant growth for Uraraka as far as combat goes.
We get our first look at the real villain that Midoriya is eventually going to have to face, and some important exposition about how One for All came to be. We also got to see a ton of other pro heroes in action which was a lot of fun.
Final Exams
You know after Stain, this arc was a nice lowering of the adrenaline. I know I called it anticlimactic up there - because it was, in a sense - but it was also rather important for it to be. First, it reminds us that our main characters are still in school and they’re still learning. And second it highlights the fact that life doesn’t stop no matter how disastrous the world seems to become.
Still, it was in no way boring and the exam itself was a nice reminder that our characters have a long way to go before they’re ready.
The BakuDeku fight was my third favorite thing this season. (Stain fight in first, Tododeku fight in second). I was so pumped to see those two have to work together for something and they DID IT. Not well, especially not at first, but they were able to put aside their differences and in the end did succeed against All Might.
And then, of course, the end of the season gave us what to expect next time (hey we’ve got training in the woods for a week coming up) and also gave us the current stance of the Villains - All for One being pleased at Tomura’s finally gaining a firm resolve to destroy All Might. It was a good place to end the season all in all.
Again, not going to do every character by any means, just going to touch on a few. More than I did last time though because I have things to say.
Yaoyorozu Momo
So I was surprised to see her lose so much confidence in herself after the Sports Arc - but then again she got in on recommendation not by her own actual talent. She didn’t earn a score, she didn’t have to fight nearly as hard. Momo is... that character who’s used to her family name getting her everything and coming to UA she’s realizing that not only is it not that simple in the real world, she doesn’t want it to be, because she wants to do it herself.
But she’s not used to failing. She doesn’t seem to be used to other people showing her up, so to speak, and apparently losing to Tokoyami really shook her up.
I’m glad the exam with Todoroki did her some good in getting her feet back under her and I hope we get to keep seeing more of her because she actually seems to be a fun character.
Todoroki Shoto
Todoroki is our other character that is the character who’s used to getting by on his family’s name alone. ... Except dialed over into the Family Issues troupe and so he doesn’t like getting anywhere with that name. Seemingly unlike Momo he works much harder because of his father’s name - because he wants to be separate from it. He wants to do it himself.
But he undeniably has gotten to where he is because of his father. And also undeniably his father’s training affects absolutely everything he does - including how he interacts with his classmates (see: flatly laying out his plan to Momo without asking her anything even though she clearly wanted to say something.) Yeah.
I’m hoping the exam with Momo remains as a lesson that communication is kind of a two way street, and a partnership requires compromise on both sides. The whole thing could have been avoided if they’d actually spent pre-their exam discussing how they wanted to handle it instead of coming into the arena and then sharing the plan.
(These two are interesting to put side by side because they basically come from the same place - roots that can get them wherever they want to go in life, but they’re learning how to stand on their own too.)
Midoriya Izuku
His growth this season was glorious. Once Gran Torino got him thinking about One for All the right way, he made leaps and bounds of progress - maybe a little too quickly - but we can’t have everything. There was also some personality growth that is starting to show through. He’s not the same as he was in season 1, even only by the end of his first semester. He still gets nervous but it’s less often, he still cries easily - too easily - but it’s not as often.
He’s gaining confidence in the fact that this is his path to walk now, like he’s always wanted.
Shigaraki Tomura
So as far as villains go he’s not really my favorite. He lost a lot of his creepiness from the first season as we see him more and more. ... Probably because he mostly acts like a petulant six year old in an adult’s body.
I accidentally spoiled myself looking for something else, so I am aware of his actual identity. But it doesn’t change the way I honestly feel about him. (I do look forward to seeing how/when it’s revealed in the show, because I’m curious if All Might knows.)
The more he talks, the less scary he seems. He throws his power around, and that’s about it. ... His quirk has the potential to be devastating so there’s that.
I’m hoping now that he’s gained his... resolve or whatever we want to call it that he centralizes into a more interesting threat and less like a kid playing a video game and whining when things don’t go his way.
Dabi
So. He’s just a question mark. Mostly. Adult, early-to-mid twenties if I had to guess an age. Turquoise eyes. I happen to know that his quirk is fire based (I told y’all I’m terrible at staying out of trouble lmao). And he is specifically endeared to Stain’s ideals.
