Ghost Kitten
A/N: I got fascinated with the idea of Danny being Selina's son and then during work this sort of idea formed in my head.
Danny wasn't supposed to know yet. Jack had it all prepared for when Danny would get to learn about this. But this, this was not how Danny was supposed to learn about his origins yet. Jack Fenton wasn't sure how to react, so he ended up possible reacting in the worst way possible if he judged it by the way his sweet little boy was looking at them.
Jack tried to remember where it went wrong. Jazz had come to them, told them Danny wanted to have an important talk. That it was so important that she needed both of them to focus on him seriously. It had worried Maddie and him at first and when they sat down on the couch facing their children they weren't sure what to expect. But then his boy told him about the accident he had in the lap, about how things changed even asking them if they ever noticed how Danny's behaviours changed.
Jack had to admit then, that he hadn't really noticed and it made his mouth taste like dirt. He didn't like where this was going. He saw how his children exchanged a glance and then his sweet boy told them the truth and Jack could feel the horror overtaking his entire mind. The accident had changed Danny even worse.
He couldn't help but remember a term he had last heard long ago before his collage years even. Meta Human. His son had become a Meta human with ghost based powers and had kept it a secret from them for so long. Jack didn't know how to react then and still didn't know now. All he could think about were the horrors he had put his sweet little son through. All the times he had offhandedly said he would tear him apart molecule by molecule. In how much fear did his son have to live until he gathered enough courage to tell them, most likely only because Jazz was there to support him?
Jack didn't want to imagine it anymore. All he wanted was to hug his little boy and tell him that everything would be okay but before he could do anything. Maddie, his until then wonderful, wife told them something in return they had an agreement over when to tell them.
"You're adopted. You are not my child."
Until then Jack had always thought Maddie loved Danny just as much as he did but as he locked at his wife and saw the steely coldness flickering in them with distress. He wasn't so sure anymore. Torn between being angry at Maddie for the first time after so long and wanting to comfort his boy, Jack could do nothing but sat frozen as his beloved family broke apart before his eyes.
Suddenly Maddie and Jazz got into a headed argument, Danny was starting to draw into himself, making himself smaller watching his mother and sister fight. Until Maddie stormed out fo the room. Jazzie gave him a challenging look but Jack didn't know what to say so instead, what he had planned to tell his son when he turned 18 he was going to tell him now.
"Danny you know how we have barely any contact with family from my side? There is a reason behind it. But the important part here is that the only one I do keep sort of contact with is my fourth cousin and even that is nothing more than a couple messages ever few months."
"And what does that have to do with Danny?" Jazz pressed on while his little boy finally got the courage to look up at him.
"Dann-no, I need for you to now that no matter what you are or what I am going to tell you, you are my little boy, my son." Jack did everything he could to stare reassuringly at his boy and smiled once he saw him smile just a little too, he was most likely relieved that he was taking the news better than his mother.
"About 16 year ago, my fourth cousin contacted me out of the blue, till then we had only exchanged a couple of words and theories and projects. But that time was different. She was panicked, unsure and distressed. I don't know the specifics, all she told me was that she had gotten pregnant with a child from a fling who she wasn't sure wanted a relationship with or not and that she couldn't take care of a child in a city as dangerous as where she lived."
Understanding dawned on his daughter's face and Jack smiled fondly, Jazzie-pants had always been a smart cookie. "She didn't want to put the baby into her system, nor let a stranger take care of it. So she asked me and the moment I saw the little baby the first time. I knew he would be my son no matter what or how long she would want for me to take care of him."
Danny blinked wide eyed at Jack as finally his boy also understood what he was telling him. "Technically you are my fifth cousin, but I would prefer for you to stay my son for as long as you want."
He left his children after telling Danny the truth of his origin. Jack new he would love his son no matter what he was or his reaction towards the truth of his origins. Still he hoped this would not tear his family apart and that it would only take a day or two for Maddie to cool off for things to go back to an adjusted normal. Jack mused that he would have to diele back on the ghost ripping comments, he wouldn't want for his little boy to live in fear in their own house.
That what he thought until he saw his wife stewing in their bedroom, muttering about theories and how their boy wasn't their boy. He knew his wife, and dearly loved her. But it was because he knew her that he did the next thing he felt like regretting the next moment.
Danny is no longer safe with us. - J
He didn't get an answer from his cousin and the next morning he knew why. He did expect for her to want to remove Danny from their care, but he did not expect her to visit him with barely any time delay the next day.
All he could do was to stare and watch as Selina appeared on his doorstep with a man that was glaring at him and Jack might have only seen in magazines before, asking if she could meet her boy and how much he had already told Danny about his birth. And when he saw his baby boy's reaction to the two he wanted to do nothing more than hug and cuddle his little boy but once again, he got beaten to it by his fourth cousin.
His poor boy looked so unsure when Selina hugged him that Jack really wanted to take him away again, but he had no other choice, if he wanted to ensure his boy's safety.

In the beginning of this season we had Chris talking about Shannon and how it didn't matter if he wasn't being serious about the girls he's dating because all people did was leave anyway. They kind of wrapped all that up in that episode but I feel like there was a lot more to that scene than just the surface stuff.
This could have been just a convo with Eddie and Chris or even just Chris and Buck but instead it was all three of them. They put Eddie in that scene for a reason. Because it's not just Chris that's afraid of everyone leaving it's Eddie too.
More accurately Eddie is scared to lose the one person who knows him better than anyone else (think about who was there during the worst parts of Eddie's ptsd) and who was not only there but saved Eddie during the shooting. Buck is who knows him and who he depends on not just as a friend and partner but as a co parent. Just look at when he was worried about Chris this season he went straight to Buck to talk about it and ask for help.
What if Eddie has known about his feelings for Buck since he almost died in that well. If you watch that ep what he sees in his flashes of memory are predominately Buck and Chris. And what did he do after that? He added Buck to his will. Sure it was to make sure Chris was safe and looked after but if you watch and listen to Eddie when he tells Buck about the will it's clear that he was trying to say I love you to him in the only way he felt he could. Also if the will wasn't that big of a deal why did it take him a whole year to even tell Buck about it?
We've been so focused on Buck and his jealousy and insecurities (rightfully so given his past) we haven't been talking about how Eddie has a lot of those himself. What happened with Shannon scarred him a lot especially where Chris is concerned. She hadn't even been back in their lives all that long before she died and it clearly still impacts them both.
If you look at how few relationships Eddie has had since then and how he always seems hesitant to be vulnerable or invest much of himself in them this is why. I also think it's because his heart already belongs to Buck. These relationships to me have all feel very hollow like we're watching a guy just go through the motions. I mean look at how he broke up with Ana.
I think it's very likely that Eddie knows how he feels about Buck is more than just friendship but 1. He doesn't think those feelings would be reciprocated. 2. Even if they are I think Eddie is going to be scared at first to risk their friendship and change things. To lose the one person who has been a constant since he came into it. But I think Eddie's biggest hesitation will be Chris. He knows the kind of bond Chris and Buck have had so I think he would be worried about doing something to fuck that up. He still likely blames himself over Shannon's death and blames himself for why his son doesn't have a mom, so he'll likely be scared to risk losing the only other parent Chris has known.
