CAN YOU IMAGINE. In an au where Rex goes back to his original timeline, he shows these subtle mannerisms of his PTSD that his friends can't help but notice (Avoiding doing the laundry, hates the dark, not looking at the laundromat whenever they pass it, etc).

So they all pitch in to subtly help him with those (Lucy and/or Unikitty doing the laundry for him, always turning on some sort of light for him, Metalbeard and/or Watevra blocking the laundromat from his view, etc).

Rex would feel SO guilty after getting to know and properly bond with Watevra after literally trying to murder her in another timeline (or at least I assume he did. That's kinda the vibes I got from the movie, but idk if that's true in your au. But then again, he was the reason for her breaking into pieces so does that count as murder???)

For Rex's friends, imagine finding out one of your closest friends who you thought was dead for years was actually alive and way different than what you remembered. And not only that, but another one of your closest friends actually knew he was alive and was actively talking to him, but didn't bother to tell you.

Hm.. actually, would they find out? If so, how? And what would their reactions be? How would they deal with it? How's Rex gonna deal with it? (Sorry for the bombardment of questions LMAO)

ALRIGHT MY AU TIME (WIP)

This is more of a Rex and Watevra-centered Au, mostly because I wanted to explore their dynamic after Rex was abandoned in Undar and proceeded to do everything in the second movie. And how Watevra took her 'dad's absence and presumed death, before meeting him again.

When she does meet him, he is nothing like how everyone described him (cause trauma), so this is also an Au that is letting Rex heal from his past mistreatment with the help of his kid that he tried to hurt in another timeline.

I guess the way this starts off is with Rex being back to the futuring to his timeline. There's gonna be that slight shock like why isn't he dead, but imma make sure he wakes up in the Rexcelsior with his Raptors, so he has that bit of comfort (How? I'll figure that out later) while he deals with the task of wrestling with his emotions from the failure of his revenge and the fact that Lucy actually came.

So, he decides to check out Syspocalypstar (After like maybe a month, he's not emotionally ready to do it immediately), 1. He doesn't really have anything better to do, and 2. He kinda wants to see what it's like considering he 'died' in the other timeline, and he was too caught up in revenge in his to see anything other than when Bianca was playing with his friends.

When he does get there, there's a lot of him just wandering around kind of being repulsed by the bright colors and sparkliness. Eventually, he does come across a statue of him, but it's when he was Emmet, and he gets a lot of mixed feelings seeing this statue. Because 1. It's showing him when he used to be naive and trusted everyone someone he's not anymore, 2. It means they cared enough to actually build it to remember him, and 3. They could've just built it as a might as well kind of thing instead of putting in any actual effort.

So Rex is just kind of frozen there in thought, and who comes along? His kid, Watevra pops in because she wants to visit her dad's memorial since it's the only real 'connection' she has with him outside of the stories and pictures his exfriends have of him.

She notices this dude who sticks out from the crowd a lot (But also there's not really anyone there) because he has the whole tough schtick that does still exist in the peace that came with the two systems coming together, just not at the intensity he's at.

Cue the 'Hey who are you?' Line from Watevra, because she would've remembered someone like Rex if he lived in Syspocalypstar. When they do make eye contact, there's this tension in Rex from having to deal with Watevra (his kid) on his first visit to Syspocalypstar.

Watevra almost instantly feels some kind of connection to this stranger that she just met, there is this bit of one-way conversation before she looks at the statue of her dad and compares it to Rex, seeing the resemblance before coming to the realization that OH, this is her dad.

There's gonna be mostly shock, definitely tears from Watevra as she hugs him, because her dad's not actually dead. Rex is mostly gonna be shocked because this is the first time he's really been hugged in years, but also that's his kid hugging him.

A sequence of Watevra spilling out a bunch of questions at him before they (Rex) decide to go someplace more private to talk since people are staring at their queen hugging a random stranger.

They have a talk with each other, Rex explaining where he was and what he did, and yeah Watevra is a bit surprised that this traumatized mess of a man is the person everyone told her about, but she still sympathizes and accepts him, explaining her side of the story. And Rex is still not ready to face his old friends, but he is willing to build a relationship with Watevra, and that's basically what the whole Au is gonna be about.

NOW this right here is like the first fic in the series that I'm planning to do.

What follows is a bunch of misunderstandings, Rex being hostile to his old friends and mayhem, and a wedding redo to make up for the rushed one five years ago, and this time Watevra's dad is actually here.

So yeah, I'm good to answer any questions anybody has about this Au, would love to be able to ramble about it some more. It's still in the early development stages, but I'm hoping to actually start writing it once I get my Undar fic out.