There’s also a pretty prevalent fanon idea that he is the eldest Todoroki child. And I uh, I’m not going to lie, but it’s a pretty intriguing idea, and I can easily see how someone raised by endeavor - especially someone who was deemed ‘unworthy’ the way Shoto’s siblings all were - might come to support the ideals of someone who believes heroes should be heroes selflessly.
I look forward to seeing how things go forward with Dabi and the villains in general. ... I also feel like Dabi and Tomura are not done clashing quite yet.
So for final thoughts...
This season opened up a number of doors and set into motion a lot of things all around our characters. Some of those things they are aware of, others... well, there is time enough for them to find out about later.
Our heroes made it through their first semester at school, but it’s pretty clear that their story has only just begun.
I was right, the extended season does this show a lot of favors, and I’m glad to see that season three is similarly long.
See you all next time!

My Hero Academia Time Travel AU
Basically a time travel Au inspired by the one made by @ribbons-halos where the kids of the class 1-A ships (Midoriya/Uraraka, Todoroki/Yaoyorozu, Kaminari/Jiro, Kirishima/Ashido (HORN BUDDIES, FIGHT ME!), and Ojiro/Hagakure) go back in time due to a future threat.
Many of the ideas come from crap I’ve seen around tumblr
Lots of ideas so It’ll be under the drop
Basically I was imagining that there is a villain with a time manipulation quirk. Of course, future symbol of peace Deku kicks his ass. So, he then decides to use a quirk enhancing drug to enhance his/her power to gain full on time travel. He/she uses this pwoer to try and go back in time before “Deku” became the symbol of peace, when he was just a fledgling little weakling in UA.
As for how the kids get there. Either A. this is when they are doing THEIR internships at UA and end up running into the time villain (kind of like how Midoriya, iida and Todoroki fought/met Stain), or they end up getting dragged to the past by accident, maybe they just run into their parents AS they’re fighting the time villain.
I even had ideas for the kids, but not names as I can’t come up with japanese names for shit.
Izuocha kid: female, brown curly hair (like Deku’s but with Ochaco’s color, almost like Ashido’s in a way now that I think about it). About Uraraka’s height at the time of the time jump, so about 5′0″-5′2″ (the kids are 14-15 atm). Her quirk is sort of a mixture of Uraraka’s and Izuku’s mom’s quirks (Zero Gravity and Attraction of Small Objects). Where she can create her own gravitational field and pull things toward her. She can use this for minor telekinesis, having things orbit around her and gain kinetic energy before launching them via the centripetal force, or even sticking to walls. As for personality, she has Izuku’s strong desire and drive to be a hero, but Ochaco’s more cheery attitude and optimism (not having someone beat you up for most of your life helps). BUT, she is also holding in a lot of stress since, as the daughter of the number one hero Deku, there is a lot of pressure on her to be a great hero. She does have a tendency to mumble like her dad, but is much more subtle about it (she, much like her mom, tends to hide her struggles). She’s basically eternally internally screaming due to stress or whenever things take a turn for the worst. otherwise she’s a pretty optimistic and driven girl.
Todomomo kid: one of the taller ones, I’d say he’s about 5′ 10″ (kinda wanted to make him taller than Shoto who is 5′9 1/4″). Much like his dad he has white and red hair, but he just has white bangs/front hair with the back being red (maybe even in a cool long samurai ponytail). Much like his dad he has half-hot half-cold. BUT instead of left and right, he’s top and bottom. So his upper body makes flames, while his lower body makes ice. Perfect for ice floors or fire punches. Also he is a killer ice skater and has NO SHAME IN IT! He isn’t as distant or moody because you BET YOUR ASS Shoto made sure he was an awesome dad unlike Endeavor. He’s just more capable of keeping a cool head. With Momo as a mom you bet he studies his ass off. Also with her quirk she helps him in having more control over his fire and ice to make constructs.
