Can we get some more sahsrau? Does not have to be a long one-shot, I just really like how you write! And I would love to hear more of your ideas!
Maybe about how specific characters show that they interact with the reader? For example, how they act before reader is in HSR, and once reader is in HSR? As for characters, you can choose who ever you want! You're the one writing it after all.
As for writing, you asked if writing gets better if you do it often? And well, for me what works is writing, doesn't matter if it not good, just enjoy yourself. Plus reading books, fanfics, or whatever you like once again, and this time try to pay attention to how things are worded in your favorite books/fanfics.
Anyway, take good care of yourself cause there are always people who care about you, and stay hydrated!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright! First ask. Only gonna be headcanons because I’m a procrastinator. Reader discretion is advised, because I have no idea what to put for the content warning. I think it only goes for Kafka though.
Herta
I touched on her briefly in another post, but know that despite her arrogance and apathy towards most, she’s just as down bad for you as the rest of the cast.
She gives her absolute best when it comes to you.
Also in Simulated Universe, your word is absolute law. If the simulated you decides that the project is a bad idea or something, Herta will absolutely stop, regardless of the resources she put into its creation.
I imagine her to be with you the exact opposite of how she treats everybody else- with the utmost respect and attention.
Once you actually do make it inside of the game for whatever reason, Herta is absolutely ecstatic.
When you’re actually around her though…
Let’s say that her IQ drops by a significant amount.
Combined with her intense faith, this can lead to a lot of misunderstandings and false assumptions.
You can legit just be sitting down or something and herta will be in the background like “WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN!”
Misha
Born as a reincarnation(?) of the Watchmaker, I’m not actually going to discuss him. Rather, I wanna talk about who he originally was, and (technically) his creation.
Mikhail Char Legwork, aka The Watchmaker, was also a devout follower of yours.
All throughout his travels on the Express, he never lost sight of your mercy, which allowed him to survive on his long journeys.
Thanks to this, you end up as a “character” in the Clockie cartoon, who the writers show as a mysterious figure who gave Clockie his powers.
There’s also a LOT of propaganda surrounding you in basically every piece of media, (in the game) including Clockie.
Speaking of media…
Robin
ah yes, the shining popstar of the universe herself, Robin!
Robin’s no doubt another faithful follower of yours.
She believes that her amazing voice and innate talent came from you (it actually came from Chevy, holy cow is she a good singer) and she gives many praises to you for that.
In fact, do you want to know what her best selling single is?
It’s not Sway to my Beat in Cosmos, nor Hope is The Thing with Feathers, and it’s not even If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking!
It’s actually a song- a hymn, rather, composed and sung specifically just for you.
Ask basically anybody who is a fan of hers and I can bet that they know the lyrics by heart and can absolutely sing it backwards.
Make it into their reality, and you’ll get free access to front seats to any and all of her concerts. And when I say “front seat” I mean you get a whole ass throne specifically built for your comfort.
She will die of joy if you ask her for an autograph. Keep that in mind.
Kafka
last but most certainly not least, it’s our mom, but more commonly known as Kafka, the charismatic and beautiful Stellaron Hunter with a big bounty and big boobies. (I’m f#cking ashamed of myself for writing that)
She’s the one character on this list that we haven’t been given a backstory for- except some voice lines, but they really don’t tell us anything.
As such, the only real thing I can tell you is that she’s faithful to you, just like everyone else.
It becomes a completely different song and dance if you come to them, though.
She’s essentially a glorified wine aunt, and she will treat you out for whatever you wish.
She’s also very very defensive of you.
That guy over looks stole a glance? Dead next morning.
That girl goes even within 50 meters of you without your permission? Her fate is sealed.
Kafka is by no means like this to you, however.
She’s probably gonna lick your shoes free of charge.
(A/N: I, uh, really like asks. please send more. you probably won’t get anything good, but least you’ll get what you requested.)

Repeat after me:
Nesta👏🏻Archeron👏🏻Is👏🏻Not👏🏻Morally👏🏻Grey
I even see some self proclaimed Nesta fans call her morally grey?? This woman could not have more dead set morals if she tried, that is literally one of the biggest reasons she and the IC don't get along.
Nesta could be seen as lawful good* but I would say she leans more towards being chaotic good** because she will challenge authority but either way the key word is good. It's bizarre to me that even her "fans" act as if she isn't good at her very core.
I swear in this fandom a man could commit the most heinous acts and people will act like he's a golden retriever (prime example, Cassian) but a woman is grumpy/disagreeable and isn't anti social in a cutesy way and somehow that means she's not a fully good person?
Again, repeat after me:
Disagreeing with the IC does not make a character morally grey.
Just because a character makes decisions that the IC or the reader wouldn't make or agree with, does not make them morally grey.
A female character being disagreeable doesn't make them morally grey.
The IC are not the standard of morality. They're supposedly morally grey but simultaneously the best of the best people and they can't even get either of those right.
Now I'm not trying to say that Nesta is perfect. Nobody is and let's face it characters aren't as interesting when they're completely perfect (except Fenrys Moonbeam). But the worst she has ever acted was in the cabin and I'm sorry but that was justified and Feyre was just as bad yet she doesn't get nearly as much flack for it.
*Lawful good describes characters or things that are systematic, orderly, and principled. Lawful good characters promote the greater good, while following established procedures or rules
**Chaotic good represents a willingness to challenge authority and break rules to achieve positive change. Chaotic good characters are rebels with both a conscience and a cause

A Thief's Heart: Returning Stolen Hearts
Synopsis:
In the land of Teyvat, where adventure and friendship thrive, you find yourself entangled with the Traveler and the various heroes of Genshin Impact. You have a unique hobby - you enjoy "borrowing" items from the characters in the game, but your intention is always to return them, often with heartfelt notes attached.
Gn reader x some of the genshin men and women (separated)
(I lost count on how many people I am doing)
You mostly embark on a journey with them,on the way there, you would secretly take something from them, for example;their items.
Diluc would be confused at first before knowing that you have taken one of his belongings. As you continues to "borrow" items from Diluc, he can't help but chuckle at your audacity. He honestly think that it’s adorable but won’t say it out loud.
Kaeya might playfully tease you when he discovers your secret.
"Ah, so it seems we have a little mysterious thief among us. I must admit, your antics are quite entertaining."
When Childe finds out, he bursts into laughter, finding your actions both amusing and endearing.
"Haha, you've certainly caught my attention in the most unconventional way. I can't help but admire your spirit."
Venti, the bard, would probably respond with a whimsical comment like,
"Ah, stealing hearts as well as items, aren't you? Your mischievous charm is truly captivating."
Albedo might approach the situation with scientific curiosity.
"I find your actions quite intriguing. It's as if you're conducting a unique social experiment."
When Xiao first realizes that you have been taking and returning items from him, he might furrow his brows in confusion. After awhile you might see him crack a rare, small smile. (Please tease him)
Upon discovering your secret activities, Zhongli would approach the situation with a keen sense of curiosity. He might leave you a rare and exquisite Geo related artifacts out of admiration (he finds your joy of “borrowing” his things adorable)
Ayato, upon learning of your actions, takes it upon himself to investigate discreetly. He finds your behaviour cute and wonders about your motives .
When Alhaitham confronts you, his demeanor is measured, but he adds a soft touch of affection, saying,
"I must admit, I find your actions intriguing, and they've piqued my curiosity. Could you enlighten me about your motivations?"
Bennett would react with enthusiasm. He thinks that you're like a lucky charm and always returning what you take. Your positivity is contagious, and he can't help but admire your optimism.
Razor, while initially be confused, could express admiration with sincerity, saying,
"You not take. You return. Good friend. Razor likes."
Eula, though would be initially confused, but she will hide it by saying “Vengeance will be mine” (yeah im sure we all know what she is going to say)
Yanfei, a skilled legal advisor, may initially see your actions as legally ambiguous. However, she's impressed by your commitment to balance and might offer legal advice to help to your continuous actions within Liyue's laws.
Ganyu, being a diligent worker, becomes curious when she notices your activities in Liyue. She quietly investigates, wondering about your motives. She finds it cute and adorable often smiling when she see you sneakily sneaking off with her stuff.
Yae Miko, always on the lookout for interesting stories, takes notice of your actions and becomes intrigued. She would probably tease you abit or so
Im not really good at writing as it is my first few times writing a fanfic but I hope you enjoyed reading this! You can take this idea and write it if you want,I do not mind, but if you ever do write,I wanna read it 🥳🥳. I was reading a fanfic by @thatdeadaquarius and just got the idea to write it,it’s not the best lol. It’s not that I like Childe,it’s just that he is easier to write.

i'm writing a character who is a serial killer but not willingly if that makes sense. like, she kills once she finds that she finds herself in a murder or be murdered type of situation.
like in one scene, her mother's ex boyfriend comes back to try and get back together with her, but finds her daughter instead so he tries to s/a her but she stabs him and he bleeds out.
then in another scene she get's jumped by two guys and she stabs them both to death as well.
so i'm just wondering if you have any tips for writing such a complex character who kills but feels bad about it before, during and after the fact.
she doesn't enjoy the act of murder. she doesn't get off on it. she simply on kills so she can survive.
thanks so much!
This is a topic very close to my heart! I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in forensic psychology, both from accredited U.S. institutions. No fictional murder best-sellers under my belt, but it’s a topic I know a lot about.
Sometimes, people kill for reasons that aren’t nefarious. There’s the cut-and-dry self defense (“it’s me or them”), the culmination of years of abuse, or sometimes it’s completely an accident (which is called “involuntary manslaughter”).
Murder mysteries and thrillers are top-notch reads and go hand-in-hand with pop culture’s fascination with true crime. But what goes into writing an accidental serial killer, or one that’s more upstanding than you’d think?
Define your morals
In order to establish morally gray, you’ve got to set the good and evil boundaries within the world you’re writing. Is it a modern-day story, where a cold-blooded killer is the evil one and a person defending themselves against an attacker is the good one? Or is it a more intricate fantasy or science fiction setting, where the laws and morals aren’t quite the same?
The important part of writing a morally gray character, in general, is establishing the normal bounds of morality in your story world and then placing the character’s values somewhere in the middle. They’re not looking to hunt other people for fun, but the act also wasn’t a noble defense or socially acceptable resolution to the problem. I think that’s the hardest part, building enough plausibility and setting up empathy for the character’s actions while still writing them as a ‘villain’.
The vigilante
The easiest example of a morally gray killer is the vigilante. Typically, their motive comes from a righteous or judicial point of view, and they’re killing the “evil” ones. These types are taking out drug dealers, abusers, or anyone committing what they consider to be egregious or immoral acts. They perform bad actions to do good.
Doing bad things for good reasons is often considered “lawful evil”, wherein a character is still following rules but they’re doing so in a ‘bad’ way. That circles us back to the beginning; there should still be a compelling reason for their actions. That’s what pushes their assigned morality back from ‘black’ into the ‘gray zone’.
Crossing the lines
Consider what factors or events‌ would persuade a character to act in a worse or better way as a one-off circumstance, or a trigger that sways their actions. Perhaps they won’t kill parents, no matter what brought them into that position; maybe violence against women will often trigger a violent episode.
Gray, on the moral scale, has the obligation to be interesting — so don’t think too hard about staying within neutral territory. Swing one way or the other occasionally with good narrative build-up and support to really bring out the character’s individuality.
