#understand my ship in 5 minutes#my art#tristan#lin#nova#lir#context for these two: basically just arranged marriage that works out#slightly more in depth context:#tristan was a newly ranked commander accompanying an entourage visit to his country's neighboring kingdom#he stopped an assassination attempt on the empress who rewarded him by basically insisting that he marry her favorite young cousin#both of them were encouraged to accept this match#the empress also did this to protect Lin by getting her out of the increasingly violent court#and after intensely interviewing Tristan and researching him to make sure he'd be a good match#her reasoning: Tristan was a former commoner given noble status due to his efforts in the army#and needed help dealing with with his own country's royal courts#Lin needed a good marriage with another noble and a safe place to stay away from the empress's enemies#so badabing bada boom#it wasn't THAT simple of course in the long run but it mostly worked out well for everyone#kingdoms (story)#OC