Kamijiro kid: Take Kaminari’s friendly and sociable nature, and Jiro’s music talent and tendency to insult kaminari and you get a guy who has a tendency to be a bit TOO causal with people. You meet this guy he will treat you like a brother/sister immediately. He’ll give you a nickname, maybe some joking insults/teasing, etc. Of course he plays instruments after asking his mom to tutor him in music (in this future Jiro is not only a pro hero but sometimes does music performances, Kaminari is her sidekick (like he always said he’d be) but also learned to play guitar from her). I had an idea where, as everyone has said the kamijiro kid quirk is having the wires/headphone jacks act like electric wires, the wires would be on his arms/wrists I beleive. Just to make them more easily accessible, because having them on the ears for Jiro made sense with her sound power, but not so much for the kid’s electrical wire ability. I got the idea after seeing Iida’s older bro Tensei/Ingenium 1 have boosters on his arms while Iida got them on his legs (I got the idea that quirks CAN change as they are passed on). Spiky hair with his mom’s coloring but with a bright yellow bolt like streak in it and as for height I feel like he’s be about 5′3″  or 5′6″(I have a tendency to make the characters in the middle of their parent’s height in this if u haven’t noticed).
Kirimina kid: I got this idea from a fankid post I saw a bit ago: mina’s pink skin and black sclera , but Kirishima’s naturally black hair (maybe she’d dye it but idk what color would fit) and red eye color. Very social and outgoing. Her quirk would take Kirishima’s hardening and mix it with Ashido’s acid in a way that sort of turns her into an acidic blob, like instead of hardening it does the opposite and makes her more of a blob of living acid. She can do this in a minor form, having just her arms become acid blobs if needed though.
Hagajiro kid (Ojiro and Hagakure, seriously what is their ship name?). I don’t really know much on these characters so I don’t really have much on a personality for this kid. But I do know that he/she would have both parents quirks but at a different level. First, his/her tail isn’t as thick/bulky as Ojiro’s, much more thinner, but still strong. Second, he/she DOES have invisibility, just not permanent like his/her mother. I mean Tokoyami has a bird head which contributes nothing to his qurik, so this kid can have a tail that has nothing to do with the invisibility.
Any other character without shops COULD have kids in this with an OC but I’m too lazy to come up with them atm.
But if I had to use the, I’d say Iida’s kid would be sort of like a female version of his but WAY more intimidating, like a disciplinarian, and her quirk would involve rocket boosters on her legs sort of like Iida, but due to her mother they can also function like jet boosters to allow flight as well as speed. Hatsumei would have a kid with tons of gadgets, in a way sort of like batman and/or iron man or somewhere in between just cause it;d be cool to have a gadget guy.
Now I did have an idea for a Bakugo/Toga kid (this is sort of my crackship of this series), Basically she is the result of a one night stand between the two when they were stressed and/or drunk and just wanted to get away from the “hero” and “villain” labels for just one night. naturally the expected happens and Toga decided to get rid of the kid (you can take this as her not wanting to deal with the little brat or her having SOME conscience and not wanting the kid to grow up with HER as a mom). Now naturally with Katsuki’s pride and temper, and Himiko’s......erm.....eccentricity, this kid isn’t going to be popular at the orphanage. Also adding on the fact that she’s got her dad’s quirk and she can cause some major damage. The only solace she could find was watching her favorite hero on TV. Guess what, it’s Bakugo in the future. Seeing him go against all those villains on TV and not give a shit inspires her not to let the bullies get away with calling her “devil child” or other similar insults. BUT, when one day she finally gets a chance to meet him (in a meeting almost similar to when Izuku met All Might), she shows off her quirk and gets all excited to see if he can give her some advice on being strong or whatever. BUT, Bakugo isn’t stupid. This chick looks EXACTLY like Himiko with her hair being his shade of blonde and has his eye color, but the facial structure is WAY to similar to just be a coincidence. Plus she looked old enough to match up with “That night”. Now, if someone were to find out that he had a bastard kid with a VILLAIN, his hero career might be shot. Plus all the emotions involved with figuring out only NOW that you have a daughter after who knows how many years you’ve seen her mom. In this little panic he basically tells the kid to fuck off. Now, having the only person you’ve every had any respect towards/your hero dismiss you like that can kind of mess a kid up. ESPECIALLY if it’s this kid right here. So, with the world basically having no meaning and her hero turning out to be a douche, she turns to villainy. Now she could be on some kind of villain team that goes with the time travel villain. Maybe her wish is to find Bakugo of the past and just ruin his hero career, or even kill him in revenge (cause no way she’d stand a chance against adult fully trained hero Bakugo), Of course the fact that he’s her dad MIGHT complicate things if you understand time travel.
