woah! was that KANAN JARRUS walking down main street? i heard they’re not actually from ivy cove but come from STAR WARS. they’re 32 and live in SHOREGRAZE RIDGE but watch out because they can be INSECURE + HAUNTED but are actually COMPASSIONATE + DETERMINED. despite them HAVING memories, you’ll always think of HARD BEING THE SURVIVOR, BATTLE TIRED, HEAVY BURDEN FOR YOUNG SHOULDERS when imagining them.

A Long Time Ago...

Caleb Dume grew up never knowing his biological family. He was Force Sensitive, and his earliest memories had always been the Jedi Temple; he was happy there, and it was the only family he'd ever wanted. However, as the Clone Wars waged on, he was eventually taken as the Padawan of Depa Billaba, seeing combat when he was still a child. He had been with her and Clone Force 99 when Order 66 was given. As the other clones turned on his Master, she told him to run. He knew he was being chased by Hunter and Crosshair, though was unaware that Hunter's chip hadn't activated. Hunter reported Caleb dead, Crosshair reported him alive, and his fate was unknown. Kanan Jarrus had been a man just trying to get by. He never stayed long anywhere, only really getting to know people for a night. By Jedi cannot help what they are, and on meeting Hera and seeing the danger that Gorse was in, he stopped hiding. Zeb and Sabine joining the crew soon after, and on Lothel they met Ezra, who he quickly realised was Force Sensitive. With so few Jedi surviving at that point, Kanan took him on as a Padawan. The crew had always acted against the Empire, and eventually joined the Rebellion, though Kanan was never convinced that they were ready for a war against the Empire. On a Sith planet, they met Maul, who blinded him. Eventually, he learnt through the Force, that to save Lothel and his family, it would cost his life. Though he made the sacrifice, he died not knowing Hera was pregnant with their son.

Ivy Cove

Caleb's grew up in foster care, never really having a family. He didn't mind that, and instead acted more like an older sibling for the other kids that were there, not wanting anyone to feel lonely. For a while, he didn't take much seriously, working as a personal trainer, and tending to sleep around. That was until the car accident happened, leaving him blind, and loosing his job overnight. He wanted to close down, but Jedi cannot help what they are, even without remembering that, and he couldn't turn his back on people who needed help. Eventually he came to terms with what had happened and learnt to cope. Then the memories came back, including the memories of how to use the Force. He opted to start going by Kanan again, that feeling more like his real name then Caleb. He will still help people where he can, but right now he just wants to find the Ghost Crew.
