Ooo wait are your thoughts on the two boboiboy movies?
Wah, Nice one!
I've had nostalgic memories when I rewatched movie 1. Particularly because it was the last entry I followed before I went on hiatus. ... 8 years ago I think?
Whereas I watched the second one during my marathon session this year.
Due to 'my messed-up order of watching' this series, I ended up knowing big spoilers about The movie 2 and I forced to give up my 'anti-spoiler' act before I watched it. Kinda of a bummer for the general view, but you know what? It made the scene more fascinating to watch!
"Oh this is Retak'ka? THE Retak'ka?"
"No wonder why Adudu is so into martial arts now."
"So that's how Ice got his bow eh?"
"Oh Fu-Yes! The debut of Fusion Elementals!!!!"
ehem.
From a general technical standpoint, they stepped up their game drastically. Of course, it's for movies after all. They went bold for expanding the areas, improving the graphics, increasing action scenes, and also adding more music as well.
At the same time, they also upgrade Boboiboy and Kokotiam gang's power so it's making it a 'bit' op for the sake of spectacle. It's not that bad in a negative way, I understand that because the enemies themselves were hella strong as shit. (the first one used a black hole and the second one used all-in-one power hunger fest that could also destroy the galaxy. Logically the earth's supposed to be gone by now :/).
I loved what they did to the lighting and hue for both movies. it's like watching smash bros ultimate but in the movies(weird reference I know but hope you get the idea :/)
The details! Holy- IT'S SO PRETTY~~~
ehem.
Both of them were also establishing the expansion power of elementals and what they can do about it. The first one was the fight with all elementals showcased and the second one was the alternative way of fighting by combining two elementals.
Alsoooo both finally managed to properly introduce the one and only .... Boboiboy Hatless! :D
I'd say they had a fair share of hiding it perfectly well. Cleverly teasing the audience to grasp 'Why the hell do they keep hiding his hair with that particular angle?' Because... If I'm not wrong, Boboiboy was one of the characters that falls in the same category with Upin&Ipin: limiting the haircut for animation efficiency during the first production.
So when his hat does let off, It is always an impeccable scene to watch. That trick never fails to amaze me. (like Professor Layton's hat case :3)
Now I wonder how much screen time his hat is off for the movie 3? I'm sure it takes a lot more than the previous one since his 3rd tier is pure hat off(and dyed hair).
If I want to say from my opinion. Movie 1 has its standout over Movie 2 and vice versa. Both have ups & downs yet they are equivalent to each other. For instance: the timing to add their theme song was a bit out of place in movie 1 so the latter fixed that, whereas the Fang and Ying banter in their language was lacking in movie 2 when the former had this iconic scene (sound on recommend) :]
Oh speaking of Music, my god their theme songs are epi~~~c
I remember how hyped I was when one of my fav local band, D'masiv, created a credits song for Movie 1 AND Galaxy season 1. But heck all movie themes in order are wholesome af!!! 'Masih Disini' - 'Dibawah Langit yang Sama' - 'Fire & Water' are in my repeat playlist recently. So overwhelming that I actually cried? The montage during Fire & Water played was not a sad moment but heck I cried because it's soo touching for no reason.
Oh yeah, I forgot it's a family movie so they have rights to not make any deaths scene. I can understand why yet I'm still disappointed.
I cried. HARD when I saw Tok Kasa collapsed. It portrayed emphatically well and worked for new characters that was introduced a bit short.
Then, not long after that, we got this
(I guess they didn't want to do another httyd 2 moment. It's too painful for kids to watch)
So... There's my review. Honestly I don't know what goes on for movie 3. It could be anything after season 2. But if I may guess...
It's between father and son now...
#boboiboy#bbb#Boboiboy movie#Anyway I'm truly sorry kqizo#I got work calls and... Wasting time for making a proper gif#Holy f how does people do this???#Pls teach me T_T#Btw I still haven't watched Mechamato series#Wait till I finish my vibe with his son first#menjawab anon

2022 in (media) review
[Image description: A 3x3 grid of Garfield faces, the shadows across his face mimicking a grid of phases of the moon.]
Yes, yes, I do have a lot of monthly playlist music stats to share but also! I want to talk about other great media I enjoyed this year. I was tracking everything much more thoroughly as media review dumps on Patreon (this is before Comradery had locked posts) but that's kind of boring, actually! For both me and for you. So let's just look at the highlights - and graphs, I also have some data visuals, fun!!! That's fun.
This is a long post! I could have split it up but I'm not going to, sorry/not sorry. I like to talk about things I like (and I like to read about things others like, so I enjoy this bit of the year). But remember - there are graphs, so, I think worth it.
Movies
I've not been the best at recording what movies I've watched this year. To be fair to myself I half-watched many and I try to only write down those I watched purposefully. I saw a Tumblr tag game post that was "put your favourite movie this year into tags" but I couldn't pick just one. So here are the top handful of things watched for the first time this year, in no particular order:
Candyman (2021)
This was a great follow-up/sequel/successor to the original, which I love. Bonus nerd points in that Chase has documented some of the work that is seen in the art gallery.
Animal Kingdom (2010)
We started watching TNT's Animal Kingdom show ages back, it's a summer beach read of a show that ends up being about generational trauma and consequences, but is on the top level about heists and family. It ended this year and we finally watched the originating film, it is much the same themes but is less indulgent. Both Ben Mendelsohn and Shawn Hatosy are perfect casts for the character of Pope, and both are some of our favourite actors.
Shadow of the Vampire (2000)
Yes, I did partake in Dracula Dailyand in reading it remembered this film, which I finally watched after kind of wanting to watch it since it came out. I love meta stories! I love the casting! What a weird wonderful tale.
The Northman (2022)
I was hesitant to watch this much the same way I was hesitant to watch Eggers' previous film The Witch because the promotion for it didn't sell it to me. Where The Witch is funny, actually, The Northman is in truth a weird sad revenge tale, not a bombastic war thing. Also: Björk!
Nope (2022)
We got to see this at the drive-in and it is one of those movies that feels made for me, in a way. The creature design (John Dabri interview here)! The way we interact with animals! To look at cosmic horror and be like "I don't like that, thanks."
Bedrooms and Hallways (1998)
Full disclosure I watched this because I was looking into the filmography of a particular actor due to TV show brainrot and it was available on Hoopla. It's such a romp?! It's so very a British late-'90s rom-com with a really smashing cast. And also very much about identity and love and a particular vibe of being basically thirty.
Cyrano (2021)
It's a musical! (watch one of my fave songs here) It's a true-to-book adaptation, which means the ending is S-A-D. The cast is fabulous and I am grateful it finally got on VOD so I could watch it, as I'd been eyeing it since an announcement in 2021.
Favourite rewatches, whether they be something I watch with regularity or those seen for the first time in a decade-plus, in no particular order:
Manchurian Candidate (1962)
Remains gorgeous and tense and sad!
The Langoliers (1995)
I don't care if the monsters are corny I thought they were creepy then and I still do. What a concept! What is time!
Underwater (2020)
This underwater cosmic horror is almost a comfort watch at this point. I love!! Movies that are set in the confines of something in the depths of sea/space.
Willow (1988)
With the new show out, had to rewatch. Others might have been part of the Labyrinth/Legend divide of formative fantasy films but mine was Willow.
Velvet Goldmine (1998)
Another comfort watch, this one with my bff, who hadn't seen it before. It's such a key part of my DNA and it's a crime it is difficult to find.
Cruising (1980)
In looking up the year for this list I have learned it was a book first, so I'll have to look that up. This movie is heavy! I can't remember when I first watched it but I do keep returning to it.
Lathe of Heaven (1980)
This is a really fabulous adaptation of Ursula K. LeGuin's novel, and from public television, no less. I have a strong nostalgia for this story and it's one of those stories that underpin a lot of thought for me, so I rewatched it with Chase this year after he finished the book so we could enjoy it together.
Books
Did you know Storygraph does gorgeous little charts FOR you?! (if you're there I'm bzedan, as I am everywhere). According to Storygraph, I read 57 books this year, which would have been more if I hadn't had a very specific moratorium while reading The Locked Tomb series - Chase was reading them for the first time so I more or less read each book twice while he read them because I read too fast and he was also doing a lot of school reading. But also I sped through a LOT of Animorphs (finished the series) this year, which bulked the number.
I love that Storygraph charts ~moods~ it's such a vibe. Apparently, I read adventurous, emotional, dark and mysterious books the most. All the links for books here go to their Storygraph page, and for series, they link to informative pages.
[Image description: A pie chart of "Moods" of books read. The largest slices are: Adventerous, Emotional, Dark, Mysterious, Reflective. The thinnest slices are: Relaxing and Inspiring.]
This chart is very funny to me. Yes, I read one non-fiction book, it was Why Fish Don't Exist: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life by Lulu Miller, and it's great, big recommend.
[Image description: A pie chart of "Fiction/Nonfiction" of books read. Most of the pie is bright pink and labeled "Fiction (98%)." One very tiny slice says "Nonfiction (2%)."]
Storygraph has loads of other fun charts, but we'll have enough of those soon, so let me share my top five books this year that aren't from The Locked Tomb series:
Kitchen - Banana Yoshimoto with Megan Backus (Translator)
I’m very grateful a friend recommended this to me, what a sharp and full heart of a book it is. Loss and love and what we make of the two, mixed together with care.
City of Broken Magic Chronicles of Amicae #1 - Mirah Bolender
This entire trilogy, tbh, is CRIMINALLY under-read and represented. Think, magic rat catchers in a city that is straining under the restrictions of class. Found family, a great and fresh magic system, and characters that can be kind of dicks but you love them, the third book's ending made me CRY. And there is NOTHING on AO3 for it and I hate that I will have to make my own cake and eat it. I want several cakes.
The Route of Ice and Salt - José Luis Zárate with Poppy Z. Brite (Contributor), David Bowles (Translator), Silvia Moreno-Garcia (Contributor)
Whew, this is brutal and dark and angry and beautiful. So grateful it was translated into English. I talk about this take on Dracula a bit in this Tumblr post but here's the tl;dr - the sea is queer and haunted and free and it's so easy to be tempted even if you know it is your doom that tempts you.
A Most Wanted Man - John le Carré
This is a downer of a book but a good good thriller nonetheless. We then watched the film adaptation which was also very good and amazingly cast. It's a tense spy thriller! You either dig that or you don't, this one has some very depressing political twists to it.
Record of a Spaceborn Few Wayfarers #3 - Becky Chambers
Basically, everything Becky Chambers writes is gold and will fill you with hope and wonder even as it breaks your heart. Of the Wayfarers series, I think this one is my fave.
I read or finished three big YA or middle-reader (I have trouble distinguishing) series this year:
The Circle Reforged by Tamora Pierce, which continues the Magic Circle series into the pains of teenhood.
Animorphs (link goes to author-approved book downloads)by K.A. Applegate, which I will recommend forever, wow it is such a dark amazing funny, weird and gross series. They're fast reads too.
Making Out (now called The Islanders) which is like '90s high school soap TV, but books. Just candy and the candy I needed at a bad brain time.
In general big recommend of reading some books you loved or missed out on as a kid, they're so fast now to read and there is something comforting even about the sad ones.
TV
I don't track the TV I watch as it tends to be deeply background stuff, or things watched over dinner, but there are some definite standouts. For the first three-quarters of the year, the bulk of my day job involved a lot of awareness of television and what was going on television and what would be going on television and tbh I got a bit sick of it (my job still involves TV awareness but to a far lesser degree, still a bit sick of it)
Anyway, the standouts:
Our Flag Means Death (HBO Max, 2022)
Listen, listen. This was a thrill to my heart to watch. If you follow my chatter at all across platforms then you are aware I fell into the fandom joy for this show. You may well have muted the word on Tumblr due to me. It's a queer show! There's a non-binary Latine character!! There is a definite feeling of a play/the theatre to it due to the folks who made it and I am a sap for that. It's silly AND sad. It's fun. It's about love and identity and it's worth checking out if you haven't.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (AMC, 2021-2022)
I honestly can't think of a series that so perfectly performs its story over two seasons. Yes! A lot of miniseries are a single season, but there is a definite front half and back half to this show's run and that is part of what makes it work.
The concept, as best summarised by the creator in this great interview, "What if you have, like, a sitcom, almost like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, where the characters from Hamlet are on stage with Hamlet, and when they’re off, it’s those two talking to each other. What if it’s like that, but with a sitcom? Where, when the funny husband leaves, it’s suddenly very different, and it’s about the wife, and it looks like Breaking Bad or something?"
Yes! The main characters are grating and not perfect! I don't give a shit. Part of the thesis of this show is you shouldn't have to be an innocent to not be in an abusive relationship. Big CW in this show for gaslighting, btw. Handled well and whew the growth and changes of everybody's relationships across only sixteen episodes is a doozy. If you like dark, give this a try.
