I Was-a Too Late
CW: blood, implied character death(s)
[insert your favorite Mario game over jingle here]
I have nothing to say for myself.
I'm so sorry.
@wahooitsamee @peaches2217 You guys seemed interested, so... enjoy?
EDIT: I have a Luigi version (well, sort of) now too, called He's-a Gone if anyone's interested!

does anybody remember raymancer? i know he shows up all of once but he's kind of haunting me. a ward who shows up to fight what was at the time an A-class threat, got radiation poisoning from an evil clone of a ward from a different branch, then he eventually "got too sick to move" and died. do you think the chicago wards thought of their teammate withering away from radiation poisoning every time they saw vista after that?

its actually a crime that spike/dru is so unpopular relative to other btvs pairings when they are undeniably the most iconic freaks on that show and they changed everything for us as a society. how quickly we forget the sheer impact of THIS:

started thinking of how i'd do some kind of fusion with superfam/yj and tolkien's legendarium and. well it doesn't work very well BUT i'm entranced by two concepts:
a) clois as a thingol/melian type situation, where a minor god falls in love with someone who seems lesser than him in the eyes of others, but who he loves wholly and who loves him back and inspires him and. etc. clois invented romance you get it. but also
b) vanyarin wonderfam (maybe mixed with another ainu??? see this is where it starts to get thorny w the worldbuilding). specifically i'm just thinking of glorious golden warrior cassie with the light of the trees in her eyes. you know the tolkienesque descriptors would go so hard about her.

Hi! New OP fan here! Do you mind if I ask a genuine question?
What the hell is up with Nami?
Not only she's adopted but also she has no connection to her birth family because the one that actually found her was a little girl who just decided to pick up this random baby. Why does she have a backstory so disconnected from her family? Is this something that was ever addressed?
She's disconnected because from context there was a war with pirates in the town where nojiko and nami were at, we know nojiko's family is dead but we don't know about nami's since nojiko saw her all alone and took her with her (assuming most were dead in this town, whoever was taking care of nami was probably gone by this point)
we never find out who her family is (but apparently oda did want to make a movie about it at some point, but then didn't?)
i wouldn't mind if there was more to her background but i'm completely fine with there not. Nojiko just didn't want to leave Nami all alone, and Belle-mere couldn't leave either of them alone so they made their family together and that's all they needed
you'll see that one of the biggest themes in one piece, is found family! nami's whole situation is just the beginning