Ultimately I do think we're going to get canon Buddie (probably not until season 8) but I do think this is one way they could drag the story out for a little bit. Like we could have Buck with his whole jealousy thing which leads him into figuring out his sexuality and at some point during all this in season 7 he'll have his Oh moment.
Eventually Eddie either finds out about Buck's feelings for him or Buck tells him and maybe we even get a kiss between them but then Eddie stops it and says he can't do it he can't risk what they have for something they might have and lose.
So into season 8 they're a little weird around each other until Buck decides to start dating a guy and we get to see Eddie being jealous and realizing he doesn't want to be without Buck anymore (and can't stand the thought of him with someone else). And this forces him to have to deal with a lot of the stuff he's never really dealt with from Shannon's death. Maybe we get some Frank scenes. Or maybe some Eddie and Maddie scenes because despite what the show would have a us believe I do think they hang out sometimes. But at some point maybe towards the end of season 8 we get one of those big sappy romantic gestures where Eddie tells Buck he loves him and he's always been his person. I'd also love it if season 8 ended up with Buck moving into Eddie and Chris' place. Buck has always been searching for where he belongs when his home is right there with his boys.

Remember It
I had a whole thing prepared and saved in drafts to continue after ep 5 but then I watched it and decided that particular post will have to wait. My thoughts on this episode are....well we'll get there. If you haven't watched it--Do that now because I'm not pulling any punches. Also this is very long so be warned.
As always I'm focusing on our Rogue and Remy moments. Those Jean/Maddy/Scott/Logan....that shit is not my concern. (Short answer it's messy as hell and I hate it.)
The episode starts with Rogue, Remy and Erik in the Blackbird heading to Genosha. Remy makes a comment about how long they are taking and Erik decides to remind Remy that the latter cannot fly. For what reason I don't really know, as if Rogue won't catch the Cajun. Rogue tells them to shut up and play nice. (good on her)
They arrive and Remy is unexpected again earning a comment from Erik. Soon after they are ambushed by Kurt (hell yes the fuzzy elf) who tells them that a lot has happened since they last saw him (though we are not granted the details). Kurt proceeds to show Remy and Rogue around Genosha. Here we get a glimpse of the mutant island. It's nice and everyone seems happy to which Rogue makes a comment about "him" being right. Obviously "him" is Erik.
We learn that apples apparently cost $10 to which Remy remarks on the price and Kurt brushes it off as a necessary evil (not his words). We then get more cameos of mutants (awesome btw) and eventually a long coveted Remy and Kurt scene wherein Kurt is everyone's favorite guy. He proves to be a "shipper on deck" telling Remy that Remy and Rogue belong together and they should cut the act and just get married. (Seriously I love Kurt. He rocks.)
Next up we have Rogue talking to Erik and learning that he wants her to rule Genosha with him (there's a whole scene with Moira, Emma Frost, Banshee, Sabastian Shaw, and Madylene). Rogue declines, offended that he seems to have set it up but Erik assures her that he didn't want this and that it was something Xavier would have wanted. He also proceeds to address Remy's feeling for Rogue as "you make broken men feel whole." She leaves to think about his offer.
She then goes to Remy and explains everything. She tells him of her past with Erik and how they had something special but it wasn't like Remy. Remy is understandably upset at the secrets, saying he was fine keeping things unofficial. She admits she loves Remy that he "lights up everything he touches" and that she "can't touch his heart." This leads Remy to tell her that "some things are deeper than skin."
She doesn't believe him and tells him she'll take Erik's offer despite not being in love with him anymore. Remy tells her that Erik will break her heart and that when he does, Remy will be there for her. Until then they shall remain as friends. (Seriously perfect this man.)
At the gala, where Erik is presented as the future of Genosha, Rogue makes an entrance as Remy watches. He leaves as Erik and Rogue dance, holding hands and being very physically intimate. He doesn't see that after a kiss, Rogue tells Erik that Remy was right- "Some things are deeper than skin." She leaves to find Remy.
All hell breaks loose as a massive Sentinel attacks. Rogue finds Kurt, injured and without her gloves she is unable to help her brother, Thankfully, Remy arrives and assures us Kurt is alive. Remy goes off to find the Morlocks and lead them to safety while Erik and Rogue help out where they are.
Remy and the Morlocks are attacked leading to a showdown where Erik is protecting the Morlocks and Rogue and Remy by keeping the latter two away from the fight. Erik fails and Rogue, grief-stricken, tries to attack the Sentinel, Remy stops her. The machine turns to a group of mutants, including Kurt and Remy charges in to save them.
He gets close but is impaled, at which point he says the title of the episode while charging the entire Sentinel- "The name is Gambit, mon ami. Remember it." Rogue finds him in a crater, dead- "I can't feel you."
Ok so more or less that ended up as a synopsis of the episode because the whole thing was basically about Romy. The Key notes we get are:
Kurt being a supportive brother and rooting for the relationship giving us a beautiful line "love is not without sin".
Rogue wanting to do what is best for mutant kind even if that means she cannot be with the one she loves.
Remy deciding that he can wait for her to be ready and will be her friend until that time comes.
Rogue deciding that Remy was right "some things are deeper than skin."
Erik accepting Rogue's decision and saving not only her, but Remy as well.
Remy proving that despite what he thinks of himself- he is a hero and a good man.
This episode broke my heart but handled the Erik/Rogue/Remy triangle very well. It is so mature in stark contrast to that of Scott/Jean/Maddy/Logan. Logan being the most mature person in that entire mess, knowing that Jean and Scott love each other and that he can be her friend. Cable (who was the orignial person in the series to say "My name is_. Remember it.) made an appearance confirming that he is Nathan and that he has already tried to stop the attack from occurring. We can only hope we get a chance to see him succeed and see Rogue tell Remy their love is deeper than skin.
Now if you don't mind me, I'm going to go find something to stop these tears. Until next time, "look to the stars for hope shines bright." (I know that's the wrong franchise but it works. Apparently the Watcher was visible in the sky at one point.)

Top Gun - Baby Mav Chapter 20: Where Not Thinking Gets Us
Masterlist
Maverick woke up to a pounding headache, a sore body, and a cold face. He thought he heard something but ignored it.
Until it got closer.
He sat up quickly when he recognized that sound. He tried to get up and run, but he was still attached to his parachute. He disconnected it and ran as he heard the helicopter warming up its guns. He dove behind a fallen tree right as they started firing.
Suddenly, the firing stopped. He let out a sigh of relief as he sat up. That sigh was interrupted when the helicopter flew around and got him in their sight. Maverick watched as the guns moved so they were pointed at him.
There was an explosion but not the one he thought. Instead of him, the helicopter was the one that exploded. Maverick watched as a certain F-18 flew by.