What if it’s always an accident?
Maybe your character is frequently caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, but they always manage to come out on top. What do you do then?
It’s first necessary to define a serial killer. Definitionally, a serial killer is a person that commits multiple murders. Murder being the key word — it must be on purpose for the act to fall on that definition. Otherwise it’s manslaughter (which is an incidental death where even if harm was meant, death was not). I can’t stress this enough: by definition, you can’t have a serial killer whose only kills were in self-defense or accidental. Your character must progress to proactive murder on more than one occasion for them to be considered a serial killer.
Of course, that’s not to say you can’t have other characters (or even their inner monologue) refer to them as a serial killer. Social knowledge rarely sees eye-to-eye with legal or academic terms and definitions. I just caution you against using ‘serial killer’ in marketing material or descriptive collateral, if this is the case. It is a technically inaccurate descriptor, and someone waiting for that switch from accidental to purposeful is going to be sorely disappointed when it never happens.
It could, however, be a great plot device to start there and explore the character’s evolution from unfortunate events to intentional murder. Maybe they were targeted for multiple violent crimes, and one day decided to be proactive and preemptively solve their problem (via murder, of course).
Avoid the Angel of Death
While a vigilante may be a good character type for the morally gray serial killer, the Angel of Death is not. This type of killer is looking for personal gratification by taking someone’s life into their own hands. More often than not, the Angel of Death is looking to make themselves a hero by saving the day, and the deaths are secondary (and a sign of their failure). I’ll admit that the line between “personal gratification” and “justice” can be a thin one.
The important distinction to keep in mind here are the moral definitions you’ve created: I can’t argue that an Angel of Death is serving any higher purpose than their own desire to cause situations where they might be a hero. It’s like hiring a hitman to take out a target, but intercepting the hitman just in time to save the target. The entire situation is at the mercy of the character; there’s no justice in the actions, no redeeming qualities. They don’t feel bad for sending the hitman — the outcome was planned from the start. And if they can’t beat the hitman? Oh well, better luck next time.
Convincing the reader that the protagonist has a good (“enough”) reason for their actions is key to achieving the moral middle ground. A reasonable, morally upstanding person probably won’t resort to the character’s actions, but they understand how the thought process could bring them where they are. The Angel of Death is fabricating the entire situation; a morally gray killer should be working towards a goal, or acting on a strong reason.
The morally gray serial killer isn’t looking to win anyone over, or get a standing ovation for their good deeds. They’re killing for a reason — a reason that wouldn’t normally drive someone to kill, but the reader can see how they got from point A to point B in the thought process.

Who do you think out of the Kengan cast are girl dads? Give your personal takes😝
okay okay okay okay. here are my personal takes + honestly they’re right so these are, in fact, law. i also included some kengan omega characters 😉
ps. the dudes that i left out, i believe, would not be a good father/i can't see them as a father or they would likely be closer to their son(s). for example, i can't really see gaolang as a father. he's a daddy, sure, + would be a top tier husband, but as a father i think he'd be super traditional + distant from his kids. raian, on the other hand, would likely see his kids only as "weapons" in the sense he wants to make them strong, but he'd also be closer w a son if he had a kid.
Tumblr media
tokita ohma is a girl dad. he’d be anything his daughter wants him to be + he loves her to absolute death. he’d kill for her. he’ll raise her to be the biggest girl boss in the world + he’s incredibly proud of her, no matter what she decides to do. he’s not really great at the advice + wisdom part, but he’s very comforting + supportive.
narushima koga is a girl dad. he’s so afraid, though. he’s so afraid he’ll mess his daughter up or teach her the wrong things but his daughter loooooves him. he seriously can’t get away, not that he would want to though. they’re best friends + he adores her. would kill + die for her. also, her biggest hype man.
hatsumi sen is a girl dad. he knows how bad men can be + is suuuper protective of his little girl. he’s basically like her shadow, but not in a creepy way. if anyone messes with his daughter, they’re fucking dead. he’s also at the mercy of absolutely anything she wants. he spoils the absolute fuck outta her.
himuro ryo is a girl dad. he’s a girl dad in the way that he doesn’t really see the point of separation of the sexes + he believes that anything a guy can do, a girl can do just as well or even better. he will instill this confidence in his daughter + watch her take over the world. he’s her number one fan 🥺
jose kanzaki is a girl dad. kiind of like sekibayashi but to a much less degree. he’s the kinda girl dad that lets his daughter do absolutely whatever she wants + will back her 100%, especially if what she wants to do is in a male dominated field. he’s gonna help her bring down tHE FUCKING PATRIARCHY.
KANOH AGITO IS A GIRL DAD. YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE. ABSOLUTELY WHATEVER HIS DAUGHTER WANTS HIM TO BE HE WILL TO THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF HIS ABILITY. FIND THIS MAN GIVING HIS DAUGHTER PIGGY BACK RIDES, SHOULDER RIDES, ETC ALL DAY EVERY DAY. HE WANTS TO LEARN HOW TO DO HER HAIR SO HE CAN BE USEFUL TO HER. HE WANTS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT SHE LIKES SO THEY CAN TALK EVEN MORE. HE WILL TRY HIS BEST TO GIVE HER ADVICE + HE WANTS TO SEE HER SUCCEED AT ANYTHING SHE PUTS HER MIND TO. ALSO. IF YOU MESS W HER YOU’RE GOING TO BE WIPED FROM EXISTENCE.
lihito is a girl dad. In a similar way to Sen, he knows how men can be + will be super protective of his daughter. BUT he’s kinda awkward around her. he sees are as such a precious little thing + is super scared of fucking it up. he loves her from afar though + is always always always there for her when she needs him.
mokichi robinson is a girl dad. need i say more?
muteba gizenga is a girl dad. he’s his daughter’s best fucking friend. they wreak havoc together. he teaches her everything he knows + is her biggest fucking fan. he’s a Grade A Dad.
SEKIBAYASHI JUN IS A FUCKING GIRL DAD. HE’S OUT HERE BEING THE BEST FRIEND, FATHER, TEACHER, IN THE WORLD. HE IS THE BEST DAD. HE’S SO WISE + SO CARING + SO PROTECTIVE. he’s never done a single thing wrong. i want him to be my father actually.
takayama minoru is a girl dad. he’s the sweetest w his daughter + she prefers him over everyone. so gentle + so kind. wow 🥺

its very interesting to me how Tamlin is the character and High Lord that is heavily vilified (I would almost say even more than Beron strangely) when he is the only High Lord to have talked about d how he has gone about removing slavery within his court, protecting lower fae in general, and his court was open to immigration from other courts (i cant remember if its mentioned again in acomaf but in acotar fae from other courts are free to move to the spring court. example, Alis) and how overall he is a great leader. Especially when you compare him and Rhysand as High Lords.
The Court of Nightmares is well, a nightmare. Its existence is extremely strange and makes Rhysand look very odd. as well as its unclear how Rhysand gets his wealth. Velaris was a hidden city until acomaf-ish, which means it was locked (so no immigration or emigration which isn't bad per-say but does bring up how it works economically) and Rhysands inability or unwillingness to protect his citizens (not enforcing the wing clipping ban and allowing people to be abused in the CoN. and before anyone starts about him not being able to control the illyrians, why did he make it a law in the first place? It just makes him look bad) makes him look like a shitty ruler. His supposed "feminism" and friendship with the people of velaris doesnt answer these very important questions or justify the strange shit he does. Versus Tamlin, which you can refer to my opening statement for the comparison. Also to note, his rule only came into question and stability after Feyre broke into people minds (which I do feel is extremely gross and a huge violation of ones autonomy and privacy) and had to sabotage him. I won't comment how I feel about this in this post, but it says a lot that she had to go through such lengths to break him down. Especially after it was revealed he was in fact a double agent and never actually siding with Hybern.
The only time Tamlin is an arguably bad high lord is in acofas and acosf where he is in a severe mental crisis and not in a position to properly rule. But even then, it's not clear if this is actually causing harm to the land and people. It's probably not good because they don't have a proper leader but I can't believe it's a severe issue.
Its definitely a strange choice, isn't it? Cause I think anyone in their right mind would choose the anti-tyranny, anti-slavery leader who does his best for his people... and its somehow not our supposed 'hero'
"I once told you I would fight against tyranny, against that sort of evil. Did you think you were enough to turn me from that?"

[Dead Boy Detectives] A gift
Title: A gift
Fandom: Dead Boy Detectives
Rating: G
Characters: Edwin Payne, Charles Rowland, Niko Sasaki, Crystal Palace, Tragic Mick, Jenny Green
Pairing: Charles Rowland/Edwin Payne
Niko Sasaki loves her ghostly friends and wants the best for them. So she goes to see Tragic Mick to find a gift for them.
On AO3
Tumblr media
“Hello Mick.”
“Niko! Alone today?”
“Yes. I wanted to ask you something.”
“Of course. You have a perfect timing, I was going to take a break.” They walked into Mick’s office and he prepared some hot chocolate.
“There. I hope you’ll like it.” Niko took a sip.
“Ah! I love it. It reminds me of the one my grandmother always did for me when it was rainy and I couldn’t go out.” Mick hummed.
“You wanted to ask something?”
“Yes. I know you do Edwin and Charles’ disguises. Can you do ones that look like themselves but like today’s teens?” She kept drinking her chocolate with little sips.
“Edwin and Charles asked me the same thing and I will give you the answer I gave them. To do a 100% look alike disguise, laws indicates that you need to wait 250 years. They didn’t ask any more questions after that.” Mick seemed disappointed about that. Suddenly, an idea popped-up.
“What if the disguise is not 100%. Could you do, for example, a female version of themselves?” Mick smiled.
“That I can do, darling Niko.” Niko smiled at him. “That I can do.” he whispered just before sipping the last of his drink.
*-*-*-*
It was a sad day for the members of the Dead Boy Detectives Agency.
“Mail!” yelled the mail-man, making the four people in the room jump.
“One day…” warned Charles.
“Mail, and a message from Mick. You need to go and see him before leaving.” The mail-man disappeared.
They grumbled and resumed the task they were doing: packing up Niko’s possessions.
*-*-*-*
“Mick! You wanted to see us?”
“Charles! Indeed. Edwin, Crystal and lady that I don’t know.”
“I’m Jenny. I’m their landlady.”
“You’re a good friend Jenny. She was there when we got your message. We were packing Niko’s stuff to send back to her mother.”
“I’m sorry to hear about Niko. I gave her a little bear figurine. Do you still have it?” Crystal took it out of her pocket. “Keep it. You should also learn more about polar bear. Now! I called you here because Niko came to ask me a favour. Edwin, Charles. You asked me if I could make you a disguise that look like you.”
“I remember, you said you couldn’t.”
“No. I said that I could only do a disguise that looked 100% you after 250 years. Niko find the loophole: I could make a disguise that it’s not 100% you.”
“You can?”
“I have. All I had to do, on Niko’s advice, is to make a disguise that look like you but as a girl.”
“Put it on! I want to see!” exclaimed Crystal.
“These ones are special. They last longer, up to 8 hours, but they take 24 hours to recharge.” Mick gave Charles and Edwin a bracelet. They were the same except for the name on it: Charlotte and Edwina. They put it on and instantly became their female-selves, with today’s clothes.
