      thankfully, dinner ended for her not too long after the conversation with her mom. excitedly returning to her apartment, she hurriedly goes up to her penthouse unit at the very top of the building and opens all the lights, throwing all her belongings to the side. chaeyoung did hear her message notifications go off while she was on her way back, so safe to say, she was more than thrilled to check them. it was like she was back in high school again, reminiscent to the heart-fluttering feeling of getting your crush or someone you like's texts. it made her feel so nostalgic but also so alive. she couldn't remember the last time anybody gave her this sensation from within.

checking his messages as soon as she plops onto her couch, she gasps at the photo he sent and the flirty messages as well. and before she could even type out a reply, her best friend ( who also had full access to her place ) comes barging in, right on cue. " oh my god ! you're here just in time. look ! " she flips her phone over to show her the selfie that hyunsoo sent, squealing with her and jumping around the living room like a maniac with the other. " i told you, i told youuuu ! he's so hot now. oh my god. okay, whew, i have to calm down. let me reply to him and i'll fill you in on all the details from today. " with a silly smile on her features, she giggles in between typing up her reply to him.

[ sms: hyunsoo ❤️ ] also.. have you decided on a place where we can meet? i'm actually free tomorrow, my schedule cleared up!

once she's able to send those messages out, she makes a quick call to her manager, canceling all of her schedules the following day just in case he's able to hang out. there was no way she would stall even further from seeing him again. if she could, she would hang out with him that same night. but she had to restrain herself. after all, she didn't want to seem too eager.

work day had come to an end, him going to buy some food, snacks and drinks for himself before going home. finally there, turning on lights in his apartment that was rather empty, spaceous but he likes it that way. cleaning up things before starting to cook, he does take a look at his phone now and then just to see if chaeyoung had replied to him, but now he was just being ghosted but he knows she isn’t ignoring him, indeed he had heard how in of a hurry her father had been on the phone.

❛ i wonder.. ❜ he starts, speaking to himself as he was cooking up some rice and meat for himself, snacking on vegetables on the side that he had chopped up. ❛ does she know how her father is.. ❜ shaking his head as he was now done, getting himself a bowl to add everything in; moving over to the living room, tv on and legs up on the coffee table as he just sits there, eating his food and watching a random show that was playing in the background. his phone suddenly beeping beside him as he moves, now legs down and the bowl on the table, hand quick to grab the phone, unlocking the screen just to see chaeyoung’s name on the screen and a huge smile on his features at this point. ❛ finally. ❜ thumbs busy typing now.

he was so shameless, just sending a selca of himself to chaeyoung and saying all those things, as he had pressed sent that was when regret settles in. ❛ why did i send that?! ❜ and he screams at his phone, dramatically slumbing on the couch. ❛ i’m so dumb.. now she will think i’m still a weirdo. ❜ and he tries to delete the messages but way too late. ❛ i guess not.. ❜ and he puts the phone face down on the couch, hands covering his face now. ❛ lee hyunsoo, what did you do? ❜
