To the person who was asking about Ben's family, I was sat right next to his parents at his London show and someone asked if the empty seats next to them were free not knowing who they were. Ben's dad responded curtly 'they're reserved, the sign says so'. Not the worst thing but like, there are so many ways to answer that without being rude y'know. Do with that what you will
I will allow this. Obviously they won't sit near the peasants like muffins let's be real here xd
Or ye know, golden VIP package seats or whatever loool

Types of affectionate the Templars are - Part 3
Tumblr media
Shay Patrick Cormac - The Irish Captain. Good cuddler. I said it. Good. Cuddler. Look at this Irish penguin and tell me those arms won't wrap around you in a warm hug and just melt all of the stress and worry away. That FRICKEN smirk is so attractive you could die from attraction overload, and he KNOWS what it does to you too. He's all for quick playful kisses the kind that are delivered out of nowhere and make you laugh. He has a habit of taking his gloves off when he caresses your face, he likes to have skin to skin contact with you. Taking your face in his hands and kissing you sweet as he threads his fingers through your hair (if it's down, he'll smooth it if you have it pinned up as man has had his fair share of difficult hair days lol). Head cannon that his love knitted him a grey scarf and he wears it all.the.time. It's like a grown man comfort blanket to him lol and he has a hard time letting it go when you need to wash it or repair it (so he pulls you into his lap or hugs you from behind instead). if you don't judge or criticize him, he'll love you even more because he already does that to himself enough. To have a sweet love that understands him and loves him despite his past, would be equal to having the world in the palm of his hand to him. Whether you're a Templar or not he would like for you be safe no matter what. Going so far as to state that he would prefer to have you safe on dry land over being selfish and putting your safety at risk on the Morrigan. You however put.your.foot.DOWN and said either you were going with him or you would tie him to the bed (which he wouldn't mind per say...) but when he realized that your stubbornness matched his own? He couldn't help but acquiesce to his lovers demands (with a big fat grin on his face lol). He loves it when you pepper his face with kisses and stroke his jaw with your fingers. If you kiss his scar over his eye he will melt like butter in your hands, it makes him feel very loved to know that you love him and desire him even with all of his scars. (I mean come on you can't deny that his scars are VERY fitting on him). He loves speaking to you in Irish Gaelic loving the blush that covers your face, with every time you laugh drawing him closer to you until your wrapped in his arms tightly against his chest. You swear that from that cheeky smirk on his face, that he's saying dirty things to you, but once you learn a bit of it to surprise him you find that while some things are quite dirty... - he mostly talks about the kind of life he wants with you and how he wants to give you the world. He speaks of settling down somewhere nice and comfortable and having a handful of beautiful children, (he'll literally take such good care of you while you're pregnant FR). But even if you two never settle because so long as he has you, he is home. Shay doesn't want to raise them in the ways of the Order he wants to let them choose, and most especially give them the chance to have a normal life. He will teach them self-defense though as well as making sure that their beloved mother can kick bahookie Far and Away style lol. His daughters may not choose to follow in their father's footsteps, but the majority of his sons do (as in cannon), and while you worry about them Shay swears upon his love for you and his life (bc he knows that if your babies get so much as a SCRATCH he'll get his cute Irish ass handed to him lol) that he'll be there to guide them every step of the way. If you cook for him and sing in Gaelic this man will explode from love. STOP BEING SO PERFECT YOU MINX. Besides Gist, you are the only person he trusts enough to let you take the wheel of the Morrigan when he can't do it himself. When you two get married your wedding is on the Morrigan when she's docked in New York's harbor with a celebration following off ship afterward. You two will love each other with everything you have even after the end of your days.
Tumblr media
Haytham Kenway - The Austere Grandmaster. He's often busy with business concerning the Order but when he does have time with you, he makes it well worth it. Tell me that this man doesn't buy you jewelry that matches your eyes. He thinks you look gorgeous in blue, and he has a hard time taking his eyes off of you... I imagine that he enjoys the slow life with you aside from the normal life he lives. He would enjoy having breakfast with you and having relaxing mornings where you force him to stay in bed because if he works too much his brain will implode. If he has to leave you, he makes arrangements for you to be protected and well provided for while he's away, and he always brings you something from his travels. Kind of feel like he would be the type of lover to spoil you rotten because he can't be there and then try his best to make it up to you when he sees you again. He'll also plan surprises for you ahead of time either when he's there or while he's away. Haytham was very flattered and surprised when you returned his favor, as he wasn't expecting someone so sweet to be interested in the likes of him, as he is aware that he doesn't come off as the warmest man. He definitely blushed when you made him a gift something that he prizes almost as much as he does you: a red satin sash that you handmade for him to tie around his waist (it makes him look even more dashing if that's even possible). He would write you letters of course expressing his love for you and informing you of what was going on and inquiring about your well-being. He's protective of both you and your honor, and he will not stand to see you disrespected. He will duel for your honor - knowing of course that he'll win - making sure that anyone who dares to disrespect you will pay the price for it. He loves to show you off in public any chance he gets, he's very proud of you lol. He'll proudly introduce you as the "lovely woman he has the honor of courting" and make it known that he sees you as wife material. I can imagine going to an event with him, specifically a tea party and when he's concluded his business or had all he can take of the stuffy upper class, he'll stay by your side engaging in playful conversation with you. Imagine sitting there people watching as you two come up with stories about the lives of the people around you. You two would get looks for laughing when one of you comes up with a rather preposterous story about a partygoer, with you turning to hide your face in his shoulder as he begs their pardon with slight sarcasm lol. He will definitely give you looks over his teacup whether they be eyes of "Do you hear this snobbish buffoonery?" or eyes of "You look absolutely ravishing". He'll mostly be checking you out over the rim of his cup though more interested in you than the tea. He'll make faces at you when the person isn't looking whether it be rolling his eyes at their nonsense or making an exaggerated face of disdain which makes you smile to no end. If at all possible, the first chance he sees to get you alone he absolutely will, disguising it as nothing more than a friendly walk between a gentleman and his lady. He's less of a gentleman behind the bushes though... I personally do not believe that he would not introduce you to Ratonhnhake:ton his son - not because he's ashamed of you or because he feels like he has to hide you. He doesn't think that his son would harm you either, but Haytham wishes to keep you out of Templar affairs as much as possible (that is if you're not already a Templar when you two meet) because he doesn't want you to be harmed, targeted, or something else awful he refuses to think about. If we're not sticking to cannon and he lives until his natural death you two stay together until the end. If we're sticking to cannon and he eventually dies in 1781 he leaves you everything he has (which is a lot) hoping to leave you set for life and wanting for nothing. Thinking about his love even unto death.