Bee and PuppyCat (Netflix, 2022)
I can't remember when I first saw Bee & Puppycat but I backed the hell out of the Kickstarter in 2014 and all of my device sounds are still the ones I got as a reward for doing so. The original run of the show was so weird and so good and so sweet and strange it rewired my DNA. I wanted more! But also I am patient, I know animation is hard and takes ages to make a thing let alone find a way to distribute and that just as it was worth waiting for the original full run to be finished it would be worth the wait for more. And it was! The sixteen "new" (some are remade versions of the original web series) episodes take a story I love and expand it, and don't skimp on the heartbreak or the goofiness. If you have any magical girl soft spots then watch this.
Also here's a list of shows I could go on about: Batwoman, Gordita Chronicles, FBoy Island, The 4400, Julia, Tokyo Vice, Derry Girls, Legendary, What We Do In The Shadows, Harley Quinn, Reservation Dogs, Corporate (rewatch), Rilakkuma & Karou, Gudetama, This Fool, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.
Music
Okay now: I made a playlist every month this year as a new kind of focus method. In the first bit of the year, I made longer playlists, like 70+ songs, which is around 5-6 hours. This was nice but also it meant it was more difficult to hear the whole playlist over the workday, what with meetings. As the year went on my playlists tightened to like four hours, which is a perfect amount for me. Oh, but numbers:
[Image description: A bar chart of "Number of Songs vs. Month" with the bars in shades of pink-purple. January and April show the highest numbers, with August and December the lowest.]
The average is about 65 songs a playlist and the median is 64 (the mode is 61, so really my gut guess early in putting together these numbers of 60-65 was pretty spot-on). These "shorter" playlists also leave me free in the afternoon to listen to other playlists and albums, after morning focus.
My playlists consisted of 311 artists, across 468 albums and 723 songs.
[Image description: A hollow-centre pie chart of bands titled "QTY." The colours are a gradient of rainbow. The top artists are: Carly Rae Jepsen (11.1%), Britney Spears (8.6%), Boy Jr. (7.5%), Santigold (6.5%), Matt Berry (5%), and Oliver Tree (5%).]
Although initially, I was like "I won't repeat songs," I was also like immediately "but I need this song again." Five songs ended up on three monthly playlists each and 48 songs were on two monthly playlists each.
However! Of those dupes, some were actually originals and covers (well, one is just two covers). But I think those count. Same song, different vibe. I put together a round-up playlist of songs that I had 2+ times on monthly playlists. The dupes are:
'Suspended In Gaffa' - Kate Bush
'Suspended In Gaffa' - deer scout
'Wuthering Heights' - Kate Bush
'Wuthering Heights' - The Puppini Sisters
'How Soon Is Now?' - t.A.T.u.
'How Soon Is Now?' - Snake River Conspiracy
'Dancing In the Dark' - Bruce Springsteen
'Dancing In The Dark' - Hot Chip
They ended up hanging together really well, just added in order of when they were repeated (so, a song played in January and again in March would come before a song played in January and again in April).
Link to the 2022 Monthly Playlist Faves here, and tracklist below:
'Chartreuse' - Boy Jr.
'Warm Blood' - Carly Rae Jepsen
'Meet Me In The Middle' - Boy Jr.

With New Years around the corner, and companies gearing up to guilt you into being a given value of healthy, throwing workout routines (and default workout playlists? hey YT music kindly f*ck off) and eating apps/calorie trackers - I just wanted to say a couple of things: FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT - if you are happy the way you are, f*ck them, f*ck all of them, you do you 💜
Second - if you do feel like you want to make a change, for the love of everything, take one thing I learned this year: do it slowly and sustainably.
I have rambles about my journey, I'm going to stick them under the cut if anyone is interested - I hope this doesn't come off as 'hey do this because I said so, or you need to' - this is just me sharing what I've learned this year as an ADHD person with brainweasels, that spends way too much time at desk working and nerding out over witchers. This is what worked for me, and maybe it might help someone else struggling like I did. - Much love, Nel 💜🐺
There's a TL;DR for this word vomit at the bottom.
I've been out of shape and overweight pretty much since I left high school and started in retail (and playing MMOs). I couldn't be bothered to do anything, and I just sort of gave up and lived with it for years.
At 26 (ish) I decided I'd had enough and went to a local boot camp. 3 days a week I murdered myself (seriously the first time I went I couldn't sit down for the entire weekend, my thighs refused) After a few weeks I felt better and the person leading boot camp talked us into trying a carb free diet. Cold turkey, no carbs for two weeks.
And I mean, hey, I lost a lot of weight. I was slim, and in decent shape. It was a good summer.
But then fall hit and at that point I had decided to go back to school. College, routine changed, and I couldn't began to even juggle and maintain 3 days of boot camp and diet that needed so much prep and thought work that I just...didn't.
By the end of college I was back at (and probably over) my original weight.
I didn't realize it then, and beat myself up so much for letting it slip, but I'd try to do something that wasn't sustainable for ME.
I'd try off and on to get it back. I went through WiiFit, 5k marathon training, RingFit, Fitness Blender classes. Heck even a personal trainer at the local gym I got a free set of sessions for from work. (which was then $1000 CDN a month after to maintain - yeah not happening).
None of it worked. I'd get hurt/sore, and give up within a few weeks (or get bored - shockingly this is sort of later explained by having freakin ADHD but I didn't know it yet.)
Earlier this year I finally got my ADHD diagnoses and the meds to help. It also sort of helped sharpen a few things into focus for me and better helped me determine that in order to do 'fitness' I needed something that was ever changing to keep my damn attention, AND someone to hold me accountable until things settled in.
One day my friend was reading a book and it mentioned a fitness site that was geared towards nerds. I checked out Nerd Fitness - and said, what the hell, this sounds too good to be true but let's give it a shot. It's all by app on your own time, no gym to go to, no appointments to make (my anxious brain and introvert self was already in love - and took out one of the major stumbling blocks I've always had with fitness - I did boot camp with my partner, and would never go solo.)
I signed up for the personal trainer out of the gate because I was ready for drastic measures and what the hell right?
You know what my coach had me doing the first week?
I aimed to eat slower, not less, just slower.
And I carried my 15lb cat around for a few minutes each day.
That was it. 2 things.
At first I was like, but what? I'm not doing anything remotely hard
And my coach was like, yup, but you haven't done anything in forever. We want to build slowly, build habits and make you sustainable long term.
And she did. We slowly added flexibility sessions. I didn't pick up a weight for almost 3 weeks. When I did, I was ready and I didn't hurt after. I wanted to do more!
When I get bored, with something, she switches up my routine without question. If I hate something we try (looking at you negative push ups) it gets replaced without question.
After about a month and half I was up to 2 cardio and 3 weight workouts a week. About 30 mins tops, when I had time in my schedule to fit them in.
I also have 'movement snacks' a list by my office door, and I snag one thing to do every time I leave the office.
I stack things into habits too - when I brush my teeth, I always do a few counter top push ups. Waiting for my coffee drip? Do a set of squats.
Nothing requires a long period of time, but it's sustainable and that's the key for me.
I got a puppy a month ago and it threw EVERYTHING into chaos. I was missing workouts and my sleep schedule is a fucking mess. BUT I still get in those counter top push ups every day and my coffee squats. I've made in through the chaos of new puppy and the holidays without completely shutting down and ending up back where I was. I dialed it back but I didn't stop. And now that the puppy is starting to be more independent and on a bit of a better scheduling I'm finding time again for full workouts and they're not murdering me.
AND on top of it all - I haven't counted a single calorie, a single macro. Sure, we talked about nutritionand for me the two big things that helped were eating slower, and eating more consistently throughout the day (I never used to eat breakfast - now i have just a shake, it's easy it's quick and it keeps me from binging at lunch/dinner). Overall I'm eating less but I'm still eating the same things - which is whatever the hell I want (and cake!)
At the end of it all, I've lost around 30lbs and am still going down. I feel better, I have more energy, but most importantly it's all sustainable for the long run. (and yeah sure, I don't have abs and arms like a witcher but I can still pick up my 50lb dog without effort and I can go up the stairs without getting winded lol)
TL;DR
Start any fitness attempt SLOW
Find things YOU can sustain long term and fit YOUR schedule
DON'T try to do something you know will stress you and make it harder than it needs to be
DO little things throughout the day
IF you can, find someone that has the spoons to help keep you accountable (even if it's just to send you a Shia gif once a day telling you to 'JUST DO IT')
o(* ̄▽ ̄*)o
Nerd Fitness is full of lovely people, even if you don't go for a trainer, they still have an app and a TON of free content to yoink ideas from that all follow these same basic ideas. I wish I'd know about them ages ago tbh.
At the end of the day you'll hopefully feel better and still have time to do whatever art/fic/game thing you want to do 💜
If you even want to chat, my DMs are always open 💜🐺
I hope you all have a new year that makes YOU happy!
#nel rambles#nel rambles a lot I'm sorry#fitness#fitness things#look i'm already annoyed by fitness ad bullshit and it's not even 2022 yet#rant#this is vomited in one go and not really edited#just fyi#inspired by that PT routine I've seen floating around already from the witcher#hell I looked at that and was like ew#if I'd tried that when I started I'd have died#and given up#and I don't want that to happen to any of you lovely people#just in case#this is not sponsored in anyway#i'm just yelling into the void about things I like again

— Mourning and Reborn,
Second part :
IF I LOSE YOU TO THE PYRE
(Dabi Pov).
“ I wish I was strong enough to make you stay or smart enough to realize you wanted me for who I was and nothing else. I miss you, but that's okay. Because I'm willing to wait for you for the rest of our lives. ”
My commentaries:
“ Dabi point of view was one of the first things I came up with. When I think about Shigadabi, for me it's always Dabi the one who needs to realize his worth in order for them to be together. Dabi always keeps people away from him, maybe because since he was a child, he has raised to be different or "superior". His communication skills are not the best either. So when it comes to relationships, I'd like to see him discover that his flaws are not what he thinks they are, but other stuff. Problems that are easier to solve, you know?
He's pretty stubborn too. If you want him to learn the lesson, you're gonna show him something that shakes his core. He doesn't deserve to suffer for how he was raised (learning through pain), but we can't do nothing about it. ”
* Hack : click the name of the song to listen to it and click the name of the artist to read the lyrics!
— WICKED GAME ‹‹ Ursine Vulpine :
This song is the core of the playlist. Why? Because we know something terrible is happening, someone lost someone they loved and someone wish things were different. Dabi opens up singing it because loving Tomura was never on his plans. He feels cheated and stupid, because he loves him anyway. And now he has to deal with ruining yet another thing.
— BAD DREAMS ‹‹ Faouzia :
Dabi finally accepts his love for Tomura, but he has a bad feeling about it. Every time he finds something beautiful, the world takes it away from him. He starts seeing it everywhere, a future when Tomura dies and its his fault. So what does he do? He pushes Tomura away, hoping Tomura is time to scape the mess Dabi's life is. He doesn't want Tomura to share his fate.
— HALF A MAN ‹‹ Dean Lewis :
After what he's done, Dabi needs to deal with the pain. This song centers on the way he sees himself, on his issues and insecurities. He doesn't think he's good enough for Tomura, because he's way too broke, way too damaged. He's wasting his days away like he has since he was 13 years old. He regrets not having Tomura by his side, but he can't let Tomura give him his heart.
— YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME ‹‹ Freya Ridings :
We have reached the point where Dabi realizes maybe he didn't act like he should. Maybe there was another way? He's really worried. He doesn't want Tomura to believe he's not worthy of love. He's ashamed, upset because he was being selfish. He should have thought about how Tomura would feel. Is it too late to show him how much he loves him?
— AGAINST ALL ODDS ‹‹ Phil Collins :
This is the peak of his tiny arc. Dabi decides he can put himself together enough to be good for Tomura, but... For that, Tomura needs to go back to him, after Dabi let him go. He makes his mind. He's gonna wait as much as it takes, he doesn't care if it's almost impossible. He's gonna wait for Tomura because if there's a tiny chance he could go back, even when Dabi doesn't deserve it, he's not gonna miss him this time.

Honey
Paring: Mina Ashido x reader
Synopsis: Where Y/n secretly crushes on her fellow classmate, Mina Ashido.
Words: 3.5k
youtube
Earthy warm, rich, with a hint of sour components along with heaviness of a cocoa.
The aroma of a simple yet delectable coffee wafted into the nose of the (hair color) as she inhaled its exotic scent. A warm feeling growing in her stomach region as she sipped said drink from her favorite one-of-a-kind mug.
She snuggled into her jacket as she sat outside on the chair that was placed on the deck. With the sun barely rising, the air was perfectly warm and gentle, flowers beginning to bloom and birds chirping, typical for spring weather.
As she sat there with a smile on her face daydreaming away the sound of a door opening brought her back to reality.
"Jeez it's barley 6:30 and you're already up? You're the opposite of Aizawa-sensei I swear, always up while everyone is asleep! Have you even eaten yet?" Said the red-head as he walked into the view line of the coffee-filled (hair color) as a chuckle escaped past her lips. "We've lived in the dorms for a month and a half and every single time you catch me out here it's always the same questions Kiri."
The gentle blow of a breeze passed by as the sound of a busy buzzing bee was faintly heard.
Kirishima smiled. "Do you have any plans for today? I'm trying to see if Bakubro, Sero and Denki are down to go to the arcade. If you're not doing anything then would you like to go with us?" He asked while sitting on the chair next to her. The girl thought for a few seconds before opening her mouth. "I would but I feel like reading today. Besides I'd rather let "the boys" have their fun and do whatever it is that you do."
