"That sounds like a very fun game. Heh heh I'd love to play!" Kaban's face brightens and she sits up straight putting her tea cup on her lap. Friends in general love games, many are based upon things that they did when they were animals but Kaban always enjoys playing them alongside her many friends. So Wendy's game sounds like a blast.
"Please start first. I'll take my turn second that way I know the kind of questions that you can ask in this game. It sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm a fairly quick learner when it comes to games."
"The tea by itself is quite wonderful, thank you." Wendy couldn't help the soft giggle that slipped out of her. In truth, the woman felt that being surrounded strange creatures must have been far more entertaining but she certainly wouldn't deny the girl any insight she could offer for her own particular type of life.
"I must admit that I am quite curious about your own lifestyle as well actually," It was then that a twinkle glinted in those sapphire eyes, as if a light bulb had gone off in her head. In truth, it practically had. Setting the cup of tea on a nearby ledge, she neatly folded her hands within her lap and fixed her attention solely upon her companion.
"I have an idea then.. perhaps we play a game of sorts. We can take turns asking questions of one another, so both of us is allowed the satisfaction of learning about the others life. Does that seem fair?"

"I guess I'd like to learn everything. I mean the life of a human who lives among humans must be a very exciting one with with no end of interesting things but it's one I wouldn't know much about since..." Kaban replies excitedly but stops herself in the middle. She wouldn't be a very good guide if she just asked endless annoying questions of the older human.
"I'm sorry. It's just I am very curious but since you came all the way to the park there must be things here that you are curious about?"
"Ah would you like something to eat with your tea?"
The woman couldn't help her concern over this particular girl, try as she might to push the thought aside with an excuse of 'she's lasted this long' but overall, Wendy also couldn't ignore the fact that Kaban seemed genuinely happy.. so she must surely be doing something right. For a brief and fleeting moment, she could feel something wistful twinkle in her sapphire gaze. It was gone soon enough, chasing the thought from her mind.
"I suppose that is true, as you seem quite healthy and well for even the harshest possible surroundings of the wilderness." She offered a genuine smile, a tip of her head sending a few rebellious wisps of hair kissing at her rosey cheeks.
"Oh? Learn about my world.. well I cannot say it is a particularly exciting way of life but I would be delighted to accompany you and explain anything you could possibly wish to know." Her voice was practically lyrical with a chipper hum, sipping back the last of her tea.

"I guess I don't know enough about the outside world to see how these things are dangerous compared to the way other humans live. All i know about the outside world comes from library books, but I figured it wasn't too much different from the park." Kaban explained as she finished off her cup of tea.
Kaban looked up into the sky for a moment as she thought things out for a moment before turning back to Wendy.
"Wendy-san, I think I'm capable enough not to need someone to act as my mother to learn how to live in the park, but I'm very interested in your world so if you would like to travel with me for awhile I would love to learn a little from you." She offers with a smile.
The more that the girl went on about the dangers of the park, the more concerned Wendy's expression became, her slender brows knitting together above those apprehensive sapphire eyes. She was fidgeting anxiously with the handle of her teacup by the time that Kaban ended her explanation.
Wendy remembered once traversing through a jungle with lost boys, but that was so long ago, and a completely different jungle.. and Peter had always been there..
Although the guide's final statement did add a small relief to her growing concern, Wendy managed a kind smile as she finally took another slow sip of her tea to wash the worry down.
"I am incredibly glad that you are faring well for yourself, though all of this sounds so dreadfully dangerous..." the mention of a mother was what she was hung up on, a moment of meek embarrassment painting her cheeks in rose, "I actually acted as mother to a group of boys when I was younger.. though that feels like ages ago.. so I suppose that being raised without a mother is not dreadfully unheard of."

"It's true that there are dangerous things about living in the park: it's easy to slide down steep hills when climbing down them, in the mountains it can get really cold, it's pretty easy to get lost in the deep jungle or desert, and of course you always have to watch out for Ceruleans but besides the Ceruleans I imagine it's pretty much the same outside the park too." Kaban replies thinking it out and taking another sip of her tea. She didn't know much about life outside the park so she was guessing.
"But in Japari Park the rule is that you need to fend for yourself even if it's okay to ask for help sometimes. Besides I'm usually the one animals come to for help, so I need to show I'm at least a little capable." She adds with a smile.
"As much I know I missed out on not having a mother to teach me how to survive like other humans I enjoy the way I live right now." She adds to try keep Wendy from worrying too much about her.
Wendy's gaze followed her direction to the horizon, a furrow of her brow denoting a mixture of concern and awe. There was a lot to unpack in the explanations that Kaban was offering, some of which she had to digest a moment before she could fully grasp it.
"Goodness," Considering her words carefully, she drew another sip of her tea, "So you live here without a mother currently? That must be quite difficult..." Though, in truth, there was some part of her who felt an aura of deja vu, of memories of playing mother to lost boys and a sassy fairy. It brought a smile to her lips still.
"Is it a relief that you do have someone you know around here, but you do seem quite young to be out here all on your own. There's nothing dangerous here to worry about?" She felt as though she was sounding much like her own mother these days. Lowering the cup of tea, she offered a kind smile. "Apologies, I don't mean to be so probing, it just seems like such a unique living situation."