"Oh, no, no." He mumbled. Rooster flew by, briefly forgetting about the SAMs. Maverick jumped when Rooster's plane was hit.
~ • ~
"Dagger Two is hit," the comms officer said slowly.
That did it.
Maddlyn couldn't hold back her sob anymore. Hondo jumped up and wrapped his arms around her as she sobbed.
"Dagger Two is hit."
"Dagger Two, come in. Dagger Two, do you copy?"
Maddlyn grabbed Hondo's radio before anyone could stop her. "Rooster? Rooster, answer me. Please. Bradley?"
Maddlyn's sob came back the longer it took for Rooster to answer her. With the radio still in her hand, the trainees could hear her break.
"I lost them," she whispered. "I lost both of them."
Hangman couldn't listen to this.
~ • ~
Maverick instantly started running towards the crash site when he saw the parachute. He ran through the woods, focusing on where Rooster landed.
"You all right?" He asked as he ran to him.
"Yeah, I'm good. You all right?"
The second he got to him, Maverick allowed his anger to push him down.
"What the hell?" Rooster yelled as he threw off his helmet and jumped up.
"What are you doing here?" Maverick shot back as he threw his own helmet down.
"What am I doing here?" Rooster repeated.
"You think I took that missile so you could be down here with me?" Maverick scoffed. "You should be back on the carrier by now!"
"I saved your life!"
"I saved your life. That's the whole point," he said, calming down. "What the hell were you even thinking?"
"You told me not to think!"
Maverick studied Rooster as he threw his hands up in defense. They both breathed heavily as they tried to catch their breaths.
"Well," Maverick sighed, "now we need to think."
"About how to. . ." Rooster started to agree but Maverick cut him off.
"Maddy."
"Shit," Rooster mumbled as he ran his fingers through his hair. "She thinks. . ."
"We both went down," Maverick finished for him. "Now, we need to do everything we can to get back to her."
"And fast," Rooster agreed. "So what's the plan?"
"Working on it."
* * * * *
As they hid on top of the ridge, Rooster knew Maverick was crazy. They looked down at the runway the ship had blown up.
"You're not serious."
"Unfortunately," Maverick sighed, "if we want to get back to Maddlyn, this is how."
Maverick got up and started jogging down the hill. Rooster watched him for a few seconds, his mind on the woman he loves back at base who is trying to put her mind around the idea that her father and the boy she loves are gone.
Rooster jumped up and followed him. They were able to take cover right at the edge of the woods.
"You've got to be shitting me," Rooster scoffed. "An F-14?"
"I shot down three MiGs in one of those," Maverick shrugged.
"We don't even know if that bag of ass can fly," Rooster added. "I highly doubt we can get back to Maddy in that thing."
"Let's find out."
"Mav!" Rooster yelled as Maverick jumped up and ran towards the F-14. "Okay," he sighed as he started running after him.
"There's guys up there, Mav," Rooster warned as they ran across the runway.
"Yeah," he said, sounding like he wasn't phased.
"There's more over there."
"Okay."
"And you don't seem worried," Rooster sighed.
"Focus on Maddy," he instructed. "Focus on her and you won't worry about them."
"Focus on Maddy," Rooster repeated. "Maddy. Right."
They ran into the hangar, Maverick instantly looking at the controls. Rooster, on the other hand, kept nervously glancing over his shoulder.
"Once I give you the signal for air, you're gonna flip this switch until the needle gets to 120," Maverick instructed. "When the engine starts, you got to pull out the pins and disconnect everything. You understand?"
"Yeah."
Maverick started powering it up, holding his breath as he waited for the plane to kick on. "Yes!" He laughed. "Once I'm up, stow the ladder."
Maverick climbed up the ladder and got into the seat. "Okay," he said under his breath. "Wow. It's been a minute. I could really use you right about now, Mads."
He powered it up and sent Rooster the signal. Rooster instantly turned and flipped the switch that Maverick told him to. As soon as the engine turned on, Rooster ran and disconnected the plane from the fuel line. Once it was all disconnected, Rooster jumped onto the wing and got in the other seat.
"This thing is so old," he mumbled.
"All right," Maverick sighed as the plane rolled forward. "Canopy?"
"Clear."
As they pulled onto the taxiway, the canopy shut. "Um, Mav? Both runways are cratered. How are we gonna get this museum piece in the air?"
Without saying anything, Maverick pushed the lever that activated the wings.
"Why are the wings coming out, Mav?"
Maverick didn't respond. "Mav, this is a taxiway, not a runway," Rooster warned. "This is a very short taxiway, Mav."
"Just hang on."
"Holy shit!" Rooster yelled as Maverick didn't ease into taking off.
"Come on," he mumbled. "Needle's alive. Come on."
"Mav?" Rooster questioned when he saw the giant fuel tanks blocking the rest of the taxiway.
"That's it," he mumbled. "Come on, come on! Alright."
"Mav!"
"Here we go." Maverick pulled back, making the nose of the plane lift.
"Holy shit," Rooster gasped.
They both let out relieved laughs as they barely made it. As they went up, Rooster sent a signal with his ESAT.
~ • ~
"Sir," a comms officer back at the base said, "we're receiving a signal from Rooster's ESAT."
Maddlyn froze. She looked up at the screen, barely able to see Rooster's signal on the screen through her tears.
"Bradley," she whispered. "He did it."
Hondo tightened his arms around her.
"Of course he did," he whispered.
"He couldn't have done it alone," Maddlyn started to say before the comms officer interrupted her.
"But there seems to be a malfunction."
"Have you lost him?" Admiral Bates asked quickly.
"No, sir. He's supersonic."
"He's airborne," Admiral Bates mumbled.
"In what?" Admiral Simpson couldn't help but laugh.
"Sir," another comms officer said. "Overwatch reports an F-14 Tomcat is airborne and on course for our position."
"It can't be," Admiral Simpson said slowly.
Maddlyn started giggling. Her laughter made Admiral Simpson know exactly how Rooster was still alive and how he was in an F-14 Tomcat.
"Maverick."
~ • ~
"Okay, Rooster, get us in touch with the boat."
"I'm working on it," he said, his thoughts only on hearing Maddlyn's voice. "Radio's out. No radar. Everything's dead back here. What do I do? Talk me through it."
"Okay, first the radio," Maverick started. "Throw the, uh-- the UHF-2 circuit breaker. Try that."
"There's 300 breakers back here," Rooster sighed. "Anything more specific?"
"I don't know. That was your dad's department."
"I'll figure it out."
Rooster started scanning the different breakers. Something out of the corner of his eyes caught his attention.
"Mac, tally two, 5:00 low. What do we do?"
"Okay, listen. Just be cool," Maverick said calmly. "If they knew who we were, we'd be dead already."
"Well, here they come. What's your plan?"
"Just put your mask on," he said as he did the same. "Remember, we're on the same team. Just wave and smile."
The two waved as one of the planes came up next to them. Maverick tried to signal that their radio was down. The other pilot signaled back.