ON TO THE PLOT SHENANIGANS!
Of course them being in the past kinda freaks them out, Todomomo kid is telling everyone to stay calm and that they shouldn’t try to meddle too much as changing the past can have massive repercussions on the future (ala butterfly effect). So of course when a villain attacks and they end up intervening (maybe they find the time villain about to attack young-Izuku on a shopping trip with his classmates or something), they end up getting discovered.
Now, since they do not exist (yet) there are no records of them, and they can’t say their real names less they affect the future (those with obvious traits like their parents need to hide them (Kamijiro kid’s wires, Kirimina’s whole body as the pink skin and eyes kinda give it away, todomomo’s hair, etc), now if these kids are in UA uniforms atm, then they might be screwed because these guys aren’t registered. And even if they aren’t, they are still minors who used their quirks to fight a villain without proper licensees. So they get interrogated. Cue all of them telling different mismatched stories about their situation (that trope is always funny). Of course they can’t mention who their parents are, or even their real surnames, so they get kept there.
But maybe one of the UA kids vogues for them b/x they did save their lives and the future kids get off with a warning. Kinda lazy and half-assed way of doing it but whatever.
Whoever feels like going off of this idea, go nuts and reply. I really wanna see someone write this shit and I have no skill on my own to do this level of drama and shipping.

And She’ll Love With All She Has
[AO3][FF.Net][Part I][Part II]
Summary:
A painful ending, a calm hello and a girl filled with so much love. [Katsuki x Fem!Izuku] [Shoto x Fem! Izuku]
-
Part III; I love you
"The cancer is back again, this time it's much more aggressive than usual, as well it's growing at a much faster rate than the last time."
Katsuki only stared at the doctor as he continued to spew useless information about his current situation. He knew that it would be back, there was a fifty-fifty chance when he over went chemotherapy and the surgery to remove the tumors growing inside him.
However, it didn't stop the deep anger and sadness to build in his chest. He was only twenty-five, his career as a hero over before it even flourished and he had ended a relationship he didn't want to end.
He knew if Izumi found out about the tumors, it would destroy her. He knows how bad she got after the battle between All Might and the villain All for One. How it almost destroyed her as she watched the man she considered as a father slowly become weaker as the days passed by.
When he decided to end their relationship before it grew harder to let her go (even though he didn't want to let her go), Katsuki knew he didn't want to see her smile break because of a situation she couldn't save someone from.
All Might was barely able to stay alive, laying in the hospital bed – hooked up with many machines to keep him alive, when Izumi had first made her big hit as Heroine Deku and only passed away as Classroom 1-A started to rise through the charts after few weeks of graduating.
He has seen how devastated she was when All Might pass away and he knew she wouldn't have been able to handle being in a relationship with him while he dealt with the tumors along with her relationship with All Might and their situation.
He knew he made the right call to break up with her.
Even if it cost losing her to someone else.
"She's getting married," Kirishima stated, sitting across from Katsuki as they both sat in his apartment's kitchen.
The blonde frown before he let out a deep sigh, "It was bound to happen, that half-and-half bastard didn't hesitate to get close to Izumi after we broke up," Katsuki grumbled, poking the fish on his plate.
From all his classmates, he would say that the red-head idiot was his closet friend. The one who continued to bargain in his life and discovering why he was slowly weakening when he was only sixteen and should be growing stronger instead.
Was the one who helps cover for him so Izumi wouldn't discover that something was wrong with him as well with his classmates.
"Cancer… it's back,"
He was the one that knew how much Katsuki hates cancer that grew and once more growing inside him. It has caused many step-backs, many difficult situations that Katsuki hated to deal with, but this time, Kirishima knew that Katsuki hates how he can not fight it any longer without the whole world knowing, without Izumi finding out.
Kirishima only frowned, his eyes held no pity but sadness and helplessness. There was nothing he could do for his friend.
