According to Thomas Fuller, the devil lies brooding in the miser’s chest. Rod Stewart said that a person has to have a burning desire in the chest to succeed. And then there’s Erma Bombeck, who quipped, “What’s with you men? Would hair stop growing on your chest if you asked directions somewhere?”
An overweight man or out-of-shape bodybuilder might have pecs that move and look like flabby breasts. A female stevedore or competitive swimmer might develop a muscular torso that appears more masculine than feminine.
In several areas of this post I created separate headings for chests and breasts. However, you might prefer to apply words differently, sometimes for comedic effect.
When considering descriptors, pay attention to opinion adjectives and how they affect point of view.
Emotion Beats
Before reviewing the following beats, note that he crossed his arms across his chest can be shortened to he crossed his arms.
Many readers will associate a puffed-out chest with aggression or arrogance, but they might not see a clear association with delight or determination. Ensure suitable context for vague emotion beats.

Scents
Exposure to many substances will cause a person’s chest to retain the aroma, often affecting first impressions.
If a woman, who has referred to herself as a “single virgin” in a matchmaking app, arrives with the smells of baby powder and spit-up emanating from her cleavage, her prospective date might suspect she isn’t telling the truth. A CEO whose chest smells like wet dog might trigger a sneezing fit and subsequent avoidance by a prospective investor.

Nouns, Both Chests and Breasts
N to T Nipples, pecs, pectorals, thorax
Refer to the next two sections as well for suitable nouns.
Nouns, Chests Only
You might (usually in poetry or older works) find breast used as a replacement for chest, as in: He beat upon his breast.
Compared to the plethora of slang and vulgar terms coined by authors for breast(s), I discovered a dearth of similar words for chest. Prompt for an opinion editorial, perhaps?
B to T Breast, Chewbacca sweater, gorilla torso, lung carpet, man boobs, manpelt, manssier-stuffer, muscleini, rib cage, thorax, torso, trunk
Find more words by googling slang terms for chest.
Nouns, Breasts Only
If your character is an uncouth jerk, you might be able to get away with using some of the rude words of this section in dialogue. Otherwise, you’ll invite the ire of readers. As Shakespeare’s Falstaff said, “Discretion is the better part of valor.”
If you need more offensive words, google derogatory terms for breasts or offensive names for breasts.
B to F Bazookas, boobs, bosom, bra stuffers, breast-o-raunts, bust, buzzums, casabas, chesticles, chi-chis, cleavage, Daddy’s playground, double-Ds, flotation devices

When most people think of a garden, they envision neat rows of vegetables. However, a single-row garden layout doesn’t make the most efficient use of space, nutrients, or time.
Plus, not every home gardener has enough land to plant a space-hungry single-row garden. For very small spaces, your best choice might be a container garden on a sunny patio.
If your soil is poor, consider implementing the sheet mulching method or a raised-bed garden. Space-saving ideas include using a biointensive garden or wide-row garden for in-ground, planting in a square-foot system, or raising vegetables vertically.
If you have trouble bending down to pull weeds and pick vegetables, a raised-bed garden, such as a keyhole (a circular raised bed with a narrow, wedge-shape path to a central composting system), could work well for you. As we go into a bit more detail in this article, consider which of these methods might best suit your specific needs.
Garden Setup and landscaping choices.
Container Garden
Raising plants in containers is a great way to increase your gardening space and take advantage of a sunny deck or rooftop. Containers should have drainage holes to prevent root rot and a saucer to catch run-off water.
Containers made from recycled plastic or another waterproof material will reduce moisture loss in sunny locations. Grow bags (breathable polypropylene fabric bags filled with potting soil) are another fantastic option for raising vegetables and herbs.
If planning a container garden on a rooftop or terrace, bear in mind that containers + soil + plants + water can get heavy.
Use a quality potting soil mix and follow these steps for planting:
Place gravel in the bottom of the pot to improve drainage.
Add potting soil.
Plant seedlings and gently tamp down the soil to remove air pockets.
Water thoroughly and protect from direct sun until the plants become acclimated.
Best Choices for Vegetable Container Gardens
Many crops work well in containers, including species that are naturally compact or space-saving varieties such as miniature carrots, baby beets, patio tomatoes, and even bush pumpkins. You can raise strawberries, dwarf blueberries, and miniature fruit trees (including citrus) in pots with a bit of extra care.
Protect perennial plants from temperature extremes and bring tropical fruits indoors during cold weather. Include herbs or edible flowers to attract pollinators.
Here are a few suitable plant varieties for growing in containers:
Apple: Babe Dwarf and Garden Delicious (plant both for pollination)
Basil: Fino Verde
Beet: Early Wonder
Blueberry: Top Hat
Carrot: Thumbelina
Cherry: Compact Stella (self-pollinating)
Chives: Common Chives or Garlic Chives
Cilantro: Long-standing (bolt resistant)
Citrus: Dwarf Dancy Tangerine or Dwarf Valencia Orange (self-pollinating)
Corn: Golden Miniature
Cucumber: Bush Whopper
Dill: Compatto
Eggplant: Early Black Egg
Kale: Prizm
Lettuce: Tom Thumb
Melon: Green Machine
Peach: Bonanza Miniature (self-pollinating)
Pepper: Baby Belle
Potato: Lady Finger
Pumpkin: Wee Be Little
Spinach: Space
Strawberry: Seascape
Summer squash: Balmoral
Swiss chard: Barese
Tomato: Patio
Winter squash: Jersey Golden Acorn
In ground garden
Many gardeners choose a traditional in-ground garden to raise food at home. If you have a sunny spot with decent soil and good drainage, consider switching a section of your lawn to an in-ground garden.
In windy, dry, or hot climates, the ground will stay cooler and moisture won’t evaporate as quickly compared with raised beds or containers.
