All's fair—Academic Rivals | Tsukishima Kei
Tsukishima x Reader (she/her pronouns used)
wc: 1.1k
genre: kinda angsty but nothing crazy! sfw
warnings: feelings of inferiority, jealousy, slight cursing, calculus 💀
a/n: finally the long awaited academic rivals fic!! sorry I've been MIA for a couple days, I was traveling <3 everyone say thank you to @23starii , @alexaslibrary13 , @nym-blogs , and @h0neymustardwh0re for asking and encouraging me to write this one :)
(gif not mine)
Even after a long losing streak on the boy's volleyball team, Tsukishima always had one thing he believed he could never feel defeated in: his academics. School was just naturally easy to him, but that's not to say he doesn't work hard. It was his innate intelligence coupled with his work ethic that made him an absolute force in the classroom.
So when the calculus tests were being handed back, there wasn't a worry in his mind. The teacher set it on his desk face down.
Tsk, how dramatic, he thought, flipping it over.
In big red pen, he saw 98% written in bold on the top of the paper. Scoring a 98 was certainly above average, but not above Tsukki's average.
Before he could say a word the teacher was projecting at the front of the class, "Sorry, but there's no curve on this one. Somebody managed a perfect score, so it was achievable."
What?
The class murmured, upset with pretty mediocre grades for such a prestigious class. Discontent spouted from all directions. Well, besides directly from Tsukki's left hand side, where you sat. It was silent as a mouse. Awfully suspicious.
He stole a quick side glance at you to see exactly what he feared, a big, bold, 100% at the top of your test.
No matter how hard he tried for the rest of the day, he just couldn't shake that jealousy from his mind— the constant image of your perfect test seemingly ingrained to the back of his eyelids. He was so used to setting the curve in that class, how could he have overlooked competition this whole time?
☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾
Later that day at practice, he tried channeling his emotions into his gameplay, with mild success. He was definitely playing with the kind of ambition he often lacked after long days of school.
When the team stopped for a water break, Nishinoya was quick to chime in, "Hey Tsukki, what's got you so worked up??"
The annoying presence of his pesky teammate irritated Tsukishima, "I doubt you'd even be able to understand it, dumbass."
Noya's face dropped at the outburst, "Sure Tsukki. Just let me know when you've pulled the stick out of your butt!!"
☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾
Days went by, then weeks, and Tsukishima's hunger to match your academic achievement only grew. He became exceedingly obvious about it.
Every time you raised your hand, suddenly he did.
At the end of every test, when you stood up to turn it in, so did he. And his legs were long enough to beat you to handing it in every time.
When the tests were returned, you started to turn and catch his eye as he stared intensely trying to get a peak at your grade. Eventually you just made an effort to show him. After all, you weren't insecure about your grades. They were phenomenal and you both knew it.
The real surprises began when you both started to talk to each other. Suddenly the rivalry was put into words. It started out friendly, asking about when due dates were and simple things like that, but eventually you started to full-on taunt each other. Everything became a competition, and you weren't about to lose.
Even friendship had become a competition, you could feel Tsukishima's glare burning a hole in you when you turned around and asked Yamaguchi for a pencil one time. Not to mention when he had caught you talking to him before class. If only he had known what kind of information Yamaguchi let slip about him.
The final straw was when the teacher called for a group project, and you immediately turned around and looked at Yamaguchi. That was too far. Tsukishima immediately snapped, "Y/n, what do you think you're doing?"
"What's the big deal?"
Tsukki met your resistance with fierce eye contact, "You're working with me."
"huh?"
Yamaguchi's face was just as shocked as yours for a second, but he quickly shook it off and asked a boy who sat near him to work with him.
You pulled up a chair to Tsukki's desk and got to work on the packet of problems you were assigned to complete during the next two classes. You remained mostly in silence, dividing the work equally, but occasionally you shared glances and raised your eyebrows as a way to taunt each other.
As you started to run out of room on your paper and move far to the right side with your writing, your hand bumped Tsukki's. You could feel your heart drop and he quickly recoiled and pulled his hand away.
When you finished your allotment of problems for the day and set your pencil down, Tsukishima quickly grabbed your paper and starting checking over your work as you followed suit, looking over his.
He sighed, setting your paper down, free off mistakes. "Wow, you aren't quite as hopeless as I thought."
"Same to you..." you returned his completed problems, "If only you were as good at volleyball as you are at calculus."
"Like you would know," he returned your banter with a fervor, a quality you caught yourself enjoying a little.
"You'd think with four eyes you'd be a little more observant..."
"What?" He grasped to understand your insinuation.
"Look harder in the student section next time."
He sat in silence, floored, now knowing you had been watching him play. Is this what he had caught you and Yamaguchi discussing before? He felt like a fool, not being able to feel your malicious gaze on the court—not even considering that you might've been there.
Little did he know, it wasn't quite malice in your heart as you watched him play.
☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾ ☾
He left without saying a word when the bell rung, and flocked straight to Yamaguchi to walk with him to practice.
They made sure to walk out of the vicinity of the classroom before Yamaguchi broke the silence, "Tsukki?"
"Yes?"
"I'm not upset that you didn't partner with me, but uh... why her? I thought you kinda hated her."
"Oh, uh... I don't know. I didn't want her to work with you."
Yamaguchi looked Tsukki in the eyes, his curiosity peaking, "Do you have a crush on her?"
Tsukishima was completely taken aback, "A crush??" He hesitated, "Yamaguchi, don't say stuff like that."

KISS KISS FALL IN LOVE !
"Why the hell would you do that?!" "Did you think I wanted to?! Your germs... Ew.”
Blurb: A few glimpses of certain episodes if you and Tsukishima Kei were in a shoujo anime!
Genre/Tropes: academic rivals, slice of life, shoujo, romance, slow burn (?).
Reader: fem. (you will be addressed as 'Seiu' which is your supposed last name because i hate putting 'y/n' in my writings. it feels like a turn-off, for me.)
WC: 4.7k.
A/N: oh my god it has been so long?? this idea came from back in SEPTEMBER, on his birthday. and yes it took that long to finish *insert crying emoji*. this is my longest work so far (7 jan 24). but i don’t really like it? i think it’s tedious. i apologize for any grammar mistakes, and would love any feedbacks or critics *insert crying emoji again*.
“Aw, look at you,” He cooed, and you're actually contemplating on smashing your head straight into the glass window of your class rather than hearing his taunts to degrade your scores on this stupid, science quiz.
His pale, slender fingers came into your harsh gaze, watching him tap the wood of your desk in an unknown yet familiar rhythm, gazing down at you. “Why the sour face? You got a ninety-nine, your scores are higher than most in this class— ah!” He snapped his fingers like something suddenly clicked in his mind that he definitely hadn’t thought of before and that he definitely wasn’t using it to brag about it. “But I don’t think you’re the highest, though..”
Darn him for getting the highest. Darn him for getting a hundred.
You could just see him grinning like the fucking Cheshire cat even though your eyes are still glued on your scores.
Ninety-nine. And a little ‘good job’ note the science teacher wrote on the side, with a little smiley face next to it.
Now, why the hell did that smiley face seem like it's mocking you?
“Hey,” he crouched down, resting his forearms on the edge of your desk, and looked into your eyes, his smirk growing bigger. You looked back at him, and your eyes narrowed. “Thought you were crying for a sec.”
You felt offended and immediately went defensive. “I was not!” You exclaimed, accidentally slamming your arms on the desk louder than intended, resulting in dozens of heads turning, and a disapproving look of your teacher from the front of the class.
“Good. You were too quiet, made me uncomfortable.”
You opened your mouth to continue the argument, but before you could say anything, the teacher spoke. “Seiu! Tsukishima!” You both turned towards the teacher, and she gauged her eyes at you both. You knew what she meant, and so you slumped back in your chair defeatedly, while the blonde returned to his seat— that was unfortunately next to you— triumphantly.
“Remember the deal.” He whispered from his seat, scoffing while he took out his notebook and pens.
You sighed and clenched your jaw. “Fine. I’ll get you the darn strawberry shortcake after school.”
“I was afraid that you’d run off,” He was leaning against the wall, close to the gates of your school. “You can be a little cranky about saving a few pennies, don’t you?” He took off his headphones, letting out a small chuckle.
Yes, you can be cranky about money, but a promise is a promise.
There's this stupid bet, or dare I say a tradition where after every quiz, debate, and exam— the one who tops gets to ask the other to buy whatever they wish.
“The usual?” You asked, with the most deadpan expression you could’ve pulled. Tsukishima burst out laughing at that, pointing his finger at your face and mocking every little detail he could.
“It’s either you shut that darn mouth of yours or the strawberry shortcake—”
“Okay, okay! The— pfft— the strawberry shortcake, sure sure.”
You dragged him out of the school gates by the end of his uniform, and he laughed again.
So annoying.
He sees that you are leading him (dragging him) around the familiar streets that lead to the café that you both always went to, ever since freshman year.
He sighed. “The usual it is.”
A few moments passed by, and you both fell into a comfortable silence, which was almost too good to be true. You often just stared at the long shadows on the ground, following you and Tsukishima’s every little movement. Once in a while, crows would caw as they fly high up in the sky, making you look up to the orange-purple skies, the orange rays illuminating your eyes.
At times you overlooked nature, and sometimes you just lost yourself in it.
And at times you overlooked the way your heart beats faster when he looked at you like this— under the sunset where no other soul was near.
“What?” You asked, looking at him in the corner of your eye. Your heart beat faster when you saw him literally glowing under the sun, looking at you with a smile that seemed a whole lot more genuine than you’d like it to be.
He scoffed, staring up at the sky, and then at you. You noticed the two tiny twinkles of light in his golden brown eyes— wait, since when was it there and why are you noticing it just now?
“Nothing, pipsqueak.” He says, staring up ahead with a cheeky grin.
The familiar ding of the bell echoed through the empty, dim-lighted bakery, the nostalgic aroma of freshly baked bread and brewed coffee hits your nostrils, feeling at home.
A small smile curved on your lips, and a sigh of contentment escaped your lips. "Home sweet home." You said, eyes twinkling in fondness.
Making your way towards the counter, you paid for everything that you would be indulging, including his strawberry shortcake that looked ridiculously good. Sitting in the very corner of the small shop, you got yourself lost in the atmosphere as the rain fell outside.
You rested your head atop the wooden table, eyes watching out the race of rain droplets to see which one won, just like when you were a kid— when life was nothing but sunshine and rainbows, unlike now, where everything felt so nonchalant to you, for some reason.
Shamelessly, you kept your mouth stuffed with the cream bread you'd always eat, ever since you discovered this precious of a place. Glancing at the male who's apparently just as caught up with the rain as you are, stuffing his mouth with some strawberry, you begin talking (with your mouth full, still.)
"Are you ever going to try something else?" Your eyes shot to the cake, then back to him. He scrunched up his nose, an expression of disgust as he saw your stuffed mouth. You rolled your eyes, not caring. "It's not like you ever tried anything else— and stop eating like that. It's not like the bread would run off—"
"It's not like the bread would run off." You mimicked him, and he gritted his teeth. "Annoying little shit." He whispered, sipping at the warm coffee to try to keep his cool.
"I didn't know you had a habit of talking to yourself." You smirked, glancing at the tall, clear jug filled with water right in between you both on the table, doing a splendid job at reflecting himself on it. His eyes shot open, glaring at you and the poor jug.
"You weren't this talkative earlier," he said, setting his coffee on the table. "Finally getting over your marks?" He asked, his smirk returning which made your eyes roll.
"Bastard."
“Oi, Seiu.” He almost grumbled out your name, your ears catching the sounds of flipping papers, even through the headphones sitting on your head.
“What?” You replied groggily, taking off your headphones. You’re just about to fall asleep but he ruined it!
You were slumped next to him on the train, temple resting against the cold, metal railing on your side. Maybe it’s because of the scorching weather this July that you felt so incredibly exhausted— all your willpower was drained out at school earlier, and coming to cram school to violate your energy and brain further certainly doesn’t help your current state in any way.
You feel as if your soul is going to be sucked out, yet he’s still reviewing the papers? Doesn’t he feel tired or something?
“English essay papers. The one the teacher graded earlier.” His palm was lazily exposed in front of you, expecting the marked sheets to arrive in it upon his demand. Tsukishima doesn’t know what ‘asking’ is.
“You can still study?” You mumbled, eyes narrowing as you rummaged through your bag. Wrinkles formed on your forehead when your eyes turned into thin slits trying to search for what you wanted, the blur decorating your eyes not subsiding as quickly as you wanted it to.
“You’re going to get old faster than anyone else with that frown of yours.” His voice was lower than usual, but the playful spark remained. His banter was replied to only by the click of your tongue. You’re too tired to joke around.
When you finally found it, you shoved the crumpled sheets into his hand and slumped your head back onto the railing. “Don’t you know what rest is?” You said, sighing as you got into a more comfortable position, forgetting about the device hanging on your neck.
