OH MY GOSH DON'T APOLOGIZE I literally love getting asks about hockey AU I'm fucking nuts about it. There's nothing I love more than other people showing interest in my story dude!!! ask as many things as you want I promise I will love to answer everything.

Jack isn't up to much in this AU, at least not much on Nico's side. When I get around to rewriting Percy's side he's much more relevant (Jack is like Percy's Snowy, except the dynamic is different). Jack keeps quiet track of Nico, keeps an eye on him and all that (we'll see in upcoming chapters that Jack is the one who understands Nico and his freakouts the most, and is the one who can calm him down the easiest because of it).

He doesn't know a lot about Nico because he doesn't really know how to approach Nico. He and Bitty have had many conversations about what to do about homophobes now that they have a pretty openly gay player on the team - Nico isn't out, but he doesn't really hide his sexuality, either. So Jack tends to try and take care of things behind the scene, like if he hears that there's a homophobic staff member, or if he hears another player talking shit, he deals with it before it can become a problem for Nico. Because of Jack's own deal with his family, he tries not to pry too much into Nico's, but he has noticed that Nico didn't have anybody come to the traditional NHL mother or father days, and that Nico doesn't really talk about his family much unless prodded to by reporters.

Jack's opinion of Jason is...difficult. Jack and Parse see Nico and Jason as mini versions of themselves, because the two of them are still working some shit out. Since Jason's mentor is Parse, Jack automatically assumes that Jason is bad news for Nico, because Parse was bad news for him when he was Nico's age. So, at this current moment in the AU, Jack suspects that something is going on between Jason and Nico but he doesn't know how to approach Nico about it without making things worse. Jack is tentative and on the fence about him, but never outright rude or hostile or anything. But he definitely doesn't think the two of them should be seeing each other, and even thinks that them being friends is only going to end poorly.
