rant under cut due to length and me just being petty about tumblr's love of 'progressive' purity culture. (note: vague mentions of csa and incest are made. no details are given beyond that shit happened. don't get mad at me for talking about it.)

i've been in a friends discord watching someone play uhhh. . . what is it, the adventures of andy and leyley? the recent early access rpg maker game with two siblings who are definitely into each other and they get into demonic shit and there's cannibalism and stuff too. i gotta say. . . people who say its all for shock value clearly don't remember the late 2000s to mid 2010s era of rpg maker horror games.

let me get one thing straight: it is nothing compared to what people make it to be. the writing is genuinely good, the story is interesting. and while the main characters are codependent and abusive and awful people? They're human as fuck and interesting to follow. It is indeed edgy. it would've been eaten up and adored by the emo and scene masses in the late '00s/early '10s. and in terms of incest? its not fucking explicit. could it become more explicit in the future as they update it? of course! but whatever. its not the entire story, nor is it even close to that.

so, i imagine some people on here will be saddened to hear i've found something to enjoy in such 'filth.' think of the children who have been put through abuse and incest! and to that i say this:

i was put through abuse in an incestuous way as a child. the people who cry for purity in media are the people who looked down on me for it happening even though i was the clear victim. they're the people who refused to give me grace and understanding. and they certainly did not help my family as we all went through the grief that comes when being put through such a situation.

'think of the children!' then you turn around and put your fingers in your ears when it actually happens around you, refusing to understand the scope of the problem. bah.

i forgave my abuser because i understood that they were autistic to the point that they did not understand how this shit was inappropriate. Once they were given proper behavioral therapy, they were horrified by their actions. i refuse to forgive those who vilify media like it is the demon in this situation because you're all so up your own asses that you can't see the light.

i get it. you want an easy solution and something to blame. don't we all? but life isn't fucking black and white like that. getting rid of media you don't agree with does nothing but make it easier for oppressed voices to be oppressed further. by pushing this sort of ideology you're allowing extremists to weaponize queer media and shut it down.

so go fuck a cactus and learn to fucking chill. i'll be having fun studying pieces of media i enjoy.

Growing up, I never really felt safe

A lot of crime happened to me and my family

Our house got robbed multiple times - one of the times they took everything

Uhhh not to mention csa

As well as my abuser mom doing all this hinky shit, like committing all these financial crimes (against me, even!)

So the point is, I also grew up being forced to watch true crime whenever my parents would dump me at my grandma's house

And I deadass thought that the way I would die...was via murder. That one day someone would break in (again) but this time have the intent to murder me.

I've gotten a lil better about this fear! Kinda, idk I'm still agoraphobic 😹 but:

1. I now know how to defend myself, try to play me bitch I'll drag you to hell with me

Idk that's just a lil insight about me 🖤👻

2. True crime is now just a regular special interest that I enjoy learning about, instead of being paralyzed with fear while watching it. Yeah I'm fascinated by it - take what you want from that lol I'm not a psych

ETA: I realized two (other) things

1. This kinda goes along with the whole "making peace with going to hell" thing - I had just accepted it

2. I genuinely believed when I was younger that everyone died by murder 🤔 obviously I know that isn't true now 😹

i see a lot of people saying draikinator defending child porn but I've only seen tweets of them being against it and they seem to despise pedophiles and I can't find anything about them defending cp so I was wondering if you could link some proof? Putting under a cut because I’m gonna explain the situation I’m talking about! Trigger warning for transphobia and mentions of explicit content containing underage characters.

When their friend, Angel Hawk/Pumpkin Claws was exposed for drawing p*rn of a 14 year old character and labeling it offensive transphobic terms (h*rm, f*ta, and d*ckgirl), Draikinator defended them because they were desperate for money and young (they were 19 at the time - but they were still an adult and it’s very disturbing to me that for some reason literal transphobic cp is excusable because they were “young” when they were..an adult. there’s no excuse.) Angel Hawk then said they felt sorry about what they drew but only deleted/took down the picture when they were caught: their transphobic p*rnographic picture of a 14 year old character was left up for other pedophiles to consume and potentially use to groom minors. If they had been sorry, they would’ve taken it down waaaay before people caught them.

Draikinator also told a CSA victim to “shut the fuck up” when they came forward to express discomfort with Draikinator’s au that featured Thistleclaw as Spottedleaf’s older brother – I understand that Draikinator has the same trauma but telling other CSA victims to shut the fuck up because they’re expressing genuine discomfort with an au that features a victim of pedophilia having a positive relationship with her abuser is uhhh idk yikes to me? anyways.