“I need to work harder to beat you.” His eyes narrowed as he read the messy scribbling of your writing, but he can’t deny how he adored your talent to form a masterpiece with a foreign land’s words, every. single. time.
“You’ve already beaten me a lot of times, didn’t you?” At times like this when your consciousness stays for the sake of a conversation, you’re more truthful, or maybe even less hostile. You didn’t have the energy to have an ongoing banter with him no more.
Even though your vision was black, you could feel his eyes glued to you. You were expecting some witty comebacks to launch from his mouth, but he was silent, for a while. It’s deafening.
It almost makes you uneasy.
“I’m not as smart as you, Seiu.” He finally blurted out, but it was so quiet.
Your eyelids fluttered open just slightly as if you couldn’t believe your ears.
He beat you every single time, so what nonsense is spitting out from his mouth? Did the weather get to him too? Until he’s feeling ‘under the weather’? (With all puns intended.)
Ironically as that thought finished, the rain fell. Hard.
You moved the back of your head towards the glass window instead, the coldness of the rain droplets spreading through the glass sent a wave of relief onto your body.
You eyed him from the corner of your eye. That bad posture, the metal frame that sits atop the bridge of his nose that looked like it was about to fall any second from now, the crumpled sheets that were lucky enough to feel the caress of his slender fingers—
You’re doing it again. You’re too observant at times like this, it’s more than necessary.
“You’re insane.” You snorted, closing your eyes again.
“You’re a fucking genius without trying, Seiu.” It’s his time to sigh, almost frustrated. “You don’t even try.”
It’s true. You’re lazy. You hardly even try and yet you score all of your exams.
“If ever someday you decided to pick up a book and scribble more notes..” He drifted off, and you’re kind of eager for him to continue.
“I’m done for.” He mumbled.
What a compliment, you thought. Maybe you would’ve grinned cheekily if you had the energy, but you don’t.
“Wow.” That’s all you could utter.
You could hear him huff as if he was regretting what he said.
“Just don’t get all romantic and don’t sleep on my shoulder.” He mumbled, the sound of turning pages starting again.
“I don’t want your cooties either.”
“Good night, Seiu.”
You both snorted out loud.
It was P.E., and another class had joined yours’ to play.
It was a warming-up session, and everyone needed to jog a few laps before playing.
You weren’t exactly the sporty type that had a lot of stamina, and you never liked running. The summer was taking a toll on you again, and you were slower than usual— than everyone. You were at the very back when the other girls were a few meters away. You’re not too slow, but not that fast enough.
Behind you were the boys, from your class and the other. You didn’t pay much to them and kept jogging.
You did notice a couple of times that Tsukishima was staring at you, and even when you caught his gaze, his eyes were still on you. It was nothing new, just that same old glare he always gives you.
You heard laughter erupting from behind, footsteps becoming louder as a group of guys caught up beside you. One of them pushed the other and he ended up bumping into you hard. You fell, scraping your knee and palms in the process.
All you heard next was laughter. Mocking ones, from both the guys and— whom you thought was— your friends.
It turns out the one who bumped into you was someone you had a few problems with in the past. He was your… not enough to be a former lover, far from a friend but yet, he’s no stranger. He held a grudge against you, it seems.
The guy laughed along, as well.
It was only for a few seconds the scene unfolded, but it felt like an eternity of humiliation.
Did Tsukishima join them?
You slowly got yourself up, the burn in your knee only increasing with each inch you elevated from the ground.
Halfway through, someone grabbed your upper arm and shoulder tight, slowly helping you up. Those pale, slender arms..
Tsukishima.
Exaggerated gasps were heard, and whispers were accentuated. Honestly, you would’ve acted the same way, if you were them.
Tsukishima… helped. He didn’t make fun of you.
You heard him click his tongue, and you raised your head just enough to see the scowl on his face, and the way he glared at the guys from earlier.
“Can’t you fucking see she was next to you?” He cursed, and everyone fell silent. Everyone was always a little wary of him, even scared. His height was intimidating, but seeing him in such a way was a lot scarier.
Even you haven’t seen him this angry.
The teacher jogged over, a tense expression on his face.
“Tsukishima-kun, enough. You can go on and I’ll put her aside—“
“Don’t bother, sensei.” He quickly cut the teacher off, eyes glued to the fuckers that were too irrelevant to be in the same place as he is.
“I don’t feel like playing football with people who are clearly blind.” He snickered, almost mocking them.
He brought you under a tree, and you freed your wrist from his grasp and slumped against the tree. Your head was down low as if the skin of your legs had some ancient scripture that you were so persistent on staring at. A large shadow emerged, and turns out it was him standing in front of you with his hands on his hips, eyes ahead staring at the other students.
Don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry don’t cry.
“Don’t worry.” He tried to reassure, but he sounded a little too bitter— he’s not used to it. “I won’t let them see how ugly you are when you cry.”
You cried anyway.
“Know how to treat a wound?” He asked as if he wouldn’t already do it himself as he rummaged through the cabinets.
Your silence in speaking and a few sniffles are enough to tell.
He sighed, reaching for a box filled with stuff that’ll help heal your wound— only on the outside, though. It’ll only help what’s on the surface, only helping your scraped skin, but the humiliation inside? Who knows how long the tear of your heart will last? Who knows who is going to tape it up for you, saying everything will be okay?
A small part of your heart’s tear was stitched up already at the sight of him getting down on one knee in front of you, getting the band-aids, antiseptic, tweezers, and cotton wools out.
“What’s the point in hiring nurses if they’re just never going to show up to work?” He rambled on like an old grandma, complaining how he needed to do everything himself.
But really, even if the nurses were here and you were being tended to, he’ll never really leave you. He’s treating you like you needed all the help in the world as if you were in a coma or something.
The rustling of the bed sheets when you squirmed, the annoyingly strong scent of the antiseptic throughout the whole room, and Tsukishima’s rambles as he treated your wound made you… strangely emotional.
Your shoulders shook rather violently, and your gaze blurred with the salty liquid once again.
His eyes widened upon taking in your appearance, drawing the cotton wool soaked with medicine away from your wound as quickly as time allowed it.
“Woah, woah, woah, hey! Does it hurt that bad?!” He almost yelled, and did he not panic like the world was going to end.
“Okay, look— okay I’ll stop! I told you to prepare yourself beforehand—”
“Arigato, Tsukishima-kun.”
You wailed like your life had crumbled— looking back, it was kind of funny with the snot and everything, he’ll definitely tease you for that later— and you sobbed your heart away. You didn’t even cry like this when a relative died but you cried when someone insisted on treating your wound? Wow.
And Tsukishima? His face could be taken as pure gold. He was dumbfounded, with wide eyes while staring at you crying like so. In literal words, it’s best to say he malfunctioned. You were crying way harder than before, you’re crying harder now than when you fell!
You keep sucking back in the snot that threatens to goo down their way, wiping your tears rather harshly, but it kept coming down anyway. It was embarrassing, but you couldn’t stop crying.
You heard him sigh.
“You’re disgusting, Seiu.” He said, though not much disgust was evident in his voice.
You felt a soft cloth arrive on your face, the fabric particularly covering your nose. You stopped your wail and looked at him, blinking rapidly as you were confused about what he was trying to do.
“Blow it out.” He said defeatedly, sighing as he looked away.
Sprettttt!
He crunched his nose upon hearing the noise, his glasses lifted slightly in the process before settling down to its original position.
“Again.”
Sprreettttttttt!
“I kind of feel bad for Seiu.”
You stopped dead in your tracks, and so did Tsukishima.
It was that group of guys again, and the one who spoke was the one that, well… the one that bumped into you.
“You still like her?” One of his friends said, and the others fell silent.
You both were standing on the top of the stairs like a fool, like deers caught in the headlights. But the question is, why did Tsukishima stop too?!
“I don’t!” He quickly denied but the others burst out into laughter and a series of teasing ‘oooh's.
Your class was just right there. Why did they have to walk through the hallway where your class was located, when there were a dozen others? You don’t want to come across them! Your cheeks were puffy, your eyes were red. You didn’t want them to know you cried, especially not when they were the reason. (Well, partly of the reason).
“Seiu’s quite sensitive. What if she’s like.. I don’t know!” He grumbled.
“Aw, you worried that she cried? You still like her!” Another laughter erupted.
“That’s her class, isn’t it? Where is she?”
They were peeking through the windows, but of course, you’re not there, you’re hiding in the corner of the hallway like a fool.
“She’s not there.” One said, confused.
“Oi… Tsukishima’s not there either.” Some of them gasped, and some of them went silent.
“I think.. Seiu and Tsukishima—”
Tsukishima grabbed your hand, his gaze hard. He wasn’t looking at you though, but just staring into the clear windows in front of you both, as if he was waiting to get caught or.. as if he was ready to do something.
“Don’t say things like that!” The guy defensively said, his voice raising an octave. He still has feelings for you, it seems.
“But don’t you think it makes sense? They’re always together,”
They’re getting closer. Their footsteps are getting louder, and your body just tensed. Tsukishima squeezed your hand harder, and you looked at him through your sore, reddish eyes.
You wanted to get out of here, but you can’t just run to somewhere else in the building. You need to get into class, and it’s almost time. You’ll get a cleaning punishment if you’re late, and you don’t want to involve Tsukishima in any of it already. He’s done more than enough.
“—For the last time, they are not!” They were just around the corner, and their shoes came into your sight.
“I just.. I just want to apologize to Seiu and—”
Everything shut down.
Your ears were ringing, succumbing to a forced silence, your whole body refusing to react to anything else.
Your back against the wall.
His hand on your waist.
Your glasses clashing onto each other’s.
His lips on top of yours.
Tsukishima… was kissing you.
Shielding you, almost.
A loud, erratic pair of footsteps ran to the opposite side, kicking you both out to reality once again.
Then followed by a few others.
The ringing slowly subsided, and your irises moved.
Oh, they’re gone.
Your irises drifted to the ones in front of you, the pair being the most nastiest, gorgeous golden brown eyes you have ever seen.
His eyes have twinkles in them.
Don’t know if it has always been there or if you only noticed it now, but it’s pretty.
Ethereal.
The loud ring of the school bell rang, and you both flinched and covered your ears— you’re literally below one.
It snapped you back to the current situation. For real, this time.
Wide eyes, you looked at him, gasping.
A little too late to act shocked now, but oh well.
“Why did you do that?!” You yelled into his face, mouth agape. He seems just as shocked as you were, cheeks painted with crimson tints.
“Did you think I wanted to?!” He looked away, eyes frantic.
“Your germs…” He covered his lips with his hand, wiping it down gently with his palm. “Ew.” He stared at his palm blankly.
Is that a cover-up… or was he actually disgusted?
You bolted into class.
And so did he. (Well, after a few seconds of standing there like a pole).
You couldn't help but glance at him throughout the entire day, barely even focusing on what's been taught ahead of you. You kept fidgeting with whatever you could, with your fingers, sliding your feet from one place to the other and whatnot.
No matter how much you tried, your gaze would return to him.
You saw how he'd stare at you from the corners of his eyes, albeit you pretended not to notice. You noticed how he glided his fingertips over his lips, over and over. You noticed how he zoned out, just like you did.
He barely ever loses focus.
Was he thinking of the kiss, just like how you did?
You had hoped that was the case so you wouldn't be the only one who looked like a dumbstruck, confused fool. And you just prayed that he wouldn't pretend as if nothing had happened because it wasn't. It was one hell of a situation to just throw it over your heads as if it wasn't anything— you both seriously need to talk.
Without noticing, the vibrant azure skies turned orange, and the familiar tone of ringing echoed through the school's speakers, noting that it was time to return home.
You got up as slow as you could, eyeing Tsukishima who was frozen in his seat. You packed your things and shoved them into your bag, the chair screeching quietly across the floor as you stood up.
"Tsukki." Your voice knocked him back from his series of pondering, flinching upon hearing you speak. He looked at you, almost nervous.
"Yeah?"
"Time to go home." You mumbled, stating the obvious. Might as well mention that the grass is green.
He packed his bag in no rush. It was as if he was trying to slow down his moves, though his intentions remained unclear. He looked guilty almost, his lips pressed into a thin line.
"We need to talk about earlier." You blurted out, and he froze. His bent figure slowly straightened, and a long shadow of his figure emerged and decorated the walls— how did you even manage to catch that? Well, maybe because you were looking at everything but his eyes.
"I thought you didn't want to talk about it." He mumbled, finally facing you. He stared down at you before looking away, scratching at the back of his head.
You took a few steps backward, sitting against the still of an opened window. The wind gushes through your air, making you shiver slightly. The heat was no joke, and the intensity of the situation only escalated it.
"How could I not?" Your voice turned quiet as you stared at the ground. "I can't just go on and pretend nothing happened." You began fiddling with your fingers.
"Why did you do it?" You whispered almost shakily.
"I don't know." He whispered back.
"Do you... like me?"