As the sudden arrival of General Sweet Mayhem and then the prompt kidnapping of most of Apocalypseburg’s remaining heroes put the entire community in shock, GCBC DID consider going out to rescue them, but stopped themself when they saw that the only other person willing to risk their life to venture into space was….. Emmet.

Not to discredit Emmet and his achievements in saving their realm and even befriending Lord Business, GCBC still feels like they’re on shaky ground in terms of developing a mutual relationship. They have some slight internalized shame of being on the ‘bad’ side, and still feel like they’re slightly shunned by EVERYONE, and still thinks that Emmet and his friends aren’t fully trusting of him. They don’t want to even be ‘good’ friends with Emmet, but they at least respect his presence and doesn’t mind helping him when they’re both exploring around the outer ruins of the city, every once in awhile.

Still, the idea of being stuck with him on a tiny spaceship in the endless void of space, under the constant looming threat of the Duplos, in which they are usually powerless against…… yeah no GCBC will absolutely NOT stomach that.

Ironically, they didn’t really mind Emmet’s supposed ‘immaturity’, as GCBC sees his jovial positivity as a good personality trait, and having some sort of light within the gloomy atmosphere of their ruined society isn’t that bad at all. Granted, GCBC kept this opinion to themself, not wanting to appear as ‘weak’, as being so happy-go-lucky was now severely looked down upon.

Plus, if Emmet AKA their real last ‘hero’ in Apocalypseburg, was to leave on this perilous journey, who will be left to protect the ruins of a once great city? It has already been lowkey confirmed in the “Welcome to Apocalypseburg!” set that GCBC STILL WORKS AS A ENFORCEMENT FIGURE, with him actively maintaining a jail and even posting up bounty posters for some criminals. Crime still seems to be a issue, especially considering how Apocalypseburg is literally just inspired by Mad Max’s worldbuilding, crime probably is at a all-time high 🤷‍♀️ Robbery probably is the most prevalent issue, as everyone now tries to fight over what bricks and other miscellaneous pieces they can find to try to just LIVE.

His pride in being essentially the only remaining working officer in Apocalypseburg, acting as the last bastion of a ‘normal peace keeper’, has simply gotten to his head. Leaving everything behind on what may have been a suicide mission in order to help some people in which they believed didn’t even see him as a equal, deterred him completely. (Well, Benny did treat him better than the others…..)

As the story goes on, GCBC could only look on in horror as Armamageddon occured, as they genuinely felt so helpless as their entire realm literally CRUMBLED into a storage bin. After this event, GCBC does now feels some DEEP regret that he didn’t accompany Emmet on his journey, sincerely believing that if they joined him, perhaps Armamageddon could have been avoided in the first place or that he could have diplomatically worked out a peace treaty with Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi (or straight up kill her, he has already enough blood on their hands)

He is however 100% oblivious as how to this was fate, and Emmet had to go alone in order to create the paradox which gave way to Rex’s existence, which in the long run will cause both Apocalypseburg and the Systar System to peacefully merge together 🥲 GCBC really cannot get a W at any moment in their entire existence, he is the most fucked character in all of the TLM series lol

The Apocalypseburgers are gonna realize just how much they fucked up. Once they realize just how powerful and angry Emmet of all people is, they're in for a.. time.

Yes, definitely! They def loved Emmet in a way, maybe they just didn't know how or want to show it. Like, they didn't want the others to think they were too 'soft' or 'weak' by showing actual emotions and affection.

So basically, after 2 or 3 years on Undar, a literal child crashes onto Undar as well. And at this point, Emmet is still just undergoing his 'turning to Rex process', so of course, he takes sympathy on the poor child. So for the next few months, him and the child just bond together. The child helps soften the pain of his friends, so while he still has trauma, he isn't that intent on getting revenge. Honestly, they were both just kinda content to stay there now, seeing as they don't get hungry or thirsty and they have each other, Undar's no longer as unbearable as before.

And it isn't until that a giant cockroach terrified the child out of their mind that Rex decided that Undar was too dangerous for them, and gains the willpower to finally move. Rex helps the child up, they both build a ship, and escape from Undar.

For a few weeks, they just kinda became wanderers. Exploring a planet here and there, to find food and maybe get actual human or even alien contact. That was until, during one of their planet explorations, they found another abandoned child. And of course, Rex adopted them as well. ..And eventually, it kept happening. Each planet they visited, there were always abandoned children. And Rex adopted all of them.

So yeah he has children now.
