heyy i've literally been on your blog for like 4 seconds BUT i saw some ships that i love, so - do you want to do a list of your OTPs from every fandom? partly because it could be fun for you, partly because i need more serotonin which i only get from finding new ships haha
omg absolutely! First of all, thank you for asking 💕
I just started writing and this ended up being super long *hides in shame* I hope you enjoy it ✨
I love so many shows and ships, so I'll list them all below but if you ask what my absolute favorites are, I'll just add "!!!" to the fronts of the specific ships that make my brain melt, bc of how fucking much I love them.
The number of ! indicates the amount of brain damage that ship has given me, which is directly proportional to how many hours I could go on and on about them as characters and them as a couple and how perfect they are for each other.
Alright let's do this.
I'll start with the classics, and then move on to lesser known ones:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Queer as Folk US - Britin (Brian x Justin)
!!!!!!! Harry Potter - Wolfstar (Sirius x Remus)
! Harry Potter (ot3) - Wolfstarbucks (Sirius x Remus x James)
Harry Potter - Jily (James x Lily)
Harry Potter - Drarry (Draco x Harry)
Harry Potter - Scorbus (Scorpius x Albus Severus)
look- I know jkr is problematic, which is why I don't give her money anymore. But fanfic is free and I grew up with these characters, I will not let go of them. I have SO MANY thoughts about wolfstar and the Marauders jfc I could go on for hours.
!!! BBC Sherlock - Johnlock (John x Sherlock)
And any adaptation of Sherlock Holmes tbh, the Guy Ritchie movies are also *chef's kiss*
!!!!!!!! Supernatural - Destiel (Dean x Castiel)
fair warning here: Destiel is my otp and I believe in endgame Destiel but as I've said before, Dean is my emotional support character, which means I ship him with basically anyone who is strong enough to lift him up against a wall 🤗 which includes but not limited to:
Supernatural - Denny (Dean x Benny)
Supernatural - Drowley (Dean x Crowley)
Supernatural - Dean x Lee
Supernatural - Dean x Lissa
Also, if you've never watched spn... Idk what to tell you, you're in for a wild ride. Because that show is BRILLIANT but ALSO and (I cannot express this enough) at the same time it is a trashcan on fire. If you've watched it, you know exactly what I mean.
Alright, let's move on:
!!!!! Shameless US - Gallavich (Ian x Mickey)
!!! Teen Wolf - Sterek (Stiles x Derek)
Teen Wolf - Scallison (Scott x Allison)
Teen Wolf - Allydia (Allison x Lydia)
Brooklyn 99 - Peraltiago (Amy x Jake)
Brooklyn 99 - Holt x Kevin
Brooklyn 99 - Rosa x Pimento
Welcome to Night Vale - Cecilos (Cecil x Carlos
Welcome to Night Vale - Michelle x Maureen
WTNV is a podcast, not visual media but if you haven't listened to it, do yourself a favor and do it now!!
Sense8 (ot3) - Hernando x Lito x Danny
Sense8 - Raj x Kala
Sense8 - Amanita x Nomi
Sense8 (ot3) - Raj x Kala x Wolfgang
Glee - Seblaine (Blaine x Sebastian)
Glee - Huntbastian (Hunter x Sebastian)
Glee - Brittana (Brittany x Santana)
Supergirl - Supercorp (Lena x Kara)
Supergirl - Karolsen (Kara x Jimmy)
The Flash - Thallen (Barry x Eddie)
The Flash - Westallen (Barry x Iris)
The Flash (ot3) - Westhallen (Eddie x Barry x Iris)
The Flash - Harmon (Cisco x Hartley)
Davinci's Demons - Leonardo x Lorenzo
... Aaaand, I think that's all I can remember for the fictional ones 🤔 some of these shows I haven't watched in yeeeears, but I thought I'd add them bc why not.
Now. That being said...
These next ones might be problematic. But I *do* actually ship some rpf... I KNOW SHAME ON ME.
Now, I want to make it very clear that I only engage in fan discussions, I read fanfic, and then I move on with my life. I DO NOT bring this up to the people involved, nor their families nor their friends nor their partners. And I hate when people do that. I know these are real people and not fictional characters so I don't harass them about this, nor do it bring it up to them in social media or their concerts or in any possible way.
I just enjoy my anonymous tinhatting with strangers online, and then I get off the internet, and go to work, and see my friends, and I move on with my life. I simply like the idea of these ships. I like to imagine, from whatever little information I have received about these people (based on what THEY themselves have made available for me and others to look at and overanalyize) I like to imagine that this people had been at one point or another romantically involved. But I honestly couldn't care less if they weren't. I'm just having fun reading fics online.
My rpf ships are:
Larry (Harry Styles x Louis Tomlinson)
Kaylor (Taylor Swift x Karlie Kloss)
Swiftgron (Taylor Swift x Dianna Agron)
and I guess for the sake of fairness I'll add:
Taylor Swift x Joe Alwyn (bc unlike some gaylors and bi-lors I DO believe they're together for real, and they make me believe in love 🥺)
... Aaaand that's it. That's all the people and characters I ship. 😬

I know you’re just using the Brittana point to show a “double standard” but is it possible,,,,,,, maybe,,,,,, Brittana just has more good moments that make people think the likelihood of them lasting is more realistic despite the really bad times, and Quinntana’s screentime can be summarized by violent behavior towards each other wirh very limited (as in maybe 3 genuine moments) kind moments to show they’d ever working properly in a loving relationship?