Not once did it ever cross your mind to have feelings for him, but now you knew. Now you know why at certain times you tend to be so observant of every little thing that he does. Like how beautiful his eyes look under the sunlight, how gently he turns the pages of your paper sheets as if he was afraid to leave a single crumple, how he manages to insult you every time but never goes too far to actually hurt your feelings—
Now you knew.
The pounding of your heart was because of him. The very presence of him around you calms you down like after a storm and yet manages to roar it wildly and harder than ever.
You, Seiu, have fallen for him.
Your question was left hanging with no audible answer that left his mouth. Silence.
Something bottled up inside you and it was going to explode.
"I can't believe you." You snarled and gripped the metal still of the window. "Is kissing a random girl in the name of helping just so normal to you? Is that how you help? Without even considering how she feels— how I feel?"
"Seiu—"
"For you, it might not be anything important," You sniffled, tears rolling down. You lost count of how many times you cried. "But it is important, for me—"
Your breath hitched when his lips landed on yours again.
Damn, at least let me finish. You thought.
His fingers crept onto your cheeks, cradling them ever so gently. His thumb wiped away the tears wetting your skin. He tilted his head to get a better angle and his kiss got softer by each second.
"Can't you at least kiss me back?" He mumbled against your lips, eyes still closed as if he was afraid to see your reaction.
You finally closed your eyes, moving your lips again his own by following an unknown flow. The second he got a response from you, his other hand pulled you in closer by your waist, pressing your bodies together. The sudden touch combined with the wind that attacked your back made you shiver. His hand moved and pressed onto your back, rubbing up and down to soothe you.
You let out a shaky breath through your nose, and the wave of relief and pleasure spread throughout your body into every vein and muscle. Your hands found their way linked at the back of his head in which you daringly pulled him closer.
You couldn't get enough. Kiss after kiss, breath after breath, you caught his lips again once you both sucked in a breath to continue. His glasses kept clashing with yours with every movement, and he attempted to take it off.
"It's okay, leave them on." You mumbled and took his hand away. You love his square glasses. You'd never want him to take it off.
He only smirked against your lips, the adorable sharp fang of his showing. "You didn't even let me finish earlier, and now you just can't stop, can't you?" He sighed and pressed his lips to yours again.
"And yeah, I like you, Seiu."

Beads of sweat cover both your foreheads when Tsukishima moves again, you can feel every inch of cock in cunt, every vein when he moves in and out of you. His and yours cum dripping out with each thrust, your eyes roll to the back of your head when Tsukishima’s cock repeatedly pokes you sweetspot.

strawberry shortcake
featuring: tsukishima kei from haikyuu!!
cw: female!reader, housemates, college au, slow burn
wc: 1k
–
ah, what a long day.
you wave at your classmates as they bid goodbye, telling you that they'll be taking their leave now, in which you replied with ‘thanks for today’ and ‘take care’.
after your classes at the university today by 5PM, you couldn't go home immediately because of a group paper assigned just a while ago by a strict professor and it needs to be submitted tomorrow morning already.
so you really had no choice.
and your group was supposed to work on it at the university library. but having to think that you all would starve in the process, it was decided by all of you to be at a local café instead.
now, you and your groupmates managed to get it done before eight o'clock in the evening. you were indeed thankful it ended not too late, and you know it's because of having to be aligned with them—responsible students like you yourself.
a yawn escaped your lips—causing your eyes to water—just after you ended putting back your things inside your bag, only leaving your phone on the table.
then you remember sending a message to your housemate about being home late today, telling him not to bother cooking you a share of dinner.
you picked up your phone and opened two unread messages from him which were sent two hours ago. it was an ‘alright, do your best.’ and a ‘take care on your way home.’ after.
a ghost of a smile was unmistakably felt on your lips. you cleared your throat and placed your phone back at the table.
i'll get going now, then.
when you got up on your chair, a café attendant also went to your table to clean up. she gave her thanks and told you to come back again in which you replied with a nod and a smile.
going down the stairs, you already made up your mind to walk straight towards the exit—not until your eyes glanced at the counter, and a certain dessert caught your attention.
“i'm home…” you announced in a low voice soon enough as you noticed the dim lights from the living room by the entryway while placing your shoes on the rack.
you silently made your way inside the apartment, a new sight greeting you. you stopped your tracks to double check the situation.
tsukishima kei is peacefully asleep in his pullover and black shorts. however, he was in a sitting position. his arms are crossed, resting on top of his knees close to his chest. he still had his glasses on and his lips rested on his wrist.
your eyes traveled to his surroundings where you saw books, a notebook, and a pen on the coffee table. was he studying here? but why, though? it was unusual since you were pretty sure he had a study area in his room in the first place.
don't tell me… no. you clearly dismissed the idea.
why would he wait for me? you thought.
you walked towards where he was, put down your things on the couch just right behind his figure, and kneeled beside him. doing so, you now have a closer look on his sleeping face.
he looked like he had dozed off for a while, maybe at least twenty minutes or so. he also looked serene, but i'm just as sure his sleeping position would give him body cramps after.
so it was obvious you needed to wake him up.
you closed the distance between the two of you a bit. as you were about to reach out for his arm, your peripheral vision landed on the coffee table—the light from a phone screen taking away your attention.
out of curiosity, you give in and divert your gaze. your eyebrows furrowed as you realize your conversation in the messages app is open.
but why, though? was he expecting a reply?
your eyes stared a bit more, until it wandered to the upper part of the screen where you saw the contact name written. it was just an emoji but it profusely had your face heat up as you realized.
strawberry shortcake.
you inhaled as you felt the fasting thump of your chest. turning your gaze away from the table made your eyes back on the sleeping blonde guy which had you startled how close your faces were.
goodness, you were confused, yes. and it was accompanied by rosy cheeks and a fast heartbeat.
you cleared your throat and tried your best to calm your rattled insides. exhaling one last time, a shaky hand of yours reached out to the hem of your housemate's pullover cuffs.
“kei…” you called in a calm manner. “wake up…”
of course, as expected, it wasn't effective enough. so you proceeded to shake his forearm a bit, carefully calling him by his name again.
“what are you doing here?” you asked when he already moved and started waking up. “you always study in your room,” you point out.
“i was waiting for you…” the sound of his voice was groggy and hoarse from sleeping, and it was noticeable how his thoughts were still hazy.
why would tsukishima kei wait for me? you then thought for the second time.
and as you expected to be a panic mess, you surprisingly weren't. instead, a chuckle escapes your lips seeing the adorable face tsukishima kei is unconsciously making right now.
his eyelids are threatening to close from time to time, making you purse out your lips to prevent yourself from smiling further.
knowing that he won't be back to sleep despite his actions, you slowly got up on your feet. yet before you go to your own room, you got a hold of the dessert you bought from the café a while ago.
the sliced strawberry shortcake you brought home for tsukishima kei was placed in a cake slice clear container with a cute disposable fork.
without a word, you placed the cake just beside his still lit phone screen. then you took your bag and went to your room.
you didn't hear a single syllable from him even after you were done with your night routine, preparing to sleep. and before you drift off to dreamland, you purposely sent him a message.
from: 🍰
goodnight :) 🍰
what you didn't know was when tsukishima kei is slowly eating the strawberry shortcake you gave him, he received your latest message that made him realize that you possibly saw your contact name he set on his phone.

🔞Do You Think Could You Watch The Movie?🔞
You were busy studying in your room. Your attention shifted to that direction as the phone next to you vibrated.
The incoming message was from Tsuki
“Hey Y/N! I have an idea!"
You unlocked the screen and started typing
“Tell me Tsuki”
“A movie that I have been waiting for a long time is coming to the cinema tomorrow. Shall we go together?"
"Don't you have practice tomorrow?"
“I say let's go after practice. Isn't it?"
You couldn't turn down your boyfriend. It would be fun to watch movies with him
"Ok it's possible. We haven't been able to meet for a week because of the intensity of the exams."
"Did you miss me?"
You could imagine Tsuki's sullen expression as he wrote this
"Yes I miss you. What about you?"
"I missed you too. I want to long for you in the cinema with you”
“Which movie are we going to?”
“Let it be surprised. But I can say that it is a romantic movie”
“You and watching romantic movies? I wouldn't believe it if I saw it in my dreams"
"I am serious"
“Oh Tsuki. Did you get a flower pot on your head, baby?"
"I do not know. Even at the once in a blue moon, I wanted to watch a romantic movie with my girlfriend.”
“Well then. Let's go see that romantic movie. I will look forward to tomorrow”
"Me too. Don't be too late. Tomorrow will be a nice day. I love you"
"I love you too"
You were already excited, but it seemed strange that you were always watching action movies with Tsuki, but suddenly you were going to watch romantic movies. What was Tsuki planning? What was going through his mind and what was he after?
The thoughts that had probably crossed Tsuki's mind had aroused you a bit.
You felt something move between your legs. There was a burning sensation from her clitoris to the entrance of the vagina. Where did this anger come from for you all of a sudden?
You couldn't resist the urges that invaded your mind, sending signals to touch every part of your body, imagining Tsuki touching you.
You were no longer able to concentrate on the lesson.
You collected your notebooks and books and placed them neatly
It was late. Everyone in your family should have gone to bed already. After that time, he would not enter your room.
You took off your sweatpants and undressed, leaving only the white T-shirt you were wearing and your underwear underneath.
You lay on the bed and crawl under the covers.
Closing your eyes, you lower your hand to your stomach and pull up your shirt slightly. You lightly squeezed her bare breasts.
Tsuki hadn't touched those breasts yet. Neither of you had a sexual experience. It was the first time you realized that you wanted him so for no reason.
You were assuming that Tsuki touches her stomach first and then her bare breasts. He seduces you by whispering nasty words in your ear. Every time your hand touched your body, you felt Tsuki's touch
You felt yourself gradually getting wet as you immersed yourself in it. Moistened between her legs, you pressed your fingers lightly on her clit through her panties and tucked your hand between them, closing her legs
You murmured inaudibly as you gently massaged your clitoris.
“Mmh… Tsuki. Yes I want too. Touch me"
The fingers stroking her clit were for a moment not yours but Tsuki's.
You were stroking heavily. However, after a while, you couldn't bear to caress yourself at a slow pace. You got a little more aggressive and pulled her crotch-length underwear down to expose her cunt to massage harder.
You stretched your legs straight and stretched as if you were stretching.
You started to spread the wetness of your vagina towards her clitoris. At the same time you were responding to Tsuki's dream voice
"You're too wet for me aren't you y/n?"
You whispered that question to him as if whispering in his ear.
"Yes. I'm too wet for you, Tsuki. My cunt is so wet.”
You slowly moved your hips where you were and started massaging by pressing your hand harder on her clitoris. With her free hand, she pulled her shirt up, revealing her breasts, and grabbed the end of one of her breasts. You were squeezing slowly and rubbing her wet cunt on the other hand
“I'm too wet for you, Tsuki. Fuck me. Make me cry, fuck me"
The idea of Tsuki fucking her cunt brutally and hard just drove you crazy. You were getting closer to orgasm. You were circling your pussy faster and harder. You wanted to be under Tsuki. Both of you moans filling the room, wrapping your legs tightly around her waist, Tsuki's dick widening your vaginal walls...
You longed for Tsukishima with all your being
“Ahh!!! Fuck me Tsuki…mmh! Get into me! Nhh! tsuki I'm cumming. Mmm! Ahhh!”
With your eyes closed, orgasm hit you like high-volt electricity.
In his imagination, Tsuki had ejaculated inside him and now his head was on your chest. You were both out of breath.
You were stroking his sweaty hair.
If even the imagination made you reach orgasm in seconds, who knows what it would be like in reality?
After you ejaculated, you pulled your panties back on you and put on your pajamas underneath. As she closed her eyes, her boyfriend's face flashed before her eyes. You lay face down on the pillow and hugged Tsuki's chest tightly as if laying your head
It was the next day. After practice, you met with Tsuki to go to the movies. He showed the ticket for two people he bought online to the attendant at the entrance and you went inside. There was still time before the movie started. You went and bought large popcorn and two drinks
"We'll eat together," he handed you the large corn. He took a handful of it and stuck it in his mouth.
“Oh! Slowly! If you devour them all, there will be no corn to eat during the movie.”
“Draw it mild, I only bought a handful,” he replied with his mouth full.
“I know you. This will be 10 handfuls later”
"Come on come on! Let's just go and sit down instead of chatting here."
You entered the hall and went up to the top.
" Alright here! This is our place,” he pointed to you.
Your place was double seat.
"Ah! Shall we sit in the double seat?”
"Certainly! What did you think? I've thought about this before"
“Oh Tsuki! You are very sweet"
He showed you the way, bypassing his compliment
“Come sit down late”
You sit in your seat. You had a little chat during the commercials. Tsuki couldn't help but eat the big popcorn you put between you.
"I told you, didn't I, that you couldn't hold back?"
“Then you eat too. We didn't buy it for you to look at your ornament"
At that time, you heard the announcement that the movie had started. The lights were out and the intro of the movie was on the big screen.