“You are gorgeous!” Jenny said with enthusiasm. Edwin and Charles couldn’t get their eyes off of each other. Crystal rolled her eyes and waved her hand to Mick and Jenny to leave the lovebirds alone.
“You’re ravishing.” told Edwina to Charlotte, who blushed.
“And you are so beautiful I just want to kiss you.”
“Don’t mock me. I’m probably not that beauteous.”
“You don’t see yourself but it’s ok, we will find a mirror and I’ll show you. And I don’t mock you. I really, really want to kiss you. Can I?” Edwina looked at her and nodded slightly. It was everything Edwin imagined a first kiss with the person he loved most would feel. Even better. “I want to take you on a date.”
“A date?”
“Yes, unless you... don’t want to?” Charlotte was hesitant.
“I want. I want! I just didn’t thought you would want though.”
“I’m going to chaperone you two, just so you know!” yelled Crystal from Mick’s office.
“I wanted to go to see a movie with you and maybe a walk in the park?”
“This would be wonderful, Charlotte.”
They smiled to each other. Even from the other side, Niko got them an amazing gift. She was the best sister Edwin could ask for.

Do you have any info about your Lux variant? :O Her design is literally so gorgeous; I'd love to know more about her!
OKAY, SIT DOWN BECAUSE I HAVE MORE TO SAY ABOUT HER THAN I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT (I've been here for like an hour or more)
Her design was made by both me and my friend @xommed, and more than a variant we think of her as our interpretation of the character, which may or may not be very different from the original Lux because the only thing we have from he is fro when she was a kid, so we kinda made up all about her lol
She lives in the Omega Timeline with her parents Dream and Cross, and her half brother Palette. Her best friends are Shino (one of the afterdeath kids) and Drew/Sasha (Mine and Xomma's horrordust fankid), though she is friend with a whole lot of other characters and fankids (The Death kids, Gradient, Blue Print, PJ, etc)
Lux doesn't have a defined age, as sometimes we may draw her older or younger depending on the situation, but most of the time we draw her as a teen or young adult. If I had to be a bit more specific regarding her age, I'd say she's about a year older than Shino and Drew
She is a calm and kind person who won't hesitate to help people, but she's not afraid to say things just how they are or kick someone's ass for being an asshole. Her world view is similar to Dream's but a bit more realistic; she belives that anyone can be a good person if they try, but she knows that not everyone really wants to try to be good
In her friend group she is the voice of reason, but just because she's usually the smart one it doesn't mean that she doesn't have her stupid moments either. She can be very silly, but knows when to get serious. Lux usually likes going along with whatever dumb thing Sasha and Shino have going on, sometimes even she herself initiating said dumbery, but knows where the line lies for things
Regarding school, Lux is a decent enough student. She is a smart girl, but school is just so boring! She does just the bare minimum to pass, leaving homework undone and projects half baked. She may be the "voice of reason" in most occations, but that doesn't mean she follows her own advice when it comes to responsability
As noted in the previous paragraph, Lux can be a bit "rebelious". She doesn't take certain laws, rules and regulations seriously, either because she thinks they're dumb or can't make any sense of them (Example: doing grafities in the Omega Timeline, eating in class, elbows on the table while eating, etc). There has also been ocations in which she has skipped classess she finds easy (like English class to give an example) out of boredom or gotten out of her house when she wasn't allowed to (She always notifies Palette though, so at least someone knows where she is + she knows her brother is not gonna snitch, because she does the same for him)
Lux has a very good relationship with her family, but her parents can sometimes be a bit too overbearing for her, specially when they talk about responsability. With Palette everything is all good all the time. They constantly tease each other about certain things, but they know there's no intent to hurt behind their words. The siblings are always there for each other when they need them
Some fun facts about her: · She can change her "hair" however she wants. Most of the time she has it like how you see in my art, but if she wanted to she could change it so it lookes more like canon Lux, or make it longer, make it defy grabity, etc. The only thing she can't change about it is the colour · She's very intuitive when it comes to figuring out people's feelings and what to do about them. However, she has a bit of a rougher time when it comes to figuring out her own feelings · She is a self sacrificing type of person. She'd do and give anything, and I mean, ANYTHING for the people she loves · She's a lesbian (of course she is) · Her design was subconciously inspired by Hatsune Miku (we didn't realise how similar they were until later on)
Lastly, I'd like to share some sketches me and Xomma did while trying to figure out her design because, WHY NOT? (All pencil drawings were made by Xomma)

Hi! I wanted to ask you something, since I really enjoy how you characterize the relationship between a grumpy, lonely, stoic, angry etc. character like Ghost (though I don’t know if I’d say he’s angry) and a love interest. What would those first few interactions be like, (would she seek him out, and would it annoy or confuse him) and what characteristics would he see early on in her to realize that he likes her. I can see someone like him avoiding her initially, until his feelings are too strong and then he’s all in. I don’t know, maybe that’s an incorrect interpretation. Also you kind of already answered this question in a previous ask, but I just love how in depth your character analysis is!! Hope your day goes really really well and thanks for giving us all some fantastic stories!!
First of all, thank you for your interest and praise! Also, this is such a lovely, cute question ️🩷✨️ I certainly don't consider myself as any kind of a Ghost expert, but I absolutely love to share my thoughts on him and love to hear other people's thoughts on this man too 💕
My thoughts on this under the cut ->
"I can see someone like him avoiding her initially, until his feelings are too strong and then he's all in."
Yes, me too, definitely! Trust issues are one reason for avoidance, but I have this HC about Ghost having an ominous feeling that he's born with bad luck. He has this almost superstitious belief that shit will hit the fan whenever he turns his back. That's why he's so gloomy: quotes like "People you know can hurt you the most" and "Choices have consequences" come to mind... The latter imho is a perfect example on Ghost's instinctual belief in Murphy's law instead of being a neutral, logical take on how laws of cause and effect work.
This inner conviction that tragedy and disaster follow him wherever he goes is why he subconsciously steers clear of relationships and, in fact, any chance of happiness: because happiness is always followed by immense pain in his world of experience.
But like you said, if he gets "trapped," it's challenging for him to pull back anymore. He's curious by nature and gets a kick out of physical intimacy and extremes - and love and lust are one of the most intense experiences there is! Violence can be viewed as a profound, distorted form of intimacy (like... this guy is an expert in hugging people from behind and plunging a knife in them 🫠), so of course passionate sex is like a drug to him. Tender lovemaking or rough rutting – as long as he's present and his partner is present too.
So I'd say he's drawn in by physical attraction and sex first (not that he would be into superficial hookups, I think he'd rather deprive himself of sex altogether than have a series of shallow one-night stands), and this would eventually lead to feelings which grow in depth until he cannot keep himself away any longer.
I think people like Ghost could be compared to a wild animal or an abused dog 🥲 so it's better to let him "sniff" you first. Smothering him with attention and demands will only drive him away. But after he sees you 1. are not a threat 2. accept him as he is 3. give him the occasional treat (lol), there's a good chance he will eventually trust you and attach himself to you.
(Again, I can't believe this is my life now: talking folk psychology about a traumatized fictional man on Tumblr, but here we are, this is fine ☕️✨️)
Ghost also has to feel he's needed in the relationship, just the way he wants to feel qualified and capable in his work. If you try to force him to be something he's not, he will likely leave – simply because he doesn't want his partner to settle for anything but the best. But if he gets a feeling that he is needed and can provide and be of service to his partner, he will do anything in his power to make them feel protected, safe, and content (in that order). I also think he prefers to feel useful rather than be admired – that's why he would consider a friends with benefits setup insufficient. Also, feelings! If he senses he's just being used while slowly developing something more than just horny feels for the other person, it will only make him resentful and, again, drive him away.
"-what characteristics would he see early on in her to realize that he likes her."
It's difficult to say because I don't think Ghost has a particular "type." It's more about the chemistry and little things to him: I see him as a man of detail, so it might be something very fleeting and minimal in a person that catches his attention.
But if by characteristics you mean what kind of behavior he appreciates (not sure if I got this question right), then perhaps patience paired with acceptance and compassion. I think he wants his partner to be independent... and dependent on him. Like I said earlier, he wants to feel needed but doesn't want to be smothered. He wants to feel useful but not used. He demands unconditional loyalty but despises childlike codependency.
I wrote a standalone sequel to Refugee a while ago and will post it here soon, in it I explore your question on what the first interactions would be like (from Ghost's POV). 💞
I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this! Or any Ghost & relationships topics for that matter 😍

Fun Facts About Your Tav!
Tumblr media
Thank you for the tags, @pinkberrytea and @kalmiaphlox !!! ❤️❤️
Answering for my Tav/Durge Ofelia from With Stars to Fill My Dream! No pressure tags for my lovely friends @verbenaa @preciouslittlebhaalbae @inkymoonbunny @ladyduellist @justabiteofspite @khywren @coyote-mint @bardic-inspo @roguishcat @elinorbard @allymcfee @busy-baker @nerdallwritey @nerdalmighty @lanafofana
Ofelia 🩸
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Is Your Character Good, Evil, or Neutral? (Makes some good decisions, some bad ones?)
Ofelia's Lawful/Neutral Good- she's not afraid to stand up for herself or those less fortunate and will do what's right even when facing opposition. I answered the questions in this alignment quiz from her perspective, but she's generally a rule breaker, especially when those rules are unjust. If they end up hurting people she's likely to ignore them and break them completely.
2. What Hobbies Do They Partake In?
Since she's a bard, I feel like it's kind of self explanatory lol. Since that's the obvious answer, I'll go more in-depth into the ones she doesn't really talk about that much. She loves to journal- memories are really important to her, and since she'd moved around so much during her childhood, remembering the people and places that left an impression via writing it down became a ritual for her. She loves to photograph things in her spare time, by no means a professional, but she'll often take those photos and put them in her journal. She also loves to read!
3. Do They Own Any Heirlooms From Their Family or Ancestors?
Not really... that question has a bit of a difficult answer. I have some things planned for later in Act 3 that will kind of answer this question, but since they're insane spoilers I won't talk about them.
As for her Earth family, she has some recipes she usually makes to remember them by, as well as her adopted mother's hairstyle- the high braid.
4. Can Your Character Cook?
Since recipes were mentioned before, yes! She's best at making hispanic cuisine, especially her adopted mother's signature dish- pazole! Her other favorites to make are pretty much stealing from my own palette so lots of more ethnic foods.
5. Does Your Character Have a Best Friend?
At this point in the story, she'd probably consider Shadowheart the closest thing to a best friend so far. As for her Earth friends, she did have two who she was going to reach out to before the mind flayer ship took her. Their names were Hannah and Arianna- and they were all in a band together in high school!
6. Their Biggest Fear?
Ofelia's biggest fear is feeling like she'll never belong anywhere. She only had a real family once, and they were taken from her when Bhaal did his fun little possession thing that he does. Aside from them, she's met nothing but terrible people using their positions for their own gain and not caring what happened to those around them. Friends were either killed off by Bhaal when he was able to latch on from so far away or were forcibly removed from her life when she was moved to another foster family. Knowing that she hasn't been able to make genuine connections- whether it be by those means or self-sabotage out of fear of eventually losing them- is something that haunts her the most.
