I think there's something really poetic about people falling in love with heavily altered media despite it being a bastardized version of the original. Like people liking Glitter Force so much that they find out about the original version(Smile Precure), or people loving the 4Kids Dub of Tokyo Mew Mew(or anything 4Kids dubbed lets be honest lmao). It's just like "Even when you've been boiled down and simplified, I saw something in you that I love" And that's so sweet to me!

I know something similar happened to me with the Thief and The Cobbler, where I grew up watching the version that was on netflix for a while. The music numbers and animation the publishing company added in weren't great, but I remembered being so transfixed by the animation I loved it anyway, that when I found out about the recobbled cut I lost my shit. Like I said it's just very sweet to me all the ways people can fall in love with media lol