As the movie started, Tsukishima put his hand on your shoulder. You hugged him and started enjoying the movie.
The movie was a French romantic movie. You still couldn't hide your surprise as you knew your boyfriend wasn't into movies like this.
You were almost halfway through the movie and Tsuki turned his head towards you when the couple kissing scene in the movie came. She grabbed your chin and made you look at her face
"Now!" he whispered to you, signaling
His lips found yours. An innocent romantic kiss then became filled with lust and passion.
Your tongues were dancing with each other. You were exchanging saliva while you tasted each other
The kissing scene had passed but you had been kissing for about ten minutes.
“Mmhh! Tsuki,” you said, separating your lips from hers.
He buried his head in his neck and whispered that nasty phrase in his ear
“You think you can watch the movie?”
Your pulse suddenly rose. Something was going up and down inside of him. Your blood was boiling like boiling water. It was as if something warm was flowing into him. Your cheeks were crimson. Your heart was beating like it was dying to come out of your chest
“This…what does this mean now Tsuki? What did we come here to do, not watch a movie?”
He grabbed your chin and turned his face to the screen.
“Of course we will watch the movie. But…in another way”
His hand caressed her leg over his jeans. All your hairs stood on end. You were blushing up to your ears
You felt Tsuki's hot breath on your neck
"You want it too, right?"
You were stuck where you were. It occurred to you that you masturbated last night, imagining Tsuki in an immoral way, and you were humiliated by your embarrassment.
“Tell me what you want…I dreamed of you like this last night. My hand is on your wet pussy and yours is on my dick. We will make cum each other. Come on baby. You can do"
His hand went to the zipper of his pants and he pulled your pants down. He shoved his hand into his pants and felt wetness over his panties.
“You are already drenched. Isn't it normal for me to want to fuck your cunt in this situation? Can I spoil your sweet virgin pussy, honey?
Tsuki's words had driven you crazy. You were too aroused and you couldn't help yourself anymore
“Oh Tsuki! Don't say such embarrassing things"
"Why is that? Even if you don't want it, it's clear what your body wants. Pump my dick while I finger you. Let's cum together. Don't tell me to do something to show. If you're going to yell... like punishment from punishment, beautiful"
“Then don't hurt me. Don't stick your finger in me. Break my virginity with your dick, not with your finger"
“I want that too. Now concentrate on the movie and give me your hand"
You gave your hand to Tsuki and suddenly you found yourself holding a thick and hard object. This wood as hard thing was nothing but Tsuki's upturned tool
“Move your hand up and down”
He slid his fingers under her panties and started caressing her sticky, juicy cunt. You were playing with his dick too
“How wet your pussy is for me. Did you want me that much? Do you need my dick that much?"
“Tsuki…mmhh! If you keep talking like that…I'm going to want to suck your dick in. We can't do this publicly."
He groaned quietly as you pushed your hips into his hand.
“Agh! Go on y/n. You are doing very well”
You pressed your free hand to the one under Tsuki's panties
“Pump a little harder”
You were satisfying each other at the same time. You were slowly climbing the heights of pleasure, savoring the moment.
You managed to restrain yourself so as not to moan loudly. Fortunately, everyone in the theater was focused on the movie except you. It seemed pretty hard for them to notice you.
“A…Are you cumming?” he gasped
"Yes. Speed up Tsuki. More cruel to me
die"
“This is nothing more. One day I will fuck your cunt very hard, so nice"
You were so close to ejaculation and couldn't respond to the sheer pleasure you received with the intense arousal between your legs.
You moaned so only you and your boyfriend could hear.
“T…Tsuki. I'm cumming”
“Mmm… me too”
He let out a deep groan, and within seconds you felt something warm flow into your hand. At that moment, you were also empty. Your vagina was beating like a heart and you could feel the beat all over your body
You both took a deep breath. You were in the last minutes of the movie. Tsuki cleaned himself with a wet tissue from his bag and rolled up his pants. You zipped your pants open too
You had a daring and insane sexual experience in public for the first time with your boyfriend
“Tsuki…that was so much fun let's do it again”
After leaving the hall, as you walked towards the cinema exit, Tsuki wrapped his arm around your neck and pulled you towards him. He hissed softly at you, sucking on your earlobe
"Next time I want your beautiful lips on my dick, not your hand"
You turned and placed a kiss from where her cheek ended to where her neck started. You inhale the scent you love
“I will do that too. But I want you inside me. You should ruin my virginity"
"OK well. Let's be prepared next time. 'Cause I'm gonna push you so hard baby"

Hello!!! Can you do this request with kenma, tsukishima and suna pls???? 🥺🥺
" WIPING KISSES! "
summary. you wipe their kisses off (pt2)
characters. kenma, tsukishima, suna
warnings. gn!reader, none!
a/n. i love this prompt, it’s so easy to write :P
KENMA
☆ kenma isn’t usually very physically affectionate, but he likes to kiss your hands a lot. it’s simple and quick, and not that noticeable to other people. however, this particular time he kissed the back of your hand, you wiped it on your sweater directly after. he noticed, but didn’t really say anything because he hadn’t thought much of it at the time. but as the day went on, he realized that you were doing it every single time he kissed your hand. he knows you though, and he’s quick to catch on that you’re messing with him. he’s mildly amused at best, but doesn’t really get the point. you’re trying to provoke him, right? it kinda worked… he‘s not necessarily annoyed, but he doesn’t like that you’re wiping them off.
"quit it."
TSUKISHIMA
☆ he notices and instantly scowls at you. it was kind of your fault for making it so obvious though. he kissed your forehead and you immediately wiped it off with your hoodie sleeve, a disgusted look on your face. it was clearly fake and all a joke, seeing as you laughed right after, but he got petty nonetheless. you apologize through giggles when you see his annoyed expression, but he only rolls his eyes. he eventually gives in, like he always does, but you have to make it up to him by kissing him literally everywhere.
"fine then, wipe my kiss off. see if you get another one."
SUNA
☆ he was taking some selfies with you, and he gave your cheek a kiss for one of them. he was sort of rapid fire clicking, so he actually got a picture of you wiping the kiss off directly after. he looks at you with a confused expression, saying something like "the fuck was that?" you wave him off, but he just pulls up the picture he got and starts examining in. he doesn’t say anything else, just looking at you with an expecting look, silently telling you to explain yourself. you crack and tell him it was a prank, just to rile him up and see what’d he do. he rolls his eyes and places another kiss to your cheek, watching to make sure you don’t wipe this one off too.
"you trying to be cute?"

2:53 am
"kei." no response. you know tsukishima has to get up early for work, but the window across from your bed is open, allowing the night breeze to creep in and sting your face. you could get up yourself, but that's what husbands are for, right?
you twist around, trying to wiggle out of your husband's grasp so you can take a better look at his sleeping face. he has an arm wrapped firmly around your waist, the other supporting your neck to, in his words, 'protect his ears from your constant complaints about your sore neck in the morning'.
"honey?" you poke his cheek, smiling to yourself when he grunts in response. tsukishima has always been a light sleeper. you lay in silence for a few seconds before he finally lets out a sigh, opening his eyes to look at you.
"what do you want?"
you muster up your biggest doe eyes, knowing that he hates getting out of bed just as much as you do. "close the window for me?"
"no. you do it."
you sigh dramatically, gesturing at his arms wrapped firmly around you. "i would love to, but someone is holding me hostage, so i think you're going to have to do it."
tsukishima rolls his eyes, untangling his arms from your body. "problem solved." he holds back a smile when you frown and pull the blankets away from him, turning your back towards him. you're so cute. tsukishima would do anything you ask of him without hesitation, but he can't help but tease you a bit first. he'll never get tired of your reactions, and he loves that he can be a little snarky with you.
you sigh again, this time louder and more pointed, pretending to shiver just to show your husband how cold you really are, and how cruel he is for not helping. "if only someone could hold me right now...", you trailed off.
"ok, do you want me to help you or not?" he finally gives in, getting up to reach for his glasses. you win, as usual. you turn back to face him again with a smile as bright as sunshine, and despite all of the years you've been together, his heart still stops for a second. wow. okay, maybe he is obsessed with you, but he can't help it. you've clearly worked your magic on him, considering the fact that he's getting out of the bed for you when he has to be awake in a few hours. he goes to close the windows with a firm click, walking back to his side of bed.
"kei...since you're already up...", he looks back to see your guilty smile, an empty mug in your hands. "please? last thing, i swear." he give you a look that reads, "you're lucky i love you." (you know you're the luckiest person in the world.)
he takes your mug and you hear his quiet footsteps making their way to the kitchen. he comes back, handing you a mug full of warm water. once you take a sip, he takes the mug from you again, placing it on your nightstand.
"i poisoned that," he quips, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead before finally lying down and snaking his arms around your waist, pulling you in closer to him. the only reason he hates getting out of bed is that he has to let go of you, but he doesn't need to say that. he's sure you already know.

help! we're getting married!? — k. tsukishima
cws; gn!reader, swearing, kissing, sleeping in one bed NO SUS possible ooc and not proofread.
wc; 1227
"do you want to get married?"
you blink, thinking you may have misheard.
"do you want to get married?" he repeats. "to me."
what. you stare at the plate in your hands, dumbfounded. in no way are you prepared for this — today's just a normal saturday night. you're bent over the dishwasher, in your PJs and your old frayed slides. your sweaty hair sticks to your damp forehead, and your hands are covered in grease and soap.
tsukishima is at the table, doing taxes. he's not dressed for any particular occasion, in a loose white button-up and dark coloured slacks. neither of you are in any position for a proposal; his lunch is still half-eaten on the table, and you're both tired and sweaty, and neither of you are dressed well enough for this. but most importantly, you arent even dating!
he pushes his glasses up with a finger, staring at you with his usual lack of emotion. "do you have any hearing problems i haven't heard about?"
"no? are you joking?"
'do i look like i'm joking?" he retorts.
"no, but—"
"there you go, got your answer, didn't you?"
"we arent even dating!" you protest
"yeah?" he says, leaning back and stretching his arms out. "we don't need to."
"fuck's that supposed to mean?" you demand. you're washing your hands now, back turned to him. even though his steps were light, unheard over the sound of splashing water, you still noticed his shadow looming over you. you turn around, exasperated. "what?"
"just give it some thought," he says, and he sounds normal, but there's a weird tension in the air. you know he's aware of it, though, because he pushes his glasses up even though they don't need to be, and runs his hands through his hair, rolling his shoulders back.
it's half past one in the morning, and you stare blankly at the television, feet on kei's lap. he's on the other side of the couch, scrolling on his phone with one hand. the other hand rests on your ankle, thumb brushing the skin gently every now and then. the question hangs heavy in the air between the two of you, until—
"yes," you blurt.
"hmm?" he looks up, putting his phone down. "what was that?"
"yes, i'll marry you." it's stupid, you're stupid to be saying yes to something as life-changing as this, just because of a stupid years-long crush-infatuation thing that you've harboured for him until now.
he nods, businesslike, and you swear you can see the slightest trace of a smile on his lips. "okay."
"why, though?" you ask. "is it like a marriage of convenience? i mean, it's not like you're into me or anything, are you?"
he rips his eyes away from yours abruptly, looking away. but the blush that spreads across his face like wildfire gives you the answer you needed — although it's definitely not what you'd expected. and suddenly you realise that kei tsukishima doesn't remember his other friends' coffee orders or let them put their feet on his lap. he doesn't pin their contacts to the top of the list, doesn't carry them to bed, doesn't pack lunch for them like he does for you. he isn't the kind of guy to show physical affection to anyone — yet you still recall the gentle, loving brush of his knuckles against your cheekbone just a few nights ago, when he'd settled you into your bed. speaking of beds, he doesn't let his other friends sleep in his bed, and he definitely doesn't hold them either, the way he holds you. a small spark of hope rises within you; with it, the flame of attraction and want that you've religiously kept suppressed all these years comes back to life.
"wait, do you?" your voice is half-serious, half-teasing as you yank your legs away from his lap, getting up to advance upon him on your knees instead. except, just before you reach him, you stumble and fall.
kei catches you smoothly, transferring you onto his lap with an effortless grace that is befitting of a 6'5" middle blocker. meanwhile, your hands shoot out to clutch at his shoulders.
"careful," he murmurs, steadying you, hands on your hips. his face — as usual — betrays no emotion, but his leg bounces up and down anxiously beneath you, and his thumb works feverish circles into your hipbone. "you'll hurt yourself."
although grateful for his concern, you acknowledge it with barely a nod, focused on the question you'd asked before. "do you?"
his lips press into a thin line, brows furrowing ever so slightly. "and if i do? what then, will you hate me?"
you laugh, a sound filled with euphoria, joy. "of course not, silly!"
realisation dawns upon his face. "then do you...?"
you nod as he trails off. he doesn't have to finish what he's saying got you to understand; the two of you have always been good at this mutual-understanding-nonverbal-communication thing, after all. he readjusts you on his lap, and you daringly let your hands fall off his shoulders in favour of fisting the material of his shirt instead. "what do you propose we do?"
