Day 81/699
I still hate the army. But I would still gladly serve to defend the nation even though most of the times when I go out I see non-Singaporean more than Singaporean. The nation is at peace & so I feel like most of the superiors here are our enemies despite wearing the same colored uniform & having the same country name sewn on our left chest. I still hate at the idea of being pushed around just because of "my rank is higher than yours". I hate people who play the power card. Yes you need to be respected, but respect is earned. Some I respect, but most I hated even though on a personal level to some of them I'm on terms with them.
Today was a rather slack day, just that the black sheeps spoiled the unit's conduct. Which I also hate that idea, not my fault but everyone gets the punishment which is irrational...like many things in the army.
I've started to open up to other mates though still keeping a low profile. They are the ones who will make my NS journey bearable.
Today area cleaning was ok. Some rooms for improvement. At start it feels good because the whole bunk synergy was on point. Most of my bunk mates are from the ptp batch (obese) but they are hardworking. They don't laze around. They have aspirations & dreams they want to work towards to. They have responsibility. They don't fall in late. A stark comparison to the black sheep. Sometimes I hated them like everyone else do, but I keep reminding myself & them that every where we go there are bound to have them. So its up to us to be patience with whatever problems they spell onto us. May God help us in dealing with these type of men.
Yesterday I met my senior who gave me insights to this life as a transport operation
Basically my 20 months (the rest of my NS life) schedule be like: · 1 month unit induction prog at sembawang camp (1st week settle IPPT, 2nd week settle live shoot, final week settle SOC) · 5 months driving course at kaki bukit camp (1 month basic theory & advance theory etc., 1 month learn class three, 1 month learn class four [which will be the most sian], 1 month all vehicle familiarizing, 1 month final tests) · 1 month help out at coy line & driving orientation on SG roads · 13 months supporting my unit artillery (most likely), operation phase, AETEC, FATEC etc. & overseas exercises like ex. wallaby Quite busy but not shiong. The operation phase can say is the most tiring but they will give rest accordingly cause the operation driving can be intensive like at 2am we need move off to support my unit to transfer & move their artillery pieces etc. Some days can be dry like just on standby all those. For us transport operator men the job is just to drive & meet the timing like within 4 hours be at the unit's camp we are supporting to move off their stuffs. Some sort like test our readiness & response time. But transport supervisors (transport spec/3SG) is do the shiong job like planning, more paper work, more admin work all. & they can kena quite rabak too if lets say we trnspt oprator didn't manage to reach the unit camp in four hrs.
I honestly like it in this camp cause its just 30 mins away from my house & the food here is so much better than in basics. Like even though it may not look presentable but damn the rempah the taste is there as compared to in basics where it is bland. & now with the barracks cleaned, it is much better. Just that new challenges arised, inept commanders -.-
Daily review:
1. What are the two aspects of my day was I most proud of (or happy about) today?
- Cleaned area as a result of good area cleaning team work
- Getting to know my result for IPPT
2. What could I have done better?
- Be more patient with Amir's soft spoken voice
- Control my temper against inept commanders

“THERE!” shouted Miyuki.
She was pointing to a teleporter, one of several out in the hall, marked TRNSPT BAY in Irken text. They could find a ship, any ship, and use it to get away before all of Irk was after them.
She stayed in the doorway for a second, blasting the last few cables, as everyone else ran past her; then she followed after them, her long legs letting her keep up easily.
membranes-strange-creation:
the-nightmare-is-smol:
They had to go. They had to leave Irk far behind. They had to go… to go…
“B-Back to Earth.”
It was the only place left for them. Despite the fallout that surely awaited…
The room almost seemed to darken a notch or two as Miyuki’s accusation hung heavy in the air. For a while, it seemed she would get no answer at all… But then the lead brain spoke, its voce low and ominous in the echoey chamber.
“Data restricted. Insufficient clearance.”
“Home?” said Gir quietly.
“Insufficient clearance?!” Miyuki echoed incredulously. “I am the ruler of the Irken Empire!”
Zim swallowed thickly, a fresh round of tears dripping down his cheeks.
All this time, he’d been striving for a home… that didn’t want him. Irk had thrown him away, as little more than a baby. Earth may not have been much better… but at least they weren’t actively out to kill him.
“Yes, Gir.” he croaked.
“We need to go home. Right no-”
“Emergency protocol activated. Tallest status revoked. All Irkens present now subject to immediate termination.”
“What?!” Purple shrieked, horrified.