"Have you told your parents?"
"Not yet," Katsuki murmured, placing the chopsticks on the plate and giving up on eating altogether for the day.
-
His parent wasn't happy about the news, his strong and proud mother reduced into tears and anger of feeling helplessness.
His father at loss of what to do with his only son. Feeling the same as he felt when he was first kidnapped by the League of Villains.
There was no happy ending for his life and his parents knew that they would be burying their child instead of watching him become the hero he always wished to become.
It was a sad night for all three of them.
-
The invitation was simple. There was no bold colors or expensive paper.
It was a simple invitation to Izumi's and the half-and-half bastard's wedding, detailing the information and the set date.
He didn't cry when he was first diagnosed with cancer, didn't cry when he broke up with Izumi, didn't even cry when the doctor broke the news to him that the cancer was back.
However, he wasn't sure what he was feeling when he finished reading the invitation, Izumi's familiar handwriting printed on the bottom of the letter. Filled with much emotion like usual, her hopeful pleads with him being able to come to her wedding.
I miss my best friend, please come to my wedding. I wish for you to be part of it, Kaachan.
He wasn't sure what to do. For the first time in his miserable life, he was feeling deep loss and despair.
-
He steps down as a hero, claiming a medical issue for the time being. Chemotherapy is much harsher than the last time he had it. His body was breaking down at a much faster pace. He's just lucky his hair wasn't falling yet, or it would be a tall tell sign that something was most defiantly wrong with him.
He ignored the messages from most of his classmates that usually worked with him, but he especially ignores half-and-half's phone calls. He didn't want to deal millions of questions and demands for answers.
And didn't want to deal with the bastard's words and fucking being honest.
He wasn't telling her.
-
"Something is going on,"
"What the fuck are you talking about, you shitty bastard," Katsuki all but growls at the male.
Todoroki only stares at him, his face not changing one bit as Katsuki whips his mouth.
"There is something wrong, Kirishima knows and he's helping you hide it. The teacher knows as well because it's their duty to know, but they won't let us know because that would break confidentiality between you and them," The male states.
"So, fucking what? It's not your goddamn business,"
"No, but you do know, that Izumi still cares about you, and she will later find out," Todoroki said, "And when she finds out she'll be upset as to why you didn't let her know, even after your messy breakup."
With one more stare, the teen turned to leave, leaving an angered blond screaming in the boy's bathroom.
-
The ceremony was a small one, with close friends and family members. Katsuki hid behind the behind them. Avoiding any small talk with everyone and just watched closely with a scowl on his face, trying to fight nausea and fatigue.
"Kaachan?" It's the familiar voice that draws him from his inner struggles. Twisting around, he caught Izumi in her wedding dress.
It was a simple western traditional dress, showing off her shoulders. Lace going down her arms and covering her dress, and pooling behind her.
Her messy green curls were pulled into a tight bun, allowing few ringlets to fall around her face. Her makeup was very light, making her green eyes pop even more than usual, along with her freckles.
"D-Deku," He whispered before shaking his head and glaring at her, "What are you doing here, you damn nerd?"
The green hair bride didn't seem surprised by his reaction, but smile warmly at him, "I hoped Kaachan would come, so I am glad you did."
Katsuki was thrown back by her answer before he clucks his tongue, "Why the fuck would you want to invite me to your damn wedding with the half-and-half bastard?"
"Because you are still my friend… my childhood friend. You have been there in my life and I know we went our separate ways when we broke up, but you'll always be a big part in my life and I want you to continue being there.
"Why? Why the fuck do you continue spewing the same thing over and over?" He almost screamed, clenching his hands on his sides. He broke up with her, tried to make her push him away so she wouldn't become hurt when he did die.
So why does she continue to insist on them being friends?
"Plus, my dream for being number one hero hasn't changed and while I know you are dealing some stuff, you are also in the line to become the number one hero, so I won't give up fighting you for that spot!"
And that hit him hard.
"Just because you are marrying that half-and-half bastard, don't think you got the upper hand, I'LL BE THE NUMBER ONE HERO BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!"
He was breathing heavily when he finished, before feeling nausea hitting him hard. Swallowing heavily, he glanced back at Izumi, she was looking at him with a forlorn look on her face.