"i think i have an idea," he replies easily, cradling your face with one large hand. the tips of his fingers thread into your hair, and he angles your head upwards. you can see the lightest smattering of pink dusting his cheeks, and he swallows harshly as your eyes meet his. "that is, if you'll let me."
"yeah?" you ask.
"yeah," he replies hoarsely.
you're not sure who initiates, but a second later, you're kissing him fervently — you're kissing kei tsukishima, and he's reciprocating, too. you can smell the mint from the toothpaste he's used for about ten years now — it's oddly nostalgic compared to the unfamiliar territory you're currently treading with him. he lets you take the lead, leaning back lazily, and only pauses to push his fogged up glasses to his forehead. when you pull away, he's grinning down at you lazily.
"yeah," he repeats.
you swat at his chest, flushing, and he catches your wrists, pulling you in so you collapse into his arms, and holy fuck, the two of you fit together perfectly. "so is that a yes?"
"yeah—" you cut yourself off with a huge yawn, covering your mouth with the back of your hand. there's a different kind of affection in his eyes now as he takes in the vision of you melted into him, and he takes a moment to immortalise it in his brain. "sleepy?"
you nod, eyelids heavy, and he wraps his arms around you, pulling you closer. "thank you. go to sleep, i'll take you to bed."
"whose bed?" you snicker. "yours?"
it all backfires when you wake up much later than intended, kei still wrapped around you. all you'd wanted to do was make fun of him — but now he says he can't sleep without you ever again.
"let me go!"
"it's your fuckin' fault, go back to sleep."
BONUS BECAUSE ILYGS
"so what you mean to say is, you were secretly dating?" asks yamaguchi.
"no, the fuck?"
"but you were dating, right?"
"no, we weren't."
"how does that even work?"
"don't know, don't care. we're married and that's all that matters."
maybe he's hallucinating when he sees tsukishima on the phone, a huge, dopey smile on his face as he talks.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐏 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐎𝐖
🏐— tsukishima kei x f!reader
— synopsis: he hates your intelligence in classrooms and you hate his cunnigness at the court. both go at great lengths to defeat each other, but how is it that both of you were the only ones that can help each other be better?
— warnings: swearing, a bit suggestive, enemies to lovers (although kind of enemies)
You slam your paper on his desk.
Tsukishima barely flinches. He removes his headphones and hangs them on his neck, unbothered by your looming presence as he stares blankly at your paper. 96
The corners of his lips tug down, seemingly unimpressed. "Eh."
"Eh? Aw, is little Tsukishima disappointed at himself?"
He looks up at you, stares deeply into your eyes. And for a moment you'd think his domineering gaze would soften as he was overawed by you. But then he smiles, that annoying little shitty, narcissistic smile.
"Actually, not at all (l/n)," his smile is bright, almost genuine, but his sarcasm is radiating. "I got a 98. Not bad, though!"
You swear steam was coming off your body.
"96 at modern Japanese." He says. "Understandable."
"Understandable?!"
"Don't beat yourself up, (l/n). Not everyone's perfect," he leans back. "Not even me. I mean, I'm just being humble. But yeah, not everyone."
"I hate you," you take your paper off his desk.
"Flattered. Really, really flattered. Thank you for hating me, actually. I feel so honored to be hated." He puts his headphones back on and places his elbows on his desk, his chin resting on his joint fists. Tsukishima smiles at you again.
God, his smile is infuriating.
Tsukishima was someone you'd go to great lengths to defeat. He never bothered for your existence when first year began. He didn't even know your name; Didn't even look at your direction. He'd only known it a month later when you were paired to be partners and he decided to be such a condescending brat when he pointed out your handwriting.
At first you ignored it, took it by heart and started organizing your writings on your notes. Then he decided to put all his self-hatred on you and started to discreetly judge you.
Maybe he wasn't even judging you. Maybe he was just staring at your paper, scoffed to himself, shook his head and laughed because you got a better score than him and he was berating himself. But no, he laughed because he thought you were a tryhard and he was a prodigy.
Obviously none of those were confirmed. But he's a man and a man hates it when a woman's happy.
When he smirks you have the urge to rip his lips to pieces.
You walk away from him and sit on your desk, which was actually beside him.
His scent follows your flaring nostrils as you carefully shove your paper between the notebooks in your bag. Tsukishima looks out the window, hiding his smirk, his foot tapping lightly but never making sound. So you put your own headphones over your ears, in hopes to drown out his deafening aura.
🏐 —
"Shit!"
Tsukishima's knees bends the wrong way and almost falls onto his back as he lands on the ground. The ball echoes across the court as it ricochets off the floor. You laugh loudly, and everyone looks at you.
"You're too advanced for the block, idiot!" You say loudly. Yamaguchi giggles.
He rolls his eyes at you as he chases for the ball. Kageyama sits beside you.
"You know he plays horribly when you're here."
"Oh?" You raise a brow. "Is he not used to a girl looking at her?"
Kageyama scratches his nose. "Probably 'cause he hates you."
You laugh lightly. "Kinda nice that I'm here. I get to see him fuck up."
Kageyama snorts. "He feels pressured 'cuz you're here."
"Oh? He said that?"
"No. But I can hear him think."
You laugh and wipe your sweat off. "I'd play with you guys, but his remarks could piss me off and I might, uh, shove that ball up his ass."
When Kageyama laughs again, quite loudly, Tsukishima's head snaps at the bench where you're sitting. Heat rises to his head, his stance losing its usual strength, his arms weakening as he watches you—
Laughing, at some joke you said or Tobio said. Laughing heartily like someone just made the best joke in the world. The way your lips almost reach the wrinkles beneath your eyes. Oh, that's so funny Tobio. You're so funny you should quit volleyball and be a stand up comedian!
He knows you're talking shit about him, too. Idiot. Brat. Showoff.
He had the right to show off. He was better than you.
He was the better thinker; the better scorer.
Tsukishima is better than you.
I'm better than you—
The ball hits the side of his face, his glasses flailing to the side.
The first thing that reaches his ears—your sickening laugh. That monstrous, sadistic guffaw. Tanaka yells from the other side of the court and dives beneath the net to take a look at his face. Nishinoya hovers, hands on his knees, laughing.
"Pay attention, dumbass!" You cuff your hands over your mouth. "Stop daydreaming! It's embarrassing."
He bends to pick his glasses up. Alive, no cracks, frame not broken. He puts it on the bridge of his nose so that he could see your face clearly.
Hideously alluring.
"Do you think of scheming as daydreaming, (l/n)?" his voice, full of disdain, though hidden through feigned sweetness. "Like a child as always. Go back to middle school?"
"Do better at volleyball?"
"I ought to kick the both of you out this court," Daichi says loudly. "Oh wait I can't speak to (l/n) like that. S-sorry!"
Tsukishima sneers, his lips frowning. He approaches the rolling ball, watching as it hits the wall and propells back towards his awaiting feet. When he picks it up, he steals another glance at you talking to Kageyama.
The King and the Brat. The most annoying combination in the entirety of Karasuno campus.
Somehow, seeing you next to Kageyama and being given the nickname as if the two of you were a pair sends a tight rope around his chest that causes it to ache a little. Tsukishima huffs it out, an unsettling in his bones.
Please don't look at me.
The ball flies into the air, and his palm raises just in time to make contact with the ball.
He sees you watch from the corner of his eye, a blurried silhouette, but your figure was familiar enough for him to recognize you. His heart beats a little louder.
🏐 —
No.
Shit. Fuck. No
God damnit. 74.
Tsukishima stares at his paper in horror. In his entire life, he has always gotten two digits on his scores. However, they had always been ninety onwards. Never in the line of sevens. He doesn't know if his horror is displayed across his face. He prays it doesn't—he would die if you saw his expression.
He leans sideways to the right, his eye darting towards the side to peak at your paper.
98.
The english language was something that was easy to learn but never easy in exams. This—despite boasting that english was the easiest subject—was his weakness.
You're too preoccupied to notice his existence. Good.
He turns around to look at the green haired boy.
"Yamaguchi." He whisper-yelled. "Tadashi."
Yamaguchi looks up. "Yes?"
This was it. Years of built up pride, intelligence, boosted ego— down the drain. As soon as he'd ask him the question, it would forever alter the image of himself towards his friend. Tsukishima was no longer the brainy four-eyes of the Karasuno Volleyball Club.
He would now be Tsukishima, the idiot four-eyes.
Maybe I'm overreacting.
He stands up and sits beside the empty chair next to Yamaguchi.
"How- What's your score?"
Yamaguchi looks puzzled as he glances at his paper. "E-eighty eight."
God, this is depressing.
"Um," Tsukishima scratches the back of his neck. "Could you help me with English?"
There it is. His face says it all.
"Don't you even—"
"You, Tsukishima Kei, asking for my help?" He laughs incredulously. "Are you sure? What's your score?"
"Don't want to talk about it."
"Aw, c'mon Tsukki." He pouts playfully like comforting a weeping baby. "I'm sure it's not that bad."
Tsukishima tells him in a low voice. He never thought he could hate Yamaguchi's laugh. But he did, right after he laughed at his score. It wasn't even a failing grade.
"You know who should tutor you though?" He puts his paper in his bag. "(l/n). She's good, y'know. I heard her speak english once. I thought she was from, uh, some foreign country or something."
"She's not even that good." Tsukishima takes off his glasses and wipes it with the corner of his uniform. "She's good with memory but she forgets it right after the quiz like a ditz."
Yamaguchi snorts. "She's the one who got the best score out of all of us."
"Yeah, no thanks. I'd never let her teach me."
"I think you're forgetting I'm right here in front of you." You turn around, placing your elbow and forearm on the back of your chair and look at Tsukishima. "I can teach you."
Tsukishima scoffs. "No thanks. I'd rather repeat freshman year."
"Are you sure?" you pout, placing your chin on the back of your hand. "I can teach you, little Tsukishima."
"I'm not little."
"Yeah but your brain is."
"Yamaguchi, help me out here."
He can't ask for your help. Never ever. Never will he ever ask for your help. Tsukishima can study this himself. He's always studied by himself. He's never needed anyone, and certainly not you. He was independent, cunning as everyone says. Tsukishima does not need tutors.
Up until now.
"Please help Tsukishima study," Yamaguchi looks at you. "He's too prideful to ask but he really needs your help."
Tsukishima stammers. "T-that's not what I meant!"
"Aw, is this true?" You're taunting him. He feels like a child.
"I can study by myself. Fuck off."
You smile at him. In a way that he can't read. It was soft, almost kind, like you wanted to help him wholeheartedly and wanted his english to improve. Then he looked into your eyes and all the kindness in your smile had been washed away by this pity in your eyes that you enjoyed. Tsukishima huffs.
"No need to be shy about asking for help, little Tsukki," you coo. "We'll study in the locker room while everyone else plays. You're skipping practice today."
Tsukishima zips his bag and stands up. He towers over you, covering the sun that blinds you through the glass window. He looks down at your eyes—teasing, condescending eyes. His lips are turned to a frown, which makes you smile even more.
"I'm not skipping practice."
"Too bad. You are. You know, if you let me help you, you'd stop having that distraught face everytime you get your english paper." You take a step closer, neck bent backwards to look up at him. "Yeah, I saw your face."
Yamaguchi nudges his arm. "C'mon, Kei. Ask for her help. You know you need it. Don't be so prideful."
Tsukishima growls. He doesn't say anything yet, all the confidence in him washed away by a score that wasn't even a failing grade. His palm rubs the space between his eyebrows and mumbles:
"Help me."
You lean in, ear towards him. "Couldn't hear that. Sorry?"
"Help me study."
"Are you commanding me or asking?"
"Please help me study."
"Don't mumble, Tsukishima."
"Damn it!" He groans. "Please help me, dearest (l/n)." His voice drips in sarcasm, peering at you through his scratched lenses. "Help me get a better grade at english. Help me stop myself from strangling you! Idiot!"
You lean back, the bottom of your spine resting on your table as your left hand props you up. Tsukishima is almost seething, his eyes widened a little as his anger seethes through his nostrils. You hum, pretend to think, then slap his right cheek twice lightly.
"How kind of you to ask, little Tsukki." You wrinkle your nose at him, slinging your bag over your shoulder. "See you at the locker room."
When you leave, his head turns to Yamaguchi who smiles innocently. Tsukishima almost strangles him instead.
🏐—
The boys are thirty minutes late to practice. Including Daichi.
"It's the sequence of the words, Tsukishima," you point your pen at his test paper. "The spelling's no problem. You're good at it. It's just with how you've formed them together."
They all sit behind the two of you, watching silently. Tsukishima is red from embarrassment as he ignores them.
"What's so wrong about this sequence? It sounds correct."
"Just because it sounds correct doesn't mean that it is correct."
Hinata snorts. Tsukishima's head snaps at it. "Don't snort, dumbass. Last time I checked you got a twenty at your exam."