It's the 17th of March, so y'know what that means-
Tumblr media
Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you all! I know the majority of you probably don't celebrate, which is fair, BUT I decided I wanted to talk a little more about the country I was born and raised in- the Emerald Isles of Ireland!! :D
If you're just here for the art, well here ya go! However, if you want to learn more in a VERY long post:
Tumblr media
Just to start off, here's the Irish flag and the Ivory Coast flag! Wanted to add this because they can get easily mixed up (I got them muddled up a LOT when I was younger-)
Since it is Saint Patrick's Day, I should probably elaborate what that's about- what I've been taught in school is that Saint Patrick preached the Gospel to the Irish, one method including the shamrock to represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Of course, and the whole "he drove the snakes out of Ireland" but don't worry. There are still snakes in Ireland. And I'm pretty sure "snakes" is a metaphor anyway. And, turns out, he wasn't even originally from Ireland- he was British! Oh yeah, and he was kidnapped by pirates to become a slave when he was a teenager for 6 year s -
Tumblr media
Here are some stereotypes or the first things that pop into your mind when you think of "Ireland"- leprechauns, short gingers, "Top of the mornin' to ya" and our love for spuds and beer. And, to tell you some stuff about them too!
Leprechauns originally wore red! They pop up in fairy tales quite often too.
Ireland is second when it comes to having the highest percentage of gingers with 10%, with Scotland having 13%. As for being short, I reassure you, there are plenty of tall and/or lanky people around. (A lot of my teachers are like this-)
I've heard no one say this as a greeting. The only Irish person I can think of who does is Jacksepticeye. You might be more likely to hear "How's it going?" or "What's the crack?"
As for loving beer, we are one of the highest consumers for it, but there are many other higher consumers! Also, I don't know if this is a thing in America or not, but we tend to call them pubs. Bars are a bit more...fancy? I don't know how to describe the difference.
And for loving potatoes? Okay. This is probably true lol. Almost everyone I know likes potatoes (with some exceptions). And, of course, who can forget the Great Famine when blight destroyed the potato crop and killed around a million people- spuds were a huge source of food back then.
And now, for language! Here are some I'm used to hearing quite regularly (and use often, too!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another two that I want to add are more Cork exclusive, but saying "boy/girl" at the end of sentences and using "like" a lot is quite common (especially the like one- I say "like" all the time ;v;).
And now, Irish itself! Now, I'm not going to tell you anything major (I'm not a teacher) but I will try my best to explain a little!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Irish is not the main language of Ireland but in some particular areas (shown in the right image) there are regions called Gaeltacht districts which predominantly speak Irish. Their Irish would be a lot better than my school-knowledge based Irish :'D Another thing to add is that different provinces (the provinces shown in the middle image) have different versions, or pronunciations of some words. Being from the province of Munster, I've been taught the "Munster" pronunciations and words.
Tumblr media
So..."Tá mé éan sásta" would mean "I am a happy bird" :D
Tumblr media
I apologise for how messy my writing looks-
OKAY. ONE MORE THING I WANTED TO COVER IN THE IRISH LANGUAGE IS THE NAMES, because I've seen plenty of people online and in real life joking lightheartedly how hard Irish names are pronounced. So here are some Irish names!!
Saoirse - this one is brought up quite a bit- It can either be pronounced as "seer-sha" or "sair-sha"!
Róisín - "roh-sheen" !
Eoin - even I had a hard time pronouncing this when I was younger- it's pronounced as "owe-in" like "owing" but without the g!
Fódhla - I remember this appeared in the newspaper once and a family member was baffled by it- it's said as "foh-la" :]
Another I want to mention is Eilish- you probably know it thanks to Billie Eilish, which is pronounced as "eye-lish"- but it can also be pronounced as "eye-leesh"!
Last one, Sinéad- you may have seen this one once or twice as is pronounced "shin-aid" :D
And now, some more quick stuff!!
Musicians from Ireland!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left you have Hozier (love his music!! :D) and the right is the Cranberries!!
Some other Irish artists you may be familiar with are U2, Thin Lizzy, Westlife and Sinéad O' Connor!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some popular Irish snacks!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
crisps/chips!! (I love em both dearly)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
of course, how can I not bring up Irish bread: soda bread and blaas :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hot chicken rolls!! (seriously how are these not more popular elsewhere-) and spice bags!! (chips with spices, peppers. maybe chicken)
Animal wise, we haven't got anything too crazy, but we do have one of the largest breeds of dog, the Irish greyhound and the now extinct largest deer, the elk.
I think I'm beginning to run low on space, so I'll end it there!! If you're also Irish, free to add on facts/words!!
