gosh!! magic au!! theseus! chaos of having at the base and it’s like two bucky. gale would definitely be shocked!

That au really hit me like a fever dream, my dear anon. I was thinking about the Twin Cleven AU and the Blond Bucky bit I added when I remembered I tacked on a tiny Theseus Easter egg. 30 minutes later I had Magic AU in my drafts with no memory of writing it.

But I've sketched out some thoughts for you and for those who are interested (please keep in mind the last time I watched Fantastic Beasts was a few years ago so I don't remember much):

Bucky's a Scamander by his father (Theseus and Newt's uncle) but goes by his mother's maiden name as he was taken in by her brother and his wife.

Both his parents were magic, but they died near the end of the First World War. Bucky stayed with the Scamanders for a little while before eventually going to America before he turned 4. Theseus was very close with him, and they were occasionally mistaken as father and son due to the age difference (Theseus was a war hero during the First World War if I remember correctly?) (Also that could be an AU now that I think about it but not rn)

He has a bit of a British accent, comes out more when he's using magic. Or when he's around his cousins. First time Buck hears it, he just about faints.

Went to Hogwarts solely because his parents went there, and he wanted to feel close to them. Not sure what House but leaning Hufflepuff. He seems like he'd be happy there.

Enjoyed the school somewhat, but he dealt with some bullying due to his American upbringing as well as some of the students still remembered Newt and bullied him for that connection.

His favorite animal is still the unicorn. It's just not extinct like he said to Buck. What can I say? Every Scamander is good with magical animals.

Had an accidental falling out with the Scamander family who wanted him to move permanently to England and stay with them during his schooling, but he prefered spending his summers in America and winter holidays in the castle.

Came home before he turned 18 (I guess started Hogwarts young for his grade? Idk.) And decided to blend in to Muggle/No-Maj society by going to college and later joining the Air Force.

After Bucky's revelation to the RAF pilots, one of them writes home saying he met Theseus Scamander's cousin! This gets passed through Wizarding society until it lands in the ears of Theseus who didn't have a clue his cousin was in England, let alone serving in a Muggle unit. And after hearing about the death toll, he gets scared.

Theseus resolves to pop down there and check in on his cousin. And unknowingly reeks havoc upon Thorpes Abbotts.

Literally everyone that sees him is flabbergasted because 1) Major Egan is handsome but he never dresses like That and 2) Major Egan is supposed to be flying back from a mission right now. Word travels through base, and it's alight with rumors.

Theseus gets dragged to Kidd's office because literally everyone is freaking out, and he's quite confused why everyone keeps calling him Bucky. He tries to explain that he's Theseus and that he's here to see his cousin John, but every time he speaks the people around him all jump (its cause his accent spooks them. That accent should not be coming from someone who looks so much like Bucky in their mind. Boy are they in for a rude awakening.)

Bucky flies back in, and after interrogation, he doesn't even get a chance to change clothes before he's being dragged to Kidd's office. Buck and a few of the boys follow utterly confused. If Bucky's in trouble, Buck's not just gonna stand by.

Theseus happily greets Bucky when he walks into the office, and the pair have an okay reunion before Theseus states that he's here to check on his younger cousin, heavily implying that he's here to transfer Bucky to a British outfit as he's a British citizen and their family connections want to keep him safe (really a Wizard one but among Muggles he's better at speaking around the issue)

Thus an argument breaks out. Bucky's accent also comes out, and nearly everyone around him loses their minds.

Buck really, really does not want to talk about what that accent does to him. It's confusing and concerning. (Clegan are together, but when your partner busts out the London Accent, well that's a gamechanger)

Anyways idk where it goes after that, but now everyone has to deal with the fallout that Bucky is British and has a nearly identical cousin who pops in to check on him.

You're being chased by a lycan. You think so at least. It's the only plausible conclusion you can come to, based off nothing but fleeting glances. Then again its not whats chasing you that you're worried about, rather the fact you're separated from your team, low on ammo, and in the middle of the woods, defenseless. Far from ideal.

Your lungs ache, your legs ache, your whole body aches, really, joints threatening to give out due to overuse. But you can't stop to rest now. Not when the lycan (you think) is hot on your trail, gaining on you no matter how fast you run. You think briefly about calling out for help on the off chance a team member of yours miraculously manages to hear it. You're quick to dismiss it, though. Making sound will do you more harm than good. Besides, Captain Redfield is out in these woods somewhere. Surely he can't be too far.

You continue running, dodging trees and roots expertly, all while ignoring the branches scratching ruthlessly at your face. There's no time to rest, no time to regroup. You have to keep going.

And you do... until you're no longer running, years of military training ultimately failing you as you find yourself face-first on the forest floor, pain searing through your body. Fuck. A quick once-over confirms two things; 1. you, in fact, didn't trip and aren't an absolute failure to your team; 2. you've been caught. Easier on your conscience but still not good. The sheer weight on your back is enough to make your heart race, struggling doing nothing to deter it. If this is a lycan, it's the biggest you've ever encountered. Impossibly so.

There's a snout pressing uncomfortably into your neck, the padded skin strangely warm. The creature huffs, sharp claws threatening to dig into your sides as it holds you in place, smelling you.

You hear your name, a soft, animalistic growl, the creature’s hot breath fanning against your neck as it speaks. Your heart just about stops. You know that voice.