"You hit a nerve there, Shoyo," Kageyama giggles.
You sigh and slap your hands at your thighs. "Sawamura-san, why are you guys even here?"
He stammers, his back straightening as he fixes his bag on his left shoulder. "Jus–Just wanted to make sure you two will be fine. Let's go guys."
When they leave, Tsukishima relaxes in relief. He stares intensely at his notebook, figuring out the correct answer. You try not to laugh at him, but the sight was entertaining; seeing him suffer brought your heart at ease.
"Figured it out, moron?" You bring your own notebook out, flipping it to the last page you'd written on. "It's really not that hard."
"Shut up, (l/n.)" he says. You make a small sound, similar to "okay!" As you begin to write down on a blank page.
And you're like that for a few hours.
Tsukishima answers the questions you've written for him, and when he asks you for help, you cordially help him without telling him the answers. Then you both go back to formidable silence, doing your own perspective works.
He almost enjoys this newfound environment created with you. Somehow, his body is more tranquil, but at the same time his mind is racing, because you're here. Tutoring him. Tsukishima has always believed that he was one step ahead of you, making sure you were unable to catch up with him. But now he's slipped from that step and you've caught up and you're deriding him.
Nonetheless, you're his only hope right now.
He looks at you.
Your hair is tucked behind your ears and your teeth are currently creating dents at the eraser of your pencil. You're concentrating, seeming like you've forgotten that he's sitting in front of you. And Tsukishima's eyes are extremely blurred, but when he looks at you through the gap between his glasses and forehead, your face was somehow clearer.
"Are you a dog?" he raises a brow. "Don't chew on your pencil."
You huff like you're being scold and place your pencil down. But the chewing didn't last a second as your bottom lip is now tucked between your teeth. Tsukishima rolls his eyes.
"Here," he flips his paper and shows it to you. "Did I do it correctly?"
You take the paper from him and read it. He hopes you're at least slightly impressed, that you're not arbitrating his answers nor think they're half-assed. When your red pen moves into a slant, the corner of his lip twitches upwards. But when you circle the number, he has this urge to shove that pen into your eye.
"Hm, not bad. But not enough." you flip the paper.
70.
Four points less.
"Damn it." You can tell he's disappointed at himself. "You suck at teaching."
"Excuse me?!" Your eyebrows furrow. "Hey, I've spent the past four hours teaching you here, stickhead. The sun's almost down!"
"Do you have to go home already?" He asks. You shrug. "Then we can stay here until they're done with practice."
"Tsukishima, I have freshly cooked doburi waiting for me at home. Do you know what donburi is? Do you know what it tastes like while it's still hot? Fucking donburi, Tsukishima." You whine. "Would you like to study at my place instead?"
You seem to not have processed what you've offered, but Tsukishima has. He's surprised at your comment, watching you look so desperate to get home and eat that "fucking donburi." He waits for a moment until you realize and you do, but it seemed like you didn't care when you lean back and raise a brow.
"Well?"
"Sure."
His quick, almost unhesitant compliance surprises you. Tsukishima adjusts his glasses and brings his headphones out as you both head out the door. You lock it behind you, with Tsukishima already walking ahead.
You pass by the gym. "Sawamura, everyone, we're heading out!"
Tsukishima appears beside you. "We're going."
"To where?" Yamaguchi approaches you both. "Are you going to eat out? Ooh, can you bring food back here?"
"We're going to her place to study." He answers. "We can't come back."
The others seem to hear what he said, because Hinata yells: "What kind of studying are you going to do, Stingyshima?"
"Something that your tiny shit-for-brains can't comprehend." He retorts. "Focus on your receives, squirt!"
You wave to everyone and catch a glimpse of Yamaguchi's smile. You roll your eyes at him and poke your tongue out.
🏐 —
The way home was quieter than you expected.
Mainly because Tsukishima had his headphones on and all you hear was your un synchronous footsteps on the stoned sidewalk. You take small looks at your peripherals to see what he's doing. And, well, he's walking... like every other normal person.
But you're walking side by side and there's this space between you that's so close but also so far away. You feel his heat touching the fabric of your shirt, his hand twitching and just barely grazing yours. Then he speaks:
"You walk like a penguin," he says. "Why are you like that?"
"Why are you so annoying?" you roll your eyes. "I don't point out how you walk."
"That's because there's nothing wrong with my walk," he puts his headphones down, hangs them around his neck. "What? Got a stick up your ass or something?"
"I'll stab you with that stick."
"Gross."
You turn a corner and he follows suit like it was normal for him to follow you around. When you stop in front of your gate and unlock it, he bore no unhestiance as he removed his shoes and entered your home.
There was no one else around. And as soon as Tsukishima entered, you disappeared in his vision. Although, he hears you yell from afar: "Set your bag wherever. Stay in the living room though!"
He assumes you're either changing your clothes, getting a bowl of donburi, or both. He obeys, sets his bag on the floor and sits cross legged on the carpet of your living room, taking his notes out. He sees the sun inching away behind the roofs of the houses near by, waiting for you patiently.
And then his eyes roam to picture frames.
Never would he think that a picture of you smiling would be so endearing. That smile of yours, painting you an angelic aura, like people would never expect that you'd be the devil's descendant. Nonetheless, you were still beautiful.
The picture was you in a ponytail, face doused in sweat; the background, although blurry and dark, looked familiar. But Tsukishima was more focused on your gleaming smile, the way your eyes are almost closed and your lips were pale and your teeth were shiny.
"Hey, douchebag," you sit beside him despite the free space on the opposite of the coffee table, setting down two bowls of donburi. And yes, you had changed your clothes into something comfier. "Let's eat and study."
He never expected that you'd get him a bowl, thought that he'd have to ask or drop hints of him wanting donburi. He takes it though, and it is freshly cooked. He now understood your eagerness to go home.
An hour passes by.
The bowls are empty and set aside. Tsukishima's notes are scattered, hair disheveled from him constantly running his fingers through them. That string of hatred between you has been put aside as you both seem to tolerate one another through this session.
"Tsukishima," you say, almost sternly, placing two cartons of strawberry milk on the table. "It's easy to determine an adverb in Japanese. It's no different in identifying it in English."
"I know that, dumbass. What are you, a consciousness?" He takes his box, taking the plastic off the straw and shoving it on the circular foil. "Gimme yours."
He takes your carton and shakes it before doing the same and handing it to you. You blush vehemently, murmuring your gratitude and wrapping your lips around the paper straw.
Tsukishima's eyes wander out of boredom, tracing every corner and every ridge of your home. Until his eyes land on the sliding door to your backyard and catch a glimpse of that familiar blue and yellow ball.
"You play volleyball?" he queries, both his eyebrows raising.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Back in middle school."
"Bet you were shit at it."
"I was a middle blocker."
Tsukishima's back straightens, staring at you in hidden surprise. "At that height?"
"I'm not that short! Asshole," you throw your pen at him. He catches it with ease, setting it beside his notebook.
"Why aren't you in the women's volleyball club, then?" his brow raises. "Too short? They didn't take you? Failed the tryouts?"
You look down at your fingers, covered in peeled up skin and charred fingernails. You feel embarrassed, avoiding his eager stare. You sense his want to know your reason, radiating off his eyes.
"Not saying," you push yourself up, now standing in front of him. Tsukishima's eyes follow you, trailing uo from your thighs up to your neck, his irises darkening until he meets your gaze. "Get up. Time to go home."
"Let's play."
You stammer. "W-what? It's late."
"And I want to see you play." Tsukishima stands, hovering over you. "It's only nine in the evening."
You purse your lips, arms going limp on either side of your tired body. Though despite being worn out, you walk towards the door and slide it open, being greeted by Miyagi's brumal air that raises the hairs on your body. Tsukishima tugs on the sleeves of his sweater, covering half of his fingers, before following you out.
Barefoot in the evening, with the moon casting a pearlescent glow on your enervated bodies, the thump of the leather ball is in sync with your beating heart; and at each thump, it seems to wake Tsukishima up more.
"Tell me why you're not in the women's volleyball club," he sets it towards your direction.
"No." Your wrists join, your right fingers placing themselves on top of your left fingers, both thumbs settled side by side as your wrist ricochet the ball towards him. "It's none of your business."
Tsukishima catches it with ease. "You're lame."
You scoff, returning the ball. "I am not."
The blue and yellow ball floats into the evening air, the bright colors darkened by the stygian sky, only luminated by the moon and the lights outside your backyard. Tsukishima sets it to you again. "Listen, I don't really care about whatever your reason is. I just want to know."
You huff. There's no harm in telling your enemy a secret of yours, right? It's not like he was popular enough to go on and tell people. And like he said, he didn't care.
The ball comes in contact with your wrists. "I got injured. Well, not seriously injured. I can still play but I'm not as good as I used to be." Tsukishima catches the ball and rests it on his hip, listening to you explain. "I actually got a surgery at my calf."
You lift your pajamas just below your knee, showing the healed scar at the back of your calf. "The bone got dislocated 'cause one of my teammates smashed onto my leg when she was trying to save the ball. She got injured too, actually."
"Obviously," he retorts, now staring at your calf. Something about Tsukishima staring at your scar seemed too intimate as it should be, staring at your bare skin. His blonde hair drapes over his forehead, glasses glinting in the moonlight. "So where do you struggle?"
"Blocking. I can't jump properly." You scratch the back of your neck. "I can set though. Just, it's not in my heart."
"It's just a club," he says. "Play whatever position you want." Tsukishima sets the ball to you again.
"Just a club, huh?" You smirk. "Why'd you fail your test?"
"Because I was thinking too much of what I was gonna do when I'm at court again."
"And it's just a club."
"What's it to you?" He snaps. "At least I'm in the Volleyball club. Have I taken your dream?"
"You're a child."
"Yeah yeah. Join the club or whatever. Don't care if you don't or you want to."
You set it back to him again. "I want to."
Tsukishima senses your melancholy longing for the sport, sees your disheartened look as you think about all the chances you've lost. His heart twinges just the slightest, holding the ball between his slender hands. He almost pities you.
"Tell you what," he sets it to you. "If I pass the retest tomorrow, I'll help you with your blocking. If not," he shrugs, catching your return, "good luck with your life."
"You sound like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity." You roll your eyes.
Tsukishima hopes he passes the retest tomorrow.
Mainly because it was import to him to ace it. Partly because he wanted to see you on court.
🏐 —
100.
You read Tsukishima's answers. In the fluorescent lights, his neat handwriting presents to you all the knowledge he's obtained from your chaotic teachings. He scoffs proudly, resting his lower back on the edge of his table.
"Not bad, nerd." You hand his paper to him. "And you beat me by two points."
"That's because you're an idiot," he sits down on his chair, though still facing you. "See you at the gym later."
Your brows furrow. "The gym's closed. Coach Ukai said today's rest day."
"But I'm not Coach Ukai," he fixes his glasses on the bridge of his nose. "It's just for today. And only today."
"Fine," you agree. You act like you're forced to say yes, but deep inside the vessels of your heart and every part of your brain, they throb with excitement.
So you meet Tsukishima outside the gym after class in a white shirt and gym shorts. He meets you there, clad in the same outfit, heat radiating off his body that warms your always cold flesh. For a moment he admires observes you, your attire unfamiliar but nevertheless appealing hideous.
When you enter, the court seemed bigger without the boys rousing around the court. It was quieter, no shoes squeaking, no balls slammed, no eager yelling. You set your bag down on the floor and see your untied shoe laces.
"Fuck," you mutter.
But before you could bend down, Tsukishima has already knelt in front of you.
His knee rests on the tip of your shoe, fingers ribboning the laces of your rubber shoes. Your eyes widen, body stiffening, and it felt like forever as he tied it (it was actually only 10 seconds).
"You're a dumbass for leaving your shoelaces untied." He makes no comment as to why he's decided to tie your laces, but you swear you see his ears turn a twinge of pink.
Tsukishima takes a ball and goes to the other side of the court. When you stand opposite from him, he rolls the ball to your direction.
"How long has it been since you've played?" he asks, loudly, voice echoing across the empty gymnasium.
"Uh, a year and a half." The ball bounces between your palm and the squeaky floor. "I'm a little rusty."
"You are rusty. Your receives were shit last night."
You growl at his tease.
"We're not gonna start with the blockings. We have to start from the beginning." Tsukishima positions himself, knees bent and apart, his hands on his knees. "Serve it."
So you do. You toss the ball into the air, your hand striking as it meets the ball, and it flies across the net. It goes outside.
"Idiot." Tsukishima laughs. "First, don't try to aim it to me. You don't want your opponents to save it. You have to aim it at an open spot inside the line. Second, don't serve too hard it goes outside."
"Okay!" You yell. And you serve again.
The ball grazes the net, but the momentum deems the ball to be inside the line. Tsukishima catches it and receives it back to your side.
Shit.
You race after the ball, joined wrists hitting it back to him. He dives, the back of his hand coming contact with the ball and it goes back to your court.