The sound of an apple being bitten into broke the silence, crispy yet sweet. The second Kirishima swallowed he started talking yet again. "You know, "
"Hm?"
"Mina is also coming. You should take the chance to confess-"
"EH?! I have no idea what you're talking about Kiri! Where did you get that idea that I like her. No wait more importantly how did you find out? Ahhhh I practically just told you I do-" Having out her mug down minutes ago, the girl who was in the middle of freaking out continued talking in a fast speed as images of said female flashed in her mind, making her stumble around with her words.
The poor girl could feel her heart thump in her chest and felt all warm inside. If there's anything that could get her to react in such a way then it was simply by mentioning her crushes name. Oh how easy it was to get her all worked up.
"Woah woah calm down! Forget I said that alright. But seriously hang out with us, you need to get out more often. I mean how is it that you have such good fashion sense yet you never leave your room unless it's for food or classes?" He spoke while rubbing the back of his neck, a smile plastered on his face. The both of them stood up at the same time with him grabbing the apples core in one hand and the girls mug in the other before handing it to her. She nodded.
As they walked into the building, now dubbed as their home, they walked through the lounge past the dining room and into the kitchen. Clearing his voice while walking to the blue sofa he looked back at her, "We're gonna be leaving at around 12 to get lunch and then to the arcade that's in the mall. See ya." "Alrighty! See you in a bit."
•°¯'•• 🎀 𝒯𝒾𝓂𝑒-𝓈𝓀𝒾𝓅 🎀 ••'¯°•
Having been back in her room for just around two hours gaming on her counsel, she got up and looked at the clock on her pastel (favorite color) wall. 'Mm it's only 9:15. I should go shower now so that I have enough time to dress on my very own existence and to choose an outfit.' That means I have two hours and forty-five minutes, which means at least a good hour and thirty minutes to shower and that leaves me with an hour and fifteen minutes which then means I have a good thirty minutes to think about my life while sitting on the corner of my bed in a robe and forty-five minutes to get ready. Perfect.'
And with that she grabbed her towel, bathrobe, shampoo and conditioner, razor (only if you shave, if not then forget that), body soap, deodorant and comb. Taking a quirk look to see if she has everything, she walked to the bathrooms that she shared with the other girls and instantly began her shower. (If you're african american/any other person I didn't include and you wear a wig then instead of shampoo and conditioner you grabbed a shower cap to protect it. I heard it's not supposed to get wet but correct me if I'm wrong.)
•°¯'•• 🎀 𝒯𝒾𝓂𝑒-𝓈𝓀𝒾𝓅 🎀 ••'¯°•
After her shower she made sure to brush her hair to untangle it before it went back to being straight/wavy/curly. (If you're like me and you have curly hair then obviously you have to put curl smoothies, protection sprays, etc.) and young-life crisis thinking, she began to look through her closet. Before picking out two different options.
(Option 1)
(Option 2)
After a minute on deciding what to wear, Y/n choose the (1/2) option and quickly slipped on the clothes before putting on her shoes. Glancing at the clock and seeing that she only had ten minutes before they were gonna meet up she grabbing her phone along with earbuds/airpods and closed her bedroom door before soon heading towards the elevator.
Scrolling through her phone she clicked a song and began humming along to the lyrics.
By the time she arrived in the lounge, a new song started playing. Looking up she soon spotted the group and started to walk to them when she realized a certain person was missing. "Hey guys where's MinaAAA!" She shrieked as a pair of slim arms wrapped around her body and a head full of pink hair and yellow beady eyes peaked freon behind her. "Hey silly. I'm right here and ready too rumble!"
'Thump.. Thump.. Thump..'
Y/n's heart started to beat like crazy again once her brain processed what just happened. Before she could even talk someone started talking. "Let's get going you extras. I'm hungry and I don't wanna wait around all day." Ah yes, Bakugou. "On it bro." Denki replied as Mina stepped from behind me and walked up to Sero and striked a conversation with him. Speeding up a bit Y/n walked next to Kirishima just in time for Denki to start cracking jokes.
"Hey L/n why do bees have sticky hair?" He asked as Bakugou and Kirishima were listening. "I don't know, why?" "B-because they use honeycombs!" He shouted as he busted out laughing while Y/n giggled. "How do you idiots find that funny? Is your humor that broken." Bakugou muttered as he turned his attention to Sero's and Mina's conversation.
Feeling sorta left out from the group due to the fact that she doesn't exactly hang out with them as much (except for Mina and Kirishima), she took out her earbuds/airpods and turned on her music again. This time 'it's not u it's me' by Bea Miller and 6lack started playing.
Smiling to herself she began to sway a bit to the music as they neared the mall. As cliche as it sounds, music was always there to comfort Y/n. No matter what would trouble her, she'd always turn to her favorite playlist. Once they all entered the mall and headed straight to the food court she turned off her music and tuned in the the groups conversation.
"Hey L/n," Sero began as the girl turned her head to gaze at him and hummed quickly to show that she was paying attention. "What are you gonna get to eat?" "The only place I ever go to grab my food. I'm gonna head to (restaurant) to grab my usual." Nodding, he soon turned to Mina and quickly talked. "Mina since you said you wanted to try something new to eat you should totally go with L/n." "Holy cow dude! You're totally right." She said as she pumped her fist in the air and walked towards me. "Let's go L/n, I'm super starving." Grabbing my hand she started dragging me. "H-hey broski you're going the wrong way." She chuckled as the Pinkette stopped in her tracks, said a loud "Oops." And took the girl in the right direction. (Is Pinkette a word? Probably not.)
Once both girls ordered their desired meal and sat down, they began to eat in peace for a good few minutes before Mina's phone rang. Smashing the accept call, she out it on speaker. "Whafs uf-" She managed to say as her mouth was filled with food. "Hey Pinky, tell L/n that me and the guys decided to skip the arcade and headed to Game Stop and grabbed the new Cyberpunk game. We're currently on our way to the fast-food place near the school and then we're heading back to the dorms." A loud Denki said, as we heard grunts and insults from Bakugou from their side of the call.
'Wait wouldn't that mean that Mina and I are now alone... Is this considered a date? Of course not. As if she'd even like you.' She thought as she then asked Mina why they suddenly decided to switch their plans so suddenly without saying a word in the first place until now. Without a word the girl hung up the call and continued eating.
"N/n you know that American movie where the princess and prince turn into a frog for the whole movie and then they fall in love and miss then poof, they're human again?" Mina asked breaking the silence that once stood there. "Hm? Oh yeah! 'Princess and the Frog'. I watched it before. Sucks how African Americans finally got recognition from Disney and instead they get bullshit since the two main characters are frogs for three/fourths of the movie!" The (hair color) shouted angrily as she stabbed her food. Laughing at the girls reply, Mina leaned forward in her seat. "You know that dessert they show in the movie a lot? Beignets? I wanna try one so bad." Both girls sat in silence as they got lost in each other's eyes.
'Thump.. Thump.. Thump..'
Feeling her heart flutter, her gaze shifted back to her food. "How about we buy the ingredients and make it? I made it once for a school fair and everyone seemed to like it. Only if you're down of course!" "Wait for real? Like for real real? Big bet let's hurry up and eat!" And with that the Pink haired girl began scarfing down her food, cho.king a few times.
Once they were both done and cleaned up after themselves, both girls left the area and walked to the supermarket. The duo sparking a conversation about their hobbies and interests, soon made it into the supermarket. Walking down aisle after aisle grabbing ingredients left and right, Mina suddenly grabbed Y/n's hand. "Since it's Saturday me and you should totally have a sleepover in my room. Let's go grab more snacks!" And just like before, she dragged you out of the aisle and into the candy and chips one. 'My poor wallet.' Y/n thought as she silently cried. 'Then again if it means I get to hang out with her more ... Ahh! I need to be more social with her. I mean we do talk a lot but I get so freaking flustered and it messes me up. Then again at least I can talk to females unlike Midoriya. Ha in your face!' Feeling pumped the girl grabbed the snacks that were occupying her friends arms, shoved them in the basket and speed walked to the check out line, payed for everything and with both girls holding two bags in each hand they soon began their journey back to the campus dorms.
•°¯'•• 🎀 𝒯𝒾𝓂𝑒-𝓈𝓀𝒾𝓅 🎀 ••'¯°•
Entering the dorms, both females headed straight to their rooms and quickly changed. Mina wearing blue shirts with a yellow shirt while Y/n wore (f/c) satin shorts along with its matching tank top.
Both now in the kitchen with aprons on, they took out the items they brought for the beignets and placed it on the counter. 'MISS YOU!' by CORPSE was blaring from Y/n's phone as she bopped her head and hummed along to the lyrics while she added the warm water, sugar and active yeast in a bowl and whisked it while Mina measured the other ingredients, which Y/n soon regrets for the face that a mess of flour was all over the counter.
After mixing the rest of the ingredients in the watery liquid and letting it set on a lined baking sheet, Mina took out the fryer and added oil so that it could be ready for later. "Hey n/n can I play a song?" "Of course silly. I wanted to change the song anyways." Laughing like a maniac, Mina grabbed the phone and quickly typed away before placing the phone back on the counter.
"Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead"
The voice of both Smash Mouth and Mina's rang out in the air as the girl started singing the lyrics. "Heyyy you should sing with me! Come on." She said as she twirled around the kitchen floor. Giggling as she put the bowl filled with the dough in the fridge, she began shouting the lyrics right along with Mina.
"Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow"
Now moving her head to the beat, both girls grabbed each other's hands and began dancing like crazy with not a care to the world, swaying their hips side to side as they sang the next verse with all their heart.
"Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold"
As they continued singing, they began to clean the dishes and put most of the ingredients they wouldn't be using anymore away and took out a pair of tongs, paper towels, powdered sugar and honey from the cabinets. After a good 30 minutes past Mina turned on the fryer, the familiar 'click' of the knob sounding. Taking out the bowl from the fridge, Y/n placed the soft, glutinous dough on the now flour dusted counter and began following it out with the rolling pin until it was a good quarter inch thick and began to slit the doughy flesh making two inch squares just as Mina grabbed a few pieces and dropped it into the hot oil.
As time went by, they were finally finished frying. All they had left was to dust powdered sugar and drizzle honey to it. The second they did so, they took half the batch with them along with a few drinks and the snacks they brought and went to Mina's room. Closing the door on their way in the brightly pink room, they sat down on the bed and hopped on Mina's laptop to watch 'A Slap On Titan'.
"Armin had broken the silence as the video zoomed to the top of the wall, the starry night sky coming into view. "Do you ever with that humans could photosynthesis?"
Eren surprised with the sudden question, instantly replied. "What? No."
"I do... I think it'd be cool to be a plant." The scene then changed to show the Survey Corps coming back from a mission."
Liquid shooting out of her nose, Mina laughed as she grabbed a tissue and wiped her face, watching as Y/n pressed a pillow against her face to muffle her loud laughter. The now chuckling girl took the pillow from her face and noticed Mina's smile that was directed at her direction. Shooting back a toothy grin, she got lost in her eyes yet again.
'Ah jeez she saw me laugh... She looks so cute.'
"You know the beignets were really good." Mina said as she scooted next to her and leaned her fuzzy head on the girls shoulder. "You think so? I hope the others enjoyed the ones we left for them. I'm so happy we got to spend today together! I would have never expected this to happen ya know?" 'Play it cool Y/n. This is no big deal at all, she's probably just a bit exhausted from all the walking and baking we did earlier. Yeah, that's right-'
"You know, I'm the one who told the boys to leave us alone and to head back to the dorms."
That caught her off guard.
"Excuse me?"
Humming to herself, Mina life's her head slightly to look at the (eye color) girl. "Listen silly, I know when it comes to academics I'm not exactly smart, but when it came to you it was easy to figure you out." Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, she urged the girl to continue talking. "I know you like me." Y/n's breathing stopped for a second, her heart beating rashly against her chest. How was it possible that the girl she's secretly liked from a distance knew? "Listen I-" She was cut off as a pair of soft pink hands covered her mouth.
"Hold up! Hear me out before you start talking. I sorta found out a few weeks back when I overheard you tell Iida about your feelings. Ever since then I confronted him and I made up this plan for both you and I to hang out alone. Like a date but it's not a date since you wouldn't know? Ahh anyways after I came up with the plan I began noticing how you'd act completely normal around the other girls, but when it came to me you'd barley mutter a word, despite you being super-duper confident." Y/n felt herself breathe again as she stared at the girl, her eyes now filled with curiosity and her head amused at the girls statement. She took the words to heart and found it to be true when she said she'd act differently around her. I mean how could she not when her heart would beat fast, her stomach flutter in nervousness and her brain would completely shut down on her.
"So wait... You like me?" She spoke slowly to make sure her voice wouldn't just randomly give up on her. Now sitting up straight, the pink haired girl nodded as she shyly smiled and rubbed the back of her neck. "I do."
'She likes me..'