"What's that signal?" Rooster asked. "What's he saying?"
"No idea," Maverick sighed. "I have no idea what he's saying."
"What about that one? Any idea?"
"No, never seen that one either."
"Oh shit," Rooter mumbled. "His wingman is moving into weapons envelope."
"All right, listen up," Maverick instructed. "When I tell you, you grab those rings above your head. That's the ejection handle."
"Mav, can we outrun these guys?"
"Not their missiles and guns."
Rooster slowly tore his eyes away from the planes. "Then it's a dogfight," he said under his breath. "I'm sorry, Mads."
"An F-14 against fifth-gen fighters?" Maverick asked. "I'm sorry too, Maddy."
"It's not the plane, it's the pilot." Rooster recited. "You'd go after them if I wasn't here."
"But you are here," Maverick sighed. "And I promised Maddy. . ."
"Come on, Mav," Rooster pushed. "Don't think. Just do."
Maverick thought about it, weighing his options. The one thing that finally made him snap out of it was the thought of Maddlyn having to go through the rest of her life alone.
Rooster gasped as Maverick rolled the plane to the side. He rolled over one of the planes, setting off his guns.
"Tell me when you see smoke in the air," Maverick said.
"Smoke in the air! Smoke in the air!"
"Hang on."
Maverick moved so that the missile hit the plane that shot them.
"Yeah, Mav!" Rooster laughed. "Splash one! Splash one! Here comes another one."
Maverick pulled up. He waited until they were going straight to tell Rooster to send off their flares.
"Splitting the throttles," Maverick said going into autopilot. "Coming around. Give me tone, give me tone."
Maverick smirked when the target locked.
"You got him, Mav! You got him!" Rooster cheered.
"Taking the shot."
They watched as the plane dodged the shot.
"What the. . ."
"Holy shit," Rooster gasped. "What the hell was that?"
"Hang on. We gotta get low. This terrain will confuse his targeting system."
"Here he comes!"
As they flew through the canyon, Maverick was right. The lower they flew, the more it confused the other plane's sensors. They grunted when the other pilot just started firing.
"Talk to me, Rooster. Where is he?"
"He's still on us!"
The pilot lined up behind him and took the shot. "We took a hit!" Rooster yelled. "We took a hit!"
"Damn it!"
"Come on, Mav," Rooster said as they barely got away from the pilot's next couple of shots. "Do some of that pilot shit."
"Brace yourself," Maverick warned. Maverick got out from in front of the other plane and was able to line them up behind it.
"I got the tone," he said once his target locked. "Taking the shot."
"Damn it!" Rooster yelled when the guy shot their missile.
"Out of missiles," Maverick said. "Switching to guns."
Maverick didn't keep track of how many rounds he had left as he held down the trigger.
"Come on, Mav," he mumbled to himself.
"You got him, Mav!" Rooster cheered when Maverick finally hit the guy.
"It's not over yet," he sighed. "One last chance."
"You can do this."
Maverick finally hit the plane, letting the bullets string across the back of the plane. They watched as the pilot ejected and the plane crashed against the mountain.
"Yes!" Rooster cheered. "Splash two!"
Once they were safe, Rooster resumed his search for the radio. He sighed in relief when he pushed a button and the system powered up.
"Mav, I got the radio on."
"Outstanding," he chuckled. "Get us in touch with the boat."
"Copy that."
Suddenly an alarm started going off. "What the. . ."
"Are you kidding me?" Rooster scoffed. "Where the hell is this guy?"
Maverick's stomach sank when he found him. "He's on our nose." He tried to start shooting but the clicks were empty. "Damn it, we're out of ammo."
His stomach sank even lower when the plane in front of him sent off a missile. "Smoke in the air! Rooster, flares!"
Maverick turned them as Rooster released the flares. They both sighed in relief as their flares took out the missile.
"That was close," Rooster said. They gasped when the plane flew a little too close to them. "We're out of flares, Mav. Shit, he's already on us."
The chase was easy for the enemy but tough for Maverick and Rooster. It didn't matter how good of a pilot Maverick was, he couldn't shake an F-18 in an F-14.
"We took another hit!"
"No, no, no, no, no!" Maverick mumbled.
"We can't take much more of this," Rooster warned.
"We can't outrun this guy," Maverick sighed. "We gotta eject."
"What?"
"We need altitude. Pull the ejection handles the second I tell you."
"Mav, wait!"
"Roosters, there's no other way. If we want to get back to Maddy, we need to eject."
Before Rooster could try to talk him out of it, Maverick yanked them backward and made them go straight up.
"Eject, eject, eject! Rooster, pull the handle. Eject!"
"It's not working!"
The higher they got, the harder it was to breathe. Maverick knew he couldn't get them out of this.
"Mav!"
"I'm sorry," he said through his heavy breathing. "I'm sorry, Goose."
Suddenly, the F-18 was hit by a missile and exploded. Rooster and Maverick both turned around to see a different F-18 flying through the smoke."
"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen."
"Son of a bitch," Rooster laughed. Maverick shook his head as Hangman put his plane next to theirs.
"This is your savior speaking," Hangman continued. "Please fasten your seat belts, return your tray tables to their locked and upright positions, and prepare for landing."
"Hey, Hangman," Rooster smirked, "you look good."
"I am good, Rooster," Hangman said instantly. "I'm very good. I'll see you back on deck."
The two laughed as Hangman turned his plane around. "Come on, Mav," Rooster chuckled. "Let's get the hell out of this fossil."
"We're on our way, Maddy."
~ • ~
The Admirals quickly ran to the bridge as Hangman landed. Admiral Simpson grabbed some binoculars and watched the F-14 come into view of the ship.
"Maverick is downwind," Maverick told the ship. "No front landing gear. No tailhook. Pull the cable and raise the barricade."
"Foul deck! Foul deck! Raise the barricade!"
Maverick flew around as they got everything ready for them. Something exploded, making the whole plane shake.
"Please don't tell me we lost an engine," Rooster sighed.
"All right," Maverick cleared his throat, "I won't tell you that."
"Okay."
There was no turning back now so Maverick went ahead and landed on the boat. They landed rough, but the barricade caught them.
"You good?"
"Yeah," Rooster said. "I'm good."
Maddlyn looked up at Hondo with tears in her eyes. "Are they. . . Did they. . ."
Hondo walked over and kissed Maddlyn on the top of the head.
"They made it, kiddo," he whispered. "Let's get you to that tarmac and you can tell them how unbelievably stupid they were."
"I like that plan," Maddlyn said, her voice getting caught in her throat. "But I might need you to push me. My arms feel like Jello."
"I got you, kid."

now i have this image in my head of eddie going to buck and saying my kid is taller than me and being all :((( and buck comforting him or something i dunno
Eddie is not pouting.