And it's high in the air, so you take the chance to bend your knees and jump, spiking it to his court.
Tsukishima blocks it.
He laughs. "You're horrible at this."
"I don't exactly have a libero to save it, don't I?" You retort.
Tsukishima smiles a little, laughing at your loss point. "Give me the ball." You roll it to his side. "I want you to try and block me."
"The net is higher than it is for girls, you know." You approach the net. "I'll have a hard time."
"The higher you jump, the better you can block the ball. And you'll even have an advantage against your enemies since you're practicing with a higher net, (y/n)." He dribbles the ball.
Tsukishima called you by your first name.
Not your surname, not some insulting nickname. Your first name.
Your knees weaken at the sound of his voice dropping the phonemes of your name.
But when he flings the ball upwards, you feel your body go rigid. And just before his incoming ball passes through the net, you jump, fingers stopping the ball.
But the ball doesn't go to his side, instead it falls down below the net, at your side. You land clumsily on your feet, ankle bending but not painfully.
"See, you got it. You just have to jump higher."
"Shut up, you stilt walking clown." Your leg throbs, shaking. "Hit it again."
"See this?" Tsukishima brings his hands in the air, his arms and hands bent inward. "You block like this. Don't straighten your arms. It sets the ball upwards and they get the point since you're last touch. Block me again."
You kick the ball to his direction. Tsukishima springs the ball into the air once more, his arm flinging back when he jumps and strikes the ball towards you.
Filled with adrenaline, you jump as high as you could, your chest as high as the edge of the net, arms and hands bent inward as you block the ball and ricochet it towards him.
He doesn't do anything and watches the ball roll outside the court. Tsukishima's eyes shoot up and look at you, the corner of his lips bent downwards in amusement.
"Not bad. Try harder though."
You snarl at him.
Hours pass and you're both drenched in sweat. His shirt sticks to his chest, his hair damp across his forehead. He's wiping his face with a towel and his glasses rest on top of his hair. You drink from your water bottle.
The sweat drips down the tip of his nose, golden eyes drowsy yet vigorous with adrenaline. His lips are parted to pant out tired breaths, his adam's apple bobbing, the veins of his arms protruding. And he's sitting at the same bench as yours.
You swallow the liquid in your mouth.
"One day of practice isn't enough to get me into the club, Tsukishima." you say, wiping your mouth. "Thanks for teaching me though."
Tsukishima sets his towel down. "It's whatever. Your receives are go-fine, anyway. And you're really not that tall enough to block. You're hopeless."
"I wish Hinata was here to say that so he could yell at you."
Hinata. Tsukishima feels something uncomfortable rise to his chest when you mention his name.
And it seems as though you have summoned that tiny tangerine devil.
"Oh, Kageyama! The lights are open, someone must be here," your head turns and see that Hinata's hair pokes out the door before his head fully goes in. His eyes roam around until they find you. "Oh! (y/l/n)-san!"
"Hinata," you smile kindly. "Why are you guys still here? There's no training today."
"Tanaka-san said we can train for as much as we want as long as we don't tell Sawamura." he hops inside, Kageyama following suit behind him, unzipping his jacket. "What are you doing here, Stingyshima?"
"None of your business." He replies, irritation dripping off his sharp tongue from the nickname. "What do you think we were doing? Playing kendama?"
"I wouldn't mind playing kendama," Hinata looks at Kageyama, who shrugs. "Can we join?"
"Hopeless child," Tsukishima rubs his face with his towel again. "It's getting late. We should go home."
His usage of plural rather than sigular denotes that his usual selfishness has been decreased due to your unwavering presence, having been spent multiple hours with you for the past two days than usual. Tsukishima has easily adapted to include you in whatever he was going to do next.
We should go home.
"Aw, well, can you leave us the keys?" Hinata asks you. Tsukishima shoves the keys in the small boy's hand. "Thank you, Stingyshima!"
Tsukishima slings his bag over his shoulder, approaching the exit. He looks at Kageyama. "Fix your sets, your Majesty. You wouldn't want to clip the wings of Karasuno now, would you?"
You can see the smirk formed in his face. Kageyama is fuming, his fists clenching. "You– I...– You piece of shi– Hnmgh– You dumbass! Hinata!"
"Why me?!"
Tsukishima walks away without waiting for you, although you follow suit behind him. And when you reach the school gates, he turns right rather than left—and his way home begins with him turning left.
Yours was to the right.
"You gonna walk me home?" You joke, finally catching up behind him. Your weary legs has made you walk slower, though enough to now keep up with Tsukishima's tired pace.
"Yes."
Tsukishima doesn't spare a glance at you. But you look at him in shock. Then you shoot him an upsidedown smile, humming.
"No longer Stingyshima, I see."
"I ought to leave you here and get kidnapped." He states bluntly, finally looking down at you through his peripherals.
"Why are you walking me home then?"
"Because I want to take a long walk."
"Yeah sure, whatever." Your hands meet behind you, hitting the top of your bottom at every step you take. "You wanted to take a long walk. Could've gone to the park, could've roamed around your street. But yeah, you're walking me home so you could have a long walk back to your home."
Tsukishima tuts, his arms crossing. "Are you implying something, (y/n)?"
Your first name. Again.
"Oh, I'm not implying anything!" Your eyebrows raise, looking fully at him. And Tsukishima turns his head and looks at you as he walks. "I'm just stating what I've observed, Tsukki."
"Don't call me that."
"Okay!" You turn to your gate. When you reach inside the small box and pull on the lever of your door, you sense that Tsukishima is still standing behind you wth his hands in his pockets, watching you intently. So you turn around when the gate unlocks. "Yes? Do you need to use my bathroom first? Want a carton of milk or something?"
"No." He says. "Get in already."
You rest your back at your gate. "Tell me the real reason why you walked me home."
"No."
"So you lied to me earlier?"
"N-no."
"So what is it?"
Tsukishima sighs. Then he takes a few steps, approaching you and bends down so that his face would be equal to yours.
His scent is sweet, like freshly picked strawberries. And his lips, though thin, was soft and pink. And the tip of his nose grazes just above yours. And his golden eyes narrow to gaze at every speck of your irises. The corner of his lip turns upwards.
"That shut you up." He says. You blush, and he seems to taunt you. "Still want to play volleyball?"
His breath is hot fanning over your cold face. You can't help but nod. You swallow thickly from the close proximity that Tsukishima has created.
"Okay. Well, I still need help with english. And you obviously still need help with volleyball. So you reap what you sow. We'll help each other."
Tsukishima says those words like they're a command. Like they're being read from sacred scriptures. An event waiting to be happened for a prophecy to be fulfilled. Tsukishima's tone was flat but his voice deemed importance.
"Okay," was all you managed to let out through a breath. "See you tomorrow?"
Tsukishima stands up, eyes you up and down. Then looks into your eyes again and you swear that his gaze softens.
"See you tomorrow."
🏐—
A few weeks pass by.
At mornings, Tsukishima has come to pick you up and you studied on the way to Karasuno. You spend your lunches together, along with Yamaguchi, as well as Hinata and Kageyama who—while also bickering like children—listen to whatever you teach Tsukishima.
After classes, you find yourself joining the boys at the volleyball club, with Tsukishima helping you practice your blocks and receives. Though you notice that the boys take their strengths down a notch, which you are somewhat grateful for — because they truly are strong, and you're not ready to catch up to their level yet.
And at nights, Tsukishima walks you home with a milk carton in hand and sharp remarks in his mouth.
There's still a thick smoke of hatred that covers the both of you, that string of annoyance wrapped around your fingers. Yet as days pass by, that smoke has been thinning at every civil interaction. Albeit that annoyance still lingered.
And until today, that smoke has turned into this very light fog, until you begin to question why you hated Tsukishima in the first place.
Your phone vibrates.
tsukishima. Where are you? 8:32am
you. almost there. forgot my bag at home. 8:33am
tsukishima. Hurry up. It's cold outside. 8:33am
you. will do. sorry :| Read at 8:34am
Tsukishima is standing outside the gates of Karasuno, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed as you quickened the pace of your walk.
"You're so slow it's annoying," his eyebrows furrow. "Why'd you forget your bag? Idiot."
"You pressure me, douchebag." You flick the bridge of his glasses. He yelps. "Hurry. I want to study already. We have a quiz at 9."
When you and Tsukishima sit on your respective seats, you quiz each other with lazily scribbled flash cards. He seems to have absorbed the passed on knowledge and had answered the questions with ease.
So after the quiz, he seemed content; confident.
"How well did you think you did, beanpole?" You zip your bag.
"Well enough to beat your ass," he replies. Then, he does something new.
He smiles at you.
It wasn't a bright smile. Not energetic, but radiates some kind of light happiness. Seemed like a smile of gratitude.
You feel your cheeks flare.
After classes, you meet outside the gym as always, both of you changed into training clothes. Then you spend hours and hours jumping and tiring your wrists out, squeaking your shoes off the floor.
By the time the sun has set, Tsukishima was waiting for you again.
"Let's study."
Your eyes widen and you look startled. Tsukishima looks bored. "I'm pretty sure you got yourself covered for the rest of the year, Tsukishima."
"And I don't think you can train by yourself in volleyball," he adjusts his bag. "Let's just study. Reap what you sow."
"You keep saying that."
He ignores you. "Let's study at my place."
"E-excuse me?"
Tsukishima begins to walk to his direction. And despite your reaction, you follow him either way. "Let's study at my place for a change. I'm sick of your living room."
He says it like he's spent years hanging out in your living room. Your feet runs on the cobblestone to catch up with him. "But- What else are we gonna study?"
"Whatever I want."
His house wasn't actually that far from the campus. When you've turned a corner, he opens the gate and lets you in. When you enter his home, it's warm and clean, so you set your shoes aside and walk in your socks.
No one's home.
Tsukishima could've led you to their living room. Instead, he goes directly to his bedroom. And when you don't move, he looks at you through the door with a raised brow, as if to say "well? why aren't you getting in?"
So you do.
You sit on the edge of his bed, watching him unzip his jacket and set it aside. You decide to stop acting so wary and let you back fall to his bed, taking your phone out.
"So when are your tryouts?"
You look at him, placing your phone on your chest. "Next week. Michimiya was nice enough to let me try this late into the school year."
"I'll be there." He sits down on the other side of his bed.
"Oh," you're stunned. "Okay. Um, what do you want to study?"
You pull yourself up until your whole body is on his bed, sitting up and resting your back at his headboard. Tsukishima brings his legs to the bed, resting them beside your socked feet.
"Chemistry." This is new. "Can you run me through it?"
And you do. You take your notebook our and run him by all the lessons discussed for the past week. Tsukishima's pretends to listen but he actually doesn't.
Instead he's staring at your scar at your leg, up and down your very exposed thigh, but mostly at your scar.
You notice this immediately. "Tsukishima, why are you staring at my scar?"
"It's Kei," he looks at you, his hand resting just beside your calf, index finger twitching to trace the ridges of your scar. "Call me Kei."
Kei.
"Okay, Kei."
Your voice, filled with dulcets, his name sounding mellifluous as it rolls of your tongue. Tsukishima's heart beats wildly, and has decided to come with the terms that he hates you— because he likes you.
"Your scar looks... cool..." his index finger finally sets on the soft skin of your healed wound. You shiver at his featherlight touch.
And he's so near you now. As near as that time he walked you home and bent down to your height. And gods, he was so handsome. Even with his scratched glasses. Your mouth gapes the slightest, shaking hands reaching to remove the spectacles off his nose.
Tsukishima lets you. You see sweetness of his stare, all that hatred you used to see seemed to have melted and dripped from his sweat. This kind of Tsukishima is new– foreign, yet seemed right. Seemed destined to happen.
"Kei," you murmur. "What are you doing?"
"Is your skull too thick to process your environment?" his laugh leaves him in a huff, smirking.
"You're so eager for me to teach you something you're already good at so you could keep training me," your brows meet in the middle the slightest, a crease on your forehead that Tsukishima wants to wipe away. "Why?"
"Because you're good, (y/n)." He declares. "Your injury isn't stopping you to perform your best. You're just scared."
"Then why not just train me without me having to tutor you?"
"Because I don't want to lose these kind of moments." he whispers. "Jesus, (y/n), I like you. It's why I brought you here, for fuck's sake."
His lips are warm compared to his cold hands.
You gasp, though eyes fluttering shut, and your eyelashes tickle his soft cheeks. Your fingers wrap around his wrist as he holds your delicate face in the palm of his hands, careful not to hurt you as his lips remain planted on yours.
When Tsukishima pulls away, he's not far from you. His lips hover over yours, breathing your air, his forehead resting just slightly on yours. Your fingers come up to tangle themselves on his silky hair.
"Lose moments like what, make out with me?" you giggle. "If you wanted to make out, Kei, just tell me."
"You never shut up, do you?"
His lips meet yours again in an open mouthed kiss, his tongue unabashed to graze your shy muscle. You hum in surprise, feeling yourself fall backwards when he gently cradles your head to rest on his sweet-scented pillow.