"You never change," she said softly, "thank you for coming, Kaachan."
He watched her smile at him before she turns around when her name was called out by Uraraka, still getting along with her since high school.
"It is your fault you broke up with her, so stop staring at her like that," Twisting around he glared at Todoroki, the bastard still looking the same with his impassive face.
"Shut it you damn bastard, its none of your business as to why I broke up with her," Katsuki growls at him.
"It is when you keep staring at Izumi like she's everything too you," Todoroki stated.
"Damn it, I don't need this right now," Katsuki stated, pushing past the man in front of him but he stopped before he left the building, "… just take care of her since I can't."
Todoroki didn't say anything but stare at the blond leave, taking in his words as he observed Bakugo's face look defeated.
-
"Kaachan… I love you," She whispered softly.
Katsuki looked up from his book. Sitting across from him was Izumi, her book placed down as she stared at him with her big green eyes. Her face flushes bright red as she nibbled her bottom lip.
He knew he couldn't tell her the words verbally, but he was more of action anyways. Pulling her into a deep kiss, he held her tightly against his body.
It wasn't rough, but it wasn't like their usual soft pecks they have throughout the days. The kiss was deep and filled with deep raw emotion he has for her.
Pulling away, he opened his eyes and stared at her flush face, placing his forehead against hers, he pulled her one more time into a deep kiss, pushing her down to the floor. She was his as he was hers.
He would be all her first because even if he can't say the words out loud, he wanted her to be his. And damn it, she was making it too easy for him to continue falling for her.
'I love you too.'

BNHA AU Ideas : Quirk Ranking (Parts 1 and 2)
Also on AO3!
TL;DR: Quirks ranked are ranked by risk level, these ranks are stored in chips placed right next to the brain stem. People on both ends of the spectrum are suffering, but its all for the sake of safety.
Right?
Part 1: Background
Ok so, the Quirk ranking AU
When you are born, you are given a chip. This chip can be read by scanners in places like shopping centres, government buildings, hospitals etc.
It will have a rank on it, as well as an ID number. ID numbers can only be read by government official scanners in government buildings, prisons, and the rank updaters
America, Japan, China and Dubai are the only countries to mandate chipping, most other countries have outright banned it and a violation of human rights. People from these other counties are given a traveller’s chip in a bracelet they need to keep on them at all times.
These chips open doors, literally. You can’t ride the train without one, can’t enter schools or hospitals or public areas. Removing your chip is seen as something only the worst villains do; like you’re trying to erase yourself from society.
Blanks and Metallics have the highest rate of villainy out of the other rankings, but metallics and blanks are very rare overall. Still, it doesn’t help their perception and these numbers are touted frequently by chipping supporters.
Quirk ranking isn’t objective! Quirk ranking is often influenced by the bias of the doctor, like All might’s quirk being ranked low because he was so nice and heroic, and Shinso’s being ranked too high because the doctor was scared of it.
About the ranks
Blanks (5% of Population)
Just called blanks or quirkless. Its what everyone’s chip reads unless/until their quirk comes in some “high risk” areas will deny entry to blank chips because of “risk”. Because everyone thinks of blanks as kids, not the quirkless, these laws are rarely disputed. Allowing entry of blanks into private businesses is a higher insurance cost so some areas can't afford to let the quirkless in, or use it as an excuse to turn them away.
It was originally the opposite, people with quirks were kept away from the quirkless because they were apparently an inherent risk. Propaganda from the times was along the lines of “You’d watch a tiger. Just because it hasn’t bitten anyone doesn’t mean it doesn’t want to” and “Chip them like the dogs they are.” This has been heavily covered up in recent years as an ugly part of Japan’s past.
Little kids celebrate getting their quirks in as they can now enter 90% of areas rather than 30%. Some places like arcades, gyms, dojos will ban blanks from entering full stop, no exceptions.
Colour Spectrum (90% total)
Blue/Purple (22% Population)
Non-threatening. Cant be used to harm people directly, includes a lot of animal mutant quirks and those without obvious offensive abilities.
Can be teased as kids but don’t tend to face any real discrimination (blues can be exceptions as some schools/jobs will find reasons not to hire them). If they become heroes they are typically children’s heroes.
