every once n a while, i fall in love w my ocs

they’re all childhood friends that ended up remaining besties despite all going separate directions after high school. They all originally became friends when they were kids because of their mutual love of pokemon - and each have a keychain of their favorite

Comet she/her - trans, works at a printing company but spends her downtime hunting down cool places to cave/climb/spelunk. She’s got a pretty big following online for her caving vlogs - specifically cause she tries to find the creepiest, most haunted looking places (Keychain - Treecko)

Aorora (Rory) she/her - currently in med school, training specifically to be a field medic for research/exploration teams. in her down time, she likes to sleep for 13 hours and binge gaming (Keychain - Pikachu)

Nilo They/them - they work as a freelance drummer and part time at the craft supplies shop their apartment is above. They’ve got a pretty busy social life, so they’re either always out and never at their apartment, or you can’t contact them for 2 weeks cause they’re hermiting away binge watching shows (Keychain - Totodile)

Lots goin on up there today

I almost forgot to post, today has been so weird. My bad sleep caught up with me and I ended up waking up at 4pm which is why im still awake. But it was a pretty chill day besides that. I finally played a little more Monster Hunter GU, I had forgotten how fun Striker Long Sword is. I got back on Star Ocean for a bit while I was waiting to leave work and that was cool. I really dig how Ioshua's foster father is a man named Foster. Then I started a Pokémon Sapphire randomizer when I got home and somehow I currently have a Treecko, Meganium, Totodile, Blastoise, and Deoxys. My starter was a Wailord and theres a Regirock near Verdanturf. This seed is insane

Really not a whole lot else going on though. Just wishing I got to spend more time at home generally. I might try Counter Strike 2 soon too just to play with my brother. The game looks a lot nicer than CSGO did visually. That was the main thing that kept me from it besides me just not wanting to play competitive games too much. I guess thats a weird mindset I've gotten into. Like I dont want to play games against strangers generally cuz it either ruins my day, or I feel bad because I might've ruined their day. It's funny to dunk on NPCs because they're dumb and can't utilize abstract thought, but I really dont like interfacing with the human mind too much. It's why I love co-op stuff like Monster Hunter or Barony, and why I like healing in FF14. Let's all just be besties

That's a good question. The absolutely irrational part of me is saying to have the crush of a lifetime and fall in love with someone all in a day (me, beating the hopeless romantic in me down on the daily with a broom "We are realistically romantically repulsed! If someone even looked at me I'd make a nasty face!") while the more rational is like Route 44 cherry vanilla Dr Pepper easy on the ice and some good lunch the middle ground is like Spot content of which I'm motivating myself to make

Powder— who was your first cartoon crush (if any) and why?

Hngb b hbb ok. So, I realized/remembered this quite recently and proceeded to tell all my friends so they could laugh at and with me. Have you ever seen those specials that play in pokemon movies where its like pokemon focused little adventures, no humans? When I was 5 and YouTube was magical I came across the full cut of Pokemon Gotta Dance (in Japanese dub, English sub) and I embarrassingly for no real good reason had the doki dokis for Ash's Treecko in fact because of this happening I watched the Hoenn series and no other pokemon series seriously just to see more of him and I also had a little book that read out the events of an episode where as a grovyle/sceptile he fell in love with a meganium I even have a little box set I got gifted as a kid because I was obsessed with this series in particular where I have a disc or two centered around episodes of him that was a portion of my life and I'm now blessing you with this information NOW AS OF WHY THIS IS... I do not know. And I'll most likely never know. But I live with this now.

hope it’s okay to jump in here like this but i just wanted to share my thoughts about the ghosts and pokémon starters because i have a Lot of them about this 😂:

thomas would definitely pick a water starter. sobble was my first thought but i think popplio or piplup would be contenders too

pat would get on very, very well with a turtwig

kitty would enjoy all of the alolan starters, i think, but would probably go for popplio in the end. or chikorita! friendly, smiley, good vibes all round :))

fanny would probably go for snivy or fennekin. both of them have final evolutions that feel quite demure/elegant (plus fennekin looks a bit like dante)

i think robin and grookey would be besties. they have exactly the same vibe and it is a great one

my first thought was that humphrey would love rowlet (i might be biased because it’s my favourite character and my favourite pokémon), but thinking about it i actually think he’d pick a cyndaquil or maybe a treecko 😄

i think the captain would really enjoy a treecko, or perhaps a scorbunny (but i think he’d like sceptile more than cinderace)

i think mary would very much enjoy tepig’s vibes, but i can also see her with a bulbasaur or maybe a chespin or torchic

hmmm julian i have the least thoughts on but i reckon he would probably like a squirtle or totodile

I can definitely see the way you thought of the others and the starters. Fanny and Snivy really would be a good match. That whole elegance thing that you mentioned fits with her. Maybe she'd also like being a coordinator ?

Now i just wanna see the ghosts with their starters right next to them goddamn 😭

whenever i have a treecko i always name it twails because of my bestie gracie because in middle school we brought our ds's into school and she showed me her team in like oras and all of her pokemon were super cute names like. she had a banette called toast (totally a ghost) and altaria called plings (plush wings) and her sceptile twails (two tails)