As an added bonus, start-up costs of planting directly into your in-ground garden are usually minimal. Among the planting styles to consider are biointensive single-row or wide-row gardens.
BIOINTENSIVE GARDENS
The biointensive method focuses on building soil fertility and successive plantings. To create a biointensive garden, begin by double-digging compacted soil or simply turning over already loose and friable (easily crumbled) soil.
If your climate is cold and wet, the beds may be slightly raised by mounding the soil and leveling them with a garden rake. This style of raised bed uses no lumber or other materials to hold the soil in place.
In hot, dry climates, the garden beds are slightly sunken to retain moisture. In any case, each bed is planted into the native soil and amended generously with compost.
Mulch is applied between plants to reduce weeds and feed the soil. Every time a crop is harvested, more compost is added to increase soil fertility and a new crop is planted.
SINGLE-ROW GARDENS
A single-row garden is laid out in rows that are one plant wide with walking paths between rows. This design makes envisioning your garden layout easy but requires the most space and leaves a great deal of soil open for weeds to fill in.
WIDE-ROW GARDENS
The wide-row method allows gardeners to increase their harvests by reducing the amount of space dedicated to walking paths. Unlike the single-row system, in which the width of the row depends entirely on how large each crop grows, a wide-row system dedicates about 4 feet for the width of each row or bed.
The largest crops may be planted down the center and allowed to fill in the row. Medium-size crops, such as cabbage or tomatoes, are planted in a double row with 1 to 1½ feet between the plants and a walking path down each side of the double row.
Spinach, leaf lettuce, and other small plants are usually sown by broadcasting (sprinkling the seeds across the entire wide row) to fill in the space. By reducing the number of paths and spacing the plants closely, you can raise more crops in your available space, use less water and fertilizer, and reduce weed growth. Mulching the paths further reduces maintenance and increases soil fertility.
Lasagna Gardens and Sheet Mulching
Lasagna gardening refers to building plant beds with layers of brown and green matter that break down into compost as your plants grow.
To build a lasagna garden, start by loosening up the soil with a garden fork, covering it with a layer of cardboard or newspaper, then layering brown materials (straw, leaves, etc.) 3 inches thick, alternating with green materials (composted manure, kitchen waste, etc.) 1 inch thick, watering well, then topping off with 2 to 4 inches of soil.
Seeds or seedlings are planted in the soil and may need extra irrigation until the layers fully compost. This method is a wonderful way to improve fertility, start a new garden bed easily, and actually create new soil.
Sheet mulching is basically the same idea; however, you’ll cover the soil with cardboard, then add layers of mulch and allow them to break down. The following year, this bed will be ready to plant.
Raised-Bed Gardens
For gardeners dealing with poor or wet soils, a raised-bed system may be a good option. In this method, a raised structure is built or purchased and filled with soil or a potting mix.
Raised beds Warm up faster in spring and don’t freeze as quickly in fall. In hot, dry climates it’s usually better to plant at ground level or in a sunken garden to keep roots cool and reduce moisture loss. For gardeners with mobility issues, a raised-bed system could make tending vegetables easier.
There are also “table”-style gardens, which resemble a cross between a raised bed and a container garden, that allow people in wheelchairs to grow vegetables independently.
When planning a raised-bed garden, allow enough space to walk around the beds, and don’t make the beds more than 3 to 4 feet wide, so you can reach the center.
Determine the layout of your beds, build the sides, and line the bottom with cardboard or newspaper to help kill grass before adding soil. Consider repurposing old bricks instead of purchasing lumber for the sides.
For another sustainable option, consider raised-bed kits made from recycled plastic, available from some garden supply companies. A keyhole garden is basically a circular raised bed with a central compost bin.
This type of garden works well for heavy feeders such as greens and herbs. The compost in the center leaches nutrients into the soil throughout the growing season and may be worked into the bed at the end of the season.
When designing a keyhole garden, don’t make the circle so large that you aren’t able to reach the center of the bed.
Keep in mind that the compost bin in the center is key to establishing a healthy soil ecosystem, so this feature shouldn’t be eliminated.
Another “key” feature of this type of garden is that the path makes it easy to turn your compost and work it into the bed.
Some newer keyhole-garden kits are basically a U-shape raised bed with no composting system included.
You could customize such a kit by adding your own compost bin to increase the soil fertility.
However, the circular design of the original keyhole-garden layout is designed around the compost pile and makes it easier to distribute the nutrients throughout the bed.
Square-Foot Gardens
Square-foot gardening combines a raised-bed system with custom spacing requirements for different crops. A bed is built and filled with equal parts organic compost, vermiculite (a heat-treated mineral that is lightweight and absorbent) or fine bark mulch, and coconut coir or peat moss (we’ll discuss why peat moss isn’t a sustainable choice in next article).
A 1-foot-by-1-foot grid is laid out over the bed to guide your planting. Large plants (such as zucchini or tomatoes) are generally planted in a 2-foot-by-2-foot square (or larger), and smaller crops such as scallions or spinach are planted in a grid of nine plants in a 1-foot-by-1-foot space.
Each plant is given enough room to reach maturity without leaving extra space where weeds can fill in and compete with crops.
This compact planting scenario requires less maintenance compared to a traditional single-row system. The “soil” mixture is friable, is great for plant roots, and retains moisture without causing root rot.
Fertilizer runoff into paths between rows is no longer an issue when planting intensively. In addition, this system is great for setting up an “instant garden” when you wish to get started quickly.
Straw-Bale Gardens
Another option for an easy planting space is a straw-bale garden. In this method, straw bales are placed in a sunny spot and soaked with water several weeks before planting, to begin breaking them down.
Situate the bales with the cut-end facing up and remove enough straw from the center of the top of the bale to create a shallow trench.
Fill the trench with soil and plant with seeds or seedlings. Keep the straw well watered to speed up decomposition and keep plants hydrated. The rotting straw will nourish your plantings and makes a great soil amendment.