The quirk doesn’t need to be weak to be ranked low, simply needs to have a low-risk factor, but many people view them as weak because they lack offensive capability. UA has been trying to change the entrance exam for years to allow these ranks to have a fighting chance but the heroic’s commission won't have it.
Green/Yellow/Orange (60% Population)
These quirks are very useful and the most well-liked, and least mistreated. Strong and simple to understand, medium risk. Easy to contain.
Most heroes are in this area of the rankings, but people with these quirks tend to do well whatever carrier they take.
Orange quirks are a little bit “scarier”. Either they are more difficult to contain or have uncomfortable aspects like mental quirks, blood control, etc. Still, they don’t tend to be treated badly.
Red (8%)
The start of the “Scary” quirks. These quirks are very strong, even from a young age and have inherently violent capabilities, but are still ranked low enough that they aren’t too feared, and there are no restrictions placed on their chips.
Kids with red quirks are the top dogs of the school. They get away with a lot too, with quirks strong enough to be hard to deal with but not so strong that 2 adults can’t control them.
Basically, the limit for this is “could 2 heroes take you out if you were a villain?” and if yes, it's red.
Reds sometimes have damaging backlash, often what keeps them out of bronze (i.e., navel laser)
Metallics (5% total)
Bronze (4%)
Now these quirks can do some damage, these are the start of the movement restrictions, but most in bronze view them as badges of pride. Bronze chips cant enter places like hospitals, daycares and nursing homes without taking quirk control classes. It's pretty common for bronze kids to take a week off in kindergarten to get them all out of the way so they can get their permissions updated.
There is a mix of fear and respect from bronze quirks, they are either seen as top dogs or villains in the making. Being a hero is a top job choice for people with this ranking.
All might’s quirk was ranked bronze when he entered the playing field, but many people theorise it should have been ranked gold. Still, All might helped the popular perception of metallics in the country, making them far more popular.
Silver (.8%)
These quirks aren’t popular. Heroics is seen as the only respectable career for them, even with quirk usage classes some hospitals won't let them enter. It’s rare they will be attacked due to their strength but people are often afraid of them, many bosses won't hire them because they “pose a risk”
Gold (.2%)
Same as silver really, very very rare.
Monochrome (So low it can’t be estimated, around 0.0000000001% of all quirks)
Black (???% - presumably more common than white)
There are no recorded black quirks in Japan so there are no current restrictions.
White (???% - presumably less common than black)
All for One is the first recorded white quirk in the world, and currently, the only person to hold such a rank.
Restrictions are extreme. No quirk scanners will let them enter, mostly just because the only person with a white quirk is a 200-year-old bogey man of a villain.
Most of the character's quirk's official rankings:
White: All for one, One for All (Izuku's time, with the addition of black whip + the other 6) Black: N/A Gold: (One for All at All Might's prime, but he never updated his quirk ranking) Silver: Half Hot Half Cold, Creation, Voice, Portal Bronze: Explosion, Dark Shadow (ranked for his poor control as a child), Mind Control (was only ranked this high because the doctor was prejudice), Overhaul, Fierce wings, One for All (All Might's Offical ranking) Red: Navel Lazer, Acid, Electricity, Twice, Mustard Gas, Blade Tooth, Compress Decay, Cremation, Muscular, Hell Fire Orange: Cement, Engine, Zero-G, Sugar Rush, Earphone Jack, Chronosatsis, Elasticity Yellow: Somnambulist, Blood Control, Harden, Transform, Magnesis, Blood Curdle Green: Frog, Clone, Dupli-Arms, Pop off, Mimicry, Air Jet Blue: Erasure, Tail, Tape, Foresight Purple: High Specs, AniVoice, Love Blank: (Izuku's original official ranking, Yagi's original official ranking)
Part 2: Plot
So Izuku has been ranked as blank his whole life, then he suddenly gets a quirk. All Might asks him when he's going to get his chip updated and Izuku looks at him with steel in his eyes.
“I’m not going to. I’m going to be the number one with a blank chip and show them how stupid their system is.”
Yagi is so proud of his boy and they have a cute little moment
On the day of the entrance exam, Izuku isn’t sure the doors will let him in, but they do thankfully.