The second her brain processed the two words, she locked eyes with her and then shut them down before slowly leaning forward. The feeling of her plump, powdered sugar dusted lips faintly against hers before both girls lips soon meshed into one and began harmonizing as if creating a symphony. It felt passionate and intense, yet delicate and sweet.
Sweet like the honey from the beignets they had moments ago. The floral yet earthy taste now onto her very own lips. Deliciously golden and wild. The strong fragrance drifting slowly to her nose, similar to a white dandelion falling slowly to the ground after being blown by the wind on a vibrant, sun-filled day.
They both soon pulled away, gasping a bit for air. Y/n felt her body get warm as she realized what just happened. "I like you, Mina. A lot. And I'm glad you like me too." She finally confessed. "Finally n/n, I've been dying to hear you say that. Now then let me ask you this, will you be my girlfriend?" Mina asked, her eyes shining as bright as a star in the dark. Y/n leaned forward and kissed the girls nose before speaking. "I'll be happy to be called yours," Both girls soon in each other's arms, held one another until she spoke again.
"Out of all the pretty girls in this world, I'm glad to share this space with you."

Salem Nights
Dean x Reader
Warnings: fluff, smut
A/N: I really enjoyed this! Hang in there folks!
The tapping sound of keyboards and swishing of papers filled the bunker's library. There had been zero cases in over a month and now that it was October, your were sure to find something. The scary movies weren't cutting it anymore, now you needed something real.
"I've got nothing," Dean huffed and threw the news papers onto the table. Sam's expression the same. "Maybe there isn't..."
You threw your hands in the air shushing the room. "I think I found something," your excitement boiling. You giggled and showed the computer screen to Sam and Dean. "Supposedly, there was a siting of a witch in... wait for it.. Salem Massachusetts. Every year, two weeks before Halloween, some young girl goes missing an' you wanna know what everyone says about all the victims, they were last seen walking past the main cemetary after visiting the local historic sites."
"Wait a minute," Sam laughed. "This could be any story someone made up and Salem is known for it's 'spooky witch stories'. Why does this excite you so much?"
"Sam," you squeaked and looked at Dean for help, but finding the same confused brow raise. "This is Salem we're talking about! Have you never seen Hocus Pocus? Come on dude, I know the two of you are getting restless just as much as I am. I don't ever complain about going on the cases that you guys choose. Please let me have this one!"
Dean rubbed his hands across his face before a smile spread across his lips. "The kid's got a point," he said and looked towards you, your eyes looking at the table after hearing the nickname. He only used it because it annoyed you. You put your feelings to the side for a minute and looked up to find those beautiful green eyes on you. "All of us will go crazy if we sit here any longer. I'm sure we can find some activities to enjoy while we are working."
You couldn't hide your excitement any longer, jumping up and walking up the library steps. "I'm going to pack my bags," you laughed and raced to your room. "This is going to be amazing," you screamed over your shoulder.
"We leave at three," you heard Dean's voice echo.
...
The next morning you woke up to Baby's engine purring. "Rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty," Dean said and caught your tired eyes in the mirror. "I was starting to wonder if you were going to sleep the whole way. This is your trip after all."
You laughed and sat up further in your seat looking between the boys. "Ya know, Dean, you could just wake me and tell me to get in the car. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you like carrying me when I am still asleep." You smiled your best smile, running your hands through his short hair.
"Yeah, yeah," Dean blushed and fiddled with the radio, trying to distract himself from your touch. He finally found his classic rock station and the last advertisement was going off, followed by the tune of a familiar Halloween song.
"Oh no," Sam and Dean groaned. They knew you would be singing in a heart beat. "This must be some special playlist or something they are doing," Sam sighed and sat further into his seat.
You couldn't help but giggle and started to sing the first verse. "I put a spell on you," you leaned into Sam bumping his shoulder. "Because you're mine," you slid your ams arcoss their seat now nudging Dean. For a split second he found your face, his tongue slipping past his lips to wet them, until his wondering eyes found the road again. The fall colors outside the Impala windows made his eyes and face seem brighter. He was showing his age in the yellow and orange light and you shivered.
Sam looked at the two of you like you had went crazy. "Wh.. what Sam? Can't keep up," Dean cleared his throat trying to adjust his stiff jeans the best he could. "I put a spell on you," Dean hummed quietly.
"This is going to be a long trip," Sam rolled his eyes and looked out his window.
...
The Impala rolled into town as the sun was setting. You couldn't believe how beautiful this place was. The old buildings from left to right. You couldn't hear the conversation from the back seat, but you could have sworn Sam said he had seen the word 'witch' at least five times already.
Dean pulled into the first hotel as soon as you got into Salem. "Maybe once we get settled we can start one of our tours," Dean looked at you as you made your way to the front office. "Two rooms, please," he smiled at the clerk. The girl behind the counter typed something into her computer and handed Dean the keys, one for you and the other for him and Sam. Oh, how you wanted to be sharing that room with Dean.
You were happy to find that your room wasn't but two doors down and not across the hotel from the guys. A blast of warm air comforts you when you step through the door frame. There was nothing special about the room, but you did smile at the fall colors that decorated the room. Maybe you weren't the only one who thought Salem would look weird without them.
Once you threw you things down on the table the small room had to offer, you checked you hair and makeup you did on the ride there. "As good as it's going to get," you smiled and twirled your ponytail. You jumped when the sudden knock at the door pulled you from your thoughts.
"Coming," you sang and bolted for the door. Before you, the two Winchesters stood. "Ready," you asked and stepped outside.
"Hey, I spotted this shop right as we came in. I figured we could check it out first," Dean smiled at you and your knees almost buckled. Did he really see the store and think about you?
...
The three of you stopped just outside the shop door and looked in different directions of the store. The wood on the building was stained from years of weather, hex bags hung on the shutters and small signs were tapped on the windows. "On sale. Cast a spell on any friendship jewelry," Dean read and laughed. "Hey, what if I buy you something and you buy me something and we see what the 'spell caster' has to say about us?"
"Great," muttered Sam. "I'm going to find us something warm to drink. You two go and geek out."
"You're on Winchester," you giggled at his offer and walked through the tiny room before waving goodbye to Sam. The smell of sage hitting you fast, sending you and Dean into coughing fits. It was almost too funny. "I'll take this isles," you pointed at the men's jewelry. "An' you take that one. We meet at the palm reader's table and then our first tour," you ordered.
It didn't take much convincing Dean and you hummed to yourself looking at the beaded jewelry. You were admiring a beautiful hand crafted watch when you read the note at the bottom of it's box. Watch your soulmate fall for you. "Sounds cheesy. What the hell," you laughed and put the cover over the box.
When you found your way to the palm reader's table, you spotted that familiar leather jacket and a calmness in those beautiful green eyes. Apparently Dean didn't want you to see what he picked out for you because his box was closed too.
"Next," you heard the gypsy behind the booth say. You and Dean slid in across from her and smiled at the older lady. "Oh, I know just the spell for you two," she smiled and her dimples showed for a split second.
Dean made a nervous glance towards you and you saw his hands shake. You bumped into his shoulder playfully like you had in the car, his smile reaching his eyes. You hadn't heard her spell end and the small lady cleared her throat for your attention. "That'll be seven fifty, doll face," she said and Dean fumbled for the change. "One more thing," she added. "Before the sun completely sets, before you wear your jewelry, you must pass the old Witch House or the spell doesn't work."
With a quick goodbye you and Dean made your way out the door, finding Sam outside with three cups of cider. The blast of cold air hit your nose and cheeks in a matter of seconds. “Damn it, it’s cold,” Sam mumbled before taking a sip of his apple cider. “The two of you can have this. I’m going back to the hotel to research.”
You and Dean giggled as you watched the baby brother scoot between tourists on the busy street. His head ducking every sign that hung low and his ‘I’m sorry’ to everyone he bumped into on the small sidewalk. “Hey, maybe we should hit that witch house first like the lady said,” his eyes finding yours again and he reached for your free hand with his. “In case we see someone or something trying to get you,” he smirked when your eyebrows raised at his touch.
“I like the sound of that, Winchester.” You smiled and gave his fingers a light squeeze before wondering further down the busy street. Leaves were falling and swaying in the cool breeze all around you, and the bright shade of the sun made the small town glow with its orange and yellow beams. Your eyes caught sight of the witch house tour sign outside a iron gate covered in the thickest of vines and leaves. “Well this is it. It’s more beautiful than what I was expecting,” you let out a deep sign and turned to Dean. You were a little shocked to find his gaze on you instead of this house.
“Mmhmm.. I have to agree,” he smiled and brushed a stray strand of your hair behind your ear.
You were caught in each other’s stares and blushes when a small woman with a slim figure walked up to you. “Will the two of you be joining the tour tonight,” her voice chirping when she spoke and you nodded yes, not trusting your own voice to speak. “Right this way, then.” She smiled and gestured towards the larger crowd. You looked at Dean one last time and nodded at the group to join them.
“Before we go in there,” Dean smirked. “Do you think we can exchange our gifts now,” he asked and his face lit up even more.You had never seen the hunter before you so happy about something so small.
“Okay, Dean. Close your eyes.” You watched his eyes flutter and adjust to the movement before you pulled the small box from your bag and took the top off. The glass clock shining in the sun light. “Alright, open.”
There was so many emotions that crossed Dean’s face in that moment, you couldn’t tell if he liked it until he gave you his best ‘ Dean Winchester’ smile. “This is beautiful handwork, Y/N! I love it, thank you,” he licked his lips and gave you his wrist to wrap the band of the watch around it. You smiled when a thought about dressing Dean Winchester crossed your mind.
“My turn,” you giggled and put your hands over your eyes like a little kid.
“Okay, open,” Dean’s voice almost a whisper. You put your hands down at your sides and then they came to your face, covering your mouth. The dainty necklace swinging from Dean’s fingers. “I know you love fall so much, I wanted you to have something to remember tonight by. And I know you like the color red..” he trailed off when he caught your blush, staring at the little red pumpkin on the small chain.
“Dean this is the sweetest thing. I love it so much.” You turned from him and pulled your hair over your shoulders, waiting for him to drape the necklace in its place. He turned you around to face him when he was through. “Come on, let’s not keep them waiting.
There was more to the tour than history and the chill in the house. There was a small tension that lingered throughout the group, gasping and humming to the neat information that went through one ear and out the other. You stopped in the large hallway of that old house, the floors creaking beneath your feet when you swayed back and forth. “Dean, did you find something,” you turned to him and his face lit up before pulling you closer to him.
“Yea, I think I did,” his eyes reflecting from the glow of the sun through the large window in the room. “An’ she’s been beside me this whole time,” he said before his lips met yours. His fingers drew slow circles into your cheeks, his tongue licking your bottom lip just before exploring your mouth. Dean’s lips were so soft and smooth and all you could do was feel. Feel him all around you. His weight shifting on each foot before breaking the kiss.
“The spell,” you said in realization before kissing him again. His hands roamed freely around your waist, up your back, and through your hair. You squeezed your legs together, trying to fight that sensation there and losing. All you wanted was Dean. When you stepped back again you saw the many faces from the crowd you were with and they started whistling and clapping for the two of you. You flashed a smile towards them and back at Dean. “Let’s get back to the room, handsome,” you whispered before leaving a kiss on his pink nose.
The walk back to your room was pure torture and when you slipped through the bedroom door and heard the door slam shut behind you Dean had you pushed onto the bed. The warmth of his body over yours all too real. His breath tickling your neck from the light kisses he left there. Dean’s fingers grazed down your thighs and to your shoes, removing them from your feet then his as well. When he crawled up your body again you were pushing each other out of every layer of clothing until his naked body hovered over yours. He looked into your eyes before leaning in close to your lips again. “Y/N, are you sure you want this,” he asked brushing your hair behind your ear like earlier that day, trying to find any hidden discomfort.
“Dean,” you pleaded and ran your fingers through his hair and down the center of his neck. You watched him lean into the touch there. “There has never been a day where I didn’t want this.” You watched the small smile spread across his face. Dean found your lips again, his teeth pulling your bottom lip and letting it pop back. His hand held your wrists above your head and his other hand spread your legs further between the two of you. You knew Dean was tall and strong but you never guessed he was this soft and sweet. His lips never breaking from yours. Your breathing faltered when you felt his fingers move in circles over your clit. The pressure building there. “Dean,” you moaned into his mouth and arched you back off the bed.
Dean’s fingers slowly made his way to your dripping heat and he teased you there with a bitter sweet back and forth motion.He took his time and watched you adjust to him. You had watched his hands for years on the job, wondering what they were capable of. Now you were in the middle of closing yourself around them taking in two knuckles at the same time. “You’re so wet and ready for me, sweetheart,” his voice sounded so hot, and his fingers still pumped in and out of you causing you to scream out and hit your high. He let you ride his hand until you came down, leaving small kisses from your shoulder to your lips, dropping your hands.
Running your hands down his chest and past his waist, you felt his breath hitch when your fingers began to wrap around him. You gave him a few pumps before smearing the precome on his tip down his member and over the vein that ran on the underside of him. “Do you liked that baby,” you cooed in his ear when you felt him come down from spilling in your slick fingers.