Friend... Ship whoever you want. Brittana was the main ship, Quinntana is a crackship. Of course one pairing got more screentime. That's not my point at all, and I don't know how else to explain it to you because you're doing it again. I've said time and time again that I agree Brittana made sense as the canon endgame here??? I adore them. I was just saying let people ship what they ship and stop throwing stones. When it comes to Glee, we're all in glass houses no matter what team we're on.
As for 'summarised by violence.' Ugh. Again, that's how you're choosing to look at it. Quinntana had TWO instances of violent behaviour (I'm not excusing this) then a f*cktonne of sweet background moments on top of those 'three instances' you're talking about. There are actually a bunch of moments in season three where I'm always surprised to see Santana holding hands/hugging/cuddling close to Quinn and not Brittany, not to mention clear signs of an off-screen friendship that was ongoing throughout season 4. So why can't we assume an alternative universe where Quinntana was selected as the main pairing, and were given opportunities to work through their crap like Brittana eventually were?
I mean... Faberry was the biggest ship alongside Brittana back in the day. If I start using the same kind of language you're applying to Quinntana right now, then I could very easily label Faberry as a toxic, emotionally abusive relationship because Quinn literally bullied Rachel for several seasons in a very extreme way. OH, and its violent too, because Quinn slapped her. Will I do that though? Of course not. Because that would be stripping away all the nuance of the relationship until I've created a narrative that allows me to slap an inflammatory label on it, instead of just going 'hey, I'm not personally a fan of that pairing but you do you' and moving on with my day.
Faberry authors pretty much always call out the problems with that pairing and build stories that show them working to be better people. The foundation is there to be able to do that with Quinntana too. Given that I seem to receive more Quinntana fic prompts than any other pairing lately, I'd say there are plenty of people out there who agree with me, and want to see those stories play out.
So, again *sigh* all I was saying is let people write their fics and their headcanons based on what we identify with and see developing within the show. Every relationship on Glee is problematic if you choose to see it as such, and every relationship on Glee is angsty and beautiful and pure if you craft the relevant headcanons and theories in order to make it so. The endgames are the endgames, I'm not mad about what we got. I'm just saying there were other possibilities there too.
I don't know how else to reword that.

u know the zimbio poll got me feelin nostalgic about older ships (have i rly done the great migration so many times??) and of the rly popular f/f ships on US tv i don't think we've ever been treated so respectfully as with Shoot.. like yea it was angsty and harrowing, but so was the show. amy and sarah just be having that chemistry and we were like "they in love" and the writers were like "dang u right", and it was the 2 female leads!! and the writers/fandom got on so well.. miss them
I don’t share the same opinion on the ending as a lot of the fandom, but that aside, you know, I think you’re probably right. I JUST finished posting about subtext vs canon ships and what Shoot was at the start, that particular evolving connection between two central women, has been such a mainstay of f/f shipping. That it became canon and in a way that respected the characters and the show fulfilled something that we’d been waiting such a long time for.
Yeah, going through other ships, let’s see, I know Brittana had that joke and then became canon, but that wasn’t after years of developing an integral relationship. Lost Girl had a ship introduced at the start that became endgame but there wasn’t the same buildup and there was the on/off nature (and plus, it was Canadian). Also, it is kind of important to this discussion that they did start off as an intentional ship. That isn’t bad, at all, in fact, the opposite.
I remember this as a small debate a while back, endgame ships vs unplanned ships based on chemistry. People were like, I don’t really care that much about endgame ships, give me something where their dynamic is just so good and their chemistry so undeniable. But that was mostly because people were realizing the endgame ships were the same old white m/f ships that often paled (lol) in comparison to underrepresented subtext ships. There were substantial f/f fandoms built on exactly that, Swan Queen, Bering and Wells, Faberry, aside from the big ones of the ‘90s and ‘00s (and earlier...Blair/Jo, anyone?). And also Shoot, until, one day, the writers went there, and with care, not simply a one-off or fanservice, they made it a part of the main plot. That was so particularly satisfying in a way I’m not sure people who weren’t part of old school f/f shipping can understand. To feel as if it’ll never happen, to know it, to have experienced that again and again and again, knowing all the reasons why it won’t. And then it DID.
And to be clear, I know that Doccubus wasn’t actually supposed to be endgame, it was always canon but only later became endgame, which is also very cool in its own way. But the jump from never gonna happen subtext to canon is still--OH. Korra! Remember that feeling? That’s what I’m referring to, lol. Hmm. Pam and Tara on True Blood also? I didn’t watch but I remember my dash celebrating and it’d been quite unexpected. Funnily enough, Gail and Erica on The Last Man on Earth is one of the only cases I can remember where two first season characters get together later on. But Shoot’s treatment, until the end, did stand out.
As much as I love that feeling, much of it comes from the belief that a f/f ship can never happen, which is not a great feeling. Ideally, I would love to see more intentional endgame f/f ships, with thought and care behind them, of course.