7. Name One of Their Red Flags.
She's generally okay, but I feel like her spells of falling victim to her father's influence are a pretty big one. Chapter 8 was not a shining example of her self-control, lol. She's quick to anger, and will most definitely fly off the handle if she feels like she's been mistreated or disrespected. Not to mention her less-than-stellar track record with communication- which will be biting her in the ass pretty soon in the story.
Again- thank you for tagging me! Sorry this took ages to complete, I have asks to get to as well and I am working on it! (today is pretty shitty, I have to go back to an insane amount of emails at work after being on vacation as well as the overall crap state of my country now, so I'll be fighting for my life lol)

Cursed Child is awful, but I really like Astoria and have enthusiastically adopted that version of her into my headcanons.
First of all, I like that she's a genuinely good person who was (most likely) a Slytherin. I'm totally here for interesting villains and morally gray characters, but there's something very irritating about the way Slytherin is consistently the "evil" house in canon, as if 25% of the student body can be reliably identified as bad people from the age of eleven. Astoria is one of the few exceptions and feels like a breath of fresh air. She can be kind-hearted, loving, and non-prejudiced and still be a Slytherin, and I love that about her.
The blood curse is a pretty blatant example of fridging: Astoria is not meant to be important in her own right and is killed off to create angst for her husband and son, as well as to get her out of the way before the main plot gets started. But ignoring how it's handled in the play, I think the idea of the blood curse has a lot of interesting potential. The Greengrasses must have been in a very odd position, being part of the upper crust of pure-blood society and yet having their family's greatest weakness be a curse passed down from one of their ancestors, whether that is openly known or kept secret.
Astoria was raised with the same ideology as many Slytherins, in a family that was surely not still pure-blood by accident, but rejected that ideology and never looked back. That might have had a little bit to do with the curse and the weird position it likely placed her in, but I think it probably had more to do with the war.
Her experience was described on Pottermore as "similar (though less violent and frightening)" in comparison to Draco's, which I take to mean that she wasn't personally affected by the war. She was pure-blood, her parents weren't Death Eaters, and she was only fifteen or sixteen when it ended. She most likely flew under the radar and was left alone. And yet, she still came out of it believing in equality, unwilling to pass down bigoted ideas to the next generation.
To me, this suggests that she was a compassionate and empathetic person who was moved by seeing how harmful the ideology was to other people. Reading about all the awful stuff that was happening, hearing about the ways in which the war was affecting her classmates, witnessing the Carrows' cruelty even if she herself wasn't their target - although she was a bit too young to be involved in it personally, the war must have played a huge role in shaping how she sees the world.
Astoria is, above all else, a good mother. She and Draco raised Scorpius differently than how they were raised, and it shows. She taught him that Muggles are people deserving of his respect, she sent him off to school with sweets to share hoping it would help him make friends, she encouraged him to be kind and generous rather than trying to mold him into a snob or a bully. And, it's strongly implied, she helped him make sense of his family's past, especially his father's ("Mum always told me that you were a better man than I could see" - CC Act 3 Scene 3).
What really breaks my heart, more than the blood curse, is what a lonely life Astoria seems to have led as an adult. She clearly had a loving relationship with Draco and Scorpius, but between her disapproving in-laws and the stigma of being connected to the Malfoys, her husband and son seem to have been all she had. Not only is she never mentioned having any friends as an adult (which could just be because she's out of focus), Scorpius obviously had a very isolated childhood, and the family is subjected to vicious rumors thanks to Rita Skeeter. Scorpius never even mentions his maternal grandparents or his aunt when he talks about his family. Did Astoria still have a relationship with them as an adult?
And yet, it was entirely her choice. She loved Draco, she saw (or perhaps brought out) the best in him, and so she married him. I love that their relationship isn't some sort of arranged marriage or strategic match based on blood status. That they do genuinely love each other and are willing to be together even though it's not the easy choice. Even though his parents disapprove, even though she will be judged and scrutinized in a way she has done nothing to deserve, even though there is no promise of a happy ending where they grow old together.
It's weird, because Astoria is only mentioned once in the books and gets absolutely zero characterization. She comes almost entirely from the play, most of which I reject; the trolley witch is an ordinary person, and Cedric Diggory would never join the Death Eaters 🤣. And I don't really love how she was dealt with in the play, never appearing onstage, killed off without ever being properly introduced. But from the little fragments of her story that we get and the implications of what we're told, I find her to be a really interesting character.

DAVID HARPER, ERNEST HARPER, QUEENIE HARPER & ALANA WEST-HARPER - FOR @flocy-sims LEGACY
i am sending you the twins david harper & ernest harper, queenie harper and alana west-harper for your legacy, let's hope they behave! more about them below.
david is a rebel. He does not have a determined direction; he goes where the wind takes him. It’s easy to find him crashing at his sister or twin brother’s house after some crazy night in san myshuno. He will settle eventually, just not sure when. He is not drawn to romantic relationships, it actually requires a lot of friendship and intimacy (and not strictly in the physical sense) for him to fall for someone. David does not believe in love at first sight, for him love has to be nurtured and cared for in the long run. He’s not a one-night stand kind of guy. Right now he still lives at his parents’ house in Britechester and after much parental pressure he finally got a part-time job as barista. You can say he is not the ambitious type. He loves a good laugh and a bit of mischief to color our lives. He is a geek for video games and he - might - indulge in some hacking as well. Which reminds me of a story he usually boasts about of when he got inside the landgraab’s system… oh! wait! that’s a secret!
Tumblr media
ernest is an acclaimed musician. He has an identical twin named David. He is a virtuoso pianist and violinist and plays in the worldwide known Simsonian Orchestra. Ernest loves all classic and baroque music and it’s hard to find anything he loves just as much. For an outsider, Ernest has an enviable life, he has achieved professional realization, he travels all around the simlish world with the orchestra, he does what he loves but Ernest Harper is a sad, unhappy soul. He had his heart broken and he has never been able to fall in love again. He has been a loner. Ernest has a timid, gloomy character. But Ernest’s gloomy soul hides the most tender, sensitive and loving character, if only one knows how to break his walls…
Tumblr media
queenie was born amongst the rich and famous society of del sol with both of her parents being renowned actors. she was always very pampered as a kid and everyone thought she’d follow her parents’ example and become an actor. but no. her tastes and talents led her to another branch of the movie industry: designs and wardrobes.  queenie has an exquisite obsession with anything fashion related and she is brilliant at what she does.  sweet queenie might be vain and perhaps too self-conscious of her public image; but she’s a kind soul with the patience of a saint. mark my words, this girl knows how to keep a secret, she’s the best confidant you’ll ever find, if only you show she can trust you.
Tumblr media
alana west-harper is the mischievous kind. she got that from her dad, i bet! alana is an expert in all fandoms you can think of. even those underground, alternative, sketchy fandoms no one knows about? well, she knows! alana is the ultimate geek. alana went to foxbury university to study villainy and oh my watcher! she graduated with honors. i expect great things from this girl... like worldwide robery kind of greatness, you know? but don't get me wrong, she is not evil, okay? she just likes to do things her way. and sometimes 'her way' does not exactly mean lawful... but hey! she gets things done in the end of the day!

I think we're forgetting a few things but WTH, improvement
and you can't tell me that these improvements didn't involve going back to the drawing board and using the critics that crazed fans want to attack as source and inspiration. The shorts, sluggish releases dispite this season supposedly being near complete years ago and now the leaks being branded fake, no, I call BS.
Tumblr media
We finally got Millie and Blitzø's teamwork, friendships and first meeting rolled into one episode and all these things were good.
The flashback shows Millie looking like someone else all together, once was a rough looking, thought talking bar scraper who beleived that someone like her were only fit for bruiser lacky jobs. Charmed by Blitzø who was widely oppose to her beliefs but reached out to her to join his new business, so with a job, which makes her joining IMP, make sense.
Tumblr media
What was a really good fit was Millie believing that IMP moving up in the world was too good to be true and too good for her, who knew the options of farm girl or bruiser. It fits her families attitude of her work not being a real job.
Tumblr media
As said, Millie looks like someone else, I don't know how anyone would have identified her without being told who she was. The lack of height consistency was a major part of this, did people (who were maybe overworked and even outsourced) not think, notice or care? These are leading characters and their backstory together a long time coming, was there little communication for such a crucial scene? Were some of the cells recycled for this animation from another character or two?
Unless it's somehow intentional that Millie was physically taller and meanmugged when she was a tough and independent bandit, who then shrunk and got more girly looking as she got sweeter and friendlier with a relationship that's just one year into marriage?
Or was it the case that having work provided by from this great true friend who we're only seeing as her bestie now was what caused her to glow up? We fight see her interact with Moxxie at all even though he discovered her and it's not obvious that they have ever spoke when they move to their office and where were they before when on their way up?
If scenario 1 was the case, it's not like this show doesn't have a pattern of turning someone with charisma and influence into vulnerable and childlike damsel dependent on their lover
Exhibit 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exhibit 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If scenario 2 is the case, then this is another example of not being able to pull off the many ideas that are presented, because these two being best friends and Blitzø being the one to build Millie up just happened.
Tumblr media
Millie x Moxxie have near no connection at this point. They have had about two episodes were they set off on missions together and aside from Unhappy Campers, the long anticipated 'Millie' episode, I don't remember anything of them working together in the episode Stolas got abducted and later hospitalized, same episode Striker returned, same episode Blitzø took Loona to a long overdue medical appointment.
Even meeting the in laws managed to do nothing for their paring, nothing at all for Millie and Moxxie needed to be incapacitated for Millie to flex.
Tumblr media
Moxxie holds up against other characters, we see that he wants the business to work, he has a buddy cop dynamic with his opposite Blitzø and Blitzø sexual harrassment directed towards him serve as a further reminder of their differences, one of them is happily married the other has flings and difficulty sticking around, we see how Loona is mostly a liability who gets away with anything from their interactions, even his brief meeting with Blitzø was enough during is backstory, their desperation and willingness to make their own path made sense, yet content with his own wife revolves around their sex life, what do we know about them?
Tumblr media
Millie is gradually getting her time but it's in a clumsy manner in which Moxxie is absolutely absent, which I'm guessing is in direct response to the very fair criticism of Millie moments becoming Moxxie moment and her simply acting as his cheerleader/fangirl in response to drama which she should be more involved in, or at his grand gestures.
Millie and Loona's exchanges are no different to the last time they really interacted back in the first half of season one, the whole episode set up is nearly the same, Millie needs to fix things, only Millie and Loona are of any use, Loona makes remarks about Millie's age before reluctantly agreeing to fill her role and like an even earlier episode, Moxxie needs to be out of his mind for Millie to shine.
Tumblr media
Bonus Blitzø out if it too because that's what worked before.
Tumblr media
Remember how Millie opened up about enjoying being the centre of attention and that Moxxie was putting her low with his time wasting ideas and sulky attitude?
Tumblr media
He had to realise he wasn't being supportive and let Millie have her time to shine, she got to flex which made little difference to the plot and Moxxie was elsewhere at the time.
In anotheter instances Moxxie has to quietly slip through his own home. Millie has her sister over, her sister who like the rest of the family was rude to Moxxie the last time we saw them together and clearly that was nothing new.