“Captain?” you manage, your voice small and breathless, practically suffocated beneath the lycan’s— no —Captain Redfield’s chest. There’s a grunt, his nose shoving further into the crook of your neck, inhaling deeply.

It takes all that remains of Chris’ self control to not ravage you right then and there. But your eyes are wide, practically trembling beneath him, the intoxicating smell of fear radiating off you in waves. No, no, no, he doesn’t want you to scare you. He flips you into your back in one quick movement, seemingly thinking you seeing his monstrous form will help sooth you. He licks your cheek, nuzzling further into you.

The word werewolf is really the only thing you can think of to describe him. With everything you’ve been through, this isn’t that strange. Not any less disturbing though. He’s massive — easily 8 feet tall — towering over you, pinning you to the ground with nothing but his absurd weight. You’d be lying if you said it didn’t do something for you.

And fuck, Chris can’t help himself, not with you under him like this, entirely defenseless, that hint of fascination in your eyes as you stare up at him oh so sweetly. He needs you. All at once he’s hit with the overwhelming need to have you, to breed. Really, it’s a miracle he’s managed to starve it off this long. He ruts against your stomach with a shaky gasp, unable to help himself, soft shameful whispers of “m’so sorry,” leaving him as he does.

So I'm working on 3 fics right now. Getting the dialog right is kinda killing me a little bit. I keep writing it out in my head and then I forget how I got the characters from step 1 to step 2. Its frustrating.

I've also been pretty tentative about interacting with people again so much in fandom spaces. But I love bouncing ideas around and love hearing what others have to say. Anyway here's an update of what I'm working on since I'm at work and no one else showed up to this fucking meeting so I'm writing on tumblr instead.

I started Dreams Like Deadly Things which is gonna be a Steddie exploratory piece into angst in regards to gender and kink and of course some drugs thrown in to get the ball rolling. Writing gender stuff is kind of new for me in general but its only supposed to be like 5 chapters which are mostly smut and angst. One small chapter is posted and chapter 2 is started and killing me with writing the dialog.

I've started Creature Comforts, which is a Steddie body and psychological horror about losing humanity and trying to find it again. This one i wanna explore some heavier themes like cannibalism, loss of self, and the awful dread of knowing the impending loss of self but cant stop it. This one is not posted at all. Waiting till I have it a bit more fleshed out. May never get posted lol.

I've also started Beneath Fur and Fang (title pending) which is my first foray into A/B/O dynamics even though its pretty nontraditional ABO and not intended to be like filthy smut. This one's a Harringroveson as werewolves with some depressing lore and chalk full of a bunch of ideas im really excited about but its gonna be a long one. Also features heavy angst and heavy themes like animalistic behavior, death of children, unhealthy dynamics, unhealthy coping mechanisms and some stuff i won't put on tumblr . The base social needs of predators really fascinates me. Also this one is gonna be gross on a lot of levels. Like I keep going back and forth by how dark I want a certain scene to be but it would be exceedingly disgusting and I would need to dead dove tag it. Decisions decisions. Anywho, started but also not posted but its the one im most invested in. Also at a loss for certain plot points.

3. Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

ehhhhhh I try to never say never because you can often find some kind of circumstances where pretty much anything works? :'D but there are a lot of tropes i'm not very drawn towards. most notably maybe A/B/O, which seems very popular in a lot of fandoms.

but tropes are good! even the most cliche idea can be fun to write and that's what we're in this for, fun :'D so who knows!

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

already answered this. but uhm. another one could be the "don't be afraid to use the characters actual names" because honestly, repeating them won't sound stupid. coming up with a new way to refer to a character in every sentence is what rather pulls the reader out of the moment, if anything.

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

i think i'm gonna mention @tirsynni and @kneesofthebee at once, because the reasoning is pretty much the same lol: I really enjoy both their characterizations, and I really like their clear, concise writing styles! it's always so nice to read. plus, both of them have written very excellent nivannedy, which is a direct route into my heart :'D

as for the third, hm. i think i'm gonna be self-centered for a moment here and say me :'D simply because I give me what I want!

right now I'm actively working on two nivannedy fics; one is a direct sequel to the self-indulgent verse, and pretty much picks up where the previous part left off. i'm so excited to get them further in their journey :D this next part isn't yet going to be where I get them married lmao but we're getting there!

another one I'm working on right now is based on a dream I had lmao. Piers and Leon have history, but Leon broke it off a bit over a year before the fic takes place. and then they're stuck together trying to save a bunch of children from an infected village, and of course old feelings flame up again :'D

i've got a bunch of other fics I'm planning but those I haven't actually started properly writing? always happy to talk about those too tho if anyone's interested.

this is gonna sound like such a cop-out but honestly, any and all of them. every single time I get a comment notification I light up like a damn christmas tree, I kid you not :'D i go from :((( to :DDDD in a second ahaha. but I gotta admit, the comments that actually point out what parts of the fic they enjoyed, maybe even quote stuff back at me? those are the absolute best.

39. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

I've been incredibly lucky and haven't gotten many mean comments. there's one that sometimes still pops up in my head but nowadays it doesn't cause more than a tinge of irritation anymore, thankfully. and idk. thus far I've just deleted them. I don't want to see them in the fic, I don't want to engage with them if they're just being rude, so deleting the comment seems like the most efficient way to go. but I do often show them to a friend or two first, to talk it through, both to make myself feel better and to see if there's actually some point to the comment i should consider.
