Hot take but 90% of the time when people are like "oh I never play human characters in rpgs, they're just so boring aesthetically" they end up having a gallery of characters that looks like this

#dungeons and dragons #pathfinder #fantasy #if you need to rely on cat ears and horns to make your characters stand out from eachother then I really recommend just like #trying out more features that real people have that look distinctive/aren't commonly represented in media #body types and facial features that aren't considered conventionally attractive #distinctive scars and markings that come from the character's past #whether they're dramatically important or incredibly mundane story beats they're still story beats #hell even a different age or gender or whatever than is common for a given archetype can work wonders