Tumblr media
Yes, I know Sallie was chilling with Millie when Moxxie slipped by, yet the episode starts with Sallie arriving to visit Millie, the two of them spending the day at bars and shops, a totally forced and out of place sob story that would change a big fat nothing before the two of them fell chilled on Millie and Moxxie's sofa, clearly Moxxie would kill their vibe just by being seen, clearly there was no intention of really showing Millie stand up for her new life and marriage or any intention of showing any family member accept these things.
Tumblr media
Millie having autonomy when Moxxie is totally sidelined hardly works for Millie since they are the leading couple and Moxxie has a more extra personality and connections, good or bad with others. As much as this episode worked, gave her more personality and established the relationship she has with her boss, yet again a set up of desperation and separation was needed
along with responding to criticism
It's sad that shorts and the pilot that may have been branded irrelevant are manditory viewing in order to give the main show it's needed extra substance, it seems Millie x Moxxie need a short or two about their get together, romance and what they actually like about each.
Blitzø content was good.
It was a pity to see a brief illusion of his mother were he wouldfeel relieved to that his many traumas were a dream, only for this scene to be done, dusted and mean nothing
Tumblr media
then for the biggest reaction and majority of bad memories to be of his Stolas drama
Tumblr media
but this was truly a Millie episode and no complaints on that part.
Since now the leaks are being conveniently called fake, it may be a good idea to scrap what leaks remain and turn the recent Stolas content into the straw that broke the camels back for someone who has been through a lot? Can't say I have much faith in this though, since the sped through apologies to those who don't make any difference yet Blitzø knew he hurt, the watering down of Stolas and Fizz, dismissal of Barbie and Verosika's shift from fun scorned woman who rightfully looked down on Blitzø to spiteful tragic heartbroken ex who stalks his life. As usual, too much offered, too little focus. I can't see the direction steering in any other direction that hooking up Blitzø x Stolas, even though both characters have things to offer independent of one another
Tumblr media
and they're a horrid ship.
So returning to the episodes story, I don't even know how to review it other than barely existent.
The villain seemed a massive waste, not only was he voiced by someone very popular but he seems yet another interesting idea for a character, but where was his point other than tormenting Blitzø who stepped into his territory? Is this it for this villain? Why wasn't another big hotel a bigger deal?Leading on to the sinner we met at the start having her subplot was quickly forgotten.
Tumblr media
What do we have to talk about when it comes to these introduced individuals? They told us why they were here but nobody cared. Other than the lore of this type of demon and them being voiced by a godfather of strange and queer adult media and Charlie?
Tumblr media
Too many things are taken on when the show has a tendency to have too few things matter.

The Demon Incident (Bakugou/Midoriya x Male Reader)
[One Shot] Ashido suggests a harmless scare-off competition for Halloween. Leave it to your boyfriends to truly take it to the “Plus Ultra” level.
AO3 Wattpad or below!
This story will follow naming conventions as used in the official English Dub, and characters will follow Japanese practice for addressing one another. For example, in the case of Izuku Midoriya, he will typically be referred to by his surname by others and by the narrator (with the exception of his nickname of course). His first name will be used only between those exceptionally close to him (e.g. in dialogue, you would refer to him as “Izuku”).
This fic includes strong language and haunted house levels of implied violence (honestly worse things happen in canon). Last but not least, not canon compliant, Mineta’s gone, Shinsou’s in 3-A. Think that covers everything. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!
Looking back, Class 3-A would agree the event that would come to be known as “the Demon Incident” was all Ashido’s fault. To be fair, she didn’t mean to, but it all started with one innocent idea that fateful afternoon…
“…and that led to the adoption of the first vigilante laws in Japan,” Aizawa-sensei said, snapping his book shut. “Don’t forget your reports on vigilantism and its effects on modern society are due next Monday. I feel it goes without saying, but I expect you all to be on your best behavior this weekend. Halloween is a fun holiday, but knowing teenagers and you hellspawn…” He heaved a sigh as he shrugged into his favorite sleeping bag. “Due to heightened security, you will only be allowed off campus for special circumstances. If I hear even a peep of you at the parties downtown, you’ll be expelled faster than you can say ‘Plus Ultra’. Enjoy your lunch.”
You groaned, knowing you still had a good two pages left to do on your report on Knuckleduster before you could enjoy the holiday. Even worse, you knew your boyfriends were not about to let you live that down. For all the upsides of polyamory, getting double lectures on procrastination was not one of them.
Speaking of boyfriends, the one who sat directly in front of you started putting his things away as the usual after-class chatter started up. Midoriya had barely zipped up his backpack when a pair of hands slammed down on his desk.
“Eep!”
“Oh, sorry Deku!” Uraraka giggled. “I didn’t mean to scare you, I just wanted to ask if you had any plans for Halloween?”
“O-oh, it’s okay Uraraka!” He replied. “You just caught me off-guard. And no, I didn’t really have any plans.”
“Kinda sucks that Aizawa said we couldn’t go out, huh? I really wanted to check out the parties in Shibuya for once.”
“The Shibuya parties are rife with behavior not becoming of future heroes!” Iida cut in. “Uraraka, I’m appalled you’d think such behavior is okay!”
“This coming from Mr. Hosu over here?” Todoroki muttered.
Iida’s jaw locked shut as he turned about as red as Kirishima’s hair. “I thought we promised not to talk about that!”
Todoroki shrugged, putting away his notebooks, one for class and one that you assumed was full of his wild theories. The others laughed, minus Shinsou, who remained asleep at his desk. You joined in, especially since you could also overhear Kaminari and Sero lamenting that they couldn’t go trick-or-treating. Yaoyorozu tapped you on the shoulder holding out her phone with costume ideas. “What do you think [L/n]? Should I go with the classic look or make it a bit more modern?”
“Honestly you could pull off either one, but I think that one’s better for your Medusa costume.”
“Great, thank you! You’re still coming to game night on Sunday, right?”
“Of course! So long as I get my report done… and we don’t do Monopoly again.” You couldn’t complain about your seating placement – and neither could Yaoyorozu since you replaced a particularly troubling student when you joined Class A in Year 2.
Then, as the room lulled in conversation, it happened. “Hey guys, I’ve got an idea!” Ashido announced, standing up on her desk chair. “We’re all stuck here for Halloween, so we should do something together, right? We’re only young once after all!”
“Oh, are you thinking of a party?” Yaoyorozu asked. “I’d be happy to have my family’s chef cater, and I could provide the decorations.”
“No, a costume contest!” Hagakure shouted. “We should totally see who has the best costume!”
“I’ve got a lot of recipes for homemade candy I’ve been wanting to try,” Sato offered.
Ashido held up her hand, and the class quieted down again. “All excellent ideas, but we’re high schoolers! We should do something bigger, something amazing, something that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Maybe it’ll even go down in UA history! I propose…” She paused, watching as you all leaned in in anticipation. “A scare-off.”
“A scare-off?” The class echoed.
“Exactly. We each try to see who can scare the most people in class. People can team up to form alliances, of course, but no more than four people in a team. Losers have to do the winners’ dorm chores for a month.”
“Oh, I’m in!” Kirishima shouted. “A test of bravery, it’s so manly!”
“More like a test of who can stare into the darkness without letting the darkness stare into them,” Tokoyami said, with the softest of smiles.
“Fumi means he’s excited!” Dark Shadow squawked.
“Hold on, hold on!” Iida called out over the excitement, arm chops fully deployed. “We need to set ground rules. And get off of your chair, it’s dangerous!”
“Of course, class prez,” Ashido winked. Iida nearly had an aneurysm as she moved from standing on her chair to standing on her desk. “We aren’t leaving campus, Aizawa made that clear. Since there’s only a day and a half to get ready, we can’t really order anything either, so you can only use what’s on campus. Also, it wouldn’t be fair to the other classes if they get involved without wanting to, so the scaring can only happen in our dorm. Anything outside or in our own rooms is a safe zone. The roof, common areas, and hallways are all free game. We’ll start at 10 sharp on Halloween night. Anyone who runs out to the safe zones or surrenders is out.”
“Oh,” Iida paused. “Very well thought out, thank you.”
Ashido mock-bowed, as you and half the class gave her applause. She snapped her fingers. “Oh, I almost forgot. No one is required to participate if you’re not into it. Anyone who says they’re not participating will be considered safe and won’t have to do the punishment for the losers.” Her eyes drifted to Midoriya.
“Why are you looking at me?”
“Sorry Mido,” she said, “but, I know you don’t like scary movies… you always leave when we have a scary movie marathon. I figured you wouldn’t like something like this.”
“Oh… well… I… I want to participate. I think it’ll be fun.”
Bakugou, who had been uncharacteristically silent, slowly turned towards Midoriya with a raised eyebrow. You bit your tongue as well, giving a look to your boyfriend. You had to fight a smile, practically seeing the gears in his head turning. His brilliant analytical mind was already working overtime. “Ka-Kacchan, don’t look at me like that! It’ll be f-fun!” He said, but his quavering voice wasn’t convincing.
Or at least it wasn’t convincing in the way his classmates thought.
==============================
Bakugou was walking with you back to the dorms when Kirishima ambushed the two of you outside the bathrooms. “Yo, Katsuki, [Y/n]! Do you guys wanna team up for the scare-off?”
“Fuck off Shitty Hair, I’m not teaming up with you.”
You, of course, were a bit gentler. “Sorry Kiri, I’m still deciding if I want to participate. I don’t even have a costume yet.”
“Oh man, is Baku-bro actually scared?” Sero laughed.
Kaminari snickered. “Who know Blasty McSplodey was a scaredy cat?”
“Guys, chill,” you said with more than a little heat. Before you could continue, you felt Bakugou grab your shoulder. Your eyes met for a brief moment, with him sending you a silent thanks.
Bakugou took a deep breath; you knew he was running through his therapy checklist. He had come quite a long way in the past two years. He counted down silently, then replied. “One, not scared. You chucklefucks were the ones who needed to sleep with the light on after that last slasher movie. Two, I’m gonna be off campus.”
“Wait,” Kirishima said. “You’re not gonna sneak off campus, are you?”
“Fuck no! I actually have an excuse. The old hag and old man need me at home for some stupid Halloween thing for their work. One of their shitty models got sick.”
“It’s actually a pretty cool line, the clothes are modern takes on classic horror movies. There’s this sleek Dracula one I’d love to get if I had the money,” you added. “And Bakugou, you know your parents just want you to be more involved. It’s their way of showing love.”
“No one asked you,” he muttered. “Doesn’t mean I gotta like it.”
“Ah damn, that sucks…” Sero muttered. “Not the love part, that’s cool you get to model. Just… you would’ve been perfect for our team.”
“Yeah, nothing’s scarier than your explosions,” Kaminari said, hanging off Sero’s shoulders.
“And don’t you fucking forget it!” Bakugou snarked, though there was no heat behind it. As your friends headed off to the cafeteria, you and Bakugou quietly turned back to the dorms.
You took the elevator up, walked down the hallway, climbed the stairwell to the next floor, walked back down the next hallway, and took the elevator back down a floor. The two of you were now sure no one was following you. Bakugou took one last look to make sure the hall was deserted before approaching the door and giving the secret knock.
Almost immediately, a soft voice came from the other side. “Original run. Issue 506-A.”
It was an obscure issue in the worst arc of the comic run, but Bakugou remembered it without hesitation. “All Might fights the robots of the evil Doctor Z.”