I don't usually say this but I would kinda appreciate reblogs since I felt like I put a bit more effort into this ;v;
So uh, yeah- Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! :D

since you folks seem to have lost your sense of fecking whimsy, have a folklore rant from the mouth (or hands, rather) of a disabled Irish woman who grew up hearing the history along with the tales and had changling stories in my own family. and no, my post will NOT be riddled with source links because my source is the oral history from the people who told the stories
for heaven's sake the changling myth is not ablist or anti-autism it was mostly about fricking crib death
and most irish people are/were cool with the fae. if you're desperate to bring autism in the mix, mostly you'll get "aye, they got a wee bit o' fae blood in them. just work around their quirks, and you'll get along swell". but mostly the changling myth was either a) crib death - "the Fae Folk trusted you with their child's last moments, and yours isn't dead, it's running around happy as can be with the faeries", which helped mothers with ptsd and depression after the sudden and inexplicable passing of their child because they didn't have the medical technology to know what crib death was and most old irish mothers blamed themselves (I used to know what crib death was caused by, but I forgot - I'm pretty sure it was an inevitable genetic thing)
or b) chronic illness (such as connective tissue disorders, g.i. disorders, and yes neurodivergence) that would be hard to recognize in a baby - "the Fair Folk trusted you with this fragile, sickly child and in return for your loving care will provide your own child with wonders none of us humans can imagine".
most families with changling children loved and treated the "faerie" like their own blood (which they were, but still), and we're a very hospitality-driven culture. you treat everyone like your own family, it's a close-knit community - even more so back then. were there people who tried to "return" the faerie child, leaving a baby alone in the woods? yeah, a few, but not the majority. and pregnancy has been known to do some pretty nasty things to some minds, this would be more a mental health problem of the mother than an ablist "that's not my kid" thing. also ablists do exist in every culture, there is that point as well.
my main point is - legends draw from life, and life is full of biases. are goblins/gnomes (forgot which one) anti-jew? maybe. are changling children ablist? only sometimes, and those are the outliers (my own mother was considered a changling by her grandparents - that didn't make them love her any less). are vikings depicted as wearing helmets with horns because of Irish people? yes because THEY WERE INVADING AND R*PING AND PILLAGING OUR TINY LITTLE ISLAND WITH NO PROVOCATION. what better way to get children and unknowing adults to run and hide and save themselves than creating a monster instead of Some Guy?
if you try to make a story with zero biases that won't offend anybody, it will be as bland and beige as your fricking houses. if something in your life is scary or bothersome or different than you, that will translate into your oral narrative. that's just how oral histories work. also, any blatant or malicious biases in the original story/cryptid will have trickled down through a millennia-old game of telephone and would be practically unrecognizable unless you were looking for it. stop looking for things that are "problematic" or "anti-___" and you'll realise that people need whimsy in their life
and finally - you don't have to believe in everything, but don't mess with it just in case.

Okay Map/Hero Matching time
Explained the criteria in my last post, but to recap the idea is to see what heroes go along with what maps, either by shared nationality or story relevance.
These are two different criteria for a reason: Like I also mentioned in my last post, Moira is from Ireland, but there's no Irish map in-game as of now. However, she has significant story ties to Oasis, a map that takes place in Iraq. I would think it fair to say then that Oasis could be considered "Moira's map" even though there's a mismatch of nationality.
I did the list both ways, both attaching heroes to a list of maps, and assigning maps to a list of heroes. Let's start with the latter first:
Starting with the Tanks:
Tumblr media
This is gonna be the same story with Zenyatta later, but Ramattra is weird because he technically doesn't have an official nationality. He's an Omnic built in the Omniums, with his exact location of origin unknown. He spent a good portion of his life in Nepal, but it's not his home country. However, it very clearly is the location most significant to him personally.
Orisa on the other hand is very clearly considered to be from Numbani. She was created in Numbani, her creator is from Numbani, they both currently still live in Numbani, I think it's pretty safe to say she's Numbanian. For what it's worth, Orisa is the only non-human character given a nationality on the fandom wiki.
Notice I also listed some maps that have an "indirect" connection to the hero. These are connections that don't necessarily correspond to place of origin or home or base of operations, but have some significance to the character. This is kind of an iffy criteria, so I got stricter with it as I went on.
Now for Damage heroes:
Tumblr media
All of the Americans are in this category, go figure. America is also, go figure, the country with the most maps as of now (Route 66, Hollywood, Blizzard World, and Midtown. Actually only 4, I miscounted in my head but the point on the chart stands). The most interesting one to talk about is Reaper, who was a cop in Las Angeles before his time in Overwatch and Talon, which would technically make Hollywood "his map" more than anyone else's, but the hero and map have literally no significance to each other otherwise.
Bastion is also... weird. They're the one hero who doesn't have a specified point of origin, and also doesn't have a clear "home country". The Bastion robot units were originally created by SST Laboratories, which based on Torbjorn being a critical member of, may suggest that it's a Swedish company, and therefore by proxy you could consider Bastion to be Swedish? That's a bit of a stretch though, so to be safe I left their nationality blank, and only considered their resting place (Black Forest, Germany) as a directly relevant map.
Echo is the last weird "what country is the robot from" to discuss. Her creator, Mina Liao, is Singaporean. If we apply the Orisa logic of a robot created directly by one individual inheriting that creator's nationality (especially considering Echo literally copied some of Liao's behaviors and even her voice, with some sources implying a sort of mother/daughter bond between them), then Echo is also Singaporean. However, it's unlikely she was built in Singapore. Liao made Echo late into her time at Overwatch, whose major bases of operations were in Switzerland and Gibraltar. Either way... yeah I'm not researching Singapore's citizenship laws to determine if she counts for that.
