Davey & Lindsey

Since we've been peeking into the future a bit lately, I figured I'd show these two (and Zia, who I posted with them yesterday as well).

Everyone thought former competitive snowboarder Davey was a serial romantic and guaranteed to never settle down. That was until he met structural engineer Lindsey by chance one night at a club. Lindsey, like Davey, has severe hearing loss and uses hearing aids. This particular night at the club, one of her hearing aid batteries had died unexpectedly, and since she was out alone, in her mind it just made sense to go home. As she was leaving, she passed by a complete stranger (Davey, of course) and just happened to notice one of his bright blue hearing aids.

The next thing Davey knew, this woman he'd never seen before was screaming something at him about batteries. Even with his hearing aids, Davey finds it challenging to understand people when there's a crowd or a lot of background noise. It was obvious that Lindsey comprehended his problem, because she pulled back her hair and showed him her own hearing aids.

On a whim, Davey decided to try signing with her, and the look of profound relief on her face when she replied to him almost made him want to laugh. If he was being honest, it was a huge relief to him too.

Needless to say, Lindsey didn't immediately go home after all, and she forgot all about her dead battery. By the end of the night, she and Davey had each other's phone numbers, and things progressed happily from there.

Eventually, Lindsey moved in with Davey and his mother, Bonnie. She loves living there because Bonnie treats her like a daughter. Davey and Lindsey aren't married, but they don't feel any pressure to tie the knot. They're of the opinion that they don't need a ceremony to be committed to each other.

Davey and Lindsey tend not to wear their hearing aids if it's just them and Davey's mother at home, because Bonnie is fluent in sign as well, and none of them needs to speak verbally to communicate effectively. Bonnie is a hearing person, so she's the one who hears if anyone's at the door and goes to answer it. The running joke in the Duke household goes something like:

Visitor: Are Davey and Lindsey here?

Bonnie: Yes. They're talking in the kitchen.

Visitor: I... can't hear them?

Bonnie: That's okay. They can't hear you either.

i keep getting fines for “excessive water consumption” it’s not my fault that the basement prison cells all need their own toilets and showers. and like the prisoners are not pulling their weight AT ALL. all they do is sleep and be scared of the rats all day instead of painting with the easels i provided so the fines are really putting a financial strain on the household. if i didn’t need them for their plasma i would have killed them all already because this is nottt as financially lucrative as i thought it would be

ORION Nose Piercings

The piercings from the Urban Homage kit were the first piercings I've genuinely liked that are non-cc ones, but the only thing that bummed me a little about them was that you could only apply all 3 pieces, the septum and both nostrils, at once. So, because they also visually kind of remind me of the piercings that I've made over years, I decided to go a bit further with that notion and seperate them, and make them completely compatible with my DIY system.

Additionally to that process, I've added a few extra versions, for example the nostril piercing having a smaller variant, and some septum placement/size alternatives. Hope you enjoy ♡

Things you should know:

Base game compatible.

For fem + masc frames, teen-elder.

4 nostril, 5 septum variations.

12 colors for all piercings.

Found under general (face) acc category.

Compatible with different presets and nose shapes.

You can use the piercings on their own, or combine them to your liking.

Updated Lashes

All my lashes will now appear in the new eyelash category in CAS! You can find them within the makeup section, and they will no longer require you to remove piercings or moles to apply them.

The latest base game update also lets you choose which outfits to apply the lashes to, finally!

Unfortunately, the textures will still conflict with rings and glasses, as the texture areas were not changed with the new update.

New Conflict Icons

The thumbnails now include icons showing which lashes conflict with what. This makes it easier to identify which lashes to apply if you also want your Sim to wear glasses or rings.

Deleting Old Lashes

You can download all the new versions below, but feel free to delete all my old lashes that are in the wrong categories. You don't HAVE to delete them, as they still work like before, but I recommend it to reduce clutter in CAS. All old lashes broke in the August Sims update.

Updating Your Sims

Your existing Sims won’t automatically start wearing the new lashes, so you will need to reapply them.

I also highly recommend the EA eyelash remover by Kijiko for a less blocky look!  You can get it here

Laptop Mode

The lashes will not work well with laptop mode turned on in graphics settings. If you use a lower-end laptop, you can still try to turn it off, but you may experience performance issues.
