Sephiroth meets Fecto Elfilis from Kirby.

I mean they're similar characters so why not?

Somewhere, hidden among the stars, deep within the infinite swirls and ribbons of space, a very indolent Sephiroth floats languidly amid the stillness. His eyes are closed, his legs crossed, two leather arms folded comfortably behind his head. He is so comfortable, in fact, that he hardly even notices when he bumps against another floating figure—a toothpaste-teal colored creature with exceptionally large ears and jagged antlers.

Sephiroth: Ah. Pardon me, mysterious elephant one. I am not used to encountering others on this side of the cosmos. Are you too enjoying the fine lack of weather today?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: I see, I see. Simply traveling. Well, elephant one, you look like one of interesting origin. Do tell, what brings you here?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: Dimensional conquest, you say? What a charming coincidence! I happen to dabble in the fine art of planetary conquest myself.

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: Indeed, it is quite the thrilling hobby. Have you had any successes lately?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: …Your plans were foiled, you say?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: You had it all figured out?

Sephiroth: Finally escaped your captivity, successfully brainwashed the land’s most powerful residents?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: What? Pink gumball? Kidney beans for feet? Transformed into flying 6-wheeled automobile?

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: Ah, I see. You have my deepest sympathies, elephant friend. I too know what it is like to have years of hardworking, calculated, ingenious planning crumble beneath me because of one infuriating variable who couldn’t simply stew in the fact and depression that his mother was dead and that his dreams were lies and couldn’t simply listen to his master had to go and overcome that trauma I so beautifully instilled and ACTUALLY ACCEPTED IT AND GREW AS A GODFORSAKEN PERSON—

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: …Ahem. My apologies, that wasn’t like me, I am typically a very composed individual.

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: Why thank you, friend. I wish that your adversary meets a calamitous demise as well.

Sephiroth feels his head vibrate like a cell phone.

Sephiroth: Oh, pardon me. It appears our conversation will have to end here; I can hear my Mother calling. She can be quite moody when I don’t respond.

Fecto E:

Sephiroth: No, no. She is much more gelatinous than I.

Sephiroth bows his head, a slight smirk-smile budding as his chin lifts again.

Seohiroth: It was a pleasure, elephant one. Until we meet again.

The man floats on by then, proceeding back in the direction of wherever the heck Home is. Fecto watches him go, contemplative, insect eyes tracing the slender silver shape until Sephiroth is completely swallowed by the cosmic sea.

Fecto E: …Why the f*ck did he keep calling me an elephant?

How did you come up with roleswap Elfilis' design? It's really cool!

Hi! Thank you so much! :D I'd love to share my thought process! Gather round the armchair by the fireplace, friends! It's story time!

I've said before that the Forgotten Land Roleswap started off as a doodle that swapped Dedede and Bandana Dee's roles as Player 2 and the Brainwashed Beast. But when I realized how fun that one little change was, how about EVEN MORE changes? That's how my one-time doodle turned into the full AU story. I swapped Meta Knight and Kirby, Clawroline and Leongar, and Sillydillo and Gorimondo- and because the story is so Waddle-Dee centric, I promoted Dedede to "Player 1" since the stakes would be higher for him as their King.

So now I had a story that had a lot of opposite traits to canon and I wanted to explore that further! When it came to the matter of Elfilin, I thought he would probably behave too similarly towards Dedede and Meta as he did to Kirby and Bandee. He'd be friendly and trusting, communicative, optimistic, knowledgeable, and cooperative. So how about providing them a travel companion who is defensive, has trouble communicating, a little wild, uninformed about themselves and the world around them, and has a bit of a temper?

But working with all these opposite traits didn't feel in-character for Elfilin anymore. So my natural next step was to swap Elfilin with Elfilis and make a new version of the Forgotten Land's lost little pup!

Enough yapping about the context behind my decisions, tho. How'd I come up with Roleswap Elfilis' design?

I see you out there, Fecto Forgo fans. Maybe somebody out there's thought, "Roleswap Elfilis does not look like them! Why not? That's what the other 50% of the Ultimate Life Form looks like! I demand justice for the angry glowing rat fetus!"