(also if you look at the chart and say "what the hell are Gothenburg and Suravasa", then it's something I've explained before, but will get into more later here)
Now for the Supports:
Tumblr media
Nothing we haven't seen already at this point, I've explained most of these with other heroes earlier.
Only thing to note is Ayutthaya, the Thailand-based CTF map added all the way back in Lunar New Year 2018. While we do finally have a Thai hero in Lifeweaver, as far as we know now he doesn't have anything in particular to do with the map. Ayutthaya as an arcade mode map doesn't have any lore in general (shoot, even less than most of the others), let alone anything tying it to Lifeweaver. Would've been a hell of a cool trick to have Lifeweaver planned to tie into the map since it was added, but... yeah no I don't think that's likely at all.
Now for the other way around, looking at this from the perspective of what maps have relevant heroes.
I didn't consider the non-canon maps (The 4 Workshop maps and the upcoming Talantis) or any map variants for... hopefully obvious reasons.
Starting with Escort and Hybrid.
Tumblr media
I did these charts first, so I was a lot more lenient on what "indirect connections" would include. There's a number of maps that are relevant to Overwatch as a whole or Talon as a whole, but not any one member. For those, I just put the group name in that section.
As you might notice, a lot more maps don't have heroes than heroes not having maps. The only American map having any actual ties to any heroes is Route 66, the rest are completely unrelated.
Next up though, the Control, Push, and Assault maps:
Tumblr media
Nothing else to note here, other than clarifying that yes, I am aware that Antarctica technically isn't a country, and The Moon is definitely not a country. But like. you know what I mean, right?
Anyways, moving ahead to the last few maps, these being the Arcade-exclusive maps and the future maps:
Tumblr media
So lemme quickly recap Gothenburg and Suravasa.
Early on for Overwatch 2's initial announcements, we learned about a few new maps, including Gothenburg (an Assault map featuring Torbjorn's workshop) and a map said to take place in India (which I deduced in an earlier post was specifically Suravasa, a location from Symmetra's Stone by Stone story). We haven't seen these maps come to the game yet though, mostly because Assault was scrapped as a core game mode for Overwatch 2, and the replacement mode to adapt these maps into has yet to be revealed. They felt important to include here though, since we're aware of their existence and they're maps very clearly made to be home maps for some of the Overwatch heroes who've lacked one for the longest time.
Now for some data, which heroes and maps don't have a match?
The heroes (that have a specified nationality) without a map from the same country are Doomfist (Nigeria), Sigma (Netherlands), Baptiste (Haiti), Mercy (Switzerland), and Moira (Ireland).
Removing the heroes who have clear corresponding map for reasons besides nationality (and including dubious nationalities), the list of heroes without a map of any kind are just Sigma (unless you count Horizon Lunar Colony), Echo, Mercy, and Baptiste.
The maps without any heroes from the same country are Watchpoint: Gibraltar (Gibraltar), Rialto (Italy), Havana (Cuba), Circuit Royal (Monaco), Ilios (Greece), Oasis (Iraq), Antarctic Peninsula/Ecopoint Antarctica, Colosseo (Italy), Esperanca (Portugal), Petra (Southern Jordan), and Malevento (Italy).
Removing the maps that have a clear hero match that just isn't necessarily from the same country, the list goes down to Rialto, Havana, Circuit Royal, Ilios, Colosseo, Esperanca, Petra, and Malevento.
Soooooo yeah! If I missed something or you need clarification on something in the chats, then shoot me a reply to let me know!
...Why did I do this.

Ran into this interesting video on how racism has shaped western music theory
youtube
Comparing and contrasting with racism in English literature education in America under the cut
In English American Literature™ classes we talked a lot about how race, class, and gender* influence historical records and literary analysis as well as the dismissal of genre writing like sci fi and fantasy (and not even in my women's studies classes? Literally in high school? Lmao). So given I was already primed to suss out that there is no "universal" anything when it comes to culture, I was honestly really surprised that "music is the universal language" didn't ping me as Potentially Big Racism. The only other thing I've heard that about was math I'm highschool, which makes me want to look into how math might not be a universal language either (I already recently learned that braille is an alphanumeric type system dependant on English and the Indo-Arabic number system**, so it's definitely not a universal language either, nevermind ASL which has american right there in the acronym). Computer language problems be English centric are well known as far as I know though- but I only found that out in college.
Jazz is something they talk about quite a bit, which is totally justified, but the lack of Chinese music theory, Japanese music theory, African music theory, and even Irish music theory and Scottish music theory, is uhhhhhhhhh utterly bizarre to me now. Imagine taking English class and only learning German and no other contributing linguistic roots, and only learning it in German.
I think the YouTuber doesn't realize the extent of the abnormality there because he probably doesn't know a lot about literary analysis, but when it comes to cultural mixing in America only talking about one contributing culture is erasure of even other white cultures- which is shocking from an inclusivity standpoint, a kind of regression that puts us way back in the 1800s when Irish people were being discriminated against as immigrants (though that makes sense considering that's when this sort of thinking was being developed).
I think in particular the thing that's bothering me is the antisemitism of the German supremacy that's mentioned. I feel like there's a lot of prejudice with English that isn't purely rooted in antisemitism, but I feel like this is one of the few cases where antisemitism is a disproportionately large fraction of the problem. Excluding Jazz is racist as hell especially in America, evangelicalizing Germany specifically is racism that whole industries rarely participate in as a rule (literature often focuses on the works of transcendentalists and Shakespeare and art on the Renaissance- neither of which is german).