You felt Dean tease your folds again before his tip eased through you. The stretch was sinfully sweet and the breath the two of you let out in unison turned you on even more. This seemed so right with him. The twitch between your legs pulled you from your thoughts and made you gasp out loud, leaving that comment and the case you were there for behind.
…
That’s all for now, y’all! Please let me know what y’all think! All mistakes are mine. Like, share your little hearts out! Annnn Happy Halloween! ❤️💋

Everything’s Reminding Me of You - Part 3 (Logan X MC, Colt X MC)
Book: ROD
Pairing: Logan X MC, Colt X MC
Rating: NSFW/18+
Summary: As Gabi drives off to college alone, she can’t help but think about the two loves she left behind. This is Part 3 of 3
Song Credits (In order)
1. Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt 2. Love You Goodbye - One Direction Spotify Playlist (includes songs from part 1 and 2)
Word Count: 3153
Two days of driving down, and one long day to go before Gabi reaches her final destination. Despite the pain of having nothing to do but relive all her recent memories, she’s feeling lighter and more hopeful today than she has in a long time. She’s ready to let them go and start fresh. Well almost. She’s kept a couple songs for today. Ones that remind her of her goodbyes to them both. After driving for awhile, she’s ready and cues up the first song to play.
~~~
Colt dropped Gabi off in front of her house after saying goodbye. As if that wasn’t hard enough, everyone was gone, just like that. She hadn’t even had a chance to say goodbye to Logan and didn’t know if she would ever see him again.
She turned to walk up the path to her house when she heard her name being called, and she would know that voice anywhere.
“Gabi?” Logan stepped out from the shadows.
“Logan!” I’d thought you’d left.” Gabi ran up and threw her arms around his neck.
Logan hugged her back in his strong arms and kissed her on the forehead. “I couldn’t. Not without saying goodbye.”
They stayed there motionless for a long moment, neither wanting to be the first to break the embrace. “What will you do?”
“I’m...not sure.”
“You know, you don’t have to leave. You could stay in L.A. We could find a way...” Gabi was desperate not to lose him. She would have given up school, gone anywhere, done anything, if that meant she could stay with him.
I know your fears and you know mine / We've had our doubts but now we're fine / And I love you, I swear that's true / I cannot live without you.
Logan looked contemplatively up at the sky. Gabi followed his gaze and at that moment, a meteor streaked orange across the pitch black canvas of the night. “I lived my whole life on the run. From foster homes, from police, from gangs... I was always willing to walk away and never look back.” He looked back to Gabi.
You touched my heart you touched my soul / You changed my life and all my goals
"But I thought I was finally done running. I thought I’d finally found something worth fighting for. Worth risking it all for. But now the feds are after us. And every moment I stay puts you in danger.”
And love is blind and that I knew when / My heart was blinded by you
Gabi frowned. “What are you saying?” She already knows the answer. She could see it in his face, hear it in voice, but she was holding onto and last shred of hope that there was any way they could be together.
“I'm saying that if I really care about you...” He paused and took a deep breath, as if to muster the courage for what came next. “I have to never see you again.”
Did I disappoint you or let you down? / Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? / 'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun
“That’s not true.” Gabi shook her head, unwilling to believe it.
“We both know know it is. I have to walk away.”
Gabi stomach sunk, and it was like the ground fell out from underneath her. It was all she could do to keep herself from completely breaking down. Logan inched closer and Gabi fell into his arms, resting her head in his chest. They swayed together as if there was music only they could hear. “I don’t want to let go.”
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile / I've watched you sleeping for a while / I'd be the father of your child/ I'd spend a lifetime with you
“Me neither. Man, I really get it now. It’s amazing how much life makes sense when everything hurts.”
Gabi tilted her head back to look up at him. He smiled, trying to lighten the mood but Gabi could see his eyes glistening in the moonlight.
“Logan...what am I going to do without you?”
“Well , for starters, you’re going to get some sleep.” Logan chuckled but Gabi was in no mood to laugh.
“Logan, I’m serious. I...don’t know how to go back to the old me.”
“Then don’t. Be the real you. The one that was always waiting to come out.”
“That one doesn’t know how to be alone.”
“She won’t be.”
“Where will you go?”
“Guess I’ll see where the road takes me.”
“And you won’t come find me?”
It may be over but it won't stop there/ I'm here for you if you'd only care
“I can’t, Gabi. But know that every time you look up at the stars, I’m somewhere seeing your face in them.” Gabi covered her face with her hands as hot tears stung her eyes and Logan stroked her hair. “Hey, hey.. don’t cry over me. You’ll forget all about me soon enough. I was just a rock in space lucky enough to burn up in your atmosphere for a moment.”
And as you move on, remember me / Remember us and all we used to be
“No Logan, I’ll never love someone else.” She truly couldn’t imagine how she would ever get over him.
And I love you, I swear that's true / I cannot live without you.
“Yeah, you will.” Logan smiled softy. “You’ve got a whole life ahead of you, and a whole lot of love in your heart. I was just some punk kid you caused trouble with in high school.”
He was selling himself short to make her feel better but she wasn’t buying it. She knew the real Logan. “Don’t say that Logan. Please don’t say that. You’re so much more than that.” As the tears streamed down her face, Logan brushed them away, his calloused fingertips rough against her soft skin.
Logan pushed her hair back out of her face and as much as she wanted to kiss him, she knew that would be the end - the last time she’d get to feel his touch. His lips met hers, soft, and warm, and she closed her eyes squeezing the collecting tears down her cheeks. He cupped her cheek in his hand while Gabi tried to commit every piece of him to memory - his scent, his touch, his taste...
I've kissed your lips and held your head / Shared your dreams and shared your bed. / I know you well, I know your smell / I've been addicted to you.
“Logan, no.” She pleaded as he pulled away, knowing that was it, and the hurt came crashing down instantly.
Goodbye my lover / Goodbye my friend / You have been the one /You have been the one for me.
Logan stepped backwards into the dark, never taking his eyes off her. “There’s a whole wide world out there waiting for you... Give ‘em hell, troublemaker.”
~~~
Goodbye my lover / Goodbye my friend / You have been the one / You have been the one for me / I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow / I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.
The last words of the song describe exactly how she felt when Logan left, like he occupied a physical space in her heart that he took away when he left. But Gabi has a big heart, and although Logan had been the love she felt she was meant to be with, she couldn’t help but keep a space for Colt too. She had thought her goodbye with him was final and had been starting to make peace with it, but Colt had other plans.
~~~
Gabi brought the last of her boxes out to the car and shut the trunk. Now that it was almost here she was both nervous and excited to move across country and start the next phase of her life. It was the first time in a week that she actually let herself look forward instead of just looking back.
As she walked back to the house, she heard a motorcycle in the distance. For just a split second she wondered if it was him, just like she had every time she heard one since he left, but then she remembered how unlikely that was. They’d said their goodbyes and they’d both made it clear they were headed in different directions. But when the sound kept getting louder, Gabi spun around and almost didn’t believe what she saw.
Colt pulled up in front of her house and hopped off his bike, setting his helmet on the seat. It was like she was seeing a ghost, but it had to be real. He was as gorgeous as ever as he sauntered over in fitted jeans and a white t-shirt under his black leather jacket.
“Colt! What are you doing here?”
Colt scratched at the back of his neck. “I was, uh, in the neighborhood.” It came off as more of a question than a statement. Her neighborhood, and specifically her street, were not places people just happened to pass by on their way elsewhere.
“Oh, really?” Gabi questioned suspiciously. “What type of business did you have around here? You know this probably isn’t the smartest place for you to be.”
“Fine, I’m here because I was hoping to see you. I know we already said our goodbyes, but I still feel there’s a lot left unsaid, and I knew you must be leaving soon…”
Gabi crossed her arms. “You’re right, I’m leaving in the morning, so if you are trying to convince me to stay, it’s too late for that.”
It’s inevitable everything that’s good comes to an end / It’s impossible to know if after this we could still be friends, yeah
“No, it’s nothing like that. I just…I don’t know I’m not always the best with words and expressing my feelings. Can we just go somewhere and talk?”
Colt’s humbled and pleading tone melted any resolve she had she had left. “Okay my dad is working, you can come inside." Gabi led Colt into the living room. He sat on one end of the couch and she sat on the other, pulling her knees into her chest, guarded.
It seemed like minutes passed until Gabi finally broke the silence. "So, did you actually want to talk or are we just going to stare at each other?”
Colt smirked. “I don’t know. It’s not such a bad view.”
Gabi laughed and shook her head. “Come on, Colt. I’m leaving early tomorrow, and I could be sleeping right now.”
“Sorry. I just thought I’d get here and I’d know what to say…but I want to apologize. I know I can be an asshole sometimes.”
Gabi raised an eyebrow. “Sometimes?”
“Okay, most of the time.” Colt chuckled. “I don’t necessarily regret the choices I made, but I do wish I had handled some things differently with you. You know how I feel about you. You know how amazing and intelligent I think you are. I see a lot of myself in you, and because of that, I falsely assumed you’d want all the things I want too. I told you following your dream of going off to Langston wasn’t good enough for you, and I’m sorry. You are going to be great at anything you choose to do Gabi, and I know you’re destined for big things.”
Unforgettable together the whole world in my hands / Unexplainable the love that only we could understand, yeah
“Wow, Colt.” She couldn’t believe he was finally saying all the things she’d wanted him to say all along. “Thank you.”
“Colt looked down to his lap. “I just can’t stop wondering if I would have realized sooner-”
I know there’s nothing I can do to change it / But is this something that could be negotiated
“Colt, stop.” Gabi placed a hand on his knee. “I’m going to school on the other side of the country, and you are rebuilding your dad’s garage here. Everything is working out the way it’s supposed to be.”
Colt looked up to meet her gaze, placing his hand on top of hers, and something changed. His eyes darkened as a familiar spark passed between them, and Gabi knew there was know going back. She leaned in and Colt cupped the back of her head, closing the distance and crushing her his mouth to her. His tongue slipped past her parted lips, Gabi moaning as he deepened the kiss.
Suddenly, Colt pulled away. “What about Logan?”
Gabi sighed. “He’s gone. He didn’t want to put me in danger and wanted me to live the live I’m supposed to have. I haven’t seen or heard from him since that last night we were all together, and I doubt I ever will again.”
“That self-sacrificing moron.” Colt laughed and Gabi followed.
“Do you really want to talk about Logan, or…” Gabi slid her hand up and stopped near the top of his thigh.
“What are you saying?” Colt asked with a smile playing on his lips.
Hey, hey, hey / Oh, why did you have to walk out of my life Hey, hey, hey /Oh, even though it’s over you should stay tonight
“I’m saying…come with me.” Gabi jumped up and grabbed Colt’s hand, pulling him with her and up stairs to her bedroom. As soon as she closed the door they started tearing at each other’s clothes, falling onto the bed, limbs intertwined with only their underwear left on.
Colt rolled on top of Gabi, hovering over her. “Are you sure this is what you want?”
If tomorrow you won’t be mine / Won’t you give it to me one last time /Oh, baby let me love you goodbye
Gabi nodded. Had she given Colt any false hope, or if there was any possibility she could have been with Logan again, she might have felt guilty, but she and Colt both knew the score. In an odd way, she knew it was what she needed to get over him.
One more taste of your lips just to bring me back / To the places we’ve been and the nights we’ve had / Because if this is it then at least we could end it right
“Good. If this is the only chance I get, I’m going to do it right.” He kissed her lips, trailing down her jaw and neck, nibbling and sucking hard enough to leave a mark and sending shivers down her spine. He reached around to unhook her bra, flicking his tongue over her nipples as he pulled the cups down. He slipped his hand inside her panties and groaned as he felt how wet she was, and when circled over her clit she did the same, trying to bite back her moan. He removed her panties and sat up, his eyes roving over entire body. "I’ve waited so long to see you like this. You’re so fucking beautiful, Gabi.”
Gabi clasped her hands around his neck, pulling his weight onto her as she kissed him deeply. There was an urgency in his movements, yet he took his time exploring her body like he didn’t want to miss a thing. She came as he worked his fingers inside her, and then again as his tongue teased her clit.
She pushed colt onto his back, stripped off his boxer briefs, and took his hard length into her mouth, bobbing up and down until she brought him to the brink. He pulled her up before she went to far and guided her entrance over him. She sunk down onto him and gasped as his cock filled her completely. He writhed and moaned beneath her, running his hands all over body, caressing her breasts and making her whimper as he tugged on her pink buds.
“I want you on your hands and knees,” Colt commanded and she obliged. He reached around, stroking her most sensitive place as he drove into her, hitting her sweet spot every time. She felt the pressure building once again until it burst and she screamed out Colt’s name as intense waves of pleasure coursed through her.
Her walls still pulsing around him, Colt flipped Gabi over and pinned her hands above her head as his continues his frantic pace. She bucked her hips into him, and a few more thrusts was all he could take, crying out "Ohh, Fuck!” as his whole body shuddered.
Colt flopped on the bed next to Gabi, idly stroking her arm with his fingertips. “It’s a shame we won’t be able to do that again.”
“Yeah,” was all Gabi could manage to say, her mind a jumble of conflicting feelings. Leaving was still the plan, no question about it, but she’d be lying if she didn’t think for a split second about what it would be like if she stayed.