Vertical Gardens and Vertical Stacking
Gardeners with limited space can produce more food by “growing up.” The simplest way to make use of vertical space is by training crops on a trellis or arbor instead of letting them sprawl.
Vertical gardens are great for such crops as cucumbers, pole beans, and grapes. You can also raise food in a vertical living wall planter.
In this twist on container gardening, a planter system is securely attached to a sturdy wall, filled with potting mix, fitted with an irrigation system, then planted.
Creating your own from an already designed plan is an option, or you can purchase one that’s ready-made. Consider this method for small varieties of herbs and salad greens, or choose plants that grow well in a hanging planter, such as strawberries.
Vertical Garden
Vertical stacking is another technique in which plants with different heights and light requirements are raised together to make better use of space. Tall plants that need full sun work well with shorter, shade-tolerant crops that cover the soil and help reduce weed growth. Some vertical stacking combinations that work well include:
sweet corn and pumpkins
sunflowers and lettuce
tomatoes and spinach
In another vertical-stacking method, a tiered planter provides space to raise vegetables, herbs, and strawberries.
Choices include strawberry pots with planting holes in the sides, planters with stepped planting boxes, or tiers of window box–style planters on metal racks.
Edible Landscaping
If you’re having trouble working a vegetable garden into your backyard, consider adding edible crops to your decorative landscaping.
In addition to creating a lovely and delicious landscape, you’ll also provide a diversity of plants to attract beneficial insects. Choose colorful salad greens, herbs, and pretty vegetables and fruits to dress up your landscape as well as your dinner plate.
Here are some fantastic choices for edible crops that will look right at home in a flower bed:
Artichoke
Bright Lights Swiss chard
Cayenne pepper
Cherry tomato
Chives
Freckles lettuce
Opal basil
Red Russian kale
Scarlet runner bean
Seascape strawberry
Variegated sage
Other options include blueberry bushes, dwarf fruit trees, and a host of perennial and annual herbs, vegetables, and fruits.
Check to see which plants are suitable for your growing conditions, and be sure to include a variety of different heights, textures, colors, and blooms that provide visual interest as well as food for your table (not to mention the butterflies, bees, and birds you wish to attract to your garden).
PICKING THE METHOD THAT WORKS FOR YOU
Given the many different gardening methods to consider, deciding which one is best for you might feel a little overwhelming.
Start by setting the location of your new garden, assessing your growing conditions, and determining how much space you can dedicate to growing food.
Think, too, about how much time you have to set up and maintain your garden. Additionally, what are your gardening goals? Which crops do you enjoy eating and how much of each can you put to use? There’s a lot to think about, so let’s dig in!
How Much Space Do You Have?
You’ll need to take a survey of your property to determine the best location for the fruits, herbs, and vegetables you wish to plant.
Having a large, sunny garden space is ideal; however, in the absence of this space sometimes edible plantings must be worked into shady spots or around other complications.
If you have a small yard, consider spaces around your patio, in the foundation plantings around the home, and between the sidewalk and street as potential planting areas. Perhaps there is a community garden nearby where you may rent a space.
When planning, be sure to take into account the mature size of trees and shrubs, and consider adding a bed for shade-tolerant crops such as lettuce, peas, spinach, and beets.
Siting and Sizing Your Garden
Start your eco-friendly garden out right by selecting the best location and making good use of what you already have. Here are some handy tips:
Choose a spot with 6+ hours of sun a day.
Site your garden near the home and a faucet for easy maintenance.
Check soil health, structure, and drainage.
Avoid underground utilities or septic fields.
Keep in mind that replacing some of your lawn with a garden can increase biodiversity and reduce the time and gas needed to mow. Alternatively, consider growing food in containers on a sunny deck, rooftop, or balcony.
Raised beds are a great option for an area with poor drainage or rocky soil. Many edible plants are attractive enough to tuck into a flower bed if you have a small lot. Another consideration is how much space to plan for your garden. The answer depends on the amount of food you need and which crops you’ll grow.
One bed of about 12 square feet should be plenty for a single person. For a family of four to eat fresh produce in season and preserve some for winter, you may need to cultivate 96 square feet, or more.
Some vegetables need a lot of space (e.g., winter squash and pumpkins), whereas other crops produce an abundance of food in a small space (e.g., tomatoes and pole beans).
Use the “My Organic Garden Worksheet” to make a list of the crops you wish to grow and to estimate the amount you’ll need.
Keep this list handy when you read the guide to common vegetables, their average yield, and how much space they require.
How Much Time Do You Have?
You don’t want your garden to take up every extra minute of your day, so think carefully about how much time you can dedicate to this project.
Are there certain seasons when you go on vacation? Need to take children to soccer practice every weekend? Have a maxed-out schedule because of other obligations? Consider these types of questions.
Be realistic when planning the size of your garden so you don’t get overwhelmed. It’s better to start small and add to your plantings when time allows. Plan ahead for time spent weeding, watering, pruning, checking for insects, and harvesting.
Use time-saving techniques, such as mulching to prevent weeds and installing drip irrigation (system of hoses or pipes that drip water onto the soil next to a specific plant) to reduce watering responsibilities.
Locate beds close to the house, if possible, to reduce time spent walking to and from the garden to harvest and maintain your plantings.
Method Mash-Ups
If you can’t decide which garden methods would work best for your specific needs, don’t worry! There’s no reason you have to stick with just one.
Instead, use a combination of different systems according to your space and growing conditions. For example:Install a trellis for climbing crops as a backdrop for a bed that mixes insectary plants with colorful salad vegetables and herbs. Turn a large, sunny backyard into a wide-row or biointensive garden with a compost bin and potting shed nearby. Use the sheet mulching technique around sprawling pumpkins and squash. Grow vines on an arbor over part of your patio, with vertical stacking containers of strawberries and herbs and large pots for miniature blueberries in sunny areas.Use square-foot spacing techniques in an in-ground garden rather than a raised bed.