I dunno maybe everyone already knows this and I'm very late to the party though, considering I don't know anything about music besides middle school classes (though I don't remember English classes being quite as bad even then) and I've never taken a math or music class in college. But I have heard multiple people studying those majors repeat these things, and these were people in their senior year with this as their major, so I dunno what's up with that.
*I had to take other classes for intersectional approaches and ones that covered other dimensions of oppression so it wouldn't be fair to say that they talked about other things even if I did learn about them in other contexts, so basically I'm not forgetting the other systems of oppression they just don't apply here
**I looked it up to make sure it was the Arabic number system that I was thinking of and found out that it also had Hindu influences which >:/ more things I didn't know. I wish I had more opportunities for global sociopolitical classes that would focus on this kind of thing
[wrt alternative math notation, apparently even 3blue1brown covered this so I'm just totally out of the loop for everything, which makes some kind of sense considering the limited education I have on it. I do wonder if more widespread discussion of the barriers to recognition in the fields of music and mathematics, like with representation in fiction authors and poetry writers, would give more marginalized people opportunities in the fields and ultimately in education. I get the general sense that fans and fandom is aware of representation these days, and as a casual fan of music I was not aware of these things, so this information trickling into the kpop type fandoms might be beneficial in helping to preserve existing representation in the music fields and increase support for more from the incredible power generated by Scorned Teenage Girls (positive) that we've seen with all sorts of political movements lately.]

Since your up for debates with the bad batch😂 I've got an unpopular opinion!I actually don't mind some of the bb member being pale(I understand why people are upset by it tho don't get me wrong and I still love the tan edits, especially yours cuz those are CLEAN)but I've kinda never saw it as whitewashing as much as I saw it as kinda making them more of outliers to show it more as they are indeed the BADBATCH they were born looking different.Ive just head cannoned them with melanin deficiency-1
Tumblr media
I’m gonna go under the assumption that these are both from the same person! I am always up to bad batch discourse any time as long as it is does not personally attack me so you are good ^^ I am happy you like my edits as well!
For people who do read this, I am giving my view on these things and this should no way be taken for truth. If you want to yell at me for something I say, read through the entire post first.
Onward.
If we are speaking strictly Bad Batch, I do not have a problem with their pale skin either. One of Tech’s mutations is stated to be the fair skin, so him I get. That’s literally a mutation and listed as one. Cross would also make sense for being paler, given he looks a bit sickly overall. Hunter and Wrecker I would say should have darker skin, unless Hunter is fused with a pale skinned species such as the  Karkarodon group from Season 4 (possibly where that electroreception reception come from since sharks are known to have that).
I know a lot of people say “oh their desirable mutations are that they’re white” and I just don’t see that. Pale skin is certainly a mutation that can occur and (I could be wrong) but Temuera Morrison does has Scotch-Irish in his family so there is a possibility for paler skin if a gene gets turned on/off when the Kaminoans are doing their crimes. This is even more likely if the genes are being experimented with which is definitely the case with the Batch. Can cause hair color/type change, body type change, eye color, hell you name it. Skin could be among them. Genes are wild and a single flip of the switch can give you an extra finger or can kill you.
So could it be a mutation? Yes. Is it the desirable mutation? Considering Hunter senses magnetic frequencies, Tech is a human supercomputer, Wrecker is the hulk x2, and Crosshair can hit a bullseye at 10 km (the human record is 3)... I’m giving that a hard no. I’m tired of hearing that. That’s not the “desirable mutation”. It’s certainly a mutation they have, but their paleness isn’t what makes them desirable. Will probably get attacked for saying that, but I just don’t see it.
Now The issue is this: paler skin should not be the norm. At all. The clones in the show are pale. Paler than they should be. A vast and overwhelming majority should match Mr Morrison exactly cause... they clones. This is definitely a case of whitewashing, no skirting around that. They are also very “angular” for lack of a better word, compared to Maori who have smoother features.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I see no angles on Mr. Morrison’s face. Rexy got more angles than a Picasso painting. I know the clone wars is a very blocky style in general but... yike.  So, I can understand why people are upset with the Batch. It’s a chronic issue that has been going on for years. And while I’m rather new to the issue so I cannot really speak too much on it (plus I am not the marginalized group), I definitely agree it is a widespread and bad issue.  They have no excuse for whatever the hell happened with poor Echo. I can understand him getting semi-paler because he’s been in a literal freeze for I think two years but he shouldn’t have the color scheme of a dryer sheet.
TL;DR The Batch being pale is probable if you consider experimentation/mutation, but the rest of the clones should not be that pale.

Bits of his character arc
Gerry's personality is largely based on his real life counterpart (me! And my name just so happens to be Gerry! XD)
The story between Gerry and and his real life counterpart are both totally different!
His breed is a American Jackrabbit-European Hare mix, as evident by his ears and his hare-like nose. His biological mother is a jackrabbit named Sarah, and his biological father is an Irish emigrant hare named Dermot (hence Gerry's Irish descent).
He's born and partially-raised in a distant part of the North American region, outside of both Bunnyburrow and Zootopia.
A couple of guys on e621.net (where I upload some of my commission pieces) thought I was making him a child to Judy and Nick, when that's not the case at all. He's in a totally different walk-of-life to them. He is however a major fan of the duo, ever since he discovered them on a reality TV show.