He's got no reason to -- it's Chris' 18th birthday, a beautiful day, and his backyard is full of people eating and talking and laughing. Chris is having an absolute ball playing host, flitting from group to group -- Bobby and Athena, his art club friends, Maddie and Chim, Julie from his English class that he's "just talking to" -- with easy smiles and loud laughs. He remembers so vividly the quiet kid he brought to LA, how he clung to his hand on the first day at his new school, shyly waving at his new teacher. He was so small then, head barely at Eddie's elbow, and all he wanted to do in that moment was scoop him up and hold him close and never let him go. He didn't, of course, he told him he'd have fun meeting new people and making new friends, just barely holding himself together as he waved goodbye from the sidewalk.
But now it's 10 years later and his little boy isn't so little anymore. He's so proud of the man Chris is becoming that he could burst with it, but he still just wants to tuck him into his chest and hold him close, gangly limbs and all.
So, okay, he's a little nostalgic. Wistful, even. But he's definitely not pouting.
An arm around his waist and a press of lips to his temple shakes him out of his memories.
"You know," Buck says quietly, even though they're alone in this corner of the yard. "This is Chris' party, not yours. I don't think you get to cry even if you want to."
Eddie laughs and rolls his eyes, but Buck's still looking at him with that I know what's going on in your head better than you do look that Eddie's far too familiar with. He deflates a little, leaning into Buck's side.
Fine. Maybe he was pouting. But only a little.
"He's taller than me," Eddie sighs. "And he's 18 now, he's officially an adult. He's moving to college in six weeks and will start his own life and he won't need me anymore."
Buck squeezes his hip. "He may not be a kid anymore, but he's still your kid. He's always gonna need you."
He watches Julie throw her head back in laughter at something Chris says, grabbing his hand in joy. Chris grabs back with a matching, incandescent smile, and Eddie didn't know his heart could swell and break at the same time.
"Is it bad that I still wish he was eight years old sometimes?"
Buck hums. "I think every parent feels like that. But no matter how old he is, you're always gonna be his hero, and he's always gonna come to you for help or advice or just to share his life with. He was telling Julie all about that call in Runyon last week, made you sound like a superhero."
"It wasn't that crazy of a call."
"Doesn't matter. You're everything to him, you always will be. And everyone who knows him will know that too." Another squeeze to his hip. "You did an amazing job with him."
He turns to Buck, and kisses his cheek. "We did an amazing job."
Chris is back with his friends now, scanning the yard until his eyes fall on Eddie and Buck. He beams and weaves through the yard towards them, and Eddie's helpless but to beam back.
"Dad!" he says, stopping in front of them, glowing so bright with joy it's almost blinding. "Come here! Dylan wants to hear about the time you rode the truck to save that skydiving instructor!"
Chris grabs his hand and pulls him forward, and Eddie holds on tight. Like he always has. Like he always will.

Two Halves Are NOT Better Than One
When Danny's parents found out he was Phantom after a fight gone wrong, he thought they'd taken it surprisingly well. They apologized for shooting at him, helped patch him up, and sent him to rest. For a week, he heard nothing more about it.
And then he walked into his house, Sam and Tucker behind him, and was blasted in two.
Tucker caught the Human Danny, and Sam caught the Ghost Danny.
"Got 'im!" Jack pumps his fist with joy while Maddie lowers the gun, smiling.
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!"
"We saved Danny!" Jack gestures to the Human Danny. "Ghosts were after him because of his condition, so now they won't be!"
"But you split him in half! The last time this happened it was terrible!" Sam shakes Ghost Danny at them (he's very light of course, like a tuft of fuzz).
"Into a hippe slacker and an old cartoony superhero, right?" Jack says. "We prepared for that! His brain isn't split like that this time, don't worry!"
Sam and Tucker share a look. Yeah, they're still worried. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How many fingers am I holding up?"
Danny is frowning, arms crossed. "Three."
Maddie grins. "Perfect! Alright, now-"
"Mom. Give me back my ghost half."
"It's too dangerous, sweetie. But don't worry, your father is making sure it's also functioning right. And it'll stay with us until it's adjusted."
"He, Mom."
"Sure. He."
Jack nocks on the door, and slowly opens it. He has a sheepish grin. "So... you know how ghosts can go through walls? The good news is the Ghost has that power working just fine."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny slams his locker shut. "I feel worse than when Spectra was counseling everyone!"
"Because you can't phase out of lockers anymore?" Tucker asks.
"Because of all of it! I swear, I'm about one bad piece of luck away from-"
"Hey, Fen-Turd!" Dash picks up Danny by his shirt collar. "What's wrong with you? Miss your Nerd Club? Ha!"
Danny scowls. "Not in the mood today, Dash."
Dash drops him. "Not in the mood, huh? Then let's see who is!"
He grabs Tucker next. "Hey Drool-y! Let's see how you look with this stupid beanie stuffed down your throat- AHCK!"
Dash drops Tucker as Danny leaps to tackle him like a raccoon! Dash doesn't fall over, but screams and stumbles as Danny tries to take him down, completely clinging to his torso!
"AHHHHHHHH! GET HIM OFF OF ME! GET HIM OFF!"
"I'M GOING TO TAKE ALL MY RAGE OUT ON YOU!"
"NOOO! NOT A TASTE OF MY OWN MEDICINE! THAT FORTUNE TELLER WAS RIGHT!"
"... I think we need to find Phantom," Tucker says, watching Danny pull on Dash's hair.
"You think?" Sam snarks back, already grabbing the Thermos and a detector.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny kicks a pebble as they walk home grumbling.
"Danny, it's been like, hours. You need to chill."
"I can't chill, Tuck!" Danny kicks the pebble harder. "Mom and Dad think no powers means no ghosts, but these guys hate me for me! It's personal! I have no powers, no way to defend myself, no way to defend you guys or anyone else!"
"And no ice powers," Sam adds.
"AND NO ICE POWERS! I LITERALLY CANNOT CHILL!"
"Look, we'll find him." Sam pats her bag. "I grabbed your Thermos when you were mauling Dash-"
"I wasn't mauling."
"You bit him, dude."
"Once!"
"-but we didn't find him anywhere around the school. So you go inside and meditate or something, and we'll find Phantom."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They find him pretty easily. Not hard to miss a ghost boy lounging atop the Nasty Burger sign, stuffing his face.
"HEY!" Sam waves her arms. "PHANTOM!"
He looks down. "HI SAM!"
"COME DOWN HERE!"
"OKAY!" He flies down and wipes his mouth on his sleeve. "What's up?"
"Danny is losing his mind."
Phantom nods. "We're supposed to be one person. Plus, I have our Core." He taps his chest. "That's got to mess him up, haing this ripped out."
"So you'll come back with us?" Tucker dares t ask hopefully.
Phantom shrugs. "Sure."
Sam crosses her arms, eyeing him warily. "... Why're you being so easy about this?"
Phantom shrugs again. "I just don't feel like fighting."
Tucker's eyes go wide. He points. "Because you are Danny's Chill! You're the missing Chill!"
"Yeah, I just said that." He taps his Core again.