“Issue A not Issue B.”
“Listen fucker, you know it’s us!”
“You were the one who came up with the password system, not me.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes. You sighed and answered instead. “Misprint issue with messed up coloring. Makes All Might look like he’s running around without pants.”
The door swung open. “Welcome, Agent Explosion Murder and Agent Speedo.”
“Agent Green Might,” Bakugou replied with a smirk, and walked into Midoriya’s room. The door clicked shut and was locked.
“Guys, can we please change my codename?”
Midoriya snorted. “No way, we’re totally not letting you live down the locker room incident of Year 2.”
“How was I supposed to know it was a banana peel?!”
Bakugou fell onto the bed laughing. “Fuckin’ classic!” Therapy wasn’t the only thing Bakugou had made a lot of progress on. Patching up his friendship with Midoriya was another, and living together in the dorms let the two do a lot of the things they always wanted to as kids. The secret passcodes with issues of the All Might comic and the codenames had been in place since they were four. Even in the rough times in middle school, the codes were used during their few truces. By the time the three of you started dating, they quickly roped you into all of their schemes.
The biggest scheme of all was keeping up the façade they hated each other – which was actually Midoriya’s doing. Despite appearances, he was far more scheming than anyone expected. He was not even close to the perfect little boy scout hero-wannabe that he portrayed. You used to be surprised by his mischievous side, but now you knew he was the evil mastermind of your throuple. Now, the three of you continued your relationship in secret, not because of how your classmates would react, but because messing with them was more fun.
==============================
“Guys,” he had said at the time, “it’s perfect for tricking villains into thinking we’re not as close as we really are. They’ll underestimate us!”
“Don’t give me that bullshit ‘Zuku, you just want to fuck with our class.”
You had just laughed back then. “Bet you 10,000 yen they don’t figure it out before graduation.”
“Oh, you’re on.”
==============================
“Those idiots really think you’re scared of shitty slasher movies.”
Midoriya groaned. “Ugh, they’re so boring and predictable. You guys know I can’t sit through one without falling asleep.”
“Or talking our ear off about how stupid they are,” you giggled, pulling Midoriya into your lap. He automatically adjusted into prime cuddling position without even realizing it. “Your mind never takes a break, huh ‘Zuku?”
“Why would you split up when a murderer is around? This isn’t Scooby Doo!” Midoriya huffed, adorably you might add, as you wrapped your arms around him. “I would’ve caught any of those slashers in five minutes.”
“Says the guy who can single arm shoulder press Fatgum and Endea-whore at the same time.”
“Details…”
“Would be the perfect time to try out Operation Crystal Lake,” Bakugou said, flopping back on Midoriya’s bed.
“Could be, but I’ve upgraded it. You guys want in?”
“You think I’d be here if I didn’t, nerd? Made sure they think I’m gonna be off campus for Halloween. Nice improv by the way, [Y/n].”
“Come on, Kit-kat, you know I’ve always got your back. ‘Zuku, who’s gonna be our Jason? I’ve got the perfect quirk for it.”
Midoriya smirked. “I have a better role in mind. Kacchan, how do you feel about scaring the piss out of the Bakusquad?”
“Don’t call them the Bakusquad.”
Both you and Midoriya answered together. “You’re their leader, it’s the Bakusquad.”
Bakugou groaned. “Whatever. Guessing you’re planning on using the trick we tried to pull on the old hag?”
“Auntie knows our tricks so it didn’t work on her, but I bet it’ll have the others running to their rooms in no time. Well, at least Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima. Mina’s gonna be tough, she’s definitely got the strongest spine for horror out of the rest of the class. Jirou might be hard too…” You gently tapped Midoriya’s hand, your sign for when he started mumbling.
“Right, sorry,” he said as he straightened up. “I’m thinking of bringing in someone to help. I’ve talked to one, and…” His phone pinged. “She’s on board.”
“Full team of four,” you said. “So, what plan are you thinking of now?”
Izuku walked over to his favorite All Might poster. He posed in his classic Golden Age costume, pointing at the viewer. It was the crown jewel of his collection so it was kept in a thick frame.
Well, that was what he told everyone else in class.
He flicked the hidden switch and the poster swung up, revealing the corkboard underneath with a spaghetti of red string tying pictures of your classmates together. “Kacchan, [Y/n], let me introduce you to Operation Ouiji Board.”
==============================
It was finally the last class of the day, and thankfully it was a lighter one: History with Midnight. The class was getting antsy, and some were already planning their tricks for the scare-off. As Midnight allowed everyone to swap desks for a group project, it only made the planning easier. Ojiro turned to Kouda and Shouji. “Do you think we should go easy on Midoriya?” he signed, so as not to alert Midnight and to make Kouda feel more comfortable. You had the perfect view and quietly tapped a transcription in morse code with your pen for your boyfriends to hear. Midoriya’s insistence that the three of you become experts in non-verbal communication really paid off.
“Maybe. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet.” Shouji signed back. “How about you Kouda?”
Kouda shrugged. “I don’t know if I even want to be part of it yet. I thought it might be fun to include my animal friends, but I don’t want them to get hurt if someone gets scared.”
“Good point,” Shouji signed.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the classroom, Uraraka floated a note to Asui. Bakugou got just enough of a peek and tapped back to you.
Let’s team up! I’m sure we could do something really fun with our quirks. Maybe I could float some of your slime?
Asui passed the note back with her tongue.
Okay, but slime isn’t scary by itself – kero.
No one was sure why Asui felt the need to write out the croak, but it was cute all the same.
Up at the front of the classroom, Kaminari whispered to Hagakure, just loud enough for all three of you to hear. “C’mon, you should totally join our team. You’d be perfect to play a ghost!”
“I mean, I know, but isn’t that what everyone is expecting me to play? Scary happens when you least expect it.”
“Okay!” Midnight said, snapping her whip. The class jolted upright. “It’s clear that you’re all excited for Halloween and not going to focus on your work. Obviously, I can’t blame you. Halloween is the best holiday of the year of course. The drama, the costumes, the tricks and… the treats.”
She slid up to sit on her desk, legs crossed. “So, does anyone want to tell me what exactly you all are planning? Or do I need to get rough… and by rough, I mean tell Aizawa.”
“No worries, we’re just going to have a scare-off in our dorms on Halloween,” Ashido explained.
“A scare-off! Oh, that sounds like so much fun! It reminds me of my days in UA when Mic and I tried to scare our friends at Halloween,” She paused, and her face fell a bit. “Just… promise not to do anything too dangerous.”
“Of course, not sensei, I’ll personally make sure of it,” Iida said.
Midnight appeared oddly stern. “Thank you, but I am serious. There are students who always try talk to ghosts or summon demons.”
Bakugou snorted. “As if that shit exists.”
Midnight pursed her lips. “That’s what I used to say. Then I ended up working a case investigating some students who had seemed to go missing. Turns out they were doing what they thought was ‘harmless’ witchcraft. They were never seen again… in one piece that is. It took months to find all the body parts.”
A sobering chill fell over the class. When the bell pierced the silence, everyone jumped. “But that was then, and I’m sure you all would be smart enough not to do anything like that! Be safe, have fun!”
The class slowly filed out, except for you and Midoriya. You walked quietly together out of the main classroom building and across campus to the dorms.
“So, what do you think of the plan?” Midoriya asked.
“Perfection as always, Small Might.”
“Aww, you flatter me.”
“So, I’ve got the little toy from Mei we’ll be using, but I’m kinda surprised you didn’t ask her to be our fourth.”
Midoriya laughed. “She’d be a great fit for the team, but since we’re going for subtle…” The campus suddenly shook. Both of you turned towards to the massive warehouse that housed the Support Class shops. As expected, a plume of smoke rose into the air, followed by the exasperated groans of Power Loader.
“Point taken,” you muttered. “Well then, I’ll get my stuff ready for the pre-show. Should I get the fake blood packs?”
“I think you’ll be able to do fine without it. Blood might actually traumatize them.”
==============================
Bakugou stared at the storm brewing outside. He fought to keep a smirk off his face. This couldn’t have worked out better.
“Are you sure you can’t stay Baku-bro?” Sero asked.
Bakugou leveled a look at Sero. “You don’t know the old hag. There’s no telling her no.”
Just then, you and Midoriya ran up, on cue. “Kacchan, are you sure though? I’m sure Auntie wouldn’t want you going out in this rain! It’s dangerous and people drive so recklessly…”
“Hah?! You sayin’ I’m gonna die or somethin’ shitty Deku?”
“N-no! Of course not, I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
You gave your best puppy-dog eyes. “At least text us to let us know you got there, okay?”
Bakugou raised an eyebrow and a smirk in your direction. “Oh? You goin’ soft on me, [L/n]? Keep that up and people might start talkin’…”
“I’m just saying! It’s dangerous on nights like this – not to mention Midnight’s story…”
“Aww, see Baku-bro, can’t you be nice? We all just care about you!” Sero laughed.
“Fuck off. I’ll see you fuckers later. If something happens, I’m coming back to haunt your asses.” With that, he popped his umbrella and headed out. He could hear Midoriya spouting off his usual muttering and your attempts to calm him, but Bakugou smirked, hearing how it was a clear setup. As soon as he was out of view of the dorms, he circled back and scrambled up the rope ladder you had set up outside your dorm window. Now all he had to do was wait for showtime…
==============================
“Oh, hey [L/n].”
“Eep! Shouji, don’t do that!” You said. “Nearly jumped out of my skin there.”
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you. Guess Midnight’s story has everyone on edge.”
You laughed. “Yeah, guess so. Don’t know how long I’ll last tonight. You ready?”
“Yeah, teamed up with Ojiro and Hagakure. We’ll try to go easy on you.”
A flicker of guilt passed through you. “Don’t. It’s like they always say, we gotta go Plus Ultra!”
Shouji seemed impressed. “Challenge accepted then. By the way, what’s with the lunchbox?”
“Oh this?” you said, holding up the small tin box in your hand. It looked like a collector’s item, stamped with some pre-quirk era comic book hero’s likeness. “Surprise for Snipe-sensei’s birthday. He doesn’t look like it, but he has his own collection of retro merch that’d make even Midoriya jealous.”
“Huh, had no idea. I’ll catch you later.”
“Yeah, see ya!” As Shouji left, you let out a silent sigh. The bit about Snipe you completely pulled out of your ass. Instead, you crept through a side door and set the lunchbox against the wall, the strong magnets holding it steady. With careful hands, you opened it and set the timer, connecting wires to the dorm’s fuse box…
==============================
At the slightly-less-exciting stroke of 10 pm, the students gathered in the common room. Almost instantly, Hagakure and Kouda screamed. Sero descended from the ceiling and his web of tape in a fairly good spider costume. “Aww man, I was hoping I’d get more of you with that,” He groaned. “At least I still have the rest of the night.”
“Good luck man,” Kaminari laughed, dressed in a Pikachu kigirumi. “You’re not gonna get me with that.”
“Kaminari,” a deep voice breathed in his ear. “You failed your test.”
“AAHHH I’M SORRY SENSEI!” He then stopped and realized that “sensei” had violet eyes.
“Heh,” Shinsou grinned, lowering his capture weapon. “Funny how much a voice changer and some black hair dye can do.” Todoroki, dressed as a vampire, narrowed his eyes, pulling out his conspiracy notebook to make a couple notes.
