Nothing was ever free in Rick's world, even the smallest gestures came with a cost, so he narrowed his eyes in scepticism, but made no further comment. His children deserved happy memories of the holidays, so if he had to put his distrust aside for one evening, then so be it. He'd still be on protective watch, anyway, that wouldn't change; especially not in a closed environment. "Well alright then. Merry Christmas."

Although Rick wasn't fond of his brother, Tommy had been surprisingly pleasant in comparison so far, and Glenn had already spoken highly of the man. Perhaps it'd be best to show him some leeway in terms of Rick's bad attitude. "It sounds more dangerous than beautiful, but I guess we've got to see it first. I'm sure Jude wouldn't mind havin' somethin' special to look at."

Tommy wasn't sure how his offer would be received by Rick's people, but he hoped if he could convince the leader himself, the rest would feel comfortable enough to join. It was the best peace offering he had. Months in, tensions between the groups still went unresolved, and now that Tommy's own family had faced theirs, he was in a place where he could work on the rest. Hearing the toddler, Tommy worked hard to maintain his expression, even as the girl stared back at him.

"Free of charge, man," he replied, speaking around the lump in his throat. "It's Christmas." He shrugged a shoulder, figuring that was explanation enough. At the question, Tommy's polite smile turned to a chuckle. "Yeah. If I hadn't seen 'em for myself, I'd call it crazy, too. But magic, I dunno. It can be real beautiful, sometimes. You guys should see for yourselves."
