Now that I realize it, we can connect the sudden uptake of chaos in the tfp au timeline to it being directly after them forcing Unicron back into dormancy, and the possible effects of dark energon on the multiversal level (and possibly the whole unicron singularity thing just absolutely ripping the shit out of the fabric of reality, causing super weird reality wrinkles and likely the other extradimensional figures in the mix trying to repair them)