"No! I mean, yeah, but, you're his ability to be calm! Oh man Danny's parents are really reckless!"
Phantom nods, and then winces. "Oh, yeah. If I'm his Chill, then he's probably going to blow soon. We go through way too much stuff on the daily for him to be okay right now."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Danny, now calm down son-"
Danny shoots the laser again. "I'M GOING TO BREAK THAT THING!"
"It's a good weapon!" Maddie snaps from behind a table. "If more Halfas show up we ca save them too!"
Danny blows up another ghost hunting device. "I AM CLEARLY NOT DOING BETTER!"
"He's not wrong," jack points out while hiding behind the table.
"WE'VE GOT HIM!" Sam and Tucker sprint down, Phantom following lazily behind.
"Hi Danny." Phantom waves.
Danny waves back, very angry. "I'm blowing up the gun that did this to us!"
"Okay. But um, you've blown up a lot of stuff."
"I KNOW! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THIS THING!" Danny smacks the gun, making it fire again. "JUST- WORK, DARNIT!"
Phantom drifts over. "Let me see it. ... Maybe this is the auto-aim?"
"... Maybe," Danny huffs.
Phantom nods. "Let's see... here's the off button." Phantom presses it. "How come you didn't see it?"
"I was too frustrated," Danny says, scowling. Phantom pats Danny on the back.
"It's okay buddy. We've all been there. ... I guess I haven't, as a, separate being from you right now."
Jack ad Maddie peek out, watching the two halves of their son work together.
"So let's aim it like this-" Phantom helps lift the gun. "What're we shooting again?"
Danny points at the splitter. "That!"
"Oh, yeah."
They shoot it, blowing it to smithereens! They both look quite pleased.
"Wow, I hope that Skulker didn't hear that," Phantom says, sitting down.
"Um. Why?" Danny tenses.
"I saw him earlier. He tried to get me but I just went into the ground when he wasn't looking and got away."
"You didn't fight him?! What if he hurts other people!"
"Oh. I didn't think of that." Phantom puts his hand to his chin. "Huh."
"How did you not think of that?!"
"I wasn't worried about it."
"You should be!"
"Um, guys?" Tucker taps Danny's shoulder.
"You don't think of everything, either."
"I WOULDN'T MISS SOMETHING LIKE THAT!"
"Maybe separating them wasn't a good idea," Maddie says, tapping the table nervously.
"One brain, two boys." Jack rubs the back of his head. "I guess halving his soul had consequences, who could've guessed?"
"GUYS!" Tucker shouts. All eyes turn to him. "How're we going to put them back together?"
Silence.
"... Well." Phantom looks resigned.
"We're ruined." Danny sinks to his knees.
"I guess Passive Phantom and Danny Feral are here to stay." Sam sighs and looks at The Fenton parents. "Please tell me you ca fix this."
Jack moves his hand in the 'fifty-fifty chance' movement.
"Great."
"At least Dash isn't going to mess with us for a while," Tucker tries to joke.
"You're next if you mention it again," Danny growls. Phantom rubs Danny's back, and shakes his head at Tucker to let him know Danny was fibbing. Hopefully.
"Maybe now you'll seriously consider my suggestion of therapy?"
Everyone screams at Jazz's sudden appearance, except for Phantom. He just waves.
(Random joke fic, based on the idea of "What if Danny Without Powers was just a Feral Little Man who attacked Dash like a cartoon raccoon)

5x13 - Fears & Thoughts
Hoo boy! What an episode!
So Maddie and Chimney are done. Wow, I gotta be honest, I didn't see that coming. Just another thing feeling out of sorts this season. But...I'm curious to see where this goes.
Gotta say, I am so happy we had a Buck and Maddie moment. Finally!!!!! And Uncle Buck and Jee-Yun is so cute!
Love how the fear emergencies didn't just revolve around actual phobias but the common theme seemed to be 'trapped'. From being trapped in a cage in the ocean, waiting for the sharks aka doom, to being encased in a huge web-thing, waiting to be eaten. The woman who had no fear and felt like she had no other alternative than to end things because she couldn't feel afraid anymore. Just the overall theme of feeling trapped. And this is the very same episode we see Buck feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place with Taylor moving in, Chim being scared about leaving Maddie alone with Jee-Yun, Maddie afraid to go near the bathtub until she forces herself to confront her fear, Eddie in therapy being asked what scares him and then us seeing him have a breakdown when he finds out all of the soldiers he saved were dead & confessing to Buck that he's afraid he will never feel normal again, Taylor saying she feels like Buck trapped her by asking her to move in with him so she won't leave, Albert talking about how his job isn't exactly what he thought it would be -- all of it is just related to this one overall theme and I am loving it.
I'm also loving how Taylor is forcing Buck to change to her couch. How the boxes are all over the place and "we'll just have to cull as we unpack, we probably have two of everything", and Taylor can't even find forks for her and Buck to eat their dinner.
Not gonna lie, I feel a bit bad for Taylor. I don't hate her character like some do but it's becoming increasingly obvious that this relationship isn't endgame. "No more lies" and Buck still has yet to tell her that the woman he kissed was the new firefighter in his firehouse. I wonder when she will find that out and what her reaction will be. And is it me or are they purposely making Taylor fade into the background and acting like a naive, lackadaisical girlfriend who bums around the apartment all day, typing away on her laptop, and humming as she goes about? She's felt very off herself (just more of this season's overall theme of being off) and I feel like 5x13 is where we started to see just a little bit of her true character shine through (once Buck told her). And Buck telling Maddie "I do love her. You know, she's been there for me through you guys leaving and everything"...I kind of wish I could be that court reporter that reads back to him what he said earlier in the season: "That's not how you talk about someone you're in love with." Buck, my man, can you hear me? This is your conscience speaking, stop dragging Taylor through this and realize this relationship isn't what you want! They're literally beginning to dismantle it in the show right before your very eyes!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Buck forcing his way into the room Eddie is locked in...what imagery! That coupled with "You're the guy who likes to fix things." I see you, 911. Very interesting analogy you got there.
Did Buck really just call Lucy Firefigher Donato? Didn't Buck try to figure out a new nickname for Eddie back when he arrived at the 118 even though he wasn't a fan at first? I know Buck is trying to put distance there with Lucy for obvious reasons but damn what a contrast they purposely gave us in this setup.
Not gonna lie, I really thought Buck and Eddie were going to hug when Buck saw Eddie sobbing on the floor, but my hopes were thwarted, dashed, went up in smoke. Buck's reaction to me felt slightly off. We've seen his reaction whenever Eddie is in physical danger but it almost seemed as if he didn't know what to do in the face of this breakdown. I know Eddie is usually the guy who keeps everything in control like Bobby has said, but I don't know...it just felt slightly off to me. But it was a great scene though! And of course, my heart hurt for Eddie. I truly hope by him opening up to Buck about this, by seeing that Frank was right about how when the box exploded it would not only affect him but everyone around him, that he truly takes care of himself and is more open-minded to the idea of him continuing therapy (and asking for help when needed). I also wonder if this is going to somehow lead into Eddie coming back to the 118 now that Buck knows what bad shape Eddie is in and why, especially with him being "the guy who likes to fix things" and being concerned about Chris.
