let's speculate about bucktommy as a distraction from the horrors(tm). do we think they're back together by the funeral? or do they reconcile afterwards?

i believe the beginning stages of the reconciliation will take place in 815 before bobby's (alleged) death. buck didn't call tommy post hook-up because he didn't want to get back together for the wrong reasons (loneliness). grief is admittedly a worse one. the makeup being driven by emotional turmoil and mourning would contradict all the character development buck was afforded by the end of 811. he needs clarity and intentionality, not another distraction.

so... i think it's likely buck will ask for a saturday date on that rooftop a few hours before disaster (👨‍🚒🕊️❓) strikes, assuming the two-parter ends in tragedy. that would serve as a turning point for their relationship, allowing buck to express sincere feelings for tommy free from the influences of loneliness or grief, and ensuring that their rekindled romance is based on an authentic desire to be together rather than circumstantial pressures, even if they don't technically become a couple again until 816 or later

🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ agreed, after that last bucktommy scene, it would go against their own message to make the reconciliation a part of buck's grief process. however, i think it would also be possible for tommy to step up as a friend and not as a lover first, and make bucktommy a thing for mid or end of s9 so that buck can process his emotions first. not sure how much the show has left tho

that's an option. 911 isn't exactly known for its patience or tendency to let storylines marinate so i doubt they'll drag it out that long but what do i know? i was swearing up and down that we were witnessing gerrard's funeral until Facts and Informations were divulged... ig they could stretch the will-they-won't-they until the finale when bobby magically raises from the dead and buck no longer fears grief is clouding his emotions and making him latch onto tommy for ~the wrong reasons~ 😸