Of course, these ideas are just a sampling for putting your outdoor space to work for you. Pay careful attention to each area of your yard and look for micro-climates that have more sun, while avoiding areas that are windy or more susceptible to frost, and choose the best gardening technique for each spot.

Bathroom Demolition
Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: One of the common mistakes you might make as a homeowner is trying to take on kitchen or bathroom demolition projects in your home or business on your own. You believe you are saving money, but without qualified remodeling experience and the right tools, doing your own demolition can result in unnecessary delays that end up costing you more in the long run.
Proper bathroom demolition takes a certain level of skill and knowledge to complete correctly. Not to mention, it can be physically taxing and creates a large mess.

The Dangers Of Non-professional Kitchen And Bathroom Demolition
Some of the issues that can arise as the result of an inexperienced demolition crew working on your home or business flooring can include: ● Removal of areas that should not be demolished ● Damage to pipes and wiring ● Injury to homeowner or contractor ● Delays caused by demolition of pipes or wiring ● Buildup of debris in your home These risks are increased if you live in an older or historical home. By examining the kitchen or bathroom structure and the plans you have for renovation, we can help get rid of the parts you need removed without damaging anything else.
How We Protect Your Property During & After Demolition
Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: Demolition of a kitchen or bathroom can be a messy process, so it’s important to hire a service that actively tries to help you keep your property clean. We protect your property in multiple ways, including taking precautions before we work on the demolition, such as: ● Bringing Aluminum Ramps: to prevent damage as we bring heavy equipment into your home or business. ● Stopping the Spread of Dust: utilizing plastic sheets and painters tape to cover the areas outside of the work area. ● Using Vacuums and Air Scrubbers: to prevent dust particles from spreading and recirculating in your indoor air.
Our process is also free of chemicals that can be harmful to your health. All of our removal is done with machinery, specialized tools and skill to ensure your family or customers are not subjected to the harsh fumes chemical solvents emit. With a fleet of removal trucks that we use for our flooring removal work, we can make sure that the debris does not pile up in your home or on your curb. As soon as the demolition work is complete, we will load up any waste into one of our trucks and take it away for recycling.
Experienced In Bathroom Demolition
Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: Our decades of experience with tile removal make us a perfect choice to handle your demolition needs. Many of the surfaces within the bathroom and kitchen are covered in tile, which does not always come away from the surface easily. Most forms of tile are laid using a large, thick layer of mortar to keep them in place. Getting these surfaces removed can be time consuming, back breaking work if you do not have the right removal tools. RGV HAULING JUNK & MOVING has a range of equipment designed to remove tile surfaces in a short time frame, including flooring removal machines, hand tools, and grinders.
We begin with our flooring equipment, which will remove the tile surface and at least some of the mortar underneath. Once this is done, we use the hand tools to reach any tile parts that remain on the surface. With all of the tile gone, we use chipping hammers, chisels and grinders to get the mortar removed. This layer of mortar can be as thick as three inches, but we have the tools and skills to remove it from any surface.

TIPS
Gutting a Bathroom Step-by-Step
Step 1: Tear Out Sink and Vanity Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: Time to start the real demo work. The only tools you’ll need for this step are a bucket, an adjustable wrench, and a utility knife.
How to Demolish a Bathroom Vanity: ● Put a bucket under the sink drain to catch any water in the drain trap. ● Use an adjustable wrench to unscrew the nuts around the u-shaped section of pipe, called the P-trap, under your sink. Dump any water caught in the P-trap into your bucket. ● Unscrew the nuts where the sink’s water supply lines come through the wall. ● Check behind the sink for any bolts or brackets connecting it to the wall. Remove any that you find and lift the sink out. ● If your sink rests on the vanity, pull it straight up and out. Sinks can be heavy, so have a helper on standby. ● Unscrew bolts connecting the vanity to the wall or use your utility knife to cut through any caulk. Pull the vanity out. ● Toss the debris in your dumpster so you have room to work safely on the next steps.
Step 2: Remove the Toilet
Tearing out a toilet is slightly more involved than removing your vanity, but it’s still a straightforward task for a DIY bathroom demolition. You’ll need an adjustable wrench and a utility knife. If your toilet has been in place for a long time, you may also need some WD-40 and a socket wrench.
How to Remove a Toilet:
● Find the threaded pipe located under the toilet tank, called the inlet supply pipe. Unscrew the pipe from the tank and from the supply line valve on the floor or wall behind the toilet. ● Lift the tank from the toilet base and set it aside if your toilet is a two-piece model. ● Remove the nuts and bolts attaching the base to the floor with your adjustable wrench. If they’re stuck, spray on some WD-40 and use a socket wrench to ratchet them loose. ● Cut through any caulk around the toilet base with a utility knife and lift the toilet off the flange bolts. ● Use your utility knife to scrape away the wax around the drain flange in the floor. Unscrew the flange and remove it. ● Stuff rags in the drain hole to keep sewer gases from filling the bathroom while you finish your demo work. ● Carry everything to the dumpster to make room for the next task.
Step 3: Take Down the Tile
This is the most strenuous job in any bathroom demo, but luckily it’s not complicated. This step will probably take a full day, and you should never rush the work. Take breaks whenever you need so you can stay focused and safe.
COST
Bathroom Demolition Cost
Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: There are a couple of ways to estimate how much your bathroom demolition will cost. Work is priced differently from contractor to contractor, and there are many aspects to the bathroom demolition process that will affect how much your project will cost.
However, if you have a relative understanding of the demolition work you want to be done and how much it typically costs to have a professional contractor handle it you'll be able to negotiate the best price with the contractors you speak to.