I also think it's a very interesting sort of parallel that we have now of Eddie exploding on Ana and Bobby and the whole "I already apologized for that." All related to Eddie's anger and "I was upset." We've also seen him explode on Buck before, but the contrast there is that we saw Eddie work it out with him, we weren't just told about it. Very interesting, indeed.
I'm really curious to see what happens in the next episode. Gotta say I'm slowly starting to feel like my 911 is coming back, slowly but surely. 5A was a bit rough. Oh, and if I ever look up what all of the 1st episode animal symbolism is again for a future season, feel free to tell me to shut it. I will slap my own hands. I feel like I was stupid and predicted how out of step the 118 was going to be, how the family was going to break up, but I never anticipated just how much. I was excited seeing it come to fruition but then I immediately put the car in reverse, shaking my head and going "not this! not ever this!" as the season progressed.
So, I'm really glad that Maddie is back as is Chim, and we're starting to course correct a bit.

Ahhh okay. I have a few ideas!
1.
Danny tries to integrate back into his old way of living
At first starts off slow like falling more often since he can't just float, late more often cause he cant just fly, bumps into things more often cause he cant just faze thru things
Then he doesn't know when ghosts are coming anymore
One sec he's bored in class the next skulker is in class shooting ecto-beams at him and all danny can do is run and hope for the best
Johnny will come by to mess with him but danny cant defend himself without his powers besides even Plasmius has mentioned how he usually just throws his powers around. Danny isn't properly trained in how to fight, he was just a kid with a fuck ton of powers to blast out. He doesn't have that anymore
Danny is never comfortable anymore. He doesn't know when the next ghost attack is coming, he cant hear when dash is coming around the corner, he is always missing that cold center that was always buzzing just beneath the surface
He gets involved with his parents tech more, making ghost signals, wearing protective ghost tech like the belt and carrying around ecto guns, ect
He asks his mom to teach him how to fight. He teaches his parents about ghosts to help with their inventions.
He starts to follow in the family business but its never enough. Because while Jack and Maddie do what the do out of love for the paranormal, Danny does what he does out of fear
Danny wakes up screaming shooting weapons out into the nothing from flashbacks and knowing he no longer has phantom to protect him
He dives dipper and dipper into his parents studies trying to ensure he's safe. He even tries to replicate some of his previous abilities but its not enough
The tech can be defective, he can forget it at home, he can fiddle with the trigger in panic, the ecto gun can get stuck in his bag he can struggle to reach for his weapon in battle. The fear eats him alive
He can't take those risks. So he inserts the tech into his body. He makes ecto-guns that shoot out his hands like when he was phantom, adds tech to let him fly, to detect ghosts ect.
But his parents haven't always had perfect tech, danny was too scared to wait around for testing and testing and more testing, he just needed to be safe
It kills him, some wires get crossed, some technological difficulties, something leads to the tech exploding, some tech fault leads to danny loosing his life, again
But this time he won't be a halfa, this time he won't have the wide range of emotions Technus always went on about, or the wide range of goals like when he was phantom. When he was phantom he was still half human, not fully bound to the dead, not fully bound to an obsession
But he wasn't a halfa anymore. He was a ghost hunter, a ghost who hunted others not for the thrill, not for the chase like Skulker. He hunted and killed ghosts, took away their abilities just how the giw took his
He hunted and killed humans. First it was the giw, but soon he'd realize everyone allowed for it to happen. Everyone knew Fenton was a halfa and they let the giw take that ghost half away from him. He would get revenge.
When he saw clockwork again it was not a harsh tone nor a happy one, just disappointed as he looked at the boy he thought he could save, "I'm sorry Dan, but it seems like I couldn't save you from this path afterall."
Other ideas include:
2.
Danny going insane trying to get his ghost half back to the point if jumping back into the portal, infecting himself with pure ectoplasm, attempted suicide, ect. until his parents just send him into a mental health facility that make him question if phantom ever actually existed or it was all just in his head (think like moon knight vibes with the ambiguity of the powers and ghost being real or imaginary)
3.
Something from Vlad's point of view of becoming the 1st halfa all alone and the only one of his kind until he stumbles across the only other human born then turned halfa. He wants to train the new halfa, give him the things Vlad wanted when he was a new baby halfa not knowing how to use his powers and trying to navigate the new and unexplored realm of halfas by himself. Trying to give this only other of his kind the things he would have given up the world for. The younger halfa betrays him and works against him despite his helping hand and Vlad returns the favor. That is until the little halfa is discovered and the world of pathetic humans decides to take away his halfa status and turn him back into a helpless and powerless pathetic human like the rest of them. Seeing how such a cruel world will find a naive powerful child and destroy it just because they can. Because power is something the humans fear. Vlad is a loney bachelor, but because he cannot let himself be stooped down by human relationships and friendships, look at where that put his kind, Danny kept his humans friends and in the end the humans betrayed him. Danny trusted humans and lived among them and they betrayed him. Danny did nothing but put himself at risk to protect them and they destroyed him. Is Vlad a bitter old man who looks down on everyone else? Is Vlad forever destined to be alone? Yes, because look at what hope and friendship does to his kind, it destroys them. (Idk i find the concept very poetic and can bring up a lot of cool themes. Especially if paired up with one of the above ideas. Idk I like it)
After being revealed and arrested by the Guys in White, they surprisingly didn’t torture or experiment on him. Instead, they completely removed his ghost half, “cured” him of being a halfa, and that, somehow, was a hundred times worse.
#danny phantom#dp#dp fic#dp fic ideas#my random ideas#ngl the last is prob my fav#fun fact i cant write#so ideas it be motherfuckers#hope you enjoyed#or not#not my problem if you hate it#clockwork#dan#danny going crazy#love the idea of danny still turning into dan in some dif way#also love the concept of vlad's pov#like yeah he's some fucking pathetic loser who can't get over a college crush#but at least he was right about not trusting humans with his ghost half#also just love the idea of a morally not okay thing a villain does working#not like kill people to save planet bullshit#but like the movie whiplash or vlad looking down on humans technically saving him from having his ghost half removed#also giving loss of innocence and humans fear of the unknown making them dangerous#anyway I'm ranting#love danny going crazy tho#just a hero who gives up everything to protect the people even their own sanity#did not reread so if spelling or grammer errors...good

The Dwellers
Prompt: For years, Aaron has dealt with his second life as a vampire. Living life with his second family, The McKnights, and complaining his worthiness of love from another. His sister, Maddie, told him of a prediction of a girl that could be his love. Nearly giving up on hope, Aaron saves a girl from a trio of muderous vampires and takes her home to heal. Is this the girl his sister Maddie predicted?
Aaron's Story
What am I? When you look at me, you may see a handsome guy around seventeen or eighteen years of age. You think, "This guy's got a big future ahead of him." When I look in the mirror, I don't know exactly what to see.