When Izuku blasts the zero pointer into itty bitty pieces the teachers look at his file and share a “wtf” look with each other because this kid is meant to be quirkless.
After the quirk assessment, Aizawa asks Izuku about it and he sheepishly explains his quirk came in super late and that he wants to prove people with blank chips aren’t worthless.
Aizawa tries not to smile and tells him to hurry up and get better at controlling his messed-up quirk.
And Izuku does. He gets fully cowl before the sports festival because Aizawa throws a few tips around and it clicks a little earlier
Present Mic hears about Izuku sticking it to the ranking system and quickly decides this kid is amazing.
With his silver ranking, no other school would let him teach. He couldn’t visit Aizawa in the hospital after the USJ until he was moved from the ICU, and people always said he’d become a villain.
He knows silver restrictions are mild compared to blank but he empathises and is quietly cheering him on.
The only students in 1A that know he has a blank chip are Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki and Bakugo
Iida and Uraraka saw him get barred entry at a store and he had to sheepishly explain. He confessed to Todoroki at the sports festival. Bakugo has known him his whole life.
Well, that is until the licensing exams.
See, the doors lock on him. They won't let someone with a blank chip enter the exam. Izuku is crying a little because it's embarrassing and he doesn’t want the class to know.
In a show of solidarity that he’ll never admit to, Bakugo refuses to enter until Izuku is cleared to go in. When the rest of 1A find out about it, they refuse to enter as well. They stand shoulder to shoulder around Izuku daring the proctors to say anything rude to him.
After seeing this Inasa doesn’t go after Todoroki as hard in the exam, they manage to talk it out just prior to the last part, they still fail because they are both kind of out of it but they end the exam on good terms.
The heroics commission is on UA’s ass, pressing them into getting Izuku’s quirk graded because he's a “danger” and “a wildcard”
This pressure increased after black whip manifested during the camp attack, and after the villains kidnapped him and Bakugo
UA tries to shield Izuku from this as much as possible, only the first quirk assessment is mandatory and doesn’t need to be updated after the age of 6, it's optional after that. Izuku keeps seeing his mother throwing away important looking documents but he doesn’t ask why.
He overhears Ectoplasm telling Nezu and Aizawa it would just be easier to make him get his chip updated so the heroics commission stops threatening to pull their funding
Aizawa and Nezu are mad, and Izuku feels a little better but he still feels super guilty about the whole thing
The villains tried to play into the “you’ve both been mistreated because of your ranking” it doesn’t work at all.
By the time we get to the Overhaul arc, Izuku has manifested 4 of the previous holders’ quirks and the heroics commission is crying out for his chip to be updated, calling parallels to AFO but Nezu politely tells them to go fuck themselves.
Nighteye never once mentions Izuku’s blank chip and he's very grateful for that.
The 8 precepts are very interested in him, his multiple quirks and late manifestation may be able to help with the eradication of quirks.
The first time Izuku sees Eri, a chip reader in a store goes off because she doesn’t have one. He refuses to give her back to Overhaul, they take her back to Nighteye
Nighteye is furious until Izuku explains the girl doesn’t have a chip. That either means she has never been entered into the schooling/medical/government systems or its been illegally removed. He tells him he still shouldn’t have done that but it wasn’t a bad call.
That night, on his way back to UA, Izuku is taken by the 8 precepts.
They are furious and they know exactly how to ruin his life.
Using one of their contacts in the heroics commission, they get his chip updated to what the heroics commission thinks it should be.
Izuku wakes up, hurt and feeling violated and sore. He's covered in weird markings from Overhauls quirk but has no memory of it being used on him
Confused, upset and afraid he uses his quirk to run back to UA. Upon reaching the gate, it slams shut and alarms start blaring.
He breaks down sobbing.
1 minute later the staff of UA rush to the gate, expecting AFO to have broken out of prison for revenge. Instead, they see Izuku, covered in scares, battered with parts of his hero costume missing, sobbing on the ground.
Nezu checks his emails.
“Thank you for allowing us to update Midoriya Izuku’s ranking chip. His new ranking is: White. Have a nice day.
- The Heroics Commission of Japan”