It's often expected in fictional media that rabbits (and sometimes hares) would have dozens of offspring/children (as this is sorta true with wild rabbits, as they tend to commonly produce litters, especially in springtime; pet rabbits would probably do so too if given the opportunity...), but that's not the case with Gerry's family. He was the only child born to the rabbit and hare couple of Sarah and Dermot (until a decade later), but he was kidnapped by a deceitful nanny that they unintentionally hired when he was only a year and a quarter old. He was taken to be sold for overseas child labor, but he would then be rescued by the police that busted this crime syndicate, and brought to an adoption centre at Bunnyburrow, but they were unable to track his parents anywhere. Fortunately, he would be adopted by a kind widowed hare lady named Heidi. 7 years later, he would be reunited with his parents, as they were finally able to discover his whereabouts! And not long after, his parents would then have triplets. Two girls named Elizabeth and Virginia, and one boy named Kevin, thus Gerry would become the big older brother of these kids.
His right-side ear got slightly notched as a result of being bullied at school by both a rat named Jake and a raccoon named Kyle, particularly for his emotional drive and rather wimpy attitude during his foster-child school years.
He's not codenamed 'Andro-Ace Bunny' for nothing. He may be a male, but he's one that's quite androgynous. He has some feminine qualities to him, such as taking interest in some female-oriented activities such as yoga, childcare, etc., getting either really giddy or really annoyed easily, doesn't feel comfortable in taking some major risks, and prefering to sit on the toilet in the restroom instead of standing up like a normal guy (though he sometimes would do the latter). Plus, he has little to no sexual desire or attraction, hence the asexual identity. However, he finds non-sexual/romantic attraction towards both male and female of any species, therefore he's bi-romantic!
Character details about Gerry's parents, his younger triplet siblings and his foster mother Heidi will be coming soon!
His likes and dislikes
He’s very fond of video games, culture, drawing, computers, technology, music (particularly film scores, Xmas songs and chart hits from the 80s and 90s), beverages like Coca-Cola, banana juice and milk tea.
But not exactly a fan of carrots (unusual for bunnies! Another stereotype debunked!), coffee (unless it has milk) and heated arguments.
His favourite love songs are "Beauty and the Beast", "Baby Mine" and "Flying Dreams".
He pursues a career as a game programmer and working at Carrot (the 'Zootopia' version of Apple). Though again, he also enjoys drawing as a hobby.
His inspirations
Judy Hopps
Nick Wilde
Judy's parents, Bonnie and Stu Hopps

Buttercup (Watership Down TV series, same with Fiver)
The Nesquick Bunny (especially with fur colors)
Porky Pig
Miles 'Tails' Prower
Gonzo and Rizzo
Thumper (Bambi)
Woody (Toy Story)
Lucky Jack (Home on the Range)
Mike Wazowski
Surly, Buddy and Andie (The Nut Job)
and Myself (e.g. my personality, my interests, my overall character, etc.)
Why he’s a rabbit
Just for those wondering...
(The following is a unpopular opinion) Contrast to most Zootopia fans I know, my favourite character in the movie is actually Judy Hopps (with only Nick Wilde as the runner-up, I will add in all fairness). I relate to her the most, and I find her to be a very positive female role model, especially for the next generations to come.
I've been inspired by the fursonas/Zoosonas of @trashasaurusrex, 'CiderBunArt' and @spazziebunnie to make a rabbit fursona of my own. I had a fursona already but this one was a brown dog. So I gave this character a total makeover during autumn of 2016 and changed his species into a rabbit/hare-mix.
According to Zootopia, rabbits are generally very emotionally-driven and effeminate animals. I could practically relate to this with all sincerity. In real life, I find myself to be less masculine than the average Joe where I come from. I don't work out much. I get really excited about something easily. And I have such a very soft spot for babies, pet animals and other cute things. But then there are times where I'm very emotionally unstable and sensititve. I get nervous easily. And whether it be bad luck or a missed opportunity, I tend to get very frustrated or mad at myself.
Ever since the likes of Zootopia and Watership Down, I found myself very fond of rabbits, more than I ever had before.
(Art pieces visually depicting my fursona's story arc will be coming soon and added to this post)

most americans don't seem to know what an ethnicity is, with lots of them just responding 'american' or 'white' (one of those is a nationality, the other is a race)
I mean, to be fair, that is a deliberate thing that was done in American culture to service racism and classism by breaking up pre-existing loyalties and moralities.
When non-English ethnic groups came to the US (especially European ones), they faced severe censure for maintaining any sort of ethnic identity. Language, clothes, religion, names, food styles, literally anything culturally or ethnically distinct would get you barred from anything but menial employment, and your kids punished/mocked in school. This continued well into the 20th Century. A few things could be kept--you could have one or two special foods for holidays, for example, and a day or two every year for a festival celebrating their culture ... as long as there was no visible difference between you and any other white person 99.9% of the time.
In order to receive the benefits of being seen as White, and as American (better jobs, better treatment by cops, better housing, better everything) you had to A) give up most ethnic ties and B) be willing to participate in the racist and classist system instead of challenging it. For example, Henry Ford (yes, the Henry Ford who created Ford cars) would have a ceremony for his employees who were immigrants who got their citizenship where they would start the ceremony with their “quaint native dress” (i.e. what had been their normal clothes before they came to the US) and change into standard US fashionable clothing and the “quaint native dress” would be handed over to be destroyed.
The majority of white people in the US don’t have an ethnic identity because it was deliberately destroyed, and don’t know what their ancestors’ ethnic identity was either. And those who have maintained that ethnic identity, it tends to be of the “I’m Irish so I drink green beer and eat corned beef on St. Paddy’s day!” variety. (In other words, people from that ethnic group still in Europe side-eye you for the fact that it’s both shallow and based on stuff that started in the US, not when your ethnic group was living in the Old Country.)