Somehow, you did meet up with your end of the bargain, only with something better.
Something better– like his hips slanted against yours as his mouth spreads shameless ardor across your body.
Something better– like how he whispers your name against your lips like a sacred prayer before he kisses you again carefully.
Something better– like a newfound relationship with Tsukishima Kei, someone you swore was your enemy, but now was someone you could spend your days with in his bed getting warm in ways fire couldn't.
Tsukishima looks into your eyes, tells you his secrets through his dilating pupils. His calloused fingers push your hair behind your ears, and then he kisses your forehead, followed by silk petal kisses on the plump of your cheeks, the tip of your nose, and then your lips.
His hands wander beneath your shirt, palms no longer cold as they're heated by the fervor of your body.
"You're so pretty."
"What a sap." you tease. "You're in love with me."
"I am." His nose rubs against yours lightly. "I so am. I'm in love with a dumbass. My ego has exploded."
You hit his face with a pillow.

tonkatsu and cabbages
featuring: tsukishima kei from haikyuu!!
cw: female!reader, housemates, college au, slow burn
wc: 1.2k
–
oh, right. he's on a full schedule today.
the realization just dawned upon you as soon as you opened the apartment door, only to be greeted by darkness.
it was evening already, after all.
you made your way inside, leaving your leather shoes on the rack by the entrance. walking directly to your room, you placed your bag on the table before plopping your body on the bed.
the thought of sleeping crossed your mind after a quite exhausting day at the university. but then, you remember you'll be the one to cook dinner tonight because it's your turn to do so—and not for the reason that he's not home yet.
who's he? your housemate, who goes by the name tsukishima kei, is whom you have been living with for a few months now.
and so far being under the same roof as him, you have not encountered a single worry or problem. may it be about taking turns in household chores and such, as well as boundaries on matters.
“maybe i'd just cook tonkatsu…” you've decided and pulled yourself out of the comfort of the bed.
clipping your hair in a messy bun after changing your clothes, you made your way out of your room and proceeded to the kitchen.
you wore your beige apron and prepared the ingredients on the counter, thankful that there's fresh pork loin stored in the fridge—brought home by your housemate just the other day. condiments were complete as always so there wasn't really a problem about them.
with everything settled, you start to slit the rim sides of the pork, and then pound them to flatten. and after seasoning the pork with salt and ground pepper, you let it sit for about thirty minutes to absorb the flavor.
there wasn't any leftover rice from last night because your housemate already made them into yakimeshi (pan-fried rice) this morning for both of your breakfast. so you also needed to cook steamed rice for dinner.
afterwards, you washed your hands and thought of playing some music in the living room—where the television is located. some browsing was made before you finally picked to play an album of one of your favorite bands.
‘the black parade’ by my chemical romance.
knowing that the soundtracks would be quite loud as usual, you set the volume a bit low, enough for you to hear from the kitchen.
while waiting for the pork, you already prepared flour, panko bread crumbs, and beaten eggs in separate containers. other needed ingredients were also separated in pinch bowls.
but then you also realized there was something missing after noticing there indeed weren't any cabbages to be shredded. you could run to a 24/7 grocery store downtown, yes. if only your legs weren't just worn out today, but they quite are.
and as for messaging your housemate…
tsukishima kei is also a college student like you, the same university even. however, you don't really bump into each other on campus grounds because your buildings are quite far from one another. he's taking biology while you major in journalism. so that makes sense.
and another fact is that… you don't really have his number… or even know his socials so…
yeah, and you've been housemates for months. now isn't that interesting? kidding aside, it's not really a concern for you. but thinking about it, maybe it could be of use in times like this.
but then, if you happen to have his contact, how would you even construct a message? it's silly because you two don't even talk to each other that much. nonetheless if it's about rent, groceries, or anything related to the both of you living together.
you purse your lips and heave a sigh, picking up a broom to sweep from your room, to the kitchen, the living room until by the entryway to kill time.
‘cancer' started playing by the time you finished sweeping and it's the eighth song from the album, so you figured almost thirty minutes had passed already—a perfect time to coat the seasoned pork in flour, beaten eggs, and panko bread crumbs.
but before that, you first prepare a deep fry pan, pour in enough cooking oil, and turn on the induction. you started frying the pork when the heat was all ready for deep frying.
you were already making sauce for the tonkatsu as you hear a beep and a faint voice from the entrance of the apartment. “i'm home…"
the last soundtrack from the album just faded to end, that's why you were able to hear those small sounds from a distance.
“welcome home…” you casually replied, like you always do, accompanied by a slight bow.
you turned your body to the direction where you see the tall guy walking towards the kitchen in his plain white shirt and black trousers. he's wearing glasses, usual headphones around his neck, and his beige bag hanging on his shoulder.
seeing a sports tote's on his hand, you assumed he had volleyball practice since you're aware that he's already part of a professional volleyball team.
he entered the kitchen, walking past you to reach for a glass of water—your sense of smell catching his manly scent. you turned off the induction and cleared your throat before speaking again.
“i fried tonkatsu for dinner tonight using the pork loin you brought last time, but i didn't know we don't have cabbages stored anymore and i wasn't able to buy some…”
in the first place, both of you agreed how it was perfectly fine to use each other's ingredients, as long as it was stated to be alright doing so, ahead of time. so you had no worries in terms of cooking even without asking for another permission beforehand.
and it was the same for him.
“that's alright,” he responded after drinking, voice was the usual low and calm. you watch him place the glass on the sink and how he unzipped the bag on his shoulder after.
“but it's surprising how i thought of buying shredded cabbage just right down the street on the way home today.” a sealed rectangular plastic food container was taken out of his bag.
his arm slowly moved towards your direction, handing you the container filled with shredded cabbage mixed with some bean sprouts.
panic couldn't be helped when your eyes suddenly met his. you carefully reached out for it using both of your palms.
“thank you… tsukishima," you muttered and decided to give him a small but sincere smile. “you can continue with your routine, and i'll call you once everything's ready."
you saw how his adam's apple moved as he swallowed before turning his gaze to the side. “i'll help set up the table."
you couldn't help but chuckle lightly, noticing something different but you didn't dare pointing it out. “it's fine, i got this. you can rest for a bit."
“i'll just take a quick shower,” he mumbled that you almost didn't get his words, quickly turning his back on you afterwards.
you bit your lower lip to prevent yourself from smiling as you saw his ears reddening more.

I’m Scared Without You
It was already past midnight. You were alone at home. Tsuki had a full-time job at the gas station and was on the night shift.
You hardly see your boyfriend except on weekends. Even if he did, he would come home tired and the most he could do with you was to eat. Then she would take a shower and go to bed. But you could meet in bed. Then Tsuki wouldn't be conscious either. You would watch him for hours while he was sleeping and when you were sleepy you would put your head on his chest and sleep.
And when you wake up in the morning, you'd wake up to an empty bed without it. You usually spent the day sleeping. Being alone at home for a long time made you depressed. You had a hard time even getting out of bed. You didn't even know what you ate or drank. You lost your appetite
Worse still, your paranoia had set in. You were starting to fear something for no reason. Especially when your boyfriend is on the night shift and spending time alone at home.
Your heart was in your mouth if the phone or doorbell rang. You would never open the door to strangers who entered your apartment and rang your bell. The many possibilities that could happen to you if you were hungry ran through your mind and even just imagining it gave you goosebumps.
Tonight was one of the nights when his fears started again. You went to bed and tried to sleep. There was a terrible storm outside. Lightning flashed as if the sky was splitting, and it was pouring rain. After a while, the electricity went out. You were about to lose your mind. You were trembling under the covers.
You reached for your phone on the empty side of your double bed. Even as you searched for Tsuki from the directory, your hands were shaking badly.
The phone rang for a while
“Come on Tsuki! Respond the my call now!” you're getting impatient
The answer you've been waiting for has finally arrived. You were a little relieved when you heard Tsuki's voice on the other line.
“Oh Tsuki! Finally!"
“What happened y/n? I am currently working”
"I know. I just…"
"Say what you have to say quickly, I have to get back to work"
“Tsuki…I am so scared at home alone. When you will come?"
“Offf y/n. Are you a child? Go to bed, close your eyes and sleep. I will come one hour later"
“Oh, it's like you don't know what condition I'm in. I've been like this for a long time"
You heard your boyfriend sigh
“Look y/n. I am very busy right now. The boss will be mad at me if I don't go now. Let's talk about these when i come back, okay?"
"But…"
"Goodbye"
Before you could say a word, he hung up and left you alone at home on this stormy night, alone with your fear.
You turned on your phone's flashlight and walked cautiously down the dark hallway to the door. You locked the door of your house from the bottom and the top 3 times. Insert the key into the lower slot of the door.
You knew that thieves could easily open doors with crowbars and the like. Even though the fierce storm outside scared you, you felt safe because the door was locked.
With the flashlight in hand, you looked at the fuses and didn't see any change. In this situation, you had no choice but to wait for the electricity to come.
You're back in bed. You pulled the duvet over your head and closed your eyes and tried to sleep on Tsuki's side. His fragrance permeated the pillow and it calmed you down a bit.
You were thoroughly mingled with the sound of rain and the scent of your lover on the pillow. It was over, you fell asleep without even realizing it. Until there's a loud knock on the door
You jumped out of fright. It was in your heart. Had Tsuki arrived? Tsuki always took her key with her when she left the house. In the rush you forgot that you locked the door three times from above and below. Who was knocking on your door at this hour?
You were afraid of being a foreigner. You quietly walked towards the door. When you looked through the hole you could see nothing but a phone flashlight.
His heart was beating in his throat. The door was knocked more forcefully. You were about to lose your mind with fear.
You walked away from the door and your phone, which was on silent at the time, vibrated. Fortunately, it was Tsuki who called.
“A-Hello? Tsuki…Tsuki, please come quick, there's someone at the door! I am so afraid"
Your voice trembled. Your rising pulse was pumping adrenaline throughout your body without slowing down. Tears began to flow from his eyes
“Y/N. Will you open the door?"
There was boredom in Tsuki's voice
"W-What?"
"I'm telling you open it. I'm locked out. I can't open the door with the key because it's locked."
You hung up the phone and ran to the door. You called from inside
“T-…Tsuki? Is it really you?"
Tsuki's voice echoed in the apartment
“It’s me y/n.! Who else will it be? Open that door, don't make me talk in the apartment at night! People will be bother.”
"Ok! Ok I'm opening"
Hearing his voice, you were now sure that it was Tsuki who was at the door. You opened the locks one by one and hugged your boyfriend tight as soon as he opened the door
“Oh Tsuki! I was so scared that I can't explain"
You clung to his chest and began to sob.
Tsuki's hands were full. She threw the bags in her hands on the floor and closed the door.
He couldn't stand your crying, even though it was childish for him to be afraid when you were alone at home. He hugged you tightly and patted the back of your head. He placed his chin on his head
“Okay, it's over. You stupid! Why do you scare yourself so much?"
He kissed the top of your head
“Don't leave me alone again! I'm so scared without you!”
His heart broke once again when he remembered that he had neglected you. In fact, he knew he was in this state because of her.
He patted your back and head to calm you down
"Sorry. I neglected you. I ignored that he was depressed. Forgive me y/n"
You lifted your head from your chest and looked at him with teary eyes
“Tsuki! Don't work in that damn job anymore! Why do you still value work when I need you so much?
She wiped her tears with two thumbs. He tucked his bangs behind his ear
"You're right. My fault. Nothing is important than you. If that will make you happy, I will resign. After all, you are the most precious to me. Just don't be sad"
“Do you really do it?”
“Have you ever seen me say no to you until now? Of course I will. You just want it"
You smiled slightly. He then took you to bed and wrapped the blanket over you. A few minutes after he went to the kitchen, he came back with a mug of hot milk.
“Take this and drink it. Warms up for you”
With trembling hands you grasped the cup he held out
You said "thank you" and took a sip of milk
"How have you been? Are you better?" ' he asked, sitting down in the space beside him.
"Yes. I'm a little better"
“There is a strong storm outside. The electricity is also out. I had to warm the milk to you in a tube. Judging by the storm, electricity has no future until morning. I must admit, I was afraid of the darkness of the apartment, too. It's like someone is going to attack me from behind at any moment."
You answered him as you sipped your milk slowly.
“And you would dunk in the face of the attacker. The real attacker should be afraid of you"
“Not that much,” he said with a laugh.
You had a little chat. After you finished your milk, you put the mug on the nightstand next to the bed
There was nothing left in him for fear. You could sleep well now.
Tsuki put on her pajamas and took off her glasses and put them on the nightstand. You lay in bed together. He pulled you to his chest on the bed. His hands started to run through his hair.
"Come on! Get some rest" and kissed his head
You muttered "good night" in response.
His caressing hands helped you fall asleep in no time. After loving you for a while while you were sleeping, he too closed his eyes and fell asleep.
