hey, it’s the advice-needed anon. thanks so much for the quick reply! just in case you’ve seen this floating around tumblr already, I asked two other people (zalie and luna) this too. I’m trying to collect opinions since I’m a wildly indecisive person sometimes 😅
anyway, I have kind of a stupid situation here. I’ve wanted this ridiculous pair of shoes - roller shoes - since I was a very young child. I’ll be 22 soon and I’ve always tried to seem mature and older than I am, even though it means sacrificing parts of my personality, so I’ve always stayed away from “childish” things like heelies. I’m trying very hard to bring that childish side of myself back, since I’ve suppressed it so long.
long story short, I have the option to buy a pair of roller shoes (in this case, white clunky shoes with retractable wheels) or a pair of roller skates. I’m very new to skating (beyond ice skating twice in my whole life), but I want to learn. I’m trying to decide which to go for: the thing child-me has always wanted or something slightly safer and easier to learn. the reason I wanted the heelies/roller-shoes is because I can retract the wheels and wear them as shoes, but I obviously can’t do that with actual skates. the roller shoes are more expensive (by at least $20, depending on the model) and they’re both above $50. what do you think I should go for?
ps: sorry this was so long, and I hope this doesn’t seem stupid! thanks for being okay with me asking, means a lot <3 everyone’s being so nice about it :’)
Hey! Okay so, I've never tried rollerskating or blading or any of that, but in my humble opinion, I'd go for the safer and easier to learn option. Esp if this is smth you haven't done very frequently before. And maybe down the road you can buy the other ones, once you've gotten more experience! I hope this helps :)