Bathroom Demolition Cost by Job Type
Demolition Job Low-End Cost Average Cost High-End Cost
Vanity Removal $40 - $70 $70 - $100 $100 - $130 Shower/Tub Removal $70 - $90 $90 - $110 $110 - $140 Toilet Removal $60 - $90 $90 - $110 $110 - $160 Sink Removal $30 - $60 $60 - $80 $80 - $100 Flooring Removal $60 - $100 $100 - $130 $130 - $170 Drywall Removal $90 - $130 $130 - $170 $170 - $210 Total Cost $350 - $540 $540 - $700 $700 - $910
For example, if you just want to replace the vanity and toilet, expect to pay between $100 and $300 to have them removed.
However, if you plan on doing a total remodel and need to demolish everything, expect to pay between $350 and $1,000 for a complete bathroom demolition.
Bathroom Demolition Cost by Hour
Some contractors may decide to price their work based on how long it takes them to finish the job, rather than on the specific work they're doing. How long your bathroom demolition takes depends largely on the size of the bathroom and the types of materials involved. For example, if asbestos or lead is present, it needs to be carefully handled and disposed of in the proper manner based on local environmental regulation. This can prolong the project.
Likewise, if any unforeseen complications arise, your timeline will be extended.
How much does bathroom strip out cost?
Time to get down to the nitty gritty - cost. ● On average a plumber will charge a call-out fee of $60 to $100, with hourly rates anywhere from $100 - $150 depending on the plumber and region. ● On average, tilers charge anywhere from $45 to $150 per hour. What are some of the risks of a non-professional kitchen or bathroom demolition?
Bathroom Demolition Service near McAllen TX: Many new homeowners make the mistake of trying to tackle a kitchen or bathroom demolition on their own to save money. Though all the hammer swinging of the demolition process can look like a job anyone can do, tearing down a room can take just as much skill as building it did. ● Proper Training: If you lack training in the specifics of building or architecture, you could accidentally remove a load bearing wall, causing permanent structural damage to your home. ● Injury: There are huge risks associated with some of the demolition tools, as well as the resulting dust and debris that could injure yourself or anyone else who is helping you do the work. ● Correct Tools: A professional team will be trained on the tools they use. They will also come with specialized protective clothing and gear, and be covered by their company’s insurance, which would pay for their medical expenses from any unforeseeable accident.
I have heard that the machines used during a demolition project can cause damage to our home. Do you take steps to prevent that?
There are some pieces of specialized equipment that we use for floor removal and demolition that if not handled correctly, can cause damage to homes. However, our teams are trained in using the equipment as well as protecting your property. Another way the demolition process can damage your home is by dust accumulation.
Here are a few ways that we help to ensure the safety of your home during your project: ● We have specialized metal ramps that help us bring in the larger pieces of equipment without negatively impacting your homes entries or exits. ● Many of our machines have specialized tires to help evenly distribute weight and pressure and reduce any chance of damage while in use. ● We cover all areas that are not being actively renovated with plastic sheeting and tape to stop the spreading of any dust that gets stirred up. ● Many of our tools have vacuum attachments to help with dust control. We also utilize air scrubbers, which drastically decrease the level of dust in your home. ● We never use harmful chemicals during our demolition or floor removal process. We ensure that all demolition is done with tools and machines only because protecting your property, you, your family, or your customers is essential!
When doing any demolition, floor removal, or renovation, there is a lot of debris and garbage. Will I be charged a separate removal fee?
Here at RGV HAULING JUNK & MOVING, we believe that you and your family or business have enough to worry about during your remodel, and we want to help ease your mind in any way that we can.
Not only do we pack up and haul away all of the garbage and materials left from your job; our team sorts it and ensures that each type of debris is recycled and handled with appropriate safety. Our debris removal not only eliminates a task that you would not want to tackle, but it also ensures the safe handling of any hazardous materials, as we believe it is our environmental responsibility.

Experienced In Bathroom Demolition
Bathroom Demolition Service near Wichita KS: Our decades of experience with tile removal make us a perfect choice to handle your demolition needs. Many of the surfaces within the bathroom and kitchen are covered in tile, which does not always come away from the surface easily. TIPS
Gutting a Bathroom Step-by-Step
Step 1: Tear Out Sink and Vanity Bathroom Demolition Service near Wichita KS: Time to start the real demo work.
Bathroom Demolition Service near Wichita KS: There are a couple of ways to estimate how much your bathroom demolition will cost.
Tile removal is different, so you will need to get a specific quote for this (see below). ● On average sparkiest charge a service fee in the region of $70 - $130 and $70 - $95 per hour For services dedicated to bathroom strip out, expect to pay: ● $20 to $50 per square meter for tile removal ● $235 for skip hire (combination of heavy waste) ● $375 for skip hire (larger walk-in bin filled with a light mix of waste)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are some of the risks of a non-professional kitchen or bathroom demolition?
Bathroom Demolition Service near Lincoln NE: Many new homeowners make the mistake of trying to tackle a kitchen or bathroom demolition on their own to save money.
Here at LNK HAULING JUNK & MOVING, we believe that you and your family or business have enough to worry about during your remodel, and we want to help ease your mind in any way that we can.

Experienced In Bathroom Demolition
Bathroom Demolition Service near Las Vegas NV: Our decades of experience with tile removal make us a perfect choice to handle your demolition needs. LAS VEGAS HAULING JUNK & MOVING has a range of equipment designed to remove tile surfaces in a short time frame, including flooring removal machines, hand tools, and grinders.

Step 1: Tear Out Sink and Vanity Bathroom Demolition Service near Las Vegas NV: Time to start the real demo work.

Bathroom Demolition Service near Albuquerque NM: There are a couple of ways to estimate how much your bathroom demolition will cost.
Bathroom Demolition Service near Albuquerque NM: Many new homeowners make the mistake of trying to tackle a kitchen or bathroom demolition on their own to save money.
