#to be clear im not saying novel lwj had no flaws or that hc is like an evil person it's just so funny to compare how they act as characters#I maintain hc is a fairly boring character and I think the way he treats other people is genuinely very offputting and callous#and I think I've spoken before about how he's one of the more juvenile aspects of the book#obvi I have many issue w novel lwj too but hc is such a dick to people unironically and it's so annoying#when it's glossed over. like jl got on her KNEES to thank him and he just ignored her#like xl being like 'hehe san lang you're so funny' does get olde after a point#it's cool that he provides shelter for abused ghosts but he doesn't actually appear to give a shit about them#lwj was also pretty petty and a bit of a dick but mostly only when drunk. man her romances are so unappealing when you zoom out#mxtx love interest tunnel vision strikes again#tgcf txp#mdzs txp