“Guys,” Midoriya said, “Have any of you heard from Kacchan? He always texts when he gets to Auntie’s place. He should have been there hours ago, but he’s not answering my texts.”
“I’m sure he’s just busy,” Uraraka said, patting his shoulder. She was dressed in a highly detailed Apollo-era astronaut spacesuit, accurate down to the mission patches. “I bet his mom just put him to work right away and he forgot.”
“I guess… but it’s not like him!” Midoriya’s eyes watered, threatening to ruin his professional-grade All Might costume and makeup.
Aoyama popped up next to him. “It will be fine, mon ami. Why don’t you have a snack!” He whipped out a silver tray and lifted the lid, revealing a platter of Kraft Singles. “OooOOOoooo! Isn’t it terrifying?!”
Midoriya looked to Uraraka, who merely shrugged. “Aoyama, what’s scary about processed cheese?”
“It’s not real cheese! Is it plastic? Is it even truly edible? OoooOOOOooooOOOO!” He closed the tray and slunk off to attempt to scare another.
Uraraka leaned over to Midoriya. “We can never introduce him to actual American food, can we?” Midoriya shook his head.
“Sorry I’m late!” You said, running up to them.
Uraraka gasped. “So cool! I could’ve sworn you were gonna use your quirk.”
“Too tiring to keep that up,” you said. Your shapeshifting quirk was flawless but had the significant drawback of burning you out after prolonged use – certainly made you jealous of people like Toga, even if she had to drink blood for hers. “You don’t think the witch costume is too cliché?” You had the full robes, complete with eerie skull buttons and a pointed witch’s hat. You even had a thick grimoire and Ouiji board cradled in your arms.
“No, it’s great! It’s so detailed too, you look like you can really cast magic spells! Did Hagakure help you with the makeup?”
“Funny story, actually…” Before the two of you could launch into specifics, the lights dimmed.
“Now that we’re all here, let’s get started!” Ashido said, getting a cheer from the class. “Who wants to go first?”
“If it’s all the same, I’d like to go first,” you volunteered “It took some time to set everything up.”
“Sounds good!” Ashido said. “What’cha got for us?”
“Demonic summoning!”
The class was caught a bit off-guard. “Okay, guess we’re going zero to a hundred off the bat,” Jirou muttered. While the rest of the class murmured, Dark Shadow clapped excitedly.
Everyone gathered in the darkest corner of the common room as you opened your spellbook and set out the Ouiji board. “Are you sure this is safe?” Midoriya asked, eyeing the chalk lines and runes.
“It will be, as long as none of you cross the salt line. It’s very important you don’t,” you said. “If the salt line is broken, the demon could escape and… well I’d rather not say.”
“It’d kill you all!” Dark Shadow shrieked.
“Shhh!” Tokoyami said, eager to watch the show.
The class shuddered. You sat in the middle of the carefully warded circle and began chanting in Latin. At first nothing happened. Ashido was just about to say something, when the lights flickered. Your chanting grew louder as your voice grew deeper, and your eyes seemed to roll back in your head.
“O-o-okay [L/n], I think you can stop,” Ojiro said, more worried about your wellbeing than anything.
Suddenly, the lights cut out completely. The red emergency lights kicked on, casting an eerie glow over the room. A dark amorphous figure materialized in the summoning circle. Gasps filled the room. You slumped forward as the demon began to take shape.
“[Y/n]!” Midoriya shouted, running forward, just missing the grabbing hands of his friends, trying to keep him back. He tripped, and the salt line broke…
The shadow smashed into his chest. As soon as it started, the ritual seemed to be done and the lights snapped on. Everyone rushed to Midoriya and you. “[L/n]’s breathing but unconscious,” Shouji called out.
“Deku? Deku, wake up,” Uraraka said, kneeling at his side. Suddenly his eyes flung open, and he jolted awake. “Deku?”
He floated to his feet, and the class gasped. His eyes were bloody red instead of cool forest green. His bones popped as his head cocked to one side. “What’s wrong, friiiiends?” His voice eerily creaked. “Don’t you want to play with your old pal Deeekuuuu?”
Everyone took a step back. “Deku… what are you…?” Uraraka said. A frightening grin overtook his face. He opened his mouth and a terrifying black tentacle lashed out before snapping back. With a single sweep, he knocked your limp body sideways and into the wall. “[L/n]!”
“Mon dieu!” Aoyama squeaked.
Midoriya blocked anyone from getting close to you as his demented voice cackled. “Let’s play hide and seek. I’ll be it.”
The lights snapped off again.
“Run.”
Screams filled the room, and the class scattered. Kouda and Aoyama immediately ran into their rooms. No amount of bragging rights and chore freedom was worth dealing with demons.
Two down, nineteen remain.
==============================
Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, and Asui were huddled together on the next floor. “We’ve got to do something,” Iida hissed.
“How do you deal with a possessed best friend?” Uraraka sobbed. “And what about [L/n]?!”
“We’ve got to make sure [L/n] is okay, and maybe he’ll put things right,” Asui said. “We have to get back down to the common room.”
“But we’ll need a distraction,” Iida said quietly. “I vol-”
“Me,” Todoroki said. The others turned. “It makes the most sense. Iida can get in and out fast and I can maybe freeze… that thing.”
“That thing is our friend!”
“Not anymore,” Todoroki said. “We have to save him. It’s a monster wearing Midoriya’s skin.”
Asui reluctantly nodded. “I’ll go and help Iida.”
“What a good plan.” The four of them jumped, Midoriya’s eerie voice echoed through the hallway. “Too bad none of you will live to make it downstairs.”
“Where is he?” Uraraka squeaked looking around. Todoroki flared his flames to light the room, but nothing was there.
“Why O-chaaaaa-ko, I’m your friend, I’m always by your side.” Suddenly they looked up. The Green Demon skittered across the ceiling, then bent backwards to look at them with a demented smile. They didn’t have a chance before the tentacles lashed out.
“Got youuuuu.”
==============================
A few floors up, Sato, Hagakure, Ojiro, Shouji, and Shinsou huddled together. “What do we do, what do we do, what do we do?!” Hagakure squealed.
“Deep breaths, Tooru,” Ojiro soothed, rubbing her back. “We’re going to be okay.”
“We do need a plan,” Sato muttered. “We’ve all got good quirks to keep us safe, we just need supplies. Let’s head to my room, I’ve got sugar for myself, but also a lot of kitchen knives just in case.”
“What if this is all just part of the scare off?” Shouji asked. “Aren’t we overreacting?”
“You saw Deku!” Hagakure nearly shrieked. “He’s not like that. That’s not our ray of sunshine!”
“Shinsou, you’ve been quiet,” Sato said. “What do you think? You’re the closest with Midoriya.”
Shinsou was pale, his face just illuminated by the light of his phone. “Tenya, Tsu, Shouto, and Ochako are gone.”
“What do you mean, gone?” Ojiro asked.
“Just… gone,” Shinsou muttered. “We all agreed to share our phone locations with each other just in case someone got kidnapped. All four of their phones are just… gone.”
Suddenly, they could hear heavy footsteps approaching them. Shinsou whipped the phone flashlight down the hall. “Guys?” A familiar voice called. “Is that you?”
“Uraraka?”
She ran up panting. “Thank goodness you’re alright! I just barely escaped Deku. I hope the others got away.”
Shinsou narrowed his eyes. “Ochako, what about your phone?”
“We kept our phones out for light and Deku smashed them. We tried calling for help, but it looks like the storm knocked out a cell tower.” An eerie skittering echoed down the halls. “Oh no, that’s Deku,” Uraraka hissed. “Turn off your light!”
“But…”
“Do it, Shinsou!” Hagakure hissed.
Shinsou begrudgingly turned it off, plunging them all into darkness. “Here, let’s hold hands so we don’t get lost,” Uraraka said. Shinsou felt a soft hand take his – Uraraka, he assumed – while he could feel Shouji take his other hand. “This way guys. We can use my room.”
For a moment they stumbled in the dark, heading farther down the hallway. Ojiro then spoke up. “Uh, Uraraka, where are you going?”
“To my room.”
“But… isn’t your room the other way? We’re heading towards [L/n]’s room.”
Suddenly, lightning flashed, briefly lighting the hallway. Shinsou jumped back, letting go. “That’s not Uraraka!” Uraraka’s form was replaced by yours, now looking decayed and zombie-like. “Shit, it’s [L/n]!”
“Oh dear,” you hissed as the skittering grew louder and closer. Shinsou’s phone light turned on again. “It’s always so hard to keep a form for long.”
“[L/n], you’ve gotta fight him!” Hagakure shouted.
Shouji froze. “Look at his eyes.”
Where your normal eyes once were had been replaced by nothing but empty black pools. You raised your arms, hissing. “I must serve my master. All hail the Green Demon!”
“Run!”
“Going somewhere?” Demon Midoriya floated through the air, tentacles lashing.
==============================
The Bakusquad minus Ashido hid in the boys bathrooms, in a rear closet. The room was eerily quiet, the silence only broken by the occasional slosh of water in the bath as the pump circulated. “Guys I’m freaking out, what the hell is going on!” Kaminari trembled.
“I don’t know but we’ve got to get out of here!” Sero agreed.
“Guys, pull yourselves together, we’re heroes! We need to make sure our friends are safe first! Getting everyone out safe is the manly thing to do.”
“You’re right man,” Sero said, pulling out his phone and sending a message in the group chat.
“But what about [L/n]? And how do we save Deku? A-And Bakugou still isn’t answering!”
Kirishima’s shoulders sagged. “We’ll have to check on Baku-bro later. Hopefully he’s fine. First, we gotta get out and get the teachers.”
“Man, of course it was Deku who’d get possessed. If he was here, he’d know what to do. He’d like… analyze the demon!”
“Or [L/n] would be able to copy and fight him hand to hand!”
“Or Baku-bro could knock him out,” Kirishima agreed. “Wait, we could fix this! If we got to the breakers, we could get the lights back on. That’d at least help us see him coming!”
“Good idea Kiri!”
“Guys,” Sero whispered. “The group chat… it’s silent.” The other two peeked over his shoulder. The only thing there was a sound clip sent from Shinsou.
“Shit! It’s [L/n]-”
The clip cut off.
“[L/n]?” Kaminari muttered. “Does that mean… Demon-ku got to [L/n]?”
“Guys,” Sero said.
“Then, we really need to get out of here and get the teachers. Kaminari, you and Sero run ahead. I’ll try and check for anyone else here.”
“Guys.”
“Kiri, it’s too dangerous!”
“Guys!”
“What!”
“Did you just hear the door open?” They slowly turned towards the closet door. A slow bare footstep smacked against the tile. One by one, they could hear each of the showers turn on. Steam started to fill the room, seeping under the door. The bathwater splashed.
The three scarcely dared to breathe. They stared at the slit of light under the door, waiting for a sign of who it was. Their hearts stopped when they heard a familiar popping.
“Katsuki…?” Kirishima ventured.
“You came back?” Kaminari asked hopefully, reaching for the door handle.
Sero grabbed his friends. “Something’s not right.”
The lock on the door exploded. The door slowly swung open. “Baku-” Kaminari’s voice caught in his throat.