Here at ABQ HAULING JUNK & MOVING, we believe that you and your family or business have enough to worry about during your remodel, and we want to help ease your mind in any way that we can.

[FN] Capture
Salem disguised her presence with magic lurking motionless in the shadows. She's waiting for the change of guard, knowing it's better not to face off with royal officers.
"If you should manage to evade me till morning I will not send my guard after you, you may leave with whatever you've gathered and I will erase your bounty." A gentle whisper, her breath caught up in the tension of the moment not wanting to give up her position if it were to be a charade, turning towards the voice directed at her blue eyes and flush pale skin staring right into her soul.
Salem faltered 'HOW DID I NOT NOTICE HER!? SHE WAS COMPLETELY SILENT! UNDETECTABLE!' Pausing on the face before her, as a spark of recognition hits 'She's the ruler of this castle and is letting me ransack it?' "What if I should fail to evade you till morning?" A stern response trying to hide how shaken its keeper is.
"Aha! I wasn't sure if I was seeing things as I was flying over here." A gleeful smile warms her face.
'So it was a trap, damn.'
"Then your punishment will be yours to decide," Salem began to slink off on her treasure-laden escapade, "albeit you may not choose a path that leads to freedom. You'll have 20 minutes start and I'll inform the guard not to interfere. See you in a bit." A cheerful lilt in the dragon lord's voice worrying the stone-cold thief.
Later on in the night, both dragons within the treasury. The larcenist filling greater bags of holding to the brim with gold and jewels. Her rival of the night standing by, propped on the nearby desk. Salem sauntering over with Ruby grabbing her wing. "You know if you continue to be so nonchalant I'm going to get away."
"Oh? But I already have you caught." Glee and blood-lust spilling forth with the sway in her voice.
"You think that holding my wing will stop me?" Lain bare the contempt she holds for the woman beside her, not sparing a glance back. 'She's frail there's n-'
"But this will." Ruby wrestles her down and dislocating her foe's wing while turning to her draconic forme meanwhile, Salem thrashes underneath the formidable dragon with a cry. Salem disorients her with a sharp headbutt and rolls over, scrambling to her feet. Bolting to the door with an abrupt stop to her scutter. The joints in her tail popping and throbbing icy pain spilling from her tail to her head, movements abruptly stilled. Cold harsh pain is all she feels, frozen in place to all but her head.
"So what will my punishment be?" A smug grin spreading on her captor's face as she waltzes into Salem's vision. A flicker of darkness in her eyes belies the absolute glee she's going to have.
"I told you already, the punishment is yours to choose. You may not choose freedom, nor may you choose death, as it frees you from the shackles of life." The bitter look in the eyes of her prey, fearful of what lies ahead. The fear exciting her pale counterpart of the outcome to this encounter.
Pondering her options. 'A jail sentence would lead to my eventual death. Though she could torture me and force my tongue on where my treasures are. Women are of no interest to her I know at least that much. Is suffering my only path or did she want me as a tortured plaything this whole time? Fuck. I hadn't even thought of that. That wolf of hers is an excellent healer if the rumours are true.' Despair spreading across the coal coloured dragons visage. 'Wait...'
"Will you take me as your familiar?!" Her head dropping down with a groan. The smaller dragon perking up at the offer as she melts back to the human shape she tends toward.
"Oh?" A twisted grin winding up the cheeks of the lord, narrowing her sights on the encased dragon. "I like that. You'll be bound to me til I die then. I'll have command of you when I need. Or perhaps Wolf would have you for himself and his experiments? It's decided then." An ornate knife manifests in her hands, as she grasps it by the blade with red dripping from the tip and her palm.
"Fuck." The ice covering her winged arm melts enough that she has free range with it and swipes at the other. Blood soon dripping from the fingers at the tip, A glare from the small human stalls her thrashes.
"Try that again and I'll rend the wings from your body and leave you to rot in the dungeons." The dragon stills herself. Brilliant light spilling from the floor rising to wash over them, chains manifesting from the beams of magic. The blood from their hands, covering the blade forming a taut thread between the beating hearts of both as the chains envelop it, binding the two in eternity. "It's done." The same lilt spills from the albino girl. "You're now free to go" the ice surrounding the other dissipating.
"But I belong to you now as your familiar? What do you mean I'm free?" Confusion in her voice retaining the joy felt by such words.
"You're free to continue as you like but, I will summon you as I need," The sanguinary tone in her voice melted away. "though you can't take this." Chuckling while taking the bag of goods, returning the items to their respective homes in the treasury. "I like seeing the world with different points of view. Your eyes will give me the exhilarating experience I could never have as Queen of these lands. I do hope you keep me as interested as you did tonight."

Junkyard Find: 1973 Plymouth Road Runner
The year 1973 was an important one for the Plymouth Road Runner. For the first time since 1969, the base price dropped below $3,000. By slashing the price to $2,987, a full $252 less than 1972 (which was priced at $3,239), sales nearly tripled from 6,831 to 17,443! And remember, in the early seventies muscle car sales were in a freefall. Plymouth really performed a miracle.
To get under the $3K threshold and tickle sales, the lowly 318 2-barrel economy mill replaced the 340 as the standard engine. That’s right, Road Runners were available with a single 2-barrel carb for the very first time. But get this, instead of the lame single exhaust used in other 318 applications, Road Runner retained the full dual exhaust system used on the (now optional) 340 small-block. Better yet, out back, every Road Runner got the cool slotted chrome and orange bazooka exhaust tips first seen in 1971.
Here, we present the remains of a Basin Street Blue 340 4-speed Road Runner discovered in a dormant Pennsylvania boneyard. Its future is undetermined but luckily the yard’s owner knows enough never to crush it. Let’s crawl…
The original roof was wrecked so one was harvested from a Satellite Sebring Sport. The donor, parked a few rows away, was an equally rusty 318 2-barrel car. While other 318 2-barrel applications were rated at 150 horses, Road Runner’s dual pipes bumped it to 170 with no other changes.