“I know this doesn’t change anything, but if things don’t work out for you out East, you know where I’ll be.”
Gabi kissed Colt softly on the lips and smirked. “I’ll keep that in mind if I flunk out.” She rested her head on Colt’s chest and they remained in silence as the minutes passed “Hey, Colt?”
“Yeah?”
“I just want you to know you were never second choice or plan B for me. I know this might not make sense or be of any consolation, but things just didn’t fall into place for us. We just couldn’t be what we needed each other to be.”
Colt studied Gabi thoughtfully. "You know what? I think I finally get it. It still hurts like hell, but I don’t want you to change to be what you think I want or need. Maybe our paths will cross again, but if I really love you, which I still do, I need to let you follow your own path."
Gabi laced her fingers through Colt’s and gave his hand a squeeze. "I do love you too, Colt. Not in the way you need me to, but I will always care about you.
"I know.” Colt wrapped Gabi in his arms and held her until it was time to for him to leave.
~~~
Oh baby let me love you goodbye
Gabi momentarily wonders if reliving that all within the span of 10 minutes was a mistake as a wave of emotion almost drowns her. But as she takes a deep breath and exhales, she can almost feel the weight lifting off of her. She’s not just going to forget about everything and move on instantaneously, but forcing herself to relive and process it all has made her see things much more clearly, and she’s ready for what adventures lie ahead.

Good morning, lovely! (This is jojo-blurbs' main here to send you a request!) I'd like to request a matchup, please (M!). Characters from any part from 1-5 are fine, and I am a tremendous Stand lover, so you are more than welcome to include a Stand in my request~ I'm a straight female who likes to read and write, draw, and listen to music (older stuff mostly, anything from the 80's I absolutely love.) (1)
“
I love you immensely for letting me go ham with Stand matchup for the first time hhhhh yes! I took a bit more time with yours because I was so indecisive on who would I end up choosing, for I had a few contestants high up in the ranks.
Alas! Here’s your matchup with an extra dip of Stand!
Fanart used made by: @baie-moeg
Josuke and Crazy Diamond!
Have you ever seen both a stand user and their stand make the same exact idiotic, love struck face upon seeing someone? Well now you have!
Josuke met you in a cafe he was working in for the summer, to earn some sweet dough yo. He did not expect, at all, to meet the biggest crush of the century while he scrubbed clean some used cups behind the counter.
You were quiet, your mannerisms gentle and adorable, he loved it, he was struck hard by Cupid the moment he saw you set foot into his workplace.
He saw, delighted and with the most old style Grease pose he could gather up to seem cool in front of you, how you started chuckling quietly when you got close to the order bar. You looked at him, feeling a slight blush rise to your cheeks upon seeing such a handsome guy getting your order and smiling so gleefully at you. You had to take mental note to come more often to this cafe.
He looked at you with a most comedic, classic flirtatious smile and a raised eyebrow. “What’s so funny, beautiful?” He asked, clearly not used to speaking this way due to the slight pink staining his cheeks now. You raised an eyebrow at his utterance and answered. “I just found it funny that, right the moment I come in, they’re playing Take on Me.” He beamed at that; he was the one in charge of playing the store’s music that day!
“I’m glad you do miss! Yours truly chose the playlist today.” He cooed, his posture now turning more relaxed, resting his elbows on the counter to hold his head with his palms under his chin, the silly smile still not leaving his lips. You noticed he must have had taken some interest in you, which made you snicker in both amusement and giddiness. “Well, you’ve got great music taste, handsome.” You retorted, making him chuckle and promptly steady his posture, ready to take your order with two quick claps and a pat to the small apron on his waist.
He took your order while exchanging flirty, stolen glances at you, which you returned almost equally playful. When your order was done, he gave you what you’d ordered for takeaway, noticing he’d scribbled with a black sharpie both his name and a number with X’s and O’s on the brown paper bag.
You directed a tiny smile at him as you waved goodbye, noticing he waved back and quickly brought his hand to his ear in a phone gesture, wigglin it gently and mouthing “Call me!”
You did call! It took great mental effort but you did it! And oh, were you glad you did. He answered almost immediately with a “Yes?? Are you my pretty cafe angel?” You were about to sink into the ground by those words, how cheesy could he be...
Upon exchanging a few words regarding a meeting soon for a date, mostly on his part, noticing he was the chatty, bubbly type; you hung up. You didn’t know he’d be set on conquering your heart by all means! Nor did you know he was a stand user until your first date.
When you met, he was waiting for you at the square’s fountain, casually sitting on the fountain while nervously playing with his phone in his hands. When he spot you, he wanted to spring up so fast from his seat he was about to fall back onto the water. Imagine your surprise when you saw a pinkish humanoid figure appear out of thin air and hold him back up. The man’s strange savior turning to look at you and give you what you interpreted as a clumsy smile before disappearing again.
Josuke was a bit troubled. You could see Crazy Diamond? Were his chances with you be ruined now that you saw his stand? Well, picture his face when you mentioned how kind of the stand it was to help you up with such a trivial thing as falling into a fountain. You weren’t afraid? This was a first.
You enjoyed a wonderful, casual stroll around the city, walking aimlessly through the rural streets and chatting about whatever the topic shifted to. You both liked the same music, you shared your love for certain shows, and you even introduced him to some of your favorite books! He was set on changing his ways and start on reading those asap to impress you.
He loved the way your face lit up when talking about your interests, giving you an almost dumbfounded smile while nodding like an idiot. You sometimes even doubted he was listening, but he looked so invested and focused on you speaking you quickly shook away your small insecurity.
Sometimes, when you kept meeting up other days for dates, you noticed he’d started to let his stand linger around for longer; the intense yet very gentle gaze of it on you making you curious as to ask about them. “What’s the name of the big guy, Jo?”
Josuke seemed to ponder for a bit before muttering an almost too quiet “Uhm... Crazy Diamond.” He and Crazy were both surprised upon your cute giggling in response and your following words. “Well, isn’t this one lovely and cute music reference manifestation.” Josuke laughed and felt his body ache with relief as he did, immensely thankful you liked his stand. Crazy Diamond looked at you with a cute grin, before it sneakily closed in and, without Josuke being able to help it; gave you a gentle hug while nuzzling its face against yours, feeling your cheek rub around in circles with the surprisingly warm being’s.
You didn’t mind, if anything, you found it endearing, tentatively placing one hand on the stand’s other cheek and squeezing lightly against yours. It seemed to really like that, for it seemed to let go of you and turn to Josuke while doing a heart sign with it’s hands over his chest, turning to you once more and guiding his “heart” hands to your own chest.
Josuke panicked because his stand was acting mostly on behalf of his own feelings. But relaxed once he saw you laugh and pat Crazy’s hands tenderly while giving it back a heart shaped hand gesture.
Days went by, and finally, one day, Josuke decided he had to come straight with his feelings and tell you all about it. He’d tried his best to style perfectly his pompadour that day, dressing as best as he could and even wearing his newest designer shoes. When he knocked on your door, quickly held open for him with you right there, he did not expect to find the bouquet behind his back snatched by his own stand, who offered it to you with a cute smile on it’s face. While he seemed to struggle with how to react for a second, and while you took the flowers from Crazy with a smile, he said it, almost a bit too loud. “I-I want you to go out with me, Y/N! ... If you want to, of course.”
Of course you wanted to! You left the bouquet on the side before leaping into his arms, feeling how you were now held tightly between Josuke’s gentle embrace and Crazy Diamond’s slightly stronger one. Josuke was overcome with joy and couldn’t hold back an excited “Hell yeah!”.
When already dating, Josuke liked to hold you close from behind when standing in lines, be it in the supermarket, the amusement park, the cinema, or just at home when you stood up to do anything. More than once earning an annoyed whine from you since he wouldn’t let you move properly. You loved this gesture though, he just liked to feel you close.
Get ready for countless evenings where you’ll blast out 80′s bangers in his living room and he’ll drag you around, spin you and move you up and about with him as he had the time of his life dancing along. Laughter filled the house, and Tomoko was more than happy to hear you both enjoy yourselves, giving you your space as she quietly left the nights you stayed over.
Speaking of Tomoko, she adores you! Be prepared for motherly spoiling from her, from baking and cooking for you to take home for the next day to buying you new clothes every now and then when she went to the mall once she’d learnt better about your tastes.
Josuke thought it was embarrassing that his mom and his stand liked to pamper you so much, the first with her motherly shenanigans and the later with constant lingering around you, be it peeping over your shoulder into your sketchbooks, gently massaging your shoulders when you read. Damn it, his stand was almost taking his place when he did that!
You assured him with kisses and gentle smiles that it was not the case, for you loved him very, very much. More than anything, you dared say, which made the man melt and drop his face into your lap, letting you run your hand along his broad back to help him recover.
Maybe you didn’t know, but Josuke had it very clear. “She’s the one, and I’m going to keep her happy for as long as I’m possibly allowed to.” He thought to himself, quite often.
Hope this was okay dear! If you wanted more stand moments, or Josuke for a fact, do tell me! I’ll comply asap!

Conversation
Unlabeled Interview Final Part
Isabelle: And speaking of touring, like we're saying before, someone said in here, "I wish it didn't cost so much for you to share your music and voices." We could not agree more.
Zealyn: Oh yeah.
Isabelle: Wouldn't you say?
Zealyn: Absolutely. Yeah. Oh, there's so much we would be doing if it didn't cost so much, I mean yeah, I would have a music video for every single song well done, super well done.
Isabelle: Yeah.
Zealyn: Amazing live videos. I would have- I would be on tour all the time. I, oh my gosh, there's just so many things.
Isabelle: Yeah. We would probably- I'd probably be on tour all the time if touring didn't cost us so much money.
Zealyn: Yeah! Another thing that lots of people don't know is lots of the big artists, if you want to go on tour with them, we have to buy on to it. Umm...
Isabelle: Yeah.
Zealyn: And so recently, I just got an offer to buy on to this really awesome tour. I just couldn't do it. But yeah, just- everything is a pretty penny and so-
Isabelle: Everything's a pretty penny.
Zealyn: But you know hopefully, one day and I believe it will happen one day, our music will take off and we'll finally be able to make money like good money doing music and it'll come full circle at some point. So-
Isabelle: It will. It always does. I was listening to Tyler Perry on Supersoul Conversations this morning on my drive home.
Zealyn: Nice.
Isabelle: And like, same situation. I think nobody starts at the top and I think we forget that "Oh, we see all these people at the top." And it's just discouraging until you hear their stories and you realize, "Wow, they had no money either." He was talking about putting all this money into his first play and how he thought 1200 people are gonna show up. And it was at the 14th Street Playhouse in Atlanta, which I grew up in Atlanta so I know where that was. 30 people showed up.
Zealyn: Aww.
Isabelle: So he lost his car, he didn't have rent or anything and that was like, it sucked to hear that but wow, it's inspiring. And I hope that-
Zealyn: You see where he's come from.
Isabelle: Yeah. You see everything he's gone through and that we're doing the same thing and there's nothing different about it.
Zealyn: Yeah.
Isabelle: Other than not stopping, everytime we get a "no". And that's why this podcast for me is important because I don't know how many of you are watching and I know there's dancers on here and there's singers and aspiring everything but I just hope that you realize that like there's really nothing you umm... that's gonna come easily.
Zealyn: Right.
Isabelle: All the hard things are so much better when you get them.
Zealyn: Yeah. Absolutely.
Isabelle: What is your- what's an insecurity of yours that you are fighting umm... like in your day-to-day or music or just personally? That's like a big question but-
Zealyn: Well, yeah, I mean- I don't- I think that one thing that I do that I- everyone does but I do especially is umm... living in LA for 5 years now, been able to meet a lot of incredible awesome musicians and songwriters and just so many awesome people and a lot of them are doing really good. And like actually though, it's not just "social media" really good but like they're genuinely doing so well and blowing up and always busy and I think an insecurity of mine is like, comparing myself to other people. Is that right?
Isabelle: Yeah.
Zealyn: So um... I always- I'll at least have one bad night a week where I'm just get sunk into that "Aww man! That person's doing so much better than me." and that- and it's a good thing! I'm so happy for my friends like, "Wow, she got that?" "She got that?"
Isabelle: You're not alone.
Zealyn: Yeah!
Isabelle: Everybody feels that way in life.
Zealyn: And that's why- but I think that's something that I struggle with, it's just not- I just need to stop comparing myself. Everyone's started from somewhere, everyone's path is different like it's okay if it's taking longer or, whatever.
Isabelle: Yeah, yeah. I know, but that's umm... it's really great that you said when you're really honest. Because when I look at you, I don't see that you are insecure about that at all because you're so like, in your own lane to me. But it goes to show that we are all the same in that way.
Zealyn: Yeah. Totally.
Isabelle: Those insecurities never go away no matter- even if you were probably a little more successful, you'd probably see the best above you.
Zealyn: People were doing even better right *laughs* for sure.
Isabelle: Umm... Tammy asked about social media handles, so we're just gonna plug this in real quick.
Zealyn: Oh!
Isabelle: So she's @zealyn on Instagram, and @zealynmusic on Facebook.