It was Bakugou, but his skin was pale and splotchy. His eyes were completely black, and his hair hung loosely on his head, soaked to the bone. His favorite clothes were torn and… was that a tire track across his chest? A raspy breath rattled from his mouth as his arm slowly rose to point at his friends. “Youuuu… fuckers…”
Their screams could be heard all over campus.
==============================
“I don’t like this.”
“Me neither, Tokoyami. We should have all stayed together.” Yaoyorozu produced a flashlight from her arm. “At least we have an advantage with you and Dark Shadow.”
“Mwhehehe,” Dark Shadow giggled. “Say the line, Fumi!”
“It’s hardly appropriate. For all we know our friends are in danger from a demon… if they’re still alive that is.”
“I’m sure they’re alright,” Yaoyorozu sighed. She cast the light over the doorway to the maintenance room. “Hmm, didn’t Shouji say he saw [L/n] messing around over here earlier?”
“Do you think he planned this?” Tokoyami looked deep in thought. “Perhaps this is an elaborate act?”
“But [L/n] borrowed all of your demon summoning books!” Dark Shadow squawked.
“Why do you have demon summoning books?”
“You never know what might be handy someday.”
“I suppose I should expand my reading then,” Yaoyorozu muttered, running the light over the door again, stopping short of opening it. “The floor. It’s all wet.”
“Soaked!” Dark Shadow added. Suddenly the hallway was filled with screams.
“What was that?!”
Tokoyami spread his cloak, letting Dark Shadow spread across the floor and walls. “By the sound of it, our friends.”
Dark Shadow didn’t get far. “Fumi, I found something!”
You moaned as Dark Shadow coiled around you. “All hail the Green Demon!”
Yaoyorozu gasped. “Oh no, it’s [L/n]!”
“The demon has clearly claimed his mind. We’ll need to perform an exorcism. We should take him to my room.”
“Fumi, he’s holding something!” Dark Shadow took the bundle from your hand and brought it over to Tokoyami.
Yaoyorozu cast the light over the strange object. “Looks like a bundle of paper,” Tokoyami muttered. “Are you trying to communicate, [L/n]? You can break free of the demon!”
Yaoyorozu, however, frowned as she touched the paper. “This is odd, it’s not normal.” Then she realized a moment too late. “Tokoyami, throw it away, it’s flash paper!”
“Too late… fuckers…” The enthralled Bakugou growled. With the smallest of sparks, the room burst with light rendering Dark Shadow useless.
Before Yaoyorozu could run, you crept up behind her. “You must serve the Green Demon!”
As the two screamed, taken beyond the veil, you and Bakugou droned on with your worship, only stopping to mutter. “What a mad banquet of darkness…”
==============================
Ashido and Jirou crept through the common room. “I have a really bad feeling we’re the only ones left,” Jirou said. “You heard those screams too, right?”
“C’mon, all we have to do is undo whatever [L/n] was doing right? It’s Ouiji board rules, right? We just have to say goodbye!” Ashido said.
“This is a demon summoning, Mina, I don’t think it’s that easy.” Jirou froze. “Someone’s coming.”
Suddenly, an eerie red light illuminated you above the summoning circle. “You shall not stop the dark revelry. You will make the perfect sacrifice for our lord! All hail the Green Demon!” You shouted, launching into a new wave of chanting.
“Screw this, we gotta get out of here!” Jirou shouted, but as she reached to grab Ashido’s arm, a clammy cold hand grabbed her.
“Earphoooones…” The voice growled behind her.
“Ahh! Bakugou?!”
Ashido stepped back, readying her acid. “I’m sorry guys, I don’t want to hurt you, but I’m not letting you take her!” She was about to throw it when she could hear skittering above her. She spun around just in time to be snatched by the demonic tentacles.
“Such a good servants you are,” Midoriya’s demented voice hissed. His eyes seemed to bore into Ashido. “You’ve brought me perfect sacrifices. I’ll harvest their souls, just like the rest.” The demon seemed to unhinge its jaws, descending on her.
“NOOOOOOO!!”
The lights flicked on. “And that’s the game,” Midnight said, standing next to the light switch. The rest of the class emerged from the hallway, embarrassed.
“What?!” The two girls shouted.
Midoriya smiled brightly and lowered Ashido before retracting Black Whip and releasing Float. You high-fived him before turning to Bakugou, who was strangely trembling. “Katsuki, are you okay?”
Suddenly he doubled over in laughter. “WOOOOO! I can’t believe each and every one of you idiots fell for it!”
“But-but-but, I thought you left?!” Kirishima spluttered.
Bakugou was dying with laughter, so you took over. “Bakugou’s trick was, as sensei would say, a logical ruse. In fact, Midoriya planned the whole thing.”
“Midoriya?!”
“But Mido,” Ashido said, “I thought you didn’t like scary things!”
“Nope, I just find them really boring, and people don’t like it when I start overanalyzing movies.” Uraraka and Iida winced. “Nothing against you guys of course! I know I’d get upset if someone wouldn’t stop talking when I was watching something.”
“So, how did you do it?” Yaoyorozu asked. “It was – clearly – very convincing.”
“Well, Kacchan pretending to leave was the first step, but getting Midnight to help was the second.”
“Wait, we were only allowed to have people from our class!” Sato said.
Bakugou, finally having control over his laughs, snorted. “Nah, Pinky only said we could only have four people on our team. She never said it had to be in our class.”
“You got me there,” Ashido sighed.
“That’s why I planted that little story about demonic summoning during class,” Midnight said, “and why I volunteered to watch the dorm for Aizawa tonight. Then of course, I also supplied a bit of my quirk.”
“We needed just a bit,” Midoriya explained. “That way we could get [L/n] to convincingly pass out. Then, after he woke up when I chased you guys out of the room, he had time to put on some bloody makeup and to shapeshift into the fake Ochako. Auntie taught me a lot about costume makeup for cosplays so I have a bit of a collection for times like this.”
Shouji’s eyes widened. “Then, when I saw [L/n]…”
“I was setting up a timer to temporarily cut the power. Nothing sells a demon like a blackout, right?” All three of you removed the costume contact lenses from their eyes. “Convincing, huh?”
“All I had to do was suggest something terrible happening to me for you idiots to fill in the rest of the blanks,” Bakugou smirked. “’course my costume was pretty good too.”
“Admittedly the hardest part was getting Black Whip to come out of my mouth.” Midoriya muttered. “Anyway, that means we win! So, who’s taking over trash duty for me?”
The class just stared in shock. “I… can’t believe it,” Shinsou muttered. “They completely played us.”
“Like a goddamn fiddle,” Kaminari groaned.
“Not like it was hard, Dunce-face,” Bakugou snorted. “Doesn’t hurt my [Y/n] and my ‘Zuku are awesome actors and could scare your asses any day!”
It took all of two seconds before Bakugou realized what he had said. Todoroki, fearless or perhaps blunt as ever, spoke first. “Did Bakugou just admit he’s dating [L/n] and Midoriya?”
“Ah fuck.” In a flash you were surrounded by your classmates, clamoring for details.
You sighed. “And here I figured I’d win the bet.”
Midoriya laughed. “I guess Kacchan just had to force a win.”
“I didn’t wanna win it like this!”
And so, despite winning the scare-off, the three of you were perhaps stuck with the scariest thing of all: explaining why you were hiding a relationship for fun from a class that thrived on chaos.

Round 1 of preliminaries, group 5
Tumblr media
The first two places get a place on the bracket
Little reminder: there will be 2 more rounds of preliminaries, the losing blorbos of this poll still have 2 chances of getting in the official bracket
Propaganda under the cut
Melissa Chase (Milo Murphy’s Law)
"Her self worth is entirely based on her grade point average and getting straight As. She can’t remember anything, ever (specific examples include forgetting her maths book regularly, her student pass for the subway, and how many days are in February). However, she CAN remember the blood type of every president. She is terrible at throwing She gets visually upset when she realises that a plan was changed last minute, and that an academic event she expected to do well in was combined with a sporting event, giving no time to prepare for the new event She freaks OUT when she thinks she’s going to disappoint her headteacher- she doesn’t seem to expect to be given any actual punishment, just that the headteacher will be disappointed and think that she’s irresponsible She has a whole conspiracy room in her house dedicated to researching her best friend’s medical condition- Murphy’s Law being an interest that she is clearly very passionate about and interested in. she does all of that and still can’t remember her maths book. relatable queen her ambition in life is to be a “journalist, and queen of the universe” "
Candace Flynn (Phineas and Ferb)
"A ball of stress and anxiety. She's always angry because nobody listens to her, cares about her feelings, or believes her about anything, which tbh is like the quintessential teenage girl experience. Secretly just wants her parents to recognise and appreciate her."
V-Flower (Vocaloid)
"they believe that people only care about them when they are in pain"
Ciaphas Cain (Warhammer 40k)
"Don't let the sharp jawline and the mutton-chops fool you: Ciaphas Cain has no idea what he's fucking doing and would very much like to not be here right now. He is a high-ranking Commissar, essentially a walking morale boost for Imperial Guard soldiers and one of the only symbols of hope in the grimdark Warhammer 40k universe. He also has no idea how he got the job or how to get the hell out. Commissar Cain spends all his time accidentally doing magnificent bastard things while trying to run away from danger and dying inside. Over the course of his books, he's named Hero of the Imperium, has a hot mommy inquisitor fall in love with him, and saves hundreds of planets per panic attack he has. His cowardice and impostor syndrome are second only to my own, and that's why he's just like me fr."
Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson series)
"he's got big no thoughts head empty energy! he loves his friends and girlfriends SO much (more most YA characters, i think; he would have no qualms about sacrificing the world to save the people he loves, which goes against the typical hero). he is almost always ready to fight a bitch. he has adhd and accidentally says things he shouldnt all the time (but this has made him good at problem-solving, bc he creates a LOT of problems for himself)"
MK (Lego Monkie Kid)
"Oooooh boy where do I begin. MK the Monkie Kid is the protagonist of the story but he has *so many issues*. He wants to be a good person but has a whole lot of impostor syndrome and is convinced he will only hurt people the more he tries to save them. He is convinced that every major villain in the show is his fault, even as far as misremembering/changing up some events to put blame onto himself He also has an absent mentor figure that was supposed to help him but guess what he had to figure out all his powers on his own so abandonment issues go brrrr. He has so much anger toward his mentor Wukong but he just *bottles it all up* (common theme) Also he is so trans and adhd coded. First, MK is a nickname. We don’t know his real name, but it is v much implied he used to go by something else. He and his friends also puts a lot of emphasis on manly stuff like ‘I’m a big boy!’/‘he’s a Monkie *Man*!!!’/‘im the smartie boy, the plan man!’ He also has trouble focusing and listening to other people, is sometimes blunt and he is VERY interested in Sun Wukong and the journey to the west (Chinese classical novel that the show is based on) and just in general always needs constant reassurance and support from his friends. He is often compartmentalizing his feelings and internalizes a lot of fear and blame is also suppressing a part of himself that scares him. (Which, same) He loves his friends so much and tries so hard to keep them all safe, even hiding his own problems and worries from them as an attempt to protect them. He wants to go back to season 1, back when each episode was a villain-of-the-week kinda story, with no world-destroying threats. But nope, he saw the horrors, and he can never go back to the bubbly Monkie Kid from the beginning. Also he is terrified of spiders :>"