Once home to an H-code 340 (a $153 upcharge over the base 318), the engine bay still wears its original TB3 Basin Street Blue, also known as Corporate Blue and Petty Blue. Chrysler added donut-shaped rubber isolators between the K-member and forward frame rails on all B-Bodies in 1973. Oddly, the similar E-Body (Barracuda, Challenger) never got this detail. The bolt-on tin fender wall panels were also new for 1973 and improved access to the upper control arm pivots for quicker alignments.
The floor shift hump elevates this Road Runner far above its two-pedal cousins. After 1969, Plymouth took the rugged A833 4-speed off the Road Runner’s standard equipment list and replaced it with the new all-synchro A230 3-speed, which was strong enough to handle the 383 big-block. The fender tag is missing here so we cannot tell if it was born a 3-speed or if the original buyer spent the extra $201.85 for the D21 4-speed. The 4-speed would have had a Hurst Pistol Grip shift handle while the 3-speed got a simple plastic ball. Surprisingly, the 4-speed could be had with the base 318.
Despite the severe rot, this ’Runner’s status as a Petty Blue 4-speed recommends it for restoration. 1973 saw the introduction of the light-duty 8 ¼-inch Salisbury-type rear axle (removable inspection cover) rear axle on base Road Runners. Mostly seen on 318 and 340 automatic cars, the 400 and 440 big-blocks still got the 8 ¾-inch Hotchkiss-type axle (drop-out center section). As a manual transmission car, it is possible this one got an 8 3/4 axle. We’ve seen them both ways.
Well preserved, the RM prefix on the LH door’s VIN sticker verifies Road Runner muscle status. The “H” in spot number five signals the zippy 340. The RM VIN prefix appears on every B-Body Road Runner up to 1975. When Road Runner transferred to the F-body Volare in 1976, the RM VIN designator gave way to option code A57, stamped into the fender tag. F-Body Road Runners certainly warrant respect. You want rare? Only 496 Road Runners were made for 1980, the final year.
Groovy Factoids • Oddly, at $153 the 240-horsepower, E55 small-block 340 (H code) cost $31.85 more than the E68 big-block 400 wedge (P code). We’d take the 400 any day. • For $241.90, torque junkies could still get the 280-horsepower E86 440 big-block (U code), but the 4-speed and attendant Dana 60 axle were finally removed from the menu. The heavy duty D34 Torqueflite was the only way to fly. A mere 117 440s were sold in 1973. • As in 1972, when the 440 was specified, a Road Runner automatically became a “Road Runner GTX.” It was Plymouth’s way of burying the GTX without killing it. The last stand-alone GTX models were built in 1971, the final 440 Road Runner GTX appeared in 1974.

A Wood Stove Hot Water Heater Heats Water for Free
By Patricia Greene – A good hot shower or bath is essential to everyone’s well-being. A shower or bath on a cold day with free hot water from your wood-burning cook stove that doesn’t waste fossil fuels, now there’s a luxury that can make your day.
A wood-burning cook stove with a large enough firebox to heat your home is an amazingly useful piece of equipment. It keeps you warm, cooks your dinner, bakes your bread, and dries your clothes. Add a heat exchanger coil, hot water tank, copper tubing, valves and fittings, and your wood-burning cook stove can heat all your domestic water, too.
Our best chicken secrets revealed with this FREE guide!
Even old pros say they got dozens of tips for their flocks by reading this guide. YES! I want this Free Guide »
A basic thermosiphoning hot water system has a stainless steel heat exchanger coil bolted to the inside of the firebox and passing through the rear of the wood-burning cook stove to connect with pipes that run up to a regular 30- to 120-gallon hot water storage tank above the stove by at least 18 inches, and ideally placed on the second floor above the stove. The system is plumbed at about a 45- to 90-degree angle so that rising hot water and falling cold water circulate continuously as long as the stove is hot, and is connected to the house’s hot water system.
Variations on this basic theme use a circulating pump and are thus able to connect to the regular gas or electric water heater in the basement for off-season use. Some people have tried homemade coils installed in the stovepipe or on the exterior of the stove wall. The system also complements solar hot water perfectly by heating water in the less sunny part of the year. If installed with a flip switch, it can also work in tandem with your current water heater.
To install this system yourself, you will need basic plumbing and mechanical skills, seasoned with a sense of adventure, plus the ability to use a soldering torch, and some plumbing tools. Each system will be a little different and require some creative thinking.
Hot water installation on a four-year-old Heartland cookstove in the home of Sandy and Louie Maine, Parishville, New York.
  Close-up of the pipe installation.
There are many advantages. It really can supply enough hot water for a family. If you are burning hot, the system can supply about 20 gallons of 120-degree water an hour, but it can get much hotter. It will retain that heat for 48 hours in a properly insulated tank, even after the fire is out. So when you’re not running your wood-burning cook stove continuously, you’ll still get that early morning shower.