In the US, forms that ask questions about identity ask about race, and only have one question about ethnicity: are you Hispanic. Because that is the only ethnicity that has enough social difference across the entire country to matter, and it is also the only ethnicity that cuts across racial lines so you can’t just treat it as a subset of race. As a child and up through early adulthood, I was really confused by why the Hispanic question was on forms, because I didn’t understand how it was possible to have an identity that wasn’t a subset of race. And I even have an ethnic identity, my family came to the US recently enough that we haven’t lost touch with our roots! ... but it really only matters a handful of days a year, whereas my whiteness matters every day.
The closest thing most white Americans have to an ethnic identity (an identification based on shared factors like traditions, language, history, culture, religion, etc.) is their state and/or regional identification. Are you a Yankee? Midwesterner? Southerner? Texan? (I’m from the Pacific Northwest.)
okay new ask game. what's your ethnicity and can you slav squat (squat directly down with your heels touching the floor).

Nancy & Rio
Nancy: Not to be weird, because I obviously don't mind if so, but are you wearing my clothes in your latest insta pics or have I lost my mind? Rio: Oh my God, sorry! Shoulda said before putting that up Rio: casual single white female situation Rio: I was in London and I had to stop by yours to avoid a real walk of shame... whole 'nother story, assumed it'd be alright 'cos you know, you weren't using 'em? Shipped back fully dry cleaned, swear down Rio: Not to drop him in it but shamelessly will, Buster said it'd probably be alright too lol Nancy: Well we have the brunette and redhead thing going on, already. Just don't murder me like Nancy: It's more than okay. They look great on you and they are just sitting there Nancy: Keep them if you want Nancy: I'd rather you than one of Buster's 'guests' Nancy: Did you talk to him? Rio: Last time I check, no feelings of murderous jealousy towards you Rio: Even if you do have a killer clothes collection Rio: You're too sweet! I'm nowhere near statuesque enough to rock it for serious but it was fun playing dressup, not gonna lie Rio: A little bit, yeah, as much as you can with him Rio: Has he reached out to you yet? Nancy: We should go shopping then. I'm not flooded with other offers or compliments right now Nancy: He did try but I didn't answer the call. I didn't know what to say, you know Nancy: Do I want to know what he said about me, if anything? Rio: Absolutely, always up for a style update Rio: and I promise to stay away for the red box dye Rio: Rihanna 2010 I ain't Rio: That's fair, I remember he mentioned that too Rio: He said a lot of things, some of 'em stupid which don't bear repeating but I could tell he was worried about you, checking you were okay, like Nancy: Oh god Nancy: I should've answered I just couldn't Nancy: I've already broken my own heart there's no handling if he decided to do it for me too Nancy: It was like I already hear what he was going to say Rio: No one is judgding you for not Rio: He's been guility of being unavailable for less Rio: You're more than entitled to take your time with this Rio: Let him cool down too, I put him right where I could but Rio: He's stubborn Nancy: And he thinks I'm as cringey as everyone at school does, right? Nancy: I knew it Nancy: I can't blame him really Rio: But that's nothing you don't know, you feel the embarrassment, I don't get why people think they're being clever pointing out as if its not your first hand experience Rio: He asked if you were coming back Rio: which he clearly wants, even if he's not gonna outright say that Nancy: I thought he might be on my side since he always goes after what he wants Nancy: Maybe he is though, if he does want me home Rio: Yeah, there's definitely hypocrisy otherwise Rio: I'm not gonna commit him to either side from a conversation relayed but I don't think talking to him soon will make it any worse Rio: Hoping he said all the dumb shit he needed to me instead, like Nancy: Was he such a prick to you? I'm sorry Nancy: I can't go back until those girls are far away at uni Nancy: Do you think we could convince him to come here? Team effort to get a visit? Rio: Not all bad Rio: and nothing I can't handle Rio: Yeah, reckon I might've met some of them last night Rio: and I feel you Rio: Worth a shot, I threw it out there that maybe if he came it'd make your 'rents coming less of a shitshow Rio: try and hold him to it Nancy: The ringleader is Chloe, with an accent over the e. You'd remember her if you did Nancy: It wouldn't surprise me if she was still hanging around him and his friends, she always did fancy him Nancy: Okay. I'll try Rio: Oh my God, her?! Rio: If she gave me daggers any harder I woulda been bleeding Rio: Such an unlikely candidate, no offence Chlo hun but total Rio: always the girls with the least going for them, honestly Nancy: That's her specialty Nancy: What's it say about me that I used to think we were actually friends once Rio: She looks like she can play nice when she wants to Rio: with your Brother, like you said Rio: Ugh Nancy: Yeah. She didn't want to play nice after I came out but she did a convincing enough job before Rio: Bet she thought you were in love with her and everything? Rio: What a cliche mean girl Nancy: Oh she went one better and told everyone I made a move of her, which even I wouldn't Rio: Oh, don't flatter yourself Rio: What a cow! Yeah, she's not changed at all then, obviously I avoided her best I could but she was way too happy about my drama Nancy: Like I know what I did with Sian was bad but Nancy: Please, I do have some standards Nancy: What happened with you? I didn't even ask. What a cow I am Rio: Yeah, she's not a catch, whatever way you're swinging, sorry to be a bitch but you were first gurl and that's always gonna be a turn-off Rio: Oh nah, nothing major, well, it was very dramatic but over it whilst it was happening so I'm not bothered Rio: Curtis went with me and then decided to get all huffy and try and make me leave early 'cos I was 'dancing too sexy' or whatever Rio: when I