Maybe nobody has ever thought this. But I wonder sometimes lol

Your feelings are valid, friends. Please lemme explain my reasonings.

This fella, to me, is the abandoned wet specimen left to float in a jar for who-knows-how-long after a forcible physical and mental separation via spatial teleportation shenanigans. And I think part of their appearance is due to their role as the trapped and forgotten half.

The role of the half that got away fully formed his own body and inherited some traits from the complete being-

For Elfilin in canon, he got ears that are proportionally huge compared to the rest of his body, blue eyes that sparkle with the light of a thousand destroyed planets, a tiny bit of pink fur for his adorable blushies, and a really long fluffy tail. Maybe becoming a being free of chaos gave him those sweet eyes like Kirby and the Waddle Dees have.

My reasoning is that whichever half ends up escaping the Lab and fully forming their own body, they would carry the major physical traits the other wouldn't inherit.

Anyway, that left Elfilis with the horns, colorful and expressive eyes, whiskers, beige chest fluff, opposable thumbs, and pink tummy fur.

Elfilin gets the long tail in the bodily divorce so Elfilis has a short stubby little cotton tail like a bunny. Like if he ended up with just the very tip of the Ultimate Life Form's tail.

Behold this diagram above I came up with two years ago! Disclaimer: the canon Elfilin is the one in the chart. And I draw him a little differently these days lol. I ain't showing anyone how he ended up in the Roleswap yet tho!!!! >:0

But Roleswap Elfilis is more than just "baby version of the Ultimate Life Form..."

All the differences in the Forgotten Land Roleswap from canon stem from one event in the timeline. One change that I added to the events that were already supposed to take place. It's why the Ultimate Life Form split differently. Why the Beasts have different roles and aesthetics. Even why the portal took Bandana Dee and Kirby before Meta Knight and King Dedede.

How did that saying go again? The flap of wings somewhere can influence a bunch of huge changes somewhere else down the line...? What was the name of that theory again....? Hmm. Not important, I guess.

Fecto Elfilis the Ultimate Life-Form

Well, now I'm curious about Fecto Elfilis. What's their deal?

Have a quick summary of their backstory in my version of things ~

Elfilis is an entity that was artificially created by the technology faction of the ancients, the Fectos, using the DNA of several animal species to birth the ultimate life-form. They were full of energy, so much energy that going zoomies at home wasn't enough to satisfy their needs so they would travel through space until they became tired enough.

Often they'd bring home gifts, commonly the remains of a slain beast or horror. The gifted material aided the Fectos in the development of their machines, which soon allowed them to follow Elfilis on their travels.

Upon ageing and requiring increased amounts of energy to feel satisfied Elfilis began to take on bigger foes, taking out entire armies which allowed the Fectos to conquer more territory all across the galaxy. At one point Elfilis came across Halcandra, which, at the time, was under the sole rule of the magic faction of the ancients, the Photrons, and attempted to conquer the planet together with the Fecto army.

The war ended in a draw and the leaders of both factions agreed to work together, which was something Elfilis was vehemently against. They didn't wish to share the battlefield with anyone. When Sir Arthur of the Fectos and Morpho Knight of the Photrons created the GSA, Elfilis refused to join, preferring their own army.

After the Photrons lost their leader and were severely compromised by Sir Arthur's betrayal of both factions, Elfilis decided to use the weakened state of the other faction to their advantage. After the Galactic Crisis was overcome, Elfilis was on the forefront when it came to banishing the remaining Photron to the edge of the galaxy.

Sometime after that they met Galacta Knight in their dreams, who begged them to break his seal. They declined and a fierce battle ensued that sent them through time and space until they landed on the planet that would become their involuntary home for the next 30 years. Elfilis attempted and failed to conquer the planet in their weakened state and was captured. The rest is history.

Alright sooo basically the void can reincarnate itself differently based on the emotions it feels when it’s developing

Most of them are evil, because they were born of dark matter and negative emotions. But Kirby was born of positive emotions! Making him the cute puffball we know today.

Now this is related to the grim reaper!