Zealyn: It's Z-E-A-L- Oh there it is, you can see it. Aww, wow!
Isabelle: Z-E-A-L-Y-N.
Zealyn: You're so well prepared!
Isabelle: I know, it's just me, it's all me, I don't want anyone helping me out. Umm... and then, do her a favor and go if you guys have Apple Music, Spotify, go follow her. It's the same spelling and just like actually click the follow button and like put all her songs on your playlists and actually listen to them. Don't put them on a playlist because I said so, but actually listen because all those little things help us kind of get our music heard and everything like that.
Zealyn: Totally. Yeah.
Isabelle: Umm... I had a question for you- Oh, somebody asked... I'm trying to get through comments- Hailey asked, "What's LA like?" *laughs* That's such a loaded question.
Zealyn: It is. Well, I don't know, yeah. So, I love LA, first of all, I'll start there.
Isabelle: Yeah.
Zealyn: There's nowhere else I'd rather live. I genuinely love this city, it is motivating, pushes you to do better, everyone is going hard like everyone's pushing themselves to be better than they were the day before. So that's the good thing about it. The bad thing about it is that everyone's pushing them-! *Both laugh* Everyone's doing so well, everyone is hustling and I think that's when you also get stuck in a trap of, "Wow, they're going out every week to shows and networking and I only go out once a week. Oh boy, maybe I should be networking more or-" you know, there's just- every stupid little detail, it gets in your head and umm... yeah.
Isabelle: Just don't- I don't wanna discourage everyone for coming out here but if you're gonna come out here, just know that you will be very lucky if you have instant success. I hope that you do, I really do hope that everyone can do that.
Zealyn: Yeah.
Isabelle: But if you don't have instant success, you definitely have to look deeper into the other wonderful positive things happening that may not be exactly what you asked for or wanted but those are the things that you hold onto in order to stay out here because a lot of people don't last in LA because they think, "I'll give it a year and things would go well!" It sometimes happens but a lot of times it doesn't.
Zealyn: Yeah.
Isabelle: And then it's discouraging and you're like, "Well, I'm just gonna go home." but you know, don't do that like wherever you go or if you go away to college or umm... you go to a new city like give it time. Even when I went to college and I went away from the first time, it was the hardest thing ever. I called my mother everyday like, "WHY'D YOU SENT ME AWAY? Why'd you sent me here?" and then, I was so fulfilled and happy. Ultimately, that's what made me such an independent person. And moving to LA too, there were days when I first moved to LA... I was alone, I had a couple friends from college that were here, I went through such bad depression. It's the type of depression where you wake up in the morning, and you don't have anything you need to do, or that needs your attention. And you slept for like 11 hours, and you still- you wake up like exhausted, and you napped throughout the day not because you're tired, it's literally just you're so depressed because you're numb, you don't know what to do.
Zealyn: Yeah.
Isabelle: And guess what? Those things past, and they move away and the positive things come back and they slip in and then you're gonna slip back out of it. Right?
Zealyn: Yeah. And LA really is one of those places that you can't come to L- you can't visit LA for two weeks and expect to see LA and get a sense of the city in two weeks. It's impossible. It takes- LA is massive okay? I think people always think of LA like Downtown LA, like just the little downtown area, n-no. LA is huge, you can drive a whole hour and a half and still be in LA. So, it really truly takes like.... to me, it took a year. For me, it took a whole year to understand like, where everything is, where do I actually want to live, and it takes so long. Umm...
Isabelle: Yeah. It takes so long. I just feel settled now. I've been in here like 5-
Zealyn: I think I truly felt settled like- like I wanna live here forever after 3 years like it literally took 3 years. And I think at that point I was like, "I'm never leaving. I wanna stay as long as I can." Yeah.
Isabelle: I love it here too. So Gina just asked, "Are you going to Nashville?" I would love for you to answer that and tell us the cities you'll be touring in.
Zealyn: Absolutely.
Isabelle: If you remember them all.
Zealyn: Yes! I'll try.
Isabelle: Okay.
Zealyn: Uhh yes. I will be in Nashville, that show actually is announced already, tickets are at zealyn.co
Isabelle: Yeah, all the seats(?) are there.
Zealyn: Yeah, umm... But I mean, I could list them off, yeah. There's actually- I don't know, yeah so it's Minneapolis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville, Atlanta; Beverly, Massachusetts which is my hometown, New York, DC, Philly, Pittsburgh... so that's all everything on the East Coast. West Coast is still like completely being figured out.
Isabelle: Okay yeah. Yeah, it takes time.
Zealyn: It looks like Seattle, Portland, Redding, San Francisco, LA, San Diego.
Isabelle: Uhh, can I open for you now? *both started laughing*
Zealyn: The West Coast one? Oh my goodness.
Isabelle: That's amazing!
Zealyn: Yeah that one's still like- we don't have the venues locked in or anyth- or the dates or anything.
Isabelle: Okay.
Zealyn: But it's August-ish.
Isabelle: August-ish, okay.
Zealyn: Yeah.
Isabelle: Well, if you wanna hear all the dates, go to zealyn.co, that's just "co" not ".com", just "co". And all the dates are up there, all the info about her. She's- like I said, an incredible artist.
Zealyn: Thank you.
Isabelle: Go listen to her music and just support her and I'm really glad that you asked all these questions, I'll be answering all these questions when we're done.
Zealyn: Yeah. Such awesome fans! There's so many questions coming in.
Isabelle: Yeah, they're pretty incredible, I'm lucky I am so lucky that you all show up every week or every other week.
Zealyn: Yeah, that's amazing.
Isabelle: But, Unlabeled the podcast, episode 5, will be uhh... 2 weeks, April 7th, check it out. This podcast you're listening to right now will be up on Tuesday and yeah. Zealyn, thank you for coming, go follow her at Zealyn on Instagram and uhh-
Zealyn: Thanks for having me. You're the best.
Isabelle: You're welcome. I'm honored. I love you, thanks for being here.
Zealyn: Me too. Thanks.
Isabelle: Adios, everybody! *both waved at the camera*
Zealyn: Oh, did it end already? Bye!

Power Styles - Chapter Fourteen : The launch
I quickly turn off my alarm as Hobi is still fast asleep beside me. I gently leave my bedroom, letting him have a lay-in.
I check my phone while I'm waiting for my coffee to pour, and have a text from Jin.
« Hey Gina, just a bit worried is Hobi with you?»
I type « Hey Jin, yeah sorry he slept here, I didn't want to let him leave, he was a bit drunk and sad. »
The warm smell of coffee fills up my nose as I walk to the couch. I take a look at social media while I drink my coffee, and the first thing I see everywhere is articles about Namjoon's new hair color. Ughh, give me a break, I just woke up. Jin answers at the perfect time, just before I was starting to get angry again.
« Oh okay, thanks Gina. »
I don't have time to reply because a second text pops up on my screen.
« I've been meaning to ask.. Would you like to have dinner sometime? 🥺 »
I smile as butterflies invade my stomach.
« I would love too Jin 😌»
I open my computer to start working. My team has already started so I get updated on what has been done, and start editing the video clip. I prefer to do it by myself, so everything is perfect.
I decide to put on some music to not work in silence and figure I should get to know BTS before tour. I put on a random playlist and get back into working.
About an hour into editing, I start vibing to a bouncy song. It's so good that I actually start dancing in my living room.
I hear a laugh behind me, making me turn around and go red when I see Hobi.
« How long have you been there? » I shyly ask
« Not too long » He says « But long enough to see you vibing on RM's solo. »
Oh fuck. « Um I didn't know.. Coffee ?» I'm trying to divert the conversation.
« Yes please. » We head to the kitchen. « You don't have to be embarrassed, it's a good song. And it's healthy to have dance sessions. »
He smiles at me, presses play and turns the volume up.
Namjoon's voice fills up my apartment while Hobi starts jumping around, screaming the lyrics.
« I LIVE SO I LOVE! I LIVE SO I LOVE! LIVE AND LOVE, LIVE AND LOVE! IF IT'S LOVE I WILL LOVE YOU!»
« You should take that advice » I tell him.
« FIRST LET ME VIBE! »
I look at him dancing around my living room. First of all, wow, he's an amazing dancer. Secondly, he's so cute. He looks so happy in this moment, I can't help but smile at him. I must look like a proud mom.
He falls down on the couch when the song is over. I join him soon after with his cup of coffee. He grabs it from my hands as soon as I hand it to him.
« Did you sleep okay? » I ask him.
« Yes, thank you again. I really needed it. » He looks at me gratefully.
« Anytime. » I smile back at him. « Did you think about our talk? »
« Yes I did. » I look at him anticipatedly. « I'm going to tell him. »
« Oh Hobi that's amazing! » I pull him into my arms. « Just know that whatever you need, I'll be here to support you. »
« Brilliant, because I was thinking of a grand gesture. »
« How so? » I'm intrigued.
« Well we have the dinner on Monday and I was thinking a speech? So then the boys would know too. He's already out, so he wouldn't mind. »
« That would be epic. »
I get back to work soon after, and Hobi just stays with me all day, asking me questions about the editing. I eventually close my computer around 6pm.
« Right, that's enough for today. » I'm actually surprised, I got a lot done today and will only need to add finishing touches tomorrow. «What are we doing tonight? »
« Dinner and drinks? My treat. »Hobi says. I nod back, it's exactly what I need.
« Brilliant. Let me go back home to get ready and I'll pick you up at 8. »
« Perfect! » I say
I start getting ready as soon as he leaves. I take a long shower, allowing the water to rinse all the tensions away. I tie my hair up in a tight bun, put on my makeup and head towards my wardrobe. I feel good tonight, so I pick a nice outfit to match my mood.
My phone bings as I'm about to put my clothes on. It's a text from Hobi.
« Hey, I should be here in 30 minutes. Quick question, is it okay if Jin tags along? »
« Absolutely! » I text back, and think about how my outfit is a perfect fit for tonight.
Hobi calls me just as I'm putting my coat on. I quickly leave my apartment to join him and Jin in the black SUV.
« Wow Gina, you look amazing! » Hobi says
« Why do you sound surprised? » I tease him, and look over to Jin, who is just staring at me. « Hey Jin. »
He snaps back into reality « Um, hi Gina, how are you? »
« Good, thank you. » I'm amused by his first reaction, but he hasn't seen my outfit yet. This is going to be fun.
We arrive at barbecue restaurant in Gangnam. Jin, as a true gentleman, opens the door for us. A waitress brings us to our table, and I wait for the perfect moment to take off my coat. Jin's eyes almost pop out of his head. Mission accomplished.
« Oh wow. » Are they only 2 words that he can manage to say.
I act as if I didn't notice how he's looking at me. I sit down and start looking at the menu, feeling his gaze on me.
We decide to order a bit of everything and just share. We also order a nice bottle of red wine and some soju.
We start eating and drinking and talking. At first we talk about work, but as the drinks kick into our systems, the conversation drifts to nonsense. All of a sudden Hobi stands up.
« LOOK WHO'S HEEEEERE! » His glass is held up high towards the other side of the room. « TAE-TAE AND KOOKIE! » I giggle at the knicknames, turning my head to notice them coming towards us.
« Hey guys, what's up? » Kook says.
« Eating, drinking, talking, all that, you know?» Jin answers.
« Come have a drink with us! » Hobi tells them.
They sit down after a few minutes of us practically begging them to join us. They're both a bit tipsy but definitely not on our level. We take it upon ourselves to get them in the same state as us by starting a drinking game. They quickly catch up on us, causing general hysteria at our table.
We start sobering up after a while.
« Right, we're going to go. » Tae says, looking intensily at Kook.
« Sure thing. » Kook smiles back at Tae, almost blushing.
We all decide to leave and end up on the street to say goodbye.
Tae and Kook hop into a car, that soon disappears into the night. They seemed to be in a hurry.
« Come on let's go. Gina we're bringing you home. » Jin says, and I don't interject ; I'm still quite drunk.
I stare out the window the whole way back, seeing the city lights go past us. Seoul truly is beautiful at night, with all the signs lighting up the streets.
Hobi has fallen asleep by the time we arrive at my building. Jin helps me get out of the car and into my building.
He's holding me in his arms while we're on the lift. I can feel myself almost falling asleep leaning on him, his heartbeat sending soothing rushes through my body.
He takes my keys out of my hands after seeing the way I'm struggling to open my door.
« Are you good from here? » He asks.
« S-sure. » I stutter and trip at the same time.
« Right, let's get you to bed. »
He carries me into my room and lies me in my bed. His arms feel so good around my body.
« Will you manage to take off your clothes or do you need help? »
I simply groan, indicating him to help me. He gets to the top, and takes it off as I realize I'm not wearing a bra. I'm too tired to care, but he pauses for too long. I move under my covers to break the awkwardness. He walks up to tuck me in.
« Goodnight Gina. » He whispers. He kisses my forehead softly but I can feel the lust in his lips pressed on my skin.
I barely hear the door close, already lost in my dreams.
I have a hard time remembering where I am when I wake up, and how I ended up in my underwear. Flashbacks from last night come streaming in my head. Wow, I was really drunk.
