Hi, it's binge-read anon again! I'm still going through the old posts and loving each and every one of it <3 And I saw the joke drawing of the fox saying hail satan, and it got me thinking: how does the veil belief system work? Do they believe in satan/a hell and a god/a heaven? What do they think happens to you after you die normally vs through the corruption (if that changes anything at all)?
Hello again, Binge-Read Anon! And, see, first off, you must understand, the fox is a card-carrying member of The Satanic Temple. He may be evil, sure, but his desire for freedom and equality make him an upstanding citizen. I do think in that exact panel edit Maia was squeezing a racoon, but the same applies to that little creature as well... except with the very notable difference in levels of Evil ( which the racoon is vastly more entrenched). When it comes to religion in the veil, we'll stick to the veil itself. I can't go into too much detail since this will be in the story, but the Veil once held a prominent religion of its own. It has largely fallen away through the years, by the influx of wards and the old mythos no longer seeming to make much sense to the denizens throughout. Yet, there are still parishes to be found playing host to small congregations. For the most part, the churches that do remain tend to keep their doors open for their intended services, but often play out community roles in honor and duty of their still-held beliefs. They're particularly popular on Saturdays, seeing as that's the day set aside for the lord Bagel, and are free to the public for as long as supply lasts. (Limit five per person--10 for larger maven or particularly hungry looking big fellas.)