Basically, there’s this being called morpho knight

Morpho knight has some information given on him when a collectible is found in the game, which describes him like this:

“The fluttering fiend that casts judgement upon final battles is drawn toward the isolated isles of Forgo Dreams. There, it feasts on the most powerful soul it finds and takes the fearsome form of a scarlet-clad knight... Let the most challenging battle of this new world begin!”

He doesn’t have many appearances in the games, but is described as being very powerful, and consumes the “ultimate life form”, also known as fecto elfilis (in game screenshots shown below)

However, morpho knight in his butterfly form is constantly shown around or landing on Kirby in art and games (he consumes people by landing on them as a butterfly), and is unable to consume him, since he is an incarnation of the void, which morpho knight is not shown to be able to consume.

So there it is, Kirby’s immortality explained!

Fecto Elfilis

Elfilin's natural species, Idrelian, lives in a high magic world and fly around with levitation. This allows the males of the species to have absurdly big and fancy display features, since weight isn't as much of an issue. The females (lower left) are more plain, with smaller ears, lack of horns and side of face structures, and reduced caruncles, along with lack of neck floof and a more faded belly marking. Since it wouldn't be good for a species to laser blast rivals to death constantly(too risky for both combatants), the males settle for display features and posturing to compete with each other.

I believe Facto Forgo is some version of a zeroid ish lifeform. Elfilin/Elfilis(?) (Was that even his original name?) seeked power and made an alliance with it, increasing his power. This life form fused with Elfilin. Its then wanting to consume everything leads me to believe that its method of power increase is similar to Marx's, using absorbed energy to stabilize and increase magic amount pulled in from micro rifts. Their journey began a relatively short time ago, and, coming from a low tech planet, he saw a low magic planet and assumed it would be an easy first conquest, but did not yet understand the power of advanced technology. How else would you explain how the Forgotten Land civilization was able to capture it at their apparent technological level? ("Ultimate Life Form". "The Great One". Lmao settle down buddy you're nothing in the grand scheme of things.) If not stopped, they presumably would have eventually returned to the Idrelian home world and absorbed them all after it became strong enough to fight them all.

Forgotten Land's civilization (It's Earth, but a parallel universe version of it), due to the nature of magic and their low to none magic world, are unable to actually learn its worm hole magic, but by studying its effects, are eventually able to duplicate it with technology. This time at Lab Discovera fractured his mind, resulting in the separation of Elfilin and Fecto Forgo/Elfilin's old self. Elfilin manifested as a form resembling a juvenile Idrelian(ears are on the big side for his apparent age). Fecto Forgo is unable to remain stable for long without a host soul and began reverting to its base physical form. They put it in stasis somehow. Idk. At their technological level and not knowing much about magic I'm not sure how they figured it out. Or maybe in my au it was just a blob in the tank. They believed the wormholes could take them to higher realms, so they all left for this supposed realm. Where they went and what happened to them is unknown. Elfilin had a hard time after his magic ran out(no Forgo so no magic generation), so its a miracle he survived. Luckily the cities were pretty safe and well stocked with food.

The Forgotten Lands world actually fluctuates in magic amount over time, and if the civilization had waited a while longer, they would have seen the reoccurrence of a higher magic period. Many lifeforms were able to rapidly readapt due to old hidden genes reactivated(there's a scientific term for the reactivation of old ancestral genes but I don't remember what it is). Elfilin was able to levitate again. He has kept some of the abilities he had during his time possessed by Forgo. Also that spear is still around.

Forgo escapes into a pocket dimension. It seems to have features of both physical reality and mind reality. Its also technically part of Forgo, as a semi physical manifestation of Forgo's mind. It is weakening Leongar's soul to make him a suitable host. Kirby stops that. Forgo, in a weakened state, is predated upon by a type of soul absorbing entity. It tries to carry out Forgo's last wish to destroy Kirby. Its defeated, allowing Forgo to turn the tables on who's absorbing who and reassert control, becoming Chaos Elfilis. Kirby wins again, and Forgo is destroyed once and for all.

I'm thinking after he reunited with the small portion of his old self that wanted forgiveness, he started growing again, in age and in power as he ages. Maybe he can relocate his home world, though how would they react to this child so advanced in skill at his apparent age?