Best of all, the cost and payback are good. If you install it yourself and can scrounge a hot water heater, it will cost you approximately $250-$700 for the coil, $400 for copper pipes and fittings, valves, and gauges, and $50 for pipe and tank insulation. Let’s say your electric water heater is costing you a painful $40 a month, and you live in a northern area where you can run your wood-burning cook stove hot six months of the year. The bottom line is $40 a month x 6 equals $240 that you’ll be saving annually. So in less than three years you’ll have paid off the cost and be enjoying free hot water using this low-cost construction technique. (Ed. Note: Prices from 2010)
System Details
Although this hot water system may be installed in any wood-burning cook stove, many newer cook stoves are designed to heat water and have a coil that you can buy directly from the manufacturer. The safest, most widely used, and efficient heat exchanger coils are made from pressure-tested stainless steel, and designed in a simple U or W shape to be installed inside your firebox. They come in different sizes with mounting hardware, gaskets and instructions. You may also order a pressure relief valve (a necessity!), and a hole saw with a bit for drilling your stove. Custom coils are also available. Cost is from $170 to $270. (See the end of the article). Lehman’s Non-Electric Catalog also has a hot water jacket that installs in the firebox for $395, and by the way, don’t forget to order their useful booklet Hot Water From Your Wood Stove, for $9.95. (Ed. Note: Prices from 2010)
Once you’ve measured your firebox, decided what size and shape coil is best, and ordered it, you’ll need to find or buy an electric or gas water heater that is the right size for your needs. If you’re scrounging a second-hand tank, make sure it’s rust free and water-tight. The ease with which the fittings and connectors can be removed from an old water heater is often a good indication of what shape it’s in. Sometimes plumbers will have used water heaters they’ll be happy to part with that have nothing more wrong than a broken thermostat. You could also use a galvanized steel tank to save money, but you’ll have to insulate it with fiberglass, as you will any water heater tank. In placing your tank remember this: you can move the tank up to two feet away from the wood-burning cook stove for every foot it is above the coil exit from the stove back.
Remove the cover of the water heater, and unscrew and remove the electric element and thermostat on the tank. Using a hole saw, you’ll drill two holes from inside the wood-burning cook stove where the threaded ends of the coil will come through and be sealed with nuts, a flat washer and a gasket.
Basically, hot water from the coil comes out of the stove and rises through 1″ copper pipes to enter the tank through the upper element. (See diagram). Cold water returns out of the bottom drain valve down through 1″ pipes to re-enter the coil and be heated again. The hot water pipes are installed at 45 to 90 degree angles and connected to the regular hot water plumbing pipes to the kitchen and bathroom. In order to facilitate flow, the hot water pipe must slope only up for at least several feet after exiting the stove. After that, you may have 90-degree bends that will slow the flow but two 45 degree fittings are better than one 90.
You will need a drain valve, plus a temperature gauge in a place you can easily see, and two pressure/temperature relief valves on the hot water output near, but not too close to the wood-burning cook stove and plumbed to a safe place, such as a five-gallon bucket or into your sewer system. At the tank, you will install a temperature regulating valve set to 120 degrees, and at the highest point another temperature/pressure relief valve, a vacuum relief valve, and an air bleeding valve. Make sure you follow the plumbing codes.
The water tank is above the Maine’s stove on the second floor and nicely hidden in a closet.
Problem Solving
Generally, this system is easy to maintain, but here are a few tips.
In the beginning, the system will get really hot and may blow off the pressure relief valve, but as creosote builds up on the coil this problem will subside. Burn your wood-burning cook stove a little cooler.
If you have hard water, lime scale will buildup on the inside of the pipes after a number of months. Using the drain valves, you can flush the pipes with vinegar at least once a season.
Creosote will build up on the outside of the coil and can be scraped off to keep the heat exchange at maximum efficiency. And speaking of creosote, check your pipe or chimney more often as the heat exchanger will draw BTUs from the firebox and make your fire burn somewhat cooler.
For insurance purposes, you may need to use a coil that is certified for use with your wood-burning cook stove.
This system may affect EPA emissions certification because it takes heat from the combustion process. If you are concerned about this, you may possibly be able to use flue mounted collectors to solve the problem.
Keep an eye on your temperature gauge for a while to assess how hot your system is burning. Draw off more water if it’s burning too hot. Hey, an unexpected bath is a wonderful thing!
If you don’t feel you have the skills, but still want a wood-burning cook stove hot water system, consult solar hot water installers in your area. Many of them are starting to install these systems.

Amazon.com Basketball System Buying Guide With the high-quality construction of many portable basketball systems, turning your driveway into a basketball court can be as simple as hooking up your garden hose. But while a portable system may ultimately be your best choice, there are reasons you may want to consider an in-ground or wall-mount system before you decide.
In-Ground Systems In-ground systems are permanently cemented into the ground–either via a bolt mounting kit or directly into the ground–and are generally more rigid and take up less space than portables. In-ground systems often require that you hire a professional to complete the task, but when the cement dries you’ll have a hoop that can take punishing dunks with ease.
Many in-ground systems are height-adjustable, include removable post features that let you take the system down for off-season storage, and feature heavy-duty break-away rims. You’ll also want to research the adjustable mechanisms on the systems, as there are several types to choose from. Some feature a counter-balance spring that lets you perform easy, one-hand adjustments while others may feature a sturdy, pneumatic system.
Wall-Mount Systems Wall-mount systems can be mounted to the side of a house, a tall retaining wall, or a garage. Generally sturdier than portables, wall-mounts have the added advantage of optimizing your existing ground space for the court, since you won’t take any space up with the base or pole. Not all systems include the necessary hardware, so make certain you add a mounting kit to your list.
Portable Systems Portable systems require minimal installation and offer ultimate convenience. These systems generally feature a base that can be filled with sand or water to stabilize them and include wheels for portability. Although they are not as sturdy as in-ground or wall-mounted hoops, portables are simple to set up and can often be folded for convenient storage.
Backboard Considerations Regardless of which system you choose, you’ll want to brush up on Backboards 101. Most residential systems feature backboards made of acrylic, fiberglass, graphite, or various other composite materials. While clear acrylic gives the professional look and feel of glass, it is not as rigid as fiberglass or graphite. Some systems may offer steel or aluminum backboards, which are virtually vandal resistant, but don’t offer the true rebounding action.
The regulation size of an NBA backboard is 72 inches wide and 42 inches high. Most portable hoops are 42 or 44 inches wide and 36 inches tall. In-ground systems tend to be a bit larger, with 54-inch and 60-inch widths being the most popular. While rectangular shaped backboards provide more bank shot opportunities, they are generally more expensive than the streamlined fan-shaped board.