"Wendy-san then it's very nice to meet you." Kaban replied with a smile as she poured herself another cup of tea from the pot she had out. She might have to make more next time if Wendy was going to be joining her again while she was here.
"Yeah, I was born over there someplace." Kaban pointed to a ridge off in the distance that like everything else in sight was just grass and the occasional tree no sign of human habitation in sight.
"I'm actually searching for Mirai-san, she was the previous park guide and is sort of my mother I think..." Kaban knew that was a strange way to phrase it but she was born in kind of an odd way.
"Ah but honestly Serval-chan is kind of my family too. She's my best friend and we travel around the park together having adventures a lot so I consider her family." Kaban adds with a smile hoping that Wendy didn't think she was too lonely being the only human around here.
Wendy breathed a sigh of relief with the words offered to her, at least reassured that she wouldn't be cuffed and hauled off to jail in a foreign country anytime soon. The mention of quarantine did cause a furrow of her slender brows. Had there been an outbreak? Perhaps a virus? Surely, she wouldn't catch anything here... would she? Those concerns were pushed to the back of her mind so she could focus on the guide before her.
The woman was piecing together things quite well with Kaban's help, the mental image of the guide living on the bus and travelling that dry area seemed like an odd lifestyle to the English lady but it wasn't her place to judge. Though, it did seem awfully lonely to her.
"Oh, how gracious of you." She was more than happy to accept the tea, offering a kind smile as she drew a slow sip of it between her words, "Thank you kindly, miss Kaban. My name is Wendy Moira Angela Darling, but please do just call me Wendy."
With a pause in the conversation, the curious woman was able to voice a few carefully chosen questions from the onslaught that flooded her brain, trying all the more to not act too eager or to pry deeper than she should by polite standards, "You said you were born here. Do you not have any family here anymore?"

"Please don't be nervous Miss, I uh, you don't have to apologize the park is always happy to get visitors so please don't worry. Actually since the park has been something called 'quarantined' the only guests we get are people who come in even though we're not open." Kaban says trying to cheer Wendy up with a smile. The little human was always happy to make a new friend and her first impression of the older girl was positive despite her nervusly.
"Ah yeah, I was born here in the Savanna Area, I'm human but I'm called Kaban I'm the park guide so while I travel a lot in my bus I come back here a lot to relax."
"Ah please wait here a moment." Kaban climbed into the back of the tour bus for a moment and returned with another tea cup, technically it was a promotional mug but it was Kaban's guest cup. Sh poured a cup of tea and handed to it Wendy.
"Please have some Miss."
Wendy found herself halting in her tracks, captivated by the great expanse of golden fields stretching out for what seemed like eternity. It certainly wasn't something she'd expect to see at home and nothing she could remember seeing in her adventures thus far. It was beautiful in its own wild majesty and the woman found herself marveling at it for longer than she counted.
The voice seemed to derail whatever train of thought Wendy had been entertaining, jolting as she was startled from her daze and turned quite abruptly to face the girl. Surely she wasn't caught already! Perhaps it was illegal to trespass. Perhaps this was the local police, come to haul her off to jail-.. oh. She blinked, furrowing her brows at the surprisingly young lady, as if attempting to make sense of the whole scene that unfolded near the rundown bus.
"I do apologize!" A bow of her head was given hastily, "It's just... the park looked so magnificent from the outside and I truly just wanted to see more..." Wendy wrung her hands anxiously, creasing the fabric of her gloves, "I certainly didn't mean to intrude, Miss.." The Englishwoman was stammering slightly, her words pushed out in shaky apology as she cast a sidelong glance back towards the entrance. "Do you.... live here?"

From the entrance the young woman came in from there was what seemed like an endless expanse of Savanna much like the great plains of Africa dotted with little trees and winding streams where animals would gather to get water.
There was also something else a beaten up old tour bus parked under the shade of one of those trees where the resident park guide, a young girl of about 14 in a equally beaten up pith helmit was spending what had so far been a lazy day reading and drinking tea in the shade. However when she heard foot steps in the distance she looked up from her book and saw Wendy.
"Ah hello there Miss! I uh you don't look like an animal from the Savanna Area are you perhaps lost?" She little guide asks setting her book down on the grass and standing up.
- Starter for @thesafaribaggirl-returns -
Wendy had never been outside of England before, not unless she counted the weekend in Paris but that was hardly an adventure as much as it was being dragged around for shopping. No, this was the first real trip somewhere new, somewhere exotic, and although it was not the daring adventures with pirates and fairies that she longed for, it certainly was something better than England.
Japari Park. Even the name sounded exotic, though it looked a bit more closed than she had expected. Regardless, she'd made it all this way.. what was the harm in going in anyway? It didn't appear that anyone was around to witness it.
Ducking past the signage that likely warned her to stay out, her heels clicked sharply upon the ground as she wandered into the seemingly abandoned park, careful to tug up her dress a few inches so that the hem could avoid the tall grass.