I pull myself out of bed, throw a robe on and head straight to my coffee machine.
I sit on my couch with my warm mug, staring through the window, slowly waking up.
A text alert brings me back to earth
« How are you feeling today? » It's Jin. He's so thoughtful.
« A bit drowsy but okay. Thanks for last night, and sorry if I made you uncomfortable.. »
« Well I couldn't leave you like that by yourself.» A second text comes in straight after. « Uncomfortable wouldn't be the feeling. »
I giggle at his text before typing a reply. «Might I know what it was then? 🙄»
« I'd rather not tell you 😏»
I smile. I know exactly what the feeling was, I'm feeling it right now.
I force myself to snap out of it, I have work to do.
I open up my computer and start working on the video once again.
The day goes by as I finish the campaign. My team is also working really hard and we end up finishing everything before schedule.
I decide to text the boys.
« Hey guys! So quick update on the campaign : everything is edited and almost ready for the launch tomorrow. Get ready, it's going to be everywhere at 12. »
I put my phone down and head to the shower. I hear the notifications go wild. I pick it up as soon as I step out.
Hobi : I CAN'T WAIIIIIT 🤗
Kook : Yay! Thanks for your hard work Gina
Yoongi : Thanks for your update !
Jin : Brilliant!
As usual, Jimin didn't answer but strangely Namjoon did. And it wasn't a mean answer either. It reads « Very well, could you keep us updated tomorrow too? »
What? He's asking for news?
« Sure no problem » I answer.
I look at the time and decide to head to bed. I haven't slept a lot this weekend and I need to be in good shape tomorrow.
The next day, I get ready for work and stop once again for coffee and food for everyone.
We have quite a chill morning, since everything was done this weekend. We're just going over a few details, and even have time to talk about the tour.
We all gather in the conference room at 12 to see the official campaign. M. Yi joins us too.
The countdown starts on the screen and there it is. My team and I watch the final product of our hard work being sent out to the world. We're very proud of it. We put every effort into it in such a short time.
M. Yi starts clapping and we all join in.
We pop some champagne and stay there for a bit before I send my team away. I was able to get them the next two days of since I took up their weekend.
« You did well Ms Douglas. » M. Yi is now standing beside me.
« Thank you, sir. I promise the tour will be better, I'll have more time to be prepared. »
« Better than you pulled off here would be phenomenal. I made the right decision hiring you 3 years ago. »
« I'm very grateful sir. »
He proceeds to leave the room as my phone starts blowing up. It's the group. They're all congratulating me (almost all of them) and telling me how much they love it. I also notice a private text from Jin.
« Come downstairs. »
I gather my stuff with butterflies in my stomach and head to the elevator.
When I walk out, I see Jin standing there with a huge bouquet in his hands.
« Congratulations Gina. »
« Oh my God, Jin! Thank you so much they're beautiful! » I truly am surprised. « What are you doing here? »
« I thought we could spend the day together before heading to Tae's what do you think? »
« I'd love that. »
We leave the building side by side, my arm hooked around his, while feeling my colleagues' stares on us.

Note
I'd normally be like "ALL THE QUESTIONS" but I'm really interested in 7 and 15 (but like if you wanted to do them all then hell yeah pls do)
You know what, Imma answer them all, cause I love you darling~
All answers under the cut, cause I’m sure I'll get long winded, as usual haha
1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?I mean, there was a story that I had been sitting on for...10 years, I think? I just didn’t know how I wanted to tell the story. It started as a mockumentary type of thing, then when that didn’t fit the narrative style I wanted to tell, I moved to a classic modern fantasy style, but that didn’t pan out either.
Then, the game called “What Remains of Edith Finch” came out and it hit me so hard that I nearly passed out: that is the perfect narrative style for the book idea I’ve been sitting on!!
Incidentally, if you haven’t played/watched someone play it, “What remains of Edith Finch” is an excellent game and Jacksepticeye does a wonderful let’s play of it :D
2) what work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing?Not as much anymore, but I used to hate bringing up “...And the Things That Followed.” Just for a short what-for: ATTTF is a Left4Dead/2 fanfiction, reader-insert that started as a sort of experiment: I perused lunaescence and picked a fandom that I was familiar with, but that didn’t have a lot of fanfiction to choose from. I mostly wanted to see if smaller fandoms stay active, even with very little content to choose from. And boy, did I get my answer.
The biggest reason that I ended up embarrassed over it was because I hadn’t intended it to be a romance fic (I mean...the two main characters are the reader and a Hunter, and what with necrophilia being really gross and all...), but I had readers out and out demand for it, to the point of going on strike from reading my fanfic. This was years ago, mind you, so I caved like a wet noodle and now hate that particular fanfic, to the point where I don’t even want to write the two sequels that I already had planned and half-written.
So, it started out as embarrassment, now its more I wish I could just delete it and forget it exists, but I’m one of those authors who has a really hard time deleting anything, even things I hate haha.
3) what order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else?For the very first, ultimate scene I picture in each fic/story/novel, it could really end up anywhere in the final version.
After that first initial scene I see, I try to start as far back as I think I can get away with and move forward from there, so I guess the short answer is I write from beginning to end, no matter how it ends up being at the end, haha.
4) favorite character you’ve writtenI guess this is supposed to not include characters I don’t own, but that’s no fun so here you go:
OC: A supernatural Hunter named Silva and another hunter (who I have an rp blog for) named Theodora ‘Timmie’ Wilson
Non-OC: Writing Yusuke from YYH and Asgore from UT
5) character you were most surprised to end up writingI’m not quite sure what this question means, so I’ll just take a stab and guess it’s talking about how a character can end up differently on paper than how you first envisioned them in your head.
And that award goes to Silva. I expected her to be a hard, cold killer, but she had so much inner turmoil and hidden thoughts that she was definitely the hardest character to write until I actually started to understand her.
Which took an ungodly amount of time, tbh haha.
6) something you would go back and change in your writing that it’s too late/complicated to change nowProbably how often I use the double-hyphen. Its meant to be an alternative to using commas (which, I use to many as it is anyway haha), but now they litter my writing like popcorn on the floor at a midnight release, haha.
7) when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?Honestly? A little of both.
I’m someone who sees fanfiction (and any fanwork at all, tbh) as legitimate art forms, but there are so many who not only don’t agree, but they belittle and question those who participate in fandoms.
There are days I have all my shit together and I’m ready to defend my fanfiction to the death, along with all my original content; I have my sources, I have examples, so on and so forth, but other days...
Well, let’s just say there are days I don’t even volunteer that information to people willingly haha.
8) favorite genre to writeOther than fanfiction, I love horror, fantasy, and scifi the best, though there are plenty of times it feels like I’m hardly writing for any of those genres at all, haha.
9) what, if anything, do you do for inspiration?Fanfiction, most of the time, but I also listen to songs on the radio, discuss ideas with friends/family (my step-dad was the only person when I was growing up who nurtured my love for telling stories and many of my ideas for novels came from talking with him over the years), or I also like to free-write.
At least, I think its called free-writing haha. I basically just put my pen on paper and just talk to the page with my pen. Sometimes, its just a rant, but more often then not, I’ll find a story or character hidden there.
10) write in silence or with background noise? with people or alone?All of the above, haha. In the perfect atmosphere, music is playing in the background, and I’m completely alone with no distractions, but since that’s not reality, I’ve sort of forced myself to adapt to what I can.
My computer (where I do 90% of my writing) is in the living room of my house, so my hubby is usually around, and if he’s playing overwatch, then its usually a few voices playing in the background.
If it gets to be too distracting, I just put headphones in, but I also write in notebooks and I take those everywhere, so for that, I just write when/what I can as I go along.
11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?Definitely dialogue, but also my prose. Honestly, all of it, haha. I look back at stuff I wrote years ago and I wonder how anybody thought I was any good, haha.
12) your weaknesses as an authorIf I had to pick one, its probably that I tend to either over-explain, or under-explain. There is no in-between, haha. My first drafts are often a mess of me focusing in on the details of one room and then not describing a setting for two chapters or more.
13) your strengths as an authorProbably my ability to logically follow order of events, even though I don’t plot, like, at all. This also makes it easy to see where I can divert from what’s expected and explore different avenues.
14) do you make playlists for your current wips?Not really? I tend to either put my whole library on shuffle, or I have a dedicated writing playlist that’s full of background music from video games and other things like that.
15) why did you start writing?It started as an outlet.
When I was about 10, my dad came home from work one day while my mom was still at work and while I watched, packed all his stuff into his car, called my mother and told her that if she didn’t get off work soon I’d be home alone, and then left.
I was in a complete and total depression from around then until well into my late teens (I have a little depression now, and a slew of other problems, but now for diff reasons). On top of my dad leaving, my mother, step-father and I all moved to a completely new state, where I started to bomb academically and had literally no friends until almost a year later.
It started out as angsty pre-teen poetry (a lot of which actually still pretty good, even as I go back to read it), then it spilled into fanfiction and fandoms, and around the age of 13--once my step-dad found my love of writing and wanted to pull me away from fanfiction--I finally started writing original ideas out.
16) are there any characters who haunt you?Silva, and a few others. Not so much because their stories are left untold, but moreso because of the way they helped shape me as a writer and the things I was interested in writing about.
The debate about whether or not a writer should write about a certain subject usually stems from readers, but I tend to lean toward the argument from a writer’s point of view: there are subjects that I broached as a teenager that I needed to explore in order to be who I am today, as a person and as a writer. Not to say I have something horrible in my writer’s past that I wouldn’t be able to share, but more that it might be questionable about the age that I delved into those topics. (and no, I don’t mean just smut, though that is included in what I’m talking about)
17) if you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?Stop wasting your time trying to please family members with what you write. Most of them are going to ignore the whole of your writing and focus in on the one swear word you threw in for characterization anyway.
Write what makes you happy; whether or not its publishable isn’t the point. You’re just starting out and you need to write; to get better, to learn the ropes, so just go WRITE!
18) were there any works you read that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?Oh geez...at the beginning, everything I read affected my writing style. Fanfiction, published novels, everything.
Probably my biggest influencers would be “The Green Mile” by Stephen King, “The Hobbit” by JRR Tolkien, “This Present Darkness” By Frank Peretti.
And while these are hugely different authors with different writing styles, they more influenced me in my way of thinking. Of expanding my imagination of what could be if I just had the courage to write it.
19) when it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?I either have a notebook filled with notes about characters/information, or I use a website called Hiveword(dot)com. It’s a novel tracking website that also advertises its program (which you have to pay for), but the website itself is free and you can store all the information about your book, characters, timeline, etc.
20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts?Both, but I get more done with longer sessions. I know that seems like a no-brainer, but its more because of how I prep myself for my writing time:
I have to have a glass of water or cup of coffee, I have to have my music playing (which, with spotify could take a few minutes to load), I have to re-read the last page or so of what was previously written so I can get back into the feel of it, then I can actually sit down and write.
the little spurts end up being in my notebooks and they’re a mess, honestly, haha.
21) what do you think when you read over your older work?I used to cringe and close it immediately, but I’ve been trying to analyze and see the biggest differences in my writings from a then and now standpoint. Sometimes its really hard, if its particularly bad or whatev, but its been a real confidence booster when I can see where I was and where I am now.
22) are there any subjects that make you uncomfortable to write?Not uncomfortable, per se, but I tend to try and think of things from a reader’s perspective at the same time I write, so there are times when I get a little too involved in what’s happening on the page, haha.
HIAPOTS was a terror to write at some points because of this.
23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?All of it, if I’m being honest, but obscure things specifically? Hmm...
I mean, probably the fact that I give all my pets personalities and conversations between each other? I do it without thinking, but there are times where I’ll find myself using lines or situations from this weird little thing in my actual writings, haha.
24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?OMG SO MUCH. Like, idk about ‘expert’, but I have so much useless trivia in my head because of being an author. Talk with me for an hour and see if I don’t throw ‘fun facts’ into the mix of our conversations haha.
25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud ofOh ugh...umm...let me to look...
From a currently unpublished reader/sans fic I’m writing:You understand, don’t you, Sans?
Sure, Sans understood. Sans always understood. He was the one who didn’t make waves, or overturn boats--you could always count on Sans to be the reassuring nod when you felt lost or the understanding ex who’s perfectly okay with just letting things die, even though the ending came as the greatest punchline ever written in history:
He hadn’t even seen it coming.
(I love delving into characters’ heads, and i love it more when i can do it well enough to feel comfortable with letting other people read it, haha)
From Part 6 of my Garrus/Reader serial fic:“They were my cases,” Garrus admitted, his eyes finally leaving Castis’s in favor of looking at the floor, “And I can’t watch it happen again.”
If Castis didn’t have such a steely reign on his composure now, Garrus might have been clued into his father’s line of thought. As it was, Castis was being forced to realize that he had been wrong in his assessments of his son.The older turian had always thought Garrus shirked the rules and regulations as a form of rebellion, since Castis stepped in and forced him to quit training for the spectres--as if to prove he didn’t care about what his father cared about. Now, Castis realized the reason Garrus pushed them aside so easily was because he did care, maybe too much.
(Honestly, the whole argument between Castis and Garrus in this part of the fic is something I’m proud of)