wouldn't he literally left me there, considering he drove us over, he had the hotel key Rio: Cue mad rush trying to find a place to crash and a way back Rio: Safe to say he's chucked Nancy: Oh my god! There's no words for how out of order that is. What an utter prick! Nancy: Buster better have offered you my bed Nancy: I'll kill him if he never Rio: Oh yeah, he did Rio: Offered to pay the way back but I thought that was too far Rio: Between taking your bed and clothes, like, need to at least try and sort half of it myself, like! Nancy: At least he's not a total prick himself ALL the time Nancy: Remembering some of how he was raised now Nancy: Are you in London rn still? Rio: Yeah, I'd say we can give him that Rio: Will go to his head but what you gonna do Rio: I am Rio: Toying with staying for a bit but I'll defs get in more shit for doing that for going with Curtis in the first place so Rio: Should probs get the soonest flight back now Nancy: My bed and wardrobe are yours if you are staying Nancy: Did you see my mum and dad? Nancy: While we're mentioning being in lots of shit, like Rio: I appreciate it, Nance Rio: I did my best to avoid then, and succeeded, thankfully, not really the vibe I'm looking to give out to the olders like Rio: Buster didn't seem keen to talk to them either, so they may very well be on the warpath towards Dubo and you...Soz to confirm Nancy: Care to teach me some of your ways before they end my life? I'd REALLY appreciate it tbh Nancy: Fantastic. That sounds accurate Rio: Umm, get them drunk and they'll be sleeping as you sneak about like Anne Frank? Rio: ORRRRR, whilst they're mid-air, come back to London, ha Nancy: Get mum REALLY angry Nancy: Nice subtle nod to my gayness with the Anne Frank ref though Nancy: And you're definitely onto something with getting dad a drink Rio: Say you're coming to rescue me, I can be FAR more dramatic about this breakup than I'm really feeling Rio: edge of fucking tower bridge like Rio: of course, all bisexuals are upheld in the highest esteem in my household Rio: especially brave little jewish girls Nancy: Good plan, if I can be this dramatic about a non-break up then we can make this believable I'm sure Nancy: Take the heroics from my brother too, always great Nancy: I see the bed and clothes gesture and I raise you Rio: Everyone loves a bit of sibling rivalry put to use Rio: get us both off the hook in one fell swoop Rio: Only flaw in the plan is Chloe with the accent Rio: Going to have to work on that so she's outta the way by the time you get here Nancy: I'd suggest taking her to the bridge and pushing her off but I don't need to go to prison Rio: If you thought the gay jokes were bad now Nancy: Exactly Nancy: And nobody needs a rebound that badly, least of all me Rio: They say some people go to Prison for the roof over their head and three meals a day Rio: wonder if anyone has ever gone in purely for the pussay Nancy: As a vegetarian I feel I'd have to Nancy: If only casual sex was my thing. Wouldn't have got here Rio: Yeah, it ain't for everyone Rio: at least you didn't get to fuck her, THEN catch feelings Rio: that'd be even shittier like and what happens to so many girls in our year when they do the 'casual' thing Rio: no wonder they're being salty little bitches about it Nancy: But that way it wouldn't have been all in my head Nancy: Maybe they have a point, I don't know Rio: It wouldn't make this bit any easier Rio: the actual heartbreak shit Rio: the people being cunts, less so Rio: but they'll find any reason, someone else will be the target next week, like Nancy: I know you're right Nancy: And I don't want her life ruined so Rio: Yeah, but you gotta think about you and your life too Rio: She's fine Nancy: Don't rub it in, please Nancy: I feel like my life's over Rio: I know sweets Rio: but it ain't Rio: you'll just keep going Nancy: I know I will, but I don't want to. Like I know she couldn't love me but I still want her too Nancy: It hurts Rio: Its going to Rio: for a while yet Rio: revel in it Rio: how unfair it feels Rio: 'cos its not a sexuality thing, if you were straight or she was gay or whatever the fuck, when you feel like you love someone and they just don't back Rio: that's gonna hurt regardless of the how you got there Rio: its not just because she was a teacher, everyone's been there, like Rio: Promise Nancy: I wish everyone saw this how you do Nancy: You're the best Nancy: June too but he doesn't get this bit yet Nancy: Though he can appreciate the wonders this will do for my art Rio: Gotta suffer, might as well get paid for it Rio: or A's Rio: at the very least Rio: I don't know, Junior is so guarded, I wonder if he ever will, not that I wish that bit on him but you've gotta go through it so its better to get it over with really Nancy: Especially because my Irish grades are gonna take a dive Nancy: I think he will Nancy: He just needs the right one to fall for Nancy: I appreciate how that sounds coming from me rn but Rio: Oh the awkwardness of that first lesson back is gonna be Rio: I'll deffo come Home by then Rio: I hope so, I know he's not happy hiding who he is, so I don't think he's content being alone forever, like, either Nancy: Oh god please do. I'll need all the help I can get Nancy: He won't be. He's a catch. I keep telling him Rio: Pretty sure push it any harder and I'm being dragged back by my hair lmao Rio: Totally, he just needs to get a lil confidence Rio: Not a complete personality change but just enough to give him that push Nancy: We're working on it Rio: Yay! Shame we can't be real speedy about it, get him getting a man to distract all the attention from you like Nancy: That's okay I wouldn't wish it on him Nancy: I can handle it. Sort of Rio: Yeah you can Rio: You've got this Nancy: So our brother keeps saying. But he makes it we because he's everything Nancy: *your Rio: Y'all are cuties Nancy: If you could use your influence on my brother to make him bearable I'll be your best friend Rio: I definitely cannot make promises there Rio: He goes out of his way to be un Rio: but he's alright really, I think lol Nancy: I'll have to take your word on that Nancy: Until I talk to him myself Rio: Let me know how it all works out like Nancy: Definitely