A monster, a devil, a demon of some sort! Some creature with bright golden eyes; lips as red as the nearest rose outside in your garden. An ice cold clamey touch, and skin as white as the wet paint in your guestroom down the hall.
This thing that craws in search for blood, but not on the mortal living. You think you got it hard? Why don't you switch places with me. I wasn't always this way. Oh no. I was human once until I got sick in 1915.
I was born in San Francisco, California in 1898. I don't remember much but what I have written down in my journals. My memories have tended to fade as time as past. So I can remember that part I was sure to jot it down.
I remember a beautiful brunette with the most wonderful pair of blue eyes. My biological mother. I wish I could remember her name. My eyes were once blue as the Caspian Sea. Not anymore. I can't just glimpse in the mirror and remember.
I have her diamond wedding ring hanging on a silver chain that's on my neck all the times. I never take it off. The only thing of her I have. She died in 1915. The same year I was supposed to die. She died weeks before I caught the disease.
When I finally got the red flu, I was ready to perish. I had nothing to live for in this world. All I loved was buried with my beloved mother. No living family. As I lay there dying, the doctor wasn't giving up on me that easily. I wanted this suffering pain to end and quickly. The doctor said that he could give me a quick and easy way to live young and forever.
At first, I thought he was speaking of heaven. Then I thought it was a fool's dream. Then I thought myself a fool because I said, "Yes, please help me."
There was a sharp burning pain in my neck like firey needles injecting deadly poison in the veins. I thought the red flu was fatal until I met Dr. Alec McKnight.
"What am I? What have you done to me?" I cried not even reconizing my own voice.
Alec turned me into a series generation vampire. I wanted to hate him, kill him! I had the strength but not the heart to vanquish him. For a new sensation taken over me. My taste had changed along with my appearance.
He wasn't the monster I believed these creatures to be. Alec taught me that all vampires were not the same. Most of us were able to fit in society. Alec brought me into his home as his family. Alec had a beautiful wife named Padmè. In life, Padmè had lost a lot like I had before my transformation. Padmè and Alec both considered me an adopted son. Over the years, I saw them both as my parents. Feeling the hole in my heart for parental love I desired. The parents I never knew I needed. Although I remembered the gorgeous blue eyed brunette, I saw Padmè as a second mother.
Years passed and our family became larger. Our next addition to the clan was Gwen, the strawberry blonde with an attitude to match her hair. Gwen was my first little sister. Then we got Jonathan. Gwen safes Jonathan for herself. At times, they reminded me of Padmè and Alec some what.
Last but not least, Madison and Montgomery. My two youngest siblings who came from somewhere up North to find our family. Madison is somewhat of a psychic. She seen in Augusta, Maine and they came to meet us. We've been family ever since.
Yes, Alec, Padmè, Gwen, Jonathan, Madison, Montgomery, and I. Come and go as we please. We've traveled all over the world. London, Paris, Russia, Milan, Egypt and everywhere in between. But we love to stay on the Pacific Coast of the United States in Northern Oregon.
We dwell in the woods, but come in town to shop for clothes or Madison will pitch a fit. If we shop in town, we more than likely would take Johnny's Hummer. Maddie, Montgomery, Gwen, Johnny, and I can fit in the hummer. No problem.
Other than the clothes, Maddie always trys to find a mate for me. Darling Maddie, forever the optimist. I try to tell her it's not that simple. That's why I don't go with her all the time to town. Padmè says that we all have someone out there for us. I just haven't found her yet.
Maddie claims that she has seen her. A beautiful brunette with milk chocolate eyes. If she is at all right, I'll be waiting for the chocolate brunette.
Today my siblings went to town without me. I decided to stay home with Padmè then go out for hunt. Maybe kill a lion or two. I always start hunting after dark.
I attacked a mountain Lion and a few deer, but nothing captured my attention more than the scent coming from beyond the trees. This fragrance so beautiful from anything I smelled before. The scent lingered in the air and impacted my lungs in such a way I was nearly overwhelmed. A scent this strong has to be from a human. No animal smells that delicious. I would never kill the person but I couldn't stay away I had to get a closer look.
Just the thought of being closer made me thirsty. The pain in my throat ached for satisfaction. As I was about to turn around to return home, this sharp scream came from beyond the trees along with the scent. It was a young girl. If she was in trouble I wasn't about to let her die.
I raced through the forest until I came upon this voice, a vampire's voice. Only a vampire's voice could sound so threatening and so pitched with a sugar melody. Kind but deadly. The girl wasn't dead just yet. I could her heartbeat. She was afraid.
"So? Where do we start dinner first?", the dark headed vampire said slyly.
"The neck looks satisfying master." And just as they were about to take a drink of innocent blood, "No!" I yelled as I leaped into attack mode. Hitting and clawing in each direction that the evil vampires came at me.
I guess I was a little too much for them. They run away and I believe I injured one. Before it was too late, I remembered the frightened brunette nearly lifeless on the ground.
I moved quickly to her aid. That scent. That intoxicating scent made my blood boil. I wanted this girl's blood so much. I haven't wanted human blood this much since I first transformed into a vampire. Her scent was something all new to me. It smelt like some sort of natural scent. Shea and Cocoa butter.
The vampires who nearly killed her, injured her pretty badly. They injected enough venom in her body to become paralyzed. Just enough to knock her unconscious until they were finished with her.
She was so beautiful. The reason they wanted her in the first place. I need to get her some help before she died from the venom. We were about ten miles away from the house. With my speed I could get her help and be home in less than five minutes. She shivered my touch as I cradled her like a newborn in my arms.
"Alec!" I cried. "Help!"
As fast as they ran I knew they thought I was the one hurt. I held the girl's lifeless body in my dead, cold arms.
"Aaronington, what have done?" said Padmè.
"I saved her. Please no one argue with me. We need to saved her. Venom is running through her veins." I said.
"Did you do this?" Alec asked in fear.
"No" I answered.
"Do you think you can save her?" Maddie asked.
"She can be saved" Alec said.
He put an I.V. in her arm with a cleasing saline and said that she needed her rest.
"When she awakens she needs to eat so she may become well again" Alec said.
"I'll go prepare the guestroom for our new human friend" Padmè said making her way up stairs. "Come Madison. Gwen. Let us prepare her room."
As everyone left the room, I found myself once again alone with my new human friend. It was nice to know that she was going to live. I was still solving the mystery of this girl. The beautiful creature lying in front of me. Lifeless but also gorgeous. Her face a pretty oval shape. Her hair was of course dark nearly auburn but not exactly. Her hair more dark brown, curly, and nearly down her shoulders. Her lips full. I'd say more than average. Her skin light brown. Her eyes were the true mystery. As if they were hiding from me.
"Alec, the venom is out of her system" I said.
"Bring her up!" Alec requested.
I placed her motionless body in my arms and gently carried her to the guestroom where she would be safe until she awakened.
